TBH I think Abed, Britta, and Duncan were the ass crack bandits. It started when Britta needed to make up a criminal to profile as part of her psych class and she though 'hmm, profiling this criminal if he were real could give me some psych cred' but she knows that shed get caught so she convinces Abed to do it along the lines of 'cmon man ik you love to commit to the bit' so he does it. Duncan joins 2 years later because he somehow found out but wanted to impress Britta more, so he gives Abed access to the short cuts. Abed ends up telling Troy who ALSO agrees to commit to the bit and let him crack him so no one suspects Abed. they crack Duncan to throw people off their tracks since he decided to use Dave Mathews song lyrics in the notes and it was matter of time before they realized he was a Dave Mathews fan I rest my case

AC fandom stop treating the Medici (ESPECIALLY LORENZO) as some corrupt tyrants who would be the rennaissance equivalent of snooty entitled rich people?
begging you all to pick up a fucking history book or just, any Renaissance Humanism 101 video on youtube. i promise its not some difficult content hard to get your hands on. i promise your eyes won't fall off to learn that, surprisingly, rich people of the past from mercantilism times ARE NOT EVEN REMOTELY comparable to rich people of today.
Lorenzo wouldn't even make it the top 100 richest people list by today's standards. and he believed it was his moral and political OBLIGATION to devote his wealth for the good of the people. you can't even call what he did as philantropy cus the word has taken such a slimy connotation these days.

Night in Monteriggioni
Summary: Based off of an email in ACB from Shaun bc I'm sad and I miss Shaundes </3
Pairing: Desmond Miles/Shaun Hastings
Characters: Desmond Miles, Shaun Hastings, Rebecca Crane, Lucy Stillman
Tumblr media
Note: this probably has mistakes bc it's 3 am so shhh
The Animus shield flickered open, Desmond reaching towards his face when sitting up from the cushioned time machine. Lucy chimed out, "Welcome back Desmond!" Desmond stood and shook his nerves out from the previous Ezio session, stress still lingered on his mind from Ezio's own stress due to Claudia's close call at the Rosa in Fiore. Desmond stretched and rubbed his hands against his arms, trying to fight against the cold Sanctuary they camped out in.
Shaun typed away at his laptop, sleep was absent from his schedule recently. The assassin's losing contact all around the world didn't sit well with the crew. Especially in the cold quiet cave below the Villa Auditore. Desmond approached Altaïr's statue, mind still foggy with Ezio's memories with the sudden wave of mystery and curiosity. He hadn't checked his emails in a while and it had been a while since he actually touched a piece of technology other than the Animus. Crossbows and swords weren't his thing.
When he typed in his password, his inbox pulled up and a message thread between the four of them from Shaun;
"Colleagues,
We have been cooped up in this dungeon for ages. I feel it's best for both our sanity and productivity if we go into town tonight and enjoy the local colour.
A bit of wine and maybe some music.
S."
Desmond started typing, intrigued by the mention of drink and the escape from the musty cave. He responded quickly with a, 'Yes and thank you' to get the point through. Shaun turned to the other three surrounding him, "It's almost 5. So it's now or never and I'm not sure how much longer I can sit in this scummy hole of a sanctuary." Desmond crossed his arms, "It used to be a lot nicer. Trust me." Shaun rolled his eyes and gathered himself, his body aching from his hunched stature. Lucy stood as well, shutting off her laptop, "I agree. Desmond, are you experiencing any visions or drowsiness right now?" Desmond shook his head, half lying. He was exhausted of course but the bleeding effect had become so present it seemed like a normality.
Rebecca cracked her knuckles and stretched when approaching the other three, "I'm ready, let's head out!" They all made their way up the Sanctuary's never-ending staircase, all collectively stretching out a long breath from the fresh air. The sky was prickled with stars and a slow moon as they all traveled to the streets of the town.
