I very much enjoyed @anotherkindofmindpod 's most recent series Fine Tuning but something has been bothering me.
In Fine Tuning - Episode 10: Unseen Paul they discuss Icke's book. Around 1h57m (by Spotify's reckoning -- 1:59m on Apple) Phoebe says she got her translations of Icke's book from Google translate, but I know that's not true. She had extensive email conversations with @packyourromanticmind about the book, in which pyrm shared a full translation of the chapter about the Beatles. When I first heard the episode I assumed that pyrm didn't want to be credited, but I've asked her and she was as surprised as I was that she wasn't mentioned.
pyrm was delighted to go into detail with Phoebe about the book she spent weeks translating with her German-speaking mother. Especially because AKOM would reach a wider audience and help shed new light on the Beatles' experience in Hamburg. She wasn't looking for credit, but it was a bit of a shock to hear all their effort credited to a quick search on Google Translate. (Phoebe's aside where she says "later explaining: oh, I thought you were gay" isn't even from Icke's book, it's from another book that pyrm mentioned while they were talking.)
Those of you who follow @tillthereweretangents (my shared project with @ilovedig) will remember the hard work pyrm and her mother did translating that book for us, and she was invaluable in all our efforts to uncover Icke's story (tracking down out of print books and more). We weren't happy relying on Google Translate to understand Icke's book, and neither was Phoebe.
Credit where credit is due, @anotherkindofmindpod.

So much has been written about Hey Jude and Let it Be,I will let them be for now.
I want to start with a lesser known, solo track, Don’t Let it Bring You Down, from London Town.
First, the music.
It starts low with swirling, chaotic music from the distorted guitar and Irish tin whistle.
The vocal starts with Paul singing in his low register.
“Though something’s in life are hard to bear,
Don’t let it bring you down.”
With next lyric, the music goes up an octave.
“Should the sand of time run out on you
Don't let it bring you down.”
The middle register for the bridge:
“Don't go down - don't go underground
Things seem strange, but they change
How they change”
The main message of the song, this will pass, as all things do.
For a me, sliding into a bout of depression, the imagine is powerful:
“Up and down your carousel
Will go
Don’t let it bring you down.”
The carousel becomes the main image. The swirling music is not actually chaotic, it
is the carnival.
Up and down, and their synonyms populate the spare lyrics. And reinforce the message:
“Don’t go down,
Don’t go underground
Get to know how it goes
When the price you have to pay
Is high
Don’t let it bring you down.
Down, run out, underground, up, high. To these ears it is and optimistic song, but it is no With a Little Luck. Speaking at first from the underground, the music goes up and down, the suggestion is this state of being will not last forever. The advice, get to know how it goes, is insightful and could have come out of the mouth of my therapist. Hang on, my moods are changeable and sometimes it is enough to hold on and wait. Er, let it be, until the carousel goes up.
A simple sing with a quiet simple message, in it’s quiet and understanding optimism, it is easy for thes depressed brain to ear and take in.

Stuart Sutcliffe was an important member of The Beatles. He helped come up with the name and was always the first to adopt a new clothes or hairstyle. He was also John’s closest friend. John and the others would be forced to endure an unexpected tragedy on April 10, 1962. In this episode, we’re talking about the circumstances and atmosphere surrounding the death of Stuart Sutcliffe.
(Larry notes: This covers events of three weeks ago. Sorry for the delay in postproduction. I took some time off in April. It's an hour long! Perfect to take with you on a hike, or something.)

