I just reread all of Disposable Heroes because it is just so good and I’m in love with it. I really hope Joyce and Hopper get the riot act read to them as well! They just saw awkwardness going down with Steve at the center and told him that they don’t trust him at all. Despite all he’s done for their kids, Joyce doesn’t believe he could be gracious about Eddie’s crush or about Eddie being gay in general, and Hopper just tells him to fix his shit when they don’t have the full story. Especially with Joyce pulling out the “I love you” card right before telling Steve that she still expects him to act like he did three years prior. Robin should get to yell at them and tell them to leave Steve alone if that’s what they really think of him

Thank you so much!! Don't worry, I'm definitely planning on them facing some repercussions for how they treated Steve after the main story is done. I wanted to add the part between Joyce and Steve bc I feel like they don't get a lot of time together (both canon and fanon) so I wanted to give em a lil spotlight. In my opinion, Joyce doesn't know about Nancy/Jonathan's lil get together via Murray and what that meant for Steve and has just assumed that Nancy left Steve for something he did. Joyce wants to be nice to Steve bc he's been there for the kids but she still distrusts him bc of the conclusions she jumped to about his character (even tho those assumptions were true once upon a time, that doesn't mean they're necessarily true now). The same goes for Hopper bc he knows kids can be stupid and he remembers all the times he would go to Hawkins High because some kid got beat up too much by some rich pretty boys who lived off daddy's money and assumed that people like that couldn't (and wouldn't) change. Also he's an extremely awkward person when it comes to emotions/emotional confrontations so he would absolutely just avoid talking about anything meaningful whatsoever and instead give a vague reprimand like he does to Steve. Joyce is naturally motherly, and I added a bit of angst with the "I love you" scene bc I feel like Steve's parents have never said that and meant it before. Having Steve hear it from a motherly figure like Joyce while also knowing she distrusts him and his intentions is just- ugh it's good angst. I'm definitely planning on getting them back pretty good and letting them learn they cannot judge a person just because of what they did in their past. As always, thank you for the ask!!

How would Max, Carl, Sandra, Frank, Natalie, and Ken react to Ben holding a family meeting so he could have the lil chills meet the rest of the family? How would they react to Gwen and Kevin knowing about the lil chills before they did, and them not telling them?

Ooh, this is quite the meaty question 👀

First of all, I feel like it would be Gwen who practically forces him to hold the meeting. I've always thought Ben wouldn't be real keen on talking about the subject. Not bc he doesn't like the Little Chills but bc discussing the fact that you technically are a mother when you're a teenager and a guy at that is just a bit awkward. But, anyway, I think Gwen would eventually get guilty after being reminded of the Little Chills and she'd be the one to suggest they tell the rest of the family, especially Sandra and Carl. 

Also, I feel like Max already knows and I’ll explain why. In Above and Beyond, Manny makes reference to Big Chill’s rampage. Now, Kevin could’ve very easily told Manny and the others about the incident at some point. Seems like a very Kevin thing to do. But I was struck with a thought: What if it was actually Grandpa Max who told them? This is like a whole ‘nother headcanon, but my thought was they told Max and he ended up letting it slip to the Plumber’s Helpers by complete accident. I also think Grandpa Max would be the only one Ben would willingly tell without being convinced by Gwen. Max would have an easier time wrapping his head around the concept and all since he’s been dealing with crazy alien stuff for decades at this point, but it would still come as shock. He was thrown into the Null Void for a few months and by the time he comes back, he finds out he’s a great grandfather lmao. And obviously, Max wouldn’t be upset that he wasn’t told immediately. Ben really didn’t have a chance until after he returned from the Null Void.

Anyway, on to the actual question! Let’s start with Sandra and Carl. They’d definitely be shell-shocked by the news. I’m sure neither expected grandkids for a hot minute considering how much of a trainwreck Ben’s love life is. Confusion is also a definite. “How is my teenage son a mother to 14 moth children?” I also really think Sandra would freak a bit. Like, she’d jump to conclusions based on human culture (ie she’d think he knocked some random alien chick up) and just be caught between all sorts of emotions. After the shock and an explanation, they would accept the Little Chills without hesitation. Sandra especially would love them, tho I think she’d be a bit hurt that she didn’t learn about them for so long. Carl doesn’t like it when Ben keeps secrets, but I think he’d be more forgiving this time since he could understand why he’d be hesitant to tell them. They’d both understand that the only reason Gwen and Kevin knew before them was bc they were there for the incident, and I think in the end they’d make a deal with Ben for him to NOT keep anymore alien secrets, even if they are really strange by Earth standards.

Next, Natalie and Frank. Natalie is so done with this weird alien shit LMAO. She doesn’t even bother asking, she just accepts the reality that there are 14 aliens in the family now. Frank is more shocked than his wife by the news, but he comes to understand the situation once the explanation is given. Ken would probably be the most lost on it since he was only recently introduced to extraterrestrial stuff. I think he’d be the one to sort of freak instead of just sitting there utterly dumbfounded. I don’t think any of them would be against the Little Chills. Natalie probably wouldn’t be ecstatic that her family tree is even weirder now. I don’t think they’d really care that they weren’t told for so long. Actually, Ken probably would since it sounds like he was at least sorta close to the two cousins. But at the same time, he’d probably understand since he was away at college and it was alien stuff, something he’s not really involved in.

I didn't read book actually so i want to know that what actually happened in pom scene..... Really i want to know in details like what special moments were between conrad and belly happened there in the book

So prom was super messy in the books and it made my heart really feel for both of them. Basically from the start of her talking about prom, Conrad was acting weird about it and clearly didn't really want to go but didn't want to say that to Belly. She convinced him to go with her anyway and he was supposed to spend the night at her house and everything. So then on the day of prom he gets there and he forgot the corsage, was obviously withdrawn and not in the moment with her and just didn't seem happy to be there, he's stiff and awkward and kinda sad for the pictures and then at the actual prom not really wanting to be there or dance with her. She does convince him to dance with her but it's not the magical, beautiful, perfect prom moment she thought it would be. Then he asks if she wants to go somewhere they can be alone and talk and Belly assumes he wants to break up with her. So they go out to the parking lot and have a kind-of argument. It's obvious he really does want to talk to her and have an open honest conversation and explain what's going on with him, but Belly jumps to conclusions and flips out on him and Conrad doesn't say much and she does most of the talking and then walks away from him and then he drives away. Yes, he could have been better, but his mother was literally dying and I think he felt like he needed to be with her, taking care of her. And he couldn't be happy and having fun and present with Belly while he was thinking about his mom dying.

I 100000% recommend you read the books so you can read it as it was written and see how everything went down for yourself. Also you're missing out on sooo many cute, sweet, and special Conrad and Belly moments in the 2nd and 3rd books.

*SPOILERS AHEAD. CONTINUE READING AT YOUR OWN RISK.* Putting my analysis/thoughts below the line so anyone who just wants to know what happened at prom can read that without having the entire rest of the series ruined for them.

