Alex is trained in one of Brazil's most famous cultural arts, a fight/dance called "Capoeira". He learned this as a child and is proud to carry this trait of the country's culture with him.

Apresentada originalmente no 13º Festival (2001), Coverman sinalizava a aproximação do evento das artes visuais e da transdisciplinaridade. A obra de Alexandre da Cunha foi a primeira performance do Festival a acontecer no espaço expositivo, e remetia ao universo de Lygia Clark ao explorar a vulnerabilidade do corpo, a ideia  de cura e todo um repertório de gestos de primeiros-socorros. Aqui, o artista relê a performance à luz do tempo transcorrido, e com protagonistas múltiplos. A obra foi comissionada pela Associação Cultural Videobrasil.

Escultor e performer, integra a linguagem de vídeo em sua obra. Estudou belas artes e escultura em Londres. Abordando os mais diversos temas, incorporou em seus últimos trabalhos humor, materiais e recursos tecnológicos muito simples. Já integrou mostras coletivas e, individualmente, expôs em Londres, no Rio de Janeiro e em Belo Horizonte. Estuda e trabalha desde 1998 em Londres. Participou da 50ª Bienal de Veneza na exposição The Structure of Survival, 2003. Vive e trabalha em Londres.
