a/n: another little focus on dad drei! no worries, we’re moving on to some smut and the early years of the relationship with the next few fics lol. hahah i literally did not think this would be done today but work was quiet so i got to write and post and be the superstitious bitch that i am. so here we go, posting right before i watch the isles/caps game (on tv this time). i love love love the headcanon prompts and i will 100% be getting to all of them at some point, so be on the lookout 🥰
word count: 2.3k
tw: nothing really, a little innuendo
summary: andrei took care of all four kids while you were out and you come home to delightful chaos
“Hey, Nykki, I’m at the door, I have to go,” you wedge your phone in between your shoulder and cheek and juggle your bags. “I hope D’s awake because my boobs are ready to explode.”
Your friend laughs on the other end of the line, “oh my god, better get inside then. I’ll talk to you later about coordinating the kids for game day this week.”
“Perfect! I know I said I wasn’t going to, but I’ll probably bring D along, like it’s just easier to strap him to my chest and go,” you shrug as you push the front door open. “Fourth kid problems, just have to come along everywhere. Thank god he sleeps anywhere.”
Nykki wishes her own youngest would sleep anywhere and says good-bye, promising to text later about the plans. You slide your phone into the back pocket of your jeans and step inside the house, immediately hit with the soundtrack to The Little Mermaid. The movie is blaring, echoing around the house. You set your bags on the floor and kick off your sneakers and pad into the den, the source of the movie’s noise.
The movie’s playing on the big screen TV, Ariel singing about wanting to be where the people are, and your husband and kids are sitting on the floor in the middle of the room. You giggle, muffling the noise behind your hand, when you get a good look at Andrei and the kids. The girls are in full princess regalia - Evie as Sleeping Beauty, Alina as Belle, and Kira as Rapunzel - the costume dresses swishing around as they move. Andrei has two pairs of fairy wings strapped to his back, the elastic armholes stretched to their limits. Dimitri is in his arms, draped face down over one of Andrei’s forearms, his little cheek squished to the side against the crook of Andrei’s elbow. You can see that the three-month-old is awake, watching his crazy big sisters dance around.
“Looks like I missed quite the party,” you tease, drawing four pairs of eyes to you. Andrei grins and you can’t stop the laughter that escapes when you see the smears of kid make-up all over his face. There are butterfly clips in his hair, holding back the overgrown strands in a haphazard style.
“Mommy!” Three little voices combine into one as they rush you, hugging at your legs.
“Hi, my little loves,” you lift Kira onto your hip and kiss the two older girls on top of their heads. “Did you have fun with Daddy?”
“Daddy’s pretty,” Kira chips, smiling widely. Andrei laughs, adjusting Dimitri in his arms.
You smile a crinkle-eyed smile at Kira and agree, “Daddy’s really pretty.”
Evie pipes up, “he came to the salon today and got the works!” You smother a laugh because where did she even hear that?
“He needs to look pretty because he’s got a date tonight,” Alina chimes in and you lift an eyebrow at your husband and kids.
“Oh, a big date, huh?” You tease. “She must be someone special, for you to go to the salon for the works.”
Andrei nods, the glittery eyeshadow smeared across the top half of his face catching the light, “the most special. She’s the love of my life.”
Your stomach flutters with butterflies, still affected by this man after all these years. Just when you think you can’t love him more, you come home to this sight, Andrei with your babies surrounding him and being the best dad in the world. Tears well up in your eyes and you wonder if the postpartum hormones are still wreaking havoc. You wipe at your eyes with the side of your index finger and grin. “Well,” you pause, still emotional, “I think she’s just going to love what your stylists have done.”
“Mommy,” Evie whispers, looking at you like she feels bad that you’re so dumb, “Daddy’s date is you!”
“Oh!” You fake gasp, making Kira giggle. “Really? You guys got Daddy all fancied up for me?”
Alina cracks up, dancing around the couch cushions that have somehow ended up on the floor. “Daddy says that he’s takin’ you to dinner tonight and me an’ Evie said we needed to make him pretty ‘cause you get pretty before dinner. I did his yipstick!”
You love the way she mispronounces words and have basically forbidden anyone from correcting her. “I love his yipstick,” you tell her seriously. The hot pink smudged all around his lips is probably going to stain his face and beard, but he puckers his lips at you, making kissing noises.
“Tell Mommy that she should kiss me,” Andrei says. “I’ll share the yipstick with her.”
Alina’s mispronunciation in his accent makes you laugh and the girls tug at your hands, chanting “kiss Daddy! Kiss Daddy!” Unable to resist your kids and the prospect of an Andrei kiss, you lean down, holding Kira with one arm and cupping Andrei’s cheek with the other hand so you can kiss him chastely. One of his hands reaches out to curl around your thigh, squeezing gently. He laughs when you pull back, “hot pink is your color.”
“Mommy’s pretty now!” Kira giggles, patting your cheek. You press a smacking kiss to her cheek, blowing a little raspberry and she shrieks with laughter. There’s a hot pink smudge on her cheek now too.
Andrei looks between you and Kira and his eyes twinkle with mischief. “I think that Ev and Alya need some yipstick too,” he says and reaches out with his free hand to pull Evie in close. He kisses her cheeks and forehead, making her laugh, and getting kiss marks on her skin.
You do the same to Alina, who struggles and fights like she’s fighting for her life. Her laughter is the only sign that she’s enjoying the kiss attack. “No, Mommy! No more kisses!” She wiggles away from you, grinning her little gap-toothed smile. You love that little smile.
Dimitri babbles in Andrei’s arms and you feel bad because you had almost forgotten about him while you were teasing Andrei - that seems to be a negative of being the fourth kid. But now that he’s made his presence known, your overly-full boobs ache a little and you remember exactly what you needed to do when you came inside, before you were distracted by Andrei’s makeover. You settle Kira on the couch and she immediately slides off to run after her big sisters where they’re performing a little show in front of the TV, giving you and Andrei a minute to breathe.
“Give me my baby,” you say. Andrei hands him over and gets to his feet, shaking out the arm that Dimitri had been resting on. He struggles to get his arms out of the fairy wings, getting tangled in the two pairs for a second before finally freeing himself. He folds them carefully and sets the costume pieces on the couch. You cuddle the baby close and shift him to one arm so you can pull down the neck of your shoulder and pop one boob out of the top of your bra. Once Dimitri is comfortably latched, you head for the kitchen, needing just a little privacy because the girls are way too honest with what they see around the house. You’re not really looking for a commentary on your pancake boobs right now.
“Feeling a little more steady?” Andrei asks quietly, kissing the top of your head when you sit down on one of the counter stools. He moves around the kitchen easily, making you a turkey and cheese sandwich as you talk.
“Mhm,” you hum, watching him move. After an overwhelming few days with Andrei on the road, he’d noticed that you were short-tempered this morning and ushered you out the door, reassuring you that he would handle the kids for a few hours while you did whatever you wanted. “I needed to get out of the house without eight little hands attached to me.” You chuckle a little, but the sensation of being touched out is definitely a real thing.
“Good,” he says, licking the mustard off the butter knife when he’s done with it. You hate that habit of his - one day he’s going to slice his tongue off and then where will you both be? “You look calmer.”
You shrug a bit. “Looks like you had everything handled,” you say and it’s not even a tease, because the house has definitely looked worse when it’s just you and the kids.
Andrei sets the sandwich in front of you and you take a huge bite, starving. “I ran them around outside for a bit,” he says. “The play set got a lot of use and Alina tried to swing herself to the moon. Dimka was getting cranky out in the cold though, so we came inside, had some lunch. The girls wanted to watch a movie and Evie wanted me to paint her nails. Which turned into this,” he grins, gesturing vaguely at his face and hair with one hand.
“I really like that,” you reply, waving your free hand in front of his face in the same vague gesture. “And what’s that I heard about taking Mommy on a date, Mister Svechnikov?”
His eyes twinkle dangerously and he leans forward, palms flat on the counter, veins in his forearms bulging. The glittery makeup and hair clips really should ruin the image, but only add to his appeal. “Daddy,” his voice deepens and grows raspy, “wants to take care of Mommy and show her how much he appreciates everything she does for the family.”
Your thighs clench together instinctively, a rush of warmth filling your body. Your cheeks heat up and you chew on your lower lip. “I like the sound of that,” you whisper, casting a glance over your shoulder at the girls. They’re totally absorbed in the movie, little mouths hanging open and eyes wide and focused.
Andrei smirks at you, cradling your jaw in one hand and titling your chin up so he can lean down and kiss you. His tongue swipes over your bottom lip and your mouth falls open for him. His thumb and index finger tighten around your chin gently and you squirm in your seat, letting out a soft gasp. Dimitri stabs at your chest with those sharp baby fingernails and you yelp, pulling back. “Ow,” you grumble, squinting down at the baby. It’s not like he was getting squished in between the two of you.
“Spoilsport,” Andrei jokes, brushing the tip of his finger over the slope of the baby’s nose. Dimitri wrinkles his nose and his mouth falls off your breast with a little pop. “Whoops,” Andrei winces and you quickly shuffle around, switching him to the other boob before he can start to cry.
“Crisis averted,” you sigh at the relief of the baby eating. Your breasts already feel less achy. “So, where are we going on this date?”
Andrei helps you get your other breast back in your bra, taking an extra few seconds to fondle you, your sensitive nipples reacting to the touch of his fingers. “I thought the new Greek place downtown,” he says.
“That sounds like a fantastic plan,” you grin, already thinking of how delicious the food is going to be. A thought occurs to you. “Who’s watching the kids?”
“Marty and Nykki,” Andrei replies, a smug smile frown on your face when he sees the implication dawn on your face.
“You had this planned? Nykki didn’t say anything when I was talking to her earlier!” You laugh at the surprise. “They’re going to watch our four and their two?”
Andrei nods. “I asked them two days ago and they’re happy to chip in. Half the kids should be asleep by the time they get here anyway,” he leans in to kiss you sweetly. “I told you, solnyshka, I want to show you how much I appreciate the sacrifice you make during the season. A little planning ahead is nothing.”
“Drei,” your voice catches on emotion, “you’re the best husband. Honestly, what did I do to deserve you?”
“You’re just you,” he replies simply. “My best friend, love of my life, mother to the best kids in the world.”
“Stop it,” you cry, waving a hand at him. “I just stopped feeling like I’m going to cry at everything. Don’t be so sweet to me.”
He laughs and grabs your hand out of the air, squeezing your hand gently before kissing the tips of your fingers. “Would it help if I said I wanted to get you pregnant again soon?” His smile is cheeky and you know he’s not entirely joking.
You scoff, wiping at the last of your tears. “Yes, that does help, you lunatic neanderthal,” you deadpan.
“I’m not kidding,” he says. “I think the boys are outnumbered here, Dimka needs a brother.” He traces the tip of his index finger over the lines on your palm.
It is something you’ve wondered about, but not really discussed, whether Andrei would want to give your son a little brother. It’s not an entirely terrible thought. The Svechnikov Brothers, 2.0. Splitting time watching hockey in two different cities in another eighteen years. Following in Dad and Uncle Geno’s footsteps.
You shake your head. Nope, that has to be the baby hormones talking.
“Let’s see just how good dinner is and then we’ll talk,” you say faintly. Dimitri grumbles in your arms, done eating and ready to be burped. Andrei takes him while you fix yourself up and he knows exactly what he’s doing - displaying extreme paternal expertise and looking downright edible with the tiny baby in his arms. Damn him.
“Mommy! Alina said a bad word!”
“I did not! All I said was stupid head! That’s not a bad word! Evie’s a bad word!”
You look at Andrei with a raised eyebrow. “You want to add a fifth kid to this?”
“Why not?” He grins back, showing off his stupid dimple. “We make cute kids.”
“Alina,” you call back, shaking your head at Andrei and trying to tamp down a smile, “stupid head is not a nice word and it’s especially not nice to call your sisters stupid.”

