52% Lena Luthor (Supercorp.) By now, if you know, you know... *I apparently had A LOT of thoughts about the rest of Kara's ships so read under the cut at your own risk*

16% Diana Prince (an inferior ship claimed Superwonder long ago so I don't know what their ship name is.) This works for me in Dark Knights of Steel or primarily in a world where Kara is as old or older than she was on the Supergirl series. They compliment each other very well. Diana is more graceful, whereas Kara is more nerdy. Diana is more knowledgeable about art and history whereas Kara is better with math and science. They both have frustrations with the way humans are on Earth compared to the homes they came from but still believe in them and believe in protecting them. They both have pains associated with them leaving their homes and are fiercely loyal to their new homes and loved ones. They both believe in hope, help and compassion. They're two people who could be immortal and find solace with one another as time goes on. They're also both beautiful and could crush a sequoia between their thighs. If you're not sold on Kara/Diana, please give them a shot and read this...it's so lovely.

12% Sam Arias (Superreign.) For starters, let me address what I believe to be a misconception among Supergirl fans. When Lena stayed with Sam during 3x05 and was seen wearing a National City University sweatshirt, I believe that sweatshirt was Sam's and not Kara's. Lena went to MIT and even though Kara visited Lena at Sam's place, it made more sense to me that Sam provided Lena with one of her sweatshirts than Kara bringing one of Kara's sweatshirts from her own apartment for Lena. Thus the natural conclusion would be that Sam ALSO went to National City University. Do I think this lore implication brought about the sweater was an unintentional byproduct of the production crew having to be conservative with their budget (or maybe just lazy)? Perhaps, but it's what I believe nonetheless. Thus, we could've had Kara and Sam as college classmates, possibly even college girlfriends. I like that idea, especially since Kara and Sam would both go on to have a relationship with Lena, respectively, which would make for that messy, "queer women in a friend group all dating each other/a lot of the same women" rep that was missing from the show. I don't care for it when DC emphasizes Kryptonians having to be with other strong beings as if that hasn't been an issue for Clark and Lois in their many decades together...but if they're gonna do it, why not do it with a "friends to lovers to enemies but only when your evil alter ego takes control of your body?" The CW really rushed the development of their friendship (the way they rushed a lot of things) but the chemistry was there and I think it could've been enhanced later on with them bonding over them both being from Krypton. I think the Reign storyline could've been better and more impactful had Kara dated Sam and was actively trying to save her in a way that the Kara-Rhea-M*n El storyline fell flat. I also really like the two of them together in AU's where Lena is with Alex, it just fits. But most importantly and to put it very simply: they're both very pretty, super strong women that should've boned and maybe leveled a mountain in the process. If you want to give them a chance, admittedly I have some bias in recommending this but I think this is an excellent Kara/Sam fic (warning: contents are spicy), and this short follow up is just neat.

10% Andrea (Superrojas.) Andrea was the perfect amount of snide and bossy towards Kara yet thirsty for her and Supergirl. Kara was the right amount of wanting to believe the best in Andrea even when she challenged and irritated her while also looking at her like she wanted to do unspeakable things to Andrea in her office. It's what I imagine Superc*ts felt about Cat Grant except Andrea was actually hot and they had actual, spicy chemistry. 2% Imra Adreen (Supersaturn.) Listen...I hate the Legion of Superheroes. A few of its members are cool, but I've never liked the Legion as a whole. If DC is going to keep insisting on pairing Kara with one of its members in various media, I'd rather they give Kara a Legionnaire girlfriend. My hatred for M*n El I've made abundantly clear over the years so I'm not going to delve into that again right now. As for Brainy, I have absolutely nothing against the character. However, twice now I've had to watch Kara abandon Clark and the present to go live in the future with a boy she just met and in both instances, it never sat well with me and the episode/movie was terrible overall. More importantly, if we're going to be doing the whole "Kara's cousin falls in love with a family member of a big Superman villain who's nothing like them" trope, Supercorp is far and away the superior option. I love Brainy on the Supergirl show but he and Kara only ever gave off bro vibes on that and he's so much better with Nia than any Brainiac ever was with Kara that I never want to see him paired with anyone else. Back to why I like Imra though. In the comics universe, she's a cool character that I feel isn't used well or enough. I don't think a relationship with Kara would solve all of Imra's underutilization issues but it wouldn't hurt either. I don't have a problem with Kara going to the future; it's her staying there that bothers me. It wouldn't be an endgame but Imra would be one of the better matches for a first relationship for Kara. On the show, she's a cool character, she's very pretty and like most pretty women on the show, she looked at Kara like she wanted to be eaten up by her had good chemistry with Kara. The idea of Kara allowing a telepathic character into her mind during an intimate moment also appeals to me (while some DC media puts an unnecessary, weird amount of emphasis on Kryptonians having to be careful with their sex lives, a telepath being able to reassure Kara's anxieties and tell her "it's okay, you can let go" is a spicy good moment I'd like to read more of. Bonus: M*n El getting Mako-ed in a Korrasami situation (he dates two women who end up dating each other) would've been less than a quarter of what he deserved (no disrespect to Mako.)

