annabeth teasing percy about him being on the brink of calling her a friend (even though he literally just said he’d turn his back on his dad for her because she's done a lot more for him in days than poseidon his whole life, which goes a lot deeper than maybe friendship) is gold because you KNOW she is never letting that shit slide. down the line in season 2, when she's crying in his arms underwater in a bubble over what the sirens showed her, i hope she wipes her tears real quick and tells him he went through quite the length to save someone he could never be friends with. in season 3, when annabeth is rescued from being kidnapped (after percy sneaks onto a quest he has no business being on yet again because he cares about her too much) and he asks her to dance on olympus during the solstice, i hope she jokingly declines because they could simply never be friends and not friends don’t dance with each other. in season 4, when he’s by default assumed to be a companion on her quest, i hope she goes ‘actually…i only bring my friends on quests with me’. in season 5, when he asks for a kiss for good luck, i hope she puts him in place bc who asks people they’re not even friends with for kisses? when he confesses his feelings for her and is trying to tell her she’s his tether to his mortality and a reason he denied godhood, i hope she goes ‘surely you didn’t think of me. because we could never be friends” before she kisses him. writers do your fucking jobs PLEASE

For some time the only thing I knew about Ki-Adi Mundi's situation with the four wifes was that he had to do it because his specie was in danger and risked extiction.

So my brain had constructed this complicated fantasy of Mundi's father managing to guilt trip him into marrying and having children, and if he did not he would basically accuse him of not being a true Jedi, because as a Jedi he HAD to help his planet and make this sacrifice, and so Mundi accepted.

But then the more time passed the worse he started to feel towards his wifes and children. He never wanted to do all this, he felt incredibly and utterly alone, his father and his wifes wouldn't let him contact any of his friends at the Jedi Temple, so that he could concentrate only on them and his "mission".

And for as much as he tried to bond with his daughters, he only kept seeing the result of the legal and continuous r*pes his father had managed to trap him into.

So one day, tired of the isolation and him being treated as nothing more than something used to create children, he managed to get off planet and contact the Jedi who then helped him return home to the Temple.

For like weeks this was my version of events, then I reread the wiki and discovered that, well, he actually had a good time with his family soooooo.... guess I got everything wrong, again, lol.

Secretly, I've been working on a project for myself that I wasn't planning on publishing for a while.

However, as I was working on it, and expanding on it after all these months, I had an amazing idea today. I'm already four chapters in and I'm so excited to get to the point where I can start posting it.

It's a revamped version of my first-ever fanfic.

The first version was so bad I deleted it years ago now. But I've been working on so many parts for so long that it's actually incredible that I'm finally finding a way to put all the pieces together.

I don't have a set timetable just yet. I want to finish a few more chapters and then I'll start posting week by week hopefully.

But still, I'm so excited!

Having the clan leaders in masters is just making me wish we got a book or SOMETHING that established backstories/lore for these characters.

For instance, is Irida actually older than Adaman? She talks to him like a child, and as we saw in the credits for Hisuian Snow (presumably two years before PLA according to the info we get in game) Adaman looks like he’s ~16, hasn’t reached his full height, and is still in his Diamond Clan member uniform, whereas Irida is already leader by the looks of things despite allegedly having only just come into the role in Legends.

Not to mention, post-game, Irida and Mai admit they have talks about how Adaman is doing as a leader, who is also known to not be taken seriously by his people and treated like a little brother moreso than anything. So when he rags on Irida about inexperience, is it just inconsistent writing? Is it him just pointing out that neither of them have the right to denounce the player on the grounds of seniority?

In the branching timeline, Thor has to restart Tony's heart, and Steve hears that Bucky is alive. Some things go differently, and some things stay the same. For starters, Steve and Tony are still terrible at saying those three little words.

This was a very early fic for me, and the first one I wrote where I really felt like I could hear the characters - like they were starting to boss me around. It also has one of my favorites of my many melodramatic finishes.

Longing (MCU, Sambucky, M, 11.8k)

"Hours later, when everything was well and truly fucked, Bucky would recognize the exact moment when he should have benched himself. It had happened in the dazed split-second between Sam flashing him a smile as he swan-dived out of the plane and Bucky almost leaping right after him, his parachute lying forgotten on the floor."

This fic ate my soul. I don't think I have eve gotten quite so deeply consumed in the process of writing a fic, and I feel happy to have gotten pretty close to the very hard thing I wanted to try to achieve.

Historian Tony Stark has one year to get his book about WWII weapons technology under contract before he goes up for Full Professor at Stanley College. There's only one chapter left to finish, which is supposed to explain Peggy Carter's involvement with something called "Project Rebirth," but there are two problems: his trail of evidence goes cold every time he encounters references to an enigmatic soldier named Steven Rogers, and his stress levels shoot through the roof every time he runs into the endlessly frustrating new hire in Fine Arts, Dr. Grant.

