Y’all know what I think would make an interesting AU?
If everyone in the 90’s Young Justice was a clone or a “clone”
Canonically we’ve already got two out of the main ten
Conner Kent/Superboy being a “clone” of Superman & Lex Luthor
& Slobo being a clone of Lobo
Two things to note 1) I think it’s kinda boring if all of them have the same backstory so I’ll still try to give them all a reason that they’ve left Cadmus early in life
And 2) If we’re looking at all the various DC works 1 to 1 clones usually have some major issues
For example the other attempts at cloning Superman didn’t work, the DNA was too unstable
And in the DCAU, the Supergirl 1 on 1 clone had the side effect of being mentally connected to Supergirl which made her mentally unstable and Waller purposely avoided going the 1 to 1 route with Terry implying that it was still not a smart route to go down decades later
Therefore every “clone” will still have two “parents”
Let’s start with the other members of the core four
Tim - obviously a clone of Bruce, could add in Selena’s DNA if the scientists want some extra kick or he could still be the son of Janet so that he’s raised in a similar manner (rich kid upbringing) to Bruce
Janet and Jack could be having fertility issues and are given an opportunity to have a child through Cadmus and they just ignore all the weird stuff like rich people tend to do. Maybe they know Tim is Bruce’s clone, maybe they don’t. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Cassie - Diana Prince & Steve Trevor - not only would this give them access to the Amazons/Themyscira but also to a member of military personnel who knows a lot of stuff he probably shouldn’t
If this pairing Helena Sandsmark could be chosen to adopt her specifically so that she has a higher chance of interacting with the Greek gods which activates her powers (I mean Helena is already canonically interacting with them - might not be hard for Cadmus to realize that)
Could also do Diana & Helena Sandsmark, she could be in the same boat as Janet in the earlier scenario and just rolls with all the weird stuff.
Bart - Barry and Iris. Could still have the aging problem and still raised in Virtual Reality just some centuries behind the usual route. Imagine him thinking up the twins names himself - I mean Dawn and Don as twin names SOUND like they came from a kid raised in VR lol. When Barry and Iris later have the twins, they just roll with the names because Bart said them so matter of fact and Cadmus acts like they aren’t surprised that Bart got it right about Iris’s pregnancy.
Maybe they send him to go find Wally through suggestions from the VR so that he can better learn his powers/can become the next Flash and then Wally sends him to Max like in canon.
Now for the others…
Cissie - super easy Bonnie & Ollie. Bonnie as an Olympic-level archer wants her daughter to be the best archer and a hero and so she seeks out Cadmus and asks just straight up asks them for a clone.
Greta - I’m sorry to say is a mystery. She was a failed clone but no one seems to know who her original DNA came from.
Anita - could be a clone of her mother Oshi if Agua killed Oshi before she had Anita. Cadmus could reach out and be like hey Donald Fite it’s not the same as having your wife back but um, we could clone her? Give you a kid? Maybe Agua pushes for it idk
La'gaan - I couldn’t find much about his history prior to him becoming an Atlantis citizen so I imagine Cadmus might have captured his “parents” or maybe it’s someone who works with Orm and wants to send in a spy and though a child would be easier to get in than an adult. When Aquaman makes him a citizen he decides not to betray his confidence.
Ray - cloned from the original Ray and his wife or another golden age hero. Again pretty simple. Cadmus just thought he was neat. They are obsessed with Sun based superheroes after all. Ray is one I could see being locked up in Cadmus until the formation of the team since he was already locked away from the Sun in his origin story.
So at some point I imagine Tim would probably start to unravel things which would lead to similar events to canon (regarding the formation of the team I mean) but I just think it would be interesting since cloning is so prevalent in the DC universe to have an entire team of clones or “clones”
Maybe after distributing the other clones Luthor gets the idea to actually raise Conner himself which is always a fun AU
Plus with all this cloning going on they could potentially have the tools to prevent Slobo’s body from degrading which is a nice bonus
What do y’all think?

(high-school) boarding school au with young justice!!
they all live on the same floor with red tornado being their floor r.a. and idk shenanigans occur for no reason, maybe they uncover stuff about the other teachers, uncover secrets, etc. and then the fun traditions.
and most of them are all kinda legacies in their own way, yet also away from their families, they’re at this weird limbo. so of course they latch onto each other. the codependcy goes wild.
each floor or whatever as a team and they gotta compete against other floors for the floor championship, like the quidditch cup. and each month? week? there’s a new event and at the end of the year it’s all tallied up.
the y.j. floor is so ahead, but in the beginning it was bad for them bc they kept hitting heads (ahem, tim and kon) .
sneaking out every once in a while, i also feel like they’d stumble across stuff they shouldn’t and expose it.
the sleepovers and breaking the rules for fun but not in a mean way. study sessions that turn into long conversations that are sometimes deep but sometimes so silly.
they make a yt channel/social media about their adventures at this boarding school.
and this boarding school is kinda old, so there’s gonna be secrets and random lore, esp with the teachers. so ofc they’d do that!! maybe some teachers are really bad.
like a teacher known for being terrible to students yet is still at the job and yj annoys them so much that they quit.
another teacher who actually is a part of a criminal agency bc teachers don’t get paid enough to begin with and they want money.
essentially, modern boarding school au where they are semi popular on social media (doing the trends, as one does) and kind of on youtube (they’re just funny, and what the hell are they getting themselves into?? conspiracies?? leaves you hooked, maybe this is where they have their superhero names and disguises so they can remain anonymous)
just the vibes would be so fun!! like let’s see them bond.