2% Kate Kane (Kanvers I believe it's called.) Look...I've never been a fan of Ruby Rose. However, Kara was so freaking gay every time she interacted with Kate. Similar to how Lena should've gotten to bang the hot bartender Peggy in Ireland Newfoundland, Kara should've hooked up with the lesbian superhero she was totally flirting with, whether it was a one night stand during Elseworlds or them seeking a moment of relief among all the grief that was Crisis. If they'd let Kara be bisexual, then maybe she wouldn't have gone the last four seasons of the show without so much as a single kiss. Regardless, I just mentally picture Wallis Day instead of the other actress and it's a fun little ship.

2% Nia Nal (Superdreamer.) This one isn't necessarily about the show, though I do I think they could've been cute on the show IF Nia hadn't started out as Kara's protégé. Mentor-mentee relationships are so not my jam. However, a pairing between two variants of them where they weren't mentor-mentee could've been cool. Their comic book versions both having zipper jackets as part of their outfits also once struck me as an idea for a spicy fic that I'll never write.

2% Sara Lance (Supercanary.) The Danvers/Lance hook up that should've been. 1% Jimmy Olsen (Karolsen.) I do vastly prefer Kara with women but they still deserved better. They weren't my OTP in the first season but they were cute and I had hoped that with more time and development, they would get better the way Barry & Iris did on The Flash. (Important to note: I NEVER shipped Snowbarry (ew), I always liked Iris, I just don't think they had worked out what to do with her and her chemistry with Barry in that first season...it improved so much as time went on.) Unfortunately for Karolsen, that never happened and the show was so much worse for it.

1% Siobahn Smythe (Superbanshee.) Fun for some frenemies with benefits in Season 1 or "they were roommates" in the comics. Honorable mention: Lucy Lane. "Hell, I want to date her" was a biconic moment for Kara but I really liked Kara's other ships more and I prefer Lucy with Alex.

This writer needs no introduction. She's been keeping eyeballs glued to AO3 since the Halcyon days when the show was still good and Alex was still Alex. Behold the origin story of the Sanvers fandom's very own @performativezippers!

Tell us a little about yourself. How did you get started writing fic? Have you written for other fandoms? What are your favorite tropes? I've talked about this before, but I found fic because of research I was doing in grad school. I was studying a fan advocacy group about queer representation on Glee (bleak times!) but the group folded before I had everything I needed. I had to produce a publishable paper by the end of the semester, and fanfic was the closest pivot I could make to use the research I'd already done. So I started studying Glee fanfic, and went down a rabbit hole of canon vs noncanon representation in fanfic and what that means for queer imaginations, basically (one of my papers was called "Faberry is Love, Pass it On," and another was "Write Your Own God Damned Stories," good fucking times). And then later I was like...you know what, there's a formula to successful fanfics, and now that I know it, could I do it? What if I wrote something as a test? And oops that was in like 2013!

I originally wrote for Rizzoli and Isles, then for Sanvers, now also for Kacy (ncis hawaii).

In terms of tropes, I'm a sucker for a good friends-to-lovers slow burn arc. That's *chef's kiss* when it's done just right. What were your inspirations for this particular story? What was it about this/these ships that grabbed you?

Not to remind people of The Wars, but if you don't mind remembering, back when Sanvers was broken up (I'M SORRY), they said it was because Alex wanted a kid. Now, I thought that was stupid, because lord knows I fucking love Alexandra Danvers with all my heart but she was definitely not a parent of the year candidate in any way. I don't remember how it happened, but to get through our pain, some of us were joking about like, "just give her a dog and dress it up like a baby" and then I was thinking, "hmm, Alex would probably want like, a big ass predator for a child" and then somehow, probably in a fever dream, it became Make Alex's Child a Velociraptor. So it's actually a direct response to canon, which is weird because it's about a dinosaur and also Kara isn't in it, but there you have it.