Do you think there's discourse among the grisha
Like the younger Grisha fight over the words bloodletter and witch and if Grisha is outdated/a slur and we really should be using odarannye
Meanwhile Ivan is off somewhere to the side like 'I cannot WAIT until you lot go off to the front, let's see if you're still worrying about fuckin WORDS while dodging Fjerdan FUCKIN axes'
Absolutely!
If not in general, officer brats definitely do shit like that. I mean:
The servants sprang forward to pull our chairs out and clear the dishes. I doubted I’d ever get used to being waited on this way. “Ne brinite,” Marie said with a giggle. “What?” I asked, baffled. “To e biti zabavno.” Nadia giggled. “She said, ‘Don’t worry. It will be fun.’ It’s Suli dialect. Marie and I are studying it in case we get sent west.” “Ah,” I said. “Shi si yuyan Suli,” said Sergei as he strode past us out of the domed hall. “That’s Shu for ‘Suli is a dead language.’” Marie scowled and Nadia bit her lip. “Sergei is studying Shu,” whispered Nadia. “I got that,” I replied. Marie spent the entire walk to the stables complaining about Sergei and the other Corporalki and debating the merits of Suli over Shu. Suli was best for missions in the northwest. Shu meant you’d be stuck translating diplomatic papers. Sergei was an idiot who was better off learning to trade in Kerch. She took a brief break to point out the banya ... then launched immediately into a rant about selfish Corporalki overrunning the baths every night.
Shadow and Bone- Chapter 9
While Alina isn't the most reliable narrator, she might be onto something, when she has her super powerful re-organisation speech:
“The Darkling has changed. If we have any hope of beating him, we need to change, too. Two Grisha from each Order,” I repeated. “And the Orders will no longer sit separately. You’ll sit together, eat together, and fight together.” At least I’d gotten them to shut up. They just stood there, gaping. ... “But … but it’s always been this way,” sputtered Sergei. “You can’t just overturn hundreds of years of tradition,” protested the Inferni. “Are we really going to argue about this, too?” I asked irritably. “We’re at war with an ancient power beyond reckoning, and you want to squabble over who sits next to you at lunch?” “That’s not the point,” said Zoya. “There’s an order to things, a way of doing them that—” They all started gabbling again—about tradition, about the way things were done, about the need for structure and people knowing their places. I set the cover back down on the dish with a loud clang. “This is the way we’re doing it,” I said, rapidly losing patience. “No more Corporalki snobbery. No more Etherealki cliques. And no more herring.”
Siege and Storm- Chapter 14*
But then looking at this, they seem to be more likely screaming about Grisha being traditional name, oddarenye innovatory bullshit and zowa foreign nonsense.
It's like watching US movie about those university fraternities. Wording and notions are the same. Traditions, order of things, enmity between "different" groups and spiteful actions. Pretty sure we could extrapolate a little and add creepy/humiliating/kinky initiation rituals etc.
Ivan's totally right. They truly need some hardcore reality vibe check.
_____
* I'll get into the S&S quote deeper, once I'll get to that chapter, because OHMYFUCKINGGODS, Aleksander "Eat, drink, dress the same like my subordinates" would surely tolerate such behaviour in his own ranks.

i’m really excited to write this roleplay because i have no idea what mi!koo is like or what makes him a yandere. i was re-reading asks about him and sending asks about what he looked like so i could get a feel for him 😅
mommy issues!JK
“okay class! go play! be careful!” you announce to your students but before you warn them to be careful, they’re already scattering around like little ants. you let out a sigh as one of your students trips and falls, ruining their uniform. being a teacher has taught you that overreacting only makes the child overreact, so you simply encourage your student to dust themselves off and go have fun. you don’t gasp or give a huge reaction, you just give them a thumbs up and encourage them to go have fun.
“what’s up, y/n!” says park chaeyoung, the kindergarten teacher who not only pretended to hump one of your parents but is well-aware of their massive crush on you. you don’t find chaeyoung to be a bother but you wouldn’t say the two of you are friends either. when you need ideas for activities, chaeyoung doesn’t mind giving you some advice and vice versa.
“hey chae” you reply as you walk closer to her.
“how were your classes today, pretty?”
“they were okay. the kids did really good with the gummy bear activity” you shrug as you listen to chaeyoung and watch your kids at the same time. some of your kids hang on the monkey bars while other play in the field of flowers, specifically seol and areum.
“so, when are you gonna fuck that hot teacher?”
you gasp “chaeyoung! i am not going to…F him”
you’re a teacher, you can’t curse. at least in front of your kids, you won’t.
“if you don’t, i will”
“not a chance. i heard he’s either got a wife or he’s got baby mama drama”
“you really believe what those teachers say about him?” chaeyoung smirks then leans in closer to your ear “i heard he’s got a crush on one of the teacher’s at the school”
surely you know it’s you, right? it’s not like seol’s dad is the best at hiding his feelings for you but you don’t react, flinch, nothing. that’s when chaeyoung concludes that you’re fucking oblivious to his crush on you which, again, is very obvious. his body language and baby doll-like eyes makes it very clear that the only woman on his mind is the woman that teaches his kid. awkward, but chaeyoung finds it kind of cute.
“he does?” you say “i hope they like him back. oh! one of my parents are here. talk to you later, chaeyoung..hi, yuna!! your father is here!!”
“okay, you have a good day!”
next to leave is one of chaeyoung’s kid and after 10 more minutes outside, you instruct your kids to get in single file line so they could hydrate themselves and prepare for snack-time. as you’re taking a swig of your own bottled water, seol taps your leg to get your attention and presents a flower he picked out just for you.
“it’s for you, mom!” he sweetly says with those adorable eyes of his.
“oh, seol~ that is so sweet of you. thank you so much, hun” you say to the five-year old as you lean down and allow him to put it behind your ear. next to follow behind seol is areum who also present a flower of her own she picked out just for you.
“you too, areum? thanks so much. you two are just the sweetest” you coo as you allow areum to put the flower behind your other ear. “c’mon you guys, let’s go in class so you can eat. i know you guys are starving” you joke as you hold their smaller hands in yours and guide your students inside the classroom for snack-time.
“can you believe mr. gang sold the company? we’re the best banking company in the city and he SELLS it?! we were an independent company making our own money! ugh, wait til i tell alina about this bullshit” eunwoo complains but it’s not just him that is irritated about the surprising news, jungkook is too.
“and guess what? they want everyone to dress all fancy this weekend for a celebration. you going to that dinner because if you don’t then i’m not going either”
but they both know the dinner is mandatory, plus, it’ll be the first time jungkook has seen nara’s face since all those years ago.
“we’ll talk about it on the phone” eunwoo says as he takes a look at his phone “dammit, alina can’t get areum today. good thing i get off early. hey, didn’t you say you’ve got a meeting with y/n, right? don’t forget about that” and before eunwoo can leave jungkook’s office, it was as if a lightbulb lit up in his head.
“you should invite y/n to that celebration this weekend! i’m sure she’ll say yes, or are you too scared to ask? you know i can get alina to ask her. they’re close”
~🫧
Jungkooks eyes light up, “bro… if i could kiss you I would but you’re married and I love yn.” Eunwoo is so intelligent, no wonder he’s married, eunwoo makes a gag face at jungkooks sentence but jungkook just laughs it off
He could ask you to dinner- this weekend, if you’re not too busy. He hopes that you’re not,
So after a few more hours as they are both walking out of the company after a long day at work, Jungkook decides to drive alone since eunwoo has got his own car.
Would you agree? He bites his lip as he focuses on driving, please you have to agree, Jungkook is really hopeful and it’ll be great.
After 30 minutes, he’s pulling up in the school parking lot Acs you bet he’s running towards your classroom in the hallway, the teachers watch him but he doesn’t care.
Jungkook pants a little before he fixes his clothes and then he’s finally knocking at your door. “Ms yn?” He calls out and after a few seconds you open the door.
All in your tight blouse glory, Jungkook blinks twice so he can stop staring at your breasts and he bows his head as you allow him in.
Damn, you’re so sexy in this teacher attire of yours, please teach him a lesson he will never forget, or maybe you could just fuck him on that desk of yours.
Shut up horndog.
There you are staring at him and the kids are probably in the playground, it’s just you and him, oh he’s so excited. “H-Hi Ms yn.” He blushes, your stare is so sexy.
How are you so hot, he’s feeling so hot right now. God save him.
You give him a small bright smile and he feels so good, all his anxiety and stress washing away, “uhhh before you say anything I have a question… kinda inappropriate.” He scratches the back of his head because he can’t have your own friend ask you if you’d like to accompany him to the dinner next weekend.
“So I need a date for the company dinner and you’re the only woman I know…. And feel comfortable with… uh… Ms yn… would you like to go on a dinner date with me? Please say yes I don’t want to be alone there… as you can tell I’m single.”

New Footage Alert!
(Book Spoilers)
Netflix just dropped a new season 2 promo titled Shadow and Bone: Everything We Can Tell You About Season 2 on youtube, with some new footage and there was a thing or two that definitely caught my eye.
One scene from the books that I really really want to see in season 2 is the attack on the Palace and the resulting chapel scene between Darklina. The whole sequence was great in the books and I was holding my breath the whole time I was reading it, in truth it was one of the few scenes in the books that actually got a reaction out of me and had me excited. Well it looks like at the very least we are going to be seeing the attack on the Palace so I am holding out hope that we will also see the chapel scene too. The opening shot of the new promo shows Alina looking up at the glass dome ceiling to see shadows gathering:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Other scenes that I think will be from this attack are these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first one looks like it may possibly be Adrik, Nadia’s little brother, and if it is then I am really nervous about the way that nichevo'ya has hold of his arm because either its that scene or some really on the nose foreshadowing.
The second one looks like its the darkling versus Alina so maybe this is leading up to the chapel scene. There is another shot of Alina and M*l where Alina is in the same outfit which I think might be the scene where she tells everyone else to run and M*l is reluctant to leave, and she then goes to face Aleks alone which brings about one of the best darklina scenes in the books in my opinion.
We also get a better full body look at Alina’s first army jacket thing:
Tumblr media
and it is actually a kefta, something I did wonder about, just made to look very very similar to the first army general uniform and yup I still hate it. I get that they are probably trying to send the whole united armies message but I still hate that Alina is wearing the colours and uniform of the King and army that has oppressed her people for hundreds of years. But hey that’s just my opinion.
We also get a closer look at the propaganda poster from the previous trailer and it is definitely of Aleks and Alina from right before they entered the fold in the season 1 finale:
Tumblr media
So if you couple that with Nikolai saying that Alina and Aleks were co-conspirators I am assuming this is like an anti piece warning of the shadow and sun summoners. What is interesting is Aleks’ reaction to it as he kind of hesitates over the picture before angrily pushing it away. It seems like he is feeling pretty conflicted about Alina, the voice over also talks about him yearning to re-join forces with Alina so I am expecting to see him really struggle with that throughout the season.
Speaking of Aleksander though, the shot that intrigued me the most is this one:

He is very clearly really distraught here, like dude is having a full on meltdown. But he’s crying over something in his hand which looks like a piece of red silk or satin, its definitely a piece of fabric. But I wonder why this piece of fabric has caused such a visceral reaction from him. It does look like its the same room as this shot of him and genya:
Tumblr media
But I don’t think its the same scene as in the one with genya it looks like there is sunlight coming through the window behind them and the one with Aleks crying its much darker. Also in the one with only Aleks and his mystery piece of fabric the candles on the fireplace are lit but aren’t in the one with genya which makes me think that genya’s scene happens during the day and Aleks’ happens at night. The darklina in me can’t help but assume that the piece of fabric has something to do with Alina maybe? This costume of hers does have red fabric that looks similar to the piece Aleks is holding:
Tumblr media
and there is a shot of alina using her powers to protect a group of villagers whilst wearing it in this promo:
Tumblr media
So maybe Aleks and Alina get into some altercation and a piece of her dress rips and he keeps it as like a souvenir/token and later cries over it, you know as you do after a bitter breakup where you are still in love with your ex but are stubbornly refusing to admit it. That’s my best theory anyway.
We get this shot of Baghra and M*l:
Tumblr media
I am 100% sure that this will be when Alina and M*l discover that non sensical plot twist about M*l’s heritage and link to the firebird as Baghra can be heard saying “that’s why you are here” and it looks like they are in Morozova’s workshop. I know it sounds harsh but I don’t really care as the plot twist didn’t particularly interest me in the books so I very much doubt that it will in the show, I’m sorry but I am just not invested enough in M*l or M*lina’s relationship to care all that much. Who knows though maybe the show will write it in a way that will make me care, guess we’ll have to see.
Ok just some other little bits of interest. We get another shot of the sea whip and yup it still looks really amazing I would post a pic but I couldn’t get one that gave it enough justice but I would recommend watching the promo yourself so you can see the Sea Whip in all its glory.
This promo reminded me of why I love Jesper so much in season 1, I am ashamed to admit I did forget in the time between the two seasons. But he’s just so entertaining to watch I loved every second of him that we saw in the trailer.
Looks like we are getting the scene of Alina punching Nikolai in the face, is it wrong that I laughed? I can understand her reaction though first Aleks lies about who he is and then Nikolai does, I wouldn’t be surprised if she was half picturing Aleks and half Nikolai in that moment to be perfectly honest with you.