I have so many thoughts about the prom thing...like it could have been this beautiful, sweet moment but Jenny Han woke up that day and chose violence. But I digress. The most important thing that I think people forget about the prom thing is that Susannah was literally about to die when they were going to prom. Based on the book timeline, prom was in late April and Susannah died in early May. Susannah died literally maybe 3 weeks at most after prom. Belly even acknowledges that when she found out that Susannah was never going to get better, she tried to call Conrad but he didn't answer. I think from what we know about Conrad and how perceptive he is, it's safe to say he knew at prom that Susannah was going to die. He probably was terrified she was going to die any moment and was afraid to be away from her. And on top of that, everyone knew Susannah was sooo happy Conrad and Belly were together. And Laurel and everyone else made a big deal about Conrad and Belly being together for Susannah's benefit, bc it made her happy and gave her something to live for if that makes sense. So I truly believe Conrad didn't intentionally mean to ruin Belly's prom night. I think he didn't want to go originally because he knew he'd probably ruin her night and he was just too sad, but he didn't know how to tell her that without hurting her, and then he realized how much it would mean to Belly (and Susannah at the same time) so he tried to go despite everything. He didn't want her to ever feel like or think he was only with her or doing things because his mom wanted him to. And I think he realized everything with his mom was just too much for him to handle emotionally and so he couldn't be the man he wanted to be for her. Which is what I think he was going to explain to her, bc when she starts jumping to conclusions and asks if she did something wrong he says "it's not you. it has nothing to do with you" and when she walks away he does tell her to stop and "don't leave it like this" but she's already pissed at him and walking away, so I think he just decided it was better for them to just be broken up then keep hurting her. Everyone always faults Conrad for the prom fiasco like he's a villain but honestly Belly could have been better there too. The first time I read the book I remember cringing and thinking Conrad was such an asshole but after all my rereads I think he was just misunderstood and didn't know how to tell her what was going on with him and how he was feeling. I get that she was really excited about prom and had dreamed about for a long time and built up this idea of how perfect it would be, but Belly kinda makes me cringe at prom because she never even pauses for one second to consider what he's going through with his mom being so sick. I guess she didn't realize how bad Susannah was until after prom but I think she shouldn't have been so hard on Conrad. His grief and pain isn't an excuse to be a jerk, yes (although I didn't think he was that much of a jerk and I feel like no one would have blamed him or Jeremiah for acting worse than that). It's not his fault that he's never been good at dealing with his emotions on a good day but especially not while trying to navigate his grief and at the same time while not knowing how to talk to anyone about how he's feeling. As hard of a time as he had coping with her being sick during the summer I don't understand why no one, especially Belly gave him a little more support/cut him some slack when Susannah was so much sicker.

getting really tired of when ppl who initially read me as a cis dude start to think they've actually clocked me as a trans or intersex woman and have been using the wrong pronouns for me, and instead of just getting awkward/scared (which is what I was used to when this happened up until a few years ago), they fall over backwards trying to prove they're a good ally, maybe even say sorry for thinking i was a man and that they 'didn't know', hyperfocus on complimenting my beard (w an undercurrent of wow I'm so brave to grow that out), and very overtly sidestep and backpedal if they start accidentally using he/him again.

it's not even the constant, insistent she/her use that bugs me (haven't given a shit for years), it's the rigid assumption that they've figured out the right answer™️, were being actively rude to me when they met me on their level as a fellow man (instead of just jumping to a common but potentially inaccurate conclusion), and then that they need to show how openminded they think they are by putting me on a pedestal and praising me for shit they wouldn't have cared about either way if they didn't think I was taking estrogen.

while obviously i love not being treated like a time bomb bc of a stranger's misconceptions about my identity (i'm used to that one for like a whole laundry list of reasons), the kid gloves treatment is sooo much more draining than outright distrust (and leads to way longer conversations!) and it still makes me feel like it's not necessarily safe, in the body i inhabit, to dress and act the way i tend to dress and act. plus it's kinda cringe to watch, and it just sucks, especially knowing the ppl who do this presumably treat any transfemmes or intersex women in their lives the same way, instead of like, being normal to 'em and paying attention to who they actually are.

anw to describe more in details about my last post, so I can kinda remember this significant-ish moment. here's what happened:

so drama class, we we're partnered up with ppl of different body types, weird way to say don't partner up with the same sex.

So I ended up partnering up with this one guy, strong than me and I think works out a bit.

The rules were for this activity, was that we could only have 2 feet on the ground as a group. And hands counted as feet. And to do a lot of movement/actions/steps(?) with the other person.

So we started out holding our hands and balancing on 1 foot each and alternating between them. This was getting to repetitive, so I start laughing and giggling from the awkwardness and absurdity of this activity (I laugh when things don't feel comfortable for me just to make it feel a bit better). So at one point we're just holding hands balancing on 1 foot watching the other groups. At this point I'm giggling and laughing pretty easily at everything we do. I go into a squat and suggest that he try and sit on my shoulders, holding on to his wrists; he denies. He suggests giving me a piggyback, and he is significantly taller than me and still balancing on 1 foot. So worrying about his foot I suggests that he puts it down so I can jump, but he denies that and I jump on his back. A little lower on his back than expected but not that uncomfortable, I try to adjust myself by doing that thing where the person carrying u jumps and adjust their hold, on my own. But that doesn't really work. So I just I wrap my arms around his neck and ask if I'm too heavy. Which he responds "uhhh it's not so bad.", so good enough for me tbh bc I knew he's def strong and worked out a bit but also I think he told me it wasn't as consistent as b4. BUT LIKE RIGHT AFTER THAT, THE MAN STARTS FUCKING RUNNING LAPS. Well like running in a small oval on a part of the stage we're on, so during this I'm just full on laughing at this point cuz like what???? he didn't tell me he was gonna do this, he just took off. So I'm laughing pretty loudly saying his name and like "what r we doing??". Couldn't really tell what were the other groups doing but I definitely felt/saw a few of them staring at us from the side. Then we come to a stop and go back to holding hands, at this point hold our wrists and balancing on 1 foot each. Then he asks to spin me, which I do while laughing/giggling. We were trying to come up with some way to use our hands but the time for activity ended.

In conclusion, always being worried about being too heavy for others and then getting picked up and asking if I am and him responding not really ish and fucking proving it(??) by running; made me feel funny. In a good way

Unless We Wanna Jump Against All Odds🤯

I always love his presence. He is always a good friend with lots of random thoughts and deep talks. Many people thought we look cute together.

One day, he asked me out. I took it as a friendly invitation. It's been a while since my last time strolling around Jakarta.

I never thought that it would be full of fun and memorable: we visited a thrifting market, bought the famous local noodle, ate ragusa, watched KKN, took many pics, ran to catch the train, being lost each other. One thing that made me confused: he loved to put his arms around me and then hold my hand. Well, that could be a gesture of friendliness.

But it was not the last time we spent time together. He asked me out again and again. He texted me. All things that made me have these questions: is it safe enough to like him? Does he have a feeling on me?

I realized I started adoring his tall figure, that smile, that deep stare, that big hands, that small acts that showed he care, that smell, the way he dress up, that words, that attitude towards people; I have many reasons to like him. And time went so fast when I was with him. But isn't it too soon?

We had dinner with my senior, 3 of us near the office. My weird senior asked me if theres someone that i look up to at the office rn. I said... maybe. Cz I still figure out the feeling and I don't wanna jump to a conclusion too soon, I said. He asked me again, does he come from the same division? I refused to answer that. And in the corner, I saw "that guy" lowkey blushing, I knew he was also curious.

On our way home, he asked me implicitly "Siapa sih Jay?" But I didn't mention it. Fool you, it's you, man.

Last night he came here. We did grocery shopping together and yeah I took him to AEON and he said it was his first time. I liked it when we talked about some great books at Periplus and Gramedia. I never met a guy who loves reading like him.

He brought all my stuff, walking to my kos--I was pretty sure it was heavy but he did it anyway. And he didn't complain.

We cooked together. Wow, it was my first time too. We danced in the kitchen to many cool songs. I loved to see him confuse when I asked him to peel the shrimp. But he was excited. Me too.

Accidentally, I cut my finger. He suddenly rushed to the nearest warung, bought betadine and hansaplast. I said, no it's fine, just a regular cut, no need to put hansaplast on. But he did it. He said, he didnt want to see me have a cut again since my toe nail was blooded bcs of the trolley that he rode at the supermarket before. He had no idea that his act made me blushed afterwards.

The food was done. It was my first time cooking in my magic jar. And we did it. It was a great sapo tahu.

We watched horror together. It was The Medium. He hold my hands, just like the last time we watched movie together.

And suddenly.. we jumped to a super awkward and deep conversation. I asked him whether he likes me or not. So yeah, we like each other, even though it wasn't that "strong" but we are at the same page.

I asked his intention towards me. For this, we also have the same answer: we can't be together. We always know we're very different. He's a Catholic and I am a moslem. Just like water and oil. We knew it very well. So that is why we can't move into more seriuos step.

I understand it. The moment he started taking my attention, I always know this is just a temporary bliss. Unless we wanna jump against all odds. Besides, we both agreed that we are still not ready yet to be in a relationship in general. We just wanna have fun.

