I literally cannot make this shit up. Sophia Di Martino has obliterated the 'canon' ship. It has sank deeper than the titanic I'm afraid.
She called it "weird", "same person". The kiss was not romantic, meaning she just wanted to "go through with her plan" of killing He Who Remains.
"It's been fun, dude...so see ya" LMAOOO
I would be so embarrassed if Tom said that about Mobius💀

crazy to me that people think two characters (who are variants of each other) with COMPLETE OPPOSITE desires in life would be good together & make each other happy ??
if it wasn’t already made clear before, this episode realllly laid it out for us:
loki: “i don’t want to be alone.”
vs.
sylvie: “i do.”

My current state of mind
like I’m fairly certain that Disney won’t let lokius become canon, which yknow, sucks, but I was kind of expecting that. As long as they stay together in some way shape or form and sylkie doesn’t get together last minute I’ll be content :,)

Disney did not make Loki canonically bi to make him end up with a gender bent version of himself he has absolutely no chemistry with and if that is how they end this story I will commit war crimes.
Edit: I don’t care if a bi person ends up with someone of the opposite gender. It doesn’t stop them from being bi. All I want is for sylki to not happen because the characters have no chemistry and if Sylvie was a male variant it wouldn’t even be a question if they would end up together because they wouldn’t. I’d like lokius to happen, but I care more that sylki doesn’t happen because the idea of building up these characters only to have them in a relationship with themselves is a waste. I don’t think that’s biphobia(?) because I think these characters deserve better than a sylki ending.

My Lokius heart
While Sylvie was ok with Loki sacrificing himself to save the world, Mobius was left alone and devastated because Loki was HIS world. He had no reasons to stay in the TVA anymore so he went to a place where he knew Loki could watch him. If that isn't a love story, what the hell it is?

the scene where loki and mobius narrowly escape death together, wrapped in each others arms was SO gay. but of course they had to ruin it with loki immediately bringing up sylvie afterwards.

I just want to reflect how much the Loki show ruined Loki as a character for me and how much disheartened I was with it.
I had always wanted a spinoff on him, which explored him more. And the Loki show did anything but that.
Do you guys remember how Loki was in Infinity War for like 5 minutes, yet Tom Hiddleston was at almost every media interaction the cast had? The same thing happened in the show as well. They used him to market the show, then sidelined him in his own show. I think that was unacceptable, because they used Loki as a bait to promote a character that I held no emotions for.
Sylvie.
The argument that one does not like Sylvie because they “hate a strong female character/a character with complex arcs” is so pathetic. I don’t think I would’ve liked Sylvie even if she had the most elaborate arc in the MCU (which she doesn’t) because it just wasn’t meant to be about her.
I wanted to see Loki’s story, his journey, and if you take this moment to interject with the statement that “she’s Loki too, just different”, then I say that I wanted to see our Loki, the one who was broken when he found out that he was the monster parents told their children about at night, the one who had plethora of iconic dialogues while fighting the avengers, who was killed only for us to realize that he wasn’t.
Everytime I said that we needed a Loki spinoff before it was announced was not because I wanted new characters, it was because I wanted to see more of the character that was already there, very much beloved by the fans. I wanted them to explore his character in a deeper sense and maybe dip a little into mythology as well.
I think Loki was one of those characters that neither needed a love interest nor was ready for one. I don’t ship him with either Sylvie or Mobius, because it feels like neither of them genuinely like Loki for who he is.
Loki had far more compelling things they could have explored like his jotun heritage, his trauma from the time with Thanos and his magic that is the only memory he has of Frigga instead of his love life.
The whole show felt like it was written by someone who wasn’t the least bit interested in Loki and barely looked into him before creating his female counterpart.
It feels like a disrespect for the fans who were connected to Loki on an emotional level.
Why am I saying this now, after like 2 years since the show came out?
I don’t know, after hearing the news about season 2 releasing in October, I just feel so upset. Tired. I hate this show much because it made Loki so irrelevant to me. A sidepiece in his own show. He went around in ugly costumes and all the regal vibes I had from him just disappeared.
I still remember a time when Loki was on the top of my favorite characters, and I loved him so much. I still do, but I’m not sure if I’ll watch the 2nd season and my 13 y/o self would hate me for this.
I’ve gotten detached from his character and I hate myself for it because Loki was someone whom I adored more than anything else in the fandom world.
Loki is that one character who is loved by the fanon but absolutely despised by the canon.

