Children’s Song Booklet
A The Breakdown
SOooooooooo I just realised the colour of the screen I’ve been designing on isn’t set to standard colours... Basically I just designed a kid’s book the colour of puke....yay for me.
(edit.... or is it!?! I don’t know what correct colour is anymoooorrreeee....apparently the puke screen was just set to muted colours.....ach)
It’s too late in the game for me to worry about changing it all so ill just post a shitty screen-on screen photo here from my cellphone of what I’m seeing on this stupid dumb wrong screen so that you can see that my colour scheme is just 70′s Caravan Diner Menu, not puke/baby shit.

You get the idea.

Vector Images Made In Illustrator
Tumblr media
I’m a bit shit at drawing from my head so I started with an Image borrowed (stolen) from KellerAC on DeviantArt  as a bottom layer (low opacity) to trace over with the Pen Tool
I start with one layer for eavch component of the burger
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Untill I have all by burg layers drawn in simplke form. (Stroke is 2, and I’vew used that over the whole booklet to keep things flowing)
Tumblr media
Next I duplicate each food layer so I have four of each. And I can rename them all based on what they will be
Outline
Base Image
Shadow
Highlight
For the shadow, I use the techniques recorded in the Penguin Tutorial Blog.
Pentool
Intersect Pathfinder Tool
make new swatch colour by adjusting fill colour of object to a darker shade
Change Oppacity to Muultiply, and slide down to around 30%
Tumblr media
For the Highlight layer, It’s a similar process except the colour needs to be lighter, and the opacity to around 20% (normal opacity settings, not multiply)
I do this to all of my foodie layers
I add a face with eyes and sesemi seeds (I meant to shade and highlight the seeds too but ran out of time)
My Layers look like this untill i collapse them doiwn
Tumblr media
Pretty chuffed with this little guy, I’ve never nailed shadow and highlight before so woohoo!
Oh god these colours are truly horrible But I love my maggot. They cute.
Tumblr media
I start with a Stunning Photo from the Science Photo Library and again, open it up as a baSE LAYER WITH LOW OPACITY
FFor my outline layer I have all the eclipses on the same layer and use the Pathfinder TRIM tool
Tumblr media
Then each eclipse has iit’s own layer to make it easier...it’s probably not easier...
Chuck on the shadow and highlights by locking all the other layers as i work
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again I start with an image as a bottom layer to trace from
This one is from and Article called Eel At Home wreitten by Akil Ravi at https://www.snipettemag.com/eel-at-home/
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pretty terrible trace really, but I ran out of time to tidy it up and it was going to be made way smaller anyway
Traced from this picture
https://www.freepik.com/premium-vector/skeleton-link-thumbs-up-hand-line-art-vintage-tattoo-print-design-vector-illustratio_24168568.htm
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Made from bellow image of a cutout I made with paper when I was a teenager.
Made Greyscale in Photoshow, and Levels adjusted for high contrast black and white image.
Then magic wand tool sequence for getting rid of the background
PHotoshop Box Blur applied and exported as png
Tumblr media
Again I have a small rage about the colours....and don’t do anything about it
Tumblr media
See Previous blog for stepo by step instructions on how I made my pattern
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dotted line made using Pentool in InDesign and choosing the dashed line option

Quote
"Now, when they [people from his village] move to the city [for work], they no longer want the things that parents can afford to give them, like handmade soaps, food and oil,” he adds. “They seem to want only store-bought things. They don’t take their elders’ advice. Parents take heavy loans to pay for education, but [some of] the children use it to drink and take drugs; they lie to their parents and a lot of money goes into paying for medical care and hospitals.” Then, he adds sorrowfully, “Even if you tell the children to stay, will they stay? I like the village, but there is no life left here."

Pakistan Railways
Pakistan Railways
Pakistan Railways (reporting mark PR) (Urdu: پاکستان ریلویز ‎) is a national state-owned rail transport service of Pakistan, head-quartered in Lahore. It is administered by the federal government under the Ministry of Railways. Pakistan Railway provides an important mode of transportation throughout Pakistan. It is commonly referred to as the "life line of the country", by aiding in large-scale movement of people and freight throughout Pakistan.[citation needed]The idea of a rail network was first thought of in 1847, with the possibility of Karachi becoming a major seaport. Sir Henry Edward Frere, who was appointed as the Commissioner of Sindh, sought permission from Lord Dalhousie to begin a survey for a Karachi Seaport and a survey for a railway line in 1858. The proposed railway line would be laid from Karachi (city) to Kotri. A steamboat service on the Indus and Chenab rivers would connect Kotri to Multan and from there another railway line would be laid to Lahore and beyond.
