I know at some point Fuji was designated Hayata's love interest, but with 32 episodes down I can confidently call bullshit on that. They barely speak to each other, never mind be interested in each other; honestly this lady that shows up in one episode, Pati, has more love interest vibes than Fuji; and for the record, yes, I ship it

My idea for a Godzilla Minus One expanded universe
Following Godzilla's rampage in 1947, Japan established the JSDF in this timeline in 1954. During this time, Godzilla's regeneration was sped up due to exposure to Castle Bravo.
It was revealed that the pre-mutated form of Godzilla encountered by Koichi Shikishima on Odo Island was actually a juvenile member of an ancient species of amphibious reptile that could absorb and metabolize radiation and the Atomic Breath was actually an ability this species could utilize once they reached a certain age/size. However, due to his exposure to Castle Bravo, Godzilla was given a radiation induced growth spurt in addition to his healing factor having to compensate for the sudden growth hence his rather deliberate movements since in 1947 due to growing pains. It wouldn't be until 1954 when Godzilla could move with the same level of fluidity in his juvenile state as well as gaining a size of seventy meters, a size that would increase to a hundred as the years went by.
The Oxygen Destroyer was used on Godzilla in 1956 by Dr. Daisuke Serizawa, at the cost of its creator's life. Though, Godzilla managed to survive.
In addition to Godzilla, more Kaiju would begin to emerge such as Anguirus from Mt. Fuji, Rodan from Nome, Alaska, Baragon in Montana, Megaguirus in a small Brazilian village, and Varan off the coast of Mexico.
In the late 2020's archaeologists discovered the ruins of a derelict civilization with technology far more advanced than any of humanity's technologies as well hieroglyphs depicting the Kaiju, including members of Godzilla's species, coexisting with this civilization which was later given the name "Ancestrals". In addition they found an array of automatons bearing a striking resemblance to Godzilla and dubbed them "Mechagodzillas" and added them to their arsenal against the Kaiju albeit having to incorporate their own technologies due to some of the Mechagodzillas being heavily damaged in order to compensate as well as implementing technology to give rise to machines like Jet Jaguar and MOGUERA.
Some countries were left in such ruin by the Kaiju that they had to go through a new Industrial Revolution in order to pick up the pieces.
Noriko is still alive due to the G-Cells granting her immortality at the cost of losing her beloved Koichi and Akiko to the ravages of time. This ultimately broke her mind and forced her to create the "Godzilla Legion", a cult consisting of people who had been infected by G-Cells following his 1947 attack.
It was discovered in the late 80's that Godzilla could feed upon radiation in order to grow more powerful when he attacked multiple nuclear power plants across the Pacific Rim.
In the wake of the newly established "Monstripecene" (Age of the Monsters), the UN pooled its resources together to create the UNKCC (United Nations Kaiju Counteract Coalition).
It wouldn't be until the early 2030s when Kaiju deemed worse than Godzilla such as Destoroyah, SpaceGodzilla, and King Ghidorah would make themselves known to the world.
