This has been a difficult post to prepare. After much thought, I wish to share some very interesting information. Some know from my recent post, I went to Ozlander in Melbourne, Australia on March 14 & 15, 2020, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Richard and Sophie. As a premium ticket holder, I enjoyed lunch with them on both days. They would individually spend 5 minutes or so at each table and rotate through the tables to meet the fans. At the event introduction on Day One, we were asked to respect Richard and Sophie by not asking questions of a personal nature, which naturally, everyone understood. Therefore, I wasn’t going to ask anything about Sam, Cait, or even Tony. So, I was more than surprised when Sophie briefly mentioned Cait’s wedding!

  Sophie visited our table and we talked about a number of things. It was Sophie’s first trip to Australia; Caitriona had been here and had told Sophie how nice it was. Someone asked Sophie, 'You went to Caitriona’s wedding, didn’t you?'

  'Yeah, Caitriona’s husband is a lovely guy.' (Did she just say that, I thought?)

  I asked Sophie, 'You and Sam were the only cast members that went?'

  And she replied, 'No, Tobias was there as well.' Interesting.

  Sophie then added she took the photo of Sam in the Dunhill suit (remarkable weekend).

  'The background had to be photoshopped as we couldn’t give away the location. It got onto social media and Caitriona wasn’t that pleased about it,' Sophie said a little ruefully. (Sam had posted the photo on IG. The right-side background looks very photoshopped.)

  During a photo session on Day Two, I asked Sophie, 'Did Caitriona marry Tony?' with the emphasis on the word Tony.

 'Yeah,' she said with a smile.

 'Really?' I asked.

 'Yes. Really,' Sophie said.

 Then I said, 'Well she doesn’t say his name and hasn’t released any photos so...'

 'I don’t know...,' Sophie said pleasantly enough. Wow!! Being so busy and so involved with OL for so long, I don’t think she fully appreciated how all the Tait secrecy is being perceived in the fandom.

Okay, a photo or some sort of evidence or it didn't happen. This info from Sophie was really unexpected. What sort of proof would be acceptable and not immediately suspected anyway? Nevertheless, I believe I have the evidence I need to satisfy myself. Someone else who was at the same Day One table, has confirmed to me in writing (I contacted her a week or so after the event) she heard Sophie say all this as well. I don’t think my acquaintance follows the ins and outs of the SC/Tait drama. I don’t think most of the people at Ozlander did from conversations I had and the general talk I heard. So, my witness doesn’t have a vested interest in The Narrative and, I believe, just gave a purely objective confirmation.

If I had heard Sophie say Cait married Sam, you would probably believe it, put this info in the receipt warehouse, and any evidence would be a bonus. I have been wanting truth no matter what it is. I’ll just deal with it. While it’s greatly disappointing, I do wish Cait and Sam happiness in life whomever they find it with.

I discovered OL 18 months ago and have only been active on Tumblr for 8 months. So, I am still a newb of sorts. Some might say a naïve babe in the woods with not much to lose. However, I’ve met some wonderful people on this side of the fence and I will probably lose friendships and reputation, be unfollowed and blocked, receive a lot of vitriol, be called a troll working for (fill in the blank), etc., due to this heresy. So, my info does come at a price for me. I understand I have not experienced years of surviving on this side of the fence, enduring the delusional tag and the attacks and insults from antis, NST, TPTB, Shamuso, and even some from Sam and Cait, and being thrown under the bus when convenient. I get, in principle, some shippers will close ranks and support any higher-profile shippers who don’t believe me. I anticipate this will be the response. One way to discredit information is to discredit the person presenting it, and I assume this tactic will be employed as well.

So why am I putting my head on the chopping block? Notoriety? Hardly. Well, as I said, I want intel even if it conflicts with what I hope for. I believe people can ship the way they want (within reason) and as KDS infamously said, believe what you want. I don’t wish to convince anybody, nor get into a slanging match with anyone. It would be pointless really. I feel obligated out of principle to reveal the info and not hide it no matter how controversial and inconvenient that might be. I understand some may not think it a good time in the fandom right now to deal with this but I didn’t want the info dating too much before putting it on the table. I understand and I am sorry. But is there an optimal time to hear this?

People like I, who want to know what is going on or had suspicions, and are prepared to accept this information, will welcome it. They have had enough of the mess that is happening right now in The Narrative as well. Also, I don't wish to be intimidated into keeping contrary evidence hidden just because it doesn’t suit the manifesto. And I apologise in advance to high-profile shippers who will probably be inundated with comments and asks. I accept there will be jealousy involved. Why did a newb get this intel? Believe me, I wish it didn’t happen to me; I really wish it was someone else. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

For the record, yes, I’m Australian living in Australia. I understand some people’s problem with that. Why does so much narrative controversy emanate from this place? I don’t know. I wish I knew. We often call it the lucky country (for various reasons). Do we appear have more luck than the Irish?!

