Just today I‘ve realized that there will be fan meetings with freca and I’m soooo excited. Also realized that Ralf Aron will be racing too, totally forgot that he‘s racing in the ADAC GT Masters! (What if… (small what if) Paul will be there too?(kind of delusional of me I know))

Carrie Schreiner announced as second ART Grand Prix racer for inaugural F1 Academy season

ART Grand Prix have confirmed German racer Carrie Schreiner as their second of three drivers for the inaugural F1 Academy season, partnering Lena Buhler.  Schreiner, 24, began her career in karting, becoming the first female to win the 2012 ADAC Kart Masters in the X30 Junior Category. After competing in British and German F4 in 2016, she switched to GT and endurance racing, claiming both the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East (Pro-Am) and DMV Gran Turismo Touring Car Cup (GT3 Class) titles in 2018.  READ MORE: First F1 Academy driver announced as Swiss racer Lena Buhler joins ART Grand Prix Schreiner also became the first woman to win a race in the selective Porsche Sports Cup and in 2021, she finished fifth in the Italian GT Championship.  Reflecting on her move to F1 Academy, Schreiner said: “It’s a great honour to be driving for ART Grand Prix. Not many teams have the amount of records they do, or have been champion so many times. I am proud to be joining the list of their drivers and excited about what we can achieve together. I think it’s an important step that F1 has its own championship for women. “The car is quite similar to an F4 car and I had some experience in this category a few years ago. It will certainly be fun to drive the car with the new aero and with a team like ART. I have the best requirements I need to perform well. Born 10 March 1995 in Dronten, The Netherlands, Beitske began karting at the age of 12. In 2010 she was a champion in the KZ2 class in the WSK Master Series and in 2011 she finished 3th in the KZ1 class in the WSK Master Series. In her first car race she won despite a 25-second longer pitstop and a drive-through penalty. She joined the Red Bull Junior Team in 2013 but was dropped again after the season. In 2017 she joined the BMW Junior Team. She was the 2019 W Series Vice-Champion. She races for Sirin Racing this season alongside fellow Dutch driver and newcomer Emely de Heus.

“I can’t wait to get to the first race of the new W Series season as part of an all-Dutch driver line-up with Emely. Last year was tough and I had some setbacks, but now I’m ready to be back at the front.”

BENJAMÍN HITES SIGUE EN LA LUCHA POR UN PODIO FINAL EN EL GT MASTERS DE ALEMANIA

-La pole position del nacional en la Carrera 1 y el octavo lugar este domingo tras un problema eléctrico, colocó a la dupla chileno-italiana en el cuarto puesto del ranking general.

SANTIAGO / SPIELBERG / Austria / 24 de septiembre de 2023.- Un fin de semana de dulce y de agraz tuvo el piloto Benjamín Hites y su compañero italiano Marco Mapelli durante la quinta fecha doble del Campeonato GT Masters de Alemania que se disputó en el circuito Red Bull Ring de Austria, donde la dupla del equipo Grasser Racing Team quedó cuarta en el ranking general y a pocos puntos del podio final de la temporada que será el 21 y 22 de octubre.

Luego de la pole position y la victoria conseguida en la Carrera 1, este domingo amaneció nublado y con lluvia en Estiria, localidad donde está ubicado el circuito. Pero además, la organización de la carrera comunicó cerca de la medianoche del sábado la desclasificación del Lamborghini Huracán #63 porque le faltaban 250cc de gasolina del total de 2 litros al terminar la prueba. Fue un duro golpe para el equipo que despertó este domingo con la mala noticia. También se informó de la desclasificación del segundo lugar obtenido por Salman Owega y Elias Seppänen por estar el Mercedes-AMG bajo el peso mínimo requerido.

