@brainrotdotorg posted her new designs so here's some silly sketches with different beasties hanging out. For the extra characters: The Logic is mine, the EC and Half Light are Alex's, and both Volitions make an appearance.

The second image shows two Empathy designs together. There is a sketch of them wrapped together in an embrace and a comic explaining how their sensitivity works. In the comic they're wrapped together and feeling fear from Half Light before Electrochemistry interrupts and makes them consider other feelings. The dialogue reads: Offscreen Volition: "Come on, you're passing your fear onto Empathy." Half Light: "They asked! Not me!" The Empathys are clutching each other in the background while Electrochemistry looks on. In the next panel Electrochemistry taps on Empathy's shoulder and says: Electrochemistry: "You more sensitive than my Empathy?" Smaller Empathy: "Oh, no we're more sensitive together. Feedback loop." Electrochemistry: "So if you felt what I was feeling it'd get more and more intense?" Bigger Empathy: "Yes, but why-" The two Empathys look at each other and go silent. Electrochemistry starts walking away with the text "Their work here is done" written beside them.

The third image shows two Physical Instruments together. There are sketches of them copying the 'I found you, faker!' Sonic meme, having a staring contest, and asking another skill who's hotter. The dialogue for the Sonic meme reads: My Physical Instrument: "I found you, faker!" Alex's Physical Instrument: "Ha! You're not even good enough to be my fake!" The dialogue for the staring contest reads: Offscreen Volition: "What are they doing?" Offscreen Logic: "Staring contest" Volition: "... How can they tell who wins?" Logic: "They can't." The 'who's hotter' sketch reads: Alex's PI: "Chem!" My PI: "Which of us is hotter? Your PI thinks it's him." Alex's PI: "Well? Who is it?" My PI: "Chem?" “What are you planning on doing, exactly?” “Whatever comes to me. I won’t know what the jobs are until they find me.” “You want to be a... Private eye?” “Private investigator. But yes.”

Four years in Afghanistan ended in a medical discharge, and then Jay was back home, struggling to get his feet under him. There were nightmares and too many drinks to swim though, a funeral to help plan and then attend, and then the argument that ended in him being less than welcome at his childhood home. Getting his PI license was just supposed to be a stopgap, something to supplement a living until he found something more steady, but it wasn’t enough.

It didn’t cover a rent payment, or a car, it barely even paid for groceries once a week. It wasn’t enough to keep him alive, let alone off the streets, and it was only by some miracle that he wasn’t completely screwed over when things started to crumble.

He had a set of shoulders to lean on in the form of Gregory Gerwitz IV - aka Mouse. They’d relied on each other enough overseas, clung to life together after an incident that took out the rest of their unit, managed to keep in touch once they were settled into their old lives in Chicago again. Only, where Jay had had an argument with his father that led to fending for himself, Mouse had a lot of cushion to catch him if he fell. He had a family name, and a huge trust fund, and a penthouse with an extra bedroom that he was willing to let Jay use for a few months.

“You’re a lifesaver, man. Seriously, thank you.” “You don’t have to thank me. Just don’t track dirt in, okay? The rent comes out of my father’s pocket, but cleaning comes out of mine.” “What if I clean up after myself?” “I’d make a few calls to let the media know. You’ve never cleaned up anything in your life.”

Borrowing a bedroom was only the beginning. Among other things, Jay had access to free food, a shiny car, and his best friend’s computer knowledge. He lost count of how many cases were solved due to Mouse and his laptop, how many bullet holes had ended up in the Ferrari, how many times he’d been scolded for leaving crime scene photos spread out over the living room floor...

But that had become his life, as odd as it seemed. He bounced from case to case, used his meager earnings to pay for dinner once a month or fixing the paint job on the car he’d been told to stop borrowing for his work. He spent weekends on the couch watching movies and making a show of vacuuming the crumbs out of the cushions. He spent birthdays and special events in a suit and tie, pretending he could do undercover work at Gerwitz family hosted fundraiser events.

It was his life, with his best friend there for every second of it, and he wouldn’t change a thing.

Character art update!

Penny got a new outfit

Honestly it's not bad I like the red hat. And compared to the other ones Penny looks like she got a lot more care put into her pose and expression. I think Garry Locke might like drawing her.

This applies to almost all of Garry Locke's art but I can't get on board with the head to shoulder ratio here. Also something about Zoey's expression is off putting in particular her mouth.

This Harlow looks like he just got caught committing a crime.

This Isaac looks like a combo of a precious moments character and a kitten.

I'm also not on board for the make everything look shiny aspect of the style and Grady is practically iridescent. He's got shampoo commercial levels of hair shine. Also his canonical eye color is green. I don't think fanart needs to/should be cannon compliant because everyone having at least slightly different picture of the AiO characters is absolutely beautiful and a strength of the medium. However, if we're paying someone to make more Offical art, it should be based off the descriptions from the actual show and not previous art.

Trent is also very shiny. Not quite what I have in my head but if his head fit him right I wouldn't have a problem with it.

They edited Alex's face and I agree that it is an improvement. If I'm remembering correctly this one has a better grasp of the angle he is being drawn at.

It is technically a perfectly serviceable Mr. Charles but it also makes me laugh every time I look at him.
