🇦🇫 🚨 💥SUICIDE BOMBER IN AFGHANISTAN STRIKES TALIBAN GOVERNMENT OFFICE IN NIMROZ PROVINCE💥

Afghan media is reporting an explosion resulting from a suicide bomber at a Taliban Governor's office in the Nimroz Province area in the southwest of Afghanistan, wounding three Taliban personnel.

In a statement issued to the Afghan International news agency, Taliban Ministry of Interior spokesperson, Abdul Matin Qane said that an attacker wearing explosives bypassed two security checkpoints as Governor Mohammed Qasim Khalid exited his offices for prayer.

Gul Mohammed Qadrat, a spokesperson for the local Police Command told local media that the suicide bomber detonated his explosives after being identified by the bodyguards of Governor Khalid, who opened fire on the attacker.

Residents in the city of Zaranj reported hearing explosions coming from the direction of the Governor's office on Sunday evening, and witnesses told local media they heard gunfire shortly after the explosion.

#just spent over an hour writing an antrag for a severely disabled ukrainian refugee girl #who is being housed in a refugee mass shelter #(which has no space to safely prepare the special food she needs #and where only one of the bathrooms is wheelchair accessible #which is basically always in use bc theres too many people living in the shelter #shes living in one room with her whole family #which is obviously even less available space if you have to use a wheelchair)#and anyway the whole time i had to think about this absolutely braindead post #that some people shared on here #where it was framed as ~white privilege that the ukrainians got to move into the mass shelter facilities #while afghans (who often had been living in these mass shelters for far longer than intended) were moved to regular housing #bc our government finally realized after the taliban takeover that most of them wont go home for the foreseeable future #and like completely separate from any opinions about the ukraine war or weapons deliveries or whatever #if youve ever looked at people who had to flee from war #and thought wow they seem so privileged to me #theres something deeply wrong with you that no amount of reading leftist theory #or posting progressive shit on social media will fix #literally the only hope you have is go out and volunteer with real life refugees

#tp #you can't just make these ppl who have fled their country bc of the taliban leave their homes for white refugees 😐#make place for both of these people #you don't get to give some special treatment istfg #and they never reveal this to the general public ffs #and if the afghan refugees speak against it they have a risk of getting deported which is nuts #i genuinely hope the ukranian refugees find peace again but the thing the german government did is not the way #they had HOMES. now they're forced to move somewhere else #a refugee is a refugee. treat them all equally #sure the housing is from the government but still. they had lives there. it's cruel of them to make them move.

G7 calls on Taliban to stop restricting women's rights

Paris (The Times Groupe)- The Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers said on Thursday that the Taliban’s increasing restrictions on women and girls’ rights in Afghanistan are isolating the country.

“These measures further isolate the Taliban from the international community,” said the G7 foreign ministers and European Union foreign policy chief.

French officials urged the Taliban to take immediate action to lift restrictions on women and girls, and to respect their human rights, in a joint statement.

In another step toward their past hardline rule, the Taliban, who swept back to power after the Afghan government collapsed last year, ordered women to cover their faces in public on Saturday.

So OK in 2021 the US abruptly withdrew from Afghanistan and the Taliban promptly seized the capital of Kabul. The US responded by freezing the assets of the national bank at which point the Afghan economy collapsed. There are no jobs to be had, people can't afford to buy food or heat their homes, over 10,000 children under 5 years old have died from starvation and malnutrition this year. Things are incredibly bad.

Foreign aid orgs withdrew when the US government did out of fear they couldn't keep their foreign national staff safe from the Taliban. The UN has classified what is happening in Afghanistan as the largest humanitarian disaster in the world right now.

Enter Nasrat Khalid and Aseel. Aseel is an Afghan company run by Afghan people who live in places from DC to Egypt to remote provinces in Afghanistan. When they provide food, it is food purchased in Afghanistan that people will want to eat, not what westerners think people should have. When Aseel provides clothing, it is Afghan clothing purchased from Afghan shops made by Afghan tailors, not worn out castoffs from westerners. Beneficiaries are not required to do any work for Aseel and are helped regardless of religion or ethnicity. Aseel also provides Afghan artisans access to international customers, helping them not need to become beneficiaries in the first place.

So you can help a couple ways - you can buy an emergency package/donate to a campaign, or you can literally go shopping for any number of beautiful things. It will take about a month for things to get to you from Afghanistan but it's absolutely worth it.
