@horseyneigh2002's excellent ADDC!
this one sure did take me a while, lol. I had thought that painting very geometric, straight-line letters would be easier than the round ones I'd done before, but turns out it isn't.
Also, time blindness. At one point I set it aside to dry overnight and then resumed painting over a week later.
...I also just looked at the date on which I completed it and whoops I've been meaning to mail this out for like six weeks.
But! It is complete, and my good friend Horsey has it now.

Some icon ideas I had for my ADDC server. I have a few more I’m thinking of but I’m thinking of going for more of a pattern design.

Hamura Tai Lung. I wasn't satisfied with the angle and pose that Tai Lung has in the Kung Fu Panda movie poster, so I redrew him to better capture what he would look like. In the poster I just recolored Tai Lung's fur to match Hamura's suit, but I guess since Tai Lung is a clothes wearer anyways, maybe he could pull off the entire suit? I think the hair here makes more sense.
But now that I think about the line where Genda says Shintani was like his son, maybe it makes more sense for Shintani to be Tai Lung to Genda's Shifu? OH and that works better with Yagami Ta-Po being the actual Dragon Warrior/star lawyer/ADDC investigator!
Regardless, the relationship between Matsugane and Hamura is one of the best written parts of Judgment in my opinion. Maybe only the Tai Lung and Shifu arc has the same emotional impact.

Pablo Quintanilla (Honda) 5:00

And with that I have finished Judgment. Wow. Honestly that entire finale segment was insane.
Like finally cornering Ichinose in the court segment was so goddamn satisfying, especially his face when Hamura walked in, and then Yagami leaving it to Hoshino was so good! I don't think I mentioned it on here but I really, really love Hoshino, he's precious and I loved his arc.
But then chasing down and fighting Kuroiwa at the ADDC... Holy shit, that was intense, the dude was terrifying. Like, I got so used to seeing him as calm, composed and a perfectionist, but then in this he's just full-blown unhinged, yet still so deadly professional in the way he got through everyone in his way. And goddamn, his boss music is so good, I'm gonna need to find it later because I was too preoccupied fighting him.
And then Shono... Ngl, Shono is one of the most intriguing antagonists I've ever seen, mostly because of the way he's handled. Like, Ichinose and Kuroiwa were treated as the big bads of the story while Shono almost felt like a side character, and yet this wimpy scientist with good intentions was right in the middle of all this insanity, none of this would have happened if he didn't start it. And the fact that he was so desperate to believe he was right to the point he was practically deluding himself... Honestly makes him terrifying to me, I don't know how to describe it but it freaked me out.
Not to mention, the one thing I couldn't figure out was why the victims' eyes were removed, I just figured it was something Kuroiwa did to make it look like the work of a serial killer and throw off suspicions of human experimentation. But right at the end there with the example, it all made so much sense.
Also, I looked at the cast as they were scrolling through the credits, seriously?! Mark Whitten voiced Sugiura?! I thought the voice sounded familiar but I'm so used to his Seteth kinda voice that it didn't even occur to me that it could be him, he did amazing! And I mentioned that Kim's voice sounded familiar but I couldn't remember the guy's name, so I asked my mum about a role of his and she reminded me, turns out I was right! Kim was voiced by James Hong! I never expected him to be cast in a game like this, especially as such a minor, and honestly annoying, role!
But yeah, I really, really enjoyed this game, the pacing was a little weird at time, especially with the way it would randomly force you into side cases in the middle of the main story, but I still had a lot of fun. I wanna check out the sequel, just have to see if I can get ahold of a copy.

Just had this random thought
Remember when I wrote a fic about Kyoko Amasawa doing a research project on the ADDC Scandal from the first game, and getting Yagami to give her an overview of the scandal? I just had another thought about her doing research and this idea came to me: What if Kyoko decided to meet Hamura in prison to get his perspective on the scandal for her assignment? And Yagami, despite trying to talk her down, gives in and agrees?
Man, imagine how that visit would go:
Yagami accompanies Kyoko to the prison as a responsible adult, like, “just let me know if you wanna leave, and we’ll go”
To his surprise, Kyoko isn’t even a little bit scared of meeting an actual yakuza captain in prison (“a truly skilled detective won’t back down from danger”)
Meanwhile Hamura’s all confused as to why the heck this high school girl is trying to ask him questions for a school assignment, and why she’s not even scared of him either
But at the same time, he can’t help but be reminded of Yagami when he looks at Kyoko, so he humours her and answers her questions for him, not even maliciously either
And Yagami’s just super confused and shocked when he sees Hamura actually being pretty civil to Kyoko, who’s listening patiently and taking notes while hearing him talk
And Kyoko isn’t even scared of Hamura or about the stories he shares with her about the Mole; instead, she’s super fascinated by everything, and even gives Hamura her best wishes when her visit ends.
What do you all think of this?