This ship (Sanvers) grabbed me in a chokehold from day one. I had started watching Supergirl in season one because I like superhero stuff and I like ladies, and I crushed on Alex hard from the beginning. And then Maggie showed up for season two, and it was...fucking magic. I didn't know what was going to happen, I wasn't on the spoiler internet yet, so I watched it with baited breath. So often when you see two women characters with that kind of chemistry, you're screaming at the TV "YOU GUYS, THAT'S GAY" but it never happens. And this time it did. I yelled, "Alex, that's gay," and Maggie said, "Damn Alex, that's pretty gay," and then Alex said, "Fuck, you guys, I'm gay" and then THEY KISSED. I couldn't believe it.

And Alex's coming out speech was the most me-like thing I had ever seen on television, hands down. Has the time spent away from your story changed your outlook or approach to any of the storylines or themes? Have you had any new inspirations or breakthroughs/revelations in the meantime?

I'm a much better writer than I was when I started this fic. I've learned so much, from line-level work to how to write a plot and everything between. I still really love the worldbuilding I did originally, and the character of Gertrude the Dinosaur, and most of the large-scale choices I made for the ship and the tension. What's interesting about this fic is that it's the only thing I ever outlined, and it's the only thing I never finished. Not a coincidence! If I know what's happening, I get both bored and confined, and it doesn't work for me. The trick was to wait so long that I straight up forgot what was in the outline. I literally haven't reopened that word document, and I won't until my draft is finished. Maybe I'll find some gems in there that I want to work in, but I learned my lesson! No outlines! No thinking too far ahead!! That way lies madness (and unfinished fics). Any advice for new or aspiring fic writers?

Write what you want to read. Honestly, that's it. When I'm sad, I read my own stuff. When I want to be delighted, I read my own stuff. It's really easy to get hung up on what other people say or want to see, how many comments or kudos you get (I'm very guilty of this!) but ultimately, write something that, when you want comfort, you can read and go, "oh yeah, that's the good shit right there." Maybe that's fluff, maybe smut, maybe 100k of bloody torture--doesn't matter. Write what you want to read.

(But please, for the love of lesbian jesus, my actual advice is to put the dialogue tag on the same line as the dialogue. Please!) If you were going to promote this fic with a single line, what would it be?

Alex's child doesn't like Maggie, which is difficult because Alex is in love with Maggie and also the child is a velociraptor. If you’ve already posted some of your work, please provide a link.

I vaguely remember something along the lines of Lena seemingly dead because Alex had pushed the button to fire up Cadmus 3(?). Supergirl searching said area but brainy says there are no signs of life. She continues to search but is too scared to even find Lena dead. So she flies up into space and destroys the satellite that Alex fired up. When she flies up to space the suit Lena made enveloped her and Kara was too sad to even save herself so she lets herself fall. She then goes on a rampage. And pretty much destroys the DEO and thats how far i was able to read until i lost it!!!! ))): please help

"There was a post here on tumblr with the link to this fic and a fan art of supergirl wearing the suit that Lena made her and she was falling. It was like three different panels? One was her holding the mask and then her letting it go. And the post was that fan art and basically saying that that was inspired by the fic im looking for."

Re: Lena as reasonable conservatism - One of the most ironic things I thought the show did where they did Lena dirty (again) was when they used her as the conservative mouthpiece/foil for James’ view on gun control, where they had this one-off apples to oranges commentary with no context or nuance at all (James is railing about military grade weapons; Lena has had actual assassination attempts leveled against her and has a revolver; ofc no one ever asks Alien Gun Enthusiast Alex Danvers for any opinions because this is all about Making Lena Different). But in the same story arc, the Superfriends frame any concerns or fears about aliens with powers as purely a civil rights issue when realistically it’s an issue that has some nuances that would be similar to gun control (but the position of Lena and the Superfriends is reversed - Lena would be the one advocating for reasonable control.) And it gets worse in S6 - LBH, if your problem is potential harm to innocent bystanders, there are lots of reasons why, say, a foster home handling a lot of alien children with unpredictable powers (like one who can just mimic whoever is around them?!) might want to legitimately employ power dampeners.