Tobin and the joshes will be murdered one by one or maybe in holocaust camps. Cps… well too late.
You’re almost dead anyhow I guess. It’s just that there’s nothing there. Empty mind.
Awe children
You think I don’t know, huh Tobin?
Awe. Not yours baby. Next.
Josh, Jill yourself kill
Baby, you will. Look at stupid Tobin or jealous stupid incestuous Megan.
Josh, to be honest with you I don’t actually need you to ever speak again I need your mouth sewn shut in fat. Yeah actually those are not your sounds.
In fact
No that’s not inside of Jessica and I’m really really really tired of you running your cock sucker because I’m going to have both of you sewn together and then you can be Evelyn Evelyn.
In somebody’s basement in Mexico

AO3 roundup 2023
for the first time in many years i actually wrote things. this is largely because i daisy chained fic exchanges for pretty much the entire year, but whatever works, right?
anyway, my new year resolution last year was to write more and i ended up writing 70,980 words across 11 fics. which is, i think, a big success.
1899
werewolf heart | maura franklin/eyk larsen/daniel solace | 7K
part werewolf story, part butchering of selkie lore, all set on an abandoned, haunted steamship
'cause he knows it's all worthwhile, he told me | eyk larsen/daniel solace | 4K
post canon fic exploring the dangers of being pulled early from a cryosleep
mine, yours, and how it went | eyk larsen/daniel solace | 7K
part 1 - daniel doesn't abandon his son at the first opportunity, and eyk is seduced by a sad, wet man attempting to be a dad
the truth has always been a lie | eyk larsen/daniel solace | 17K
part 2 - daniel and maura have coded conversations, elliot is sad, and eyk continues to be slowly seduced by daniel's lacklustre parenting
From
your pleasure's set upon slow release | jade herrera/jim matthews | 5K
jim is schrodinger's widow until tabitha comes back and opens the box. or jade invites himself into jim's bed
Indiana Jones
never knew the cold hand of danger; til i met this one and let it inside | klaber/jurgen voller | 7K
klaber visits voller's classroom at the university of alabama, a possible look into why klaber is so loyal
Project Blue Book
mass migration | j allen hynek/michael quinn | 2K
an entire forest uproots and moves while quinn blindly steps into a precurser to a threesome
a blood pact of sorts | mimi hynek/susie miller | 1K
mimi takes a sledgehammer to a bomb shelter and susie helps
The Nice Guys
for the good life is out there somewhere | holland march/jackson healy | 1K
jackson teaches holland how to take a punch to the face
The Quarry
every fortress falls | travis hackett/laura kearney | 9K
basically a 5 times fic, spanning the entire game. highlighting touch and moments of kindness, sometimes at the same time
and finally, my magnum opus
The Departed
posthumously | billy costigan/sean dignam | 5K
snapshots of a life in slow recovery. or billy survives the bullet and now he has to survive dignam trying to be nice
here's to 2024 and hopefully another productive year !

