Was rewatching ep 23 last night and this struck me:

#these past few days have been a definite turning point for me #i was never particularly patriotic. i was critical of ''canada'' before #but now i have nothing but disgust and anger towards the nation calling itself ''canada''#i watched a woman cry for her stolen children. her rage and grief were so visceral as she sang to us (the colonizers! the settlers!)#and begged us to fight for her #and i watched the major news outlets' gross miscoverage of the event. focusing on one mention of hamas' hostages instead the numbers #of palestinians dead. the airstrikes on the hospitals. the descendants of holocaust survivors calling it a genocide #(the news called them ''''self identified''' jews. what a slap in the face to someone who lost their father in the holocaust!)#I have to try and turn that disgust and anger for ''canada'' into love and hope for the first peoples of turtle island #and all colonized people #i have to try and fight for them #a.txt

every now and then i feel tempted to make some kind of thinkpiece abt how the patriots ruined the ecosystem of nfl rpf but tbf its more like there were a couple of really avid edelmandola fans that only wrote that pairing from like 2015-2019 ish and then like general consequences of a team being mega dominant for an extended amount of time

#this is why im an advocate for parity in sports otherwise the fanfic content gets really saturated w certain pairings #and then you have to make your own food #but also like it's more fun to watch sports when there's parity imo #so i guess yeah the patriots did ruin the ecosystem of nfl rpf #but its better now so i think fandom just has ebbs and flows of like what's popular and what's not #corresponding with which sports teams are good and stuff #all we need are more fans of different teams and then the selection becomes more diverse i guess #also can be seen in hockey/baseball/tennis/f1 rpf #tho i guess tennis is kind of egregious considering one pairing makes up like 27% of the fics 💀 no parity there lol #whereas the most popular ships usually comprise around 10% ish? edelmandola cutting it close #but i kind of consider that pairing an outlier bc of general engagement/the way it looks like a couple of rly invested fans #im kinda rambling if you guys have any input feel free to add #nfl #new england patriots #kinda #fandom #ao3 #rpf #sports rpf #nfl rpf

I said this on twitter last night but it's so weird because if they had just made their own designs instead of stealing them the game would be nigh-on perfect

I haven’t had the chance to see the full episode yet but I am DYING at this whole Steve Rogers virginity thing in she-hulk. Like, the whole concept of it is absolutely hilarious. I’m obsessed with the way this contributes to The Legend of Steve Rogers ™ in the MCU