This is the most extensively world-buildy AU I've ever written (including hilarious lines from Ferret and jokes from me that are punishingly niche...), and I also just had an absolute blast co-writing it: maybe the most fun I've had writing.

CC-2224 had been compromised.

That had been the assessment delivered by Lieutenant Piett, the Imperial officer who met the returning Purge Troopers in the landing bay, and CC-2224 had accepted the new parameters and applied them to his current situation. He had been compromised in the field, and that was why his heart rate was tachycardic, his vision was blurred, and he was currently being dragged down the hall by the armpits, his wrists cuffed behind his back so that every step wrenched against his shoulders.

It's often the case that my current fic is one of my favorite fics, but I think this karker will likely stay on the list, both because I have been really grabbed (throttled, frankly) by the premise and because I am trying so many things that scare the shit out of me (including my first smut scene...those other "Ms" are totally unearned, y'all, and when I post the final chapter of this I may expire due the mortifying ordeal of being perceived).

Honestly, I'm afraid to end my life, but it's easier to feel pain once than to feel it for a lifetime. I'm so scared of your reactions. I might find some of you happy it's either I ended my pain or happy because I'm out. I'm afraid of these dark thoughts that went swarming towards me like a colony of angry wasps. They attack at the most inconvenient times, where patience and other virtues are needed. I had to hold back tears from falling, but as if they have their minds, drop soundlessly. They seemed to have no end, it would often wrap around my neck, and every string of words would only tighten it, choking me in the back with tears and panic. As much as I struggled to fight them off, I always went to bed alone and struggled to breathe.

this was an old piece of mine that i put in that fic. I find it so raw and emotional. I am so proud of that paragraph.

I know a lot of you don’t like fics abt Mira yk herself, but I do like that trope. And yes i do not like or promote it. It is just a what if situation where pressure and hurt is built up in another life, in another universe. I’m sorry. 😔

after finding out that the poetry foundation/POETRY magazine pulled a piece that discussed anti-zionism because they "don't want to pick a side" during the current genocide, i decided to put together a list of online outlets who are explicitly in solidarity with palestine where you can read (english-language) poetry, including, except where otherwise stated, by palestinian poets!

my criteria for this is not simply that they have published palestinian poets or pro-palestine statements in the past; i only chose outlets that, since october 7, 2023, have done one of the following:

published a solidarity statement against israeli occupation & genocide

signed onto the open letter for writers against the war on gaza and/or the open letter boycotting the poetry foundation

published content that is explicitly pro-palestine or anti-zionist, including poetry that explicitly deals with israeli occupation & genocide

shared posts that are pro-palestine on their social media accounts

Despite the assumptions that one might make upon learning of your relationship with the self-declared "Mundanite," let it be known that Veritas Ratio is not a subtle lover. Far from it, really, at least when you get to know him.

And, for both better and worse, there doesn't exist another being within the universe that knows him just as intimately as you.

Undeniably arrogant, yet painstakingly obvious. Sharp-witted, with seemingly no care for the feelings of those around him, yet, in his own way, surprisingly caring of those plagued with misfortune. He says what he means and means what he says, if only because he cannot bear the inefficacy of beating around the bush, yet it means little when most find themselves in desperate need of a dictionary while attempting to converse with him.

It's contradictory, to say the least. Hypocritical, even, given just how misaligned these traits are. But such is the nature of the man you call yours, a decision that elicits both confusion and envy from students and staff alike.

Admittingly, however, it's rather difficult to bring yourself to care.

You can't, really, as the depths of his adoration become increasingly transparent over the course of your unlikely romance. As the walls he'd devotedly built come crashing down before your bright eyes, alabaster head all but abandoned as he embraces your presence, almost akin to a flower that turns to embrace the Sun's warmth.

No, you can't when he rushes to seek you out the moment his classes come to an end, muscular arms wrapped firmly around your waist as while you grade exams, chin resting atop your shoulder as he scolds the never-ending idiocy of his students. When he comes to dub you as his third panacea, mind and soul wholly entranced by your love, leaving him uncharacteristically tense whenever you're called away for an expedition.

Because it's practically impossible to care when you visit his home after returning, chatting with the man while he works on his latest sculpture only to find that its features come to resemble your own as the evening progresses. When he awakens the next morning, long before dawn, carefully untangling your bodies as he prepares to depart for his daily workout.

When, right before leaving, he presses a chaste kiss to your temple, half-asleep mind barely cognizant enough to understand the words he whispers against your skin.