Suddenly the air changed. That night, before he went home, everything went so awkward. I thought: oh this is how it feels like confessing our feelings. It was finally clear and determined how we act afterwards, yet it was veryyy awkward. Like u feel hesitate to be close, just like a couple minutes ago.

근데, I know it was normal. We know that phase is what we should pass, and that's fine. Despite all the awkwardness, I really enjoyed that day tho. Besides, I knew that he likes me too.

There’s a girl with a crush on the blonde guy, makes him a love potion, he drinks it right as the guy with black hair trips and immediately grabs the blonde’s attention. And the love potion is like “whoever meets your gaze first” type thing and the black haired guy is horrified he just interrupted blondie who is The Most Popular guy in school pretty much and they just stare for a second and then the blonde guy acts head over heel for him. And the girl confronts the black haired guy for RUINING HER LIFE and so he’s just “oh that explains a lot”. And then tries to avoid the blonde guy and fails miserably.

Also the black haired guy is cursed and unless he lifts it he’s going to die at 18 so he’s already depressed and withdrawn and then he gets this weird guy in love with him on accident and he likes the attention but knows it won’t last and he’s not worth it.

Little hc dump about Ei’s dad/parents:

Takehiro Kirishima && Esperanza de la Torre; their Quirks are Geokinesis & Silky Shark respectively.

Current ages ( with Ei being 16 ) are 46 & 36 respectively.

Takehiro works in construction, though he had wanted to be a Pro hero growing up. He even trained up his Quirk to try out for several hero schools, though he’d ended up having to give up on it in order to focus on providing for his family. He still trained up his Quirk even after getting married, because it was a comfort for him. That and he wanted to be able to protect them and others if needed. He’d recently applied for a Quirk work license to better do his job, though it’s a bit of a moot point now considering the current times.

Esperanza took up work as a waitress after having gone to Japan to study Quirk science, though her family had wanted her to go into entertainment ( acting, singing and modelling ) like her mother. She kept it up during her pregnancy, quitting for a couple years, then going right back to it years later when Eijirou was able to take care of himself, before being promoted manager. She’s currently looking into getting back into her studies and what to specialize in particular.

They met when Esperanza was 18/Takehiro 28. She had been with a few friends and coming back from a shopping trip. Takehiro had been heading for drinks with his work buddies. A villain attack gave them their chance meeting, with Takehiro having used his Quirk to save Esperanza from rubble. 

She’d been smitten on first sight, especially when he’d gotten so concerned over her and smiled when she’d stammered out she was alright. She ended up thinking about him days after, so she figured it had to be love. 

So clearly the normal thing to do here was pursue the guy, right? And she did so whole-heartedly, especially after being encouraged by some uni friends. She brought him food, drinks, took him out for coffee on the odd occasion they both had a free day ( since she’d taken the time to figure out his daily schedule ), and made every effort to worm her way into his heart all while successfully juggling her class schedule and other friendships.  

Takehiro hadn’t realized at first, he’d thought she just wanted to thank him for saving her. Then he kept humoring her because he didn’t want to refuse her kindness ( in terms of her gifts ), and because he thought it was a lot nicer to spend some time with someone who wasn’t a coworker ( especially since it got him out of going to mixers and even relaxed him lots. That, and he’d initially assumed she was older than she was, so he hadn’t thought to establish boundaries ). When he belatedly realized it was a full-blown crush, he had it in mind to keep things between them as a friendship. Because while he genuinely liked her company, he had definitely been a bit put off by the age difference between them when he learned of it.

That lasted about a couple months. Because she’d been so disheartened by his rejection and withdrew from him a little then altogether, having not known how to actually handle it. In turn, he ended up missing having her around when she did. And really did not like her being upset, with him or for whatever reason. So he looked for her and asked her out with a grand gesture, hoping it would make her happy and would help things get back to normal for them.

It worked.

Neither had much relationship experience before ( Takehiro had, though he’d also been too much of a workaholic to successfully keep it and Esperanza grew up pretty sheltered ), so it hadn’t been until months later that they actually started to act like a couple. And that had been because friends had to prompt them to actually do so. They had only stuck to doing everything they had before, even with a few more–and actually calling them–dates. It just felt that natural to keep to it. They hadn’t even considered kissing and hugging at the start, sharing their first actual embrace on her nineteenth birthday, and the first kiss on Christmas. They consummated the relationship on Valentine’s Day because they’d had an argument weeks earlier and they figured maybe that would help solve things.

It hadn’t. Not entirely.

On the plus they got a kid out of it. Which gave them incentive to stay together, even when Esperanza had offered to break things off and take care of the kid herself so as to not ‘inconvenience’ him.

Takehiro took up more work hours to prepare for the kid, plus buying a bigger house for them all to live in. Esperanza had money saved up her waitressing job to help with, and ended up dropping out of uni after his birth. It took them a month after Eijirou’s birth to realize they should probably get married. When they could, they were wed on Christmas.

Esperanza’s family had not been happy she genuinely wanted to get married to a Japanese man ( more so, one ten years her senior ), so she ended up cutting herself off from the family before they could do it first. Luckily for her, Takehiro’s mother had quite taken to her and was very happy to hear of their union and support them.

Things were okay for the most part, with both being quite happy with their baby boy.

Except for the postpartum depression.

Because of Takehiro’s increase in work, Esperanza ended up dealing with it without him and occasionally helped by the neighbor’s wife ( Ei’s childhood friend Tomo’s mother ). Which of course wound up making her feel envious that even with the other’s husband’s work, her husband still spent plenty of time with her. Which did not help her marriage at all, because from that point on, she kept comparing how different they were and why that was, if maybe they were doing something wrong or she was the problem, etc.

Not to mention both Esperanza and Takehiro were wholly unprepared to handle a child. Takehiro straight up lost ten-month-old Eijirou when he’d watched him during a free day, eventually finding him happily crawling halfway down the neighborhood. Esperanza could never handle his crying and fussing, yelling him to quiet down if not otherwise accidentally making him cry more in her attempts to soothe him and resulting frustration.

They got more practice had handling him up until his Quirk manifesting happened. Then it became a struggle of trying to stop him from touching anything and anyone to minimize damage. Which prompted Eijirou to be quite conscious of his Quirk, particularly when he’d almost cut the person who would his best and only friend growing up, and then a boy he’d accidentally hurt because some other kids in kindergarten got too touchy with him during a game even when he insisted they stop and he’d swung his hands to stave them off. Which became part of why he didn’t have many friends growing up.

Who got to deal with it all? Esperanza. Who was admittedly not the most patient person, even if she tried her best to make the boy happy and understand him. Takehiro knew that part of her well, which was partly why he was happy to take up more hours away from the house. Especially since they began to bicker more and more as Eijirou grew up.

It always varied–Takehiro not being home enough and accused of purposefully avoiding them, why Eijirou choosing to spend more time at his friend’s house over his own home, if he was too independent or not enough, Esperanza’s lack of emotional openness, how stifling and obstinate she could be, the fact that Takehiro was spending too much money for some reason aside sending money to his mother, why he wouldn’t let Esperanza work, etc.

The latter eased up when Eijirou took up cooking, eventually being put in charge of making his parents lunches. Which he did so gladly in addition to the house chores because he really liked making his parents happy and helping them. Esperanza was able to work again with him taking that off her shoulders.

Ei especially adored doing everything for his mother, since she was around him more and as such she became the parent he was most attached to. Even if there were times things got tense between them too, especially when their temperaments clashed. Even still, he always sought her approval every chance he could and any way he could learn something to impress her or take care of so she didn’t have to worry. Especially since doing so usually left her in a better mood enough to shower him with affection. Because she tended to leave him to his own devices, especially the older he got, he would get increasingly creative in ways to get her attention, whether that meant deliberately pissing her off in order to make her look at him or asking about something that made her happy to take time to talk to/teach him. How each worked out always depended on the kind of work day she’d had, so he could never pinpoint what worked best. 

