Kuan Yin
* * * *
“In the months and years following my participation in the completion of Oracle of Compassion: the Living Word of Kuan Yin, I did, in accordance with the deity’s former declaration—that she would continue sending important dreams, experience many dreams and visitations from Kuan Yin. It was after completing the transcription of some of the Kuan Yin quotes that I fell into a deep slumber. Just before awakening, I dreamt of Kuan Yin standing in my living room directly in front of the marble-tiled fireplace wherein Lena Lees and I would hold prayer circles.
So real was this vision that I could hear the deity’s sweet voice explain that there is a specific meditation for connecting with the Celestial Wisdom! Witnessing Kuan Yin lie face down on the Oriental Carpet with arms outstretched over Her head, I watched as Her thumb and forefinger formed a triangle—the dhyana mudra specifically designated to Kannon called the dhyana mudra displayed by the fourth Dhyani Buddha Amitabha, also known as Amitayus Kuan Yin. It was then that Kuan Yin further explained the significance of this specific mudra; that it acts similar to a capstone on an obelisk—drawing wisdom to one who has demonstrated intention to be a teacher of wisdom.
Aware that Kuan Yin was pointed in a northward direction, I surmised this particular alignment was also a significant aspect of the meditation—that this specific positioning was most ideal for receiving answers for prayers directed to the Her. Later in the dream, it was confirmed that each person attracts from the universe, realities that are aligned with their specific beliefs and values.” ― Hope Bradford CHt, Kuan Yin Buddhism:: The Kuan Yin Parables, Visitations and Teachings

RAINBOW GURU
In Rewalsar, known as Tso Pema in Tibetan, he secretly taught tantric teachings to princess Mandarava, the local king's daughter. The king found out and tried to burn him, but it is believed that when the smoke cleared he was found to be just sitting there, still alive and in meditation. Thus the king was greatly astonished by this miracle, the king offered Padmasambhava both his kingdom and Mandarava.
Padmasambhava then left with Mandarava, and took to Maratika Cave in Nepal to practice secret tantric consort rituals.
They had a vision of buddha Amitayus and achieved what is called the Rainbow body of the great transference in the Vajrayana tradition, a very rare type of spiritual realization.Practitioners of Padmasambhava's terma still achieve this type of realization today. Both Padmasambhava and Mandarava are still believed to be alive and active in this Rainbow Body form by their followers. She and Padmasambhava's other main consort, Yeshe Tsogyal who was responsible for hiding his numerous terma later in Tibet became fully enlightened.

Amitabha Buddha Mandala
Hasta Thangka Art Center wrote : Amitabha Buddha is being portrayed as Shakyamuni Buddha but usually, he is often depicted seated in meditation mudra while earth touching mudra is reserved for a seated Shakyamuni Buddha alone. In Tibetan Buddhism, Amitabha is red in color (red being the color of love, compassion, and emotional energy). He is being known to protect beings from the negative emotions of attachment his unique emblem is the lotus.
He is thus associated with the attributes of the lotus: gentleness, openness, and purity. Amitabha is known as the red Buddha of the west and the most ancient among the Five Dhyani Buddhas of the Vajrayana tradition. Amitabha means infinite light and he is also known as “Amitayus” or Buddha of the infinite life. A mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Asian cultures.
It can be understood in two different ways: externally as a visual representation of the universe or internally as a guide for several practices that take place in many Asian traditions, including meditation. In Hinduism and Buddhism, the belief is that by entering the mandala and proceeding towards its center, you are guided through the cosmic process of transforming the universe from one of suffering into one of joy and happiness.