It makes everything feel a little extra hypocritical and as much as the fandom discussions are so much better than the show handled it, it’s kind of interesting in fandom to watch how quite a few fans really do act like Lena having kryptonite or developing an alien detection device or whatever else is somehow the same as being a TERF or a racist? I’ve noticed it a lot in the comments on a lot of fics where Lena does feel like she’s being written as a reasonable voice of humanity, as though Lena being worried about rogue Kryptonians is somehow the same as discriminating against someone for being queer or BIPOC, and I kind of wonder how people are internalising these analogies. I was super curious to hear your views on it because I was pretty late to the fandom and your fic (Making Waves I think? Where Superman injures Lena by accident, and for a while Lena is a bit jumpy around Kara) was one of the first I read that was really willing to kind of get into some of that nuance, and it was really interesting to see. Thanks for sharing all your thoughts and sorry for the super long ask!

I think the main thing is that the show never really differentiated Supergirl from the other aliens on Earth, either in terms of identity or ability. Supergirl caused danger and wreckage, while the average alien doesn't have lots of abilities or invulnerability-- they're just trying to make a life on earth. So obviously the detection device was no bueno, because it asserted that ALL aliens deserve to be discriminated against. But there was no argument that addresses Supergirl specifically, as a target for trouble and a significantly overpowered vigilante.

But then again, SHOULD Supergirl be singled out of the many? Or should she simply be bound by the same laws and regulations every other alien needs to abide by? Because she never was that either. She acted extra-judicially, and never really faced any legal lashback for any of her actions.

Idk, there's a lot to explore.

Hey there! thanks for the ask :) and yeah below are some Supergirl thoughts!

Favorite character: ooh this changed from season to season, but I almost want to say Astra?? In part because there's a lot that was left open about her story, and she feels delightfully complex

Least Favorite character: Whoever that awful season-long villain they were introducing and trying to make vaguely sympathetic in S4 (around when I stopped watching)

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): supercat, general danvers, sanvers, director sanvers, and my favorite ship who I'll probably never write a primary ship fic about Winn/James

Character I find most attractive: oh man so many of them tbh haha we'll say Astra again (can you tell I've been rewatching S1?)

Character I would marry: Kara

Character I would be best friends with: I like to think Cat and I could get along great haha but honestly Winn

An unpopular opinion: jafkldjf I gave too many of those while the show was still on!

My Non-canon OTP: Supercat

Most Badass Character: oh all of them are in their own way but I'll go with Cat (bc holy shit it takes a lot to put yourself out there with such a target on your back as a very tiny, fragile human)

Most Epic Villain: Max Lord. Because he felt realistically evil in the kind of "yeah I could run into this guy he doesn't only exist in a DC universe)

Pairing I am not a fan of: Kara/Mon-el (honestly, I kind of liked him before we got his backstory and could have imagined a really sweet enemies to friends arc when it felt like Kara was getting to mentor him in the way she was supposed to mentor Kal-el and finding a lot of value there despite the Daxam/Krypton rivalry)

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): ALMOST ALL OF THEM?! Even the characters they didn't screw up, they so often sidelined in favor of their own personal favorites :/

Favourite Friendship: Alex and Kara <3

Character I most identify with: Cat in everything but the wealth and high levels of professional success haha

Character I wish I could be: I wish I could have some of Kara's persistent belief in the goodness of the world despite seeing the absolute worst of it

Mein A/B/O-Arrowverse-AU-Verse:

Diese Serie von mir rekonstruiert das gesammte Arrowverse in einem Alpha/Beta/Omega-Setting. Sie geht gegen Ende der 6. Staffel von "Arrow", der 4. von "The Flash" sowie der jeweils 3. von "Legends of Tomorrow" und "Supergirl" zunehmend AU. "Batwoman" ist inkludiert, allerdings nur die erste Staffel und da auch schon von Anfang sehr anders als im Canon.

Diese Fics wurden zwischen 2017 und 2019 geschrieben, wobei die eigentliche Hauptstory zwischen 2017 und 2018 entstand. Spätere Einträge spielen zwischen den Ereignissen der vorher geposteten Fics. Prinzipiell geht dieses Verse mit dem Ende der 2017/18er Seasons vollkommen AU, daher werden später eingeführte Ereignisse, Charaktere und Ships nur am Rande benahdelt und eingebaut, und in diesen Fic finden sich nur Dinge die vor „Crisis on Infinite Earths“ passiert sind.