 He scarcely spoke to his father even when the man wasn’t at work, since he was usually asleep or out with friends, or chose to spend time with his wife when he could ( which Ei himself even prompted bc he saw how happy it made her, plus thinking how energetic he could be was really bothersome for his tired father, judging by the couple times he got the guy to play with him ). Even if Eijirou really wanted to spend time with his father and make the guy proud of him, too. Maybe more so than his mother sometimes, considering Takehiro’s praises and affections came to him a lot less than Esperanza’s did. It was a rare time when Ei would actually get one-on-one time with the man, and even then, it was typically napping or eating together in awkward silence. As such, Ei only ever saw the best of him or hardly anything at all, whereas he had more chances to see his mother’s flaws and the good combined.

Regardless of the differences, the kid did everything he could to make both his parents as happy as possible as much as he could. And it helped ease things some.

It didn’t mean the fighting stopped. Especially when Eijirou was elsewhere, like his friend’s house or off exploring with him, and couldn’t hear it all happen.

A particularly nasty fight between them when Eiji was 10 ended up with Takehiro having an affair. Esperanza found out some time later, though, in spite of the hurt she’d felt, said nothing, thinking that she would just have to bear with it for Eijirou’s sake. The boy needed a father, right? If she turned a blind eye, everything would be okay.

She did eventually break it to Takehiro that she knew during another fight later on, but they hadn’t chosen to divorce even still because they thought they could work through it for the sake of Eijirou. They thought with that, the air had been cleared and could patch things up. Through that time things did improve some between them and it seemed everything would turn out alright. 

Only for them to divorce a year later when Eiji was 13. It was a culmination of Takehiro’s mother dying, Esperanza’s grudge and accidental insensitivity, and Takehiro revealing that he’d had a child with the other woman ( not to mention had rather spitefully compared her and Esperanza ) during the resulting fight that really ended it.

Because Esperanza had been scared of losing Eijirou too, thinking he would prefer staying with his father ( she’d been so sure he would, considering they bickered a lot too, that she was so sure he hated her, but really, he still would have chosen her in a heartbeat ), she’d convinced Takehiro to leave him to her, even when he’d wanted to take the boy with him and make up for the lost time together ( read: now that the more difficult times in managing him were over or at least he thought so ).

Esperanza made sure to hit Takehiro right where it’d hurt, citing that he’d have to reveal the affair to Eijirou and the kid would NEVER forgive that. That Eijirou would NEVER feel happy with the man who scarcely bothered to stick around for him over someone who actually KNEW him, much less replaced with some strange woman who definitely didn’t. Did Takehiro even remember what he was allergic to? Bet he didn’t know it was penicillin. Did he even know his own son’s favorite foods or the best way to make him smile after a shitty day? He lamentably didn’t. He couldn’t even remember the day Eijirou manifested his Quirk or did his first errand. He sure as hell didn’t know his son was afraid of thunder and large dogs, that cats and strangers made him so nervous.

In the end, Takehiro couldn’t help but agree to it, moreover to leave the house to them and keep direct contact only if Eijirou did. Which he didn’t because Esperanza deliberately cut the means to, by giving Eijirou the incorrect phone number and thus making sure he could never contact his father. Which, in addition to outright never telling him she divorced his father ( as a result of her fears of Ei leaving her kept prompting her to ), ended up making for a point of contention between the mother and son.

Takehiro did attempt to send money to help support Eijirou and the house payments a couple times, but Esperanza always rejected it, saying she didn’t need anything from him save the house he left them with. She even took up working more hours so she wouldn’t need his help ( eventually Eijirou himself took up a job to help her too ).

Esperanza did reconcile with her family once Takehiro was out of the picture, though she was too prideful to ask them for help even still. Though they choose to give her some aid in the form of properly paying off the house for her.

Takehiro in the meantime focused on his work and the new family, learning from prior experience to properly balance work and his new wife and daughter. Even with the agreement he’d made with Esperanza, he did try to keep tabs on his son. He couldn’t do so initially, but since the boy had chosen to go to UA and subsequently gotten more into the public eye ( having noticing his son’s name as one of the people involved in the USJ incident ), the man did manage to keep up with his son’s achievements. He watched the Sports Festival and even got to see Eijirou’s debut live.

He was rather proud to learn that his son ended up going for the hero career ( compared to Esperanza who constantly worried about if Eijirou would be okay, that it was too dangerous ). Takehiro ended up gushing about him often to his daughter. While never explicitly stating it was because Red Riot was his son ( he didn’t know how she would take it after all, and thinking her too young to know just yet ), more because his Quirk resembled his daughter’s in defensive capabilities and he wanted her to have a role model like him.

His new wife Mihiro had no problems with it, nor did she hold any ill will towards Takehiro’s first family. If anything she felt guilty about the situation they gone through.

Takehiro is always tempted to reach out to Eijirou, making it seem like an accident so Esperanza wouldn’t be able to complain. The problem was how he would explain everything or if the kid would even WANT to see him. He hadn’t the slightest idea how to do that. And so he never did end up doing so.

-he was actually insulted that you left with sanji so ichiji was fairly angry at you

-he saw you walking with sanji when they all were going to have dinner and his face immediately hardened while he watched you walk. he had to hide his true ‘feelings’ obviously 

-but afterwards he’ll offer to show you your room and he leads you there throwing a mean comment about you coming back 

-he’s totally passive aggressive towards you and he makes a few comments about you and sanji being so close

-it honestly just seems like he’s being an asshole and teasing his brother about a girl but really it’s just another way for him to get out his anger at the both of you

-you can catch him staring at you from time to time and he’ll sometimes be walking down the hallway when you come out of your room, because he was wondering if he should go talk to you or not

-part of him wants to just talk with you and kiss you but another part wants to yell at you for being such a bitch

-there are times he’ll snap at you harshly and then he ends up in an angry staring contest with sanji who defended you 

-eventually you’ll ask why he’s being so rude to you and he’ll make what he thinks is an insult but it basically explains that ichiji is angry at you for all you did with sanji 

-the moment he heard of the plan and their approaching reunion with sanji, he thought of you. he’s really angry at you for leaving. he jumped to the conclusion you and sanji are dating 

-the deep hatred for sanji seemed to increase tenfold when he imagines him strolling in with you on his arm and tongue fucking each others’ mouths in front of him; the whole scenario of having to see and hear about the two of you together evokes a feeling he didn’t know he had, besides the burning fury he also feels a squeezing around his heart and almost fearful sensation

-as the day approaches niji tries to put on a facade that he’s only interested in sanji

-when he sees you walking down the carpet after sanji, he steps right in front of you and lowers his head so that your noses are almost touching, his face is set in a scowl

-”look whos back” his voice is full of disgust and bubbling rage but he only says that, after a minute of very awkward and overwhelmingly tense silence sanji pulls you away which only makes niji growl in anger

-the whole time they ate he was staring you down with a deep frown and his arms crossed

-sanji didn’t want you sleeping alone because.. he’s sanji.. but also because he doesn’t trust any of his brothers. so sanji had you sleep in his room and niji was absolutely outraged. he tried to take it out on sanji but that didn’t do anything

-niji didn’t really talk to you until he found you sitting out on one of the castles balconies where you used to sit together as kids

-he went and sat down beside you and just bluntly insulted you and sanji for a few minutes, when you got up to leave he grabbed you and pulled you back down 

-really the whole situation is just filled with insults and anger towards sanji and you, more towards sanji. but also niji tries to talk to you when you’re not with sanji 

-so he didn’t actually comprehend that having sanji back would mean having you back, he wasn’t completely sure if you were with sanji until one of the soldiers said you were and then yonji was super excited

-but then he was pissed because that meant you stayed with sanji 

-okay so that fight between him and sanji had a touch of his harbored rage and jealousy from you leaving for sanji 😌

-honestly yonji is the nicest during this, or as nice as he can be

-after he gets fixed up from the fight he sees you come in with sanji when they’re going to eat dinner, and he gets those heart eyes because you are just even more gorgeous 

-he’s not gonna be nice nice

-he’ll throw some teasing insults at sanji and you but he gets pissed when niji and/or ichiji say something about you and sanji being together 

-he actually avoids you for the most part because he’s angry at you and he sticks to beating sanji and insulting him

-he will make some mean comments about you and sanji’s relationship to see how you actually feel about him

-when you’re around, yonji will purposely start a fight with sanji be it verbal or physical 

-you get into an argument about why you left and about you and sanji and yonji ends up admitting that he still feels something (he doesn’t know what it is) for you that he felt when you were both younger

-and he says something that lets you know he’s mad at you for leaving him for sanji

So I have this little headcanon (well,,,, not really a headcanon but more of a nice-to-think-about headcanon because it would never happen but it’s- like the title- nice to think about so im sharing it here) in which they’re all going to the beach in this sorta mini-van that bruce rented. And take in mind that this is the wayne family, but at the same time most people that wear a bat on their chest,,,, so they had to whack some things up.