First Bench Pt. 4
Summary: A game of truth or dare takes a flustering turn, and you admit something to Nina.
Warnings: Making out, I guess
Word count: 2.5k
First Part
Second Part
Third Part
———————————————————————
The day dawned unnecessarily bright, and that meant you all had open-air jogging before gym class. Zoya never felt the need to compete in gym class, and today was no different.
“Hey Z!” Alina huffed as she jogged beside her friend, “Not competing incessantly with Y/n, I see.”
Zoya scoffed, “Only because an A in gym class means nothing to me. Let perfect Brekker be perfect at this alone, with her perfect abs and perfect arms and perfect legs…”
“I have a feeling that this has more to do with than just gym class,” said Alina with a chuckle. “Although, I do agree with the abs bit.”
“Shut up, Starkov,” said the other girl. “Anyways, what’s up?”
“The boys are having a party at Nikolai’s place, so you think you want to come?” She asked. “Assuming you’re not going to be a boring, studious topper girl and study on a Friday night.”
“No, obviously I can’t come because I have to-“ before Zoya could finish, Alina interrupted her.
“Y/n already said yes,” she sniggered.
Zoya grumbled, “I will come. But not for Y/n, because you asked me so nicely and didn’t call me a boring topper girl.”
“Sure, that’s the reason,” smirked her friend. Zoya simply laughed and shoved her gently, before continuing laps.
—Time Skip—
You rested your head on your crossed arms before class started, feeling a little tired. You and the others had stayed up late playing cards, and you had to admit, Nina played a mean game of bluff.
Someone irritatingly familiar hit your head with a book and snickered, "Looks like our little topper didn't get her beauty sleep last night."
You put your hand up and childishly pulled Zoya's hair, replying, "I hope you get a 78 on your next test."
"Wow, truly the most life-threatening insult," scoffed the dark-haired girl, sitting at her seat.
"Have fun being second to me, Nazyalensky," you chuckled, putting your head back down, but making sure to keep your head positioned facing her, so your eyes stayed riveted on her as a small and mischievous smile danced on your lips.
Saints, your smile was adorable.
'Stop it, Zoya,' she chided herself again. 'These thoughts are too uncalled for.'
You continued observing her as she began to read her textbook. You watched closely as her deep brown eyes scanned the page, and her teeth tugged at her bottom lip in concentration.
Her eyes were so pretty...and by the Saints, you wished those were your teeth on her lips...
'Ew, no,' you frowned and looked away, burying your face well inside your arms. 'That's Nazyalensky. Not some pretty girl you like...'
"Alright, good morning, everyone!" The voice of the teacher snapped you out of your sleepiness.
'Well,' you thought, 'Let the competition begin.'
--Time Skip--
You pulled on your favourite black leather jacket carefully, loving how it felt on your skin. The soft black material hugged your slightly muscled arms in just the right places, and it made you feel confident as you turned out a folded part of the collar and looked at yourself nicely in the mirror, fixing your hair as you pleased. Underneath you had worn a tight black t-shirt, just so you could pull off the jacket if you got.
"Someone's looking masculine, I see," Nina smirked, walking in with Inej.
"Masculine for a certain annoyingly beautiful brunette, maybe?" Inej suggested with a giggle.
"Oh shut up, you both," you blushed. You looked at Nina, who wore a lovely red dress, and Inej, who donned a white, billowy blouse and straight cut pants. "I see you both all dressed up for Matthias and Kaz."
Both your best friends blushed a little and avoided the subject.
"Guys, we're getting late," Kaz said, limping into the room. You and him almost always shared clothes with each other, however reluctantly. So, naturally, when you saw him wearing your favourite button down shirt, you had to say something.
“That’s my button down,” you scowled.
He smoothed it down from the front and shrugged, “Just borrowing it.”
“We get it, you’re a whore for Inej, please don’t make it obvious,” Jesper groaned.
Kaz hit him gently over the head with his cane at him, which he ducked away from. “Shut the hell up, Fahey.”
“Just stating facts, Saints,” he chuckled. “Now come on, all of you, let’s go.”
Nikolai’s house was, as a matter of fact, huge. It was basically a mansion. The blonde haired boy welcomed the seven of you warmly and led you all to the sitting room.
Seeing you all enter, Alina called out, “Looks like the Crows have made their entrance!”
Everyone turned to face you seven, and they greeted you warmly, beckoning you all individually to sit.
Zoya, who usually sat straight-backed and poker-faced, was seated comfortably in a chair, wearing a deep blue, full-sleeved, body-fitting crop top with a pair of baggy jeans, and a lazy smile on her face. Her hair was down in its captivating waves, and you noticed that she’d painted her nails, too, as she took a sip from her glass of soda.
You wanted to tangle your hands in those chocolate brown locks, and feel those nails down your back so bad…
Shaking your unholy thoughts away, you grumbled a little to yourself in irritation. You didn’t get it, Zoya was your enemy. You couldn’t have these thoughts about her.
To distract yourself, you sat on the floor with Mal, Alina, Genya, and David, talking to them happily.
“Zoya,” Nikolai nudged her. “Look who’s here.”
Zoya, who hadn’t noticed you enter the room, nearly choked on the soda she was drinking as she saw you.
Saints, you looked so good.
You looked stunning in your jacket, sitting your arm atop your propped-up knee. She had a clear view of the rings on your fingers as you fidgeted idly with your hand in mid-air. Mal had clearly mentioned something about arm wrestling, because you then laughed with a raised brow, and pulled off the jacket, revealing the tight black t-shirt you wore underneath.
In school, you only ever wore sweaters or baggy flannels, so this was definitely the first time she was seeing your figure properly.
Your biceps flexed as you put your arm atop a table, daring Mal to take up the challenge.
“This, I have to see…” she mumbled, standing up and going over to where the group was gathering.
“What, Oretsev, too scared to take on a girl?” You jeered playfully at him. “I’m not always shy and quiet, my friend,” you added upon seeing his shocked express at your boldness.
“Alright,” he nodded with an upside down grin. He rolled up his shirtsleeves and took your hand, poised to arm wrestle you.
“And three…two…one…wrestle!” Nikolai clinked a glass and announced.
Immediately, both his and your arms flexed. His face was scrunched up with effort, while yours held a quiet satisfaction. Slowly, he started winning, but the second his expression turned to one of victory, you slammed his fist down on the other side with so much force it rattled the table.
Everyone cheered and Mal looked shocked. You patted him on the back and grinned, “Maybe next time, Oretsev.”
“Good one, Y/n,” he laughed as you pulled your jacket back on.
Saints, those biceps…
Zoya couldn’t help but think, as she had grown to enjoy these little masculine things about you.
“Guys, truth or dare!” Announced Jesper, holding up an empty glass bottle.
Everyone sat on the ground in a circle, with you sitting between Inej and Nina, as usual.
The bottle spun and landed on Jesper. “Dare,” he said boldly.
Everyone began to think and you said, “Alright, I have a good one,”
“Oh Saints, please, not Y/n,” Jesper panicked. “Anyone but her!”
You giggled maniacally, “I dare your chicken ass to kiss Wylan.”
“Wait, aren’t you all siblings or something?!” Asked Genya, shocked.
“No,” Nina replied, disgusted. “We’re best friends. Have been since second grade.”
“Yep,” you nodded. “The only siblings in this group are Kaz and I.”
“Interesting,” Mal chuckled. “Come on then, Fahey, don’t be a chicken!”
You all teased him relentlessly till he gave up.
“Fine!” He threw his hands up in exasperation. He marched over to Wylan, who’s big brown eyes were wide with shock as Jesper sat in front of him, held his face and kissed him soundly on the lips.
You all cheered as you and Nina high-fived announcing, “Wesper is official now, guys!”
Jesper smacked you upside the head before settling back next to Kaz, who had a small smile on his face at the interaction.
The bottle spun again and landed on Zoya, who panicked a little when Nikolai, Alina and Genya all got devious expressions on their faces.
“Truth or dare, Nazyalensky?” Her panic was replaced by annoyance as she heard your familiar voice.
“Truth,” she said boldly.
“I’m giving her one!” Alina said a little too enthusiastically. “Z, tell me, who in this room do you think is the most kissable?”
Oblivious to the obvious stares towards a blushing Y/n Brekker, Zoya replied, “I’d say Nikolai.”
A collective groan of annoyance spread through the circle and she shrugged, “I mean, look at him. He’s got the jawline, the eyes, even the hair is perfect.”
“Thank you, Zoya, for admitting that In beautiful, just how everyone else does at some point,” replied her friend with a laugh.
Mal chucked his empty plastic cup at the boy’s head and said, “Spin the bottle, idiot.”
Turn after turn went on, and the bottle hadn’t landed on you even once. By then, Nina had to sit in Matthias’ lap, Inej had to hold Kaz’s gloved hand till her next turn, Alina admitted to drawing a penis on every capital on the map of the world in school, and Nikolai had to flirt with a very confused David while Genya glared at him steadily.
“Y/n!” Everyone cheered when the bottle pointed at you.
“Damn it,” you sighed playfully. “I pick dare.”
A devious smirk appeared on everyone but David’s faces, and Genya said, “Seven minutes in Heaven with Zoya.”
Zoya, who was munching on some chips which were in a bowl placed amongst the many other snacks inside the circle coughed and choked on them while your cheeks became as red as Nina’s dress.
“Fuck you, Safin,” you mumbled. “Seriously, fuck you.”
“Come on, it doesn’t count if there are no feelings between you both, right? Should be easy enough,” said Nina with a knowing smirk.
“Well then it won’t count,” you said forcefully, standing up. “Where the hell do we do it? I don’t see any closet or anything here.”
“Since you two are humongous nerds, the library’s over there.” Nikolai pointed at a white door a little down the hallway.
“Fine,” you glared at Zoya. “Coming, Nazyalensky? Or will you need a gilded invitation?”
Zoya stood up with the utmost reluctance, and followed you to the library.
The very second you closed the door behind her, you both were aware of the people clustered in the hallway, with their ear to the door. To make sure, you banged on the door with your fist and called out, “I better not hear any giggling, you horny little shits!”
The library was kind of small, with a big desk in the center of the room, and three walls with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. A small metal ladder was attached so that the upper books could be reached, and it had ball bearings fitted on the panel above the shelves to move it.
“Now,” you fiddled with your jacket sleeves, nervousness pulsing in your stomach. “Seven minutes…”
“Your time starts now!” Nikolai screeched, his voice muffled through the door.
“No feelings,” said Zoya forcefully. “At all. It doesn’t count.”
“Nope. Nothing at all,” you sighed, approaching her. “Wait…how do-how do I do this?”
Zoya rolled her eyes and caught your jacket collar in her fists, pulling you closer to her, saying, “Just kiss me, Brekker.”
“Um…don’t I ask for consent or somethi-“ before you could complete your sentence, she kissed you long and hard, her soft lips making your thoughts completely disappear.
She pulled away and smirked at your blushing, wide-eyed face. “Looks like I’m a better kisser, Brekker,”
You shook your head, trying to clear your thoughts. Your hands were frozen at your sides, your brain malfunctioning and rushing at a thousand miles a minute.
“Sh-shut up, Nazyalensky…” you stuttered.
Saints she had such soft lips…
She looked at you with a daring glance, crossing her arms across her chest. “Why don’t you make me, Brekker? Or are you too chicken?”
Finally clearing your thoughts, you put your hands on her waist and pressed her against the closest bookshelf, your lips on hers again, this time a little hungrier. You did, however hold back a little.
No feelings, she had said. At all.
Your thoughts vanished again as you got lost in just kissing her, Zoya’s hands suddenly on your cheeks, her tongue swiping your bottom lip as she deepened the kiss. Seconds later you were the one against the wall, and her hands were roaming your body, pushing your jacket off your shoulders while your hands went in her hair.
She pulled away and bent her head to kiss your neck, her movements swift and experienced. You let out the quietest of moans as she kissed down will your collarbone and found the soft spot of the crook of your neck with her teeth.
“Kinky, are we, Brekker?” She mumbled against your skin upon feeling your grip tighten ever so slightly at the action.
“Fuck you, Nazyalensky,” you breathed, holding her face in your hands to kiss her again. Your teeth grazed her bottom lip, hesitantly, and you prayed your hands weren’t sweating as you held back the urge to caress her cheeks. To curb the feeling, you waited till she put her hands on your waist to pull you flush against her body, so that you could feel the soft waves of her dark hair against your fingertips.
Zoya sensed how hesitant you were, how you were calculating every move to try and get a sound from her.
With your hands fisting her hair like that, it was almost working…
“First time kissing a girl, Brekker?” She panted as you put your hands on her hips to push her against the opposite bookcase, knocking down some books in your lust-filled frenzy.
“None of your business, Nazyalensky,” you smirked and dipped your head down, kissing the column of her neck just how she had done yours, making her tilt her head back and moan softly.
Saints that sound was gorgeous from her…
“Saints, Brekker,” she panted, pulling you up again, kissing you hungrily as if you were going to vanish any second. “Fuck you for being this good.”
“You admit I’m better than you, then, Nazyalensky?” Your hands slipped under her shirt, and she gasped at the feeling of your cold hands on her shockingly warm skin.
A pulse of pride in your chest had your cheeks warming up and you felt a soft warmth in your heart which was far too unfamiliar. It scared you shitless.
However, just as you fiddled with the hem of her jeans, the others slammed their fists against the door screaming “Time’s up!”
You moved back, fixing your jacket and trying to not stare at her.
You looked at her differently now. Where you’d daydream about her lips, you craved them. You wanted to feel her skin against yours, you wanted to have her pin you against the wall again.
You had to admit, you wanted her.
“Not bad, Brekker,” she panted, her lips swollen from kissing.
You blushed and shook your head, “Go fuck yourself, Nazyalensky.”
She shrugged, “Might want to do it yourself, maybe, Brekker?”
“I’d rather die.”
“Funny, cause you were kissing me like you’d never wanted anything more only two seconds ago. Catching feelings, are we, Brekker?”
“No feelings,” you snapped. “Or did you forget, Nazyalensky?”
What the hell had you just done? What were these thoughts? Why did you want her so badly?
She was a little shocked and perhaps a little hurt, too at your tone.
“You’re insufferable, Brekker,” she scoffed, opening the door.
“The feeling’s mutual, Nazyalensky,” you rolled your eyes.
You did feel bad, truly, seeing her face fall as you snapped at her. But you had no choice. She was out of your league. She could never be yours.
She was competition.
And she could never love you, nor could she ever be with you.
And you couldn’t be with her either.
You settled next to Nina and Inej, completely silent now.
They both exchanged confused glances with each other as well as with Genya and Alina, who looked quizzically at you and Zoya, where you were both making sure to avoid each other’s gaze.
‘Stupid,’ you both thought to yourselves as you both masked your emotions behind a smile, trying to make it seem like you both were enjoying. ‘She can never like you back.’
—Time Skip—
You sat on your bed after the party, Nina and Inej both looking at you in concern. You hadn’t spoken a word the entire ride back home, and avoided all questions about what had happened in the library.
You could still feel Zoya’s body against yours, her skin under your fingertips, her lips on your neck, and it made you want to throw up.
I can’t give in to these feelings, you thought. I won’t. I can’t make myself believe something can happen where it can’t. Where it won’t.
“N/n…” Nina sat next to you, placing a hand on your shoulder. “Talk to me.”
You heard her gentle tone, felt her loving touch on your shoulder. Nina had always been like a sister to you, as had Inej, and the way they looked genuinely concerned, and wanted to know more than just the gory details, it was enough to make you break.
“Y/n, come on, we want to know what’s going on in that head of yours,” Inej added, sitting on your other side.
“Saints, I love her,” you breathed. “I’m in love with her and I hate it so much, you have no idea.”
Nina pulled you into a hug as you broke down into tears.
“I don’t know what to do, Nina,” you sobbed. “I can’t have her. She’s competition. Dating her would be like suicide. My grades would plummet, and she would use me…”
“Ssh…” Nina silenced your panicked rambling. “Is this kind of unrequited? Maybe. Cliché? Absolutely. But look, if you love her, there’s nothing you can do about it. I know how your little heart works, Y/n. We both do.”
“This girl must be special,” nodded Inej. “Because you don’t just love anyone. That heart of yours has a wall which few can scale. And Zoya has scaled that wall, as much as you hate to admit it.”
“I’m terrified,” you said shakily.
“Naturally,” Nina nodded. “But you decide what you want to do. Do you want to let her in, give in to the temptation that is Zoya, or do you want to hurt yourself by crushing your feelings to dust?”
“Think it over,” Inej patted your hair. “And decide what you want to do.”
You nodded and thanked them both, and bade them goodnight as they lay in their own beds, falling asleep instantly out of tiredness.
But you lay awake, eyes fixed on the ceiling, thinking about Nina’s two choices till you reached a conclusion.
This was going to hurt.

