Y'all can bet your ass I'm gatekeeping the hell out of Hayden, the same way I did Andrew, from the people who talked shit about him all those years ago and then go on to pretend like they've loved him this entire time.

The loud clicks as well as the bright flashes only got louder and brighter after Andrew and Y/n stepped out of their car, heading into the venue. It was understandable, both were up for very prestigious awards tonight, Andrew for best actor and Y/n for directing as well as writing. But of course paparazzi didn’t care about that, they wanted what sold, and pictures of the couple sold.
The couple was also making their first appearance since their ten year anniversary, they had co-starred in Spider-man together. They were twenty-eight then and both in that place in life to settle down with someone, while still putting their best foot forward for their careers. They fit together like pieces of a puzzle, like she was the espresso and he was the milk to a cappuccino.
It took them a while to get married, only being three years of marriage in a ten year relationship, many people at the time pushed for them to take that step. But they knew what was right for them, and they both grew tired of saying ‘boyfriend’ and ‘girlfriend’ when they could be saying ‘husband’ and ‘wife’.
Throughout the carpet they whispered sweet nothings and little jokes only they would understand. It was something the internet loved, how, unlike some celebrity couples, you could see the love in their eyes. After ten years it has never left, forever stuck in the honeymoon phase while knowing each other like the back of their hand.
After what felt like an hour, they finally made their way into the venue, venturing out of their seats to mingle, but mostly enjoying the night out together in peace. Not trying to think about the awards they were nominated for.
-
It was now the end of the night, both a little tipsy, Y/n already won for best original screenplay. But now was for the big awards, two of which the couple were nominated for, only making it all the more nerve racking.
“And best directing goes to…” The booming voice on stage spoke, of course stalling as they always did for dramatic affect. It was as if a Y/n was no longer there, like she was merely watching at home on a screen, dreaming she was the director to win.
The only indication it had been announced, is the warm and firm hug Andrew brought her into. Leaving a kiss on her forehead in congratulation, but also of pride. His wife won best director.
“Love, I am so proud of you. You deserve this.”
His words brought her back to life, as they always did, looking up at him she left a kiss on his lips, herself and him whispering ‘I love you’s against each other's soft lips. They didn’t care that they were on live TV, they were celebrating. After quickly getting hugs from the cast and crew that were there, Y/n made her way up the stage, accepting the award.
“I truly just had an out of body experience. This has been a dream since I was- god like thirteen, when I took my first film class. Mrs. Goldstone, thank you for fighting for that class to be given at my school. If it wasn’t I wouldn't be here. And to my husband, Andrew, I wouldn’t be here if you didn’t push me to pursue directing six years ago. I love you.”
After thanking the cast and crew, as well as the academy, Y/n made her way off the stage. Only to run backstage to her seat, not wanting to miss the best actor award.Coming back to her seat she was huffing and puffing from all the running, “What? Did you run here?” “Yes, actually.”
Turning his head, left another string of kisses from the woman’s forehead to her check, “I’m so proud of you.”
“And the nominees for best actor!” The camera panned to the respective actors as the man on stage read off the names, “And the award for best actor goes to… Andrew Garfield! Tick, Tick… Boom!”
Both rose from their chairs, smiling widely, and bringing each other into a tight hug, “My turn to be proud. You deserve this, I love you.” “I love you.”
Andrew made his way to the stage this time, accepting the award, shaking the hands out everyone on stage before he made his way to the microphone, “I just can only say thank you. I know everyone says it, but I did not see this coming. I want to thank every member of the cast as well as the crew, you made this movie possible. And Lin, thank you, I love working with you. And my wife, who lied to Lin when he asked her if I could sing. Without you immediately lying for me, this wouldn’t be possible. I love you.”

