#ALSO....MAN.......i think it would be such a good twist if akane knows more than she seems to know like idk if the execution would be good

I’m interested in your thoughts on ztd since you said you don’t think it’s that bad (I have never played a Zero Escape game btw)
Hmmmm. I’m probably gonna state some unpopular opinions in this but sure.
So I’m gonna start by saying I don’t think this entire game was one big asspull. There are several, but lots of stuff had been hinted at in earlier entries, and… unfortunately mind hack was foreshadowed in the very first entry. And sadly, it makes the twist that Cradle Pharmaceuticals was in the pocket of Brother which I didn’t like in vlr make more sense because it would mean Delta gathering more information on that. I think it’s the way it’s written that’s so infuriating. It’s essentially a last minute plot device that isn’t really properly explained, and doesn’t even have any bearing on the plot, which is better than if it was a huge inescapable part of the plot, but good lord it feels contrived.
I also heard a lot of decrying before playing this game that everyone was ooc but I… respectfully disagree. It felt more like a sense of not knowing the characters as well as I thought I did and trying to adjust my view. Akane is not running the game for the first time so it changes the way she acts. She’s vehemently against it when Junpei wants to kill everyone and yeah. Fair. She did kill people as part of the plan in 999 but for her, those were people who put her through misery and killed her. I can understand the shift in tone. She’s willing to kill to achieve her goals but she’s not bloodthirsty, and she’s in this timeline specifically to have the life she couldn’t in the others. She wants a fairy tale future, and she’ll even ruin another chance with Junpei to have this ideal. This is Akane Kurashiki, wanting things desperately to go back to normal after the nonary game, when they never can and never will.
Sigma I was expecting more mad scientist and evil vibes out of, but I think it’s more fascinating that he’s just himself but overly serious. He’s still a self sacrificial goofy dude, and knowing who he is and what he’s done makes it all the more stomach sinking when you see that, despite the change in tone, he IS Sigma. Sigma did what he did not out of any sort of malice or hatred towards anyone, not even for his children who suffered, but because he loved the world and everyone in it so much that it was worth everything he did to save it, which is so in line with his character in VLR, but to a horrific degree.
Also Junpei being emo. I’m fine with it. He went through a death game. Old man Junpei in VLR is a good person overall but he has had moments where if it came down to Quark or everyone else, he would choose Quark and this is the same but with Akane.
The new characters are where it starts to fall apart a bit…
So I think Diana was a good character and predecessor to Luna. I don’t really have much to complain about with her. She’s a kind person. Kind enough to kill six billion people. And that’s a brilliant premise of Sigmas love interest because, for the reasons listed above, she’s the perfect foil. Kind enough to save the world at the cost of people close to you and kind enough to doom it for the people close to you.
Carlos is also a good character. Sometimes all you need is a fun goofy dude who loves his friends and his little sister. I also think he’s a parallel to Aoi in a sense. Akane is close to some dude who won’t shut up about how important his sister is, and there’s moments where she directly calls to how he’d do anything for his sister, and all I can think is if she’s thinking of Aoi in that moments. Aoi would do anything for her. He doesn’t get much in the development department despite the fact that he’s one the only ones who remembers most of the timelines though, which is dissapointing. I liked that they took away the decision to have him shoot delta at the end. That was his choice in this world, and nothing else mattered to him at the moment.
Q is also a pretty good character. He’s a sweet kid, and I enjoyed his arc where he learns his role in the game and his nature, and still wants to form relationships and be happy.
And then you have the last two…. Mira and Eric
Mira had me fascinated when I learnt her backstory. A serial killer who wanted to know what a heart is. That’s cool! I can’t wait to see more! How she develops or gets worse! She has a deep sadness that she herself can’t understand, and she does love Eric, but not for him. She doesn’t even know what she wants or even seem to understand what she’s doing is wrong. It’s a beautifully toxic relationship. But we really don’t get anymore besides two scenes. I also thought they were gonna drop the reveal that she killed Eric’s mom because of the parallels between her first victim and him, but it didn’t really come out. Sad.
Eric is a character that I can see where a lot of the hate comes from, and I can also say he’s not a good person… but he’s a very interesting and sympathetic character. He’s gone through so much trauma, he has essentially become just like his dad, and he thinks love will fix him, because his dad was so happy when mom was alive, obviously this pretty woman will make him better too. We don’t really… get any conclusion though. He flip flops between finally calming down and being better to Q than his father was to him to rageaholic murderer, and the game ends with his kind send off to him which after all we’ve seen doesn’t feel like it’ll stick, and seemingly blissfully ignorant that his girlfriend wants to murder him. Again, like Mira, this was a character we could’ve watched get worse or better but we didn’t get anything.
So yeah the two extras on Q team didn’t really develop. I understand it’s hard to have characters in a story with multiple timelines have consistent development, but give us something man. Or better yet, just replace them with old characters who’d we already be able to recognize as full characters. Have Aoi there. It’d make the parallels to Carlos more obvious. And maybe Lotus, since this sort of mars mission seems up her alley. It’d also be very funny for these two to see each other again, they see each other on the base and spiderman point at each other. Oh, I actually love the idea of an Aoi Lotus Q team. I want this now.
But yeah then there’s the worst character of all… Delta.
Delta fucking sucks man. In 999 and VLR, Zero was the highlight, and now they follow up Akane and Sigmas act with this guy. The ‘complex motives’ stuff he keeps spouting is the kind of thing you put in your first draft with a ‘rewrite later.’ next to it. Like seriously? That’s what you come up with? You could’ve drawn from resentment of being abandoned by his parents, maybe have him bring up the whole ‘Timelines you shift to have the consequences left behind’ thing incorporated while he looks directly at Akane because he can’t shift and will have to deal with whatever choices his sister and father will make. I dunno. Do SOMETHING. Also why did he kill the dog? To make him more evil? Uchikoshi why did he kill the dog-
I like his design in the Zero costume though. It looks like a plague doctor which is very fitting. He’s still a dissapointing reveal of Brother though. And hey, if Dio was a clone of him why did he have blonde hair? Why did he have blonde hair Uchikoshi-
Also the models. They’re an improvement on VLR… but still bad. I’ll give them credit on how they stylized them a bit. They have defined lines that makes them look like sketches, and a very cool cell shaded style. When paused the game looks good! Only when paused though. The second these guys start moving it is laughably bad. Sigh. I miss the first games sprites.
But anyways. I think the game had a lot of stellar moments. Akane making her decision to save the world from R6 hurt, and I also adored all of c teams interactions. Diana giving the phone call that reveals she was the one in vlr who we heard declare she’d kill 6 billion had my heart in my stomach. Carlos telling everyone he was friendly while covered in blood… was hilarious.
I think overall the game had great scenes to set up VLR and while the near ending and villain reveal were incredibly bad, I think I liked where it left off. The characters make the decision to create their own future, and break free from the shifting and loops we always see, and for finality’s sake, Carlos pulls the trigger without any alternate routes. That’s a good ending. Delta still sucks but that’s a damn good ending.
So overall, I think the game has some dropped arcs and a woefully bad villain in a game that lives and dies by its villains, but it is NOT the worst ending to a series I’ve ever seen, go watch the dr3 anime and then tell me that this ruined the series for you.

I am hopelessly tempted to make a Zero Escape rewrite in some way… or at least throw ideas at a headcanon board of things I have accepted as canon in my interpretation.
999 is pretty good and I wouldn’t change much about it besides removing some weird anime stuff I’m not a fan of and making Ace’s motives ( haha funny ) more complex than what it is in game because in game it’s a little…? Also give Lotus a shirt… and remove all the weird orientalist stuff the story would not change at all.
VLR is such a good game as well but there are a few plot holes 😭 although tbh they could be fixed by just moving around a few reveals and tweaking a few things? For example, having the characters note that things feel more light and that they feel more weird when moving. If they reveal the radical-6 thing a little earlier the characters could presume that they’re all infected and that thats a side effect. And then at the end their processing speed is explained and their worries about their strange movement and lightness of objects by the twist at the end. Also just. Change Sigma’s character design. Get rid of the weird eye thing he has because that’s one part where I’m like “okay. He would definitely notice that.” And maybe I don’t know, just change some materials in the facility so that they aren’t reflective? Instead of the puddle at the end have Akane give Sigma a mirror and have one of the characters note the lack of reflective surfaces. This may be a bit of a cop out but it’s the only way the twist really works? Also I know some people make the point that other characters would describe Sigma’s appearance to him… but they literally do that in the game and honestly if Sigma is just too stupid to not understand it tbh ( he is, he’s trying his best! Don’t make fun of him! ) and getting rid of the weird thing he has on his eye he wouldn’t really have any features that other characters would describe out of nowhere. There’s two old men characters so they wouldn’t just say “the old man” when referring to him, he looks awfully similar to Junpei so his only defining feature in this case would be his clothing, which is the same as when he was kidnapped. Sigma never really asks questions ( at least ones that are answered ) when others point out his age, frankly pretty obviously. He just assumes they’re making fun of him, and I enjoy Sigma slander so I think in my rewrite that exists in my mind the characters would just, make fun of him more so it all sort of blends together. Other than that main twist stuff there’s not a lot of issues in the game besides the character designs. ( Alice… Clover… looking at you two ) and character inconsistencies. Sometimes, Alice especially acts incredibly out of character and it can make her incredibly unlikable when she’s not intended to be. Also a lot of the characters just, leave in some bad endings when realistically they wouldn’t. I do love how the game gives you a lot of choices and different endings but for some characters, like K I couldn’t imagine leaving everyone behind, or Clover leaving without Alice, etc. This could honestly be fixed just by rewriting these endings, I do also think it’s inconsistent that Sigma gets tackled when leaving and no one else does, which is often pointed out. Honestly all of these could be solved by rewriting the scenes, or merging these endings with the main timeline, and just having it so that in some cases, picking the other option doesn’t lead to a game over, it just leads to one character being tied up for a lot of that path or them just… being a good person and not leaving the facility. That’s about it with my critique for VLR and what I would change.
God I cannot talk about ZTD right now. It would be so difficult to rewrite that game to be something on par or just under the quality of the former games, while keeping the main structure of the game and it’s twists. I am willing to admit that I am not a good enough writer to do that.

♡ a heart for yo bois : Hawks, Nacir, Dio, Crocodile, Doflamingo :>
For every "♡" I get, I'll give a tip on how to win my muse's heart.
Tumblr media
Be Nessa, I fucking guess- but for real, just be warm, don't push your affection on him, don't be too obvious, or he'll run. Feelings have to grow slowly and worm their way inside his heart. If he feels like you're too attached already, he'll detach himself. The best way to win him is to not try to win him.
Tumblr media
Nacir's a real fucken playaaaaaaaaaaaa, and he takes almost nothing seriously. For him to take someone seriously and consider a relationship- that person would have to be polyamorous, as he is also polyamorous. They'd have to be down to roll down a grassy hill laughing, they'd have to be down getting dirty, and a bit adventurous, and they'd have to be just as playful as the satyr is. He lives life like every day is the last and wants someone that entertains living the same way they would a fair/carnival. Every day with their person must be fun!
And yes, he can care for loved ones on bad days, but he can't be with someone who doesn't try to get better when things go awry.
Tumblr media
I don't know what would compel anyone to win this bitch boy's heart for real. He sucks. Bad. 10/10 would throw him in a cage, then throw the cage at the bottom of a well, close the lid, bury the well and forget about him completely.
I think to win his heart, you must be equally capable of worshiping him and all of his decisions, but also tell him when he's wrong, but in a way that he'll realize it himself and then change his plans. You can't upset him too much, but you also can't be compliant 100% of the time.
It's really a hit-and-miss with Dio, and I'm not sure he is capable of true, romantic love. I wouldn't classify him as romantic, but his love is definitely not the kind anyone with a sane mind would want.
Tumblr media
I have come to learn, through 20 years of roleplaying this Bastard Unlimited, that he falls for 2 types of people.
The Annoying One That Makes Him Want To Protecc ( @muselexum )
The Annoying One That Makes Him Want To Fight (@conquiistador / doflamingos)
Crocodile will fall in love with people that BOTHER HIM but in a meaningful way only. He fell for Akane because she reminded him of his past, and he's worried she's going down the wrong path. He wants her to not suffer as much as he did and wants to protect her, even from himself.
Meanwhile, he falls in love with Doflamingo because the man has the confidence and strength he desires because he thinks that someone who can pursue his goals so blatantly and confidently is nothing short of a king that deserves his admiration. Crocodile is a romantic at heart and soul, despite the dryness of his outward mask.
To make him fall in love, Be In His Space. Invade it in a way that he can't push you out, either by reaching his old dried heart or by being stronger than him, pushier than him, and acting like you know all of it.
He's a complex character, but he's so easy to read. He can try to keep his poker face all he wants, there's no hiding his own feelings. Except to Akane apparently but I'm blaming her youth and naivety for that c:
Tumblr media
Similarly to Dio, I cannot see this man having a healthy, loving relationship. Not that he's incapable of love, but he's grown so twisted that I do not believe his ability to love is normal. I think that no matter how much he thinks he loves someone, he could still cut them out of his life without hesitation at a moment's notice.
For that reason, I will not call him romantic, he is just plain bad and not a good choice at all for romance.
To win his heart? Defy him, but be strong enough to back your words without being strong enough to defeat him. He likes them feisty, and he likes a good challenge, but mostly, he likes to show his superiority to people he himself believes to be strong.
A good thing to note is that he tends to be more romantically interested in men for that reason. Women are usually... nice playthings or friends with benefits.

