Main articles: List of Sons of Anarchy characters and List of gangs from Sons of Anarchy Opie kills Stahl to avenge the death of his wife, Donna. While Opie, Chibbs, and the Prospects are all en-route following Stahl. Jax, Clay, Bobby, Tigger, and Happy are hauled away to jail. After the club returns from Ireland and brings home Abel, agent Stahl double crosses Jax and tells the club about the side deal Jax made with her, unaware that Jax and the club had it planned all along knowing Stahl would back out of the deal. Upon learning of her grandson's abduction, Gemma suffers a cardiac arrhythmia and collapses in the Teller-Morrow lot. Father Kellan Ashby's sister, Maureen, contacts Gemma at Ashby's request and tells her Abel is safe in Belfast. The return of A.T.F agent Stahl twists the facts about the murder of Donna, Stahl attempts to make a deal with Jax behind the club's back. She returns to Charming to reunite with her grandson, unaware he has been kidnapped. Gemma struggles when she takes Nate to his new assisted living home, and he pleads to be taken back to his house. Gemma has been hiding in Rogue River, Oregon with Tig at the home of Gemma's father, Nate ( Hal Holbrook), who suffers from dementia. SAMCRO is said to resemble the real Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, hence the appearances from David LaBrava (Happy), Chuck Zito (Frankie Diamonds), Rusty Coones (Quinn), and Sonny Barger (Lenny "The Pimp" Janowitz) who are all real Hell's Angels members. As Vice-President and later President of SAMCRO, Jax struggles with the everyday dealings of the club and the legacy of his father, the founder of the club. SAMCRO is involved with gun-running throughout the western United States and deals with many rival gangs and politicians and authorities. Įach season involves two parallel plot lines that intertwine and overlap: the first centers on the personal life of Jackson "Jax" Teller (Charlie Hunnam) and his immediate family while the second deals with SAMCRO ( Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original). In February 2015, he said he would not work on the prequel, likely to be titled "The First 9", before 2017. In November 2013, Sutter indicated he was in talks with FX to make a Sons of Anarchy prequel set in the 1960s.

Annabeth Rosen’s curious cluster of bud-like forms titled ‘Roil,’ is a standout in this west-coast sculptor’s first solo show at Chelsea’s PPOW Gallery. Like the oil paintings behind it, the piece suggests a 3-D fingerprint or a living form that has gathered itself together from many parts to present a formidable mass. (On view through March 25th). Looking at sculptures and drawings displayed as an installation, how repetition is used on a micro and macro level and the “everyday” as a concept for contemporary art.

Annabeth Rosen

Rosen’s work is primal, and it eludes the usual language of opposites. Her objects are neither natural nor artificial, neither representational nor abstract. Employing a unique logic, her pieces result from a procedure that involves merging two dimensions with three while engaging the rhetoric of repetition and variation. Her forms combine the simplicity of a repeated action with the complexity of compound structures—a process that is rhizomatic in nature and strongly analogous to growth patterns.

In The Poetics of Space, Gaston Bachelard introduced “intimate immensity,” the idea that certain circumstances and conditions essentially take place at two scales, the psychological/symbolic and the physical. What Rosen does within the physical realm roughly parallels how we perceive figures or architecture—merging them into another, intensely psychological arena where sight desires touch. She reveals an intense sensitivity to the micro- and macro-scales, focusing with equal intensity on the close-up detail and the distancing effects of mass. I think a lot about the made-up thing. I make these things to be real, conceivable, without question. There’s something there in those white, lumpy, cracked things that bears some relationship to the made world, or to nature, to some very ordinary thing. Although you do this very ordinary thing, you operate on information that’s from within you on a kind of subcellular level. So, if my work has to be about something, it’s about how humans negotiate life, class, education, and our understanding of culture—and the engagement in conversations about all of these things.