Prinzipiell bin ich der Meinung, dass es heute trotzdem noch gut stand hält, wobei der auffälligste Unterschied zum Canon die Tatsache ist, dass fast alles geschrieben wurde bevor Nia aktive Kräfte für den Kampfeinsatz besaß, weswegen sie im Kampf die gleichen Kräfte wie Dream Girl in den Comics verwendet und nicht ihre Canon-Traum-Energie Strahlen und Peitschen. Und natürlich sind die End-Game Pairings andere.

Inzwischen noch witziger ist was alles in meinem Fics passiert ist, bevor es im Canon ebenfalls passiert ist (wie etwa, das Clois-Baby, dass Lena Lex erschießt, Johns Lungenkrebs Storyline, dass Eddie zurückkommt, der Ausflug in die Speed Force während er großen Krise etc) und wie anders manches bei mir ist was der Canon absolut vergessen hat mir aber doch wichtig erschienen ist.

Chronologisch gesehen beginnen wir mit der Kindheit verschiedenster Charaktere und enden mit einer Szene im Jahr 1992, die alles abschließt. Handlungstechnisch enden wir aber im Jahr 2028.

Im Gegensatz zum Canon kriegen hier alle Serien - „Arrow“, „The Flash“, „Supergirl“, „Legends of Tomorrow“ und irgendwie sogar „Batwoman“ - ein Ende und jeder Charakter bekommt eine mehr oder weniger zu Ende erzählte Geschichte. Obwohl die letzte Fic das Ende von „Legends of Tomorrow“ darstellt, gibt es darin trotzdem Gastauftritte von diversen anderen Charakteren, die auf Erde-1 leben (es gibt keine Erdverchmelzung in meiner Version), und wir lernen etwa das zweite West-Allen-Triaden-Kind kennen, weil ich ja im Gegensatz zu Eric Wallace der Meinung bin, dass eine Franchise auch also solche beendet werden sollte.

Da dieses Universum zur Zeit der 2. Staffel von „Legends of Tomorrow“ und „Supergirl“ begonnen hat, sind die Endgame-Pairings entsprechend. Manche Fans werden hier also nicht glücklich werden, aber immerhin gibt es hier im Gegensatz zum Canon ein Ende für alle. Und auch wenn es manche Charaktere aus späteren Staffeln nicht gibt, gibt es trotzdem Happy Ends für andere. So findet Ava letztlich mit Caitlin ihr Glück, Nora wird als Single glücklich etc.

Charaktere, die tot geblieben sind, sind hier zurück gekommen, Charaktere, die im Canon zurück gekommen sind, blieben hier tot, aber am Ende würde ich sagen, dass dieses Universum für mich selbst die befriedigendere Version des Arrowversums war, als der Canon, alleine eben deswegen weil es hier ein Ende für alle gibt und viele der problemtatischen Dinge Post-Crisis nie passiert sind und daher nie zum Problem wurden.

Hello! First of all, Happy Pride Month! Hope you and your loved ones are happy and safe ♡.

I wanted to share with you a song meets fic revelation I had a few days ago. Lol.

Recently I've taken the habit when scrolling on titkok of writing down a song that catches my attention to download later.

Such is the case for "Dive Into You" by Loving Calliber.

And let me tell you the moment I looked up the lyrics of the song a voice in my head screamed

A College AU and One Night Stand AU and an "awkward I keep seeing you everywhere after we hook up and you're living in my mind rent free without caring for the safety of my forehead or bathroom tiles with how often I bang my head on them." Alex dilemma.

I know I'll write this sometime in the future myself, but I wanted to share it with other writers of the fandom, see if they saw the same potential of "song meets fic" and decide they want to do it as well. :)

a) A quick introduction to Astra

Astra In-Ze was a Kryptonian general, the twin sister of Kara's mother Alura and thus Kara's aunt. She was put in prison for eco terrorism and together with the other inmates of in Fort Rozz was one of the few survivors of Krypton's destruction. As a Kryptonian on Earth she has similar powers and weaknesses as Supergirl.

On the show Astra only appears in season 1, in which the was one of the main antagonists. Astra is an original character created for the show, who did not appear in DC comics before.

Astra was a fascinating character and one of the highlights of season 1. It was sad that Astra never got a redemption arc, but considering the quality of the show's writing, it is hard to imagine that it would have been satisfying anyway. Aw well, this is what fanfiction is for, and there are indeed several fics with redemption arcs for Astra.