golden
words: 3,355 ship: austin butler x reader summary: (anon request) “Reader who ends up seated next to Austin/his table and he’s a fan of hers she’s kinda A-List” visit here to read more about this prompt!   notes: requests are back open! leave anything if you wish :)  warnings: none - for anyone worried/curious, this is an alternate golden globes, so LMP is not referenced in this fic.  tag list: @killerqueenfan, @karamelcoveredolicity, @elizabethrosecresswell, @gigisworldsstuff, @stylesmendeshearted, @rairaielv,
This is honestly the last place you expected to be.
You suppose your journey into stardom is as typical as anyone else’s in the industry—small starts, B side films, extras, constantly trying, consistent auditions, until someone saw you. Until you started sliding into places where you never thought you’d ever be given the chance.
You’ve had two breakout films, invited to plenty of award shows, events, red-carpets, but never the Golden Globes. That’s…that’s reserved for people who have really made it, and apparently that’s you now. Your first film was with your ex-boyfriend as a co-star, so really, any notoriety mostly went to him. He was the bigger name and didn’t share the spotlight very well. At the time it didn’t really matter to you, you were just happy to be living out your dream in being on a set.
It wasn’t until your second film that you did with your agent’s help that you realized how important it was to be recognized—how much hard work you accomplished that you deserved to be seen for. You suppose that’s the whole point of tonight, right?
It’s still surreal, no matter how many times you tell yourself that you’re actually attending the Globes. You get all dressed up in designer names, a flowing black dress that have tiny suns and moons with thin straps, sparkly but not over the top. Golden heels to match your gold accent earrings and makeup, a maroon lipstick. You’re really not trying to make any impressions on photographers or blogs, headlines—you like showing out for yourself and tonight, you just want to go and have a good time.
Maybe even win something, though you’ll be happy if you’re walking on the carpet and don’t end up tripping.
That’s another thing that you can’t seem to swallow—not only is your film being recognized, but you’re being nominated for lead actress. Just doesn’t make any sense, to be listed amongst people who have had more experiences and fruitful careers than you have. You know that everyone has a breakout year, and this is most definitely yours, but that doesn’t mean you’re not struggling heavily with imposter syndrome.
You bring a lifelong friend as a date because that makes the most sense, they’ve been by your side and a constant wall of support since the 8th grade. And besides, Sam is sturdy, he’ll make sure you’re not going to embarrass the fuck out of yourself on the red-carpet.
The whole event is as overwhelming, exciting and chaotic as you thought it would be. The carpet takes the longest, lots of questions, trivia, games to play as you stop and pose for photos, introduce Sam, and run into handfuls of celebrities that you’ve admired for years.
“My face has to be red,” You eventually say as you enter the venue, walking with your arm around his as you go to find your table, “Like—you’d tell me right? My makeup is completely worthless at this point?”
He chuckles as he gives you a onceover, “Oh yeah, you look terrible now.” He says wryly, big grin on his face. He squeezes your arm, “Stop worrying, you look beautiful. How are you gonna handle winning your award if you can’t even talk to Andrew Garfield on the red-carpet?”
You groan, tipping your head back a little. Definitely were not prepared for that—and he was as sweet and as handsome in person as you always thought he would be. You’re just lucky you remembered your name and were able to form decent coherent sentences…you can’t recall at all what you discussed but it was good while it was happening, so, you suppose that’s all that matters.
Also, “Stop jinxing me. Do you see the names I’m up against? I’m lucky I was even nominated.”
Sam rolls his eyes but not because he thinks you’re being ridiculous or because he doesn’t respect the other names. You know him—he just wants you to realize how far you’ve come and that you rank just like anyone else. It’s a nice sentiment. But right now, all you realize is that you’re far too sober to deal with the anxiety that comes with this event.
Squeezing his arm, you find your table, scooting around to the nametag that has yours on it. Sam pulls away to get some drinks and you take a deep breath, smoothing your hands down your dress, smiling at a few other people lingering around at other tables. You turn to get a good look at the stage and…actually consider what it’d be like to win, how you’d even walk there and the steps look daunting—
And of course you bump right into someone.
“God, I’m sorry.” You say at the same time he replies, “Shit, my bad.”
Looking up, your mouth goes dry and your eyes go kinda wide as you realize it’s Austin Butler. And of course you’re a fan because how could you not be? For one, he’s incredibly dreamy, especially in person. All tall, long lines, sharp frame, rings on his slender hands, bright blueness of his eyes, the fullness of his lips and the wide blonde curls of his hair. If that’s not distracting enough, you know how talented he is. Even before Elvis, all the shows and films he’s been a part of, it’s what makes this build-up so special for him tonight.
He's earned this place.
“Hi,” Austin smiles, before you can even get any other words out, “I didn’t think I’d be runnin’ into you tonight, literally,” He chuckles, “I’m a big fan.”
You blink at him because what? You are ninety percent sure you’re having some sort of aneurysm and hallucinating this whole conversation. He’s a fan of yours? “Uhm,” You laugh, “You’re one to talk, I mean Elvis was incredible. I don’t even have the proper words to describe how I felt watching it.”
He nods, dipping his head a little in a way that you can tell he’s humbled. You’ve admittedly watched him in interviews before, especially with everything that has had to do with Baz’s film. He’s somehow this mix of confidence and nerves that’s so enjoyable to watch. He’s the same person who trained his voice and studied Elvis for two to three years and then he’s somehow…surprised? When he receives compliments.
Amazing.
“Thank you,” He smiles, something more genuine, “I’ve really enjoyed your films too you know.”
You want to roll your eyes even though you’re smiling—you don’t, you swallow down the emotion, but at this point you figure if anyone brings up your movies right after receiving praise they’re just doing their civic duty in being polite.
Austin seems to sense your hesitation however, because he adds, “I’m serious—your last film especially was raw, your portrayal stuck with me for days after I saw it.”
And despite being absolutely nervous about this whole thing, that observation actually means a lot to you. Especially coming from someone like him, “Thank you.” You open your mouth to say something else when Sam comes back round the table with some glasses of wine.
Austin smiles a little and excuses himself, going to talk to Baz as he spots him coming closer to his table. Letting out a frazzled sigh, you take the wine from Sam who’s giving you that look that you don’t even need to unpack.
“Don’t,” You warn, shaking your head as you take a sip.
Sam shrugs, smiling as he sits down at the table, “Wasn’t gonna say anything…” And there’s a brief pause, until, “Other than he’s single.”
You laugh, your cheeks flushing pink at the very thought. “Stop, he’s just being polite anyways. That’s what you do at these sort of things, you small talk with people, give compliments, that sort of thing.” Besides, who knows if you would have even had a conversation if you hadn’t crashed into one another.
“Just seems like he might have been into you, that’s all.”
How…could Sam even know that from one observation? “He’s a Leo,” You mumble, “He’s into everybody.”
Your friend laughs and that makes an amused smile decorate your face as well as you shake your head and take a seat. It’s going to be a long, interesting night.
--
The tables are sat pretty close together and the way people are seated, if you turn in your seat to watch the stage, you’re a few inches away from where Austin is. His back would be to you if he also wasn’t situated sideways so he can watch people accept awards too. It’s kind of difficult to concentrate on anything else, your eyes meet up every so often, and Austin has become accustomed to tilting his head in your direction and whispering about something happening around the room.
It's intoxicating, the attention, the fact that you can smell his cologne, nearly feel the heat of his body from his proximity. Unfair, really. It’s nice though at the same time, because Austin clearly has that personality in which he makes anyone around him comfortable, talks to them as if you’ve known one another for a long time.
There are small breaks throughout the ceremony and the closer it gets to announcing lead actor and actress, you can tell Austin’s thoughts are beginning to drift. Taking a soft breath, you reach to pick up your wine and take a sip,
“This is your first time, right?” You ask, meaning the Golden Globes.
Tilting his head to look at you, a small smile spreads on his handsome face. “What gave it away?”
You smirk, your gaze slipping to where his hands are resting on his lap. He’s doing this thing every so often where he twists the gold ring on one of his fingers, “Because you look how I feel?”
Austin laughs lightly, moving his one hand to thread through his hair, “Fair enough.” He looks towards your table, his eyes landing on Sam, “So you uh, brought your boyfriend?”
You blink, “What? Oh, no.” Laughing softly you add, “No he’s my best friend. You brought your sister, right?”
There’s this look of understanding on Austin’s face as he nods about Sam, something deeper in the color of his eyes that you can’t quite figure out. It’s gone before you have a chance to, “Yeah, she’s a big fan of yours by the way.”
You shake your head, picking up your wine to take another sip, cheeks kissing the softest of pinks. “Stop.”
“I’m not just sayin’ that to impress you,” He smiles.
You hum in amusement, standing from your chair and smoothing your hands over your dress. “You’re trying to impress me?” And you realize the edge in your voice, the flirtation there that maybe…wasn’t there before. But you’re pretty sure you’re picking up on a particular vibe and why not run with it right?
“Maybe.” Austin smirks, his eyes looking up at you through his eyelashes and that…has to be one of the most ridiculously handsome things you’ve seen.
Definitely need this shot you’re about to offer up, “I’m gonna settle my nerves, get a shot of something. You wanna come with?” You extend both of your hands, encouraging him to take both to tug him up off the chair. Not that he needs the help, but it’s all in solidarity.
Austin raises his eyebrows, “A shot? You think that’s a good idea?”
You crinkle your nose before laughing, “It’s just one, it’s not gonna hurt anything. Probably all psychosomatic anyways.”
“Not gonna hurt anythin’?” He repeats, amused…and yet he puts both his hands in yours, standing up from his table, “Famous last words.”
--
So it turns out, Austin might be onto something because he has one shot with you and you end up doing two other ones without him. It’s in a span of a conversation, so it doesn’t feel completely off the rails? But you realize that with the combination of the wine, you’re definitely beginning to see everything under rose-colored glasses.
You suppose that was your intention though, wasn’t it?
It’s not like anyone else around you isn’t having a good time, that’s the entire point of tonight. You’re not gonna have to worry about walking up on stage anyways to accept an award, so you’re made in the shade. Between commercial breaks, you mingle with a few other people around your table, especially Austin’s sister who is so lovely and sweet (apparently runs in the family) and you even talk with Baz about your own films and aspirations and it’s…definitely a surreal moment.
Once you’re settled back into your seat, Sam leans over and whispers in your ear, “He’s been makin’ eyes at you all night.”
A shiver courses down your spine because you don’t need to ask your friend who he’s talking about. You try to ignore your stomach flip-flopping as you look over your shoulder and Austin’s gaze is definitely on you. Heat slipping right between your legs. He offers you a small smile before turning his attention back to who’s in front of him, continuing his conversation.
“He’s probably just making sure I don’t fall out of my chair…the man watched me take a third shot.”
Sam snorts, moving your glass of water a bit closer to your hand in solidarity. “Right.”
Whatever, right? You’re trying to unburden some of your nerves and if you and Austin want to spend the awards night kinda flirting with one another? You’re not about to put the brakes on that.
When the awards start up again, you find yourself holding your breath…and then Austin wins. You let out a sharp laugh and clap, cheering for him as he goes up on stage. You definitely turn a few heads but you don’t care, the room is spinning in a pleasant way and you meant everything you’ve thought about or said to Austin’s face about how he deserves this. His performance was nothing short of incredible.
And his speech follows in the same fashion—humble, thankful, smooth and touching.
Once he’s off the stage, he disappears for a little while, getting photos with the award and doing a small stretch of interviews. Once he’s back, he sets the award on his table and hugs Baz again, his sister, and finds his seat next to you.
“Congratulations.” You grin, curling your hair around your ear, “Practically a professional at accepting awards.”
Austin laughs, shaking his head, “Room definitely spins when you’re up there,” There’s a slight deeper twang to his voice compared to before, probably from nerves, but you couldn’t even tell when he was on stage. The picture of excitement and calm somehow all at once.
“Good thing I’m staying in this chair.”
Austin smiles a little before chewing on his lower lip, “You sure about that?”
Humming lightly at his teasing, you pick up your water to take a slow sip. You’re barely even paying attention to the lead actress roll-call…until your name is said.
You blink, staring at the stage as everyone turns around and looks at you. And there’s clapping. Oh my god. Sam reaches forward and laughs, shaking your shoulder, “Go girl! Get up there.”
You stand, almost in a daze but you’re smiling, running your hands down along your dress to smooth the fabric. Your heartbeat is definitely drumming in your ears, palms kinda clammy and okay, you can…you can do this. You run over what you want to say in your head once you’re on stage but you’ve got to get there first.
Then out of the corner of your eye, Austin quickly stands and offers his arm and you’ve never felt more grateful for that. He smiles, resting his other hand on yours as you grab onto him and he walks you to stage, making sure you can get up the steps without tripping over your dress. God, you so owe him. He doesn’t go back to his table either, he’s lingering, waiting for you to accept your award and walk back.
How is this man single? You ask yourself a few times, making sure that doesn’t accidently come out of your mouth as you accept the award and stand in front of the mic. There are tradeoffs as you stand on stage, looking out into the crowd, you manage to remember everyone you want to thank but your hands are definitely shaking.
Once the clapping starts, you take a step off stage to head in the direction of where everyone goes after they say their speeches to get a handful photos and respond to a few questions about receiving your award. You miscalculate one of the steps though, your heart pounding in your ears and throat and clutching tightly onto the Golden Globe and the room is spinning in that rose-colored way it does when you’ve had a little too much to drink.
Definitely would have bit the floor if Austin hadn’t been there. He’s quick, grabs your arm casually and walks with you towards your destination. You’re ninety percent sure most people who saw you have no idea you almost face-planted with a fancy award in your hands.
Stepping to the side once you’re out of the public eye, you look down at the globe in your hands and it just…you feel like you’re in some sort of dream sequence, no matter how long you’re staring at the weighted statue along your fingers, envelope-card with your name on it to confirm.
Will any amount of time make this feel real?
A soft laugh leaves your lips as you look up at Austin who moves to stand in front of you, sticking his hands into his pockets. “Please tell me that my speech at least made sense.”
He smiles a little, “You spoke in complete sentences, if that helps.”
God, you don’t even remember the words that came out of your mouth…and Austin seems too nice of a person to give it to you straight on whether you made a little bit of a fool of yourself or not.
Letting out a slow breath, you look down at the award before your eyes find his again. That calm sort of blue. You ignore the camera shutters, knowing that they’re capturing this interaction between you two but what else is new? Never a private moment.
“Thank you for everything,” You smile, “I definitely owe you one a few times over.” For the shot, for being so sweet and easy to talk to, for walking you to the stage, preventing an embarrassing tumble, the works.
“I’m sure you can make it up to me,” Austin replies, shrugging his one shoulder, “If you let me give you my number.”
A soft laugh slips from your lips before you nod, you’re still ninety percent sure that none of this is happening. “That was really smooth.” But you’re taking your phone out of the pocket in your dress and handing it over for him to type his number in.
Austin smirks, “Well if you think this is impressive, just wait.”
“Oh there’s more?” You tease, taking your phone back once he’s done. “Building up a lot of expectations.”
Expectations that you already know he’s going to pass with flying colors. When it’s time to get your professional shots with your award, Austin promises to meet you back at the tables, excusing himself to allow you to have your moment. You glance down at the globe and shake your head—can’t believe so much has happened at once, a complete whirlwind. You can’t wait to tell Sam about this.
Taking your phone out once your photos and questions are done, you take a selfie with your award to send to your parents and to Austin.
Y/N: you can set this as my contact photo
A few moments later your phone pings back, the same kinda selfie from Austin, posing with his globe as well.
Austin: same
You laugh, chewing on your lower lip as your cheeks kiss pink. You do just that, your stomach flip-flopping, butterflies in your chest as you think about your matching contact photos.
Definitely a golden night.

approach shift pt. nine
pairing: Peter Parker x f!reader (TASM/Andrew Garfield version) length: 4.3k rating: explicit 18+ warnings: Mentions of death, fingering, a quick wristy (lol)
Peter Parker is a weirdo. A hot, distracting, irritating weirdo. And you can’t afford distractions right now. So there’s only one thing to do.
a/n: Last full chapter but there will be an epilogue in the not-too-distant; I'll probably have more notes then. Thank you x

The back of your head is torturously itchy.
You try surreptitiously to press your knuckles to the spot, just to relieve the worst of it. The nurse sitting closest to you glances up at you from over the top of her monitor and guiltily, you clasp your hands back down into your lap.
It smells sour in here, like soft plums left to rot. Whichever industrial cleaner it is this hospital uses, it’s definitely not one anybody’s trying to market for domestic use. It’s probably cheap as fuck, you contemplate, your hand drifting back up towards your head.
“You can go in now,” a new nurse says beside you. You jerk your hand away. “He’s awake. I let him know you’ve been waiting.”
“Oh, thank you,” you say, unpeeling yourself from the plastic waiting room chair. “I won’t be very long. I just wanted to say hi.”
She gives you a mild, distracted okay-that’s-nice-whatever smile and disappears. You push open the door to the room she’d just exited and duck inside.
It smells far better in here. There’s a vase of opening lilies leaving red pollen-stains on the table in front of the window, and the lavender-powder smell of clean sheets. Doctor Brant is propped up in the bed, frowning hard at the tablet in his hands.
“I hope you aren’t working while you’re meant to be resting,” you say.
He tilts his head down to peer at you over his glasses. “Oh, no. It’s just sudoku. It’s good to see you.”
“You too, Doctor. How are you?”
He nods, and sets the tablet aside. “Well, they’ve finally taken me off the oxygen so I expect I’ll be allowed to leave soon. All things considered, a little smoke inhalation injury at my…advanced age could’ve been far worse.” His eyes glint a little bit. “Were you injured?”
You shake your head. “A concussion, but I’m fine. The. He. Um. You know. He got me out, before he went back for you.”
“You shouldn’t have stayed to look for me.”
You sit gingerly on the very edge of the chair next to the bed. “I thought. I didn’t think he’d made it to you in time. I thought you were both.” Your voice starts to sound weird, so you stop talking.
He folds his hands together over his chest. “It’s strange. I remember the first time I saw him. I didn’t understand what was happening. I thought it must have been a stunt, or an advertisement for something. Silly, really. And yet he’s saved Oscorp from itself more times than it deserved. After Connors and Dillon and that whole terrible disaster with young Harry. It’s too much. There’s no reason for anybody to endanger themselves in that place ever again.” He takes his glasses off and sets them beside the bed. “Which is why I’ve resigned.”
You stare at him. “You. What?”
He smiles at you; the expression a little indulgent. “All those years of work, gone. And for nothing. I’m sure you’ve already heard what happened?”
You have. It’s been all over the news the entire week. First the speculation: was it an attack? Was it political? Was it another disgruntled ex-employee? A competitor? And then, later, the worse, more boring truth: regular old corporate negligence. An undertrained technician who’d tried to prematurely purge a vac test chamber with concentrated oxygen. An alarm system two years overdue for maintenance. And floor upon floor of laboratories filled with dangerous substances, improperly stored.