On 13 May 1861, the first railway line was opened to the public, between Karachi and Kotri, with a total distance of 169 kilometres (105 mi). Lahore-Multan 336 kilometres (209 mi) railway line was opened for traffic on 24 April 1865. On 6 October 1876 three bridges on the Ravi, Chenab and Jhelum rivers were completed and Lahore-Jhelum railway line opened. On 1st July 1878 Lodhran-Pano Akil 334 kilometres (208 mi) section on main railway line was inaugurated.
By 1886, there were four railway companies operating in what would become Pakistan. The Scinde (Sindh) Railways, Indian Flotilla Company, Punjab Railway and Delhi Railways. These were amalgamated into the Scinde, Punjab & Delhi Railways Company and purchased by the Secretary of State for India in 1885, and in January 1886 formed the North Western State Railway, which was later on renamed as North Western Railway (NWR). It was renamed Pakistan Western Railway in February 1961 and Pakistan Railways in May 1974.
It was the year 1857 when the idea was suggested by William Andrew (Chairman of Scinde, Punjab and Delhi Railway) that the railways to the Bolan Pass would have strategic role in responding to any threat by Russia. During the second Afghan War (1878–80) between Britain and Afghanistan, a new urgency was needed to construct a Railway line up to Quetta in order to get easier access to the frontier. On 18 September 1879, under the orders of Viceroy council, work begun on laying the railway tracks and after four months the first 215 km of line from Ruk to Sibi was completed and become operational in January 1880. Beyond Sibi the terrain was very difficult. After immense difficulties and harsh weather conditions, it was March 1887 when the railway line of over 320 km long finally reached Quetta.[5]
On 27 October 1878 Kotri-Sukkur railway line on west bank of Indus river was opened for traffic. The Lansdowne Bridge over Indus connecting Rohri and Sukkur was inaugurated on 25 March 1989. The completion of this bridge connected Karachi with Peshawar by rail.
By 1898, as the network began to grow, another proposed railway line was in the works from Peshawar to Karachi. It closely followed the route taken byAlexander The Great and his army while marching through the Hindu Kush to the Arabian Sea. During the early 20th century, railway lines were also laid down between Peshawar and Rawalpindi and Rawalpindi to Lahore. Different sections on the existing main line from Peshawar and branch lines were constructed in the last quarter of 19th century and early 20th century.
In 1947, at the time of independence, 3,133 route kilometres (1,947 mi) of North Western Railway were transferred to India, leaving 8,122 route kilometres (5,048 mi) to Pakistan. Of this 6,880 route kilometres (4,280 mi) were Broad gauge, 506 kilometres (314 mi) were Metre gauge, and 736 kilometres (457 mi) were Narrow gauge.[6][7]
In 1954, the railway line was extended to Mardan and Charsada, and in 1956 the Jacobabad-Kashmore 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) gauge line was converted into broad gauge. In 1961, the Pakistani portion of North Western Railways was renamed Pakistan Railways. The Kot Adu-Kashmore line was constructed between 1969 and 1973 providing an alternative route from Karachi to northern Pakistan. In February 2006 the Mirpur Khas-Khokhrapar 126 km metre gauge railway line was converted to broad gauge .
Controversies[edit source | editbeta]
Pakistan Railways has been the subject of a number of investigations by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Pakistan’s elite anti-corruption agency, after concerns were raised about contracts relating to the repair, upgrade and purchase of locomotives; unauthorised payments of over Rs220 million from its Accounts Department; the disposal of scrap; and the theft of consignments from cargo trains. In 2012 it was reported that these cases were referred to the NAB for investigation by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.[8]
In March 2012, Pakistan Railways’ ex-General Manager, was arrested by the NAB on charges of misuse of authority and alleged involvement in the misappropriation of Rs600 million, relating to the sale of scrap at a below market value rate.[9] In 2002, there was report compiled by some foreign investors about the assets of Pakistan Railways which estimates 18000 Billion USD but it was not confirmed by Government of Pakistan. According to the government resource, it worths more than the estimation.
Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour is also involved in corruption and he has been named in a multi-billion scrap scandal, currently being investigated by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).[10] He also allotted railway Dining cars to their Friends & Party Workers without tender.[11] He has strong allegations from peoples that he is destroying railways to support Transport Mafia.[12]
Track gauge[edit source | editbeta]
Pakistan Railways had a mixture of gauges, including Indian or broad gauge (1,676 mm/5 ft 6 in), metre gauge (1,000 mm/3 ft 3 3⁄8 in), and narrow gauge (762 mm/2 ft 6 in). A few metre gaugeand narrow gauge railway lines have been converted into broad gauge, and the remaining lines have been dismantled or abandoned. Now only broad gauge railway lines are operational in Pakistan Railways network.