However, and unfortunately, this does not provide closure for me. I accept the Tait wedding. I do have problems with the Tait marriage, sorry to say. I don’t know why games are being played. Cait still doesn’t call her husband Tony, there were no wedding or engagement photos made public, and no confirmation from her PR team when wedding articles hit the magazines. It seems like secrecy, not privacy. Why so secret? We continue to see gaslighting, innuendo, and an intentional vagueness, to keep us all engaged it seems?! And Hawaiigate is certainly a head scratcher at best.

So, in summing up, the four things I learnt about the wedding are:

1. The wedding happened.

2. Cait married Tony.

3. Tobias was there.

4. Sam posted Sophie’s remarkable Dunhill manipulated photo on IG and Cait wasn’t too happy about it.

Most shippers won’t like my saying Tait is real and most antis won’t like my saying Sam and Cait continue to play games. But that’s ok. I knew this going in. I just think it is important for the info to be put out there. I don’t wish to appear foolish, talking about a fake wedding, now that I know Cait married Tony. I think there must be other intel such as this out there. Perhaps the time is right for others to make their intel known.

I believe the four things Sophie said about the wedding. I do not have any further intel to share, nor do I have any further theories on what is happening with Sam, Cait, or Tony that haven’t been discussed on Tumblr already. With this in mind, I’m prepared to answer every constructive and civil comment I may receive on this post, including any DMs. If you wish, please look through my blog to see what I have posted. You will find it aligns with this side's thinking. You may see some names that do not. Please consider the message, not the messenger. And please, it would be appreciated if you would do some homework before making any comment. Thank you for your time in reading this long and very difficult post. I imagine, many will take some time to process it.

I want to thank you for being a voice of mature reason concerning Ji’s photos on insta where he’s wearing his lips shirt. I’m a kd believer but that shirt (@ the necklace) is a rolling stones homage since a) they’re touring the US, b) their stylists pick their clothes as you said & c) capitol records paid for an article in rolling stone magazine to try and showcase anyone who didn’t support sperm as a hate-sending anti. So angry. You can feel the heat. So many of these Extreme shippers are furious that the fantasy they concocted turned out to be just that: a fantasy.

Sometimes, as a MATURE adult, mrsD79,   you just have to accept that even TV celebrities don’t do what you wanted them to do, and learn to control your anger. Otherwise you look like a child throwing a tantrum. 

Every day, recently,  I have to wade through hundreds of ‘receipts’ sent by Extreme Shippers and coming across my blog (whilst I search for something new on Outlander and its cast)  in a but-desperate attempt to ‘prove’ that Sam and Cait  were more than just good friends, that Cait got pregnant every time her belly bulged, that they share a house together rather than just visit like friends do, that going to the theatre together proves that they are secretly married..... 

 Well, maybe, just maybe it  was the case. BACK THEN. Most of those hot ‘receipts’ date from 2014, 2015, 2016....Maybe she changed her mind. People do, you know. Just look at the number of people who divorce even after promising, in the sight of God and in the face of this congregation, to stick together for as long as they live. 

Or, maybe, just maybe,  the ‘star-crossed lovers’   had a blazing row and the ‘assistant’  saw his chance and popped the question.  Maybe he was indeed the tag-along, the sunglass holder who made good. Or the spare who became the heir. Or the alternative who wasn’t down the gym all day. Or just convenient shoulder to weep on, the man who stayed up late to give her her supper, the man who rubbed her tired feet, the loyal boyfriend who didn’t have conventional matinee idol good looks but instead possessed charm and a great sense of humour, the man who proved his love by his devotion. it happens.... 

Or maybe, just maybe, as a grown adult, mrsd79 (let me guess, born in 1979? So that would make you, what, ...40?) you might just consider that Sam and Cait NEVER were an item (which, after all,  is what she said, all along, wasn’t it? ). And maybe, just maybe, (unlike Sam?) she’d had enough of playing the hollywood  PR games and begged Albrecht and Moore  to let her do the denial interview. We never saw her reaction to KDS’s ‘believe what you want to believe’, did we? I’ll bet she was mighty pissed. But we did see  a change in the SamCait  relationship once she got engaged, didn’t we? No more nipple kissing, no more tonguing....