Nobody else in your department was seriously hurt. But others weren’t so lucky.
“When I started with Norm, it was all about changing the world for the better. And in the end, we’ve helped nobody.” He shakes his head. “If you’ll forgive my language…Fuck Oscorp. I’m ready to start over.”
You grin at him, even though it feels a little watery. “I’m…really happy for you.” And you are. In the brief time you’ve worked under him, his passion has been obvious, but he’s always seemed so bogged down by the minutiae of red tape; appeasing a board of investors with no interest in the importance of his life’s work beyond its potential profitability.
But it also makes your already-uncertain future with the company even foggier. You’ll need to find someone else willing to offer you a similar graduate position, and you already know you won’t find anything else quite as specialised as the work he’s been doing.
He takes a sip from the glass of water beside his bed, then sits back with a sigh. “Publicly-funded research is a far less glamorous world than that of private enterprise. We’ll be relying primarily on grant funding and academic support. There won’t be any glass fountains or vertical gardens, I’m afraid.”
You nod sympathetically. “I can imagine. It’ll be a big change.”    His eyebrows draw together at you. “I would understand if your answer is no.”
You blink. “My answer?” you say, like a genius.
“If so, I would, of course, write you a glowing recommendation. And I have plenty of contacts I could put you in touch with, if you’d prefer that.”
Holy shit. Is he…? “Hold on. Are you offering me a position with you?”
“Well, yes.”
He grunts as you dart in and hug him. “Oh! Yes! I mean, of course! I would love to. Thank you so much. You won’t regret this.”
“Uh.”
You lean back as he smooths his blankets down. “Sorry,” you say, a little sheepish. “That was unprofessional.”
He tries to look stern, but it’s unconvincing. “Well, yes,” he says again. “But I’ll choose to ignore it just this once.”
You stop by to see Bear on your way home. The roller doors in the alley beside the grimy little theatre are propped open so you can see all the half-painted set pieces inside, and there’s a bunch of people dressed all in black gathered around smoking.
“Are you gonna be home tonight?” you ask, watching her inhale the deli sandwich you’d brought after correctly guessing she hadn’t stopped rehearsing long enough for lunch.
“I can be if you want,” she says, her mouth full of half-chewed food. “But I was kind of planning on staying at a friend’s.”
You press your knuckles absently against the back of your head and leer at her. “Would this friend happen to be the same person who wanted you to move in after one salad date?”
“If you don’t stop scratching your stitches I’m calling the hospital and narcing to your doctor. And yes.”
You make a face. “I’m not even touching them!”
She stuffs the rest of the sandwich in her mouth and wipes her hands on her jeans. “I’m seriously cool not to go, though. It’s totally fine.”
She’s barely left you alone since you got back from the emergency room, even setting alarms and checking up on you throughout the first couple of nights. You know for a fact she’s had to cancel other plans for you—again. You shake your head. “No, go. I kind of want some alone time anyway.”
It’s another cold, bright afternoon. You walk into the feet of your shadow and spread your fingers beside your body as your arms move, watching them elongating out on the pavement in front of you, lost in thought. You’ve been lost in thought a lot, lately.
You’re just past the end of your block when you catch sight of the figure sitting on the stairs outside your building. Long legs in faded jeans are stretched out and crossed over at the ankles, and there’s duct tape around the toe of one sneaker. You slow to a halt on the sidewalk. A woman behind you huffs with irritation, veering around you, a giant paper grocery bag clutched in her arms.
He looks up from his cracked phone screen as you draw level with your door. His hair is as chaotic as ever, stuck up in every direction, except for at the nape of his neck, where it curls gently around in little flicks. He looks tired. He’s always looked tired, the whole time you’ve known him, but you notice it differently now. Like the holes in his jeans, and the bruise on his jaw, and the angry-sore-looking blisters on his knuckles.
He smiles a little, jerking you out of your silent staring. “Hi. Sorry. I didn’t wanna just show up unannounced. I’ve been trying to call, but,” he holds his phone up, and you shake your head.
“My phone was—”
“Yeah, I figured.”
The wind lifts the edge of your scarf and shivers under the neck of your coat. There’s something sweet in the air; like cinnamon sugar, maybe someone baking from one of the open windows overhead. “Do you want to come inside?”
His expression is soft as he considers you, looking up through his lashes. “Okay.”
Neither of you speak on the trip upstairs. Your hand accidentally brushes his as you reach out for the elevator buttons, and you both pull away, as awkward and over-polite as strangers.
He stands a respectful distance back as you open your door, and you lead him inside, waving your hand vaguely toward the sofa. “Do you want a drink?”
He folds himself into the seat nearest the window, hunching over and shoving his hands between his knees. A cold drift of sun touches his jaw. “Um, no thanks, it’s cool.”
You sit down beside him, folding your hands across your lap like you’re about to get a class picture taken.
He chews his lip, runs his thumbs over his burned hands. Outside, a car horn beeps. “It’s not because I didn’t trust you,” he starts. “If you’re wondering. I don’t want you thinking that’s the reason.”
“It’s okay,” you say. “You don’t need to explain.”
“I just want you to know—”
“I know.” You try to smile at him, and it feels a little watery. “I get it. I know why you couldn’t tell me.”
His brows bend together just enough to mark out a pained line. “I’m sorry.”
You shake your head. “Really. Don’t be.”
It falls silent in your living room. The little clay pinch pot in the centre of the coffee table Bear had brought home from the artists’ market watches you both watching one another; soft-skinned and tender as nervous newborn things.
“You might die doing this,” you finally point out. “One day. All those times you’ve been hurt. You might…not come home.”
He nods at the floor. “Which is why I couldn’t really ask you to, you know. Waste your time with—” he waves his hands vaguely back and forth between your bodies. “It’s not worth it. And, like, trust me, I would never, ever want to drag you into any of the shit I’m involved with. I didn’t mean to fuck you around so long, knowing you wouldn’t...” He looks back at you, his dark eyes soft. “It was just. The happiest I’ve been in a really long time. I couldn’t stop myself. I’m sorry. It was shitty of me. Selfish.”
You stare at him for a few seconds in stunned disbelief. Then you laugh. You don’t mean to, and his head jerks back, startled. “Are you serious?” you manage.
His eyes are huge. “Uh. Yeah?”
You laugh again. It sounds a little manic. “You’re unbelievable.”
He flushes. “Could you maybe quit laughing at me when I’m trying to—”
“Peter. You saved my fucking life. Twice. Even after I was a total asshole to you. You saved me.”
He shifts uncomfortably in his seat. “Yeah, look, I don’t want you to feel weird about that. Like, it’s totally, one-hundred-percent not a big deal and I never want anybody to feel like—”
“You help people. Strangers. Every day. For nothing. And they aren’t even grateful. The things people write about you.” He hasn’t moved, and you realise you’re talking louder than you need to, considering he’s right in front of you. “You’re the least selfish person I’ve ever met,” you tell him, emphatic, needing him to get it. “You’re a good person, Peter. I’m so sorry I didn’t see that before.” Your voice breaks a little and it’s embarrassing, but not as embarrassing as the fact that your vision has gone blurry and your cheeks feel suddenly too hot.
You stop and breathe for a few moments, willing yourself not to cry. He doesn’t say anything, just studies the edge of the rug as though he’s pretending not to notice, and you’re grateful.
Then, quietly, he takes a breath. “I was going to tell you. Before the fire. I saw May, and she told me she saw you, and that you’d talked, and. I wanted to explain everything.”
You remember the way May had looked that day in the park; her small, sad mouth, and the way she’d spoken slowly like she was choosing each word carefully. “Does she know?”
Peter half-shrugs. “We’ve never talked about it. But, like, I know she knows. And she knows I know she does.” He gives you a little smile. “It’s easier if we both keep pretending we don’t, though.”
“Does anyone else?”
His smile turns tight. “I guess not. Not really.”
“So you’ve been doing this all on your own? The whole time? How?”
He runs his hand back through his hair. “Yeah. Well, I guess I’m pretty good with DIY now, you know? I wasn’t always. I had to learn. Shit went wrong a lot in the beginning. Shit still goes wrong a lot.”
You lean in a little, curling into the cushions. “What’s the hardest part?”
You’re expecting him to say the fear of discovery, or the isolation, or the sheer physical exhaustion. But he wrinkles his nose. “God. The sewing. It’s so hard. And it’s constant. I swear I pop a different seam every day.” His face goes blank for a moment and he looks at you as though a brand new thought has just occurred to him for the first time. “It’s actually really nice. Getting to talk about this.”
“Am I allowed to ask about the outfit?”
He slaps his hands over his face. “You are absolutely fucking not allowed to ask about the outfit.”
Your mouth drops open in outrage. “I wasn’t gonna laugh! I just want to know why—”
“Look, I was going for, like, a velodrome thing. Like for speed and better flexibility and less wind-resistance and then like, anonymity as well, obviously, and originally—”
“What about the, uh, pattern?”
“Yeah, okay, okay, it seemed cool at the time! I was fifteen!”
The thought of Peter as a child, alone, in danger, no doubt even ganglier and nerdier than he is now, sends a fresh pang of sadness through you. You try not to let it show. “Do you eat the webs?”
He stares like you’ve just asked if he’d like to swap heads with you. “What?”
“Certain types of spiders go back and eat their webs after they’re done with them. Like, to replenish the protein they expended making them. Do you ever eat yours?”
The expression on his face is the funniest thing you’ve ever seen. “Uh, no. It’s inorganic. Like, it’s a, like essentially a nylon polymer composite. It’s not edible. I mean, I’ve never tried, but it’s designed to dissolve after a few hours, so I guess if you did really want to eat it, it wouldn’t hurt you…” He trails off, sheepish, looking at you sideways. “You’re fucking with me.”
“Yeah,” you say, unable to stifle your smile any longer.
He grins and ducks his head. He hasn’t shaved today, you note; there’s a little bit of stubble along his jawline.
Your chest hurts. Seeing him, being close to him, just like before. It pulls open the ache of missing him, turning it from a bruise into a wound. You know you shouldn’t. You tell yourself not to. But you do it anyway.
“I miss you.” Your voice is barely louder than a whisper.
He looks so fucking sad. His eyes are huge and pained and so close, and then they dart down to your lips, and you see it; the precise split-second the urge hits him, then the one after as he fights it, and your heart sinks and you’re about to lean back but then his mouth is on yours and it’s soft and it’s warm and unbearably gentle as his hands sweep up to the base of your neck.

It’s not the best kiss you’ve ever had.
You’re twisted uncomfortably to face him. Your hands lay shocked in your lap, and you’re pretty sure he can hear you attempting not to sniffle too much with your breathing, and you’re so busy worrying about it that you forget to open up to him; his tongue touching the edge of your lips. His fingertips brush the stitches at the back of your head and you flinch, pulling away.