this is so long forgive me but back with the girl dad aaron thoughts
-
What set me off was that one post of the “dad leaves his daughter an honest review of her restaurant” (anon can’t get the post but i hope you can find it 😭) and it’s like a play kitchen/restaurant right? LOOK I just KNOW Aaron would be the type to get really into his daughter’s games like !! he’ll do anything, like she wants him to play princess with him, tea parties, house? uh yeah. He gets really into his little girl’s games! He wants her to be happy and have the best childhood he can provide for her!
Speaking of princesses, INDULGES HER SO MUCH if she’s into stuff like disney princesses. She's like four, pre-k age right? imagine she has just like a specific princess she likes, so aaron buys her the designated dress, right, and she loves it and it’s one of those things she just always wants to wear. Aaron is so weak he will succumb to his daughter’s wishes so fast, like “okay, princess, twenty more minutes, but then you have to take it off for a bath.” weak. weak man. it’s been two hours.
That being said: if his little girl does take more interest in less traditional fem. stuff he doesn’t mind! if she prefers superman to sleeping beauty? okay. She loves it when her dad picks her up and lifts her in the air and she can “fly” all across the house. She loves it when her dad makes her her own personal cape, made out of her favourite colour fabric and adorned with her favourite little trinkets (be it glitter and sparkles or some cute beads or stickers). it’s pretty poorly made but she doesn’t really care because her dad made it for her! (also she’s four lol)
If we’re taking the stay-out-home-dad route, OH. OH. At first he’s actually so bad at it, but once she’s in kindergarten he’s an actual pro. oh my god you ever watched those videos where the parents pack their kids cute, nice lunches? HE DOES THAT HE MAKES THOSE LUNCHES FOR HIS GIRL (also his partner assuming they work!). also volunteers as much as his girl wants him to, if she wants him to go on a field trip? boom done, he’s on it so fast. if she wants a little break (it hurts him, poor guy just loves his kid) but he’ll respect it.
Loves braiding her hair and doing it. he actually spent so long learning how to braid hair, he probably got someone else to teach him.(presenting the kc is a pro at hair styling and dressing people to match their propaganda) he could also have just spent hours on youtube, he’d definitely do that. as she gets older if she wants he definitely does her hair. one time, when she was seven she got mad at him and told him; “no, i wanna do my own hair!”
Find him sulking in his daughter’s room, cleaning it up, one of her dolls in his hand. “no… nobody needs me, anymore, she’s all grown up, doesn’t need her dad anymore to do her hair.”
The next time she asks him to do his hair, he jokes around like “thought you were a big girl?” but a couple whines from her and he gives him, telling her he’s just kidding and of course he’ll do her hair.
We adore ask length in this household. If it isn’t long enough to make me up my brightness a little so I can see it properly then what’s the point?
Also this is all great, but hear me out… Aaron the dad to two girls. (Lilith and Alina, perhaps maybe even more)