Axle load limit[edit source | editbeta]
Pakistan Railways broad gauge track axle load limit is 22.86 tonnes except Rohri-Quetta & Quetta-Chaman railway lines on which axle load limit is 17.78 tonnes and Spezand-Zahedan railway line on which axle load limit is 17.27 tonnes.
Speed[edit source | editbeta]
The maximum Speed of Pakistan Railways is 120 km/h. Some sections of Karachi-Lahore main railway line allow 120 km/h speed. Work is in progress to improve railway track on Karachi-Khanpur section to increase speed to 140 km/h.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 19
6:00–10:00 p.m. Special Sneak Peek Screenings (Ballroom 20)
Deception: From Chuck co-creator Chris Fedak, the Blindspot creative team of Martin Gero, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, Emmy®-winning director David Nutter and renowned magician/puzzle creator David Kwong, Deception is a thrilling crime drama that combines FBI counter-espionage with the mysterious world of magic and misdirection. When his career is ruined by scandal, superstar magician Cameron Black (Jack Cutmore-Scott) has only one place to turn to practice his art of deception, illusion and influence — the FBI. Using every trick in the book and inventing new ones, he will help the government catch the world’s most elusive criminals while staging the biggest illusions of his career. Deception stars Jack Cutmore-Scott, Ilfenesh Hadera, Lenora Crichlow, Amaury Nolasco, Justin Chon, Laila Robins and Vinnie Jones. From Berlanti Productions and Quinn’s House in association with Warner Bros. Television, Deception premieres midseason on ABC.
Krypton: Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. Based on DC characters, Krypton is from Warner Horizon Scripted Television and is executive produced by David S. Goyer through his Phantom Four banner, along with Damian Kindler and Cameron Welsh. Krypton is based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, published by DC, and will debut in 2018 on SYFY.
Black Lightning: Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is a man wrestling with a secret. As the father of two daughters and principal of a charter high school that also serves as a safe haven for young people in a neighborhood overrun by gang violence, he is a hero to his community. Nine years ago, Pierce was a hero of a different sort. Gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, he used those powers to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning. However, after too many nights with his life on the line, and seeing the effects of the damage and loss that his alter ego was inflicting on his family, he left his Super Hero days behind and settled into being a principal and a dad. Choosing to help his city without using his superpowers, he watched his daughters Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer (China Anne McClain) grow into strong young women, even though his marriage to their mother, Lynn (Christine Adams), suffered. Almost a decade later, Pierce’s crime-fighting days are long behind him…or so he thought. But with crime and corruption spreading like wildfire, and those he cares about in the crosshairs of the menacing local gang The One Hundred, Black Lightning returns — to save not only his family, but also the soul of his community. Based on the characters from DC, Black Lightning is from Berlanti Productions and Akil Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Salim Akil & Mara Brock Akil and Sarah Schechter. Black Lightning premieres midseason on The CW.
Teen Titans Go!: The Teen Titans are back at it again, in Teen Titans Go!, with all new comedic adventures both in and out of Titans Tower, and we’ll have you covered by screening a brand-new, hour-long episode. Based on characters from DC and produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Teen Titans Go! airs Fridays at 6/5c on Cartoon Network.
Unikitty!: Your favorite character from The LEGO® Movie now has her own show! Journey to a joyous kingdom full of sparkle matter, happy thoughts and the occasional rage-out in Unikitty!, an all-new animated series. As ruler of the kingdom, Unikitty has busy days full of royal responsibilities. Unikitty is most interested in making sure everyone is happy and ridding the kingdom of negativity, but don’t misunderstand her optimism — she is one kitty not to be crossed. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Unikitty! is coming soon to Cartoon Network.