“Oh, shit, sorry, I’m sorry,” he says, visibly mortified.

“It’s okay,” you say. “Didn’t hurt. It’s just sensitive.”
“For kissing you,” he clarifies. “I know we’re not, like…you know. Anymore.”
That hurts. You shake your head. “We could be. We could try.”
“I can’t ask you—"
“No. Don’t do that. What do you want?”
He exhales through his nose and a tiny, pained sound escapes with it. “It’s not that easy—“
“It is. It is that easy. What do you want?”
“You have no idea,” he says, suddenly. “God. You have no fucking idea how bad I want you. I want this. You’re the only thing I. Fuck.” He knuckles at his eyes, frustrated. “You just have no idea how bad this could go.”
“I do,” you tell him, gently. “I know exactly how bad it could go. And I’m sorry, Peter. I’m so sorry that happened. It’s so, so fucked up that that happened and I’m so sorry, and I know nothing I can say will ever make any of it any less fucked up, but fucked up things happen. They happen all the time for normal people, too. And fucked up things are going to keep happening and it’s inevitable and it’s part of being alive and that’s why we just need to take that risk every day, and choose to—to try to just be happy in as many stupid fucking hopeless ways as we can anyway, because we deserve to be happy. You deserve to be happy.”
He’s staring at you like he wants to believe you. Like he wants to cry. “You need to know,” he says, reaching his hand out, pulling it back. “I can’t promise you this’ll be okay. If you still wanted…I would try. I would try so, so hard for you. Harder than I’ve ever tried at anything. But I—I still just have no way of knowing that it’ll be okay.“
You smile at him, shaky and sure. “That’s any relationship, Parker.”
This time when he kisses you, you’re ready. Your mouth opens eagerly under his, catching the faint metal-salt of his skin, the dryness where his lips are ever-so-slightly windburnt.
All the breath leaves your body in a rush. You shove your hands up through his hair, lifting up onto your knees and sliding across his lap until you’re straddling him on the couch.
He tilts his head back to work his tongue into your mouth, one of his hands sliding up underneath your shirt to find the edges of your bra, and it’s awkward and clumsy and you’re both breathing hard by the time he manages to get your jeans unzipped and his hand cramped into your underwear.
“Holy shit,” you gasp, half-dizzy from kissing without pause. You almost bite him when his fingers find your clit. “Can you—yeah, like that, oh, my God—"
“Hold on, it’d be better if, let me…” he murmurs, frustrated, and you let out what could only be described as a yelp as he lifts your entire weight up to easily shove your jeans and underwear the rest of the way off your legs before settling you back down over his lap.
You’re stuck between trying to grind down against the front of his jeans and trying to give him enough space to work his hand back between your legs, ultimately deciding on the latter as he finds your clit again, this time his attentions unhampered by clothing.
His body hasn’t forgotten yours. It only takes a few moments of searching before he has you melting into the palm of his hand; your bones soft and hot inside you as you roll your eyes closed. It’s easy with him, just like before, but better.
You’re almost close when he eases two fingers inside you, and that’s easy too, so easy, the way you give for him. Your forehead rests against his as your lips come apart; too focused for kissing anymore.
“I missed you,” he breathes, working his wrist. “God, I missed you. I missed you so much.”
You flex your thighs as you rock with the movement of his hand, and that’s when you need to touch him, urgently. It takes a little repositioning before you manage to open his jeans and ease his cock out, wrapping your fingers loosely around him.
You feel him tense and shudder as you stroke him, too slow to really get him anywhere, too lost in the way his long, firm fingers curl inside you.
He noses along your jaw, mouthing lazily at your damp skin, his eyes closed, and then he’s there, right where you need him, and you’re clenching and biting down on the sounds trying to escape as you come apart sudden and hard around him.
You’re still loose-limbed and shaky when he pulls his slick fingers free, gently moving your hand out of the way to grasp himself instead. You feel a little guilty; you’d almost forgotten about him straining in front of you, but he doesn’t seem to care as he jerks himself quick and short in his fist. His other hand cups the swell of your ass as he huffs hot breath into your hair, your neck, coming sudden across the inside of your thigh.
You slump your weight against him.
Neither of you speak for a while. Your hand is curled between your bodies, trapped where it’s warm and you can feel his heart slowing in his chest. He runs his hand absently from your hip to your thigh, then back again.
“Peter,” you murmur.
“Mmm.”
“You do need to promise me one thing, though.”
He moves, just enough that he can look up at you. His cheeks are flushed. “What?”
“We can never. And I mean never. Tell Bear we fucked on her couch.”
His eyes widen in horror. “Oh, my God. She already hates me.”
“I know. But it’s okay, because we’re not gonna tell her.”
“I just don’t know if I can keep that secret; I’m not good at subterfuge, y’know, I’m just not that kinda guy—"
“Yeah, yeah, okay—"
“—and you should see me under pressure; I fold like origami—"
You kiss him again, just to shut him up, and feel his lips curling up against yours.
Your thighs feel sticky and gross, and you’re starting to get cold, and when you get up you nearly fall over from the cramp in your leg from sitting so awkwardly, but you’re too happy to care in the slightest.
You stand together in the bathroom, cleaning each other up. Every time his eyes meet yours in the mirror you both smile again, giggling and getting in each other’s way, like idiots.
It takes twice as long as it should to get back out to the couch, and you’re hoping he’ll curl up with you again but then you catch him glancing toward the window. “You need to go,” you say. It’s not really a question.
He hedges. “I kind of do, but…”
You offer him a little smile. “It’s okay. Go.”
He nods. You walk him to the door, where he pauses. He chews at his thumbnail, looking at you sideways again from under his eyelashes.
You watch him for a few seconds, waiting. “What?” you finally say.
He presses his lips together, runs his hand through his hair. “So. It’s probably, like, kind of weird. To ask. At this…uh, juncture.”
He’s nervous, you realise. It’s excruciatingly endearing. You nudge him. “I feel like weird’s kind of our thing.”
He grins. “Yeah. I guess. So. I was gonna ask if you’d like to go out. For dinner. Friday night.”
There’s absolutely no way to prevent the smile slowly pulling at your mouth. “Peter. Are you asking me on a date?”
He laughs, a little self-conscious huff. “Uh, yeah. Like. I mean, I wanted to way sooner. But. I guess I wanna try doing things properly this time. If you want.”
You can think of a thousand different things to say, but most of them are embarrassing, so you settle for keeping it simple. “Yes. Fuck yes. Obviously.”
He blinks. “Oh, okay, awesome, holy shit. Okay. Should we…? I don’t have your new number.”
“Oh, yeah, I need to get yours again too.” You pull your phone out and make a new contact before handing it to him.
He stares at your screen for a second, then he snorts. “You have me in your phone as ‘p.p.’?”
You wrinkle your nose at him. “Why? What do you have me as?”
He laughs again, quiet, shaking his head. “Doesn’t matter.” He hands your phone back. He takes a few steps out the door, then he sticks his hands in his pockets. “So. I’ll see you?”
“You will,” you tell him, watching the way his jaw juts crookedly when he smiles.
He’s halfway to the elevator, walking backwards, his hands still in his pockets when he calls back to you. “Friday, Miss Jersey.”
You laugh. “Quit disturbing my neighbours.”
You stay there long after he’s gone, leaning against your doorframe, smiling to yourself, aching with stupid, giddy affection.

🎃Halloween party 🎃
DAY 6: “I got some leaves on my way here for you, they are really pretty”
Ever since I was little, I have always collected leaves in the fall. It sounds kind of sociopathic, but my mother and I and then with my sisters, for as long as I can remember we have collected the strangest and most beautiful leaves that we found on our walks in the park during the fall.
Although I am no longer a child, I wanted to keep this tradition alive because it makes me feel closer to my family members who now live far away from me.
When I told my fiancé, Andrew, I thought he would think I was crazy instead he told me it was one of the sweetest things he had ever heard and asked if he could participate in this tradition as well, understanding perfectly well if I didn't want to because it was a very personal thing. I had not been able to help but throw myself at his neck, saying that I would love to share that thing with him, because after all for me and for my whole family it was now part of us, but until today he had never done anything to help me with my collection.
I am baking another pan of cookies, to the tunes of "Nightmare before Christmas," when I hear the front door open and close.
"Hello love!" I hear Andrew shout as he hangs up his jacket and takes off his shoes. "The cold weather has finally started!" He says sarcastically as he enters the kitchen, knowing that I was waiting for nothing more, as I hate heat and summer, while loving to death autumn and the cold it brings. In response I tongues at him as I keep humming the songs and then remember what I was supposed to tell him.
"Althea called me, you know about the surprise party for Iara's birthday, and she told me that it will be around three o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, but that if we want to get there the night before she has a free room." I tell him, while I am still intent on checking the cookies that I am now taking out of the oven to make sure they are ready. I see him go wide-eyed and run off, and immediately I cannot understand his reaction so abruptly to what I have said.
After a few minutes I see him come back with a book, which he rests on the table. I open it and he proudly shows me a bright red leaf, with a few hints of orange, that seems to be almost heart-shaped.
I feel my heart melt inside my rib cage, seeing with how much love and dedication he is showing me what he has found, and I refrain from kissing him there his moment.
"I got some leaves on my way here for you, they are really pretty. This is my favorite, though. Do you like it?" He asks looking at me with those puppy-dog eyes of his, and I can no longer stop myself from leaving a sweet kiss on his lips. He is caught a little off guard, only to immediately return that gesture of affection from me.
"So am I to take it to mean that you liked it?" He says once we break away, giving me that sly little smile that I so badly want to wipe off with a slap.
"I would say yes, in fact I would say he deserves to have his own frame and a place on the fireplace." I reply, before going to get a photo frame, where there is already a picture of us in a park taken by one of our closest friends. I open the frame and place the leaf next to our figures, and close it all up, before putting it back on the fireplace where it was before. We both stay staring at that frame for what seems like hours, him with his arms around my waist and his chest against my back, while I keep my hands on his, hugging a little and enjoying the perfume he is wearing, which I gave him last Christmas. We don't say a word, but there is no need because we can both feel each other's happiness.