Where the Storm Lands (3)
A/N: Apologies for it being so long since I've updated this fic! I got a bit swamped with school, and I haven't had much time for anything else. It's finally slowed down a bit, and I found the motivation to continue the third chapter I had started a while ago! This one isn't super eventful, but it's gearing up to be. I didn't want to try and fit the "action" of S&B into one chapter, so I decided to just let this one be the... prep work? The build up? I hate calling it that because it isn't really my story, but yeah, we're getting ready to making the crossing through the Fold! And, I want to make sure it's clear that I am deviating from canon a bit. So yes, I am aware that my version of the story is altered a bit! But that's the beauty of fan-fiction, is it not? Okay, that's enough rambling! I hope to update with chapter four quicker than I did with three, but finals are on the horizon, so no promises :)
Chapter 3:
Y/N wakes to a hand on her shoulder, shaking her from deep sleep. When she opens her eyes, she’s met with brown ones. Alina. Her eyebrows furrowed and mouth in a frown. She had, per usual, climbed into Y/N’s cot last night. Though at some point, she had crawled out and gotten dressed, as she’s now in her uniform.
The sight makes Y/N jump, she knows why Alina looks so frustrated. “You’re late, Y/N! I tried to wake you twice!”
“I’m sorry! I’ll get ready right now, I’ll meet you out there!”
“Ahhh, like you said you’d meet us last night?” Alina stands to her full height, then turns to leave. Y/N stares at her walking away, stung. When she’s at the entrance of the tent, she glances back. “Hurry, please. I want to go together.” Y/N gives her a stiff nod, standing up and grabbing her clothes folded on the floor.
Again, the familiar bite of guilt pricks at Y/N’s eyes, it settles in her gut. They’d forgiven her, yes, but they’re still hurt. Alina most of all.
The night before, when she’d gotten back to her tent, Alina and Mal had been sitting outside of it. They hurried to stand when they saw her approaching, and Mal immediately began confronting her about why she hadn’t met up with them sooner.
“What happened to meeting us tonight? We had no idea where you were!”
Y/N had flinched at his voice. “I’m sorry… I got… caught up. I’m so sorry.”
Alina spoke next. “Caught up with what, Y/N? Our last night before we make the crossing, we were supposed to spend it together.”
At the disappointment dripping from her voice, a wave of guilt washes over her. She wants to make it right, she really does. But the damage is done, isn’t it?
“I know. I’m so, so sorry. I really am.” Mal and Alina say nothing, they watch her, frowns etched on their faces, clearly waiting for more elaboration.
“Look, I-I… I just…” she sighs heavily, wringing her hands out in front of her. She begins pacing back and forth, nerves wracking her. Yes, she’d had a great night with a beautiful girl, but has it cost her her best friends? “I met someone,” at the look on their faces, she immediately spits out “a girl. I met a girl. She invited me back to her tent… and we… well…”
When she trails off, Mal cuts in, the hint of a smirk on his face. “Ahh. So you forgot us for one night with a girl you just met? And you two get on me for being distracted by a pretty face.”
Y/N knows then that she hasn’t lost him forever, he’s found humor in the situation. She may not be forgiven, but she hasn’t lost him. A weight lifts from her shoulders, the dread in her stomach lessens just slightly.
She turns to Alina. “I’m really sorry. She invited me, and I knew I shouldn’t. I knew that I should have met you guys… but I was scared,” she hears her voice crack, the feel of water gathering in her eyes, “so scared to have to say goodbye. It feels like tonight is the last night we’ll be like this, don’t you think?”
At this, Alina’s face softens. “I know it’s scary, but if it is goodbye,” Alina’s voice breaks too, “I want to spend it with you two.”
Y/N nods, and she knows that she hasn’t lost Alina either.
Mal claps his hands and rubs them together before bringing them up, wrapping himself around Y/N and Alina, pulling them into an embrace. “The night isn’t over, enough with the sadness. Let’s finish it out together.”
They only had about an hour together, before all soldiers needed to be in their tents. They spent it huddled close, warm and full of love for one another. Mal’s terrible jokes, Alina’s laughter, it’s home and it’s comfort and it’s sickeningly sweet and pure. How could I have deprived myself of this tonight? Out of fear? Is that truly a good enough reason for missing this? Saints, please, let me have this again, both of them alive and healthy, laughing and no malice towards me.
When the time came for it to be over, they’d hugged, and Alina and Y/N watched Mal leave to join his own cohort of soldiers, tucked away nearly a dozen tents down. When he was gone, Alina and Y/N didn’t speak. Alina just grasped Y/N’s arm, tugging her towards their tent, their cots, like she was worried if she didn’t have her in her hands, she’d slip away again.
~
Pulling her jacket on, Y/N nearly stumbles out of the tent. She glances around quickly, not knowing where exactly Alina and Mal have gone. She notices a long line of soldiers in the distance, and she figures this is where she’s likely to find them.
Towards the back of the line, she spots the two of them. They’re taking in the crowd, likely worrying she won’t make it in time. Y/N curses herself for causing them so much anxiety, then she hurries her pace to catch up with them. Before she gets there, Alina spots her, waving her arms around.
“There you are, I think we’re about to board.” Alina puts a hand on Y/N’s arm to steady her after she had jogged over.
Mal reaches a hand up and tugs on a lock of Y/N’s hair that had fallen out of her braid, she bats his hand away, smiling a bit. “I have to board with the other trackers, they’re farther up in the line.”
At this, Y/N can feel her heart drop. Her stomach begins to turn, she feels sick. They won’t say goodbye. No, that’s what last night was all about. She gives Mal a nod.
Alina speaks, her voice shaking a bit. “Be careful, please, Mal.”
He smiles, he rolls his eyes. “Always am… I think it’s the two of you that need to be careful. Clumsiest people I’ve ever met.”
Alina swats at his arm. The sight is so familiar it hurts. Mal turns to walk away, chuckling and shaking his head at the two of them.
When he’s gone, silence wraps around the pair of them, it clings to their bodies and rings in their ears. Y/N pulls her arm from where Alina’s hand is still resting on it, instead choosing to loop their arms together. Alina smiles softly at the gesture.
“I’ve been harsh, because of last night.” Alina looks down at her feet, like she’s ashamed.
Y/N clears her throat. “No, no. I deserved it. Worse, actually. I’m so sorry.”
“Well, still… it’s over now, I’ll stop being mean.”
“I like you mean, Alina. It’s such a rare sight, let me enjoy it.”
Alina snorts, finally allowing her eyes to meet Y/N’s. Her smile is forced, Y/N knows her best friend better than she knows how to breathe. She feels overwhelmed with the desire to pluck the terror right from her pretty little head. To hold her close like she did when they were young, just two little girls at the orphanage.
“It’ll be okay, I think.”
Alina nods. “We don’t have much of a choice, huh?”
~
Of course, the Grisha boarded the sandskiff first. Most of them are laughing while climbing the ladder, hooting and landing punches on one another’s arms. Their bright keftas are a stark contrast against the dark grays and greens of the First Army soldiers. They board quickly, unafraid to start the journey through the Fold.
Evtnually, the line is made entirely of First Army soldiers. They begin to move noticeably slower, hesitant where the Grisha are eager. Up ahead, Y/N can see Mal and some of his tracker friends board. He looks behind him briefly, catches sight of her and Alina in the back of the line. They’re huddled with the cartographers, trying to peer around shoulders and heads to meet his eyes. But, he’s quickly ushered onwards by… Y/N has to stifle a groan. It’s Zoya. Zoya is watching as everyone boards, and Y/N knows this must mean she’s a more important Grisha than she had previously thought. Is she leading the entire crossing?
Y/N tries to hide her increased anxiety, turning to Alina to engage in conversation. But, Alina hardly responds to her jabbering, engrossed in watching the line move, counting how many more people until it’s their turn to board. Y/N gives up, facing forward again. Her arm tightens around Alina’s from where she’s got her fists clenched. They’ve grown sweaty and cold.
It’s when they begin to really approach the front of the line that Y/N can feel the butterflies in her stomach begin to act up. She hadn’t really planned on seeing Zoya again. She knew she’d likely see her, but… see… her? Talk to her, even if it is just to mark her name off the list of soldiers… Yes, Y/N is nervous.
Next to her, she knows Alina is entirely unaware of the inner-turmoil she’s currently battling. She glances over at her and asks, “Is there even enough room? I feel like so many have boarded already.”
Y/N huffs out a laugh, bitter and humorless. “Let’s hope they’ve counted wrong. Maybe they’ll turn us away.”
Alina gives a noncommittal hum. Y/N knocks her elbow into her side, gently, teasing her for the same anxiety she feels.
They’re close enough now that she can hear Zoya’s voice clearly, can hear every word she’s saying. She’s commanding and sharp, impatient with the human soldiers. Then, there’s just a few soldiers left, a few cartographers clutching white-knuckled onto their packs full of pencils and parchment. As the last one, Alexei, approaches Zoya, Y/N momentarily meets her eyes before she drops her head, looking down at her worn and ragged boots.
She’s trying desperately to ignore the simmer in her lower belly, the rush that overcame her body when her blue eyes locked with her own. Eyes on the ground, she watches as Alexei’s feet shuffle forward, continuing onwards, to the ladder on the side of the skiff.
Taking a deep breath in, Y/N slowly lifts her head. Zoya’s watching her intently. The smirk that almost permanently painted her face during their night together is gone. In fact, she looks angry. Her lips are drawn in a tight line, one eyebrow slightly arched, like she can’t really understand what she’s seeing. It makes the heat in Y/N’s stomach turn from desire to dread. Is she really that upset to see me again?
Alina walks directly alongside her, and when they’re in front of Zoya, Alina goes to speak, to give her their names. “I’m Ali-”
And then Zoya’s cutting her off. “It’s one at a time, or are you two children incapable of separating for one second?”
Zoya’s eyes drop down, locking on where Y/N and Alina have their arms linked. Her nostrils flare a bit, and then she’s snapping her head back up, staring intently at Y/N. Is she… jealous? She cannot be jealous, she cannot possibly be jealous of Alina and I…
Hastily, Alina drops her arm, putting a foot or two between them. The silence is thick for a moment, before Alina clears her throat and tries to speak again. “Alina Starkov, cartographer.”
Zoya rolls her eyes, then consults the list in her hand. She trails her pencil down the list, and Y/N wonders if she’s drawing this moment out to make it even more painfully awkward for her. She makes a sharp ‘check’ motion, then jerks her head toward the skiff. “Board with the ladder, and do keep out of the way, please. There’s people of importance on this crossing, and they’ve got work to do.”
Alina looks to Y/N, confusion in her eyes, before she turns to the skiff, hurrying to board, ready to be out of Zoya’s sight.
Y/N watches her go longer than necessary, and she’s pulled back when Zoya snaps, “Are you done watching her backside? You’ve both wasted enough of my time.”
Y/N whips her head around, face scrunching in confusion. “What are you ta-”
Zoya holds a hand up, stopping her before she can finish. Then, she flips through the list, harshly marking her name off. “Go, and stay out of the way.” She punctuates her sentence by turning around, walking off to likely tell the Grisha staying behind that they’re nearly ready to leave.
Confused, and stung, Y/N makes her way to the ladder. Her muscles wobble as she climbs, the adrenaline and dread slowly leaving her body. When she’s at the top, she feels a hand grasp her forearm. She looks up, and there’s Alina. She must have waited at the top for her. When Y/N fully climbs aboard, she sees Mal is making his way over to the two of them.
“You two need to stay to the sides.” He speaks quickly, and he’s looking around like someone might overhear.
Alina groans, “You, too? The Grisha down there wants us out of the way too. Why’d they even want the cartographers to come then?”
Y/N nods, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “Do you know something, Mal?”
He leans in, speaking in a hushed tone. “Just that they’re saying the Volcra have been more active lately, they’re having all the trackers stand in stations around the skiff. They’ve got more Grisha on board than usual, and The Darkling stayed off this trip in case it goes wrong.”
Y/N feels like she’s going to be sick. She’d been scared for days leading up to the crossing, but now, she feels terrified. Paralyzed. The small voice in the back of her mind that tried to believe everything would be okay was absent now, silenced by Mal’s information.
“Oh, saints.” Alina sounds faint, her voice hollow.
“I have to go back, but please, the both of you keep your heads down and stay out of the way. If it goes bad, get down and hide. I’ll find you.”
“Are you speaking out of turn, soldier?”
Mal’s head snaps up, looking behind them, horrified. Alina and Y/N whirl around. They’re faced with Zoya, standing near the ladder. Her hands are on her hips, her mouth in a scowl. They didn’t hear her come up, but her presence is unmistakable now. The air around them has grown cold, and the wind has picked up. It whips around them so furiously, it takes Alina’s scarf off, casting it off the skiff.
“No, I was jus-”
“You were what? Scaring them, making everyone anxious, making an already dangerous crossing worse?”
“No, I’m worri-”
“I know exactly what you’re doing, and it’s not your job.” Zoya’s stepping closer and closer, her voice taking on a dangerous tone. “I think you’ve got a station to attend to. See to it, before I have you removed.”
Mal glances at Y/N and Alina, then nods and walks back the way he came. Zoya scoffs, muttering a “pathetic” before she pushes through the two of them. Y/N watches as she takes her spot at the head of skiff, standing tall and proud, surveying everyone aboard.
“I’ve never, in my life, met a Grisha as mean as that one.” Alina’s shaking her head, her face is red from feeling caught. Y/N can only nod. “Come on, before we get in more trouble.” She grabs onto Alina, pulling her along. She steers them to an unoccupied portion of the skiff, tucked away in a corner, against the side of the large ship.
There’s only so much small-talk that can be had when waiting for what could potentially be the last ride of someone’s life, Y/N and Alina mostly just lean over the railing, looking down at the ground, waiting for the crossing to begin. There’s noise all around them, Grisha giving orders, soldiers receiving them, the most important members of the crew making their way to their positions. It’s all white-noise for Y/N, who is beginning to tremble.
“Alright, listen up!” Zoya’s voice is booming, and everyone immediately turns to attention. Y/N wonders if she’s using her powers to amplify her voice, and when she notices her fingers twitching at her side, she knows she’s guessed correctly. There’s a few moments where Zoya does not speak, waiting for the murmuring to die down, for all eyes to be on her. Y/N swears that very briefly, Zoya makes eye contact with her, before continuing to scan the crowd.
When it seems that everyone’s settled, Zoya gives a curt nod before speaking again. “We’re going to takeoff now, into the Fold.” She allows a brief moment for that to settle over everyone, but not long enough for any arguments to arise. “In the middle of the skiff, there is a small, but necessary light. This is all the light we’ll need for the trip, it does its job very well. No one. Touches. The. light.” The emphasis on each word is tense. Has someone dared to mess with it before? “Should something happen to said light, do NOT attempt to use fire instead. You’ll only piss off whatever is in there more.”
When she says this, the murmuring starts up again, First Army soldiers look around, stricken. Zoya puts an end to it quickly, though. “QUIET!” Again, all eyes snap to where she stands. “There are Grisha, and human soldiers, for that matter, that are on this skiff that have made this crossing several times before. There are… rumors…” she glances quickly at Y/N before continuing, “that this crossing is more dangerous than others. We have no reason to believe this, and I suggest you don’t believe everything you hear, especially when coming from inexperienced First Army-men.” No one speaks up. No one challenges her. “Now, if you’ve been given an order to stand somewhere, to do a job, I urge you to find yourself there within a matter of seconds. We leave now.”
And with that, she turns back around to take her position at the head. She takes a deep breath in, slowly raising her arms. Her hands are cupped, and when she raises them past her waist, wind begins to fill the sails of the skiff. Y/N allows herself to be enamored for a second, or two. Zoya’s presence in itself is breathtaking, intense and commanding. But to see her like this, powerful and confident, it’s impossible to resist her allure. Other squallers in various locations begin to summon their Grisha magic, too. But none are as captivating as Zoya. Finally, the skiff, with a harsh lurch, is moving into the Fold.
Alina’s hand latches onto Y/N’s arm so quickly, it makes her jump. They turn to look at one another, both of their eyes wide, their faces pale. Alina appears to be holding her breath. Together, they turn back towards the front, and they watch as the shadows swallow them whole.

week 1: the first time
prompt from the off-season winter sport fandom challange
characters: Marco Odermatt, Gino Odermatt (mentioned), Paddy Kälin
lenght: 667 words
author's note: as happy as I honestly am about the revival of the osws-prompts, I had a hard time coming up with something for week one. I had to bend and break the prompt in order to find the minimum ammount of inspiration and this is the result that has me apologizing already. Let's hope week 2 turns out easier and therefor better 🤞🏼
The friendly lady that had accompanied Marco through the highly confusing insides of the studio gave him a sign to walk through the corridor. The audience was pretty huge, a lot bigger than the last time he had been here. Marco gave them an awkward wave that only seemed to fire them up. Paddy, the host of tonight’s broadcast, just shrugged. He tried to say something but Marco couldn’t hear a word through the applause. Paddy pointed him to the table and Marco gladly took a seat. He had spotted his sister and one of his best mates sitting in the front row, Alina gave him a secret thumbs up and Marco tried not to laugh at her too much. The crowd eventually calmed down again so Paddy got to fulfil his job as anchor-man.
“Welcome back, thanks for taking your time!”
“Thanks for having me.”
The medals of the world championship were lying at the edge od the round table, close to the three crystal globes Marco had won this season. Paddy didn’t hesitate to use them as a hook to the interview:
“Let me summaries some statistics of your season: Two-time world champion, three-time globe winner, one of them being the overall globe, your second I may add, most points won in a single season on men’s side which got you tearing down a 23 year old record, and since yesterday: national champion in giant slalom. Congratulations.”
“Thank you very much.”
“It sounds a bit unbelievable but this is the first time you’ve won that title! Does it mean as much to you as the other victories?”
“Well, it’s certainly a great feeling to have it secured as well, especially since I can’t compete at the nationals every season, so it’s nice how it worked out this year alongside everything else. But it’s not comparable to winning Adelboden for example. It’s a bit more down to earth, less hectic.” Laughs came through the audience, Marco felt his shoulders relax. After that, the rest of the interview went by smoothly. At one point, Alina gestured Marco to sit up straighter and Marco had to bite his tongue in order not to burst into laughter. As they reached the end of Marco’s screen time, Paddy brought up the topic of vacations and time away from training. Marco chuckled. “It’s really not as much as people might think. I’ve got some more appointments and testing sessions scheduled and I’ll try to get a few weeks off before the first training camp starts again in June.”
“How does an athlete like you spend his vacation? Are you allowing yourself a week on a sunbed with a good book and no physical exercise or do you need to spend it actively? Taking sightseeing-tours, getting an adrenaline kick?” Paddy pointed over his shoulder to the big LED-screen where the production had pulled up a picture on which he and Gino were hanging overhead from a bungee rope. Again, the audience laughed, just like Marco.
“It really doesn’t matter what I do or where I go, you can always be sure to find Gino calling you on day two, complaining about him being bored and asking what the plan for the day is.”
The program was being shown live on national TV. Marco had forgotten to leave his phone in the dressing room so now he could feel it vibrating in his pocket after saying the thing about Gino. He knew that the text message probably didn’t contain the nicest expressions without having to read it and Marco might would have to make amends by getting Gino a year-supply of those disgusting frog-shaped candies that he loved so much. He had never understood his boyfriend’s obsession over those and they also didn’t taste like the soft drink they shared their name with but Marco knew it would make Gino happy and that was the least he could do after deliberately teasing him in front of a good quarter of the Swiss population.