BUT ANYWAYS, it was Bruce’s dumbass idea to buy a van and call it a road-trip, and honestly? no one was ready. That usually happens with big families, even with one that has most kids over 18. And how everyone was on board with the idea doesn’t matter because this is my headcanon and they are all now squished in a minivan and there are bags in the back and towels in the seats and there’s a cooler on top because it didn’t fit. 

and just for reference the van was like SMALL. it was sort of like the school buses but way smaller, so they’re like buses in which there are three seats in front, driver, and then like two others (the middle one doesn’t really count because that’s where you put waterbottles and stuff). There’s a sort of space in the back, where you usually put the backpacks (these are like elementary school buses and every single kid has those backpacks with wheels and it’s a pain in the ass-) and then there is another set of four seats (that’s more like a sofa but no armrest- god please have patience there is literally not a single image on google im trying to be specific- and those are facing the back of the bus (so the backrest (?) is facing the place with the bags).

THEN we have another seat that’s close to this one but facing the opposite way but it’s only THREE seats so there’s a space for the next row of three seats and then there’s the back one that’s four again.

In conclusion, you can fit 18-ish people, driver counted. 

and continuing with my story, it’s Bruce driving, Alfred as shotgun, a water-bottle or two in the middle, the bags in their respective places... and then... 

disaster. 

Babs is the only one sitting in the four-seat closer to the bags, harper is in the three-seat, Dick is there as well. 

and then there’s the rest. Steph, Cass, Duke, Jason, Tim, Damian, they’re all screaming in the back and they’re throwing towels around and there’s an “OW! THAT WAS MY HAIR YOU DICKHEAD!” and a “THAT’S MINE!” and so many other things because. the back of the bus, it’s cURSED. And Bruce is just driving with a strained smile because he wants so badly to turn around and throw a waterbottle at each of their heads to get them to shut up (of course, it wouldn’t work because not even god can calm down the back of the bus)

Tim and Jason somehow get into this argument of how tim ‘has no friends’ and Tim shoots back that in fact he DOES, that he’s calling them right this instant. And bruce doesn’t even have a chance to yell at them, because now there’s a speedster and a cloned kryptonian right beside the moving minivan and Bruce is lowkey freaking out because none of them (the ones in the van and the ones out) are wearing their superhero costumes, and then Tim is just with his hands pressed on the window and he’s like practically banging the glass and waving and they can’t hear him but he’s like “HEY! HEY HYE HEY YOU GUYS MADE IT!!!” and then dick is just telling them to cut it out and slow down because you know, identities, and Steph is like HOLY SHIT THEY DID MAKE IT and Damian is just sitting upside down with his legs in the backrest off the seat and Duke is in the same position, making fun of Damian because his feet don’t reach. 

Kon and Bart seem to get the hint because they slow down, but not before bart has literally jumped towards the MOVING VAN and vibrated through (i’m like 99% sure he is able to do that so-) and then he literally landed on Tim (tim actually softened his fall, because Tim’s back literally made a ~crack~ sound by hitting somebody’s knee) and stood up real quick and then started waving and laughing at kon, who was now running normal-speed beside the van. 

And then bruce went FASTER and kon was like WHAT THE HECK OLD MAN and he can’t use his powers so he’s literally running behind the van and bart is laughing his ass off and then tim is like “BRUCE STOP THE VAN!” and then Bart is already calling cassie and telling her what happened and you can hear cassie laughing from over the phone and then Tim is just yelling at bruce in the background. Bruce eventually DOES stop, and Tim opens the door for him and Kon crawls in and Bart’s still laughing, and he’s practically leaning onto Dick and Harper, and they’re squished together and bart’s just laughing on the phone while Kon sits on the really far end of the opposite seat (practically on the door) so he’s the furthest from babs as possible because he’s actually terrified of her. Tim is just sorta awkward because he now realizes that he was a bit TOO excited to see kon, and then the back of the bus/van is staring at them and like what the hell and then Tim goes “who doesn’t have friends, huh?”, and Jason goes ‘pfft’ and he calls roy but he’s spending time with lian; he calls artemis and she goes, “but wasn’t this a family trip? what do you need me for?”, SO jaosn calls bizarro and then he barely answers the phone when bizarro goes “RED HER SAID NO. BYE” so Jason slumps and it’s quiet for a second when steph goes “is that GUM IN MY HAIR”. And then jason laughs and its chaos all over again. (i might make a ‘things that were heard from the back of the road trip bus post bc i have so many ideas oh my god)

and then they are at the beach, the bus barely stops and there’s a few bags thrown out the window, and people yelling at Kon to open the door, and Kon not being able to work under pressure so tim opens it and everyone’s pushing each other and Steph has an uneven strand of hair, because Damian went to ‘extreme measures’ and cut it so now steph’s hair is uneven and they were going to keep cutting it “to make it even” but then Alfred was like “you’re all going to clean the van afterwards so think carefully” and then nobody did anything and there’s literally a ziploc bag with steph’s strand of hair (damian didn’t even cut to where the gum was, he cut even FURTHER but yes, the gum is in the bag). 

As I was saying, they get out of the van, and the bags are out and Bruce has NO IDEA what to do. none. It’s alfred that rents a tent and then Damian’s chasing duke into a random restaurant’s changeroom and showers and then cass is dragging harper that’s dragging steph that’s dragging jason and tim is getting the bags with Kon and bart and bart realizes that he doesn’t  have a swimsuit and then he stops walking and Kon seems to realize too and it’s like OH MAN and they can’t run back (because no powers, rule set by bruce when two super-powered bros came in the bus) and They’ recarrying the bags to this tent (do you guys know what im talking about? i feel like we’re imagining completely different things- it’s this but much more people and there’s a bunch of people selling stuff like sunglasses and doign hair, piercings, tattoos even - for the tattoos thing it’s just promo for an actual shop they don’t tattoo you in the actual beach - ) and It’s literally Kon, tim and bart carrying the bags (which they CAN carry between the three, it’s not like they packed up half the manor) and then a minute later or so Steph is sprinting towards Tim and she’s yelling something Tim can’t understand and then Steph points at her bag (that tim’s carrying) and she screams something like “SAND! HOT!” and then she’s like high-knee-ing/sprinting even faster and Cass is just walking barefoot in the sand, super calm, but she’s got Harper on her back. Damian and Duke are racing towards the shadow (because the sand is cooler there), and next thing you know Jason’s aready in the tent with a coconut. 

