Office AU - Saitama x Genos

(Aged up characters)

Saitama, 35 year old office drone at a large corperate company. After working for 10 years he's only managing to be promoted to TL (team leader) of his department; co-workers and higher-ups taking advantage of his position to steal his accomplishments and push him down the ladder. Plus! losing all his hair at 25 and everything else he's just gone numb.

As he contemplates turning in his resignation for the umpteenth time for the day(though he doesn't have any slush funds to depend on). Enter high energy and serious 29 years young upstart Genos, a employee sent over from another branch after supposedly causing some tension in the other branch due to his attitude and un-bending and robotic like personality.

Desite being over qualified hes been handed off to Saitamas department. How troublesome. Saitama has no idea how to handle over serious passionate types, but whats even more troublesome...

It doesn't seem to matter how mundane or simple his instructions or advice is, this Genos guy acts like he's imparted some sort of great wisdom. He's even taken upon himself to start looking after him at work, bringing him lunch and all sorts of other unnecessary like he's a personal assistant.... or as his annoying coworkers like to put it.. his WIFE.

Poor disgruntled Saitama can't seem to catch a break, maybe he really should just resign

I posted an AO3 fic that's just all the ranfuku tumblr and twitter fics I've written and now I'm kinda wondering if I should do that for my other fandoms too. It's kinda handy and I don't want to loose stuff as the sites go down. Yall. Tell me why I have yet to see a Role Swap au for GenoSai where Depowered Disciple! Saitama (not Cyborg!Saitama) 24/7 gets his ass handed to him and Sensei!Genos is always the one who ends the fights?

The closest I got was a two-part thing in a One-Shot collection hidden in the depths of Ao3.

Like. Can I please witness Saitama getting absolutely beat tf down in battle and Genos saving his ass time and time again? Witness Saitama being as reckless as canon Genos is, and Genos living in constant fear for his disciple's life and annoyance over said disciple because this mf just won't. Stop. Modern AU Genosai Fic Outline

Genos , [freshman college]:

An overly optimistic and straight laced student who, despite his serious nature has a pension for getting in trouble due to his unyielding personality and blunt way of speaking.

Is a engineering and robotics major.

Saitama, [Freeter]:

had no interest in college deciding to work odd jobs for needed cash, spends the majority of his time exercising,  reading manga watching anime, hanging out with his friend King, looking after the house and cutting coupons.

Plot outline:

After Genos gets himself tangled up with some delinquents on his way home from school Saitama steps in to help him (either on his way home from grocery shopping or maybe taking out garbage or something at his part time job) The scuffle ends with saitama winning but it results in his groceries being damaged and/or him getting fired. Genos feeling "indebted" to Saitama (but its very clear to the reader that hes infatuated by Saitama and wants and excuse to get close to him) ends up tracking him down desperate to repay him. After his persistence Saitama agrees to let the kid do some chores at his house. Friends to lovers ensues.

okay but like,,, i really want to read a fanfic where Genos died by the mad cyborg and Saitama revenge him but now that genos is gone he´s sad and feel empty cause now his days are like in loneliness but Genos reborn in some other person and saitama kind of recognizes him but he still feel sad cause the new person remember him so much about genos so he doesn't want to fell in love again but he ended up doing it and has this mixed feeling between been happy and feeling good but also feeling he is disrespecting genos memory or something

Does anyone know this one OPM fic where the hero association finds out how powerful Saitama is and they sort of imprison him just cus he’s really strong and they’re scared lol, I cannot find it, I don’t remember much else about it, I’m pretty sure it’s a genosai fic though, if anyone know the fic I’m talking about please let me know, I wanna read it again so bad :’)

actually batarou is the most popular opm ship now genosai shippers are rare. it's a relic of the past (2016) also batarou gets less hate probably because it doesn't involve the mc

I don’t really think so.

Saigenos still has 8x the amount of Batarou fics on AO3.

On twitter, the Saigenos keyword has been used 800-1000 times in the last 7 days when Batarou has only been used 500-700

Saigenos tweets in the “top” category of the tag have on average 200-300 likes meanwhile Batarou has 100-200.

The Saigenos tag on tumblr has 8k followers while the Batarou tag has only 1k.

And tbh, I’ve gotten a fair amount of hate for shipping Batarou. I’m not sure if other Saigenos shippers have gotten the same. And at this point, Garou may as well be a second MC with now much screentime he’s getting in the manga lol.

It’s ok if a ship is not the most popular, we can still enjoy it. It’s actually more freeing to make ship content without the burden of “omg is this canon/is this popular” etc etc. I actually kinda like that Batarou is in the shadow of Saigenos, a little bit. Makes the community feel smaller and more put-together in my opinion.