Angels in America: In the first part, we meet Louis and Prior and Harper and Joe, two couples whose relationships are on the rocks: the former because of Prior’s AIDS diagnosis and Louis’s inability to cope with illness, the latter because of Joe’s closeted homosexuality and Harper’s incessant fears and hallucinations, as well as her addiction to pain-killers. The second part focuses on the story of Prior Walter, a gay man living with AIDS who has recently been left by his partner, Louis, after he could not cope with the physical and personal impact of the disease.
The Importance of Being Earnest: Two bachelors, John ‘Jack’ Worthing and Algernon ‘Algy’ Moncrieff, create alter egos named Ernest to escape their tiresome lives. They attempt to win the hearts of two women who, conveniently, claim to only love men called Ernest. The pair struggle to keep up with their own stories and become tangled in a tale of deception, disguise and misadventure.
Propaganda under the cut!
Angels in America:
painful funny surreal and down to earth all at the same time somehow, even without being a landmark piece for me personally w/ regard to queer literature
The Great American Play. The definitive exploration of how AIDS affected an entire generation of queer Americans in the '80s, and what it left behind in its wake. Those more eloquent than I am will be better at doing this play justice, but my sincerest hope is that the sheer significance of this work is clear enough to carry it all the way through to the highest end of this showdown.
honestly the peak of modern theater 2 me. everything i write and create is in the hopes that i might someday make something that lives up to the bar that angels set. it treats every one of its characters with such depth and compassion and the world it creates is so vivid and fantastic. and the context in which it was created will always be beyond important to me like i don't know how to describe how important it is that a play widely considered an american classic is about the aids crisis. she's the blueprint she's perfect she's everything
genuinely changed my life when i first read it. andrew garfield played prior walter in the 2018 national theatre version and he fucking kills it. it's 6 whole hours of joy and heartbreak and, most of all, hope. stan harper pitt!!!
This epic stageplay has become more accessible since its HBO miniseries adaptation in 2003. It is epic, intersectional, commemorative of a collective trauma that had been silenced for too long at the time of writing. (also Harper deserves to be as much a Tumblr Sad Girl icon as Lana del Rey or Sylvia Plath.)
The Importance of Being Earnest:
Queercoded love interest and Victorian dandies, what’s not to love?
Quite possibly the funniest thing I have ever read.
It's very funny.
there is a HANDBAG and it is a MAJOR PLOT POINT. jack pretends to be ernest because he's been doing it for ages and why not am i right? algernon pretends to be ernest to get a girl and also so screw stuff up. as one does. gwendolen and cecily have a REALLY passive aggressive tea party. this play slaps. it is so good. go read it and/or see it
“Nothing will induce me to part with Bunbury, and if you ever get married, which seems to me extremely problematic, you will be very glad to know Bunbury. A man who marries without knowing Bunbury has a very tedious time of it.”
Lady Bracknell: “I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone. The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square.”
Lady Bracknell: “My nephew, you seem to be displaying signs of triviality.”
Jack: “On the contrary, Aunt Augusta, I’ve now realized for the first time in my life the vital Importance of Being Earnest.”

Girl Crush pt. VI
Fem reader! Tom and Zendaya are flirtys and the reader is a mess.
prev
The first clarification. Part I
Tumblr media
Tomorrow is the premiere night.
And reader was in full hopelessness.
She missed the super secret film party they did only for the team, wich included Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
Of course she was invited but didn't went.
The crew watched all togheter the film for the first time, and reader knew because of the pictures they sent in the group chat.
She didn't watched the whole movie togheter but knew all the surprise plots, anyways.
It's not like she felt excluded for a situation that she put herself on.
It's not like she was hoping that someone might had notice her absence.
And it's not like she wondered herself why them didn't sent her a message asking why she wasn't there.
I mean, the last message they sent was in almost one month ago, it's not like she was used to it, and it's not like they even talked much.
But, they still had reader's number... right?
She was wondering for socialization reasons, of course.
But in one hand, she though that maybe not showing up would be a breath of fresh air.
For her to put her things together before the premiere night, u know.
Reader was getting a little nervous by the audience response, she honestly didn't had much dimension of the scope of her work when she's alone working on it.
She was almost all the time in home office. She could be scared sometimes of how big things in Marvel were outside her house.
So she just sighed. She was only now getting the dimension of it.
In a certain way she kinda knew she deserved the recognition. But these past feel days had been so... weird... that she kinda forgot how big this work was.
So she decided to give a break to herself :)
Her typical mornings were filled with too much caffeine and not enough sleep, as she sleepwalks around her house, trying to make herself a decent breakfest.
But today was different, and reader liked it.
The day started in an not conventional way. She woke with the sound of the bell and ran downstairs to come face to face with a delivery man at her door.
She suddenly gave him a shy look as soon as she saw the boxes in his hands. And maybe thought it was an new pc keyboard she deliverd or something.
But when she said goodbye to the delivery man and went to her desk to see what was inside that box, she couldn't contain a murmur.
It was... the dress.
Not a typical dress. She could see the name of the designer brand inside of it. It was a fancy and expensive dress.
She knew people at work said something about the company providing the clothes for big events but totally forgot.
It was not like the picture they showed her before. It was prettier.
She decided that for a dress like that, it was time to treat herself.
Doing her hair and nails? Yeah, of course, that too.
But most importantly bying herself the new headphones she wanted for while.
That made her feel refreshed, like nothing could do anything to put her down.
She instead of worring so much, went throught the day only doing things she liked to do.
She made herself some tea.
Did her nails in her favorite color.
Did her hair beautifuly.
She had a time for a book she was reading in the moment.
She even did a skin care that she didn't had done for a while.
And also went on social midia and saw people excitement for the film.
And after all the cloudy days, she was having a good one.
She was kinda ignoring tha fact that they said they wanted to meet her at the party and then disappeared.
Not texts at all.
She knew she woudn't answer anyways but yeah...
She expected something, but nothing came.
They probrably didn't even remember she would be there.
Everything was back to normal.
Thinking about the party, she decided it was time to start getting ready.
She took a look on the dress she would wear tonight and it was nothing like her ususal style.
Yeah, it was pretty and all, but she really wasn't expecting it to show so much skin.
At least it was in a silk black. She really liked the fabric of it and it was the big reason she chose it.
After she dressed, she looked in the mirror.
Well, she was feeling pretty, she really felt good. And she smiled, knowing she has to left her sneakers for today.
She went to heals, a little worried.
Because she knew damn well she could easily trip over them.
But honestly they looked so pretty she didn't care. They were in fact pretty unconfortable, but she could handle it.
The next thing was makeup. That's something she find really pretty but had no technique.
She should have hired someone tbh, but left it all to the last minute.
So she just applied what she knew that could not go wrong. A little blush here, an eyeliner and a mascara there, and that was it.
And oh she she did much better than expected.
She honestly hadn't a thing to complain about anything which was new.
So the driver just arrived her home like a kind of celebrity thing.
On her way, she coud feel a nervousness growing.
And she was like aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
But then she got 'ok'.
And decided she would just get there, avoid as much people as she could and just sit on the reserved place she had, not really involving much.
And that was what she did.
I mean, she wasn't expecting she would have to walk that red carpet and having photographers taking pictures of her.
She knew she looked a little scared by all the attention.
But she handled the situation well.
Althought she spend the whole party shaking a little.
She just entered that damn event, and went to her reserved place, witch was next to Jon Watts, the director of the film.
And ignoring she was really about to throw up, she smiled at the producers too.
She thought her anxiety was enough to the adrenalin she just lived minutes ago, she was crazy for even thinking that it was bustling.
It was not even ⅓ of the screams and enthusiasm people had when she heard someone say Tom Holland and Zendaya arrived the red carpet.
Like, it was insane. All the attention, screams, crys and enthusiasm were for them.
She tryied by far to even see how they looked, but the second they entered the event, there were so many people around them.
She couldn't even catch their faces for more than two seconds before someone interrupt her vision.
And even when things got calm, it wasn't calm at all.
Because now she could she how stunning they both looked.
And how all the people around seemed to want a bite of them.
And it was kinda pushing her to go away. She didn't know why.
Like, she was getting mad because how can those people look so good?
An intrusive thought.
But the principal reason she wanted to go away is that by her vision, they didn't searched for her any time.
Like, not even with their eyes.
Not even for a second.
They said they would meet her that night, didn't they?
It's not like she really wanted anyways, but she was seeing by the dimension she had of them in that party, they problably just said that thing in the elevator by education.
Like, Zendaya was only being nice because of that awkward meeting.
She felt stupid.
A lot of things went throught her head.
And she only took the champangne on the table and drank.
Maybe one glass only to stop her nervousness.
Maybe two glasses to make her hear calm down a little bit.
Maybe three only to stop that feeling inside her.
And even with some glasses of drinks, she wasn't even close to stop that weird weird sensation.
Crazy how she kept drinking but never been so sober.
Like, what she was expecting to happen tonight? It was supposed to be the life of her big realisation but it turned out to be... it?
Her sitting alone in a table watching all the moviments of the couple by far while everyone around her have fun?
"Hey, you're the responsable by the film effects, right?" Someone asked her and her attention went to the couple for the person.
She wasn't really listening what the person was saying about her work, even tho she really apreciated the praises in the middle of random phrases.
She was really focused on keeping her eyes in the person's face, reader would, at least, don't seem rude.
But out of the corner of her eye, reader could see the famous couple talking and smiling to a beautiful girl she didn't knew.
And oh...
Like, oh...
Suddenly a punch on her stomach.
She felt a little dizzy.
"Excuse me, I need to go to the toilet" reader said, interrupting the person's monologue, and gave him a fake smile, that seemed pretty genuine by the good reaction she recieved.
Reader putted her glass on the table and went in a direction that she actually had no idea where it would take her.
She just needed air.
And maybe hide a little bit.
She just entered in a corner she could see the bustle of people coming and going, and she smiled faintly at one of them, it was a man, who smiled back.
"Sorry, where can I find the toilet?" She asked a little embarassed "I'm a little lost".
The boy gave her the information and she just went to that stupidly big bathroom.
She looked at herself in the mirror, she could see her cheeks were so red.
She washed her hands maybe thinking this could ward off the flash of whatever was happening to her, but it was like trying to hold back water.
Because she didn't knew what was worse: have Zendaya and Tom Holland giving her all the attention or completely ignoring her.
She saw them this night, she knew they were famous but...
They're untouchable.
More than that, she couldn't even see them.
The best thing reader could do to herself was stopping to look at them throught the night.
And maybe go home? If it wasn't early.
She didn't want to look rude or something.
When she went out the bathroom, she heard some steps.
And butterflys went to her stomach.
What if it was them in the corner?
What if they notice she went in that direction and followed her?
She didn't knew what she was thinking anymore.
She was just wishing something happened.
But when someone stumble with her in the corner, it was the same man she asked an information.
"Uhm hi, you didn't look fine before so I came to check if you were okay" he said kindly.
Reader couldn't help her disolate expression.
Maybe she wasn't in fact as sober as she thought.
"I'm fine" reader said, trying to recompose herself. "Thank you for checking" she tried a more friendly tone.
"It's fine, I like taking looks on strangers in partys" he said smiling and reader almost got embarassed by his answer.
She probrably didn't looked restraint and she felt ashamed.
It was definely time to go home.
"Long night, isn't it?" he asked, giving her a complacent smile.
"Yeah" reader said, automaticaly smiling back.
"Well, it seems kinda overwhelming there, I guess it's ok to feel a little... lost." the boy said and reader took a look at him.
He seemed nice. Maybe looked older than her, and didn't seemed like someone famous thank god.
When reader was about to give him a funny answer, she listened some steps at the corner.
But reader didn't looked at it because she was too entertained by the boy.
"That's how scary films start" reader joked, not really paying attention to whoever entered one of the bathrooms.
The boy got closer to her.
"Or love films" he said, and reader almost triped on her own feets.
"What kind of love films have you been watching?" She asked, a little embarassed, and smile a little bit about her own joke.
She definely wasn't as sober as she thought.
"The ones with scary endings" the other respounded and reader got serious.
Maybe it was because the conversation was getting weird.
But the remembering of all the feelings she had that night just hit her again.
"I should go home now" she said, suddenly too quiet almost whispering.
"Well, I guess we could meet again? Maybe? If you want to..." the man sentence just ran in his mounth, reader couldn't tell of he sounded flirty or confident.
Probably the two.
But a little too much for her.
Reader open her mounth to answer but any sentence she mumbles goes unhearable by the suddenly sound of a door opening and someone walking next to them.
See, it was a long corner and no one was around.
So it was almost reliever when Tom Holland just appeared out of nothing, going out the male bathroom.
He just walked close to them, and his expressions were a litte, idk, not friendly?
Reader thought it was because of her. :/
"Excuse me?" he excused himself to continue walking.
It was not like he needed because the corner was huge and he just went to walk... between them.
The boy rush himself at the moment he recognise Thomas. He even gagged a little.
Reader just avoid any eye contact.
Baby just started playing with her fingers.
As soon as Tom walks by her, acting like he didn't knew her, she felt bad.
"Can I have your number?" The man in front of her asked.
Her face went :( and wherever the boy was saying to her, she couldn't listen anymore.
She watched Tom walks away by the corner of her eyes, and she is kinda sad.
But he suddenly stops. And turns back!!!?
The man next to her just goes silent when he sees Tom getting close to them again with his cellphone on his hand.
Baby just looks at Tom a little shocked when he approaches them again.
"Excuse me Y/N" Tom says, looking a little more friendly than before.
Baby just goes red and hated on herself that he had power over that.
She was confused tho. She asked "uhm?" Not like a question, but more like a surprise.
"Jon is looking for you" he said and reader just took a breath "he wants a picture of all the producers together."
For someone looking at them from outside, it was kinda rude to see how Tom just completely ignored the man who was talking with reader.
"Oh" she said and tried to recompose. "Ok" she whispered, but Thomas didn't move.
"Uhm, sorry, I have to go now" she said to the man who was kinda getting embarassed by the whole situation. "Thank you for... you know" she said, really not wanting to extend this.
He opened his mouth like he was about to say something, but closed it again, and gave her a smile "you're welcome" he said "maybe we should stumble over there again."
But before reader even says something, Tom was alrealy placing one of his hands on reader's back and guiding her away.
Reader couldn't contain the feeling of nervousness when he did it.
But Tom noticed the fact she didn't even looked back.
Baby was just too embarassed to say or do something besides walk.
And it got worse when it was only the two of them in the other corner.
Tom just tapped something on his phone with his left hand, the right yet on her back.
He didn't say anything like their previous meetings. And reader didn't knew if it is good or bad.
She kinda wants him to make a joke about her avoiding him. But he just place his phone on his pocket and keeps walking.
The silence only gets broke when reader is about to turn the corner for the party side, but he stops her.
Confused look.
"We should come this side" he says, and reader doesn't question.
She is just too afraid to say something and it end up embarassing her even more.
So she just follows him and when opens the door of a random room, she is kinda scary.
She is a little nervous and unsure.
She is a little dizzy and shaken.
Baby is confused.
But she goes for it anyways.
And what she founds inside the door is a normal secretary office.
With a normal table in the middle, normal chairs in the back and some normal books in the closet on the side of it.
Apart from the fact that Zendaya was there inside with her cell phone in her hand, everything seemed normal.
And the fact that the couple were giving her the most serious looks was a little too hard to believe.
The fact Zendaya smiled a little and said "hi" too shyly was breathtaking.
And the fact Tom said "Let's talk" with the most raspy voice was heartstopper.