Day in the life of Dana a blog (sick in bed edition)
The comment here could be made “This is the exciting part of your life? How pathetic.” And well.. to counter this statement (that only my awful brain is saying to me) Is well I was sick in bed so YES! I could say absolutely nothing happened to me yesterday but I really don’t take interactions for granted. They are the little things that bring me joy even when I’m sick and they are memorable! So leave me alone brain I’m valid.👌🏻
So here are a few highlights the previous night/last night/ this morning. (These are In no particular order)
1: Erin asking me to explain this Noragami panel about father. Thus starts the “Oh how much I hate father tangent.” I once said that I hate Teru more than father and I “should” check myself on that cause Father is way worse. WAY WORSE. But I still hate Teru more. 😂 (Tbf Father is actually a REALLY GOOD antagonist. I would say one of the best ever. I despise him and what he did to Yukine but I can’t deny that. Like the man literally stole his sons son AND kissed his sons girlfriend WHAT IS THIS MANGA?!)
Then that led me to explain the insanity which was some of these Noragami plot twists and it was a good time. Erin thank you for indulging me. 🤧
2: Speaking of Noragami- Then late at night there was Ami giving me my medicine Lol (Not suit Amane this time but her Norgami manga reactions) GOLD I SAY PURE GOLD. 👌🏻
I got to explain why we don’t trust Kasuma (never trust the Akane look a likes- IM KIDDING! - sort of 👀)
How once again Father is a son of bitch and I have given Ami permission to do with him as she see’s fit. (I said it so it’s ok 😌)
Also she got me to really appreciate some more of the parallels and art style choices of Adachitoka. Very cool shots in the chapter she was reading! 👌🏻 YOUR ALMOST THERE AMI 5 MORE CHAPTERS! Then you get to hysterically cry with me and Mac next month isn’t it great? 🙂
3: I FOUND THE MOST AMAZING TIKTOKER. Tbf I found her before but I didn’t really know how much she’s done. She’s a JJK content creator that summarizes all of the recent chapters. As someone… like me who has no intention of reading the manga she does all the work for me😌 and In the most entertaining way! Especially about the Yuta arc. (Which you all know is the only reason I want to know lol)
Some of her one liners omg- this is probably a new level of a dork for me to gush over a content creators one liners but you know what screw it! She’s super funny.
It doesn’t do it justice when I say it back but the way she talks I can’t explain it’s just highly entertaining! 2 of my favs cause I can't help myself:
“Quick side note. Everyone who underestimates Yuta...in my opinion is… an idiot, because they always end up getting their ass beat-” So true so true👌🏻😂
“If a kid is shoving food down his throat do you tell them to stop? and Yuta’s like “yea... what do you tell children?” I wanna know when's the last time Yuta’s had a normal conversation with anybody? Need to know that immediately.” adafljgjalglgaag I have no idea about this ch but this Yuta’s life ok not having normal conversations with anyone and getting thrown into a school under Gojo’s bullshit not telling him and everyone wanting to murder him the first day cause of Rika and Gojo thinking its funny so yea. Just a day in the life for Yuta my poor boy!! 😂
Also love how I am not alone even MANGA readers are not explicitly told what the heck is going on with Yutas cursed technique and the amount of “Rika’s soul” that’s still with Yuta. I love in one of her videos she address that about people talking in her comment section about “A lot of you guys last week kept telling me that Yuta had made a copy of Rika and thats why Rika still exists, even though the text has literally never explicitly said that...” “Stop making stuff up. Stop it! *wags finger at the screen playfully*” 😂 Ah man, it’s just you had to be there ok? You had to be there! Also this gave me a lesson to not take so much at face value about what is said about Rika until I see it in print in spoilers I find because I don’t trust JJK fandom peeps word as law because most of them don’t even like Rika they want to make stuff up anyways lol. Anyway I just love her. I definitely pressed that follow button!
She’s like as cool as Sidney! (Side note: Sidney was at megacon and ah forget Justin (that’s a joke I love Justin Briner) I am so jealous cause man I would LOVE to meet Sidney. Though it would have been like finding a needle in a haystack cause Sidney was just going as a convention go-er making tiktoks like “If you see me come up and say Hi!” - I wish Sidney I wish you’re so cool 🤧🥺)
Anyway back on topic so this JJK TikToker she also loves TBHK! “I actually used to talk about the Toilet-Bound manga before... and then JJK became like my only personality trait-” “Anyways you are not immune to my Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun propaganda READ THE MANGA!” (I feel called out just by quoting this 👀😂)
But to wrap up. I was really inspired by her genuine enthusiasm for just the stories. Got me thinking about how “damn what’s it like to be a Shounen fan? 🤔 Like an actual Shounen fan! Like imagine only waiting a week? Only a week most times. Like what does that do to your mindset?” Idk It’s just interesting to think about. But even waiting a month no matter what characters… I should really be more excited about just the stories again. I wanna try to be more like her.
Then I had a similar talk with Hana the other day about hyper-fixation on characters, ships and series. About how I’ve been able to to focus and hyper-fixate on 2 or sometimes 3 things at once and not just one which is definitely a new thing for me. But it kinda goes with what I’ll say later about how Ive also been analyzing falling in love with side characters and how that changes things a bit in your mind cause you are not surrounded by content.
This whole discovery just lead to new thought process’s and that’s why it’s a Highlight. (I had a cooler way to say this but it kinda got lost in my ramble but I think that’s good enough) Moving on.
4: I also saw the best fan art on twitter that had me literally going CRAZY! The rest of the night all I could think about (it took up one whole area of my brain) was Rika wearing wearing Yuta’s white uniform Jacket! *just pure screeching* SHES SO TINY (cause you know she's 11)! IT’S SO BIG ON HER!
And I now want to imagine her hands are like lost in the sleeves and she’s flapping them around and wraps herself in a hug. After she puts the collar up to her nose cause it smells like him. I want to imagine this 😭 my brain kinda short circuited after that.
5: Also on that note right after I saw that I had more thoughts to analyze more with Rapid (when I feel better and my brain actually works again) about how if it actually was the “same day she died” or if it was more then one day and REALLY analyze it with factoring in Japan summers and school year and Yuta’s birth date. Cause this is actually driving me crazy. I NEED more insight on this one. (This one is more just a reminder for myself)
6: Then speaking of analyzing- my genius self decided to go for a walk while I was sick and you hear me a bit out of breath and my coat rustling. But I recorded 3 podcasts just for myself lol. Just about “everything” the different manga I’m into and recommends, analyzing more jjk things, analyzing the idea of falling in love with side characters- cause this has been a process for me with Yuta and Rika ok?
And not an easy process at that. I don’t know how people do it! But you don’t chose what characters you fall in love with they chose you. I am on the complete opposite end of the spectrum here with this. Shoe is on the other foot its fascinating!
7: Cat showed me some pics of the recent con that was really great! They had Yuta and Rika there even speckled in merch 🤧. That made me happy. ❤️
And last (I think its last... but definitely not least)
8: I also woke up this morning from not feeling well for 2 days and Lena made me this adorable little Yuta doodle while he’s holding tea out (it can also look like coffee ☕️ 👀) but I think Yuta would want me not be like him get rest and not look dehydrated so it is tea cause he’s totally the kinda character that would do that for you. Just make you tea when you feel icky. 🤧 My baby!
Really Lena you don’t know this yet (I will find the movie for you today with the captions) but he would! That’s exactly In character for him. He’s a really good boy. To everyone 🤧 and I love it so much that made me smile 😭❤️ waking up to that!
Anyway that’s my exciting 2 days .. I think it’s kinda all a blur now after I wrote this. So its a good thing I wrote it down when I did 😂

Be warned: This post will contain spoilers and that I won't hold back on sarcasm towards T * ru and of course if you sense hatred towards him then it is also correct because that's what I feel towards his character.
More notes:This post won't be tagged either, I want it to be on my blog. And visible to my followers. Please also don't reblog it, because it's seriously going to be strong (I think so), so I don't want to cause dramas, but I also want to comment on it and I really have to take it off my chest and also likes are okay if you'll like it
First, he will say that the AidaIro are cunning, but I will not get fooled either.I mean this panel.
Tumblr media
Secondly: You'll be villian for me. No matter if you will be your "arc of redemption"(You are like Suwon to me),that I hate you more than him.
Thirdly:We got what I expected in this chapter. This chapter made me sneer and nothing else.
Now extending my thoughts to 100% will be full of sarcasm. an interpretation of this chapter that I took time to keep in mind, but I never thought that I would be so insensitive.
Of course, "I'll cry" because T * ru cause, he is so hurt! He couldn't have a normal childhood, but was forced to be an exorcist because he is Minamoto's first son. His old man he probably brainwashed him and now he hurt worry that Kou sees him as a bad man - villain, his dear brother whom he pressed against the train, twisted his arm and called him "weak" After all, he said he was "jealous", oh my, how I feel sorry for him. It's not that he's limited and sees all the supernatural as bad. Now we should forgive him for bullying Akane, that he likes to bully the weaker supernatural, that he especially hates Amane and the blatant hypocrite. Let's forgive him because he had a "difficult childhood" or it's "his job" to justify his actions. It's not that he has closed his heart and refuses to see what Kou sees.Kou it's easier to see what Teru can't see . It's not that when Kou wants to understand him, when Kou tries Teru becomes aggressive. It's not like he used Nene for his own purposes. No no! After all,he didn't do anything wrong.T * ru is so misunderstood! It's not that he ironically called Kou "hero" and went to save Aoi like a hero himself. No, not at all. It's not that Kou also wants to protect and be on the side of the person he likes. No, no, but it is Kou who doesn't understand and T * ru understands everything. Yes, Kou is "weak" for being compassionate and wants to understand and help the supernatural! It's not that he has had his own BAD experiences with the supernatural and has no offense at all. No no! It's not like that! He is just "weak" to fill his heart with hatred as T * ru did because that is real strength.
-
now more seriously. It's not like I really don't understand where this is coming from. From the beginning, I suspected there was something wrong with him. I understand he had a difficult childhood, but in my eyes it changes absolutely nothing. For me his deeds are unforgivable!
He is so stupid that he is believed to be infallible and as a big brother he knows better what is good and bad for Kou. Yes, he has experience as an exorcist, what carries this terrible burden that I understand, but it still does not change my position. He is a terrible person, absuer, sadist. The only thing he did right was to keep Kou away from these things, but now they can't understand each other. T * ru refuses to understand and calls him "weak". It is he who is weak he and his heart that closed his heart and let himself be carried away by hatred.
Teru has a special hatred for Amane and blames him for everything going on at school or the Aoi situation, although it's not his fault. Where was Teru when Kou tried to help Mitsuba and Tsukasa hurt him?.Where he was when Kou and the rest of them were trapped in the perfect picture? Where Teru was when Aoi was kidnapped?, he only appeared at the end. He knew she was dead from the very beginning of reaching the shore. He is aware of everything that happened at school and he KNOW more than he says. Moreover, I does not accept the excuse that he "watched Kou and waited" because only Amane is involved, he runs immediately to stop him.
T * ru is also a complex character. He needs help and only Kou can do that. Open his hurt heart when that happens and we'll know the exact reason why he's such an asshole, in my eyes it won't change anything, it will allow me to give it just an perspective and understand why he is acting like this more than now. Although I have a couple of scenarios what exactly happened.
He is now in such a stage that he knows better than Kou and does not take into account that Kou has experienced pain and resentment when dealing with supernatural forces, but is still trying to understand and has not closed his heart.
They don't understand each other now, but I hope Kou will try to change his brother. He can't see Teru through the pink glasses anymore, so he can do it.
Anyway, T * ru in my eyes is lost.