1:50–2:50 p.m. Lucifer Special Video Presentation and Q&A — Lucifer returns to San Diego to heat things up. With the Court of Owls decimated, the aftermath of the Tetch virus crippling the city, and every (surviving) villain in Gotham’s underworld jockeying for power, Jim Gordon and the GCPD will have their hands full. And that’s just the beginning! What threat does Ra’s al Ghul pose, and will Penguin regain his title as the King of Gotham? What new villains are in store for season four, and what does Bruce Wayne’s season finale reveal mean for Gotham City — and his ultimate destiny? 3:30–4:10 p.m. Supergirl Special Video Presentation and Q&A — Ridding National City of Queen Rhea and her Daxamite army was a major win for Supergirl, but one that came at a significant cost, as Kara was forced to sacrifice her budding relationship with Mon-El. When season three returns with all-new supercharged adventures this fall on The CW, Kara and team will come up against a new threat in the form of DC Worldkiller, Reign. 4:10–4:50 p.m. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Special Video Presentation and Q&A — After crash landing the Waverider in a version of 2017 Los Angeles where dinosaurs roam the streets and the skyline is adorned with London’s iconic Big Ben clock tower, the Legends were quick to realize that “we broke time.” Last year, the loveable band of misfit heroes traveled throughout the timeline fixing a series of Aberrations. This year, they’ll be turning the crazy up to 11, as a wave of Anachronisms turns History on its head, leaving the Legends responsible for piecing it back together. What is an Anachronism you ask? For the answer to that, and many other questions, join cast members Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Dominic Purcell, Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and producers at their annual Comic-Con panel. (Ballroom 20)
4:15–5:15 p.m. Westworld Panel and Q&A — HBO’s Westworld concluded its critically acclaimed first season in December and is currently saddling up for season two. The series — created, executive produced and written by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy — is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Cast panelists include (in alphabetical order) Ben Barnes as Logan, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal as Armistice, Ed Harris as the Man in Black, Luke Hemsworth as Stubbs, James Marsden as Teddy, Thandie Newton as Maeve, Simon Quarterman as Lee Sizemore, Rodrigo Santoro as Hector, Angela Sarafyan as Clementine, Jimmi Simpson as William, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte Hale, Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores, Shannon Woodward as Elsie and Jeffrey Wright as Bernard/Arnold. The panel will be moderated by internationally renowned vocal artist/beatboxer/musician and comedian Reggie Watts. (Hall H)
4:50–5:10 p.m. Black Lightning Special Video Presentation and Q&A — Black Lightning makes its Comic-Con debut! Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is a man wrestling with a secret. Join series stars Cress Williams, Nafessa Williams, China Anne McClain and Christine Adams, along with executive producers Salim Akil & Mara Brock Akil for an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming series along with an electrifying Q&A session. (Ballroom 20)
5:10–5:50 p.m. The Flash Special Video Presentation and Q&A — Running up against an evil time remnant version of yourself is something no one should ever have to do, but that’s exactly what faced Barry Allen (aka The Flash) as he fought to save the life of fiancée Iris West from the God of Speed known as Savitar. Barry’s victory was short-lived, however, as an unbalanced Speed Force began to wreak havoc on Central City, forcing Barry to sacrifice himself for the greater good. With The Fastest Man Alive now trapped inside an extra-dimensional energy, and unknown dangers lurking in the shadows, it will be up to Team Flash to free Barry from his own personal Hell. Join cast members Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Keiynan Lonsdale and producers of The CW’s highest-rated series at their annual Comic-Con panel, and be among the first to find out where things will pick up when season four returns this fall. (Ballroom 20)
5:50–6:30 p.m. Arrow Special Video Presentation and Q&A — With the future of the team left hanging in the balance, Arrow gave new definition to the phrase “blowing up the show.” The emotional showdown between Oliver Queen and Adrian Chase was the perfect conclusion to a stellar fifth season of The CW’s gritty DC Super Hero series. Now, the focus shifts to uncovering the fate of each and every member of Team Arrow. Could anyone have possibly survived an island-wide explosion, or has the book closed on them, as it has on Oliver’s five-year flashback story? Returning to San Diego Comic-Con for a sixth consecutive year, cast members Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Emily Bett Rickards, Paul Blackthorne, Katie Cassidy, Echo Kellum, Juliana Harkavy, Rick Gonzalez and producers will be on-hand for an eye-opening conversation about the upcoming season. Quote
“There weren’t many moneylenders when I was growing up, but now a lot of farmers are taking loans because today they need money for machines, pesticides and fertilisers,” says Sukhlal Suliya, of Badgaon village (Madhya Pradesh). "We used cow dung, which was good for the soil and didn’t cost us any money. But then the government started advertising urea and pesticides by saying it will give you more crops. Now, 40 years later, these are still used by most farmers and they spend so much on fertilisers and pesticides, which are destroying the soil. And then they sell  in the markets for very little profit, through middlemen, who buy the produce for far less money than what they sell to customers. So farmers make very little money,” he adds, with sadness.