How would all versions of Harry from your story feel if reader dated other men and she was completely over them for a short time
OOOO stop this is so interesting??? (also hi ily 😭💞)
Teach Me Harry: Oh boy....honestly, I think it would be really hard for him at first. Because he's losing his lifelong best friend, too. I think he'd be super angry at the start. Goes quiet, doesn't want to talk, doesn't really leave his house, snaps at everybody.
Eventually he starts asking about her, hearing that she's doing all right, but that she misses him and he realizes he'd much rather be her friend than be a stranger, so they decide to talk and stay friends (but she'd have to go back to him eventually, it would break my heart if they ended things 😭)
Mine Harry: Oh this man 1000% pulls an Andrew Garfield from the Amazing Spider-Man and just follows her around. He lets her go, he lets her be with someone else because he knows she probably deserves it, but he keeps such a close eye on her. Not exactly in a stalking sense but he def wants to make sure she's still protected and safe and happy!!
One for the Money Harry: Oh fuck...well, he's crushed, but he plays it off like he's fine. He stops watching her content for a while (he's scared he's gonna see her new partner in one of the videos) and they don't really speak. She's gotten a new job (that's what maybe inspired this change) and he feels like the halls are a little less lively without her. He's also kind of sullen and less happy!!
He finally caves and texts her everything he never got to say or was too afraid to say and that starts the reconciliation process!! With Nadia's help of course alsjfsdf
iFall for Harry: Ooooooof well he obviously writes a bunch of songs about it. The album is just an ode to her and to how happy she made him and how sad he isn't that he couldn't be the painter she needed.
He also def tries to stalk her social media but she's not very active and I think it's hard for him to throw himself into work without her!! He turns on Back to the Future whenever he misses her hehehe
404 Harry: Well.........we'll see 😗 ALFJSDF

random method acting thoughts + asks
Tumblr media
correct. you are absolutely correct. AND I THINK I MENTIONED THIS A FEW TIMES but every time I feel like method acting drama is unrealistic I remember that nicki minaj exists and sleep well at night. MEGAN DEFENDER FOR LIFE
Tumblr media
trust. we've got a tweets heavy chapter. and her comeback tweet is so petty I don't even know how we got here but we're here
Tumblr media
WAIT UR SO RIGHT. casual E charm around her neck and she's just like yeah what? no i'm not dating him what are you talking about (yes, she is)
Tumblr media
thank you so much ☹️ i've been having the worst week (for two weeks in a row) and kind words like this mean so much to me. the headspace has not been the most fun space to be lately (and sometimes I worry that reflects in what I wrote) but i'm glad that it's made you happy and given you that feeling of love. that's all I could hope for and it almost makes me teary eyed that some shred of that is still there even when i'm not feeling the best 💌
here are my random thoughts:
connie has the online presence of tik tok user @/nmillz. like him single handedly reviving all in my head (flex) by fifth harmony (PLEASE TELL ME YOU'VE SEEN IT) is the funniest thing ever and even the way he talks/what he talks about reminds me of method acting connie 😭
this is so random but mentally in my head, I associate some of the characters with like real celebrities and influencers in terms of aesthetic and vibe, which i've seen some readers do which is so interesting cuz our picks are never the same
like y/n in my head is olivia rodrigo coded. like her having a specific brand (very romantic, lovey dovey) when she was on disney channel (and maybe was asked to lean into really hard) as opposed to guts/sour which is so.....emotional/ jealously/rock that's kind of the vibe I get from that character (or at least where we are headed)
historia in terms of aesthetic/character is sabrina carpenter and taylor swift. sabrina carpenter in terms of aesthetics/looks (she is very much the beauty standard, the dream girl, nonsense outros) and in terms of character is taylor swift? like she's a relatable but there's a part of her that's always going to be untouchable (for taylor that's just cuz I think she's a billionaire/very detached from reality, but for the character that just stems from being so deep in the whole industry type thing that she kind of forgets what matters sometimes)
gabi in general reminds me of billie eilish, in terms of where her character will go. I wanted to include the real life hate that gabi as a character got in the show into the story, but I also feel like that hate sometimes is given to billie eilish. to the point where when she wins grammy's she's apologizing bc she feels like she doesn't deserve it, but at the end of the day...she's one of the most talented artists in our generation? what was I made for? bad guy? happier than ever? they were all phenomenal. gabi can be a great actress but she'll never feel like it!
sukuna and y/n give zendaya and timothee vibes. eren and lana give bradley cooper and emma stone in the variety actors on actors interview.
falco and gabi are walter scobell and leah sava jefferies in terms of dynamic and vibes. I will die on this hill.
eren and y/n are andrew garfield/emma stone (ref: she was like a shot of espresso), danielle galligan/calahan skogman (ref: matching tattoos), daisy ridley jones/paul mescal (ref: undeniable SOMETHING)
hyla just has kardashians/nicki minaj level audacity. like kim wearing a purple dress and posting a story w/ speak now...nicki minaj ai generated diss track like that's her.

🌷 Andrew Garfield x younger singer y/n x Finally // beautiful stranger by Halsey
_beautiful stranger
andrew garfield x fem!singer!reader
based on: finally//beautiful stranger by Halsey
summary: at the Grammys, you decide to sing a song showing your love for Andrew
words: 639
a/n: i guess you were the same anon with Halsey so thank you again I hope you will love this sweet story 💛
join my secret garden for my 1k celebration 🌸
Tumblr media
“And now please welcome [y/n]!”
The whole crowd went crazy and applauded while you were getting ready on stage. If it was still difficult for you to see your fans go crazy during your concert, it was even harder to watch celebrities go feral for you. Like, you? You still feel like a baby in the industry, even if you released your second album a few weeks ago.
And currently playing at the Grammys where you were nominated.
If you had to be honest, you knew your relationship with Andrew was helping your sudden popularity. Maybe it was your age gap, or that people were surprised to see Andrew in a public relationship, but they kept talking about it. And the stream of your last album exploded when fans assumed some songs were about Andrew.
They were right.
“This is my new song, Beautiful Stranger.” You noticed Andrew in the crowd and waved at him discreetly before the music started. It was always comforting to see him smile at you like you were the most precious person in the world.
You wanted to thank him for being the best support in your career. And remind the world that this relationship was the most beautiful thing in your world.
“You got hips like Jagger and two left feet, and I wonder if you'd like to meet” the night you met was at a birthday you were both invited. You danced like two strangers without thinking about what was coming next.
You had no idea love was what was coming next.
“Think I know a bar where they would leave us alone and I wonder if you'd take it slow” when you wanted to see Andrewc you had to find a place where nobody would come to you. Which is why you offered him to go to the bar next to your apartment, a small bar owned by an old lady that couldn’t care less about who’s coming. But would do anything to protect you from curious people. And if you wondered if Andrew would love to take his time, the kiss he gave you that night prove you he was more than ready to move on with you.
“The truth is this that I've never seen a mouth that I would kill to kiss” was something you said to Andrew the first night he came to your place. It became clear that you were falling for that man and falling hard. And so was he.
“I grab your hand and then we run to the car singin' in the street and playin' air guitar” When you were with Andrew you never feared being ridiculous. Why would you when the only person that really mattered was by your side doing the same things? The night you had fun in the street, was the night the first pictures of you together were taken. And the next morning, The whole world knew about you and Andrew.
“Beautiful stranger, here you are in my arms and I think it's finally safe for me to fall.” Falling for Andrew was without a doubt the best fall you made in your life. No matter what people might think or say about you together, and sometimes you saw terrible rumours going in, you knew you made the best decision by dating that beautiful stranger.
A few hours later, you won that Grammy you fully deserved. And the first person you turned to and kissed was the person that inspired you with all these beautiful songs. The same guy that had his name written in your album. The same man you thank on stage tonight. “And thank you to my love, my soulmate. Andrew, without you life would be a sad black and white picture and you make it a colourful piece of art. I love you”