Insert Coin - 3.e / Series Masterlist
“I’m glad to see you’re doing better than yesterday,” (Y/n) murmured, “I was really worried about you, you know?”
“You should be, I’m obviously the only person here that actually matters.”
“Don’t say that,” she leaned over, testing his temperature with a slight frown, “You’re a valued member of the group, Nagito.”
Nagito looked up at his forehead where (Y/n) was touching, a brighter blush on his face as he did so - making no move to remove her from his space, “Get your hands off me. I hate you. You’re vile.”
“Well,” (Y/n) giggled, admittedly flustered, pulling back, “I can’t touch your forehead all day, so how about,” she locked their hands together tenderly, even through the tenseness of Despair Disease - the moment felt somewhat serene with Nagito. Moments with Nagito usually felt that way - calm, safe, peaceful.
He was calming as much as he was conflicting. His past violence not forgotten but instead… understood - in a strange way.
He was dying, much faster than the others, before being accepted into Hope’s Peak and finding out he lost years worth of memory must’ve taken a toll on him. Who knows when he could just… drop dead? Besides, his brain was deteriorating and his cancer progressing and he’d already survived much longer than most - who knew what that was doing to his thought processes?
The very thought made (Y/n)’s heart drop. Any dead classmates were terrible, but a dead Nagito felt like… misery in another category. An agony unknown - an ache in the chest and twist of the guts just at the mention of the possibility.
“You’re such a bitch, I really can’t stand you,” Nagito pursed his lips, clearly displeased with the abuse he slung at his caretaker.
(Y/n) chuckled at the poor boy’s predicament, “Thank you. I think you’re very sweet as well and I enjoy your company.”
“I can see why, I’m certainly the best person here,” he looked to his lap, clenching his eyes at a sudden wooziness. He rubbed at his eyes, “I’m very alert and awake right now.”
“I’ll let you rest then,” the mediator stood as her lucky counterpart laid down, “Want Mikan to check on you when you wake up or should I?”
“Mikan.”
“Okay, bub, sleep well.”
“I won’t.”
Exiting to the hall, (Y/n) spotted Fuyuhiko standing out beside Akane’s room silently. His arms crossed tightly to his chest and staring straight ahead at the plexiglass display across the way. Well, not staring more like…
Zoning out.
Looking at the display while his mind looked elsewhere and, to be honest, (Y/n) was pretty sure she knew what it was about. Peko Pekoyama, the Ultimate Swordswoman, and apparently, Fuyuhiko’s closest friend. Possibly more.
“Hey, slackin’ off too, I see?” (Y/n) teased upon her approach.
Fuyuhiko jumped slightly at the unexpected voice before settling down and letting out a, “She wanted to cry alone so I stepped out. Still pretty beat to hell about Nekomaru.”
“I would be too,” (Y/n) empathized, settling herself on the wall as well, “They were super close so it’s not like we can expect her to be okay with all this, especially with this new disease.”
“I get how she feels, at least somewhat,” he muttered, “I wouldn’t want someone fuckin’ staring at me while I cry either. That shit’s weird,” as if suddenly remembering, Fuyuhiko looked up to the mediator, “What about him?”
Him being Nagito Komaeda - the unmentionable man in Fuyuhiko’s book.
“Better than before, thankfully, he gets dizzy fairly often and easily so it’s rare to find him up and standing out of bed. Sleeping a lot and Mikan hasn’t said anything about it so I choose to believe it isn’t a bad thing.”
“You know, I don’t like the guy, but, I wonder what’s got him so fucked up? Ibuki and Akane seem relatively fine other than gullibility and cowardice but it’s like he’s dying or some shit.”
“Don’t say that,” (Y/n) immediately cut in, shaking her head and softening her tone when she realized how sharp she’d spoken just seconds ago, “He’s not dying… he’ll be okay.”
Nodding slowly, Fuyuhiko seemed to sense the emotion in her voice - quickly catching onto the fact that the peacekeeper had grown attached to their resident lucky student. “He’s not dying but he’s sicklier than the others, that’s all I meant.”
“Yeah, I get what you’re saying. But- " she reached out to any hope possibly available to her and took it fully in her grasp, pulling at hay straws that broke in the wind as she clung desperately to any reassurance she could, “Mikan said he’ll be fine so he will be.”
“Right,” Fuyuhiko didn’t agree, that much was obvious, but he also didn’t feel like upsetting the girl more than she already was, “He’ll be fine.”
~~
It was after the sick had fallen asleep for the night that the trio of helpers met under the cover of nightfall in the dusty, musty, dank “breakroom” that clearly hadn’t been tended to in years. At least. Mikan had to perform a final round of check ups on the patients before retiring to bed, and nobody questioned it. She was the nurse, she was the one working the hardest. They didn’t want to pressure the poor girl into exhausting herself by hanging out with them when she really should’ve been in bed.
From caring for Fuyuhiko to the diseased, she must’ve been stressed to hell and letting her get well-deserved rest was the least they could all do.
“How’s Ibuki?”
Hajime quirked a brow at the question as well as the two faces aimed at him, “Why are you asking me?”
Fuyuhiko and (Y/n) looked between each other before the girl spoke up, “Well, I’m caring for Nagito,” she jabbed a thumb in the blond’s direction, “Fuyuhiko has Akane. I guess we kind of assumed you would be with Ibuki.”
“No,” he shook his head, running a hand through his hair, “I was going to but Mikan said it’d be best if she didn’t interact with too many people, since she’ll believe whatever they say. I’ve mostly been following Mikan around honestly, holding things and writing things down for her.”
“Aww,” the girl of the group cooed, “You’re like a little nurse’s assistant, that’s kinda sweet. I never knew you were such a gentleman, Hajime.”
“It’s not much, actually,” Hajime waved off, hoping to end the teasing while it was early, “Mikan is still the one doing most of it.”
“Even so, it’s nice to help.”
Fuyuhiko pursed his lips, running a hand over his buzzcut, feeling the tickle of his short hair against his skin, “I wonder how the others are doing,” before either part could suggest it, he continued, “Not that I’m going down to the lobby, they’re all probably asleep by now anyway.”
“I bet they’re fine,” Hajime nodded, mostly to himself, “Sonia’s there. She’s usually pretty good at keeping everyone in check.”
“Even so, I can’t help but worry,” (Y/n) sided with Fuyuhiko, “When we’re all split up like this… there’s no telling what could happen. I think it’s what Monokuma planned for, when we’re divided we’re weaker - it’s what he wants.”
“We shouldn’t think that way,” Fuyuhiko sighed, pushing himself up from his seat, “I don’t want to think about what could happen,” he gave a small wave over his shoulder as he left the pair, “G’night, bastards.”
“Goodnight,” came the pair’s reply.
After a beat of silence, (Y/n) looked to Hajime, “I should get back to Nagito, he does this weird thing where before I leave, he wakes up to tell me about all the clones in the room.”
“Right, and I’ll…” Hajime paused, feeling a wave of uselessness crash over him, “go to sleep, I guess.”
“Hey, good rest is the first step to progress. Don’t pressure yourself into doing more than you know you can, that’ll only make things worse, you know?”
“I know,” he sighed in defeat.
“Good, then I'll see you tomorrow,” (Y/n) nodded before stalking off to Nagito’s room.
As she opened the door, she spotted Mikan standing over the lethargic boy. Murmurs falling from her lips as she brushed her fingers over Nagito’s pale, flushed cheeks.
“Mikan, are you okay?”
The nurse suddenly stopped, pulling back and turning to the other girl, a sickeningly sweet smile playing at her lips, “I’m fine, (Y/n). Just fine.”
(Y/n) watched the nurse leave, eyes following her figure as she went before going to take her previous spot at Nagito’s bedside. He looked so on-edge even in his dreams, brows furrowed tightly and fingers gripping tight at the bedsheets in a white-knuckle grip. She hated to leave him like this, she really did… but Monokuma’s ridiculous rules prevented her from staying the night.
“Goodnight,” she whispered with a small smile, knowing he wouldn’t hear her.
It was sad, she wished she could do more for Nagito. More for the group.
No, if she started thinking like that then it’d only be a burden to the rest of her class.
Closing Nagito’s door, (Y/n) looked upon the identifying nameplate before hesitantly leaving to her cottage just as Hajime and Fuyuhiko had.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR DANGANRONPA V3 (and probably the other games, too, just to be safe)
So, just as a heads up, I made this list a few months ago, I think in the middle of chapter 4. I was going to update it, but I realized that any feelings I had were just made stronger and the list was still relatively accurate. Here are my thoughts:
I see no god up here other than me
Kirumi Tojo - As you may know about me, I can typically tell who my favorite characters are going to be before I indulge myself in a series. This has especially rung true throughout Danganronpa, I was able to correctly guess Taka and Gundham as my respective favorites before actually seeing them in action. Let me tell you that Kirumi surprised me. I originally guessed K1-B0 as my favorite and while he’s still up there, he is nowhere near Kirumi. I realized she was my favorite the moment chapter 2 ended. Not only were her execution and plan wonderful and brilliantly done, her last-ditch plea to convince everyone to let her live sold her for me. Not only did this plea make sense, it almost worked and I kinda wish it would’ve. Her motive was almost completely selfless and she worked damn hard to escape. Her execution was the only time I cried during this game because I wanted so badly for her to escape, but I knew that all of her efforts were futile. I know her biggest criticism is that her plan from hiding Ryoma’s body was completely unnecessary, but I like to believe she was just nervous and overthought the whole thing. I mean, this had to go perfectly in order for her to save her country, of course she’s going to add a few too many steps.
Miu Iruma - Okay, I know this is going to sound fake, but I actually really love the dichotomy of her character. The way that she acts so self-righteous but is actually quite self-conscious really stood out to me. Of course she’s funny and hot, too, but I feel it’s important to really appreciate the way her character was written. It amazes me that she was written to be the least likable character in the entire series and still ended up being one of my favorites.
You’re the best
K1-B0 - Yes, I type out his name every time. As I already mentioned, he was my original guess for favorite character, but it obviously didn’t work out that way. He stayed in his position of first for a while, but I always knew it wasn’t meant to last, I just didn’t know which character would take his place. Even besides my doubts, I still love K1-B0, I just wish more could’ve been done with him in the earlier chapters. There are several opportunities for him to be a really funny character and have good interactions with Kokichi and Miu, but he just comes off as annoying. I feel like he only really started to be utilized after Miu died with Monotaro and I really enjoyed their dynamic, I just wish we could’ve had some of this side of K1-B0 before this point.
Kokichi Oma - This spot probably isn’t as subjective as I’d like it to be. Every time Kokichi was on screen, I would get visibly annoyed, but I knew I was in for a treat figuring out his deeper intents behind what he’s saying. The only reason I really like Kokichi at all is because he’s fun to analyze. It gets boring to analyze Nagito because his motivation is pretty much just a mix of “hope” and “he’s crazy.” Kokichi’s character trait of lying makes it so fun to individually analyze each of his lines to figure out whether he’s telling the truth and why or why not. Other than that, I guess he has some funny dialogue with Miu sometimes.
Gonta Gokuhara - I really don’t know. I know this is way too early to be unsure about characters, but I just know I couldn’t put him any lower, but I also couldn’t put him any higher. He’s just such a sweetheart, but that’s about where the substance ends. I adored every time he was on my screen, but everything that would’ve been fun to analyze about him just leads back to Kokichi. I still really enjoy his presence, though. I’d like a big Gonta hug.
Kaede Akamatsu - I’ll just say it, I think she would’ve made for a better protagonist. I’ll talk about this later, but Shuichi’s character development doesn’t really feel like it goes anywhere and the twist doesn’t feel worth it because of that. I think the twist should still have been incorporated, but with the roles reversed. Either way, we got what we got, and what we got was tears from Clair de Lune. But seriously, she really is a great pianist. I’ve been trying to learn the piece for ages and it’s still too complicated for me. I mean, it’s in 9/8 for God’s sake. Good for her, regardless.
Tenko Chabashira - Tenko’s a weird case. I didn’t actually care for her that much until quite literally a few lines before she died. Fun fact: I spoiled this entire series for myself before I ended up playing it and I’m still mad at myself. This meant that I was just waiting for all of the deaths to happen, especially Tenko’s. I was fully aware that every line could be her last during the seance, but I wasn’t aware that she would pull on my heart strings before she went. When she tells Himiko that she’ll do the seance in her place so she can talk to Angie, I literally almost started crying. Before this, Tenko was just kind of annoying, but not too bad, but this moment really solidified her spot for me. She really just wanted to help Himiko and I wish she had chosen a better target for her affections.
Hey, I think you’re pretty cool, I like you a lot
Shuichi Saihara - Time to elaborate on what I said for Kaede. I actually really enjoyed Shuichi’s character development throughout the first three chapters. Before coming to Hope’s Peak, he was afraid to hurt people with his detective skills. Kaede notices this and helps him through it, passing the reins to Kaito once she passes. Shuichi convicts Kaede and later Kirumi, much to everyone’s detriment, but they’re all okay with it (Nobody was really super sad about Korekiyo to begin with, lol). Then, starting in chapter 4, everyone just kinda flips on him. Shuichi + the rest of the gang - Kokichi all believe that Gonta is innocent and Shuichi tries to prove this. Instead of supporting him, everyone (especially Kaito) tries to... stop him??? from proving it??? They’re all just in agreement that it wasn’t Gonta, but don’t want to proceed with the investigation to figure out who it was instead. It’s really frustrating and made my overall experience much less enjoyable. This is bumped up a few notches in chapter 5 with Maki. I understand that she was part of the whole case, but that doesn’t make it any less annoying that she won’t let me prove Kaito was the victim. It just feels like the character development was all for nothing and every student feels like a human obstacle (except K1-B0, of course). Still relatable and emo, though.
Rantaro Amami - I would make the joke everyone expects, but I’m on my laptop and I don’t know how to get to the emoji keyboard.
Ryoma Hoshi - I genuinely don’t have anything to say about Ryoma. He’s my halfway point because I don’t have anything particularly for him and I don’t have anything particularly against him, either. Go off, funky little cat man.
Kaito Momota - He got on my nerves in chapter 4, but he was a genuinely sweet character that I really enjoyed talking to. Any time he would talk about the stars, I would swoon because he’s just such a natural romantic. Not really my type, though. Very average.
Monophanie - Legally you can’t ask me why the monokubs are where they are. She’s voiced by Natalie Hoover (Sonia) and I guess that’s my only reasoning.
Monotaro - I really just liked his interactions with K1-B0 in chapter 4. Other than that, I greatly disliked his and Monophanie’s presence in Gonta’s execution. 0/10 worst use for monokubs.
Monodam - A nice, non-distracting addition to Korekiyo’s execution. But he had so much potential and just threw it all away. Apparently I’m a basketball dad from a high school movie now.
I remember you
Angie Yonaga - Many times, I’ve found myself asking who I ship from the series and this love triangle comes to mind. Of Angie, Himiko, and Tenko... I only really like Tenko. I don’t hate Angie’s cult stuff as much as everyone else seems to, but she didn’t have nearly enough of a presence for me to latch onto outside of the cult stuff, which was funny, I will admit.
Maki Harukawa - I was so excited the whole game for her to get cool. I knew she was going to get cool, I just didn’t know when or how. But then, it was chapter 5 already and she hadn’t gotten cool in my eyes yet. I was really meh on her by that chapter anyway, but her being annoying really knocked her down a few pegs. She got a couple extra points for surprising me during the case, but not enough to bump her up any spots.
Himiko Yumeno - I was rooting for her to be crushed under the rock at the end. She was fine before chapter 3, but then they tried to develop her with the Akane treatment and it didn’t work for me at all. She just got on my nerves during the third trial and continued to contribute nothing throughout the rest of the game. During chapter 5 and 6, it’s like the writers just completely forgot that she was there. This would’ve been fine if they weren’t the last couple of chapters and she was one of about 6 people left alive. She had a role to play and didn’t play it in the slightest. The most she was utilized after chapter 3 was as Miu’s replacement post-chapter 5. Someone needed to fill the dirty jokes quota and I guess Himiko was chosen. #GiveTenkoABetterLoveInterest2021
Monosuke - The only thing I remember him doing throughout the entire game was distract me from Kirumi’s exectuion. Not a fan.
You are the worst. Literal scum. Leave this planet and never return
Korekiyo Shinguji - Okay, listen. He’s not that bad. His design is actually one of the best, in my opinion and I love his dedication to his craft. However, he just creeps me out whenever he’s on screen and I’d prefer not to be around him. It’s not even the sister thing, I honestly think that’s funny and a nice change of pace, but his overall demeanor is creepy. Not to mention he’s played by Todd Haberkorn and he’s been in one too many roles recently. Hopefully I’ll get over it, but as for now, that loses him points.
Tsumugi Shirogane - I know, not exactly an unpopular opinion. She’s just annoying and downright pisses me off a lot of the time with her “plain” shtick. I already knew she was going to be the mastermind, so most of the game was just me waiting for her to reveal it. I swear, I almost couldn’t take it every time she said something like, “What if there isn’t a mastermind?” “What?? There’s a mastermind????” Just stfu Tsumugi. You all are lucky I don’t have the energy to talk about 3-6 right now.
Monokid - Hate the tongue sprite, that’s literally the only reason he’s down here. He’s also kind of annoying, but made the best addition to an execution out of all of the monokubs. His death was one of the few things that surprised me in this game and it was a welcome twist. I was sick of him by this point, but was still incredibly shocked when he was pushed into the execution. Then, his severed head rolls out to all of the students looking on in shock at Kaede’s death. Masterful. Still hate the tongue sprite.
There we go. Definitely my least favorite cast out of the whole series, but it’s still fun to love on and hate on a lot of the characters, as per usual. There are just a few too many in the middle tier (metaphorically speaking) that are either uninteresting or just don’t get their time to shine. Maybe they’ll eventually grow on me more, but I doubt it.

Hardcore Henry Lore (Aka for Payday fans wondering what Hardcore Henry means for the world of payday)
Now this isn’t a perfect breakdown of everything, if you want full context you should watch the movie & then read Hardcore Akan (aka the one issue vcomic tie-in). But this should go over the whole backstory & lead up along with answer stuff like basic ages of Akan & Jimmy
Since this is rather long it is going under the cut, if I am missing anything lmk.
Also warning that this spoils all of hardcore henry.
The Timeline
The events of the Hardcore Henry world notblely start on April 26, 1986, aka the chernobyl disaster, during the disaster Akan’s mother was starting to give birth, with how things are told within the comic she died due to a pill that those going to the disaster were given to trick them into killing themselfs, that she took after being told by her husband that it would save her.
The newborn Akan was taken in by a doctor working at chernobyl, that within this world was the one at fault for the disaster, the man (Dr. Akanov) was likely the one that named Akan, given that the first name seems based on the last name.
It is likely that during the 80’s that Jimmy is old enough to watch the news & remember details about it, mainly this is likely due to a joke he makes about watching a news story in the 80’s
Sometime around here is when Henry may have been born.
During Akan’s childhood & teen years he us bullied by his peers due to how he looks and likely some traits he showed around others his age, in his late teen years before going to university he convincses his father to no longer use animal testing at his labs & as a whole behaves in ways that make it hard for his father to later believe his crimes
Within university Akan is still bullied but he is able to join an underground animal fighting ring, said group as a twist that the animals (only seen with frogs) were made into cyborgs, this means it’s likely that Akan himself had talent with robotics & making cyborgs. During this time he does nearly get a girlfriend but he unwisely took her to the fighting ring & she did not approve of the animal abuse.
Shortly after schooling Akan became a part of the clubbing & partying scene, likely starting with selling others drugs before he ended up making his own, which was meant to be one that would activate at the same time no matter when tooken, he was very sure in this drug so took himself (either meaning he was overconfident or skilled at drug making).
Sadly the drug did not do it was meant to and instead more- melted, those that took it, Akan being the only person that took it that lived, though after making up from his coma he had the power to move things with his mind (likely he always had this power, the drug just made it show itself).
After this he learned what his father had done by mistake & more about his past, after this he kills his father and everyone at the head of Akan industries
After taking control of the company Akan shortly after hiring James “Jimmy” a biolesit from the uk who wished to use dead bodies in his studies, it is likely that Jimmy had a pretty good idea on what the company was doing.
Sometime after Jimmy is hired but before he is uh… “fired” Slick Dimitry was hired, likely at first as a bodyguard as he is seen with Akan when Akan breaks Jimmy’s back. It is unknown when Slick Dimitry became a cyborg but I believe he is likely a beta test for one, maybe he willingly became one or maybe it was Akan’s way of saying thanks for a loyal worker.
Jimmy makes the first prototypes of the super soldiers, but they are mindless & overall useless, which makes Akan decide to break Jimmy’s back & fire him, likely thinking Jimmy won’t have the nerve to fight back afterwards or would be unable to.
Jimmy makes his clones, likely starting with Nerd Jimmy as this clone is the closest to the Jimmy that worked for Akan personality wise, it is unknown how he was able to do this, set up his lab or where he even got the money for all of this.
Estelle likely becomes the head of the super soldier project, she may have already been married to Akan or they became close during this time, what is likely is that she is a big part of the project.
Shortly before the events of Hardcore Henry the timeline splits, in the main timeline Akan does not try to hire the Payday Gang (As they likely do not exist as anything other than a video game that Jimmy is likely a fan of given his mask which would fit the game). Meanwhile the 2nd timeline is the Payday timeline, in which Akan tries to hire the Payday gang but Jimmy pays them more & is able to steal research about making super soldiers, which likely means Henry is never made into a super soldier & the events of the movie never happen.
Henry somehow dies & his body is found/already agreed to be used as the main super soldier for the first field test/programing phase, it is unknown as to why Henry was picked or why he naturally has a lot of skills that other super soldiers don’t have (he is able to beat other 200 of them, so it’s likely he has a past with fighting in it)
At the start of Hardcore Henry’s movie Akan is 29-30, Jimmy is likely in his 40’s, Henry is likely the same age as the maker of the flim, & the other characters are unknown/likely the same as their actors.
The events all take place during the same day, by the end of the day almost all named characters are dead other than Henry, who is left within a helicopter after killing Akan & Estelle. The screen goes black and hears that Jimmy left a message for after he died, with one last job (it is unclear when he would’ve made this or how Henry (who likely is the one listening) found this message.)
Other Events
It is likely that Hardcore Henry is within the same world as the music videos of the music vidoes that inspired the movie, the story follows a highly skilled spy (who’s skillset is like Henry’s, they may be the same character at different points within the timeline, Henry being a spy that was looking into Akan but was killed by Akan’s forces would make sense) who has blended into a evil unknown company, there is a hacker also posted there. They are there to get a device that can teleport. When he tries to get it the alarm goes off and the mission goes loud.
At first he is unable to get away with it & is catched, his partner is killed and he is then able to get the device back after fighting his way through the company forces & the one with it, the last of the fighting takes place within a baby’s room, who after the fight is other grabs the device and uses it by mistake, it is unknown where the baby went or what became of the spy.
Fixing the whole chernobyl problem
So the way the chernobyl disaster is shown in Akan’s comic does not make sense and would’ve made things go a lot worse worldwide & would’ve made history different (Butterfly effect problems)
So my best try at fixing this is that Dr. Akanov lied or Akan made up his own version of events, here’s what both would mean:
Dr. Akanov lying likely would mean that he likely blames himself for the event or at least a lot of the death around the event, he was a doctor after all so it isn’t unlikely that most people he tried to treat would die in horrible ways, making there be trauma that could’ve had him make a version of the events where those he treated died quicker, in more peace. Akan’s mother was likely a women close to giving birth when the disaster happened & got readied, later dying in childbirth with Dr. Akanov adopting the child due to the birth father dying from the disaster & the radian
Akan making up likely means the story is just his way of explaining his own powers, him having albinism & getting rid of any guilt he may have had about killing his own father.
What is missing
So there are parts of the story missing, mainly because everything that was meant to come out hasn’t, mainly another movie & more comics.
We know very little about what happened between Akan hiring Jimmy & firing him, this likely would’ve been covered by comics, along with the stories of some of the notable people that worked for Akan, like Slick & Estelle.
We don’t know how Henry’s body ended up in Akan’s & Estelle’s hands, nor do we know anything about his past outside one moment from his childhood & that he got a tattoo.
We also don’t know what Jimmy’s last job was.
We don’t know what the serious version of the story would’ve been like
No clue on when Hardcore Henry Meets Rooster Teeth fits into any of this, maybe it’s the happy end au where Jimmy doesn’t day & him and Henry are like roommates or something