Luego del “error” sabatino, se mantuvo oficialmente la pole del chileno que le dio importantes puntos para el ranking. En la Carrera 2 de este domingo largó Marco Mapelli desde la primera línea de la grilla con el segundo mejor tiempo. Sin embargo, el Lamborghini arrojó un problema eléctrico desde la partida que le restó potencia durante toda la prueba. Mapelli sólo alcanzó a defender la segunda posición los primeros cinco minutos hasta entregar el auto a Benja Hites en el séptimo puesto transcurrida media hora de competencia bajo la lluvia.

La Carrera 2 se la adjudicó el binomio alemán integrado por Michael Joos-Christian Engelhart con 1 hora 02 minutos 55 segundos 100 milésimas. Hites-Mapelli cruzó la meta octavo para sumar los puntos necesario para el ranking totalizando 127 unidades. Líder del certamen quedó la pareja Elias Seppänen-Salman Owega con 158 puntos; segundo los alemanes Finn Gahritz-Sven Müller con 138; y tercero los germanos Jannes Fittje-Nico Menzel con 135.

DECLARACIONES

Gottfried Grasser, director del equipo GRT: “El equipo realizó una actuación perfecta el sábado. La puesta a punto fue perfecta. Benja y Marco estuvieron fantásticos. Es muy frustrante que se nos haya negado la victoria. Comenzamos con el estanque lleno de combustible y eso es todo lo que podemos hacer. Según el reglamento, después de la carrera deben quedar dos litros de combustible a bordo, pero nos faltaron 240cc en el estanque. Las reglas son las reglas, pero es triste que hayamos perdido la victoria por esta situación, porque esta cantidad de combustible no hizo ninguna diferencia en la pista. Este domingo, tuvimos una pérdida de potencia desde la primera vuelta, lo que significó que no era posible más. Analizaremos este problema y lo daremos todo en la fecha final en Hockenheimring para terminar la temporada en lo más alto”.

Benjamin Hites: “El fin de semana tuvo un comienzo fantástico, pero luego las cosas se nos fueron cuesta abajo. Teníamos un gran coche y estaba muy contento con la pole position. En la primera carrera tuvimos el control de la prueba y fue realmente decepcionante perder la victoria después. En la segunda carrera no tuvimos ninguna oportunidad debido a un problema desde el principio. En la parada en boxes intentamos arreglarlo, pero no fue posible. Desgraciadamente, la suerte no estuvo de nuestro lado”.

Marco Mapelli: “Benja hizo un gran trabajo el sábado y me hice cargo del con una buena ventaja. Tuve que tener un poco de cuidado con los neumáticos porque teníamos un coche muy pesado debido al equilibrio de rendimiento y al lastre del éxito de Sachsenring. Pero nuestro ritmo era lo suficientemente rápido, así que no tuve que correr ningún riesgo con los neumáticos. Me alegré mucho cuando conseguimos la victoria para GRT. El equipo trabaja muy duro y no ha tenido un año fácil. Es una pena lo sucedido el sábado”.

El piloto argentino Ezequiel Companc, con carrera principalmente en competencias GT y resistencia, debutará en la Extreme E en el Energy X-Prix de Punta del Este, Uruguay en el Xite Energy Racing como compañero de equipo de Tamara Molinaro. Companc, piloto y director del equipo de GT Madpanda Motorsport tiene experiencia en diferentes series motor como la Blancpain Series, la ADAC GT Masters y el GT World Series y también en los esports. También ha participado en carreras de duración en Estados Unidos como las 24 Horas de Daytona. Los Companc son una familia de tradición motor en Argentina con participaciones en carreras GT, el WRC y el Dakar.

"Estoy agradecido por la oportunidad de correr en Extreme E y estoy muy contento de unirme a Xite Energy Racing para la última ronda de la Temporada 2 de Extreme E en Uruguay" comentó Ezequiel Companc, que se convertirá en el primer piloto latinoamericano en correr en Extreme E. En Xite Energy Racing, Companc reemplazará a Timo Scheider que volverá a sus funciones como piloto de campeonato.