Something that I find kind of fascinating about Jane and Mobius is that, despite Loki comparing the two, they're almost complete opposites in every way. To the point where I think Mobius must have been deliberately written as a foil to Jane (despite not being in the same story with her (technically)). Jane is young and a bit naive, Mobius is old and fairly cynical. Jane is a woman, Mobius is a man. Jane works on her own outside of the major system (SHIELD) in the Thor movie, while Mobius leads teams within the major system of Loki (the TVA). Because Jane works outside of SHIELD, she starts off Thor less knowledgeable about the movie's universe than Thor himself: Mobius, in contrast, starts out Loki knowing more about the TVA than both Loki and the show's audience. Thor crash lands into Jane's life unexpectedly, a complete stranger to her; Mobius has studied Loki extensively and expects him (kidnaps him, kind of). Jane is surround by family; Mobius doesn't know who his family is. Jane has zero agenda with regard to Thor, while Mobius wants to recruit Loki. Heck, even their names are contrasting, one being very common, the other, not.
But they have one important similarity that, despite their vast differences, makes it obvious who Loki is thinking about in his own life when he makes the comparison in 2x04 - both Jane and Mobius come upon Thor and Loki at low points in their lives and believe in them when they're unable to believe in themselves. And it's through this faith and this trust that they work a change in both gods.
Thor and Loki generally operate as foils or mirrors (or mirror foils, lol), so it makes a lot of sense to me that their love interests would be highly contrasting characters as well. Originally, when I started looking into it, I was kind of alarmed at how few similarities Mobius and Jane shared, especially since Jane and Sylvie share a bunch. But two opposite characters who are able to give Thor and Loki (who are also opposite characters) the same thing when they need it makes much more sense to me than Loki's Jane being very similar Thor's Jane.

A little reminder that when everything went to hell and Loki found himself alone with a really deadly danger, and also with a feeling of impossible fear and loneliness, it happened because Sylvie just left.
When he so desperately needed someone around, someone.
She just left him to die.
Because he didn't have the tempad to escape from the destroying TVA like she did.
Even if she didn't know it was going to happen, the fact remains that she left him.
And does anyone really find such cruelty romantic?

The lokius soundtrack playing as Loki was becoming the god of stories was symbolic. He wouldn't have fulfilled his glorious purpose if it wasn't for Mobius' love and affection.

I really like Sylvie. She's a great character and a good Loki variant. What I DON'T like is Disney forcing the selfcest of Loki in love with Loki.
Sylvie=great
Sylki=gross

ngl i got so scared they were gonna make mobius a fucking white picket fence two kids and a loving wife…and then they gave us “single dad” mobius “wife is long gone” hmm you’re really my friend? okay i ain’t arguing with a tall, handsome, dark haired stranger guess i’ll just follow you anywhere.
and then i was happy bc sylvie is so happy in her life!! by herself!!
and THEN i got so scared when loki & sylvie went for a drink and i was like alright here we go…and then i got “of course i know you. your friends are where they’re supposed to be. we’re writing our own stories. write your own.” and “i want my friends. i don’t want to be alone”
and then i was happy again bc she left to go listen to records!! and the record shop guy is cute! maybe she thought so. maybe not! she’s just vibing!!
and then i got, “it’s about who” while staring right at mobius.
what a fucking rollercoaster.

sorry to be back on my anti sylki bs but it’s BAFFLING how so much of the fandom doesn’t see what the relationship between them ACTUALLY is. it’s literally about loki recovering and his SELF DISCOVERY - aka the whole point of the show. it’s not true romance it’s symbolism.
“i just want you to be okay.” HMMM i wonder! oh jee what other reason could he have for saying this that ISNT passionate love for yk, a version of HIMSELF?!!!! it is so obvious to me and idk how its slipped some peoples minds
anyway live laugh love lokius

before season 2 aired i thought we would never get our original Mobius back. I thought they were going to shove Sylki down our throats. i thought i was going to have to slough through a poorly written, unbearable season of tv just to get little crumbs of Loki and Mobius interacting.
but this. this far surpassed anything i could have hoped for. even if this story hadn’t been Loki’s i would have devoured it. it was clever and well thought out. it was well written with amazing sets and lighting and music. it played up strengths from season 1 that i thought for sure they had long abandoned. like the incredible and compelling setting that is the TVA. and making the cast an ensemble with the already stellar cast they had (and adding the instantly lovable O.B.). Tom was excellent. Owen was phenomenal. and every scene we got with them together was a gift.
the story was crafted with care and forethought and amazing attention to detail. you can’t say that about most big budget studio stories these days. i’m so in awe of everything this season was. it far surpassed season 1 for me and honored the legacy of Loki in a way i never could have dreamed. i honestly think it will go down as one of the most epic seasons of tv ever, for me.
it may have ended bittersweet, but it really didn’t feel like the end of Loki and Mobius’s story to me. it definitely feels like there’s more to tell. and i can’t wait.