Hi everyone! Been thinking about a cute little Nekowada scenario where Nekomaru sees Mondo’s hair down for the first time and decides to braid it! This one is both cute and a little sad since it takes place two or three months after Takemichi’s death and Mondo would still be grieving at this time (I may go into Michi’s death in more detail and how Nekomaru comforts Mondo in a separate post if you guys are interested). Hope you guys enjoy this headcanon!
The first time Nekomaru saw Mondo with his hair down was a bit of a bittersweet moment for him.
On one hand, it was sweet because he liked how it would gracefully flow in the wind and how it was much softer and easier to run his fingers through. He also admitted to himself that Mondo looked so cute with his hair down.
But on the other hand, it was bitter because it was around the time when Mondo was still grieving Takemichi’s death. Though he was dealing with it much better than a few months ago. A few months ago, he neglected to take care of himself. He refused to eat, despite Daiya trying several times to get him to do so. He refused to shower, brush his teeth, fix his hair, all things important to good hygiene. He wouldn’t even leave his room a few months ago.
But after all the love and support from his brother and friends, along with a good cry and a heartfelt talk with Nekomaru to top it all off, he slowly, but surely started to get better. The guilt and sadness didn’t fully disappear at the time, as well as a few bad habits (neglecting to style his hair into his signature pompadour and not eating unless Daiya, Taka, and Nekomaru force him to), but progress was definitely being made. Very slow progress…
The day that Nekomaru decided to take it upon himself to “help a fellow teammate” by styling his hair for him was on a Wednesday afternoon. In the middle of March to be exact. Mondo and Nekomaru happened to have the same Study Hall class for 9th period (basically just a free period to do homework or talk to friends). Mondo sat at a desk in front of Nekomaru, fast asleep. The poor guy probably didn’t get much sleep the other night…
Nekomaru had his homework for the day finished, so he grew bored quite fast. He wanted to use his free time to talk to Mondo, but knowing about all that he just went through a few months back, he didn’t have the heart to wake him up. So he just eyeballed his long hair up and down. His healthy, gorgeous hair, as Nekomaru would describe it.
Then, he gently played with a few strands, thinking about when his big sister used to play with his hair when he was little and style it in various different ways. In return, she would let him braid her hair…
That memory gave him an idea. Being careful not to wake up his mentally exhausted boyfriend, he started to braid his hair, starting from the top and working his way down to the bottom. His hair was actually quite a lot of fun to braid. It felt so soft and silky between his fingers as he carefully put each strand over the others. He considered the idea of styling his hair in a French braid, but he was worried the extra effort would wake him up. So he did a simple, messy braid that would be easily taken out later on if Mondo wanted to let his hair down again.
Soon, Akane, along with a few other female students (Angie Yonaga, Peko Pekoyama, and Aoi Asahina) witnessed in awe as Nekomaru almost effortlessly braided the sleeping boy’s hair. Once he was almost finished, he looked over at Hina and asked if she had a spare hair tie. She handed it over without hesitation, saying that Mondo could keep it if he wanted.
“You sure?”
“Absolutely! I’ve got a million of them at home!”
With a smile, Nekomaru thanked Hina and twisted the hair tie at the end of Mondo’s braid. The four girls proceeded to take pictures of Mondo’s braid with their phones, complimenting Nekomaru on his hair braiding skills. Angie and Hina even asked if he could braid their hair as well sometime, to which he enthusiastically agrees.
The final school bell rings, letting all the students know that it was time to go home. Mondo jolts awake to the sound of the school bell and frantically looks around, trying to remember where he was. The girls giggle at Mondo’s brief moment of confusion as he turns around to face them. He also noticed Nekomaru blushing once he met his gaze and looked away bashfully.
“Nyahahaha! Your bewildered look definitely matches your lovely braid, Mondo!”
“I agree. You look really nice with that braid.”
“Yeah! You look super cute! Nekomaru did a good job!”
“Hell yeah he did! So you better be thanking Maru here! He’s a hair styling natural!”
Nekomaru blushed even harder and buried his face in his jacket. The girls waved goodbye and headed off to their lockers to pack their books in their backpacks. Mondo slowly pulled out his phone and accessed his camera to get a look at Nekomaru’s work.
“Did… did you actually braid my hair?”
“Y-yeah… sorry if it bothers you. It’s just a simple braid, so it shouldn’t be hard to take ou—”
Before Nekomaru could finish, Mondo enveloped him in a tight hug.
“I-I love it. Thanks, man.”
He teared up a little as he kept his hold on his boyfriend. Through his grief and guilt, Nekomaru was willing to put up with that and do everything he could to cheer him up.
And that touched Mondo’s heart. He never thought that anyone could move him like that before, not even his own brother.
And so after that day, if Mondo was too lazy to style his hair, wanted to look nice for a formal event, or simply just wanted to have his hair styled a little differently, he always came to Nekomaru. French braids, messy buns, French buns, high ponytails, low ponytails, half up half down. You name it. Nekomaru styled it.
Even simply running a hairbrush through his hair was enough to relax Mondo.
And you can be sure as hell Mondo would always be grateful for Nekomaru’s ability to cheer him up and his amazing hair styling skills.