Whatever the truth, whatever the real story, not the fantasy one conjured up by Extreme Shippers,  she’s married Tony now. In a Catholic wedding ceremony.  And her mum and sisters were there, along with her oldest friends

Maybe, just maybe Tony was there right from 2014, as the Original Boyfriend, just like the antis claim, whilst Sam was chasing blondes round the swimming pools of Loas Angeles. Wasn’t Tony, after all, the one she always went on holidays with, at Christmas and at New Year?   Even though he does indeed wear sideburns  (I wonder how that Aussie shipper knows what a 1970′s porn star looked like, btw?SMH)  

But evidently, Mrs Balfe-McGill wants to keep her private life PRIVATE. Do you blame her, the way you extreme shippers have abused and harrassed her?  And not only Cait, but her boyfriend/fiance/ now husband, who never signed up for the life of a celebrity. 

The private lives of Sam and Cait are their business, not yours, or ours, or even mine. Even if they are ‘celebrities’. So maybe, just maybe, you should learn to control that temper of yours. And let them live the life the way they want to, not the way you and all those other shippers want them to. 

Oh, and I believe this was dated January 2016. About the time T & C started seriously dating each other. Was that before or after the IFH?

no way LOL its not possible for a well known ship such as kaisoo to have no fandom at all 😂, not sure if it has changed from 2016, but kfans ship kaisoo mainly under the surface, they talk about them more freely under the table. back in 2016, kaisoo was one of the major ship that became a sensitive topic due to media attention on pann's gay blind item.

then apparently due to hate / antis/ 'privacy' the kfandom much shifted undersurface. (highly recommend to read: this)

now in 2018, there are still alot of kaisoo kfans around, evidently by kaisoo kfans twt accs. From what my friends saw on twitter some fansites still hold kd exhibitions, kaisoo kfans even went out on kaisoo days for celebration (private, not fansites hosted)

as for fansites, ships dont have to be real in order to have fansites. but good question. theories back then was, fansites were forced to coverup, quiet down, and behave during kxk. and many just shut down or went on hiatus. what we mentioned In older posts was (my opinion still stand though) take kaiserdxlly as the most prominant dominant kaisoo site for example, they reduced posting moments after a few months to the start of kxk (point=they didnt hiatus BC of kxk) they suddenly went on a hiatus AFTER most of the kxk hype died down (jan2017)

Tired of Outlander Drama

I’ll always have the books, which I love, even though DG is problematic as hell. I’ve been here for years. Sam’s casting? I had doubts (this guy? really?...But that “Come on, Sassenach” in the promo was pretty good. Really good.) and Cait? (I thought, “she’s too tall” but then I heard her answer Dougal’s question: “what’s your name lass?” “Claire. Claire Beauchamp” and she was Claire to me. When J&C had their first stand off after she ran away from the highlanders, S&C embodied J&C, for me. “I Guess then that means you’re comin’ w’ me.” Yeah, they got it right. Didn’t we all fall in love with them? I did. I freaking loved it all. Isn’t fandom freakin’ great? I’ve been on every FB group out there (ousted out of the big, nefarious one for talking back to the asshole in charge-kiss my arse, weirdo). I’ve left most of the groups because all they post is Jamie coming out of the Mill Pond. I like to see the BTS Shots. The first time I thought there was something interesting going on between S&C was the pic of them on a horse and he’s talking in her ear and she’s laughing. Hmmm. What’s this? Then the sexy photo shoots. Heart eyes and fingers entwined around awards and C wearing 2 gold rings and their hands joined impossibly together on an antler behind them in a bar? Why do they do this stuff? (I’m just imaging things, right?) 

So yeah, it was fun to follow, for awhile. S&C were certainly having a lot of fun. That ping pong paddle Q&A? “You are!”” You are!. “She’s got wifi on set, she’s got wifi in the make up chair....” They were adorable, unfettered, and joyous. We have not seen that version of S&C in a long while. What happened? It just abruptly stopped. The last SDCC? Painful. People love that Josh Horowitz fake therapy session thing? I think it’s forced and weird. The last FB live! thing? Sam and his lame phallic innuendo? Nope. 