Watching Shadow and Bone Season 2: Episode 1 - I am losing braincells fast
Okay, I finally have time. Let's do this.
Firstly, sorry if I miss some visual details, I am watching it on a very legal site that unfortunately has something of a potato quality.
S1 Intros looked better.
Alina is looking around in her pretty little dream sequence like "My Saints, life is so emo right now."
Sasha, my beloved.
Wasting sickness my ass.
And there is Mal, assuring her that Sasha is dead.
Where did Alina get her new fancy dress, if they've been on a ship since the end of S1? And her hair grew a lot for it being just two weeks... sorry, nit picks, but like... her hair was not that long and it doesn't grow all that much in two weeks.
Oh, look, Ketterdam. Surely, Alina will not face any danger of being kidnapped and sold into slavery, despite there being a million kruge bounty on her head last season.
So, what exactly do they think they'll find in Kerch. At least when they were running in the books, they just wanted to get to the frontier to disappear there. But like, you two don't have shit to your name... ah, I'm barely like 2 minutes in and I'm already rambling.
Oh, look, Kaz arranged them fake passports... somehow. While they were all on a ship.
*stop thinking about the details, stop thinking about the details, or you'll drive yourself crazy*
So, when exactly did she decide to go after the Sea Whip? Why does she believe it's real? Fuck, I'm doing it again.
Ah, yes, let's talk about our plans and identities openly in public where anyone can hear us.
Also, love how this is 100% the opposite of book Mal. Kinda unironially. Book!Mal can go die in a ditch.
So, we're sticking to the stange season 1 plot of Alina being some kind of a clairvoyant, huh?
Or, wait, are they in Novyi Zem? I guess they are. Okay, nevermind my first few points, I am an idiot.
I know season 1 did weird time jumps, too, but this is going to be very jarring.
Oh, look, Inej still not scared one bit of Haleen.
And... that's what happens when you leave town for months on a whim. You dunce.
Oh, look, Kaz's backstory.
Not sure how I feel about this weird twist, but sure, let's see where this goes.
I'm sorry, who did they even kill? WTF is that?
I mean, I know Ketterdam kinda sucks, but that went down way too quickly.
And Kaz trying not to lose his shit because he's surrounded by people. Well, at least that's book accurate.
Love how the guy next to Jesper is staring at him like "bro, who you talking to".
Okay, what the fuck is happening.
Oh, look at that, we are not completely ignoring that Kaz and co. got hired to kidnap and sell Alina. Well, her side of the story will, but hey, at least it's not completely glossed over like the fucking maps.
Okay, excuse, what the actual fuck is this? What in the name of hell is Nikolai doing. I am confused and not in a good way. I feel like we're missing... a lot of context. Like, a lot.
Okay, so let me get this straight... the way that they get around the "Crows planned to sell Alina into slavery" plot line is... by retconning it so that Nikolai was behind it all along. For some Saints-forsaken reason. Well, Alina is still dumb as bricks, but okay I guess.
Fjerda made ship-art. Of Darklina. For their bounty poster. (Or is this part of the whole retarded "Aleksander is working with the Fjerdans for some reason" plotline.
My question is where they got the visual reference from since everyone except for Crows and Alina-and-co. got murdered.
Kaz, mentally: Jesper, you idiot.
Wow, look at that. Room like for a queen. Wonder where they got the money from. Definitelly an upgrade from the bed-bug infested group room of the book.
At least take your fucking shoes off you barbarian!
Mal is down for travelling the world. Wow, they really pulled a full 180 on this bitch, huh?
Ew. Just ew.
Thank the Saints for cockblocking fishermen. I will vomit if they go any further.
Kaz, screaming internally: Shut the fuck up Jesper.
Oh, look, we still doing the whole "paying with jewelry got her tracked down" thing. Just, slightly less retarded.
Hold up, are we saying Jesper and Kaz are having the conversation now. Like, come on, they've worked with each other for a long time, there's no way this didn't come up before.
That is way more than 20 seconds, just saying.
Oh, look, another Alina dream sequence.
Okay, so is that like a Tether thing or is she just having prophetic dreams? If it's the Tether, how does Sasha already know what Mal is, they spoke like 2 times. If it's prophetic dreams... why though?
Language barrier? What language barrier?
Ravkan Grisha? Of all places? Is she talking about the pogroms that happened after the Fold expanded? Cause if I understand the timeline correctly, there's no way the news have spread that far, yet.
I mean, even in Novyi Zem, Grisha are not safe, in the books. There might not be society-wide prejudice, but there's also not any protection from, you know, slavers and shit (or at least not enough). Ravkan Grisha might be soldiers, but that's not exactly an uncommon profession in this world.
(calm down. You can rant later)
Please tell me this interaction isn't the reason Alina is going to go "All lives matter" on her Grisha status.
Also, how come the maps are marked in Ravkan? Again, language barrier is not a thing here.
Alina being the most suspicious thief ever.
Also, ehm, what the actual fuck is that map doing?
Wow, look at Alina, definitelly not attracting any attention with her summoning.
Why are these two talking about it... in the library of all places?
Also, I'm pretty sure public libraries with all this quantity of information available to just anyone were not a thing until the early 20th century, which the Grishaverse is most certainly not.
Dear god, this is so dumb.
Who drew that shit that it's so accurate that the people actually recognize her by it? At least when she had the physical collar in the books it made sense why everyone recognized her.
Mal being no less suspicious about asking about this shit.
For some reason, there's First Army here. Is that Bohdan from season 1? Why the fuck is he of all people in Novyi Zem?
I know the plot needs to move forwar, but this is a bit too many coincidences for my taste.
Mal's doing parkour, because we've gone 20 minutes without an action scene and if nothing happens for too long, people will start to question our dumb-fuck narrative choices.
Also, the question stands. Where the fuck did Mal and Alina get their money.
Not that I am a big fan of the King's army, but like... just shoot him. He's gonna hang for desertion, anyway. You had a gun to his head, already.
And look, how much of a badass Mal is, taking down a handful of soldiers of equal training without much trouble.
Really... you're trying to stay hidden and you've just found out there's a massive bounty on your head and you... summon in a square full of people.
I don't know why I'm bothering to use my brain anymore.
Random Zemeni people decide to protect her because... she's a Saint? I guess?
Zemeni people believe in the Saints, I guess.
Okay... let's see if they can at least write a convincing sibling dynamic when they don't intend for those two characters to fuck.
Tamar sounding far too 21st century and that's not how people talk, in general. (I say as if I talk to people).
As much as I love the bounty posters, I do have to say, I don't get how they have such a good drawing on them so quickly.
Why is Inej stealing random people's knives?
They killed Haleen. Off screen.
I mean, I guess that's one way to avoid Inej's absolutely amazing, very important and already ruined by last season revenge moment. However...
I am not saying this just because they changed the story and I know they needed to include them again, since they did last season, but like... I don't trust these writers to do these characters an ounce of justice. Or make up an alternative story that makes even a little bit of sense.
And there's still 20 minutes of an episode left. FML.
Okay, hot take, I liked book!Pekka more. This one is far too much of a cartoon villain and not in a fun way. Kaz was the one for whom it was personal. Pekka was just doing business. So, either Pekka is being pupeteered by someone else (which would make the level of too complex and dumb to work conspiracy way too high. Like, it already is, but this would be over 9000) or they really made Pekka into a cartoon villain who would hunt down one guy for a single (fake) million kruge job.
And just like that, everyone in the room went deaf.
Oh, look, Wylan. He's baby.
Inej somehow got caught sneaking in the shadows. Book!Inej would be disappointed.
Ah, yes, asking a random stranger to help break your boyfriend out of the most secure and shitty prison in all of Kerch, like, right now, something which took a lot of planning and a lot of work in the book.
(stop comparing it to the book, we know it was better, you'll drive yourself crazy)
I think telling them you're innocent when you're being dragged into the cell is... a little pointless?
I am still asking the money question.
And that's Sturmhond's ship, isn't it?
Ew 2.
Dear god, they're still using the fucking pins. They didn't have to. They could have completely avoided it. They didn't have to do it. I feel personally attacked by the inclusion of the pins.
How does Alina not realize the boat people are after her, too, right now, is beyond me. Like... my dude, my lass, nobody is going to put their life on the line for one shitty pin.
Are we getting Sasha. Please tell me we're getting Sasha being the best leader and the best character, please, I need a little bit of common sense before I lose my shit.
So... the first army is doing the sham trials of Grisha. And Aleksander is going to save them. And he's still the villain and not the monarchy. Okay. Sure.
Is that Genya?
Tell me, if this is what happens, how in the hell is she going to join Alina, who is supporting the King.
Please, tell me the show is gonna go for a "Fuck the monarchy" twist.
The First army is laughing as they're preparing to murder a bunch of innocent people. I think it's only fair that I cheer on once Sasha and the Nichevoya tear them to bits.
It's Sasha to the rescue!!!!! Hell yeah.
Now that is a hero's entrance. Moi Soverennyi!
Ah, yes, time to catch up.
Oh, look, Alina being a dumb bitch finally but her in the ass.
Well, not really, we know it's Nikolai, but Saints I wish it did.

What kind of prom outfits do you think each of the Councillors would wear (also imagine that Foxfire has a prom type dance for the elite levels and the younger levels and since Foxfire is a noble school the council got stuck chaperoning the level 1-6s because they signed up on accident for the lower levels instead of the elite level chaperoning)
Oo that's an interesting thought! I hope the council has fun in their chaperoning :), they probably could pull rank and switch out, but I'm going to assume where they were chaperoning has already been shared and backing out would reflect poorly on them
I'm answering this assuming it's an elven prom, and that the council are all adult chaperones (as opposed to what they wore at their prom), and also not super acquainted with them so! if you have a different suggestion feel free
Alina: The most extravagant ballgown you've ever seen. No one understands how she can move in the thing, or how she's not swallowed whole. Huge skirt, so many jewels
Bronte: He doesn't dress up, he wears the same thing he does every day and scowls about the situation in a corner. Wants desperately to leave.
Clarette: Simple but chic. No layers or folds or ruffles, but perhaps a slit on one side. She doesn't want the excess fabric to get in the way. Nice accent jewelry to complement the simplicity.
Darek: He's got a typical suit situation going on. Likes to keep it simple so his outfits don't get in the way of his phasing. I don't know what color, though. Black? Tan? I just don't think he stands out
Emery: Dark suit-like ensemble, maybe in navy? I almost said green but that's the mourning color. He doesn't want to stand out, but wants to look professional. Nice embroidery on the cuffs and such
Liora: Incredibly flowy, bright colors. Patterns look good on her and she takes advantage of it. I don't know why but I feel like she'd wear sandals? Or at least very strappy shoes/heels?
Noland: The clothes themselves are simple, but he's got loud patterns that stand out, bright colors. Even so, he still spends most of his night away from everyone else.
Oralie: I'm thinkin something tulle, something that twirls. Off the shoulder effortless style, you know? Of course it's in pink. Like this
Ramira: Something fitted, perhaps? Not skin-tight necessarily, but closer to that. Maybe a nice silver to blend in more and avoid attention, but I could also see a golden tone working really well for her. Looser bracelets/necklaces to offset the tightness of the outfit?
Terik: I think he'd be comfortable going a little more casual, so not a full out suit, but just dressed up a little. Fancier embroidery on his jerkin, a nicer pair of pants. Perhaps a fancier cane, too?
Velia: Fitted towards the top, flows at the bottom. Dark coloring. Makes it look like she's floating wherever she goes, mysterious vibe to her. A statement necklace.
Zarina: Whatever it it's, it's made of that satin-like off-white cream fabric that looks super smooth and shiny, almost reflective. Maybe with a gradient to a light blue. Feel like she'd have fancy sleeves, but nothing delicate. Everything is sturdy and durable
These are just ideas off the top of my head based on what I have to work with (which isn't much), so don't take these too seriously! There's some reasoning to them, but not a lot! it's also pretty canon typical, but if you like headcanons feel free!