FIC: Never Have to Say Goodbye
to: @juricha-art
from: @interabangs
Happy Holidays, juricha-art! I chose your Sigma/Diana prompt because they deserve so much happiness together after everything they’ve been through! Just to let you know, there is some angst in here, and a couple mentions of Diana’s ex and Delta. but I made sure to give the lovebirds the happy ending they deserve! Bonus D-Team family feels at the end, too. Hope you enjoy!
Sleep had become more of a passing acquaintance to Diana in the past few years. Between her duties at the hospital – and her fitful tossing and turning before heading to DCOM – she hadn’t been getting much of it.  She would’ve been surprised at how quickly she slips into dreamland, if she weren’t so exhausted. She vaguely registers Sigma gently lowering her into bed, and lifting the thick, cozy comforter over her as he tells her, “Everything is going to be all right.”
When her eyes open, slowly taking in the small, dark room she’s in, she blinks a few times, and rubs at her lids.
The first thing she can tell is that she’s alone. She’s in a single queen-sized bed, and in what she gradually remembers is a motel room.
Her attention turns to its layout: door and window facing her with the curtains spread out, tiny television resting on a small cabinet just shy of five feet away from the foot of the bed.
Lifting her head from the soft downy pillow, Diana half turns around, still waking up as she looks at the bathroom and closet behind her.
It all comes rushing back to her as she sits up in bed, clutching at the collar of her red sweater.
After Carlos had shot Delta, Diana fainted right there in the desert. She’d known Delta had imprisoned her, imprisoned all of them. She didn’t blame Carlos for making the hard decision. But she couldn’t fully process her son’s death, and she had barely felt Sigma picking her up as the others argued what their next step was.
The rest of the day is a blur as Diana tries to recall it, sifting through her memories like holding a pan and trying to look for gold. She pulls her legs out from under the motel bed’s comforter and draws her knees up to her chest, breathing deeply like Rebecca had advised her, what felt like several lifetimes ago. And technically, it was true.
One breath in through the nose, hold it for five seconds, then exhaling through the mouth. It’s a technique that had helped calm Diana when she stayed with Rebecca, trying to find her footing and escape from the man who had caused her so much pain.
Try to look at the positives, she tells herself, continuing her breathing exercise in her large motel bed. And she walks through each of them: she’s alive. She’d found her daughter and love of her life, who are both also still alive. All the Decision Game participants, except for Delta, made it out alive. There is no Radical-6 in this timeline. Diana would never have to worry about that, or… him, again. She hadn’t been able to stop Delta from achieving his twisted plan with the Decision Game, and even though she had felt some instinctual maternal instinct toward the elderly man, she knows, as much as it pains her to admit it, that Carlos had made the best and safest decision for the group.
The fact that Diana, and the others, had all lived, is a miracle. They’d formed a shared goal in the aftermath of Delta’s death: stop the terrorist in this timeline. Diana knows she can begin her new life with her family, the family she remembers losing in a timeline she doesn’t want to dwell on right now.
She brushes her hair behind her ears, wondering where Sigma and Phi are. Searching through her murky memories of the previous day, she senses the bumpy ride of the van from DCOM, out in the middle of the desert, to civilization.
Diana recalls snatches of conversations in the van ride: some heated words from Eric to Akane, Junpei snapping right back at Eric, Sean’s questions from the middle seat, and Carlos’s calm, measured tone from the driver’s seat.
Diana remembers Sigma holding her hand as the van speeds over sand first, then pavement, and how warm his touch was, how his sturdy frame supported her as she sank against his side, half-awake, wondering where they were going.
“We need to hole up somewhere for a bit,” Phi had assured Diana when she could hear other cars driving next to the van, the occasional honk, and more conversation from up front as Mira tells Eric and Junpei, “Oh, knock it off already.”
“That’s going to be fun to deal with,” Diana remembers hearing Sigma mutter to Phi, and Junpei had said, “Hey, I heard that, back there!”
Diana laughs a little in bed, interrupting her own breathing exercise as she realizes the absurdity of their situation.  She takes in another breath, and finds the last piece of gold, the last memory of the previous night.
Sigma had carried her from the van to her room, whispering to Phi, “We’ll explain everything to her in the morning, okay? Right now, she needs to get some sleep.”
“Are you really going to sleep with her tonight? Don’t you think that’s a little… forward?”
Sigma had paused in the middle of the hallway, and his stance changed, his shoulders slumping a bit. Diana had stirred then, opening her eyes, and Sigma said, “Sorry, Diana. We’ll let you get some rest.”
The last thing Diana remembers is Sigma tucking her into bed and closing the door quietly behind him. Phi had said something outside the room, but Diana can’t quite remember it.
She chews on her lower lip, chasing down the memory and trying to uncover it before she goes looking for Sigma and Phi.
Just as she’s still trying to remember, she notices something on the floor in front of her door, that hadn’t been in the motel room when she’d woken up.
Her eyes now adjusted to the dim light, she peers at the object half illuminated through the crack by the exterior hallway lights.
It’s a piece of paper.
Then, all at once, Diana remembers what Phi had said when Sigma closed the door:
“Do you really think things will work out between you two?”
Diana swings her legs out from under her, and she takes the six steps to the note under the door.  She’d been so preoccupied with trying to calm herself down and remember how she got from the desert to the motel room, that she wasn’t even aware of anyone stopping by her room and sliding the note under her door.
With slightly trembling hands, Diana opens the folded note. She flips on the room light, blinking rapidly and wincing before peering down at the note.
Diana,
I’m sorry for everything that has happened to you. I wish I could take it all back, somehow, even though part of me will forever be grateful to have met you. If only it had happened under better circumstances.
Please understand I want all the best for you. Take care of Phi (she needs it.) I’m sure you both have a lot to catch up on.
Lo All the best,
S.
When she finishes reading it, Diana steels herself to take another calming breath or two.
Then she slips on her shoes – Sigma must have taken them off before tucking her in – and she wrenches the heavy motel door open, dashing out into the cool night air.
Her skirt is wrinkled all over, one of her flower clips is halfway down the back of her hair, her shoes are back in the room lined up neatly next to the door – Sigma had probably taken them off before laying her in bed –
– And she realizes that she doesn’t have the keycard to her room just as the door slams shut behind her.
But Diana doesn’t care about any of that.
She races down the hall, around a corner, and then, all the way down the end of the longer hall, she sees Sigma standing in front of an elevator.
She calls out his name, but her voice is nearly unrecognizable from recent lack of us.
Then, after clearing her parched throat, she tries again, “Sigma!”
He turns, and his eyes widen.
“Wait!” Diana cries out, and runs over to him as he stares at her, completely shocked. “Where are you going?”
He blinks once, then again before saying, “Diana! I didn’t wake you up, did I?”
“No, I was already awake. And then I saw this.” She hold up the note. “What does it mean? Are you… are you leaving me? Are you leaving Phi?”
Sigma looks away at her question, glancing up at the floor the elevator is on. They’re on the fourth floor, and the elevator is still on the first one. “Should’ve taken the stairs,” he says, as if talking to himself. “So that’s what I get for being lazy, huh?”
“Answer the question,” she says, a little more harshly than she meant to, so she adds, “please. Where are you off to?”
He stares at her for a few more seconds before he schools his stunned expression into an indiscernible one, looking up at the elevator numbers on the top of its metal frame. “I can’t tell you that.”
“Why not? Are you leaving for forever?” Tears spring to Diana’s eyes, and a pit forms in the bottom of her stomach. “I thought maybe we could…” she trails off, then, not really certain how she wants to finish the sentence.
He shakes his head. “I’m sorry Diana, but I don’t think that would be a good idea right now.”
“What? Why?”
He sighs, pushing the button for the elevator again. “I thought I’d be the type of person who could never yell at you the way I did, when we were in the decontamination room. I…” His voice drops to a decibel just above a whisper as he shuts his eyes. “I thought I would never be the kind of person that could hurt you.”
“But I hurt you too!” she protests. “And I had less of a reason to.”
Sigma rakes a hand through his hair. “I was just as bad for you as… he was.”
“No!” Diana takes a step forward, raising her free hand to put it on Sigma’s arm, maybe in some desperate attempt to anchor him to the floor. But she stops, when she looks at his face, at the combined mixture of guilt and self-loathing twisted in his usually handsome features.
She puts her hand down. “That’s not true, Sigma. I remember what happened too. We were both so scared, and confused… And I remember you said you were sorry, and then you comforted me when I needed it the most.”
Sigma doesn’t answer, but Diana notices that the elevator is still stuck on the first floor, so she keeps going.
“Do you remember how patient you were when we found out that I was… expecting? You gave up half your rations for me, for months. You were so stubborn about giving up your portions that I had to feed you a couple times so you wouldn’t pass out. You gave me footrubs when I complained about walking, you let me have my own time in the healing room when I said I needed space.” Tears streak down her cheeks at the memory of his kindness.  “And you did… so much for me when I couldn’t think about anything else but touching you. I couldn’t have survived in there without you, Sigma. You did more than I could ever ask for, you did everything you could for Phi and…” Diana’s eyes burn a little as she shut them, unable to say Delta’s name. “For them.”
When she looks up at Sigma, she can see his own eyes watering.
“That doesn’t make my actions right,” he says, lowering his head. “You’ve already been through too much pain. I don’t want to risk the chance of putting you through any more of it.“
The elevator arrives on their floor with a rapid ding! that makes Diana crush the note even more.
Then, before she can stop to think, she dashes into the elevator, and turns to face Sigma before he can enter.
His hard, resolute stare softens into curiosity. “What are you doing?”
“I don’t want you to go!” she protests. “After everything we’ve been through, you can’t just leave like this!”
His mouth curves up into a half-smile, and that gives Diana a bit of hope. “Technically, I can,” he says, thumbing the elevator button before the door can close between them. “It doesn’t mean I want to leave. But if this is what it takes to help you recover from everything you’ve been through, then so be it.”
“Do you remember what I said, about you being a coward?” she asks, and Sigma’s smile vanishes, instantly answering her question with his haunted expression. “I was completely wasted when I called you that,” she continues, stepping forward. “I wanted to hurt you. See? I wish I didn’t say those things either, or treated you horribly when you were just trying to make sure I was eating. But I did. And now we’re here. Now we can fix it, Sigma. We can put that all behind us, and move forward, together.”
She takes a step toward him, standing between the elevator doors.
He takes her free hand, the one not crushing the note, and pulls her out into the hall without hesitation.
More tears roll down her flushed cheeks as she squeezes his hand, letting the elevator doors close behind her.
“I don’t know what to do if you leave,” she says. “Phi’s here, and I’m so grateful for that. I’m glad that we found our daughter. But I still want to be with you. Do you… do you not want to be with me anymore?”
He looks at her for a long moment, that stretches as far down as the motel hallway, and Diana’s heart sinks into her stomach as she begins to think that he -
“Of course I want to be with you, Diana,” he says, enveloping her with his arms as she sobs out of relief. “I’d love nothing more than getting to spend the rest of my life with you.”
“I feel the same way,” she says, sniffling, her voice muffled by his chest. “We can work through this, all our crazy time traveling problems, together.”
Even though she can’t see his face, she knows he’s smiling again, and they sway on the spot in front of the elevator, crying as they tighten their embrace.
“I’m glad you didn’t take the stairs,” Diana whispers to him, clutching his back.
“Me too. Apparently, laziness and outdated wiring does pay off sometimes.”
She laughs, then looks up at him. “Um, Sigma?”
“Yeah?”
“Did you get a room tonight too? I kinda… locked myself out of mine.”
“Oh.” His eyes widen in realization. “Oh! Well, uh…” His face flushes a little, exactly how she remembers it did when she kissed him in DCom, and he clears his throat. “Uh, yeah, I got a room, though I wasn’t planning on stay in it for long. Akane has your keycard, since she figured you would be sleeping all night. But since she’s with Junpei now, we probably shouldn’t bother them.”
Diana laughs a little at Sigma’s bashfulness, despite them having spent many nights together themselves in another timeline. “Don’t worry, I don’t have any funny business in mind. Not tonight, anyway.”
“Not tonight,” he agrees. “But it would be good for us both to get some rest. Is that all right?”
Diana sighs happily as she hugs Sigma once more, then lets him lead the way to his room. “Most definitely.”
—————————
When Diana wakes, she’s delighted to feel Sigma pressed up behind her,  his strong arms embracing her around the side. Not too tight to give her enough space, but in a comforting way, and much more secure than the blanket in her previous room when she’d woken up alone.
She shifts eventually, turning over to see him as he begins to wake up himself. “Hi,” she says.”
He leans forward, pressing gentle kisses into her hair. "Hi.”
“Wanna go downstairs?”
“Yeah, I just need another minute.” He stretches, and she laughs at the sight of his large form nearly taking up the other half of the bed. He relaxes, and hugs her to his chest again, enveloping her in his warmth as she breathes in his scent. “This is everything I’ve ever wanted.”
She buries her face in his chest. “Me too.”
“I’m not so sure I can get up now,” Sigma tells her.
“Ew, perv.”
“Ahhh!” Sigma yells, and Diana sits right up.
“Phi?”
Their daughter shuts the small cabinet under the TV at the foot of the bed, rolling her eyes. “Knew I should’ve waited until you both came down for breakfast,” she grumbles.
“What are you – are you trying to look for my wallet?” Sigma asks.
“Actually, it’s not your wallet I’m looking for,” Phi says with a smirk. “Akane got it for you yesterday with her Crash Keys funds, remember?”
“Well, yeah,” Sigma says, sitting up in bed along with Diana, “but didn’t she give you some money too?”
“I’m afraid not,” Phi says, shaking her head as she crosses her arms over her chest. “Akane said that the cash she gave you last night should be enough to cover all three of us, and I wanted to get a soda from the vending machine. So where is the wallet, old man?”
“Oh, so this is where it starts, huh? Now you’re asking me for allowance?” Sigma asks, reaching behind him to fumble around in the bedside table drawer. He pulls out a brand new wallet, takes out a twenty dollar bill from the thick wad of cash, and holds it up.
Phi groans, “Please don’t tell me I have to go over there and get it. Not if you’re both naked under there.”
“We’re not naked, Phi!” Diana says, flipping the comforter off her and Sigma.
“No, my eyes!” Phi cries, holding her arm up to shield her vision.
“Don’t worry, Phi – look, we’re wearing clothes!” Sigma says, and Phi slowly lowers her arm.
“Okay,” she says, trying to pretend she hadn’t lost her cool and collected demeanor. Diana can’t help but stifle a giggle as Phi rolls her eyes and stomps over to Sigma’s side of the bed, snatching the money out of his hand as he grins at her smugly.
“This means you’ll be mowing the lawn, right?”
“Hah hah. Last I checked, you don’t even have a lawn to mow.”
“Oh, we’ll have one eventually,” Sigma says, turning to Diana with a soft smile, his eyes filled with hope for the future.
When Diana returns his smile, there’s a moment of silence before Phi asks her quietly. “So, um… does that mean you want us to be a family?”
Diana turns to look at Phi, and, seeing her daughter’s face, the mixture of guarded longing and incredulity, she can’t help but jump off the bed, rushing to join her and giving her a hug.
“Oh, Phi,” she says, her voice breaking, “of course I do!”
Phi stiffens for a second, then relaxes into her embrace. “Good,” she says. “I’m glad you do too.”
“I thought you didn’t want us to be a family,” Sigma says to Phi from the bed.
“Well, of course I did, but I wasn’t sure if you wanted to!” Phi says as she hugs Diana back.
“But the way you were talking last night,” Sigma says, stumbling over his words, “I just figured you wanted me to leave.”
“What?” Phi blinks at him, and laughs. “No, I didn’t want you to leave, you old geezer. I just wanted you to make sure you know that this is what you really want. I don’t… I don’t want either of you to end up getting hurt. Not again, not after everything we’ve been through.”
“You don’t have to worry about us, Phi,” Diana says. “We’ll be fine. But I don’t think we’ll all be able to settle down until we stop the terrorist and save everyone.”
“She’s right,” Sigma says, getting up off the bed and joining Diana and Phi. “I don’t know if we’ll ever be anything resembling a ‘normal’ family. But maybe that’s okay. Maybe we don’t need ‘normal.’ Maybe we can just be… us.“
Diana clasps her hands together, tearing up. Sigma puts his arms around her and Phi, and Diana’s chest swells with all the love she has for him and their daughter..
“Okay,” Phi agrees, sounding as relieved as Diana has felt since Sigma decided not to leave. Then, Phi adds hurriedly, “Let’s just… try to keep it to the three of us for now, all right?”
Diana laughs as Sigma hugs both her and Phi closer to him. “Promise.”

I’m gonna have a nerdy rant about video games please excuse me (zero escape spoilers)
K so my fave game series I’ve become obsessed with is zero escape, aka a weird bullshit series where the fandom is both small and dead as shit. Yay. And I just finished the last game, zero time dilemma. I wasn’t initially gonna play this game just cuz I heard it was kinda bad, but the ending to vlr had me curious. Plus it had Junpei in it and, well, I think he’s neat :)
But aaaaaaa
Yeah it was bad. Ill go over the good things though. I thought the escape rooms were like challenging without being toooo challenging. They were a good medium between the 999 and vlr puzzles. I liked them. I also really liked the D team a lot. Luna was one of my favorite vlr characters so it’s kinda natural I liked Diana a lot too. I also thought Sigma and Phi were really good in this game. I wasn’t to crazy about either of them in the second game but like. They’re cute in this game. And even though they’re "getting together" situation was kinda iffy, I think Sigma and Diana were cute together. The only valid het couple in this series. I’m kinda indifferent about the whole twist where Phi is their daughter. I don’t hate it, and I think it was cool how it was foreshadowed in vlr, but I think it makes some dynamics weird. Personally, I think Sigma and Phi would have a better siblings relationship but eh
Now let’s get into the bad, even though there’s so much that I physically cannot go over all of it. Idk where to even start. First off, the art style and designs had like no heart. Like everyone has interesting designs (one might even say too interesting) in the first two games. In ztd though, everyone was boring as shit. Junpei went from cool Marty McFly trans king to emo middle schooler. HE WAS LITERALLY IN JUST A BLACK SHIRT AND BLACK JEANS GOD. I’m gonna save him for later though. I’m just disappointed. Also the art style was bleh. I thought it looked nice on the cover, and I was also really excited cuz I read that there were "animated cutscenes". Y’all. Ugh. The cutscenes ended up being like the whole game. I was just watching it all go by and I couldn’t skip any dialogue without accidentally skipping important stuff. Not only that, there was no heart in it at all. I’d argue that the 3D models looked better in this game than in vlr (I’m personally not into how they changed to 3D but that’s a rant for another day), but the models in vlr had GREAT emotions! They had zero emotion in this game. I hated it. Thankfully the voice actors were able to add emotion but damn
Next is the characters. Needle to say, I didn’t enjoy most of them. I liked everyone on D team, the end. First of all, freaking Carlos. Talk about boring. Like god maybe I would’ve liked his design if he wasn’t wearing the button up and also maybe wore like any other pants aaaa. Also like hm. He uh, sure liked his sister. In a concerning way. Like it wasn’t a super obviously bad thing but every time romance was mentioned he’d be like "I don’t need romance, I have my sister!" Do you see what I mean? It’s sketchy to me.
Then we got Eric 👺👺👺. I hated this guy. First off he’s like a ripoff of Kristoph from frozen, without the fun himbo personality. And the whole time he was thirsting after Mira which ughhhh. They were worse than Junpei and Akane in 999. Maybe I’m just too gay for this shit but ughh. Also it was a thing that was pretty well established thing that his father was abusive but like. It didn’t really...mean jack shit? Honestly nothing about Eric’s character mattered, he was pretty irrelevant. Also he was super super shitty to Sean who was literally a fucking child
Then Mira. How disappointing aaaagh. Like they were literally just like "oh here’s this chick that has committed murder, this isn’t relevant at all :)". Like damn they really just had her be completely unnecessary huh. It was super obvious to me that she was the one who killed Eric’s mom and I thought that would’ve come up but. It just didn’t. I was also curious about their relationship in general since it seemed like she only got with Eric so she could kill him. And god they could’ve at least done something like idk. Make her like Dio and break into the game to cuz trouble. Or she could’ve been zero. Maybe that’s lazy but it would have been better. But no they literally did nothing with her. There was a timeline where she brutally murdered Junpei just like, for no reason I guess??? Jesus
Sean and Akane were characters I’m just meh about. I didn’t hate Sean, but I didn’t really like him either. Akane was never really my gal in 999 in the first place so hm. I think she’s funny but she’s done some sketchy stuff and idk I’d probably like her better if the games weren’t always trying to put her with Junpei every five minutes
Then there was Junpei. Ughhhh. They were trying something but ughh. He was very emo and kinda douchey and I just wasn’t into him. Which is a massive shame cuz I liked him a lot in 999, and especially in vlr. Like all I can say is that it’s a real disappointment for me
Now onto plot holes and things that didn’t get covered that should have. As previously mentioned, they didn’t do anything with Mira at all. They also didn’t properly go over Sigma and Diana’s relationship that Sigma had vaguely talked about that happened in another timeline. Carlos’s sister was not important at all and they threw in some "she’s got the mind abilities" bullshit in without really doing anything with it. The timeline shit made my brain turn into goo aaaa. We dont get closure on how the pandemic was stopped, which was the reason I played this fucking game. We didn’t learn jack shit about the third nonary game. And then of course, there’s fucking DELTA
This filled me with so much rage y’all. The game was just like "oh yeah btw there was this random old man who was just there the ENTIRE TIME that never got acknowledged ever and he’s the big bad villain of the game. Not just that, he’s the founder of the crazy cult from vlr. AND he’s Diana and Sigmas kid!" Like wow you know I don’t think words can describe how bad that was. I think things would’ve been better if he just like wasn’t there yeah. Also I guess he’s supposed to be like, the player cuz he mind controls the characters into making certain choices. Ugh. IT WAS SO STUPID MAN. And I guess the only ONLY reason he made the second nonary game was to make sure he was born which is just eghhhmm. That is too messy for me. That’s some bad time bullshit. And weird reason but okay. God
There’s literally so much more I have to say but if I don’t I’m gonna pass out so I’m just gonna take a nap and die. Moral of the story is that I’m pissed a series I loved ended so shitty and don’t play this game unless you hate yourself. The end

