in light of christmas season—
—and the fact it's going to take me approximately until the second coming to actually make the thing, i'm posting a description of the 'anticon' (an infernal icon, if u will) of emperor diocletian i've been meaning to grace my desk with:
Diocletian Nubocaligor / Διοκλῆς Κελαινεφής / Дукльанин Келеньев ('Cloud-Darkener', an epithet of Zeus) stands on an island in the middle of the sea, his head turned toward the observer. Floating in the sea are the slain martyrs. A bridge connects the island with the left corner of the icon; it should resemble the 'bridge' of a cathedral facade's blind arcade, as thus. His outstretched hands are tied with a broken chain of iron; in his left hand he holds a folded tome, representing the totality of the anti-Christian edicts issued under the Tetrarchy. In appearance Diocletian ought to resemble traditional depictions of Herod, fellow tetrarch and slayer of the Forerunner; observe, for example, this painting. His turban is stylised to resemble the ancient city of Dioclea (though it should really resemble a kind of city-cized Gothic cathedral). With his right hand the emperor holds a Turkish sabre. The background is dyed black, in commemoration of Diocletian's victory over the Sun; gold details spell out the emperor's name on observer's right (in Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic), and form a decorative lace of Spartium flowers—endemic to the area surrounding Diocletian's Palace in Spalato—surrounding the icon.

I tried to Google it but couldn't find anything -- Glenn wears shirts and jackets that say "anticon" a lot. What is that

Re-Release of one of my favorite albums from @youngsole This album blew my mind the first time I listened to it and to this day it remains embedded in my mind. When @adamgoesham @romoface and I decided to take what we were doing with HHHH and go a different direction, we needed a new name and @hamoneverything came out of my mouth. I was probably subconsciously thinking about track #3 “Salt On Everything” and Kanye and Jay-Z’s song “Ham,” on “Watch The Throne,” and mashed the two together. These were the two styles of Hip-Hop we wanted blend together, along with Indie/Noise/Electronic bands & Djs, then throw them into a sweaty warehouse and see what happens. Everything from Anticon, Project Blowed, Living Legends and underground Hip-Hop worldwide has always been the core for Ham and anything we pursued artistically. Sole’s music has always been the soundtrack to anything I’ve tried to do creatively as a Dj or making music with my friends. After almost 20 years this album still bumps and If your a fan of Hip-Hop I urge you to give the album a listen. https://www.instagram.com/p/Con69j9PDLd/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