And if you haven’t thougth about how the Batfam would be in the beach then let me tell you, you don’t have enough spare time because i know for a FAT FACT that: 

It was Jason that insisted on Bruce buying sand toys (a whole bag, i swear)

Damian tried coconut water, didn’t like it all that much (altho he loves the inside- idk what it’s called but it’s edible i swear)

Bruce put on an excessive amount of sunscreen

Duke has swimming trunks with the robin logo just to piss damian off (also Damian has matching ones but with the batman one)

Steph, Cass and Harper rented a banana boat (here’s a picture) and they dragged Jason and Tim along, just to toss them off in the end 

Jason 1000% got stung by a jellyfish 

Bruce bought like seven friendship bracelets from this guy that made them because they looked deadass cool

bart was pissy because he couldn’t go in the water, so he and Kon sprinted with normal speed (they both had water-proof anklets that sucked their powers, so it was REALLY  a no-powers vacation, courtesy of Bruce, again.)

the only ones in stock were neon, and they settled real quick so now theyre sprinting back and cardying a bag of keychains they thought looked rad as hell and now tim caught up to them and all three are practically skipping towards the water

,,,,they forgot to put sunscreen on.... all of them,,, they forgot....

tim made a sand castle

in teams of two (kon/bart, tim/cass, duke/harper, steph/jason, dick/damian) got on each other shoulders and basically spent five minutes trying to see who would be the last team standing, splashing water everywhere and stuff

first team to go down was Dick and damian, because steph pushed damian and by trying to keep himself on Dick's shoulders, damian accidentally poked dick's eye (sort of CLAWED in so you know what i mean).

second team to go down was steph and jason, because damian doesnt play fair and so he swam down and literally just scratched Jason's ankle, knowing damn well that the jellyfish sting was there. Jaosn shrieked and steph lost her balance. so much for vigilantes at night with stealth and talent, huh.

third team to go down was tim and bart because kon insisted on being on bart’s shoulders and that’s easy peasy because i mean, bart’s not WEAK, but he’s not TALL either and it’s not like Kon weighs a feather and they’re on the deeper side,,,,, you can imagine the rest

Now there’s two teams, and they call it a tie because otherwise someone’s gonna end up injured (altho tim likes to say that he and cass won)

There’s music playing in the background, with really vulgar lyrics that alfred disapproves of, but you know. It’s not his beach.

I can't remember if I sent this to you already but could I request headcanons for aizawa, hizashi and Toshinori finding their s/o that has a chipmunk quirk that makes her fall into hibernation when it's too cold (kinda like tsu) but when the guys find her with her heart rate low and her breathing shallow maybe they freak a little bc she didn't tell them about that part of her quirk yet

So when you first told him about your quirk, you were lowkey embarrassed?

Like, here’s this grown-ass man with a badass quirk who is more than capable of taking down villains and defending himself, and here you are just-

But you know what’s great about this man? He couldn’t give less of a shit about your quirk or anything like that. He strikes me as the type to care more about personality than anything else

concealing your quirk is fairly easy. People probably wouldn’t even know you had one if it wasn’t for the small fluffy ears popping out of the top of your head, and even then you could just cover them with a hat

But that doesn’t mean you don’t experience the effects of your own quirk just because it’s subtle

You have a mutant type quirk, so you experience certain things that actual chipmunks do

Sometimes you won’t even notice that you’re stuffing your cheeks to full capacity with whatever you’re eating before Aizawa has to cut you off and just be like

“y/n. Chew.”

Or when you’re rushing, you’re usually going so fast that Aizawa can barely even see you zooming from room to room

you can also get kinda skittish at times, your ears twitching whenever you hear a noise that sounds weird or out of place, and you’ll just look at Aizawa with wide eyes until he checks out what made a noise that he could barely hear

“y/n, it was just some kids outside.”

“Oh... sorry, Sho.”

he wants to be frustrated, but he knows it’s not your fault. And honestly? He finds you so cute that he can’t really stay mad at you

So he’ll just let out a huff before patting your head lovingly, grazing his fingers over your ears (Which he KNOWS are sensitive, that asshole)

Experiencing long periods of deep sleep is also a thing. You wouldn’t call it hibernation cuz you still have to do normal, everyday things, but there are times during the winter where you’ll sleep for a few days in a row and only get up to go to the bathroom or eat

And since you can’t actually burrow into the floor of your home, you usually make a blanket fort in the corner of your bedroom and stuff all of the pillows and blankets you can in there until it’s nice and warm, ready for you to bury yourself in

and you might’ve left that little part of your quirk out when you moved in together. whoops

So when Shouta comes home and sees the living room couch void of all of its pillows, he’s not expecting to walk into your shared bedroom and see you curled up in a blanket fort

he’s a bit curious at first, just kinda looking at you like “All right, I guess this is normal?”

and he’ll crouch down and kinda examine you for a bit before he eventually wonders if you’re even breathing? You’re burried under blankets, so he can’t really see your chest moving

eventually he’ll check and see that your breathing is abnormally slow and he kinda just... pauses and checks again to make sure he’s not going crazy.

and he wont deny that he kinda freaks out at first, his immediate thought being that he needs to get you out of there, but the second he grabs the blankets to pull them off of you he’s like wait... hold up.

then it all clicks

you’re a mutant with a chipmunk quirk...

safe to say he’s relieved, so he just lets you be and goes about his day. 

When you wake up a few hours later to go to the bathroom, you come out of the bedroom with your clothes practically on backwards, rubbing at your eyes and stumbling past Aizawa like he’s not even there. And when you’re done, it’s right back to sleep you go

“Back to bed?” Aizawa would ask as he watches you with an amused smirk on his face

“Mhm.”

“Okay. Goodnight, y/n”

“Mm’night.

Listen, when he first heard of your quirk, he thought it was the cutest shit ever

so on a particuallry cold day in winter when he has to go to work at the school, he leaves your home while you’re sleeping, only to come home hours later to find you... still sleeping?

You haven’t moved an inch the entire time he’s been gone, so needless to say, he’s a litle concerned.

and when he checks to see if you’re still alive only to discover your heart rate is super slow, he’s A LOT concerned

His brain just goes to the most dramatic thing he can think of, which is that you’re in some weird coma and need to wake up

so rather than, i dont know, gently shaking you awake like a normal person, he grabs you buy your shoulders and starts shaking you violently while shouting your name loud as fuck

“Y/NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN”

“JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!”

you literally wake up so violently, you sit right up and shove him off of you before asking what’s wrong with him, pretty sure you’ve officially gone deaf

He then explains that he thought you were in a coma or something cuz your heartbeat was so slow, and at that point you just roll your eyes because of course he would come up with this ridiculous conclusion

“Hizashi, my quirk is chipmunk and it’s a mutation quirk.”

He doesn’t even get what you’re getting at, just tilting his head in confusion as he squints at you.

“What do chipmunks do in the winter, babe?”

Cue more confused squinting

“Oh my god, they hibernate, you headass.”

it finally clicks and the look on his face makes it seem like he just learned the secret of the universe, and afterwards he’s going on about how cool that is while you just roll your eyes and lay back down to try and go back to sleep, bringing the blanket over your head to try and drown him out

He eventually gets the hint and leaves, but after a while, you kinda feel bad for blowing up on him. He was just concerned and didn’t fully understand your quirk

so letting out a huff, you pull the blanket down and call out his name, to which he immediately runs to you at the sound of, asking you what you need

you just wordlessly lift up the blanket to expose the empty side of the bed, and oh boy, the size of the grin he gets on his face is unmatched

immediately throws off his hero costume so that you can both be comfortable and jumps into bed with you, holding you impossibly close

you fall asleep in a matter of minutes while he just looks at you fondly, hand soothingly rubbing your back.

Just like the other two, he finds you incredibly cute. Like mans is in love, okay?

everytime he sees your little ears twitch, he just gets the strongest urge to touch them, but he never does without your consent becuase he knows how sensitive they are.

“Uh... y/n, do you mind if I... touched your ears?” 

Baby probably feels so awkward asking ugh PLEASE REASSURE HIM

“Oh? Yeah, of course, Toshi. Knock yourself out.”

oooh he’s excited. He’ll be super gentle about it, just lightly grazing them with his fingers before gently rubbing them between his thumb and forefinger

and at that point you’re littlerally melting, practically falling into him because him caressing your ears like this feels absolutely amazing

When he sees how it’s affecting you, he immediately becomes a blushing mess and apologizes, but you just hug him and tell him it’s okay and that you liked it

yeah he definitely rubs your ears whenever you’re feeling stressed or anxious because it’s become a quick way to relax you

only when he does it though. If anyone else randomly touches your ears, you get kinda uncomfortable

Just because they don’t look human doesn’t mean they still weren’t a part of you, dammit

Anyways, one day when you’re waiting for Toshi to come back home, you’ve got yourself wrapped up like a burrito in your blanket, sitting on the couch as you watched tv

it had been snowing all day, but luckily Toshinori had turned up the thermostat before he left, remembering how you mentioned that you’re not a huge fan of the cold

unfortunately for you, the harsh weather had no trouble taking out the power, leaving you in the dark and the cold

it didn’t take long for the cold to start seeping in through the cracks in the windows, and you quickly began to grow tired before you inevitibly passed out on the couch, still wrapped tightly in your blanket

When Toshi gets home and sees you on the couch, his first reaction is “aw, how cute.”

but then when he comes up to you and starts calling out your name to try and wake you up and you just won’t, and then he notices how much your breathing has slowed down, he quickly growns concerened.

