As a trans person myself, it really hits close to home to see these kinds of struggles and I'm glad that Izuku has Shouto to support him.

Sex and kisses are fine, but it's so nice to see other forms of affection being shown so sweetly, especially as an asexual person.

One of my favourite authors of all time, this story first planted the seed of my own take on the concept of Big Brother Shouto and writing that has felt like fulfilling my life's purpose, so thank you RJ.

"A Path To Recovery" by whathappenedbro https://archiveofourown.org/works/29807553/chapters/73333236 In which Shouto tells Aizawa about Endeavour after the fight with Stain and is saved. I almost wanted to save this for "hallowed heartbreaker" or "pitch perfect", but I knew I had to include it somewhere, it's too amazing not to include.

The fifth prompt is hallowed heartbreaker a fic that hurt you but you hold dearly. reverently, even, you might say. it's that good.

"every time is too often" by conamor https://archiveofourown.org/works/24201955 Izuku is a paramedic and Shouto is the Pro Hero who comes crawling to his house to get patched up. A few graphic descriptions of injuries and fears that someone is dead, this definitely hurts.

"a mighty ocean or a gentle kiss" by unreemarkable https://archiveofourown.org/works/30388731 After the War, Shouto shows up in Izuku's room and has a breakdown. Mild spoilers for the War Arc and more friendship than romance, this is still a good fic.

"A Collection of Masks" by Anonymous https://archiveofourown.org/works/28247424 Izuku is a faker, hiding all his pain behind a smiling suit of armour and Shouto is the only one who can see through it. Possibly some depression for Izuku and a lot of faked happiness, this is an intense fic.

"They don't know you like we do" by AgarJelly https://archiveofourown.org/works/33638899 The Deku Squad's fun day at the beach is crashed by some bullies who hurt Izuku in middle school. Links into another of Agar's work, the Tododeku King hits hard with this fic of angst.

"The Melodies We Can't Forget" by Aurigardyn https://archiveofourown.org/works/32045782 In a modern world where Shouto ran away to New York City and never fell out of love with Izuku, he's returning home for the first time. Lots of angst over childhood heartbreak, this hits hard.

The sixth prompt is pitch perfect a fic where izuku and shouto are characterized perfectly. their voices and their mannerisms, from the big things to the little details—the author has them all down to a T.

"Decadence" by giirlswhocrii https://archiveofourown.org/works/20090863 A normal day in Class 1A finds Izuku and Shouto sharing hot chocolate in the evening. The entire class is pretty in character here, it feels like an episode in the show.

"Love is simple, yet so hard to understand" by Ejrin https://archiveofourown.org/works/20412172 A story where Shouto discovers what it means to be loved through his classmates at UA. More character study than story, I really enjoyed this one since it paid attention to his friendships and romantic relationship.

"The Heart of a Hero" by WingsofaBird https://archiveofourown.org/works/29455998/chapters/72354714 While Izuku lays in the hospital after the training camp incident, Shouto and Toshinori meet and talk to one another. An interesting conversation between the two, even as Shouto's theorises run a little wild.

"fame is what it is" by monado https://archiveofourown.org/works/18162227/chapters/42952118 Shouto has been famous his entire life, not that he enjoys it. Another fic/character study, I'd say this holds both qualities in equal amount.

"the sun to my sky; the moon to my stars" by smallmightysmash https://archiveofourown.org/works/26155969 A recounting of canon up to the Endeavour Internship Arc from Shouto's POV, detailing how he fell in love with Izuku Midoriya. A cute story and character study.

If both Shōto & Izuku have their own signature fragrances, what would they be?

Gahhhhh I gotta be cliche and say Izuku is apples and cinnamon, while Shoto is peppermint.

Although it would be funny if, during canon, Izuku absolutely reeks of Lynx Africa/Axe/Generic Tennage Boy deodorant, while Shoto just straight up doesn't wear any spray because it just never occurs to him.

Then, when they start dating, Shoto tries out Izuku's spray, but doesn't realise it's flammable, so when he gets flustered and his quirk ignites ever so slightly, he loses both his shirt and his dignity XD

Do you think Izuku uses his powers to make his ring sparkle to flex his engagement/marriage to Shouto? Or is it a Shouto thing to do :]

OMGGGGGGGGG!!!!! This is such a cute idea, yes absolutely!!!! I also hc that they wear their rings on chains around their necks which just adds to the magic 😍

Whenever Izuku gets his picture taken, you can see the emerald sparks that ravel around the chain and make the ring shine so much brighter! Some people (Kacchan) think it's obnoxious, but he honestly couldn't give a shit 😌

Meanwhile, whenever Shoto uses his fire, his ring glows, revealing "it's your power" inscribed along the outside. It's been years, but it never fails to make him smile fondly ❤

The real reason Sigaraki thinks that Bakugou is close to Izuku is because all of Izuku's other friends actually have plotlines and concerns of their own outside of Izuku. Bakugou meanwhile has nothing to do.

He's painfully irrelevant in any context that isn't Izuku related.

You're right and you should say it!

While all the other characters have taken inspiration from Izuku, they have their own plotlines that don't directly involve him (Shoto and his family, Iida and learning from the Stain incident, Uraraka figuring out what kind of hero she wants to become, Toshinori and finding purpose outside of being a hero).