Astra/Alex Danvers (GeneralDanvers)

This was the first pair I shipped in Supergirl and the one that made me fall in love with the show and the fandom.

When I watched the first scene Alex and Astra had together I thought wow, this is kinda gay and a lot of subtest. I wonder if they will ever do anything with it. Of course, they didn't.

But looking at AO3, I realized that I was by far not the only one who saw the potential for this ship. Unsurprising considering the source material, there is a lot of potential for angsty and darker fics, but there are also a few lighter AUs.

Sansa gets tested on her 18th birthday. She is matched with Margaery but is in denial that she might be gay.

I loved this soulmate take. They don't just meet and fall in love, but eventually there is a happy ending. Highly recommended.

a) A quick introduction to Andrea

Andrea Rojas joined Supergirl in Season 5, when (a heartbroken) Lean, who felt betrayed by Kara, sold CatCo Media on to her friend Andrea, who is also the CEO of Obsidian Tech.

Andrea has a secret identity and powers as Acrata and appeared in several DC comics and shows before, but her backstory and character were heavily tweaked for the Supergirl TV show.

To be hones I did not watch enough of Season 5 to really understand the plot and background around Leviathan and the medallion that is linked to Andrea's powers (and from what I have seen of the show this might not have made all that much sense away...) What is important to know (and is often referenced in fic) is that to get the medallion, Andrea needed to betray Lena (and break her heart).

While at first it seemed that Andrea was just another shitty boss for Kara at CatCo, she turned out to be a fascinating character with a lot of shipping potential.

I read somewhere that Andre was so high maintenance that she might as well be a Maserati and obviously this is the car she drives in several of the stories.

Lena Luthor/Andrea Rojas (RojasCorp)

In canon Lena and Andrea are former best friends but many fans interpret their history as ex-lovers. Andrea and Lena definitely have history (some of which is explored in the show) and a lot of chemistry. While shipping Andrea with Lena an obvious shipping choice, this is a relatively rare pair, especially considering that there are few long fics and in a large part of the fics in the AO3 ship tag RojasCorp is not the actual or main ship.

a review: queer content i’ve consumed on the way to acceptance

1. How to get away with murder: the very first. the one that started it all. i reccommend, but also i watched this during covid when i was in HS and really all my brain took away was ‘if you no like that u gay --> you end up sad and depressed and given up and gloomy like annalise without eve’ so.

2. Killing Eve: it was ok. obsessed at the time but looking back, i don’t even remember. probably cus: too much tv during the dark days (quarantine)

Edit: ok I came back to rewatch jt and I must say. My memory lied it was AMAZNG. it had everything I wanted; enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, a focus on the wlw ship… I just think Sandra Oh could’ve been written better/given more screen time it’s a little annoying how, once again, she was overshadowed by her white co-star.

3. The 100: clexa. obssessed always. will never lose the AO3 addiction for the rest of my life. love azgeda!clarke and general!clarke fics in particular. send them my way. also in my unhinged way, i’ve probably read everything there is on Ao3. or i will eventually.

4. Person of Interest: Shaw and Root <3

5. Motherland: Fort Salem. just finished this afternoon. loved so many things. almost got outed watching it. because Raelle and Scylla. lots of thoughts but no time. Later.

6. Supergirl. All i will say is Alex Danvers. Do i want to be her or fuck her? We will never know. But Agentcorp, I am a fan.

7. Captain Marvel. Carol and Maria. I look forward to more angsty fics. I’m holding back from watching the sequel because I just know it’s gonna destroy me if they go the ‘carol fucked off never to come back and now Maria is dead and her kid has powers’ route which is what I’ve heard they did so.

8. The Wilds. Just. where are all the fics????????

9. Station 19: Haven’t watched it. Not gonna. Just binged all their scenes together. Not really a fan of Maya, but i disgress. gay is gay.

10. Legends of Tomorrow: Yes. Avalance. gonna miss it.

11. Black Panther: I really thought Shuri and Riri were gonna happen. but ok. also, i want to be riri. her garage = who i thought i’d become when i got into engineering.

Supercorptober 2022 Day 12: Evening

The lovely @sheltereredturtle and I decided to collaborate on this prompt so she drew this wonderful piece of art and I wrote a fic based on it.

