I don’t know the appropriate timeline that one would deem worthy the usage of the word “recent,” but I think this Netflix Original fits underneath that cap. This movie, The Half of It, has a coming-of-age feel, which I suppose was the purpose. It follows a young high school senior who is hired to write love letters for a popular jock, who in turn is trying to win over the girl of his dreams. The movie was alright, it has some average representation while also shining a slight light on differing sexual orientations. 

I thought the plot was ‘ehh.’ It was on the same level as other movies, such as After (I don’t know if those are fighting words) and The Kissing Booth, which has a second part being released on July 24th of this year (was it deserved…I’m unsure). I’m not too keen on giving ratings, like star-wise ratings. I’m just here, sharing my opinion with noncommittal onamonapia-like reactions. Overall, I think this movie is a ‘bleh,’ or maybe a ‘hmm.’

I believe movies, and how good they’re perceived, are about how they make a person feel. This movie just didn’t cut it for me, but you may feel differently. Let me know.

>Last minute thoughts: I don’t like how they went with the stereotype of the “stupid” jock. He could’ve been smart and still needed help with writing his love letter while simultaneously, or even coincidentally, being a football player.

" Kida " : L'autre dessin avec lequel j'ai eu du mal, Kida, de Atlantis ! Elle aussi a pris la succession de son père après le film^^ en devenant propriétaire du sceptre qui s'est maintenant chrystalisé... Elle porte aussi quelques unes de ces roches magiques de la caverne, j'ai essayé de les faire luire un petit peu. Sa magicalgirlification est moins "shojo" que "Disneyée", même son visage et son corps ont clairement souffert d'un excès de référenciation^^. Mais n'allons pas penser que c'est un échec, parfois, être capable de copier un style est très gratifiant, et étrangément, je suis fière de celui là... ...D'autant plus que je l'avais presque flingué depuis le début, la première couche posée étant la peau et je j'ai choisie trop fonçée. J'ai dû mettre la scène dans le noir et le contraster avec des effets de luimière pour que ça ait l'air naturel... c'est pour ça que j'ai dû revenir à ce travail à deux fois, pour me calmer avant de faire les gestes de premiers secours ! _____ [en] the other wip I had problem with, Kida, from Atlantis! She aslo wears some of thoose magic stones from the cavern as bracelets, I tried to make them glow a little. Her magicalgirlification is less "shojo" than "disneyish", even the face and the bodyshape has clearly suffered from over-referencing^^. But let's not think it's a fail, sometimes, being able to copy a style is very rewarding, and unexpectedly, I'm proud of this one... ... All the more since I almost NAILED IT from the beginning, the first layer of color I put was skintone and it was too dark. I had to put the all scene in dark and contrast it with glowing effects to make it look natural...