Meanwhile, Bakugou has a set goal - to be the best hero - and he thinks he can only do that by proving he's better than Izuku. Throughout the narrative, he constantly inserts himself where he's not needed, because heaven forbid Izuku does anything without him knowing: dream to be a hero, apply for UA, develop a quirk, make friends, talk to Shoto alone at the sports festival (which I still have very strong thoughts about), go to All Might and Izuku's lunch time chats where he spends more time insulting them than helping - I could go on.

Without constantly involving himself in Izuku's life, he's just kind of... there, yelling and blasting and occasionally saying random progressive shit out of nowhere that don't match his actual behaviours.

He's obsessed with Izuku. And sure, they're sixteen years old - Bakugou isn't the same as Endeavour - but ngl it's similar to his obsession with All Might; it's such a blatantly obvious parallel, it can't just be ignored.

But y'know, I guess I'm just "willfully misinterpreting the story". Bk stans are never wrong, after all

When Izuku and Shoto become pros, they form their own agency: Our Power.

Why?

Shoto grew up being told he would take over Endeavour Agency when the time came. He grew up feeling alone and was content to live out the remainder of his life that way. So, when Izuku smashed his way into his life and his heart, Shoto was shown that he didn’t have to settle; he didn’t have to be content with being alone, inheriting an agency he never wanted.

So, he formed one with Izuku (he'd decided on the name several years prior, much to Izuku's flustered delight) because, while their solo work was impressive, their teamwork was something people marvelled at. It made sense to combine.

And years ago, Izuku showed him that his power was his own, all while trying to embrace a power he'd also inherited and felt belonged to someone else. It took time - along with a late night conversation where Shoto mirrored those words right back at him - for Izuku to also accept that.

"It's your power, not All Might's."

So, when an interviewer asked them why they chose such a name for their agency, Shoto brushed his fingers against Izuku's crooked ones, prompting his partner to intertwine their hands, and smiled. Only they knew the true reason and they preferred to keep it that way, but his response was no less truthful.

"It's our power and we're stronger together."

Hey lovelies!

I'm not going to be able to update Mido-sensei on the 1st March. In addition to February being a shorter month, I've had to deal with multiple life things going on (loved ones in hospital, pet care, stress at work).

I could bash out this next chapter in time for the update, but I would rather work on it until the 15th March and make sure that it is both a quality I am proud of and that you, the reader, deserve.

'I love rewatching stuff!' Izuku assured quickly, rubbing the back of his neck bashfully. ‘When I was younger, I used to watch All Might’s debut video constantly… shocking, I know.’

‘Bet you didn’t watch my debut video that religiously.’ Shoto quipped, as he brought up the movie on the screen. ‘Although I will admit, my debut video wasn’t nearly as impressive.’

Briefly, Izuku wondered which debut video he was referring to. If it was the staticky footage of his fight with his brother at only sixteen years old, then the raw power was impressive… it just wasn’t really the kind of video someone rewatched for fun. A child soldier forced to combat his brother, only to watch him destroy himself with his own flames in his revenge? Even if Shoto used his fire in combat, it would’ve been a difficult battle. 

No, Izuku wasn't particularly fond of watching Shoto fail to save Todoroki Touya.

However, if it was Serenity Hero: Shoto’s debut video, then he most certainly had watched it religiously. He’d been fresh out of UA - fully trained and more mature - as a sidekick at Gang Orca’s agency. Izuku still remembered when it aired for the first time: Shoto had single-handedly prevented a building from collapsing - saving over seventy lives - whilst also taking down a villain capable of growing and shrinking their own body at will.

He also remembered how, after the fight was over, Shoto had brushed off the press to stay with the victims, refusing to leave until everyone had a place to go.

Izuku had known then he was a goner for that man.

‘I really loved your debut video.’ He spoke, passion in his voice. 'I knew from the first time I watched it that you were gonna be one of my favourites, and I was right. You're a true hero, Shoto-kun.'

His friend pointedly looked away then, albeit the way his hair was tied up in a messy bun meant that he couldn't hide his reddening ears. While Izuku internally jumped for joy at being the reason why Shoto was so flustered, he also couldn't help but ponder how someone so attuned to compliments could react in such a way to his comment.

'Thanks, Midoriya.'

Probably starting ship discourse (again), but I’ll say it anyway. I prefer Deku/Shoto Todoroki over Todoroki/Momo Yaoyorozu any day! Deku/Todoroki better humanize the characters involved and have more leeway for romantic/platonic interpretations. For Todoroki/Yaomomo, I think they’re MORE interesting as platonic friends. Painting the pair in a romantic light kind of falls flat; strips them of their humanity and frames them as another (rich) eye candy couple. 👈😒💅

Yeah, I mean, you came to the right place, so I doubt you'll start any ship discourse here! :')

Platonic todomomo is great, can't get enough of it, but their chemistry in a romantic sense just doesn't... really exist, not to me anyway. They make each other better and they can bond over the similarities between them (same with Iida tbh), but the vibe they give off definitely seems more m|m+w|w besties and that's fine!

Just, personally... I can't watch the way Shoto always looks at/focuses on Izuku, who gives him the softest of smiles, and go "yup, he's totally crushing on Momo".

Sooooo...

I was thinking about this scene and while there's no doubt that part of the reason why Shoto says this is because Izuku is his hero, you know who else used to cry a lot, yet protected Shoto as best as she could given her situation?

In his memories, Rei is always crying, but that never prevented her from stepping in to try and stop Enji hurting Shoto. He recognises how brave his mum was and how crying never stopped her from trying to come to his aid, before she had her breakdown.

So yeah... We gonna talk about how Shoto's first hero was definitely his mum? ;-;
