As a female fan, I couldn't give less of a fuck about Rey's movie. She's not a character as much as she is a corporate white feminist product to generate headlines, with little to no depth or interesting characteristics.
YES exactly !!! I just hate that it puts us, women who don't like this idea, in the spot of potentially agreeing with sexist men who don't want women in the top billing.
But yes, she's just simply poorly written, and completely undeserving of the arc of being the person to bring the Jedi back. Why does a character who provided literally nothing to the plot, or show any growth whatsoever get to take on the Skywalker name and get to complete Luke's goal? Bullshit tbh

I really don't care about Rey.
I cared about General Leia, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.
I cared about Ben Solo.
Why can't they do a movie with Leia, Han and Luke set between the end of TRoTJ to TFA?
Disney sucks.

I have my problems with TLJ but I am amazed by people saying that everything was detroyed by this film and thus TRoS was left with nothing when...
Well, so many people did fanfictions about it (and I don't necessarly speak about shippy ones) that found loose threads to continue.
(Not to say that fanfiction is the alpha and omega and the same as writing a film's scenario but the elements were here.)
And on top of that, it doesn't destroy that much you know? At the end of the day, the Jedi are still celebrated. RJ backpedalled a lot in the last part of the movie.
It was not a radical movie at all and the next instalment was pretty much written tbh. Stormtroopers rebellion, big enemies in the technocrats and likes with Hux, the knights of Ren. Maybe even Rey being less of a self-righteous asshole. It would not have been the most inspired thing but it could have worked.
(And I don't speak about Kylo Ren's character.)
That was not that difficult to make a continuity. DLF was just too weak to criticism and had no plan.
But please stop saying that the TV shows are saving Star Wars. I watched some of them and even the best are not that great.
I like fast food but even the best fast food are still fast food, you know...

I don't get it, I just don't get it. I'm watching tfa for the first time in forever, probably second time, but okay, I don't enjoy this movie.
As I'm watching I think of Fandoms, the movie is too boring for me, and I'm like. Why do people like kylo Ren? He throws a tantrum because some people are not doing their work, he listens to a big guy who in the end is nothing, literally nothing, he is just not interesting. None of the new characters are to me. Poe might, but I don't rememberuch of him or fynn in the next movies and here he is barely in it. I think of my niece who is 5 and I just think, no way I'm having her watch this. Even the prequels I found more entertaining

My thoughts on Reylo and FinnRose:
Reylo: Most underdeveloped ship ever. (And I feel strongly it's because Rey and Kylo aren't really developed, sadly.)
Like, really. What makes Kylo so special to Rey? Why does she resort to him when she has Finn and Poe and (if the creators actually let her be there and talk to Rey) Rose? Why does she feel so lonely that she resorts to Kylo?
Like, sure, Rey and Kylo have some really meaningful conversations. Truly. But I don't see the substance. It's all tell don't show. They're bonding over Rey being lonely and being inclined to the dark side and all that, but that's not what's shown in an understandable way.
I mean, Rey has some conflict over her parents and the dark side and learning the force, but why? Why does she struggle with the dark side? What pain does the dark side promise to extinguish? Anakin had a lot of pain and he was angry and loving. The dark side told him he'd be protected from more pain and guaranteed happiness. But why is Rey lonely? She has friends. Does she not feel close with them? That's not what is shown...
Why does she feel flawed? She's perfect. What traits does she have that the dark side wants? She's loving, but not in a way that violates the Jedi code. She's not ambitious, and she's a genuinely good and nice person. She doesn't get angry except at Kylo Ren, but that's resolved quickly because she's forgiving.
Rey is like light side personified.
Rey may have conflict over her parents, but it's not a developed issue. She just misses her parents, but at her age and skillset and circumstances (she can take care of herself, and she's been alone for a long while, and she's very much an adult) she has to have a really good reason for thinking about her parents. Like suspecting that they abandoned her or that they're famous or anything along those lines. And why does she feel they're going to come back? She's been abandoned by her parents since she was little, a kid. Unless they were visiting or something I see no reason Rey would suspect they're gonna come back.
So, there's no reason for Rey to be conflicted or have any issues that only Kylo Ren can solve. And that is the basis of their relationship. The force. The dark side. Dark side traits. Redemption. And Rey isn't a character who is actually rooted in those issues enough for her relationship with Kylo to work.
Also, why does Kylo like her? Rey is beautiful, but I don't see why he's attracted to her other than that. He doesn't seem the person who likes someone who fights him, who battles him, who challenges him. Someone like Rey He takes rejection and anyone challenging him very negatively. He may find her appealing as a way to the light, but if that's what is up, then why not go to his mom? Why didn't he accept Han's offer to go home and do good?
It's telling that he chose to use Rey to kill Snoke and then he refused to redeem himself, and made that horribly lame speech that made it clear that while Kylo liked her he didn't know her nor care about her nor her interests. If he really cared about her, he'd have redeemed himself.
Finnrose: Before I start, I'm gonna mention something-Finn, Poe, and Rose are the most developed new characters in the Skywalker Saga. I mean that seriously. And coincidentally they happen to not be white. I guess it is true that they develop nonwhite characters more so they can justify their presence on screen.
Back to Rose and Finn. There's a lot more substance to their relationship. We actually get to see what they bond over. What they argue about. We see that Finn wants to help Rey, and we see that Rose is so upset about her sister's death and sees Finn as a deserter. We see their conflict, and we know why they're fighting this way.
We see how they judge the problem so big that they work together, we see how they have similar interests and talents and viewpoints, and how they have an honest conversation about the empire and its oppression. Like Finn says "why do you not like this place I think it's AWESOME" and Rose tells him clearly her backstory and the secrets that wherever they were had and Finn listens to her-like actually listens to her. And later on, Rose is so moved by her love for Finn that she changes her viewpoint on how to win the war and saves Finn. It's an equal, loving relationship where they change naturally for each other. Because they want to be better for each other.
I'm not a FinnRose shipper, but it's a very very very developed ship with a lot of substance. It's a really good ship.

YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN KID IS FOR THE LONELY LONER GIRLIES.
the girls who are afraid of commitment or rejection. the archer girls, this is me trying girls, cardigan girls, right where you left me girls. for the burnout kid syndrome girls. the girls who aren't scared to speak their minds. for the girls who built thick walls around their hearts so they wouldn't get hurt. for the girls with unhealthy coping mechanisms.for the girls who doesn't share or show emotion when they needed to. for the girls with undiagnosed eating disorders. for the girls who burn the bridges entirely and immediately but after time couldn't help but wonder at late sleepless nights,if they did the right thing. for the girls that are haunted by their past. for people with childhood trauma. for girls that have to live with haunting memories but would do everything to forget it.for the girls who hate summer. for the girls who hate their hometown. for platonic girls. for the girls, it doesn't matter how much people they are surrounded with they just feel terribly lonely no matter what.

I loved the original trilogy (never been fond of Obi-Wan there though, too Gandalf, I liked the prequels in general, and I started to loooove obi, loved every second of the clone wars serie, loved the general extended universe of the novels/comics, but in general detested the new trilogy and most of the new characters. Enjoyed the mandalorian a lot, though it got me 2 seasons to get invested. That just as a disclaimer.
I'm loooooving the new obi one serie. I love seeing leia and obi, obi's guilt and not being able to tell her the truth, I just love it!
Let me know if I tag anything wrongly or if more tags should be tag, it's not a hate post just my personal opinion on the saga