105 - Alina Mikaelson - Keener
Tumblr media
Part 106
Gemini Runaway
@icefrye19 @secretdreamlandmentality
My boots kept screeching across the wooden floor while I kept pacing back and forth in a nervous manner. Even though I knew this day would come sooner rather than later. It still scares me that it is here already. One of my kids is getting married at only the age of sixteen years old. I didn’t even notice when someone entered the room until they shut the door and I whipped my head around seeing it was my twin. “Rae, can you stop pacing like a mad woman? Everyone who is a vampire can hear how nervous you are up here.”
“Well I’m sorry but are you giving one of your babies away today. No, I didn't think so!” I snapped back at him sniffing through some tears that had started falling.
He held his hands up in surrender, walking over to me taking a hold of my hands in his own. “Easy sis. I know you’re just worried. But from what I see Jackson is a good kid and he should treat her well.”
“I know he is. And if he ever does hurt her I doubt Nik will let him get anywhere outside of New Orleans.” I chuckled dryly knowing my husband would kill anyone who hurt our kids in any way shape or form.
Jacob chuckled after me squeezing my hands. “Yeah I know Klaus. But let’s focus on the fact that Alina is getting married. That’s a good day.”
"Yeah I'm trying to be positive, it's just…she has to turn tonight for the first time after what happened to Missy during your capture. I want to help her but I'm not a wolf. The only people who can understand are her father and Jackson but I want to be there for her." I slumped my shoulders, dropping my gaze to my shoes.
My twin grinned back. "I think the best thing you can do for her, Rae. Is helping her realize this is a happy day not a bad one. That’s all we can do now."
"I'm glad you're okay, J. I was a wreck when you guys were gone." I hugged him without warning since I hadn't got the chance to since we saved them Greta and Roman.
He wrapped his arms around my waist hugging me back smiling. "I have missed you Rae Rae. But thank you for rescuing us."
Someone knocked on the door where we turned our heads in the direction seeing Kol and Rebekah peaking their heads inside grinning. "Hey Gemini twins!" They said in unison, chuckling.
"I'll let you get ready, sis." Jacob squeezing my shoulder vamped out of the room leaving me with the pair.
Flinging my arms around each of the original siblings I laughed breaking the hugs seeing a bracelet on each of their wrists. "So these bracelets should hold back the Hollow magic for a little while but only until the ceremony is over. Once the full moon comes you two have to be gone. One original in Orleans is okay but we've seen what happens when just two are together."
"We know, Rae Rae. But we're not gonna skip the day one of our nieces is getting married." Kol smirked, sending me a wink. "Please Davina and I are pretty good on the dance floor."
Rebekah took me by my arm and led me to my daughter’s room seeing that she was looking through her closet of dresses. I entered the room first leaving Rebekah to remain leaning against the door hiding something from her view. “Auntie Bex, I can’t believe you got her here!” Alina ran forward tackling her aunt in a tight hug.
“I got uncle Kol here too. Just for a little while. Although your auntie Bex has something for you. Since you need something new I asked her to go into the family collection case and she found this.” Stepping out of the way Rebekah revealed a long white wedding dress that had short sleeves that were see through. It had a slit and was covered in lace below the waistband.
The blonde original grinned brightly, handing her niece the dress. “It's white, which won't fool anyone. But you can't get married with anything you have in your closet. I am sad to say, little one.”
Rebekah smiles at her and watches as Alina stands in front of her full-length mirror and holds the dress against her body to see how it looks. “It's beautiful. Thank you so much auntie Bex.”
Rebekah embraced her in another hug once she laid it down on the edge of the bed. “Well, I happen to be the only woman alive who's commissioned wedding dresses in five different centuries. Never made it down the aisle, of course.”
“It’s perfect, Auntie Bex.” Alina laughed through the first sight of happy tears I have seen in the last two days during planning a wedding.
Moving something out from behind my back I sent my daughter a wink. “I am taking care of something borrowed and blue. While I left your father in charge of something old.” Revealing Jaocb’s necklace out from behind my back.
She ran forward, turning around so I could put it around her neck. “Oh mom….wow. I can’t believe you’ll let me wear it. Even just for tonight. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. Now let’s get you ready before the wolves downstairs start to pick fights.” I chuckled hugging her seeing Freya come in to help with her heels and getting the dress on. Rebekah was to do her hair. She let Alina’s hair be loose for the most part and then put some of it into a crown on top of her head.
Extending my arm out to my daughter I smiled when she looped her arm through mine. My daughter smiled while I led her out the door until we paused seeing her dad standing at the top of the stairwell that would go down into the main entrance. “Dad, mom said you have my something old.”
“I do, princess Alina.” He did a childish bow reaching into his suit jacket drawing out a princess crown sitting it on her gently. I smiled brightly at him scanning over seeing him wearing a black suit jacket, a light gray dress shirt and a black tie.
I was wearing a short light orange dress that fell down to my ankles. Leaving my hair loose and I had my brown cowgirl boots on. “Oh dad. Don’t make me cry. I’ll cry if you do.” Alina chuckled seeing him sniffing through some tears.
“I can’t help it, little werewitch. You will always be a Mikaelson and be my daughter. Shall we?” He offered her his arm standing on her right side while I remained on her left.
“Uh mom. I don’t think Mary will like you both walking me.” Alina warned me though she didn’t pull her arm out of mine.
I tilted my head raising a brow towards my husband who just grinned at me not wanting to let her go yet either. “I nearly died giving birth to you and your sisters so that bayou mother will have to accept both your parents walking you down the aisle.”
“Looks like you’re stuck with both of us, sweetheart.” Nik smiled, kissing her forehead before we started walking into the main room. The music began playing where Alina kept her eyes focused on where she was walking until we reached the end then she stared at only Jackson.
The young wolf boy wasn’t in a flannel which pleased both Klaus and I like he normally would be. He was wearing some blue jeans though and a brown belt. He had it paired with a black dress shirt and a white tie. “If you ever hurt her I will hunt down everyone you love.” I threatened the werewolf by putting my daughter's left hand in his.
“And I will deposit your head on the end of a spike….we love you, Lina.” Klaus flashed his hybrid eyes at him giving her another kiss on the forehead before we stepped to the side. Jacob, Henrik and Hayley were standing outside on the side with Jackson. While it was us, Hope. Missy and Andrea on the other side.
All eyes focused on the young couple and the elder werewolf we knew as Mary Keener who was performing the ceremony. “We gather together as a community seeking peace, inspired by this couple standing before you. There was a time when werewolves saw themselves not as cursed, but blessed with connection to our most pure selves. And tonight, we honor that blessing with the long-awaited unification of these two bloodlines. The Mikaelson’s and the Keener’s.”
Mary performs a hand-fasting by binding Alina and Jackson's wrists together with a ribbon decorated with flowers. “In doing so, we choose to embrace Alina’s witch nature. With this union, Alina will share her unique gifts with her husband. And now, your vows.”
Jackson takes a deep breath squeezing Alina’s hands , meaning he must have been as nervous as she was. “I pledge to honor you and defend you and yours above all others. To be your comfort, your sanctuary, and for as long as we both shall live. To be your family.”
“To share in blessings and burdens. To be your advocate, your champion. To be your family….always and forever.” Alina added her own twist on the end of the vows they had to resight together.
Mary glanced in mine and Nik’s direction but there wasn’t anything more she could say. They were getting married like she wanted so she finished the ceremony. “You two have endured all the traditional werewolf rituals and trials. There is only one remaining. Jackson, you may kiss your bride.”
“Always and forever, Alina.” Jackson mumbles through a smile sliding a golden ring with a red jewel in the center onto her left ring finger.
She slides a black band on his left hand leaning in forward slowly. “Always and forever, Jack.” He closes the rest of the gap and they share their first ever kiss together. Now that the good part was over we had to prepare for the hardest part of the evening.

Now that I have finished Shadow and Bone season 2 I want to give my two cents about it. There are spoilers for the show and for the grishaverse books ahead!
The thing is, as much as I'm uspet about a lot of choices that were made, especially regarding the plot and the character development, I can't get myself to hate the show completely. I absolutely adore the cast, I love the set design and the costumes and I loved certain scenes. It was a captivating story and at times I was at the edge of my seat. So I would lie if I said I haven't enjoyed watching the show. However, regarding the crows and their character development I'm thoroughly disappointed. The scenes in itself were mostly good but they just didn't make sense and didn't feel impactful to me because there was no buildup. The character arcs of most crows were ruined and can't be fixed in my opinion and that makes me incredibly sad.
But let's dive in a bit deeper, starting with the positive points. As I said before, the cast is in my eyes pretty much perfect and even the one's I'm not 100% happy with made it work. They portray their characters so well and have also mostly acted really impressively. The whole show is held together by this cast and by the wonderful set design that makes this world feel incredibly real. I also still really loved the keftas and also the other costumes, for example Jesper's suit jacket and skirt combo, or Nina's red dress!
I also really enjoyed a lot of Genya's scenes. They were written well in my opinion and Daisy Head did an amazing job. The scenes made sense in their order and they built one another up nicely, so that's why her lines felt so impactful. The ending was absolutely heart-breaking to me, a real punch to the gut (but not necessarily in a negative way).
In general, there were scenes that I really enjoyed, that made me laugh, cry or squeal. Some of the scenes with the crows were simply wonderful to watch, I especially loved Nina and her interactions with Kaz. I also loved the scenes between Alina and Nikolai and their friendship in general, it was really cute. Even though I was more attached to Mal and Alina and their relationship in the first season, I still loved them and was rooting for them.
Those are the positive things that come to mind right now, I certainly forgot some. But let's continue with the negative points.
The whole season just felt incredibly rushed. Which honestly is no wonder because they tried to fit in (parts of) four books and some aditional stuff. The crows and their story suffered most because of that, in my opinion. Their character arcs were completely butchered. I think I could have lived with Kaz' backstory being revealed but putting the Pekka Rollins plot into this season simply made zero sense. It was so disappointing to watch the "I'm begging you" - "Are you?" scene when it felt so unearned. This scene is supposed to be almost some sort of climax for Kaz' story, and it can only be impactful if we get to see - slowly and over a certain amount of time - how much hate Kaz has for him and how much he's willing to give to defeat him. We got to see glimpses of it, for example when he blows up the crow club. But it's not nearly enough and just feels incredibly rushed.
Same with the scene in the slat where he fights the dregs. This scene was so important in the books and absolutely nerve-wracking to read because Kaz had to prove himself, he had to stand up for himself and establish himself as the powerful man he had become. But in the show it was put in almost as some sort of afterthought, simply a necessary step for Kaz to gain some more men.
The relationships between the crows (and I don't mean just the romantic ones) were also not given the time and space they would have needed. What really drives me mad is that they completely changed the nature of Jesper and Wylan's realtionship and story! The whole point of their relationship is to be slowburn, to let us see the crush Wylan develops and the way he's blushing when Jesper is flirting with him. One of their most iconic lines "Just girls?", "No. Not just girls." doesn't even make sense anymore! And they tried to replace their bickering with unnecessary drama and I simply hated that.
Kanej felt slightly less rushed but still didn't feel right to me. Again, unnecessary drama was added instead of deepening their mutual yearning for eachother. And while Freddy's acting made the "I'll have you without armour" scene absolutely heartbreaking and wonderful, I felt like in the show it's not clear enough that Inej is not only talking about his physical armour. In the books it was completely clear to me that she is mostly talking about his emotional unavailability and not (or only as a second point) about the fact that he has a problem with touch (because surprise, she has a problem with touch, too!). But in the show that's not clear at all, in my opinion, which makes the scene feel as if Inej is rejecting Kaz because of his trauma and that's just so so wrong and feels icky to me.
Nina and Matthias didn't really have screen time together, the only thing I can say is that the ending where Matthias looks ready to go back to Nina feels wrong to me. He's supposed to still hate her and that's what makes their relationship fascinating in the books, because they kind of have to start over from square one. I also really missed the relationships between Nina and Inej (they had a few short scenes but not enough to establish their friendship) and between Jesper and Inej.
I have to say, even though the Ravkan plot also felt a bit rushed, it was fine to me. I liked certain changes and I think they did overall a good job at adapting the grisha trilogy. The ending, however, felt very strange and wrong to me. I know that a lot of people didn't like Alina losing her powers and moving to Keramzin with Mal but honestly that was my favourite part of the books. In my opinion, it's exactly what Alina and Mal deserve. They both were dragged into this civil war and were almost forced to save Ravka, a country that wasn't always kind to them. They sacrificed so much and worked so hard to save it, even though they never wanted any of it. Alina herself didn't really want her powers at the beginning and afterwards she simply wanted them to destroy the fold. So to me it felt right for them to finally have the life they actually wanted. A quiet life, a peaceful life, a life together. So to now have Alina be the queen of Ravka (or to at least send or on that way) and to have Mal be apart from her as Stormhond, that feels like a slap to my and to their faces, honestly. As if they didn't deserve the peaceful life that they so desperately wanted.
All in all I have to say I'm just not happy with how they handled the crows. I think it could have worked out, even after the first season, if they had just left the crows out of Ravkan affairs for this season. They could have had some scenes, maybe the first half of Six of Crows could have been adapted, they could have made a bigger thing out of breaking Matthias out of hellgate. That would have prepared them for the ice court heist, which could have been told in a spin-off series. But how it is right now, with their chatacter arcs butchered, I just don't see how they could make an actually good spin-off series.