The bar they reached was a relatively unpopular bar, hoping to keep some sort of low profile while enjoying themselves. They all agreed beforehand to just keep their ear pieces in and leave their altered phones in the Villa. Desmond ordered their drinks, cute little wine glasses with garnishes matching all their tastes. Lucy and Rebecca stayed to their conversations, mostly about tech savvy things and certain serious topics for when they returned home. Shaun and Desmond dipped silently at the other half of the bar. Desmond questioned if he was even awake, his body stiff and mind wandering off again. Shaun snapped his fingers, "Des, don't fall asleep at the bar. You're going to get us kicked out." Desmond shook his head as he smirked and sipped more of his wine. He couldn't get his mind off of how much had happened in the past weeks, he still couldn't believe it. He was relieved to have such great people surrounding him and supporting him.
Still he felt trapped within a simulation.
Shaun finished his wine first, again. Desmond wasn't surprised, keeping up with those databases and monitoring Ezio's memories became so time consuming. The Brit bit down on his orange slice garnish, finishing it in one bite and looked to Desmond, "I'm put off by how slowly you're drinking. Are you sure you're okay?" Desmond nodded hesitantly grabbing his glass again and downing the rest with a squint in his eyes, "I'll be fine after a few more." Shaun raised an eyebrow and ordered two more glasses, shorter this time to refrain from overdoing it.
Desmond's glass slammed down onto the wooden bar, trying to freshen his mind. 'What will Ezio do next?' 'Claudia got initiated quickly.' 'Fuck Cesare, he's a dick.' Shaun noticed his odd silence again until he noticed the music kicking up into something they all knew, Fooled Around and Fell in Love was a classic road trip song they'd click on during their drive from Florence to Monteriggioni. The slow rhythm got them all in this sweet slow vibe they all enjoyed. Rebecca rushed to the dancing area, joining a few other people that lingered in the bar. Lucy followed Rebecca and swirled around her, tipsily rocking her head and shoulders to the music. Desmond smiled as the familiar tune played and the girls dancing made him smile a little wider, but what was to happen next confused him.
Shaun stood and held out his hand to Desmond, his bar stool swung around away from the bar. Desmond placed his hand slowly into Shaun's. The redhead shook his head and threw himself and Desmond to the dance floor, lost in the small crowd as the lyrics played back in their heads. Desmond wasn't sure what to do, Shaun took the lead by grasping his hands around Desmond's to forcefully place them onto his hips and then quickly resting them around Desmond's neck. Desmond smiled and rose tinted his cheeks, the undertone of the dance lights highlighting his features, "Are you drunk?" Desmond asked within the space between them, loud enough so they could hear each other. Shaun laughed and squeezed closer as they shuffled their feet to the slowness of the music, "Are you? You haven't retracted from my presence yet." Desmond smiled, his scar so visible within this light, "Well I like this song and you so it's a win-win I suppose." Shaun routinely rolled his eyes at the ditsy man.
Desmond sighed as the music flowed through the atmosphere. He pressed his forehead against Shaun's, leaning into his body while he hooked his hands around Shaun's hips. He let himself disappear within the music, Shaun, and the bar's aura. Shaun raised his hands from the lower of Desmonds neck to underneath his ears and pulled him in for their soft kiss. Desmond leaned into it without hesitation or resistance, naturally fitting his shape to Shaun's. Shaun smiled into the press of Desmond's lips. Desmond made sure to thank Shaun later for pushing the group to get out and enjoy their night.
The song faded out as Desmond pulled away from Shaun, his hands still hooked onto him, refusing to release. Rebecca and Lucy approached snickering playfully at their loving display, "I think we should be heading back. Can't be out for too long." Lucy noted, pushing her blonde hair back after it fell out of her bun from their relaxing night. Shaun released his grip on Desmond and dug in his pocket for a couple euros and slid them to the bartender before they exited.
The night sky had become painted with more stars and the moon was higher, the view back made the groups night complete. Desmond couldn't help but cling on to Shaun while they walked back. For balance of course.