Anyway, I don’t post much but I read everything. On both sides.  Here’s what I think: The anti’s, NST’s, whatever they call themselves are comprised of two levels. The first is an all out PR assault to dissuade people from thinking S&C are together and encourage (through long, lengthy, posts and CAPS, and FACTS, etc.) people to consider another story line. When someone bites, they get rewarded. “Thanks for your input, @blandfollower” or they share the screencaps that thirsty followers submit to “turn in shippers”. Bloggers get a rush from the recognition, they are part of the shake down and keep contributing. It’s an all out war for fandom truth. It’s droll, boring, tedious, and uninspiring. Shippers are the other side. These are primarily women who want to believe in hetero love. That’s not wrong. When I see C hugging S in that chemistry test video I imagine vividly what he feels like, what he smells like. Yes, the pheromone theory certainly applies here. He is a gorgeous man. She is a gorgeous woman. Wanting there to be something between them is natural for some people. If you spoon feed people (women) this romance they will buy it because if you are a cis hetero woman this feels good. You want more of it. S&C and their little videos talking about “do you believe in love at first sight?”, and “ “He’s perfect” and ”So is she” perpetuate the idea of the ultimate heterosexual love and they capitalized on that every step of the way. Think of C feigning jealousy over other “actresses!” Why did she do that? Act jealous of KDS during interviews? It’s all PR.  All of that was designed, maybe innocently in the beginning, to draw us in, and then it abruptly stopped. The IFH and all that came with it followed. I don’t have an answer for this. I can’t see T putting his high heeled foot down and saying “no more! She is my woman!” Gah, come on. No matter how many photos of “Tony’s Greatest Hits” are blogged it doesn’t create chemistry. I don’t know what this engagement is but it is weird. As weird as S being in love with a young, conservative, woman who lives thousands of miles away. All of it is PR lies, initiated by Starz and fed through the PR feed hole and propagated by various blogs. Here is what I’ve pondered on regarding people needing the support of a team mate. I had a male co-worker I loved very much. We hugged when things were tough, he was always there for me when I needed anything. He could tell if my mood changed and he wanted to help me sort things out. He was engaged to his girlfriend. He was just a good guy.

That’s what I think Sam is. Just a good, attentive, sweet, masculine (in his own way) kind of guy who offers his large shoulders to lean on for warmth or support. S&C just want to enjoy the fun that is acting. So, they played it up. They saw the hungry women for J&C and they played into it because it was good for the show and good for them and so many of us got caught up in the ride.

Think of what S&C had to deal with when OL first came out. Their first fan event was like “whoa! where did that come from?”. If I had a solid dude to hang on to during something like that I would have stayed close as possible at all times. They have obviously been each other’s champions in all of this from the start. They bonded from the very beginning. They held on to each other as best friends throughout all of this craziness but they went too far with innuendo to sell the show, DVDs, cons, etc. (“hope you find your own sassenach”)  It got out of hand and then they had to shut it down. IFH, bearding, Shatner, increased Tumblr opposition, photo ops, pap walks. I’m not going to say much about the whole Shatner thing because I think “JMIAD” had that nailed down with her Camuso post. His part in celeb PR is not exclusive to OL, he’s been trashing celebs and fandoms for years. It’s repulsive and is PR at it’s worst. 

But that is how we get our Outlander information now, through PR. PR on TW, JJ, Daily Mail. Fan interaction is shut down. The most popular OL blog has been silenced. You know everyone checked Jess’s blog everyday. Jess was pushed out by aggressive PR that bullied her and her followers. That is how I see it. That is what I have observed. It was shut down to stop the S&C are together story line but it also shut down a huge portion of the fandom. Who cares anymore? These new story lines that CO and Purv are AGGRESSIVELY pushing (see the caps for emphasis? That makes it TRUE!) are boring. Uninspired. They push their story lines so hard it makes me want to take off the painful shoes I’m not wearing. Why are your trying so hard??? I suspect you’re being paid so if you can’t take a break from your PR nonsense just know that there are loads of people who see your “doth protest too much” machinations, and most people think you’re way overselling. And also, yawn. I’ve been gaslighted. I thought about all the times I was accused of “being crazy” because I felt strongly about something my husband couldn’t understand and I thought about my experience in the OL fandom. I’m a fan of many things but this is the first time I engaged online with other fans. What makes it confusing is that in the beginning it was an organic experience, and it was all new for them, That’s why it felt personal for so many people. But assholes overstepped boundaries and fans got weird. People with too much time on their hands ruined this fandom and it was all blamed on shippers because it was the easiest, most effective way to shut down relationship talk. The talk that production and the actors perpetuated for years. S&C are friends but lead people to believe it was something more and then chastised those fans for believing the bullshit they were served up. It’s abusive. Anytime you tell someone they don’t feel what they feel, that is abuse. 

TL:DR S&C aren’t a romantic couple. They played it up for years because it sold the show. They aren’t into each other romantically but they love and look after one another. People read into it because people want to believe in the power of love...but love comes in many forms. It doesn’t have to be between a man and a woman and it doesn’t have to be romantic. Production exploited our emotions; S&C exploited our emotions and I’m just sitting here thinking: I’m sure they will enjoy their next holiday. In the meantime, I’ve cancelled Starz. Cheers! I didnt mean that kd is fanservice..i personally think they are real. But most exols think they are fanservice and that’s why i think they’re brave(r) onstage, especially ji. And the small proof like ji looking jealous when ksoo kissed baek is something only kd shippers pick up on and they probably know that. But ji hid that photo bc fans in general watch his lives, and it could potentially cause a scandal if normal exols + kpop fandom discovered he has a framed photo like that. just my thoughts