out of reach fortunes (prev. freedom)
summary: you didn’t understand the concept of love, something that felt so constrictive that it made your skin crawl with nerves. it had been how many years now? four-no five years? you were beginning to lose count with the sheer volume of other thoughts rushing through your mind.
at a first glance, people would be quick to assume that you were nothing short of a person who couldn’t fend for themselves if the time ever came - which wasn’t surprising considering the number of times you’ve found yourself in that situation at your chosen place of work: usually they were dark alleys - at least that’s what you treated them as since most wouldn’t be able to find anyone but you in that corridor, washing away the remnants of whatever you had just wiped off the tables.
if you ever felt daring enough, you would sometimes imagine yourself sitting atop the green pastures, curling your toes into the rich earth, grass needle points pricking into your fleshy ankles or dangerously testing the ocean waters with nothing but your fingertips submerged into the body of liquid. although the feeling was unpleasant, you did enjoy the salty scent that made your nose wrinkle with glee and the sound of the ocean’s backwash against the rocky shores.
to be completely honest, you were never brave enough to fully submerge into the water - it was something your siblings had always picked up on, sometimes finding the urge to simply throw you into its belly and observe to see whether you could climb out on your own. “a rite of passage,” they would excuse with a fleeting glance, batting not a single eyelash when you finally spat out the volume of water that you've been trying to force out of your throat for the duration that you've been out of the water.
occasionally, seagulls would also appear in your illusions, striking their coloured beaks into the sand for what appeared to be insects and other miscellaneous creatures.
in this setting, freedom never felt so peaceful: a twisted, naive image of something that you wished could be but never will be. so against your own wishes, it’s forced into the backend of your thoughts, your attention drawing back to real life where you were a waitress in an underground establishment known for its impressive dancers and palatable wine.
in your peripheral, you spot emiko, receiving their tip for her work.
she looked satisfied, you note, rubbing her wet hands on the mounted handkerchief on the wall.
you would have congratulated her for her work but your mouth clamps shut remembering the status of your relationship.
strictly based on the fact that both of you worked in the same establishment, who were you to interrupt her of all people, now speaking with her co-workers who seemed delighted by her company.
now that you thought about it, you definitely looked desperate, staring at something that could’ve also been you but unfortunately failed to be.
you can call it the price you have to pay for being a natural loner.
“he only tipped her because she was feeding into his lust.” the tone is sharp and deep, waking her up from her evening mirage. now you're looking into the eyes of her only companion masaaki, sleeves rolled up to his forearms and shirt unbuttoned at its brink.
“nevermind that, your shirt is unbuttoned again idiot,” replying with an exasperated expression as your hands fly to his shirt, fixing its buttons and tidying it up a little. “you know the boss doesn’t like it when you don’t look representable.”
“last time i checked, the way i dress doesn’t affect business y/n.” he tells you.
“try explaining that to him.”
you notice his jaw click with agitation. “you know i’ve tried, and you know what the result was?”
you urge for him to continue the conversation, interested in what he had to say but he shakes his head.
“i was on cleaning duty for months and the things that these men leave behind are revolting.” you could tell from his grimaced features that the sights were highly unlikely to be nice. “i mean you wouldn’t believe the mess one man left after kyoko was finished for the night. absolutely dis—”
“o-okay!” you interject quickly, noticing his devil-like smirk fast enough to land a punch to his arm for the unnecessary details. “i didn’t ask for details!”
“yeah i know. guess i just wanted an excuse to talk to you before my shift ended.”
“didn’t think you thought about me like that misaaki wow.” and you smile cheekily, managing to somehow miss the way the tips of ears turned into the softest pink.
“yeah yeah whatever.” misaaki is quick to attend to the tables positioned near the entrance leaving you with the bar.
there were only two men there, both dressed in similar attire that made you assume were co-workers however their expressions said otherwise.
the first one wore tinted glasses, hiding the glint of his irises from your sight as he took another sip from the champagne glass containing the golden tinge of their own version of Krug.
the sleeves of his button up were also rolled up but unlike misaaki’s, his were struggling to conform to the form of his arms, possibly due to muscle.
you don’t let your eyes linger too long on his figure. though admirable, you didn’t have the leisure of pursuing something temperamental - especially now since you had yet to claim the freedom you’ve fantasized about from youth.
the man beside him was dressed in a similar outfit, his sleeves however were rolled down, probably compensated by the broadness of his back, you note, admiring the cuts and curves that his back managed to imprint into the materia-
“y/n those bar stools aren’t going to clean themselves up.” misaaki shouts from across the room, eyes narrowing in a mocking way.
he definitely caught me.
there wasn’t a need to reply to his sudden outburst - everyone in the establishment had mutually agreed to never reply since he always chose the most inconvenient times to ridicule his co-workers.
afterall just yesterday, he had already driven akane to tears after embarrassing her in front of a man she was deeply interested in.
you would’ve castrated him if he didn’t tell you his reasons for doing so which had left you flustered and slightly dazed.
rather than dwelling too much on the past, you step over to the bar and begin to work on each bar stool, taking special care to ensure that the material doesn’t tear due to the pressure you were applying to remove the stains of food and other ghastly things. tinges of cigarette smoke were the first thing you could pick up, the source belonging to the stray fling on the ground, still emitting smoke from whoever had decided to set it aflare.
“little inconsiderate to be doing that isn’t it,” comes the voice of someone unknown to you. your gaze lands on the man with blonde tufts of hair framing his face, glasses hanging from the bridge of his nose in a low, rather enticing manner.
“they don’t listen despite how many times i mention it,” you finally reply. “but i guess if they don’t listen now, i doubt they’ll listen in the future.”
valid in a sense. but not completely since you’ve only ever mentioned it once. other times resulted in the latter eyeing you up and down until your bravery watered down to a puddle and you requested misaaki to take care of the incident.
“there’s a reason why i don’t have you out there with the rest of them,” the boss says, pressing the smoked edges of his cigar into the small crater stationed at the corner of his work desk, newspaper hiding his hardened eyes and lips.
you never opposed what he said. most who did were never heard from again. misaaki was lucky in the sense that the boss could never truly banish him. he was a useful asset to have hold of from his tall, ever intimidating stature to his brain, it was no wonder that most of the women here would always fawn over him when his back was turned and shoot daggers, bullets and knives whenever they caught you exchanging words with him.
perhaps it was because of your aloof nature but everyone apart from you knew about his wavering interest in you. there was a reason why he always came to you before he finished his shift or put in that extra effort to tease you for something small and insignificant. he even made the effort to make sure you’ve eaten something before tending to your shift.
misaaki has always been there but you feigned oblivion to his good deeds. you blame some of it on your non-existent parents who had passed just after you turned three and your adoptive father who smothered your adoptive sister with all the love a father could muster.
to you, it felt like they were saying, “only some are deserving of unconditional love.” and it left you believing that love was nothing more than a construct that benefitted some and made others suffer.
and unfortunately for you, you were grouped with the latter.
“i’ll wait.” his words still echoed in your mind accompanied by that toothy grin that made your chest warm. maybe one day you’d be willing to give him a piece of your heart but that day wasn’t today. love was nothing but a construct that made the strong weaker and the free imprisoned. what you wanted was freedom from the system, not another uncertainty.
“that isn’t a good mentality to live by,” the other man quips. you were known for admiring things you found beautiful, mesmerizing and enticing. his eyes were found in the latter, sporting an eerie glow of whiskey and golden flecks of curiosity spritzed here and there in the pit of his irises.
his demeanour wasn’t intimidating like the first one or what misaaki was at first, it felt comforting. that’s what his body language was telling you.
“i don’t pride myself in it but that’s just something i’ve come to learn,” you shrug.
he inspects you for a few moments before nodding slowly. “i see.”
“i don’t mean to disturb you but is there any chance you might take a look at this image?” the first man with the rolled sleeves speaks up. he stands and it’s now that you notice his height. mysterious, tall and brawned… you kept your instincts sharpened
tentatively, you take the photo off his hands, thumbs scanning over the scratches marked on the glossy turned matte surface and nose taking in the scent of vanilla rose or whatever the name given to the smell of old pictures was.
a girl, dressed in a thin red dress is the subject of the image, most of it being a blurred mess but it was enough to distinguish the markings on her legs, something you suppose is prominent.
you try to ignore the upsettness of your stomach but not giving anything away that may deem to be lethal was the priority. if they were who you thought they were, then the goal was to keep things down without inviting inevitable deaths knowing him or the possibility of being found out.
the first thing you do is compliment the picture, asking how old the image was and whether they still sell film like this in today’s age. he clearly doesn’t know the answer, ticking off one box in your mind: the photo isn’t his.
“i’m not too sure myself but i’m sure my boss could provide some answers if you’re desperate to find out,” you tell them, faux innocence lacing your words. his gaze lingers on your figure a little too long for misaaki, who has been watching this dialogue play out for the past ten minutes, growing closer towards it source in time.
“nah it’s alright. i’ve got a curfew anyway.”
“at your age?”
“yeah my brother says that he’ll lock me out if i don’t get home before midnight,” he dryly lets out a chuckle. you don’t miss the confusion that was spread across his friend’s face. “well thanks for the help. we’ll take our leave now.”
and before he is able to do so, his friend hits his arm, signalling to something unknown to you. it takes a few more seconds for his eyes to widen in realisation.
“actually there is one more thing i’ve got to ask.”
the ordeal was simple enough. for fifty-eight thousand yen, they were willing to rent this place out privately for the night to congratulate their friend for making it to twenty-four years of age - with friends like that, i’m surprised they made it out of high school.
eventually, they took their leave sporting what seemed to have been an early hangover and an accomplishment, leaving you with a cheque with oh so many zeroes written on it and a sinful gleem written on your features.
when you got like this, there was no telling what you would do.
“i guess things will only go up from here.”
if you had sensed the irony in those words, perhaps you wouldn’t be in this current predicament.
conclusion: you blame your greed for money on your family. bags filled with gold, silver and green were the first thing you were taught to count instead of living a semi-normalized life. [2.2k]

Twisted Sister Aftermath Review Part 1
Hai hidey do everyone, it’s your friendly neighbourhood Review Anon here! Another Arc has come and past us and as such it’s time to review it! Hopefully I don’t end up with 5k worth of words here and have three megaton submissions here (and from now on I am not going back to using asks, why the heck I used asks beforehand is beyond me) Speaking of, I have a question, do you want me to go back and review previous arcs? Probably won’t do this until we have any kind of break or hiatus so to not break flow? But that’s enough time being wasted, we have the Twisted Sister Aftermath Arc here, and this review isn’t going anywhere so let’s get right into it!
Relationships and Reflections
So, when we last left off, Hajime passed out from inhaling too much smoke while saving Tsurugi from the bomb explosion and as it turned out he has been asleep for a good 8 hours! Its Monday but despite that the school is shut, which is understandable given that we had criminals running around and a serial killer attacking the school the previous day, Hope’s Peak seems to be more sensible than my previous school which didn’t shut down even when one of the main buildings got flooded (long story there). But the good news is that nearly all the criminals were captured by the QC and the police and are back where they belong. The bad news is that 3 criminals are still at large. 2 of them are petty criminals that have nothing to be concerned but there is one criminal who IS a big concern. You have 3 guesses who that person is and the first 2 don’t count. Yep, its Maverick Storm alright.
So, time for a bit of a confession here, Maverick as a character…isn’t all new to me. For some of you old timers here there was a blog called ‘Despair Kids’ which started out as Class 78 asking questions and then it evolved into an AU with lots of OCs, so many that it got too overwhelming and I lost interest in it. But there were a few I generally liked, and Kyoji’s and Maverick’s characters really stood out to me. When I started to read the enormous backlog of this blog, (I wish the best of luck to all newcomers and try to not binge it, even if you are a fast reader), and Umeko showed up during the Practical Exams arc, I got a sense of Deja vu, as I recalled hearing that character’s name before. But I didn’t think much at the time, not helped by the fact that Umeko was a pretty minor character in the Despair Kids, even when Maverick was on his self-imposed challenge to kill all of his class, Umeko evaded him by just dimension travelling to another universe, so her character didn’t have much impact. But as soon as I heard Kyoji and Maverick mentioned I thought ‘Oh…OH IT’S THE SAME PERSON WHO MADE THOSE CHARACTERS!’. And as mentioned, I really liked those OCs anyway so that as well as using Another characters really got me invested into this blog. And with all that said, let me reassure you guys that Maverick is a bastard with a capital B. The stuff he gets up to in Despair Kids, where he was a member of Despair, but secretly plotted to overthrow Junko, even the other Mods/Role-players were disgusted by it. Now Maverick is probably going to be going through some changes as the Mod’s OCs in this blog aren’t the same as the characters from the Despair Kids. To give some examples Kyoji’s backstory doesn’t mention Mikan, Kyoji isn’t into Mikan, he’s more into Miaya, Maverick got jailed etc. So, I won’t be surprised when Storm starts pulling shit, probably not as bad as Despair Kids as he isn’t under Junko’s thumb here…but hard to tell at the moment. But yeah, you have been warned, I consider Maverick a villain as bad as Junko and Mikado, and you will soon see why.
But enough about a character who hasn’t officially shown up yet, let’s focus on a reformed villain and that is the new and improved Kanade! I feel mixed upon this new Kanade as part of me wants to love her as in this state she is so sweet and innocent, which is what people probably thought of Kanade when they first saw her in SDAR2, and I did at first, my thoughts about Kanade at the time were ‘It’s almost as if Hiyoko and Mikan are siblings, let’s hope Kanade doesn’t go crazy like Mikan did’ and that statement aged like milk. When Kanade became suspiciously smart and helpful during the Class Trials I was kinda sus because normally with the Trial Point Getters there is normally some logic to why said character is good in the Trails, like Koroko being a Psychologist can analysis people’s feelings and deduce who the culprit, and Syobai’s background means he has to use his brain quite a bit, but Kanade is supposed to be a Guitarist in a Pop band, she shouldn’t be this good. But my theory was she was lying about her talent, because that’s nothing new in Danganronpa, but ho boy was that a mistake. But at the same time as much as I want to hug this new Kanade, I’m also hyper conscious that the mindwipe might not be a permeant solution as well Junko got mindwiped in the OG timeline and we all know how well THAT ended. Then again, the relapse didn’t fully occur until Yasuke decided to kill Ryoko so as long as nobody tries to strangle Kanade, we should be good. It also means that Hibiki gets the little sister that she thought she had back, and you can tell this a new stage of development for her. Hibiki has grown as a person since back in July but while that part of her character development has finished, a new part starts as she tries and rebuild a proper healthy relationship with Kanade because Hibiki wasn’t completely innocent in the reason why Kanade became a monster. Granted, a lot of it was Kanade being twisted to begin with but had Hibiki been kinder and not been a total bitch to her, I don’t think Kanade would have gone fully down the deep end as it seems her psychopathic behaviour is more of a nurture rather than nature thing. Something I believe will be explored a bit more once Junko enters the scene because well…Kanade is basically Junko on easy mode. The real deal will be a lot harder to handle. And naturally Kyoji has offered to take care of her…I don’t know why Kyoji has turned into the guardian of reformed little girls, but it’s a welcome surprise to be sure. I just hope Kanade doesn’t get wrapped up in Storm’s schemes because given that Kyoji is his arch-enemy…
We can make sure Kanade is a good girl now but there’s still the small issue that she escaped from jail and the police are looking for her so one needs to fake her death. This is a joint operation by Kyoji and Nikei as Kyoji cloned some of Kanade’s body parts and left them near where a bomb went off to give the impression that Kanade got killed during the Prison Break, and judging from Tsurugi’s reaction, it seems to have worked. Speaking of Tsurugi, he is resting and due to his injuries is desk bound for a couple of weeks and receiving care from Mikan. Mikan caring for Tsurugi helps in two ways, as firstly being the Ultimate Nurse, she would be qualified to help make sure nothing serious happens to Tsurugi and Tsurugi doesn’t know that Mikan is part of the Quantum Crew and working with Kasugano, so it means someone is near Tsurugi who can relay information to Kasugano and co. That’s two girls with ties to Kasugano that Tsurugi has interacted with and he doesn’t suspect a thing. Okay to be fair with Akane when he first met her, she was an independent force and wasn’t working for Kasugano at that point but my point still stands. Not much to talk about our police boy here aside from Mod confirming that Tsurugi x Kouhei is going to be a thing in this blog. To be fair everyone could see the sexual tension between those two and that’s why people felt funny when Kanade mocked their relationship as they wanted to ship the two but it meant siding with a demonic guitar child. But said demonic guitar child is no more so no need to worry about shipping! And as for Nikei, he is writing up an article detailing Kanade’s demise as to throw the media off Kanade’s scent and then it’s just waiting for all the media hype around Kanade to die down and once that happens, she can be transferred to one of the many care facilities that Kyoji knows. How many does he know at this point? And while we are on the subject of Newsie here, it’s time to discuss a growing friendship, and possible relationship that is developing between him and Akane.
I had my suspicions for some time by their interactions but it was Akane’s and Nikei’s interactions in this Arc which solidified my viewpoint on their relationship. And that is Akane is more or less a foil to Mikado. Think about it for a second. They weren’t founding members of Void, they both grew up in hellish orphanages, got out of said orphanages thanks to Utsuro, ended up meeting the man himself at some point and inherited his Divine Luck at various points, though Mikado only succeeded in a Bad Ending. But at the same time, they both have different motives for going after Utsuro, Akane wanted to thank him for what he’s done for her and when she did successfully meet him, dutifully served under him, even when Junko came and corrupted them both. And while Utsuro had his crippling trust issues and constantly worried if Akane would betray him at some point, the fact that he gave Akane Divine Luck after she took mortal damage protecting the other survivors from Monokuma, showed that at some level he did care for her. Mikado desired the Divine Luck for his own personal benefit, burned down several orphanages to trigger another encounter and upon meeting with Koroko, hatched a horrible plan to ‘revive’ Utsuro, then Mikado would kill him and steal the Divine Luck for himself. Only reason it backfired was firstly because Mikado (both real and AI) didn’t realise Utsuro gave the Divine Luck to Akane, who was then later used to create Sora, and secondly Syobai betrayed him by siding with the Kisurugi Foundation. Their clashing roles can be no better illustrated then with their relationship with Void’s leader, Nikei. We don’t know how Nikei reacted to Mikado initially because it’s still a lot of unknown factors until the Onmake mode comes out canonically, but while wary at first because of how extreme Mikado’s plan was, was probably willing to trust him. And then as Mikado undermined him and usurped the role of leader from Nikei, that relationship quickly soured and a rotting despairing sense of hatred and revenge grew within Nikei, eroding away his humanity (from reading LINUQ’s blog, where he goes into detail regarding the various characters from SDAR2, he states that Nikei used to be a lot more warm-hearted before Mikado came along, but his hatred for the wizard made him much crueller) And it got to the point where the lines between Nikei and Mikado got blurry, and I’ll say that Nikei ended up being no different from Mikado in the end. And thus, he died a broken hateful mess. Now as for Akane, she and Nikei got off on a bad note; she kicked Nikei in the stomach, he responded by almost blowing Akane’s brains out, fun stuff like that. But once the misunderstanding and proof that Akane was good arose, a friendship of sorts started to develop between the two. The first signs we saw of this is *sigh* Oncoming Storm Arc. Among the hot pile of shit that Arc was, one of the VERY, VERY few good parts about it, was that when some Anons unintendedly hit a trigger phrase for Akane, which was mentioning older men, she went into a panic attack and out of all the people who could have comforted Akane during this moment, it was Nikei who did so. And now in this arc, we are seeing that Nikei is a bit more open with Akane then he is with other non-Void members of the Quantum Crew. He’s not taken the news that he snapped back to his old self during the Massacre timeline well, and bemoans that it shows he hasn’t changed, but Akane reassures him he has and that the timeline can serve as a lesson to improve oneself from and mentions she had trust issues initially but thanks to Utsuro, she is very much a people person now. And of course, we get the cute wholesome scene of those two cuddling each other, can someone please make fanart of these two cuddling, we need it. Mikado brought the worst out of Nikei and eventually led to his death, whereas Akane brings out the best in Nikei and would possibly help him into living a full refreshing life. Sora is more or less the third wheel in this relationship.
Annnnddd…I have talked for way too long. That’s part 1 of the review where I talk about relationships regarding all the characters but when we come back its when the plot comes back in when Class 77-B gets debriefed on the truth and a shocking new discovering on Time Travel is revealed. Stay tuned as we won’t be away for long! - Review Anon