Notes, Japanese, Romaji & Spotify Track:
パクッとキメんぞ: it means to bite down/take illegal drugs. So he’s like “Let’s get high - but legally!”. I wasn’t exactly sure how to translate it as I’m not sure what drugs he’s referring to (although パクッと refers to eating/biting). I chose to go with “let’s get cracking” to refer to both tripping, but also “to get started”. You could probably also say something like “Let’s crush it!”. This “legal high” has been a reoccurring theme for THE MADNA. They want to give people this unique thrill and natural high that only they as a band can offer. One you can taste by going to their lives and listening to their music. They want people to get hooked. They want to provide some excitement in people’s everyday lives and stimulate or give them a reason to keep living and pushing forward. A place to escape from the hardships of reality.
文明開化: Civilization and enlightenment; Japan's Westernization movement during the Meiji era (Westernisation).
極楽浄土: One of the Buddhist pure lands known as Sukhavati or Amitabha's Pure Land in Mahayana Buddhism. It is associated with Amitayus, the Buddha of Eternal Life, is also known as Amitābha. Also commonly referred to as the Western Pure Land or Western Paradise.
“The Buddha of Infinite Light (Sanskrit, Amitabha), is lord of the Pure Land called the Western Paradise. Devotees believe that absolute faith in Amitabha entitles a person to be reborn in that paradise.”
共感覚: Synaesthesia - a neurological condition in which you experience one of your senses through another. In other words a crossing of the senses.
脳天に問うぜdirect: 脳天 is used to mean head/skull/brains. But it also has a higher level nuance like “at the top of your head” / “your entire skull”. I got thinking about the nature of the song and if one asked the top of their head, what exactly would they find? It lead me to question what exactly the highest part of the mind is. There are varying levels of consciousness and stages of the mind. This song continually references Buddhism and spirituality/enlightenment and it got me thinking that it could be referring to spiritual inquiry, connecting to your higher self and going past the conscious and subconscious mind and into the state of superconscious which is a very powerful state. The superconscious mind has no boundaries and contains infinite possibilities and energy. It is believed that access is granted by strengthening the higher mind.
巻き込んでくぜ : it means to get involved in something. I chose to go with the phrase “suck you in” as it also echoes the following: when something completely takes all of a person's attention, to physically pull someone or something in, to attract by using an inexorable force.
天上天下唯我独尊: It is considered to be a well-known statement of the Buddha, spoken when the Buddha first emerged from his mother's womb. It's said that after Buddha Sakayuni was born, he took 7 steps from his mother and said this while pointing to both heaven and earth. The meaning of the phrase means something like "I am the highest in this world; I am foremost in this world; I am the best in this world; this is the last birth; there is no further becoming here."
頂天: He says てっぺん (teppen) which means the top, summit or highest point of something. It’s similar to 頂点 (chouten). There is a different more commonly used kanji combination for ‘teppen’, but I guess he chose this combination as 天 has to do with the skies/heavens. They’re aiming to be the best.
殺死骸南無demo蟻 (ころしがいなんでもあり): When translating, I focused on the meaning of the hiragana. Ryota stylised this line using a combination of the kanji for 殺 kill + 死骸 dead bodies + 南無 amen/hail (Buddhism) + demo + 蟻 ant. The written format is kinda gibberish and I think most likely he’s just playing with the words. In this case he is putting kanji with the hiragana that have the same pronunciation and has chosen the ones with the darkest vibes. Elements of Buddhism, one of Japan’s main religions, are also continually referenced throughout the song. I don’t really have any good ideas how to link it all together which is why I have focused on what he is saying rather than what is written. Can only ask the main source, so if ever find out I’ll let you know.
Nandemoari is a phrase meaning things like “anything goes”, “anything can happen” or “there’s no telling what’s going to happen”. This is another one of THE MADNA’s key concepts and one of philosophies in which the band was formed - being a band that isn’t restricted in what they do or the music they create. They are open to anything and the possibilities are endless.
So if you can take anything away from this experience, it’s to just let yourself get high on the natural energy of THE MADNA, a place where anything goes, a place where you can just be yourself, a place where people can come together and co-exist with this insane “love & peace” band and its members. Because we’re all a little mad here, right? :3

THE TRADE OF PRISONER’S HONEY is a very well known one in the streets of fallen london. it’s the most popular drug of choice for everyone in any part of society, it’s extremely popular in artistic or high-end societies, socialities and the creative-minded often meeting in honey dens to find artistic inspiration or to experience stronger sensual pleasures; ingesting it transports the user’s soul to either parabola ( the world of dreams ) or to an area right outside the mansus, in most cases; its dream-like state blending often with the other, allowing users to experience things they might otherwise not have were they not privy to or without the innate ability to. it’s both used for a past time and as a currency, in other cases; some places not being able to be accessed without it as an offering.
when their soul is separated from their body, its not uncommon for habitual users of prisoner’s honey to have their bodies wake before they do; walking around in an apparent drunken state called “honey-mazed.” their bodies are present in reality, but their minds and senses are elsewhere until it wears off. they’re usually found wandering the streets muttering absolute nonsense; and since it’s such a common sight, left alone to come out of their lucid state.
there are also variants of the sought-after drug: gaoler’s honey--a blood-red honey like substance that allows users to experience another’s memories (at the excruciating agony of the seen). and cardinal’s honey--a tar black sap that allows users to access the memories and dreams of the dead, though more often than not it’s used for its other purpose: as a very potent assassination tool.
the reason behind all of the deeper explanations behind something seemingly mundane is entirely due to the fact amitayus, your local demon tradescrafter, bleeds it. or rather, it’s more accurate to say that that’s what’s in their veins over blood, or anything blood-like. as a result, they’re proficient in the honey trade, and well known throughout london’s underbelly. there’s not really ... anything any human law can do to stop them, as it is; being an infernal and all, so they’ve been involved in it for quite some time. a result of their abnormality is the fact the honey itself is slowly rotting them from the inside out, their features almost twisting and melting and distorting over time--but they pay no mind to it! demons are unique in their blood, or what-would-be, and by all accounts they can’t really be killed permanently, so whatever happens to them, happens! they have a fun time dabbling in all circles, so it’s hardly a loss.
