Honestly the concept of being gnc has been more freeing to me as an agender person than the concept of being agender itself.

I've always worried about how people perceive me because of how my family treated me, both when I was a boy and when I was a girl. After coming out as Agender, I still felt like it was the same as before. I felt like I acted too "girly" to be taken seriously and not be seen as anything but a girl. I felt like I presented and leaned into being masculine too much that it didn't feel like I was being myself. I saw people say I had to be completely androgynous in order to be what I am, but being myself without expectations was the main reason I wanted to be Agender in the first place.

Even though I have a lack of gender and just really don't care, the concept of gender nonconformity helps me feel comfortable in my own skin. Gender doesn't matter to me. And I don't want my past experiences to keep me feeling like I have to present a certain way to keep people happy. I want myself to be happy, and I want the people who care about me to see me happy too, as my authentic self.

i'm so fucking happy to hear that. i hope that you get to be happy.
