Cabin 6’s newest member AnaArts says "My favorite activity at Camp Half-Blood would probably be Arts and Crafts, I would love for all of the kids of Hephaestus, Rachel, and even some from the Apollo cabin to come together and create everything from art, music, and poetry to weapons, little gadgets or other things that can be used to prank the other campers."

Introducing Deka, the founder of the Deka Clan! This is what myth and legend say about her, but who knows what's true and what isn't? wink wink nudge nudge

Clans indicate ethnicity and what job you will work. Dekas all have white hair, and generally have pale skin, dark eyes, and wavy hair after their founder (not all Dekas look like this, however! Take a peak at my post on Stewjoni names for more information on this one). Most of Deka's descendants today work as farmers or ranchers, though some do become botanists or go into animal care.

Fun fact, Deka was the first person to train the wyverns that live in her land to help with tasks such as farming, lifting heavy things, herding, and other farm jobs. For the time being, we've named her dragon Meep (We being me) (Yes I'll change it... eventually)

And it came to be that Deka was born in the thirty-fifth year before the Establishment of Stewjon, to parents Trevi and Gratill, who bore thereafter Domann, and thereafter Dair, and thereafter Dunum, and thereafter two babes who died before ner’Caill. And it had been that the people of the time learned to grow one crop to sustain themselves, never more.

And Deka had Knowledge of crops that the earth itself had given her, knowledge that had been forgotten in the ignorance of the people of the Before Times. Blessed be her bounty by the planet and by Achla, for they grew fast and kept long. A loaf of bread made from her wheat could feed a village for ten days and ten nights; one apple from her orchid could heal wounds and cure sickness. She had the Knowledge of growing crops that no eye had seen before, in conditions that were impossible to grow in. Yet Achla urged her child to keep her talents hidden, for the Rhamll were fearful and would have killed their daughter for her Achla-granted gifts in their ignorance.

And it came to be the Wars of Establishment, and the coldest winters on record descended on Stewjon. Fields froze and crops withered, and the Rhamll-Stewjoni starved in their darkness. And Achla saw this and wept, for she had no want for her people to suffer. And Achla said unto Deka, “You must reveal yourself unto our people, for I have given you your gifts for such a time as this.” And in service to Achla herself, Deka revealed her power during this Sorrow and worked without rest to feed her people. And the people saw that Deka could save them, and they rejoiced, for she saved many lives during Dha’Gortach.

And it came to be in the Time of Peace that Deka laid claim to the green land west of the Ishwern mountains, and said unto her followers, “And you Know what I Know, for it is my duty to spread my gifts to those who chose to learn.” And she called this green land Unatna and said unto her followers, “We shall grow all the food for all the planet, for all the planet is now our people, and we shall feed our people, and they shall be satisfied.” And it came to be that she dyed her ner’caill anaart green and said unto her followers, “There will be no more tribes, only clans. And those with ner’caill anaarts dyed green as the trees above and grass below shall belong to my Clan, Kanne Deka, and be known henceforth as the People of the Soil.” And the people upon the land now known as Unatna dyed their ner’caill anaarts green and rejoiced in the light of Achla’s knowledge, and grew many seasons of bountiful harvest, and all was good.
