Happy Thoughts Thursday!!
What are your characters' thoughts on multi-person relationships?
I know for a fine fact that Barratt Rowe is the single most open person ever. They wouldn't give a crap about monogamy. Tbh, love for them is something that's not a singular thing. I bet if they could they'd find themself in a decent poly relationship, and they'd be happy!
Kelvyn is also open to the idea, but his boyfriend AJ prefers being able to settle down with one person and live a life without the stress of having to choose, so he's settled with just the one guy. A poly relationship wouldn't be off the cards for him, though...

Home loan fears demolish house builder share prices | City & Business | Finance
New Post has been published on https://petnews2day.com/pet-industry-news/pet-financial-news/home-loan-fears-demolish-house-builder-share-prices-city-business-finance/
Home loan fears demolish house builder share prices | City & Business | Finance
Barratt, the UK’s largest builder of homes, said it had seen an impact from mortgage rate hikes and reduced availability.
It comes as a survey today from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors warned of “storm clouds” gathering.
The number of would-be home buyers fell in September for the fifth month running, with properties coming on the market also down and members predicting prices will dip.
Simon Rubinsohn, RICS’ chief economist, said: “The turmoil in mortgage markets in recent weeks has compounded the increasing level of economic uncertainty resulting from higher energy bills and the wider cost of living crisis, in shifting the dial in the housing market.”
Barratt also blamed the cost of living crisis for a sharp year-on-year fall in reservations.
It added: “The outlook for the year is less certain with the availability and pricing of mortgages critical to the long-term health of the UK housing market.”
Barratt’s share price slumped as much as 8% in early trading, despite chief executive David Thomas saying full-year profits were still on track to be in line with current expectations.
The update triggered a sell-off in other house builders’ stocks, with Berkeley, Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon closing down between 3.1 and 6.2 percent.
It comes amid nervousness among investors that the housing market is heading for a sharp slowdown.
Lenders have pulled hundreds of mortgage deals since Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng mini-Budget last month to concerns over borrowing costs.
Sophie Lund-Yates, an analyst at investment platform Hargreaves Lansdown, said: “A deterioration in the affordability of mortgages, especially for first-time buyers, is just about the biggest spanner that could be thrown at the builders.”
Russ Mould, investment director at broker AJ Bell, said: “If government ministers needed any evidence of how policy missteps can affect not just the financial markets but the real economy, then Barratt Developments’ first quarter results statement provided it in spades.”

Build UK contractors hold payment times during Covid-19
Build UK contractor members have battled through the coronavirus outbreak and maintained an average of 36 days to pay invoices in the first half of the year.
On average, main contractors now pay 92% of their invoices within 60 days and 75% within terms.
Murphy, Vinci and Morgan Sindall rank as the industry’s top three prompt payers, paying invoices in 25-27 days.
Tumblr media
They are joined by Mace, Osborne and Amey as the half dozen main contractors paying within 30 days.
Among the industry major commercial clients Landsec and British Land achieved 17 days averages, with Bellway and Barratt leading the house builders at 25 and 26 days.
A spokesman for Build UK said: “Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, the CLC has been clear that maintaining cash flow through the industry is critical, and the latest results indicate the largest companies in the sector have taken note and are playing their part.”

AJ Barratt Home of the Future by ZCD Architects http://bit.ly/2ojmVuV

“This scheme which was a finalist in the AJ Barratt Home of the Future competition developed the idea of one building that can be adapted into four homes, responding to the four stages of family life, with each home is derived from an identical base. The home is designed to be able to grow and adapt over the lifetime of the family, according to changing need. The homes have been designed to be adaptable to changing technology and for the community to be engaged in managing and controlling their shared environment in such a way that will respond to local needs as well as foster a strong community. Over time, as the neighbourhood changes, each home will retain a sense of individual identity, privacy and arrangement of internal spaces that meet the need of the family. The strategy for extending the home allows for customer choice within a guiding set of clear design principles. The idea is to develop a unique construction system with Barratt Homes that will bring to the market a building that is capable of growing and adapting over its lifespan. It will be designed to anticipate improving thermal performance requirements as well as resolving structural, party wall, weathering and waterproofing requirements in its abutments and connections. This process of developing and refining our idea for the benefit of creating a product that is marketable and profitable means it has potential to be a truly innovative design. As a home of the future it responds to changing family structures, will provide greater support to homebuyers through the option of home improvement and provides external/shared spaces derived from ongoing observational research at ZCD into how people use shared space in housing schemes across the UK.“

Dreaming of financial independence? I think these 3 growth stocks are just getting started
Having enough wealth to live on without needing to work sounds very nice indeed, doesn’t it?
Thing is, that level of freedom — a.k.a. financial independence — could be achieved by many of us. We either don’t know it or opt not to believe it.
It requires sacrifices, of course. That daily coffee, expensive holiday, brand new TV… the more you spend, the less you can invest.
To reach financial independence quickly, however, you also need to pick stocks delivering high levels of growth. Here are some examples I like.
High-growth stars
Keystone Law (LSE: KEYS) has made many friends since coming to the market. The legal company’s share price is now well over 150% higher than back in November 2017.
With a market cap of just £150m, I think there’s room for it to go even higher.
Back in January, the company announced that it had “continued to trade strongly” in H2 and that it was likely that profits would be “comfortably ahead of current market expectations”.
Confirmation of this is expected on 8 May. Regardless of how the market reacts in the short term (some profit-taking might ensue), I think this is one company that should definitely be on growth-focused Fools’ radars.
Ongoing investment in its infrastructure and ability to attract new lawyers and clients should allow it to continue grabbing share from other mid-market law firms going forwards.
My next pick is robotic process automation specialist Blue Prism (LSE: PRSM) – a company I bought a stake in not long after it listed.
It’s clear that the AIM-listed company’s software solutions — which help perform boring, repetitive tasks previously undertaken by a human (freeing the latter to do something more worthwhile) — are proving exceedingly popular. Revenue was £55.2m in FY18 — up 125%.
But it’s not just about the amount of time that companies are able to save. Blue Prism’s ‘robots’ never get sick, never need holidays and, let’s be honest, never complain.
With firms such as Coca Cola and Lloyds Bank already reaping the benefits of using its services, I continue to think this company will thrive.
Investment platform AJ Bell (LSE: AJB) is my final pick of stocks that I think will go from strength to strength.
The Salford-based business is one of the few IPO success stories in recent times with shares now trading for almost double the price they were back in December.
With interest rates on savings likely to remain low, it’s unsurprising that AJ Bell has more people signing up to its services and investing their money to generate better returns.
Total customer numbers increased 5% (to almost 215,000) in the three months to the end of March. Total assets under administration also climbed 8% to £47.7bn.
Interim results are due next month with the company predicting its financial performance will be “slightly ahead of current market expectations”.
Warning!
Nothing is guaranteed in investing. That’s why it’s vital to mention that all of the above trade on lofty valuations, making them arguably more risky to hold given that high expectations are easily dashed.
Keystone and AJ Bell trade on 40 and 58 times earnings respectively. Blue Prism doesn’t make a profit but is still valued at £1.5bn.
So, while I rate all three (and own stock in one), that’s not to say I wouldn’t prefer to wait for another general market wobble before buying.