Hey, it’s me again- Danganronpa AU anon... 3H Anon? I’ll call myself 3H for now, it’s simpler. Hope you don’t mind me responding!
Anyways, that’s. Fair- I’ll admit I tend to charge ahead without thinking, so I hadn’t quite considered the ramifications of so many characters... [eyes Teruteru, Hiyoko, and Korekiyo] I could always toss the unnecessary baggage, I guess. And switching POVs also isn’t a bad idea!
Oh yeah that’s definitely something I have to think more about, don’t worry! I’m torn between “the Mastermind arranged it beforehand” and “the Mastermind uses innocent their attempts to organize before the Killing Game was announced against them,” but I’m indecisive so I’m not quite solid yet, ahaha. But! Having the leaders being the ones voting is a good idea, definitely clears up having so many votes- And it adds some potential for guilt because what if they have to vote off one of their own? Though that begs the question of if the murderers are told they can escape with the rest of their group or their leader or something like that- Either way, Kaede and Makoto and Hajime wouldn’t stand for that, but it’s logistics I have yet to really work out (in my defense, Killing Games can already be pretty complicated).
As for timespan- I’m torn. On the one hand, a quicker, murder-a-week scenario would keep with the pace of the games, but on the other hand, a more drawn out game would allow feelings of unease to fester... Hm. Of course, I could also see it being both, depending on how Monokuma does things and who the motives are targeting.
Speaking of motives, but for the game itself- Not sure yet, in all honesty! I’m kinda leaning towards an outside force being the Mastermind, with a spy or two on the inside, but that leaves the question of why... Which, I’ve always thought the NDRV3 plot twist of “it’s a TV show” had more potential than they used- Maybe something based on that? Like, rich people are paying and setting it up? Or it could take a page from SDR2 and use VR... Maybe both? I’m very unsure, I haven’t gotten super far in planning yet- It’s a lot of baseline stuff, but nothing concrete.
As for the teams... For starters, I’m not sure who the Mastermind is quiiite yet. I’ll figure it out eventually, though. Probably not Junko though, because the idea of her still being obsessed with Despair, but not As Much, is interesting to me.
Yeah, that was kinda the thought process in regards to Nagito- If he’s given the ability to choose, he’d go for someone with a “real” talent (since it’s established he doesn’t think of luck as one).
That makes sense for Byakuya! He’s be more taken with someone who stands up to him, and Makoto is... Ah, not that- At least not at first. I’ll probably stick him with Kaede, in that case, because I feel like their interactions would be the most interesting.
Hmmm that makes sense for Fuyuhiko! I hadn’t actually thought about that resemblance, good point... Which, maybe that plays into a starcrossed lovers thing, like you mentioned? Peko could be somewhere else, and god knows that’d devastate them both.
That’s. A good point, Mikan would work best with someone not as pushy as the other two leaders- If nothing else, Makoto reminds me of a cream puff, and it’s hard to find that intimidating.
Thanks for responding to my last message, by the by! I appreciate the feedback (also, bold of you to assume I'm capable of writing).
Sorry for answering so late, 3H-san!
It’s understandable that you want to cut people from the cast, but once you do, you then have to justify it. I don’t like canon Kiyo that much, but he’s someone’s fav and they’re going to ask why he was cut. You’re going to need a satisfying narrative answer for those types of people or risk losing their readership. (the only real solution I’ve thought of is something similar to the beginning of ndrv3 where everyone is chased to the gym, only this time certain people don’t make it and get killed. This would allow some bonding by trauma, allow the hopes to save certain people and kickstart there yan parts of their dere, AND get rid of certain people) (tho I do suggest keeping Kiyo, he’s good for the drama)
(for a mastermind idea, what if it was kirigiri’s dad? there’s no tragedy in this verse so he could totally be a villain)
Timespan wise, keep in mind that the longer the game goes on, the more likely it would be for some type of law enforcement to find them. Or for one of their loved ones to break them out.
More characters!
I’m assuming that each team needs 5 from each class (assuming that ur still into the whole 48 people killing game).
Kaede’s team:
Tenko should go to Kaede, since tenko would never willingly take orders from a man. She’d probably drag Himiko over too (making five class 79 characters). For class 77 (u mixed up the order, 77 are Ultimate Despair), I stand by Fuyuhiko, but Sonia and Gundam would make for good members. Maybe Sonia remembers Kaede from when she played piano for her dad? And while teruteru would try to be on her team, Ibuki would get there before him. For class 78, Chihiro would be a good fit, he would feel more comfortable with a female leader. Add in Byakuya, and I think the last space here should be taken by Celeste, she would make for a wonderful possessive yandere (plus she could play off Kokichi).
Makoto team: 78: Since everything else is filled in with Naegi’s harem, he can have yamada and suffer (also, can you really see Hajime or Kaede putting up with him?) 79: Keebo, bc cinnamon rolls stick together. Maki, bc I’m trying to put at least one high key protector character on each team. Gonta, see Keebo’s explanation. and Ryoma, bc depression. 77: Soda, bc like the protector characters, having one inventor type keeps things balanced. And Hiyoko, since Koizumi can deal with her.
Hajime’s team: 77: filling in the rest, teruteru, peko, akane, and nekomaru (only now do i realize how many fighters are on Hajime’s team, damn. but he also has many problem people, so... 78: Aoi, Sakura, Mondo 79: Miu, Kaito.
these are just ideas, mind you.

My take for the Main Theme of SDRA2
I know I said I wanted to talk about Syobai or trans Yuri first but I feel like in order to write my future kinda long post analysis essays I will first need to talk about this. Because it ties into a lot of how I view the characters designs.
And the thing I need to talk about is the themes that are the driving message. Dr1 had hope vs despair, Dr2 had the future, and Drv3 had Doubt vs Belief and Logic vs Emotion. But as SDRA2 is want to do it does the same but with a bizzar twist. Instead of sending a message it instead sends a question. "What makes you...you?". The equivalent of this is asked in the Mastermind Mikado's only FTE and he proposes a couple answers, though they will not be all of the answers look into this post. The answers I will be looking into are your genetics, your memories, your surroundings, the people close to you, fate, and finally yourself. And these answers are shown throughout the individual stories of each of the characters.
Let's begin with the initial 3 Mikado mentions in the FTE. Genetics, memory, and surroundings. The odd one out is has the most obvious correlation. Now I say genetics but it's more or so your body. But Mikado uses genetics as a reference for the Okononji twins, who have genetically the exact same bodies but are two and complete different people. Now with this is where we get to the faults in the logic of the Mastermind. He uses this example as a reason to discard the idea. To him it's plain and simple that your body does not affect who you are a person but it does. Just not to the extent that satisfies him. No matter how many times your memories are reset or your surroundings are changed there are just some things that will remain with you as a person because your just BUILT that way. But what little idea could an AI have of how the body effects you when he has none.
With the odd one out of the bunch out of the way let's get into what I believe are two sides of the same coin. Memories and Surroundings combine together to make a greater core theme of "The Past" in a way to spiritually Mirror the main game it's based off of whose main theme was the future. Memories I believe are a more solid form of how the past effects you as a person. They are specific. Things that your mind is able to pull up for you. Positive life changing experiences or in the case of our characters trauma. Mikado also dismisses the because as in the case of the former answer, it does not personally effect him. Mikado is an AI created to be an exact replica of the real version. Even his memory was deleted he would remain the same person. It's why Mikado's "backstory" are played by a robot Yomouri. A robot aproxamation of someone you know who's dead gives backstory on the motivations on a man who's dead and this info is actually if I'm correct doesn't even come up in the trial. And then he destroys because the backstory of the man who created him has no effect in his master plan.
Instead he suggests his answer. Your surroundings. Surroundings are morso how your past affects you in way you don't remember. Things that just sort of happen over the day to day and imprint themselves onto you. The things you do without thinking because that's the way you were raised. And with this we can begin to understand his thought on his own identity but also for creating the killing game. You see Mikado the AI had a completely different surrounding than the real one. A digital one. One no human could not experience. This is why I think while linuj said that the real Mikado would have gone down the same path that AI Mikado goes out of his way to make himself look so different. I also believe they have different end goals. Mainly because AI Mikado specifically destroyed and made irrelevant any motivation would have for seeking out Usturo. Now maybe one the the Mikado stans who have watched chapter 0 ten times over can extrapolate what the original's end goal might have been but that's not who were here for. What was Mikado's plan? It's one of two parts. First is to create the surroundings that led to "creating Utsuro" in the first game. Create a killing game, have each trial vaugly keep some of the elements as the representatives in the original killing game, and have a Yuki stand-in to experience it and ba da bing ba da boom. You got yourself an Utsuro....ok let's get into the secret ingredient that makes all this work.
FATE! The divine will of the cosmos! DESTINY!!! Or in the context of this story a plot device known as "The luck of the Heavens". Now I would kind of get into the mechanics of the luck but it was done some wack and contradictory bullshit. I'm at this point it just does whatever it wants. Because sometimes its working against his will but still pull of some crazy bullshit to fulfill the dying wish of his. And Mikado is kinda banking on the Ultimate luck to make everything just work? Like him being brought back is a good thing as the luck has thought in the past then the mere act at an attempt of resurrection should work. It's why he always says "The Outcome has Already been Decided" because even though he's not aware Sora posseses the luck he will believe it's still working in his favor. Funnily enough it works not out of Utsuro's will to live but out of Akane's desire to be with Utsuro. That horny fuck is still working her magic even when removed of her memories. You see I believe the way Akane received the luck from Utsuro is because he wished "that she would find someone who loved her in her next life and not someone like him". And now here she is in this new life. But now the luck is in possession of Akane the idea of someone to love her was different. The luck of the heavens was now following two different wills for the same goal. This is why we have Yuki, the one who will eventually become Utsuro, the one who Akane desires most. And also why we have Yoruko, Utsuro's last will, someone for Akane in her new life as Sora, someone who Sora latches onto not because she was saved from any pit of despair but out of the genuine kindness and caring she gave to her. Yes I'm going to say it. Soruko is the entire reason for the killing game but I will get more into that in my Soruko essay.
But while we are talking about Utsuro let's talk a bit about how we let others define ourself. This one affects more on an individual level than it does a narrative level so I'm just going to list some examples. Akane let's her obsession with Utsuro define her. Nikei let's his hatred of Mikado define him to the point where his little void card focused rather than it did his actual trauma that led to him becoming a void like it did with the others. You learn that in her past Yoruko changed a lot of how she looked and lived in order to get closer to one person. Sora is affected in many ways affected by Akane. Someone who is like with the twins the same as her but not her. A wholey different person that lives on through her. All of the voids let their desire to see Utsuro define them.
And we get to our final answer. And remember none of these are to be the definite answer but all of these inform who you are. But the final most powerful thing is what Yoruko beats into Sora's head in chapter 5. You. It's a little bit cheesy but no one is better at knowing or defining yourself than you. Sure your past can affect you but you can understand it as a part of yourself and something you can live with rather than letting it overcome you. That yeah she does share the same body and past as Akane but she does not have to let that define who she is but she can decide that for herself.
And that's one of the things I like about the ending when you look past some of the more wack shit. It wasn't a good or a bad ending. It was just an ending, a mixed bag of tragedies and the good things we have left. Yeah the masterminds dead but so is everyone else who died. Sora is trapped in the program but hey! Try is working on getting out. Because life is just like that. The happen to you good or bad, they affect you but ultimately time passes and your story continues. I think it's why Sora told everyone to "live" as her parting words. Because yeah the situation sucks but they are now on the other end of the tunnel so the best thing they can do is to live on.
But yeah anyways those are my takeaway of a bunch of ideas I had bopping around in my head. If it's a little incoherent I'm sorry I kinda free wrote this while high. Hope this all makes somewhat sense and I'm not just talking out of my ass.