[ID: Digital illustration in color of Vash and Wolfwood from Trigun Maximum. It’s two 3 panel comics that illustrates the same sequence. The first focuses on Vash. In the first panel, he’s in a hurried motion with a worried expression. In the second, he’s stopped, huffing a breath out as he’s scanning for Wolfwood (not pictured). In the final panel, he breaks out into a relieved smile, eyes lighting up with warm cheeks.
The second comic focuses on Wolfwood. In the first panel, he’s looking downwards to the right with a cigarette in his mouth, wearing a neutral expression. On his face are notable scratch marks to indicate him being in a fight prior. In the second panel, he turns towards the viewer, lifting his head as he notices Vash (as from the previous sequence). In the final panel, he smiles warmly with teeth and holds up a peace sign. END ID]

[ID: Sketchy black and white drawings of Vash and Wolfwood, continuing off the comic. Wolfwood’s back is to the viewer while Vash’s profile can be seen, now by Wolfwood’s side. He has a bright smile as he says to Wolfwood, “You’re safe!” Wolfwood responses, bearing a grin too, “Who do ya think yer talking to? ‘Course I am. Look, I got them alive.” He points to two figures who are tied up and have comically large head bumps. Vash looks to them with an uncertain expression as he says, “Oh! You did, huh… Are you sure they’re alive?” Wolfwood, with a more irritated expression, responds “What, didn’t think I could do it?” Vash says, “No, no! I knew you could!” and pats Wolfwood on the cheek and his head comfortingly. END ID]

Some alien royalty comes to Earth to claim Captain Marvel as their husband for his power. He manages to get out if it by proclaiming that he's already engaged to the Princess of the Infinite Realms, Princess Danielle "Ellie" Phantom.
Extra: Billy is still hiding the fact that he's actually still a child from the rest of the League. Ellie is roughly his civilian age, so when the League asks to meet her, hijinks ensue as Ellie has to keep up the appearance of being far older than she actually is, both physically and mentally.

Fine Tuning: Ep 10 Unseen Paul Unseen Paul builds on our earlier episodes by sharing even more quotes, stories, and insights about young Paul McCartney, who deserves a nuanced and dynamic portrait in any Beatles biography. We explore some of his more overlooked character traits: his quirks and gifts; his stressors and anxieties; his unusual interests and values. These features reveal him as a fascinatingly dualistic artist and person. Listen HERE

Kara: Good morning! Tristen: Hey-.. you’re extra cheerful today. Kara: Well..! [Kara draped herself over Tristen’s shoulder, whispering to him excitedly for a moment before sliding into her own chair, grinning from ear to ear] Tristen: Really? [Sergio slapped his newspaper, cursing his terrible hearing] Sergio: No whispering at the table! [Kara giggled mischievously as her father chastised her] Kara: I am a grown woman, papa! I do as I please. Xanto: [imitating his father] My roof, my rules. [Tristen swallowed a smirk as Giorgia yelled at her incorrigible children in Tartosan, something about not annoying their father before he finished his coffee] Xanto: Are you coming to the beach today? Tristen: Eh-… Giorgia: You go! Tristen: I guess so-.. isn’t it a bit cold? Xanto: Nah, it’s the first day of spring. Kara: We celebrate! Giorgia: You cannot ignore your work, Xan. Xanto: I think I’m coming down with something… [Xanto groaned and clutched his stomach dramatically] Sergio: Tch, useless boy. Xanto: Rude. Giorgia: You go to work first! Xanto: I took the day off, relax! Tristen made himself useful and cleared the table in silence, though Sergio’s bellowing laughter soon put him at ease. He never knew whether they were joking or arguing once the bickering reached a certain crescendo; but their passion was always palpable, good or bad, and Tristen often wished he could express himself half as well as the Ossani’s…

McCartney Music and Depression
I struggle with depression and one way I cope is with music. Not unusual.  I find Paul McCartney's music can be an antidote (no surprise for the generally optimistic point of view,) but there are also songs that speak directly to the experience.  We know he experienced depression, but also, his daughter, Heather, struggled with it as well.  Below is a taste of my many "McCartney Cheer Up" playlists with different facets to help address the different feelings and experiences connected to this illness, at least for me. But can I really be the only one?
Please know these songs are jump off point and by no means an exhaustive list, and would love to hear comments and other suggestions (and yes, pushback!)