ooh... no, you wanted me, didn't you? you caught me.... *she whispers, leaving a kiss on his jaw* you brought me here, trapped me, like some kind of animal *she kisses him again, slightly cupping at his crotch* and then you made me work for it... so I don't think so. try to catch me again *she hops off his lap, gathers her dress and moves towards the door* and if you do, you can do whatever you want to me, fuck me in any way you want. I love you, your highness.
(no that was just my cat walking on my keyboard, it wasn't me 🫣😶‍🌫️ also hello again my favorite teacher didn't you say he had a dubcon/predator prey kink 🫠 I pay attention in alina's classes)
“oh my God, I’m going to fucking catch you- my sweet little lamb is gonna make me work so hard for this, so you will have to pay once I catch you.” He sighs before composing himself. Because you’ve got him so hard.
He takes in a deep breath before he’s running off right behind you. “you better run fast or once I catch you…. You can’t escape me.” He growls, because he’s really going insane right now.
You have no idea what you do to him. And he’s going to show you how much you test him, everyone is watching, but he doesn’t care because he’s frantically looking for you.
His eyes don’t even lose your figure for even a moment because, he can’t lose you right now, and it’s really fun to watch the way your hips bounce with each step you take running away from him.
Do you really think that he won’t catch you?
“Ynnnnnn!~~~ where are you?” He whispers in a sing song voice, you both have exited the golden wing of the palace and this is near the entrance of the dungeon hall.
Are you really going to make him fuck you in this dark horrid place? But it’s honestly a good thing because no one will be able to see you but..
A lot of the prisoners are going to be hearing you moan out his name like a bitch like a bitch in heat. You’re still running away he can see the way your hair bounces in the air.. your pretty dress is also dancing in the wind.
He’s right behind you. He can hear your heartbeat.
“Ynnn!~~” he coos, in a sadistic way. He’s so close to having you. And just like that before you can take another step, he catches up to you and without a warning he grabs you by your waist and pulls you towards him.
Your body turns towards his and now you’re facing him.
Jungkook looks into your eyes and he’s pretty sure you can see the feral look in his eyes. “Little lamb has been caught… now I get what I deserve.”
He says before he’s pinning you against the hard brick wall, you gasp in surprise and he takes the moment to grab your hands and pin them right above your head.
He can’t have misbehaving now, but when he’s so impatient, and horny.
Jungkook then proceeds to lock his lips with yours, taking away your breath, his kiss is intense just like his feelings for you.
He’s burning up with desire right now.
You’re going to burn too.

Quote
I led them down the hallway to my room, and threw open the door.  Genya dove into the pile of gowns laid out on my bed. “Silk!” she moaned. “Velvet!”  Zoya picked up a kefta hanging over the back of my chair. It was gold brocade, the sleeves and hem embroidered lavishly in blue, the cuffs marked with jeweled sunbursts. “Sable,” she said to me, stroking the lining. “I have never loathed you more.”

~Metal Family headcanons~
These are like my... general hcs)? which means I didn't include my main hc that Glam, Ches and Vicky are polyamorous, married and started dating after Glam met Vicky, and absolutely everything that implies for the kids and the relationships between each member of the fam. Maybe I'll make a separate post for that or maybe not! Who knows lkfwnlfqnf
Glam
Bisexual
Glam has constant nightmares and ocasional night terrors ever since he ran away home and is an active sleep walker. Ches helped him through the worse ones when they were younger, and learned how to deal with them, always preferring not to wake him up but being with him until the episode passed. Vicky has learned how to deal with them, though she normally asks Ches for advice with it cuz she comes out short sometimes.
He has PTSD. I bet it's diagnosed too, he takes medication and goes to therapy, it doesn't mean he still doesn't have his bad days anyway. He's trying to get better.
Glam has talked to Vicky about his past, his father and his family. This is a direct contradiction of Alina's confirmation that Glam doesn't talk about it with anyone but man FUCK THAT. We love good communication in this house, Vicky tries her best to help him, but there's only so much she can do to help.
Glam enjoys gardening, cooking and making models, he also likes doing his make up, painting his nails and dressing up in fancy, extravagant clothes even if he has nowhere important to go.
He likes taking care of everyone's hair, and constantly helps Vicky brush her hair cuz there's so much of it, Dee when he gets stressed over how tangled it can get, buys Ches hair products so he actually takes care of it, and chases Heavy so the kid actually washes, untangles and brushes his hair.
This one is kind of weird, but I refuse to think any adult in the family is unarmed at any time. Glam owns a taser and pepper spray. They're bright pink and sparkly.
This man cried his eyes out while watching Coco. He's hell to watch movies with cuz he talks and predicts what's gonna happen during the movie, judges them with scores at the end and all.
Vicky
Also bisexual!
Vicky's the one who does everyone's laundry most of the time. She prefers it that way since she's the only one that knows how to wash their black clothes so the colors stay vibrant. (This is based on my gf shaming everyone but Vicky cuz their black clothes always look so muted and almost gray, but Vicky's whole outfit is always the same vibrant black colors, so we decided that neither Glam or the kids know how to wash dark clothes)
She has anger issues, if it isn't obvious. I think she also has PTSD, mainly survivor's guilt due to her surviving the accident her brother died in. She blames herself and cannot bear to talk about it, in some sort of deep denial. If she can't remember, it can't hurt as much, right?
She has scars on the right side of her back and her hip, from the road rash she got on her brother's accident, she never treated it due to grief and it scarred badly. Apart from that, the scar of the caesarean section from Heavy's birth. She doesn't really mind both of them, they happened, nothing to do about them.
She likes watching boxing competitions, brawling matches and motorcycle repairing on TV. Loves doing BBQ's and going to the pool. Also an enjoyer of teasing her kids, kissing and loving her husband at random times, spending time drinking and bonding with Ches and bragging about her family and punching anyone who thinks they're not that cool.
Not particularly a fan of make up, skirts and dresses or any traditionally femenine-perceived stuff. But has been making exceptions due to Glam and Ches being unashamed of being seen as femenine, and actually rocking the looks. The internalized misogyny is kind of slowly dissapearing.
Apart from the guns she carries in each arm (I mean her biceps, have you looked at the size of those?? She strong) she has brass knuckles on her at all times. Glam gifts her new ones sometimes, she loves having multiple choices to punch people teeth in.
Loves horror, thrillers and action movies. Falls asleep during rom-coms and dramas. Ironically, loves gossip and talking shit about people. Enjoys hearing Ches talks about the gossip going on in the nursery home even if she doesn't know who the hell he's talking about.
Rest of the family under the cut!
Heavy
Heavy is a trans boy! He doesn't know his sexuality yet though, he's still figuring himself out. When he's older, i think he definitely dated some men but had better luck with girls.
Heavy has had innocent crushes on some girls on his class before, but they never turn into anything more cuz he's not the best at expressing himself. He follows the bother-the-girl-to-death-until-she-hates-you gimmick, and unsurprisingly, it doesn't work.
I'm sorry to break this to u but Heavy totally had an among us phase, and uses so much reddit and twitch slang... You know he does.
Likes bullying and teasing his brother to death. You know that when Dee had his first romance, Heavy was ALL up in his business being a tease and a bad attempt at a wingman. He means well tho.
He's not squeamish at all. Also has great pain resistance. This kid has picked cockroaches with his bare hands and loves cats, of course the cats have scratched him. He's tough!
Grows up to be the charming himbo he was always destined to be.
Dee
I hc him as demisexual. Kind of inherited his dad's tastes for the takes no crap, intimidating but pretty kind of people.
Can't cook. He tries but he can only do basics like rice, cereal, chicken nuggets or eggs. Complicated meals always burn or don't taste like anything at all. It drives him crazy.
Dee was a quiet and very well behaved toddler before Heavy was born. He never threw tantrums or got whims. After Heavy was born though, and despite the fact he understood his brother was small and needed special care, he started craving attention often and cried and got mad at little things. Typical jealousy of the oldest sibling.
The first time Dee fell in love with someone, he didn't recognize it was love at first. He just thought his interest on the person was born out of curiosity and aesthetic attraction, but as soon as he realized he seeked validation and companionship, that he liked seeing them smile, that he wanted to protect them, that he yearned for more time alone with them and that he wanted more than what just a simple friendship implied, it was an instant 'oh hell no'. He wanted those feelings to get the hell away, but unfortunately, they were there to stay.
Canonically likes MLP, psychological and horror anime like Death note and Hellsing, so I'm deciding he also watched Death Parade, had a FNAF phase, is very into The Walten Files. This guy enjoys any kind of specially dark ARG's and knows a ton of lore of real crime, unsolved cases, ghost appearances and other stuff. Doesn't believe in the supernatural, but sure is entertained by it.
He's a mess at romance. Flirting? His attempts at compliments are hardly flattering. Giving gifts? The best he can manage is jewelry and you can kind of tell he asked his dad for help. Dates? He's so nervous he's silent for most of it, but begins getting comfortable and having fun if his partner really knows how to get him down from his negativity cloud.
Ches
Pansexual.
He's very good with kids. He has the patience of a saint and he's laid-back, chill and fun but still is an authority figure who knows how to put limits. Sure, he's gonna let the kids light up a house on fire BUT hey, now they know everything about fire precautions, burns and how to treat them AND how to get away with arson. What an educational evening, am I right?
Due to certain info from the "Goodbye" official comic, I headcanon Ches as depressed. I don't want to elaborate a lot 'cuz of spoilers, but... God, everything related to his mom fucking hurts, man. How did he deal with all that?
Ches has been Dee and Heavy's babysitter so many times he cannot count them with all his fingers. He learned how to put those kids to sleep almost immediately (Sing Bon Jovi's "This ain't a love song" and any cheesy love song in a slow lullaby style and they're out), which movie were their favorite as kids (Heavy loved 'Monsters Inc.' and Dee never looked away during 'Meet the Robinsons'), how to console them after nightmares (Heavy needed reassurance, sweet words, and to be with someone until he fell asleep again. Dee just had to be tucked in, get his nightlight turned on and kissed in the forehead). He practically raised those kids along with Vicky and Glam.
More than once, Dee and Heavy have slipped and called Ches "Dad". Ches immediately gets his shit eating grin on and answers "Yes, son?" and does a couple of dad jokes just to mess and embarrass them. He's actually very flattered and surprised at how proud of himself he is for being a father figure to both kids.
Has a scar on the left side of his forehead due to a bottle his mom threw at him when he was younger, around the time he met Glam. He hates the scar with passion, it's a permanent reminder of the fact she never cared, that's why he always keeps it covered with his headband. Gets sad about it sometimes.
Ches likes to spend his time with a group of grannies of the nearby nursing home. He genuinely considers them his friends and gossips and hangs out with all of them on weekends. Bingo, billiards, walks in the park, soap opera marathons, you name it. I even designed them, gave them names and backstories... God, i just love the concept too much. I'll make some art about Ches and his granny gang FOR SURE, you're NOT ready for them.
Carries a pocket knife on him at all times. This man grew up on a bad neighborhood and absolutely knows how to defend himself, he can be intimidating when he wants to be and will pose a threat if needed. He's fucking terrifying when genuinely mad. Just cause he looks harmless doesn't mean he is, darling.
That would be all!