He’s not in full panic mode yet, but he’s getting there, and he’s quick to crouch down to your level and grab your shoulders to start shaking you to wake you up

which you do, blinking groggily at him like you weren’t just in full hibernation mode

“Oh... Hey, Toshi,” you mumble, and you reach up to wrap your arms around his neck to pull him down so that you can nuzzle yourself into his warm chest

He’s not able to ask you about what happened to you before you’ve already fallen back asleep, and when the power comes back on a few minutes later, he does a quick google search on chipmunks and mutant quirks before putting two and two together

Now he’s thinking of all the ways he could make you something to burrow into during those especially cold winters

Hi, don’t worry, it’s not a problem at all! This is my first request, and you didn’t specify so I did it as headcanons, hopefully you enjoy it! ... Also, i’ve scrolled down quite a lot to find this ask, luckily you’re still among us, I hope you’re doing well!

Izuru, Nagito and Makoto falsely believing their S/O is cheating.

Izuru Kamukura:

Being the man loved by talent, it wasn’t an easy feat to fool him. Not only he’s extremely smart, but he's constantly aware of everything that surrounds him.

That’s why, the moment you say something slightly suspicious, he’s already thinking all the possibilities about what you are trying to hide.

Of course, he doesn’t want to doubt you, but overtime he’ll get more and more suspicious.

That is, until one day you say something a bit more ambiguous than usual, and due to his lack of tact he addresses the issue quite bluntly.

“S/O, are you cheating on me?” He says it in his usual apathetic self, but it’s quite easy to see that he’s a bit worried, even if his face doesn’t show it at all.

“H-huh? Why would you think that?” His face doesn’t change at all, and he just responds with “You’ve been lying about your whereabouts recently”, while still staring at you.

Turns out, you’ve been planning a surprise party for him, because he somehow forgot the fact his birthday was coming up.

Much to your surprise, the normally cold and distant Izuru embraces you in a tightly, yet calm and gentle manner.

“I see. I apologize S/O, I shouldn’t have doubted you.”

... Still, you won’t let him live that down, it’s a funny inside joke between you both now, even if you’re the only one that’s laughing.

Nagito Komaeda:

Hahaha! He can’t help but laugh! To think that he would find out that you cheated because he felt like taking a walk! It was definitely thanks to his luck!

He’s quite unsure on what to do, though. Should he keep it to himself, or outright tell you that he knows? Whatever he chooses to do, the despair that will come from it will surely give birth to a greater hope afterwards...

He thinks it’s better to decide this later, but just as he turns around to leave...

“Nagito? Are you okay?” The moment he listens to your voice, he tries to run away, but is unable to do so because you’re grabbing him by his arm and won’t let go.

“Let me go, S/O.” He’s a bit weirded out by the sound of his own voice, and then he realizes: he’s crying. 

“You’re better off with them, why would you want trash like me instead?” His voice is shaking and his hands are sweaty, he’s way too nervous and wants to get this over with.

“What are you talking about? They’re just my friend.”

Silence.

Nagito runs off as fast as he can. It would take some time, but hours later he’d meet up with you to clear up the misunderstanding and properly apologize.

He’s really ashamed for jumping to conclusions so quickly, and from now on he’ll fully trust you no matter what.

Makoto Naegi:

Needless to say, but out of these guys he’d be the most calm, that’s just the way he is.

You were just hanging out with some friends, like you normally do.

But one of your friends was maybe a bit friendlier than usual.

Now, Makoto is not the kind of guy to instantly pick a fight with someone over something like jealousy, but...

He was feeling maybe a little angry, and his friends quickly noticed this.

“Tell ‘em, Naegi.” Of course Byakuya would be the one to speak up first.

“Could you please stop that? You’re making this a little awkward.” Makoto isn’t the most intimidating guy, but let’s just say, Kyoko and Byakuya staring daggers at them helped a bit.

Was there ever a popular consensus on Jack's sister's name? Or does she have a name in the book's canon? (i've given up trying to get into the book's storyline, so 😅)

Oh! Yeah I know this!

The short version is: she’s called Mary because William Joyce said so.

The long version is: it literally doesn’t matter because there are so many conflicting theories and pieces of evidence. The movie was made years before the book, Sandman’s book came out in 2013 and Jack’s book came out in 2015. Rotg was released in 2012. Movies take years to conceptualise, plot, cast, act, animate and produce. It’s safe to say that even Joyce wasn’t 100% on what would happen in the book when he worked on the movie, plus it seems there was a massive rewrite for Jack’s book which delayed its release.

But if you’re looking for options:

Mary is the name that Joyce gave her over on Twitter/Instagram. I believe that she’s named after his daughter, who died in 2010 (I believe she was 18 and died of a brain tumour but I haven’t fact checked that so I may be wrong!). Her name was Mary Katherine Joyce and the movie was dedicated to her and the books were inspired by/written for her. Joyce claimed that a version of the script had her named Mary (me thinks we were supposed to see more of her).

It’s possible she was the movie equivalent of Katherine. (Though the books take a more romantic take on Nightlight and Katherine’s relationship.) Katherine’s character may have been split between Jamie and Jack’s sister, with Jamie providing the ‘first believer’ role as well as the apparent easy friendship with Jack and Jack’s sister providing the familial role and Jack’s motivation and/or key to his Guardianship. Either way Katherine was also named after Joyce’s daughter so it’s a strong possibility. (Joyce also has a son named Jack, so having Jack and a variant of Mary Katherine makes sense.)

Jack does have two adoptive siblings in the book. But bear in mind that there is no perfect match, the family he ends up with meets him when he is already an adolescent and I’m like 99% sure they’re Russian and living in Russia or adjacent to Russia. And also the Dad is very much present. Jack has a brother named Jacklovich and a sister named Ana (both younger). They act as his introduction to the nuclear family archetype and along with their parents provide a stable and safe environment for Jack to learn about people and how to live as a human. Because in Jack’s book, before he meets his family, he says that he has become something similar but not exactly human and expresses a desire to be human or normal. Jack does lose them rather quickly as they take up a whopping 30 pages out of 367. That’s less than a chapter (as a single chapter can take up over 100 pages).

Back when Rotg came out a few people noticed that the credits said “Jack’s sister/Pippa” and jumped to the conclusion that her name was Pippa. This was actually referring to two characters voiced by the same actress, Jack’s sister and the Burgess girl with the beanie who hits Cupcake in the snowball fight, tells Jamie that “there’s just no Easter anymore” and is the second to join Jamie in defending the Guardians.

Joyce had also at one point claimed on instagram that Jack’s sister was nicknamed Flee because she ran so fast after Jack fell into the ice. I find this strange and extremely morbid. Very few people use this to my knowledge because he released this knowledge years after the movie was released and the fandom had dwindled considerably. Also it’s... weird and mean.

Joyce also claimed that she was called Vanish on Instagram but then he retconned that and she turned out to be Tooth’s little sister?? Who never appeared in the books??? And also when did Tooth have a sister? We got told her story back in book 3 and there was no mention???? Her parents died and Tooth barely escaped how tf did this sister fit in??

The most popular name was Emma, back in the day. I also used to use this name. There wasn’t much reason to back this name other than it was short and simple to match Jacks name, and it fit the time period. If you’re looking for the most widely accepted name though, this would be it.

I’ve seen several people just pick any name for her because there isn’t really a solid yes or no answer on what her real name is. Jill was rather popular, presumably because Jack and Jill went up the hill. (I don’t like Jill bc my Nana is called Jill but that’s a personal preference.) Margaret or Maggie was the one used in the awesome fic My Stars and Your Valleys.

I think this is also a good opportunity to explain my choice of name. Personally I choose to call her Molly, for no other reason than that my Grandmother is called Mary and it makes me uncomfortable to constantly compare the two in my mind. However, Molly is a nickname for Mary and I find it a cute substitute. Molly and Polly are both nicknames for Mary, and considering that Jack is a nickname for Jackson I think it’s appropriate. So I keep their canonical names as Jackson and Mary but they are called Jack and Molly within the story.