Since I’m starting my senior year of highschool in two weeks, comment some of your favourite Assassins Creed quotes (preferably from the games, can be silly or serious) so I can have some ideas for my yearbook quote.
Please cite the character that said them though in case I also want to do so 😭

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood
"All we need is a cause to fight for. And for me, that cause is you."
As I’ve been reading a lot about the Crusades recently, it seemed a natural progression to try playing Assassin’s Creed for the first time since the franchise began a decade and a half ago.
It was quite the effort for me to force myself to take a break before starting Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood after finishing AC2. I wanted to know what happens next so very badly - and my first thought on starting ACB was: this doesn't disappoint.
While the mechanics remain largely the same, the graphics have once again gotten an upgrade - all of sequence 1 had me going holy shit, this is cinematic as well as wow, they're really pulling out all the hero stops. And if that somehow fails to impress, the first present day sequence had me thinking these characters have personalities for the first time since the series began. Desmond was a blank, passive slate in AC1 and only just starting to show signs of being otherwise in AC2, but here Desmond is - finally - an independent actor with just the right level of snark to make me go yeah, I actually like this guy. Lucy too seems something like other than an obvious Templar plant - a like she's actually struggling with her inevitable betrayal - and Rebecca and Shawn are more than just snark.
There's much I love about ACB: the main plot is interesting but oddly short. There are about a thousand side quests, so it's not exactly a short game, but I can't help but think incorporating at least some of them into the main storyline would have made a bit more sense. The Borgia Towers offer an interesting set of challenges, and recruiting the brotherhood is a concept I'd like to have seen more of in more detail (training missions with the Mentor? Ezio spreading his influence more slowly across Europe instead of suddenly being able to send his trainees across the world? the recruits themselves having personalities and backgrounds and motivations?) Even renovating Rome doesn't start to feel gimmicky until you're buying the Coliseum.
And yet I don't love it quite as much as AC2 - and I think it largely comes down to the fact that all of Ezio's personal grown happened in the former, with little room left in ACB for any positive, meaningful growth. We don't see Ezio struggle with the fact that his choice to leave Rodrigo alive in the Vatican lead to the destruction of his home for a second time. We don't see him struggle to be a leader to his burgeoning brotherhood, he already is one. We have peak narrative symmetry starting with a siege and ending with a siege, and yet only the first stirs the emotions - Cesare has lasted this long because he's always conveniently in the wrong place, not because he's a satisfying or interesting boss.
In short, I love older Ezio (who somehow manages to be at peak attractiveness throughout the game, going so far as to complain when someone says he should slow down because he's older; that will never not be hilarious). I just wish he had a bit more meat to work with in ACB.
It's not all unicorns and rainbows though. The number of times I accidentally called a horse instead of flicking on eagle vision or speaking to a merchant is in the thousands. The number of debilitating gut wounds Ezio has recovered from is starting to verge on comically unrealistic. The number of plot points that are touched on - why was La Volpe so willing to assume Machiavelli was the traitor with comparatively scant evidence? How does one build a brotherhood of assassins? How did Claudia learn to wield a knife in the first place? - but quickly glossed over is frustrating. I could have done with a smaller Rome and more fleshed out plot. And the bits where you have to use the apple at the end simply failed to satisfy.
Yet I love it. Not in the way I think I'll always love AC2, but it's a solid game. Short, but solid. I enjoyed playing it and would loved to have seen more, but I'm not disappointed with what we got.
(Though I was shocked by Lucy's death. Yes, she was an obvious Templar plant, but I'd like to have seen her explain herself before we reached Redemption Equals Death. I'm eager to see the fallout in ACR... but not eager enough to continue forgoing errands and chores that I've been putting off for AC2 and ACB before beginning.)
4.5 of 5 stars - definite replay value, but not the head-exploding awesome of AC2.

i am... so close to just playing ac2 again... i just finished revelations earlier today and man, idk how i feel about it yet? it went by so fast, the whole time i felt like i was still at the beginning and only getting started, then all of a sudden i was at sequence 8 and 9, sprinting towards the end. it felt very short for some reason? or like there wasn't a big sense of progression within the story? like i said, for the majority of the game i was waiting for the plot to thicken and then it ended lmao. also i was under the impression i would have more missions per sequence and then i was always flabbergasted when another sequence came and went with way fewer missions than i was anticipating. also i wish there was more yusuf :'//
rn im planning on replaying brotherhood, since i only played it on pc and now i have the chance to play on ps3 :') i do want to play every game in ezio's trilody twice at least, once on pc once on ps3. already did it with ac2 (which is why i am battling the urge to do it again, i need to at least PRETEND i am normal about this italian whore). after my replay of bh i will probably start ac3 and then begin revelations on pc at the same time?
also, i noticed that while i was playing ac2 for a second time i enjoyed it a lot more? for some reason knowing where i was in the story and where it was going made it more fun for me? it also made me better at "balancing" the side content with the main story. i guess its because it made the playthrough less chaotic for me, since i knew what i was doing this time around and didn't have to worry about ending a sequence before i did all the additional stuff i had in it.
and since brotherhood's story didn't stick with me as much as ac2's did, maybe playing it a second time when i know whats going to happen will make me appreciate it more than i initially did. at least that's what im hoping for.
sorry for the essay, here's a wip or the ezioleo rqs im working on, as a treat ^^

modern gang thoughts of the day:
there are three different boxes of picked off salad and pickles. either someone bought extra salad (???) or everyone hates soggy lettuce and someone really doesn't like tomatoes there's a cup with something in it. options are, someone just used it to stash a fork or smth after using, OR someone drinks out of a straw, OR someone had smth that needed stirring, like tea they got, decorated napkins??? omg????? two water bottles and no soda. Lucy either banned soda cus sugar bad or they REALLY need to run groceries that's not a burnt sandwich, shadow rendering in ACB is bad speaking of, that's four burgers and two round sandwiches, which makes me think sourdough bread. very european, nice touch. four burgers and five boxes total, someone was starving and wanted seconds. at least two people seem to eat burgers with fork and knife. unhinged detail, i love them so much.

Check Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood off of my list - I am now done with it!
Some of the cutscenes near the end were fantastic, despite some of the gameplay being a tad frustrating at times. Still love free-roaming through Rome; definitely a favorite location for me now. Overall, a good game, I’d say!
Can’t wait to start Revelations!