A Little Longer {TASM!Peter Parker}
Tumblr media
Plot: Sometimes all Peter Parker needs is a day in bed with you.
Character: Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) x Plus Size Gender Neutral Reader
Notes: Just fluff. Pure fluff.
His alarm blared from the beside cabinet beside the bed and immediately, he hated everything and everyone (besides you, never you). He groaned loudly, pulling the duvet over and above his head hiding you both under it.
"You know it won't stop even if you hide," you mumbled groggily as Peter's harrumphing woke you up, well that and the now slightly muffled alarm.
Peter groaned loudly, throwing the covers off of the two of you and pressed the 'STOP' button on his phone. The alarm went silent. He fell back into bed, rolling over and pulling you into his embrace, "Time?" You mumbled against his chest. You loved the feeling of pressing your face into his toned chest, cheek pressed against his warm, soft skin. Peter wrapped his muscular arms around you, covering you with his warmth as you intertwined your legs together, fully tangled in each other's limbs. You didn't mind anymore that his hands were resting on your side right where your fat rolls were. You'd long since gotten accustomed to Pete's touches. As a plus size person, you'd always shoved your partner's hands away from your stomach and sides but now? Now you liked having Pete's large hands all over your stomach and sides. Of course he never minded that you were plus size, he genuinely couldn't care less about your weight and your size but he loved your body. He loved how soft and warm you were, loved the way your tummy looked in your clothes. He just loved you. Mornings like this were your favourite. You loved waking up to him, loved the morning cuddles he gave you and the way his hair was tousled in the mornings. It was perfect.
"Doesn't matter," he muttered, yawning into your hair, "back to sleep."
You shook your head, "Got that thing with Aunt May at ten and then got lunch with-"
"No."
"Pete-"
He pulled back so that you could look into his eyes and you noticed how tired he was. He had purple bags under his eyes and he just looked exhausted. The cuts and bruises on the side of his face were healing and he had gone through a lot in the last week, "Please," he said, eyes begging you. Quickly, you nodded as you realised that this wasn't a case of him just being lazy, he needed you; he needed bed, he needed comfort and nothing else. Peter always took on way too much and he would always need a few days of just nothing and today happened to be one of those days.
"Okay," you whispered, hand gently caressing his cheek. Peter moved into your touch, relishing in the way it made him feel. He reminded you of a lost puppy when he had days like this, he just needed cuddles, tenderness and lots and lots of love and of course you would so happily give it to him, "I'll cancel everything, no worries, okay? It's alright."
Peter nodded against your hand, giving it a small delicate kiss, "Thank you, sweetheart," he murmured as he pulled you back into his chest, "I just really need you today."
"I know, love," you said as you kissed his chest, "you've got me all day, I promise." Your heart ached for him on days like this; days where he was sad and lost and where the ghosts of his past haunted him. Peter was always taking on too much and sometimes it took its toll on him. He always made the effort to make you and everyone else around him feel good so today it was your turn to do that for him. You'd lie with him in bed all day if he wanted, only getting up to make food or to pee. You'd spend forever doing this for him if that's what he needed. He always did so much and now it was his turn to just take a break and recharge his batteries.
"I love you," he whispered through a yawn.
"I love you, too."
It wasn't long before he was snoring softly. You pulled back to look at him. He looked a lot younger when he was sleeping, the worry lines faded and his mind was clearer. You'd let him sleep for as long as he needed, he deserved it. Your hands traced his face gently, careful not to wake him, for a while before you settled back into his arms and followed him into the land of dreams.

Sarah MacLean, Knockout 6 out of 5 💥
Firstly, I should mention how wonderful this cover is. It is just marvellous … I wasn’t even able to do a proper fancasting. Just the woman on the cover is such a great illustration of Imogen that non of my own options beat it. So I decided to just skip fancasting someone famous as I usually do. Or maybe it was that I just waited for this book so much that I could only imagen the “cover girl” as Imogen. What of Tommy? In my head, he was a fairly beardier and bigger version of Andrew Garfield. No offence, Andrew, you are amazing!
Tumblr media
Secondly. To the characters. I was so in love with both of the main characters from previous books, and was able to fall in love even more. They both are extremely beautiful souls. And a reformed policemen (against which occupation I have very strong feelings (coming from a shitty corrupt country with the worst forces possible). To say that Imogen is chaotic in the best possible way wouldn’t be enough because she is also so many more things like brilliant, caring, witty, loyal, curious, and overall self sufficient. She didn’t need someone to make her compute, she just was. This is what I like about this stories so much. These matched are partners most of all.
Tommy and Imogen connection, attraction and relationship development is also outstanding. From the beginning of book, we kind of knew about their traits. But their backstories were also a good touch in understanding who their are and how they came to be like that. The wit! The verbal sparing between Im and Tommy made me genuinely smile/laugh read.
And of course the story itself deserves an honourable mention. Sarah MacLean is the queen of building intriguing story. It is always just another separate main character in her books. I would be bald and compare my 2 favourite authors here. I absolutely love how Lisa Kleypas pays attention to politics, social dilemmas of that time and builds worlds in a highly educationed fashion. But what Sarah Maclean does … she builds stories very effortlessly, where she includes important topics and gives voices to women in a very natural way. There may be less direct narration on human, women, workers rights, but they are part of her stories and it becomes obvious what opinions she has and applies to her characters.
Okay, to the Duchess. I soooo want to say “I knew it”. But not to spoil anything I won’t tell what I knew. I’m so hooked and ready for her story. Just another long year/two years of waiting if we are lucky. But good things take time, so I am not mad, but very grateful to my favourite authors for keeping the genre alive, vivid, loud and beautiful 🤍🤍🤍

Comments.
Pairing: Andrew Garfield x singer female reader.
Word count: 363 words.
Summary: reading them it's no good.
Tumblr media
It was almost midnight and you were scrolling through social media reading a bunch of comments, some of them were nice, some of them weren't.
"You still up, honey?" Andrew walked in drying up his hair with a towel.
"I was just reading a couple of comments," you said locking your phone and putting it on the nightstand.
"You know that's no good for you, right?" he sat besides you.
"I know, but some of them were really sweet... Until the meaning ones appeared," you pouted.
Andrew hugged you and started stroking your back.
"I know I shouldn't believe them 'cause it's all lies but i'm tired of them always taking about my life, my friends, my family. They don't even comment about my music, it's always about my private life, I sell my music not what happens around me," you covered your face frustrating. "And let's not forget about our relationship, it's always the number 1 topic in the comments. All of them are always like she's not enough for him, she doesn't deserve him, he's too good for her, I can do better than her," you hugged him tight and hide your face in the crook of his neck.
He grabbed you by the chin and made you look at him.
"Honey, you're the greatest musician I know, we love you and your music and you have all your followers and family and friends to prove that you're the best in what you do," he looked directly at your eyes and while stroking your chin. "And about us, have I told you how much I love you? How much you mean to me? How i'm always thinking about you? How much I miss you every time i'm not home? How I wanna be with you every single day of my life?"
You smiled and pecked his lips. "I love you so fucking much, you mean the world to me, thank you for always being there for me and for helping me feel better," you kissed his face making him laugh.
"I love you too, baby. No need to thank me for loving my girl," he said stroking his nose with yours.