And yes, the books are an absolute mess! The first four are meeehh, kind of okay to follow and kind of samey but the fifth is horrific! I love the concepts it introduced but there was no need to time-skip every other chapter and the plot seemed non existent as most events of relevance happened in the past. I also think that the tone of the book doesn’t match the ending at all. The final battle feels like this grand battle of epic proportions but the rest of the book feels like following a socially awkward highly charismatic kid who sometimes gets into deep shit. A Peter Pan with anxiety if you will. And if I’m being honest the plot is kind of hard to follow throughout the series, I tend to just live in the moment throughout the books because God knows what happened ten pages ago.

Oh thanks! I'll talk about Rook & Sparrow, Morgan the minor god, Vera the queen/goddess, and Eustace the hero.

Rook and Sparrow are basically mouthpieces for the 'order vs. freedom' struggle, with Rook being more comfortable with order & Sparrow being more comfortable with freedom. Naturally, they're both wide open to the negative side of an unbalanced approach. Rook has trouble thinking for himself, & gets judgmental easily. Sparrow has trouble organizing his life, feeling grounded, or fitting in, anywhere. So they don't hate themselves or their chosen 'side,' but there's a lot of "me @ me why are you like this" when they have to navigate these real consequences.

Morgan has a love/hate relationship with their role as the God of the Forgotten. They help people because they sympathize with the logic like, "If there's a god & they can just do whatever and they actually care, why did they let bad things happen to me." They're trying to connect, trying to be responsible, trying to participate as a reasonable member of society. But you can't do that as a 'god' without mortals jumping to conclusions and creating a religion around it. Morgan doesn't dislike their followers or think they're childish or foolish, but Morgan is an atheist and would rather people just take the support & follow their own path. And it's just awkward when people who don't know you create a mythos about you and get strong opinions about who you are and what you like and what you want. I feel like Morgan keeps trying to communicate with their followers & gets mixed results. The reason Morgan stays so hidden is bc they're really introverted & they absolutely need boundaries between having a quiet personal life & fixing peoples' problems. And when they're not the only 'god' out there, & definitely not the strongest, they could invite some danger by threatening to shake things up too much.

Vera has entirely too much on her plate. I still have to decide if there are other kingdoms (kind of need those for plotlines about armies and war). But within her own kingdom, she's basically one of the only ones who is sincerely taking responsibility for anything, and she's becoming the one letting everybody down. Can't protect her kids, can't protect her people, married an asshole to get support she needs to help her people & he's just making everything worse... she really gets a good look at the dark side of trying to take care of people, and that's why she eventually just leaves.

Eustace likes being treated like the hero who's going to save everyone, but the faction that's telling him about the quest seems to run on shallow, inauthentic politics. The kingdom fell, and anybody will tell you that the former king was a terrible person & that it's great that he's gone. But there's a lot of gross stuff about the culture that king created that's still very much alive in this faction's leadership, and they don't seem to see it. There are quite a number of lurking alienated rebels who feel that this isn't what they fought for. So Eustace knows he can win a trophy, he just doesn't know right away what it will be worth.

Buck is buying a gift for Jee-Yun. It's the first thing he is gonna give his niece and he is nervous, he needs something special and unique, but also very Buck, so Jee-Yun can remember him for forever. He doesn't want Chim to hear about it and we know how the fam can't keep a secret, so he decides to go to Twitter and ask. It becomes viral or not, up to you, but one of the answers he gets catches his attention so he answers and the other person answers him back and suddenly they are having conversations about everything and anything, even after he buys the gift for Jee-Yun and meet her for the first time.

Any way, at some point he and the person chatting in internet decide to meet in person. And what a surprise, he/she/they is someone he met when he was going around, and they have story, but the spark is still there

Buck is at his wits end, he’s been struggling to find the perfect gift for his newborn niece but everything he’s looked at has been so cliche so far from teddy bears and blankets to personalized rattles she’ll eventually outgrow. He needs something else- something unique that is the best gift possible- something that she’ll cherish for years to come- and preferably something that Maddie and Chimney won’t throw out.

He’s out of ideas and he’s running out of time so it’s time for drastic measures. Twitter. It’s a last ditch effort really, sending out a tweet begging asking for suggestions on what to get his newborn niece, some of the answers he gets are absurd such as the newspaper on the day that he’ll meet her- what kind of gift is that? Another suggestion is a bath bundle which sounds good at first but then again it’s not very personal to Jee-Yun which is who the gift he’s buying is for, there are more simple things such as blankets and baby clothes but at some point she’ll grow out of those.

Buck feels as though there’s no point in asking anyone, he’ll have to get his favorite niece some crappy gift that won’t be anywhere near perfect and everyone will make fun of him and- 

RaeOfSunshine28: How about a memory book?

Huh. 

That’s actually....the best suggestion he’s heard all day. He likes the tweet and sends a reply to the stranger who has brought him salvation.

FireH0seBuckley: That sounds like a really cool idea, thx! 

He doesn’t think about it for the rest of the day until he’s off work and trying to find a memory book, it’s been awfully difficult for him not to gloat around the station that he’s got the best gift ever planned for Jee-Yun, Where in the world would he ever find that? He’s been searching for awhile when another idea pops into his head.

Buck smiles down at his phone as he and whoever he’s messaging begin to message back and fourth, it’s nice to have someone new to talk to when everyone is busy. This goes on for about a month or so, they message each other frequently and end up texting throughout their days, he feels like it’s become more than a friendship but he doesn’t want to jump to any conclusions. Buck’s been heartbroken enough in the past- but he’s come to the realization that he wants to me this person in....well, person. So he suggests meeting at a local coffee place to finally see each other face to face, it surprises and elates him when they agree.

He’s nervous as he waits at the coffee shop, this is the first time that he’s actually been the one asking someone out, Abby was the one who called him- so was Ali, and Taylor bought him a drink at a bar so making the first move wasn’t in his wheelhouse. The only time he’d usually make the first move was when he was having sex.

The bell to the cafe’s door chimed catching Buck’s attention- speaking of sex- the woman that walked in was someone he recognized, he never caught her name but he certainly remembered the long black hair and stunning green eyes. She doesn’t notice him, at least not right away, instead opening her phone to send a message to someone...at the same time Buck’s phone vibrates in his pocket. 

Realization comes crashing into him as he frantically pulls out his phone- there’s no way- there’s no possible way-

Hey I’m here, not certain if you are yet. Want me to get you anything? :)

Holy shit it is. The twitter user he’s been talking to was someone that he’d had a one night stand with. He realizes that he must have been staring at her because her gaze is suddenly on him, eyeing him suspiciously as though she’s trying to place it. When she finally comes to the realization of where she knows him from her eyes become wide with embarrassment, mouth turning into an ‘Oh.’ shape. He gives her a small smile and a wave as she walks over to him.

“Fancy meeting you here stranger, didn’t think I’d be seeing you again since you ghosted me.” She greets all too casually for someone who- nope not thinking like that.

“Did I really ghost you?” Buck asks confidently a genuine smile working it’s way on to his face.

“Well I would say that waking up to an empty bed with no way to contact you would be a good way of ghosting me.” She hums lightly in response.

“Oh but RaeOfSunshine twenty-eight I would say that I have kept in great contact with you.” Her bemused expression suddenly drops into one of shock as he speaks.

“You’re kidding. You’re fire hose Buckley?”She asks sounding incredulous.

“The one and only. So, it’s nice to meet you Rae.” He officially greets extending his hand.

“It’s Raven actually, my friends call me Rae though and since we’ve been past that I suppose you can call me Rae. It’s nice to meet you as well Buckley.” She says a smile beginning to form.

“Buck, actually. Buckley is my last name and Evan is my first name everyone just calls me Buck.”

So it’s a rough start to their relationship but it certainly feels like a good start none the less.

“So why is your twitter handle fire hose?” 

“Really? You don’t remember?”

“Maybe I’m just asking for a refresher.”