Ranma 2/4
Part 3; Final: chapter 26-38
After this it’s on to good and proper timeline deliberation
These two are honest-to-God morons and I want to punch them in the face
*sigh* Ranma…
Y’know I almost had hope that this differed in the manga
Guess not
I DO NOT approve of alienation
However, getting emotional character development out of Ranma is like pulling teeth
So alienate away
Emotional Oof
THANK YOU!
*chuckles* Ryoga, you’re great
BREATHE
He’s dying don’t kill him early
FINALLY!
Ooo
didn’t see that coming
*tightly* I’m fine
okay, Ranma, you know what to do
*heaves giant ass sigh* RANMA!
*screams*
Look I know no chill, kay, shut up
RIP my shipping heart
*sighs* FUCK!
Not gonna lie, I’m Ranma
Careful, Akane might kill you
And with the way Hinako’s acting she deserves it
I’m actually with Nabiki on this one
I love how Ranma is rolling with this
Ooo that’s gonna sting
Those 3 are terrifying, honestly
Hinako, your timing is awful
STOP USING RANMA AS YOUR LANDING PAD SHAMPOO!
Ranma blubbering hurts WAY more than I thought it would
Ranma, you’re digging your own grave here
Someone call me when he learns his lesson FINALLY
*cringes* Yikes, tbh I can’t tell if she’s playing him
Ranma you shit
WHY
Why is it always Kuno?!
Oof this gonna hurt w Kuno’s understanding of Ranma’s curse
Expect all Ranma and Kuno- especially Ranko- interactions to hurt really bad
Ukyo, you’re an idiot
You too Ryoga
Honestly
Alright, that’s funny
Ukyo, you’re lucky they’re dumb
Oh God, you two are SO wrong, but I love it
Aaand what does that say about you two Akane?
Ooo I could make this really mean
It’s SO tempting
Well, that went nowhere
Poor Ranma
So many trans vibes, honestly
*screams* HOW? Who? WHY?!
Wha-wha-what?!?!
Ouch, that’s gonna sting SO bad
heheh
Ouch, that hurt surprisingly more than I thought it would
Further proof that Genma SUCKS
Just this once, gimme soft
PLEASE
Close enough…
Okay, this fight was AWESOME!!
*sigh* Why am I even surprised by Genma’s reasoning anymore?
If Ranma cries, Imma cry
Excuse me while I go scream
I literally don’t even know what to do with this
Chuck it in the fuck it bucket and move on, I guess
okay, the end was funny though
Soun, is that bird didn’t look out of it’s gourd I’d believe you
*Chucks whole birdhouse* “fair”
A+ pic of Ranma
In his defense, he can argue something else, they just won’t listen cuz Shampoo won’t go with the truth
Alright, so Shampoo is smart, but with Ranma she’s an idiot
Wouldn’t the smart idea be to send Ranma AND Akane in with all 4 objects at the start?
Ok, Shampoo Sleep-Fighting is funny
Ranma is so underwhelmed that he’s just not even caring anymore
How Kasumi the scariest one to be possessed
Alright, anything with Nabiki on the cover worries me
Holy Shit he played Nabiki
I’d be impressed if I wasn’t annoyed to hell
Let’s all be glad right now that Genma never mastered this
Where do you think he would’ve sent it?
My inclination’s the Tendos
If nothing else I’m impressed by Nabiki
Now play this man like a kazoo PLEASE
When Ranma lectures you on how you’re acting like kids, you done fucked up
I’m with Ranma
Are you sure Akane?
Cuz I’m not
Heheheheh
Thems the breaks Ranma
You deserve it
Holy Shit Ryoga, nice
Now, I understand that Pigs are your life, but you might be dead
And honestly, I don’t blame him
Okay, that one’s gonna hurt
No matter how you slice it
Morality, Ranma, I know you have it
I hate this
Ok, that was uncalled for
Ranma he’s gonna kill you
Also WTF are you thinking?!?
Oof
Wait… what?
I’m officially concerned
Ok, I actually kinda like this interlude
Akane… seriously, trust is a thing you need to learn
One would think she’d learn…
Okay, that is actually creepy
I would too Ranma, I would too
Jesus fucking Christ, you suck Happosai
LetRanmaMeetHisMomCOVID19!
Gemma you shit
Happosai, go fuck yourself
Nevermind, don’t let him meet her, this is ridiculous
“Where’s the fridge?” “Akane wanted it”
I shouldn’t’ve laughed as hard as I did
*sigh* I just want Ranma to have ONE normal parental figure in his life, is that too much to ask?!
I already hate this idea
He comes back Imma scream
Since when?
On what planet does penpal = boyfriend/girlfriend?
Ryoga, PICK ONE!
I’m getting annoyed with you Ryoga, which sucks cuz you’re one of my faves
Ryoga, how are you this gullible?
You deserved that Ranma
I would wish the fate of being Kuno’s wife on no one
Ever
Congrats Ukyo you’ve actually made me freak out
I don’t appreciate it
At all
*shudders*
Oh this is SO weird
Of y’all keep making comments like this WHY do you keep trying?!
Nevermind it’s Hiroshi and Daisuke, they’re in the know
I’m going to say it again
AKANE LEARNS TO SWIM LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!
This is why you don’t buy cheap food people
I can’t lie, I’ve been waiting for Akane to get possessed
That moment when the ghost is honestly being a bit too sensitive
Actually, he didn’t, so shut up
I could make the Hawaiian thing so Explicit
But I won’t, cuz y’know consequences and stuff
I’m not going to ask how Ashura drowned at Josenkyo
Taro, quit being a dick, you turn into a Minatour-like thing
God he’s dumb
When Crazy and Crazy wanna duke it out, Ranma’s got the right idea
Excuse me, what?!
Ooo, now you’ve made Akane mad, run
Wtf is wrong with you, Kodachi, he’s literally unconscious!
I think that was almost character development?
I can’t tell
Ranma should not look that good in a suit
Whoa, she actually like… said it
Damn
Everyone’s got 4 sec to start treating Ranma like a person
Oof, right in his pride
Akane, I need you to stop being cute for 3 sec so I can focus
Yeah, I ain’t making it dormant
Ranma, I can’t tell if this is sexism or jealousy, either way it looks ugly on you
“At least he’s scaring the cats” harsh Kasumi
Okay, so I’m 90% sure it’s just jealousy, which better but still ugh
Ranma, you can be kickass when Akane is too
Ya goddamn moron
I’m going to beat that into him
There will probs be some angst about that
Not gonna lie
Look I’m good at it
Sorry
Ranma, if you want to get MURDERED that’s the way to do it
Smooth one, idiot
Called out
You better do this right or I swear, I’ll kill you myself, Ranma
I believe that is a fail
Of epic proportions, congrats
You NEED to learn to keep your mouth shut Soun
Awww
But he’s not lying!
Ranma, just run, she’s actually pissed this time
FUCKING RUN!
Alright, Akane, NO
You’re playing into the patriarchy
Oh, right… 80’s...
I’m changing that!!
Oh My God PLEASE tell me Ranma gets deaged!! Please!
Ranma’s got more patience for assholes than I do
Jesus
Hah
He deserved that
Part of me wants to see Kasumi actually get pissed off
YES!!
I LOVE degaging plots!
Ranma, I want you to math that one out, just a little
YES!
I am LIVING for this!
There is so much wrong with that sentence Kodachi
Ok, that was a little too cruel Akane
Someone either get Mousse recognized as Legally Blind
Or someone get him glasses that work!
Either one, but PLEASE
I just got a “draw me like one of your french girls” joke from a horse
Even though the widespread joke is LITERALLY at least 30 years later than this image
OOF
Ice Cold
We’re running out of chapters for her to find out
She better have a canon way of doing it otherwise I’m gonna be really mean with it…
Bean… Gun… Plant…
Eh Seen weirder
Aww Valentine’s Day chapter!
Yes!
Poor Ranma
These two are blind to each other
Heheh
Aww
I love these dorks
Heheh oops, busted
I still just find the principal an honest annoyance
Wait… when did Ranma start wearing a school uniform?
Congrats Miss Hinako!
I just now realized that I’m going to have write someone who is ok with having a female chest
Gag me with a spoon
Bleh
I’m bad at that
I really do want to give Ranma clothes that do actually fit his female form
Ranma needs to look at the terms and conditions of good curse
Cuz this is getting creative
Uh oh
Ranma you have a brain, please use it
Hehe, she’s doing her body laundry
Oh shit
THANK YOU SOUN!
Fucking Happosai
Why are you the actual worst!
Oh shit
Goddammit Nodoka
That one was ALL on you
I expected this from Nabiki, but wtf Nodoka?!
Happosai you twisted fuck
Heheheh alright that’s funny
If nothing else Shampoo is sneaky
WHY is that the only way to undo it?!
Poor Akane she is so lost
Aw, poor Ryoga
Definitely not, Akane, but thank you for posing that question
Thank you for calling him out on his ego
This would be hilarious to see this before anyone had any bit of a clue about Ranma’s two forms
Also, Ranma, you need to keep her safe from the Kunos
 *sigh* Akane, you’re wrong
 Ooo, not good
And that is what no self control looks like folks
 What is with that ending?
And this is what manipulation look like folks
Also, y’know, robbing someone blind
I’m assuming this is Konatsu and I love them already
I’m using they/them cuz I’m unsure of what pronouns to use
Y’know I thought the Cinderella thing was a joke, turns out I was wrong
I do not understand Konatsu’s thought process w Ukyo at all
Also, can you not knock them out?
I am forgetting the name of that one Hero from Supergirl but if my understanding Konatsu is correct I’m DEFINITELY going to do that
Yeah, that’s NOT how that’s gonna go over
Okay, can we all agree that the trick Kuno used on Ranma is HORRIBLE, right?
 Wholeass mood for Ranma
Like you two need to shut up
I just want Ranma to wear a sun shirt and trunks to the beach ONCE
Ryoga… how are you so lost that you came up through the ground?
Ranma, how are you both a dick and a good friend at the same time?
Just tell me How on Earth did Akari justify the hot water for Ryoga with revealing that he’s Pchan
I’d like to think that’d be something they wouldn’t skip over
No questions, just punches a grave
Why does that grave hit back?
Honestly Nodoka almost finding is stressing me out
I could be SO angsty with the Neko-ken Fear thing
Someone tell me not to I’m that much of an asshole
So glad that she’s apparently gonna learn bc I would’ve been SO mean
God, Genma you actually suck
Oh, thank God she’s not too smart
The fact that he’s 300% ready to die is actually depressing
 That was actually quite touching
If we ignore the way Ranma phrasing that is just plain wrong
Uhm… what?
 C-can she do that?
I hope not
God, you two are so dumb!
Is her definition of “manly” emotionless?!
Bitch, have a heart!
Oh God make them ALL leave! ALL OF THEM!
You feel? You said “you’re leaving”
Ranma, the fact that you didn’t put that together I can’t help you Like my dad says “I can’t fix stupid”
The fact that he feels the need to run screaming from his own house…
Nabiki, WHY
I’m convinced at this point that there is something Nabiki HATES about Ranma and that’s why she’s making his life a living hell
Cuz you do realize at least ⅓ of his problems are because she told someone something that was private
I can’t tell if that’s an insult or a backhanded comment
Either way, RUDE
I can’t tell, is that Konatsu or is that Tsubasa?
Must go back and check cuz Akane’s comment about “trasvestite and a homosexual” confused me since Ranma mentioned being “the first male kunoichi”But then who HAS TO BE Tsubasa says they’re a straight guy
*sigh*
 Yep, nope, that’s Konatsu
My understanding was that Konatsu was like actually trans in canon
Apparently I mixed that up
I’m making it canon
 MtF Konatsu
 Bisexual Konatsu
One of these days someone is going to teach people to cook before assuming they know what they’re doing
 Seriously It’s not that hard
Did they seriously just try to marry an unconscious Akane to Ranma?!
What The Fuck?!
Aww, she’s cute
Ryoga has a bad sense of direction, but he’s never missed before…
Okay, that’s a little strange
Why is she hatching?
Poor Mousse
Lol, that was so sweet until Ranma was dumb
It’s still sweet, who am I kidding
“Do I look like I wear Totoro underwear” oh that’s GOLDEN
Le shit
Firstly, Genma is still and idiot
Second, how is he already in Moscow?!
Third, why do I find this hilarious
Oh fuck
YES Kick her ass Akane!
I’m confused
Ok, was heralding back to the first chapter intentional?
Why does he have the staff in the bath?
Ok, I THINK I know what’s happening here…
Oof Can you two leave?
Ok, I was DEAD wrong
Wait…
If she…
If the DROWNED AKANE Imma commit murder
Damn, if you wanna piss off Ranma that’s how you do it
I don’t know why anyone would think pissing him off is smart
Oh, thank God, she’s okay
What is with this kid?
Why is he such a pain in the ASS?!
So I know she’s not dead
Unless SEVERAL DOZEN Fanfics have lied to me
Which is entirely possible since they were all listed as AUs
Uhm… Ranma… you okay?
Good, get him out cuz he’s clearly in shock
 This hurts
Okay, hate to be the one who complains that Akane’s not dead, but that doesn’t track
At all
Can I rescience this?
Please?
Am I going to be an ass about it, probably, but it’s me no one should be surprised by that in any way
“Honored and crazy guest” I mean, accurate
Alright, Shampoo you’ve got exactly 1 chance
Then I’ll maybe apologize for calling you names constantly
Oh I am gonna be such an asshole in this scene
Also extend it some
Oh, God I could be such a dick
I’ll restrain
I’ll just write one-shots instead
Mousse do the right thing
You have a Moral Compass I know that!
“Anytime THIS YEAR!” Damn the witty quips
Yeah, but you won morally
That’s what’s important
Why the Scooby-Doo line?
Go Ranma!
Ok, so that comment about Ranma basically fighting a God is NOT an overstatement
Noted
Congrats Ranma you made me Google a word
Turns out it is a word that had its height of use in the 80s
Neat
Explains why I had no clue what it meant
Someone shoot those damn chicken brains OUT OF THE SKY!
“Only rocks”, rocks Ryoga just confirmed are 3 Tons
*sigh* I’m gonna have to physics the shit out of that
Joy
I cannot tell you the amount my heart dropped when I saw a full color double spread
Jesus Christ
DAMN
You’re gonna make me cry, dammit
Aww
YAY!
Heheh poor Ranma
Chill, hun, you’re good
Aww he’s tiny!
WHAT IS WITH YOU 2?!
STOP trying to marry your kids while they’re unconscious!
I’m not crying you are!
*tightly* I’m fine
Kodachi LET IT GO
Literally everyone else too! I hate you all
Just so it’s on the record I’m pissed
Ok, so “back to the start” is definitely an oversimplification because Akane knows Ranma loves her Ranma knows she knows
Akane! Your turn!
Ooo, IDEA!