Smart Dress
“No fucking way, is that Loki?” Barton pointed out to the other side of the street. He had a redhead around his arm. It was the fourth girl that week. He didn’t seemed to notice you, so he couldn’t appreciate how your heart broke piece by piece.
There is this philosophical theory that says that when we lust over something and then when we have it, we don’t want it anymore. Thinking about that possibility hurt you like a million stabs. He courted you, gave you flowers, won you over, but after a few nights of sex…he started to avoid you.
None of the Avengers knew, or at least not an official Avenger.
“Woah, asshole” Peter’s back fell against the bedpost after you told him. “Yeah” tears fell down your cheeks like a river, “Come here, come on” he pulled you into a hug, “You deserve so much better than him, he’s not man enough” that only made you sob even harder, “It still hurts”.
Peter is your best friend, it hurt the world to see you so hurt, and even more if it was the god of mischief. You came to him when you and Loki had fucked for the first time, you were happy and glowing, you had gotten a movie night with the man you liked. However after a few sessions, you told him that you felt a little empty, as if he had put less effort into the act.
"I can hang him from the bridge, just say the word" he tried to cheer you up, but you weren't amused, you liked Loki so much that just thinking about hurting him hurt you. That anguish, impotence, you felt selfish, as if you had no right to demand anything from her, but leaving you alone without aftercare, was the straw that overflowed the camel's back.
The girls he brought to the tower were beautiful, even more so than you, and you knew that. Larger breasts, pronounced curves, full lips, they were beauties from Venus.
“I just want… I want him to be sorry for ignoring me” and yet that was the only thing you could think about, because it was easier to focus on the least serious thing he did to you so as not to get depressed about the worst night you had ever had.
And then, a lightbulb illuminated Peter’s head. “Stark is going to throw a party next Friday, right?”
“Yeah, but I don’t feel like going” what were you going to do there anyways? Watch him with his new conquest? “Let’s go together” it seemed a good idea, “Pete, we’re just friends and you know it” but boundaries had to be set.
“Me and you? Partners in crime forever, but let’s pretend. You’ll see how he turns green of envy when he sees you’re not his to discard” he was right, he was so damn right, “Or his at all”. He hugged you tight, rocking you from side to side in excitement, “Damn right! Let’s go dress shopping!” you burst into a fit of laughs, “Hey, let Gwen know, I don’t want troubles with her”.
“I’m going to hang out with her tomorrow, I’ll tell her” he assured.
Those days before the party you had a mission, Loki went as backup and ended up being your surveillance partner. You were as quiet as a dead man, "Everything okay?" because you knew that if you answered him, you would burst into tears like a girl whose mother has slapped her for the first time.
Because of the heartache, you were careless and wound up, "Y/n!" thanks to that he said your name for the first time in months, "It's just a scratch" you pushed him away. You didn't hate him, you couldn't, but you couldn't find a way to talk to him without wanting to yell at him.
Finally the day of the party came, “Y/n, are you coming to the party?” Tony put his arm around your shoulder as you headed to Wanda's room. "Yes, I trust we will have a great time" you hit his shoulder, playfully. "Do you even know me? I'm the party genius" he let go of you and disappeared down a hallway.
“I heard you went out with Parker yesterday” Natasha asked while putting some eyeliner on Wanda’s eyelids. “Yeah it was the best, I bought myself something for tonight” you teased, “I saw the bag, come on I want to see it” you buttoned up the last couple of buttons and then came out of the walking closet.
The dress had a sweetheart neckline, the material was green velvet, it glided over your curves perfectly, it highlighted them. the neckline had ties that tied behind your neck to keep it in place, a low back closure to hold the skirt to your hips, and a line of buttons that fell down your thigh from there to the bottom. The skirt had a slit that showed a seductive view of your black stockings. You put on gold heels to match, the ties twining around your calves like grape vines.
“Oh my, Y/N! you look beautiful!” Wanda stood up to hug you and start with your hair, “It’s green” Natasha sternly pointed the obvious, making clear that she knew, so you nodded. “I know”, she looked sad, she pitied you, “Are you sure?” or maybe she was concerned.
“I trust you two to kick asses if something happens” Wanda brushed your hair as you laughed, curling the tips with her magic, “How about a high bun? Your neck will be on display, and this pretty back you have” the dress had an open back, the material started again on your lower back, along with the zipper.
It was a dress meant to steal, win and crush some hearts.
“Hello beautiful” you heard his voice and immediately smiled, “Peter!” he was wearing a black tux, white dress shirt and a green vest, “Looking good Parker” you hugged him, “And you” he twirled you around, “Are beautiful, deadly” you giggled, “Thank you handsome”.
He took you by the hand and you walked beside him to the party, or the common room. "Attitude, don't look at him" Peter whispered in your ear before wrapping his right arm around your waist.
Several guests noticed how beautiful you looked, they let you know with envy, for the first time in days you felt sexy, empowered, pretty. You missed feeling confident.
"He is looking at you, don't turn around" he caressed your chin with two fingers indicating where to look, meanwhile he took out a necklace from his pocket. "What are you doing?" you laughed at the feel of his touch on your neck, "Trust me, if looks could kill, I'd be dead by now" Loki was thinking of a thousand ways to torture someone as he watched Peter plant a kiss on your shoulder from afar.
"Peter!" you laughed at how Machiavellian his plan was. “Forgive me” he giggled insinuating something, you didn’t understand why until music started to play.
“Deep, dark velvet hugs your silhouette
Black silk stockings, you're my Juliet
Soft, long hair, baby, beautiful eyes
Cool me down before I jump into your thighs”
He grabbed your hip turned you around, and passed his hand in between your breasts. He was all immersed in his role, the music, the provocation. By accident you saw Loki´s new hot blonde trying to get his attention, not succeeding at all.
“The green, green dress
20 buttons and a strap
The green, green dress
What a pleasure to unwrap
Green dress, oh, what it can do
What the green, green dress does to me on you
Me on you”
You were having the time of your life, dancing, you got the opportunity to sing along with Peter. Also it got a little heated, your body was pressed against his, your right leg hooked around his waist revealing a little of your stockings. All the eyes were set on you.
But then you made the mistake of looking at Loki, he was eating that blonde’s mouth without shame, they looked like they could fuck right there in front of everyone. It made your sick.
“Can I hear you laugh, babe? Can you make me smile?
I'll forget what's on my mind for a while
Can I tie you up, love? If you tell me, "Yes"
I'll unbutton every button down your green, green dress, ow!”
Peter laid you down on the table next to Loki, got on top of you, touched the buttons on your thigh with fake malice as he kept singing, it was the move that went too far.
The music died down, so Loki stood up. You moved away from Peter for two seconds to get drinks, and when you came back they were fighting.
"If I see you near her again, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" Loki yelled, struggling to get out of Thor’s strong arms, "Why you bother, asshole!? You had your chance to appreciate her and you didn't, now you'll never have her, because you're an idiot" Loki growled and grunted like a furious animal, you didn’t recognized him anymore.
“YOU FILTHY VERMIN!” Loki broke free of his brother's grasp and lunged at Peter. Your first instinct was to grab the dark-haired man by the shoulders and try to shake him off.
"LET HIM GO!" the elbow he gave you in the face made you fall backwards, if it hadn't been for Wanda you would have hit the ground. When Loki looked up to see what the deathly silence was about, blood dripped from your nose onto your dress.
“Pete?” Loki’s stomach flipped inside him when he heard your voice, “Can we go? I don’t feel well” you couldn’t even look at him, your nose hurt and you wanted to cry.
“Y/n” Peter let go of Loki and rushed to you, “How old are you, five? Drop me home, please?” he nodded, “Y/N!” you were tempted to turn, but you didn’t know what kind of consequences that would’ve brought.
So you didn’t…yeah,, you didn't listened to your head, and turned around.
Loki saw your bleeding nose and immediately felt like someone kicked him in the gut. "Yes?” your voice held so much pain, yet still holding back, and he sensed it.
“I…I apologize, for your nose” he offered you his handkerchief, green and soft to the eye, but you rejected it, “’s fine” your coldness hurt him like no weapon could ever do.
“I still feel…guilty, may I fix it?” his hand was drawn towards you, the same hand that once held yours. You turned to Peter, “Go, I´ll see you there” and accompanied Loki down the hallway.
You remembered the first time you were in his room, he had taken you from training session to help you surpass a panic attack. He hugged you and kept you near him, whispering sweet nothings in your ear in a soothing way.
He wandered around his room looking for something, judging by the mess you doubted he was going to find it soon, until he knelt down on the side of his bed and pulled out a red metal box with a white cross. A first aid kit.
“Why don’t you fix it with magic?” you asked as you sat on the edge of his bed, “With these issues I prefer to be thorough and careful” Wanda had fixed your broken nose with her magic already, he was just attempting to clean an internal bleeding with external medical aid.
It was useless, but you appreciated the thought and the intention, “It stopped bleeding” he said almost as if it surprised him.
You hummed in response, “Can I go now?” he looked up from the bloodied cotton balls to your eyes, “Why don’t you stay?” he asked nonchalantly.
“I don’t feel like staying in the tower” he sighed at your response, “I meant-" he meant staying in his room, “I know. I don’t want to” you clarified.
“Are you mad at me for something?” 'how clever' you thought. Rolling your eyes you answered.
“Crazy how you can be so perceptive, but you miss so much nonetheless” it hurt, to be mad at him and he not having the slightest idea of it.
His mother had told him the very same thing, almost the same words, it spook him a little. “Right, are you going to tell me what I did to you?” but he kept the attitude.
“If you don’t know then there’s no point in me telling you” he laughed slightly, “What’s so funny?” mentally you counted to 10 repeatedly so you wouldn't lose your shit.
“The dress, the spiderling, all the provocations…you’re jealous” he got closed as he rolled his tongue on the L.
“You wish!" You laughed, "Besides, of what exactly am I supposed to be jealous about?” not of his conquest of course, but he went for it.
“Me and Elena, what else could you be possibly mad about then?” so that was the bitch's name?! “Did you brought her flowers, poems?” Yes, you were jealous.
"Of course I did, I do that with every woman I meet” once you got a spear through your thigh, it didn't do much to anything important, but it hurt horribly for a year.
What he said hurt even more violently. The sudden change in your face made his heart hurt, so he attempted to fix his stupidity, “Y/n I was joking” but it made it worse.
“That’s what I am to you, a joke?” your whole body was on fire raw anger filling you up, “No, I-“ he tried to explained himself.
“Leave me alone, I’m not your anything Loki, you had no right to punch Peter” he laughed, “You’re worried about him? How about you go fuck him instead?” it was your turn to laugh. You stood up from his bed and went to the door with a smile, “Good idea, maybe I will”.
Your hand turned the doorknob, alas, you couldn't go out thought it, he had put his arms around your waist. “Stay” he pleaded against your hair, “Give me one good reason”
“I really…uhm” it wasn't the best moment to be at loss of words, but he tripped with all sorts of different sentences, not a single one made sense or was good enough to express how he felt.
He took way too long, in tears you sighed, putting your hands on his arms to force him release you, "I knew it" you murmured.
"Fuck" he cursed. Loki turned you around, closed the door with your back against it, and before you could protest he kissed you.
Smutty pt2 soon...

Do you have any hot tales about tsn?
tsn hot takes ??? gosh, idk if they're hot takes but i have opinions?
i'm sorry to rpf on main but 'andrew garfield was in love with jesse eisenberg' is a hilll i'm going to die on.
similarly, andrew garfield played eduado as in love with mark and watching the movie through that lens enriches the whole experience. fight me.
tsn deserved to win best picture in 2011. out of all the nominees that year, it's the one that has only gained relevance as time passes and had something to say about our culture, both back then and right now. i think it's almost more relevant now than back then. its social commentary on the way we live our lives on the internet is pretty spot on. i mean 'the internet is written in ink'. give me one line better from another movie that year. we lived on farms then we lived in cities and now we're gonna live on the internet?? damn.
this isnt an opinion, more like an observation? back in 2010, people complained about the harsh depiction of zuck but he's worked so hard to prove the movie not only right but also now it almost reads as mild compared to who that guy actually is. it's fascinating in terms of tsn's cultural legacy. where's that one quote from that article about tsn turning 10 yo? the movie couldn't predict what facebook would turn into (in terms of misinformation and manipulation of information) but it understood that the desire to tear down the establishment is not the same as the wish to build something better in its place? anyways, that.
it has one of the greatest soundtracks ever. i don't think any movie has topped it since. that opening sequence with hand covers bruise? holy shit.
i always wonder if it does enough to condemn the elitist misogynistic culture of those rich harvard guys/those rich tech guys. like... i always joke that it's one of my 'ooops the filmmakers forgot women were people' favourite films (i have a few of those) but at the same time, it feels very pointed and purposeful in its depiction. and we know that fincher has a history of exploring toxic masculinity as a theme without explicitly condemning it and trusting his audience to get the message. which, honey, men are not smart. i mean, we get the iconic erica moment telling us from the start 'it'll be because you're an asshole' and then the movie proceeds to prove that to us. but is that enough? is the movie sexist or is the character? or both? i don't know i kinda go back and forth on this. again not a take, just thoughts.
i read this one letterboxd review like a year ago that said something along the line of: best movie of all time they have him tell us ' i don't want friends' in the first eight minutes and it blew my fucking mind. they literally tell us in the first eight minutes, aaron sorkin i just want to talk.
i love him and would kill for him, but eduardo telling mark 'i was your only friend you had one friend' was not only untrue but kinda manipulative. not that mark didn't deserve it.
high key this is one of the most quotable movies of all time. did you know i sent forty-seven texts???
there are whole worlds of unsaid things in the 'you have no idea what that's going to mean to my father' 'sure i do' i am OBSESSED with their relationship.
eduardo's bitchy 'is he?' when sean says he's wired in before the laptop smash is just as, if not more, iconic than the rest of the speech.
andrew was robbed of both a nomination and an oscar for this performance. i stand by it.
2011 golden globes jesse eisenberg dragging andrew gafield out of his chair top awards moment of all time. you had to be there.
people will bitch about tsn rpf and people writing fic about mark zuckerberg but where would we (tumblr) be as a society without jesse and andrew's 'you didn't know me at 13' 'i really wish i had'. where would your pining web-weaving fandom posts be without mr garfield's embarrassingly public crush on his facebook movie co star? check and mate.
genuinely think it would have solved a lot of their problems if mark and eduardo had fucked. or it would have created other different problems. either way, a win.
we all know it should have ended with mark sending eduardo a friend request. literally the only flaw in this film.
i honestly think the tsn press tour is on like... lotr bts footage level in terms of ~as enjoyable if not more than the original film. and i don't say this lightly. it's one of the highest praise i've got.
i'm a basic bitch but every single scene of mark defending eduardo post-betrayal is like.... [SCREAM]
it IS the greatest divorce movie of our time. marriage story fucking wishes mate.
tsn is 100% a girl movie. like red flag for men green flag for women (& gnc people) kind of stuff.
it's on par with all of shakespeare's best tragedies. for me.
lmao when i read this ask i thought damn i won't have much to say and now i have to stop myself because my food is ready and i'm starting. anyways this is barely scratching the surface. i might come back for a part two?