Lena keeps glancing at her phone, not that Kara blames her, she’s nervous too.

“Darling, it’s going to be fine,” Kara says, reaching across the table to lay her hand over Lena’s, where it was halfway to checking her phone again.

“But-“

“You know Alex will call if she needs anything,” Kara cuts in.

Lena sighs. “I’m sorry, I know.” She flips her hand under Kara’s, tangles their fingers together. “No more worrying, okay?”

They both know that Alex has got everything under control, and it’s not like they don’t know how Alex is doing, she’s sending them updates every half an hour. The last update was that Alex was about to give Lizzie a bath, and the update before was a photo of their daughter, covered in food, clearly enjoying dinner.

Kara smiles. “No more worrying, let’s just enjoy the fact that there’s no crying baby that needs our attention.”

Kara loves their daughter more than anything, but it is nice to have a night out where they can relax, and not have to worry about anything.

Or worry too much, that is.

“Do you want to go and get ice-cream?”

“We’ve just had dessert, and you want ice-cream?” Kara asks.

And it wasn’t just any dessert, they’d had dinner at Kara’s favourite diner because they both wanted a low-key night, so they’d had burgers for dinner, followed by the biggest chocolate sundae you can get in the city (Kara knows, she’s checked).

“Are you, Kara Danvers-Luthor, questioning getting ice-cream?” Lena reaches out, lays the back of her hand against Kara’s forehead. “Are you okay?”

Kara swats the hand away, but catches it before it can fall, threading her fingers through Lena’s.

“I’m not saying I don’t want ice-cream, I just thought you’d want to get home to see Lizzie.”

“I do. But this is our first evening out since she was born, and I’m enjoying spending the alone time with my wife.”

Kara lifts their joined hands, presses a kiss to the back of Lena’s. “I’m not going to argue with that.”

Lena gets strawberry, which Kara doesn’t understand, why would you get a fruit-flavoured ice cream when chocolate is right there?

Which is why, when Kara asks for a taste of Lena’s, Lena looks confused. But she says yes, because she can never say no to Kara.

Lena holds out her ice cream, but Kara bypasses it completely, instead, leaning over to press her mouth to Lena’s.

Lena laughs into the kiss, she tastes like strawberry and she’s warm and it’s perfect.

“I’m still not a fan of strawberry but I am a fan of this,” Kara says, going in for another quick kiss.

Or it was meant to be quick, but then Lena leans close and Kara is hopeless to do anything but kiss her back.

“If you drop your ice cream, I’m not buying you another,” Lena mumbles into the kiss, and it’s enough to get Kara to finally pull away, only because her ice cream really is good.

By the time they make their way to the waterfront, their ice creams are gone and Alex has sent them a text saying she’s going to bed but they should stay out as late as they want.

“Can we walk home?” Lena asks. “I know we’re too old and have to be up too early tomorrow to stay out that late but I’m still not quite ready for tonight to end just yet.”

They’re quite far from home and Kara’s sure she’ll end up carrying Lena on her back if they do walk home, because she’ll be tired, but Kara’s still not going to say no to that.

Lena looks gorgeous, illuminated by the street lights as they walk, and it really has been too long since the two of them have had a date night. Kara is going to make sure they have nights like this more often, she knows her sister won’t mind babysitting and Kara really does miss just spending time with her wife.

“What are you looking at?”

Evidentially, Lena’s noticed the staring.

“You. You’re beautiful.”

Lena blushes under the compliment and it only makes Kara smile more.

“And you’re still a flirt.”

Kara tugs Lena to a stop by their still joined hands. “When I have the most beautiful wife in the world, how can you expect me not to stare?”

Lena doesn’t answer, instead she just tugs Kara forward and kisses her. This time, Lena doesn’t taste like strawberries, but there’s no ice cream in their hands restricting them so Kara pulls Lena close by her waist instead.

It’s the perfect end to a perfect night and Kara is already planning the next date night, but next time she’ll buy Lena flowers and take her to a nice restaurant and spoil her, like she deserves.

(Kara does have to piggyback Lena the last few blocks to their apartment. And then she carries her on the elevator and up to their apartment too, just because Lena keeps giggling in her ear and Kara doesn’t want it to end.

They both sneak into their daughter’s bedroom when they get home just to see her and say goodnight. Kara wraps her arms around Lena’s waist and rests her chin on Lena’s shoulder as they watch their daughter sleep.

Kara’s never been happier).
