Electrolysis
Introduction Electrolysis is the process of driving a chemical reaction by applying an external electric current. This process is widely used in various industries for purposes like metal purification, electroplating, and production of certain chemicals. Principles of Electrolysis The principle of electrolysis is based on the movement of ions under the influence of an electric field. In an…

Studying chemistry in uni just means casually finding out that the things considered a heresy punishable by death in a high school chemistry class are actually possible or at least a lot more complex than you were taught anyway did you know sodium can form anions too

Many Sentences Monday Woops
I'm a week late getting to this @curufinswife because I was on top of a mountain lol. I've got a little snippet of one of my scribbles and drabbles works - it took a while to find a segment that wouldn't give away the central plot.
They emerged at last into a high meadow of a kind, cut sharply into the side of the mountain in some ancient calving.  There, they discovered the source of the little stream they had heard.  Snowmelt, taking the quickest path downward, trickled down the damp stone to a pool at its base.  The water, a blue so deep it bordered on violet, winked in the sun.  "It seems awfully deep to be fed by just a little snowmelt this late in the season," said Celebrían.  "It must have a wellspring beneath it, fed by some greater underground stream."  Elrond nodded, looking up the rock face.  "I imagine the runoff here only serves to water the ferns.  Which are what I came to inspect, as it were."  Celebrían wrinkled her nose.  "Well, while you are pressing blossoms like a child at a gnome tea party, I'm getting in for a dip."
I'm sure the water is fine. Swimming is a great idea. ;)
I feel like this has been passed around A Lot, but I'm trying to hit folk I haven't tagged yet or I haven't seen participate yet. Tbh this was good motivation for me to pull my wip out so. May it be so for you. @arofili @sallysavestheday @actual-bill-potts @thescrapwitch @polutrope

I saw the 'fictional minerals' post and I have so much I want to add to that that I've shoved into Ellenville, like crystal structure, crystal chemistry, element behavior, how these change element appearance, and how you're going to mine them when all of these relate but:
the prospect of actually typing all of this out is so overwhelming I'm not going to do it lol.
I want to add a bit of "Good Writing Tips with Tolkien" on mithril, and that requires a bit more investigation on my end.
Every day I slip closer into geology and fiction's Sir, This Is A Wendy's venn diagram.

so last night i was doing some streak plates with my soil samples from the crater and anion sneezed (?) in one of my plates just as i was about to paras-film it so i still incubated it because i wanted to see what would grow + if he’s sick
after doing another plate, i think my joltik has pokerus but i don’t know where he would’ve gotten it from which worries me; i’m on my way to the pokemon center rn to see if they know anything about it and to get tass tested for it. fingers crossed he didn’t pass it on to her yet

@musesbykai Despite Bev's wishes, Oron did in fact continue to stare. His hands were in front of him, right cuffed over the left wrist as his eyes shifted to look directly at the other's pupils. "Just curious about your workflow. Nothing more." He shifted in his spot. That was only a half truth as Oron was more worried about potentially getting another shotgun shoved into his face.
Molten gold is what stared back at him, the color somewhere between liquid gold and magma. Fitting really, considering his innate specialty with lava. Shaped brows were furrowed into a frown, the expression practically a permanent one while he was in Oron's presence.
"A workflow that is interrupted the longer you stare at me."

Tomorrow's analytical chem lab is going to be intense and I'm a little stressed about it, but that just motivates me to work harder on understanding the material 😌 Besides, the lab instructor is great and I'm very lucky I managed to sign up for her class!