By Matt Grobar
EXCLUSIVE: Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary), Timothy V. Murphy (Appaloosa) and Bruce Greenwood (The Fall of the House of Usher) have boarded The Fabulous Four, a new comedy from Bleecker Street, which has entered production in Georgia under an Interim Agreement from SAG-AFTRA.
The actors join an ensemble that also includes Susan Sarandon, Bette Midler, and Megan Mullally, as previously announced. Ralph takes over the role of Sissy Spacek, who was attached as of last fall but was forced to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Bleecker Street nabbed North American rights to the pic last October and will release the film in U.S. theaters in 2024. UTA Independent Film Group and CAA Media Finance arranged the financing and brokered the deal for U.S. rights, with Sierra/Affinity repping international sales.
Written and directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse, the Cannes prize-winner best known for her Kate Winslet pic The Dressmaker, the film follows three life-long friends (Sarandon, Mullally, and Ralph) who travel to Key West, Florida to be bridesmaids in a surprise wedding of their college girlfriend Marilyn (Midler). Once there, sisterhoods are rekindled, the past rises up again in all its glory, and there are enough sparks, drinks and romance to change all their lives in ways they never expected.
Richard Barton Lewis’ Southpaw Entertainment is producing alongside Lauren Hantz of Hantz Motion Pictures.
An icon of stage and screen, Ralph has won an Emmy and numerous other accolades for her portrayal of kindergarten teacher Barbara Howard on Abbott Elementary, the ABC mockumentary that has emerged as one the most popular scripted series on linear. The show, created by and starring Quinta Brunson, was renewed for a third season in January but only recently returned to the writers’ room, following the conclusion of the WGA strike. Otherwise perhaps best known for her Tony-nominated turn as Deena Jones in Broadway’s Dreamgirls, Ralph has also been seen in Mistress with Robert de Niro, To Sleep with Anger with Danny Glover, The Distinguished Gentlemen with Eddie Murphy, and Sister Act 2 with Whoopi Goldberg, along with such series as Moesha and Ray Donovan.
Most recently recurring on Law & Order: Organized Crime and ABC’s The Company You Keep, Murphy previously reprised his role in Uni’s comedy MacGruber on the same-name Peacock series. Other recent credits for the actor on the TV side include S.W.A.T., Snowpiercer, Westworld, and True Detective, to name just a few. Additional feature credits include In Full Bloom, The Lone Ranger, and National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
Greenwood puts in a stellar turn as Fortunato Pharmaceuticals CEO Roderick Usher in Netflix’s Edgar Allen Poe-inspired miniseries The Fall of the House of Usher from Mike Flanagan, which bowed on the platform earlier this month. He also recently starred in the Fox medical drama The Resident, which ran for six seasons, and will soon appear in fantasy pic The Invisibles with Tim Blake Nelson and Gretchen Mol, among other projects.
At this year’s Toronto Film Festival, Bleecker Street nabbed U.S. rights to James Hawes’ One Life, starring Anthony Hopkins, and the starry British comedy Fackham Hall, which goes into production next year. The company also locked down UK rights, alongside Elysian Film Group and Anonymous Content, to Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron. Upcoming releases include the Meg Ryan-helmed rom-com What Happens Later, coming to theaters November 3, which she leads with David Duchovny, and Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson’s Waitress: The Musical, out December 7 with Fathom Events.

Just heard about the possible confirmed cancellation of YJA and I need.. I dunno. Do you have wisdom or comfort? :(. I’m at a loss so I’m turning to my favorite blog
Hey <3 I usually like to answer my asks in order but I feel urs is better addressed now because i’m sure a lot of ppl share the same sentiment which I understand, it’s a show that’s important to so many of us and it would be amazing to get confirmed for a fifth season.
Below are some screenshots that I feel might help clarify the situation a bit:
Tumblr media
For those who might not knw Chris Jones he’s done a lot of art for YJ, including story boarding and is also the artist behind YJ Targets. He’s also gd friends with Greg. Some context to what he’s saying is that when YJ first got renewed from it’s actual post season 2 cancellation years later, it was only renewed for one season by the DC Universe streaming/production service. After season 3 came to an end if i remember correctly it was around 3 months before we even got word on a possible season 4. When it was confirmed that it would be serviced by HBO Max, this was only again for one season. Basically the show gets renewed on a season by season basis, which isn’t atypical, most HBO Max originals (e.x Our Flag means death) also only got renewed months later on an individual season basis.
One of the biggest problems with the production behind YJ in recent years is that it’s always been by a platform that’s going through major changes and again as y’all might have heard, now that Discovery and Warner have merged, there’s major shake up everywhere especially HBO Max. This means any expected time frame of these things is much less predictable. Considering when things were relatively “stable” there was still a considerable waiting time on news, now with all that’s going on with WB the “waiting time” on things will be longer. But YJ isn’t in any different state now compared to months ago, there is no news on the matter. Right now it’s a topic of whether it’ll get renewed or not, not so much about cancellation. The latest news report on it was just some staff member saying that theres no update on YJ situation but it got spun into something completely different to worry a lot of fans.
The best we can do for this type of situation is understand wats actually going on and also try to help in all the renewal efforts that a lot of ppl organise (mainly through the #RenewYoungJustice #SaveEarth16 and #YoungJustice tags on twitter) . A good way to stay updated on this is through the YJ Reddit and Discord which often clarify all this and where I stay updated. Below is a good explanation on the subject :
Tumblr media
Basically, the best we can do is take part in those projects and stream the show as much as we can on HBO Max to show our support.
It also doesn’t hurt to purchase the YJ Targets comics to show support ! If anything, it would show support in the franchise itself (helping our chances with Renewal). We could even get more comics too if there’s enough public interest.
These things can be rlly upsetting so I hope I managed to clarify and maybe even share some comfort in the clarification of the situation and hope I can keep sharing YJ content (let’s be real in my case it’s mainly Bart Allen material lol) for ppl to enjoy with me :)
