Vast cold crowded silence. That's what this was. Like lying lonesome in a local lake long after the day’d gone dark. So much happening around him, so many stories to be told, and here he was floating. On, and on, and on. Comforted and aching at the same time.
Danny was having a very strange last summer vacation.
Prologue:
Split
It started, as most things do for Danny, with Jack and Maddie Fenton. The two had burst through the house's front door, raving about an old colleague they'd ran into again during their nightly ghost hunting: "Scotland!" they cried in unison.
"We're going to Scotland this summer!"
"We.. Are?" Danny asked worriedly.
“Well, we certainly are!" Jack replied, exploding with giddiness.
"But…" Jazz trailed off expectantly.
"Er, well, me and your mother, anyway." Jack corrected himself.
Maddie continued for her husband: "But not you, obviously, Jazz. We know you've got work and college stuff. And, well, Danny..."
"Danny, we were thinking. This is your last summer before adulthood. Maybe-" Jack said.
"Maybe you're old enough to spend it on your own, and figure out what you want to do for yourself." Jazz finished for them with a smile.
"You.. You mean it?" He asked.
The three nodded. "That's great!" Danny grinned.
And so his summer was set. It was gonna be an awesome couple months!
Except.
Except, when he went to tell Sam and Tucker about it:
"You're both going on college trips? But I thought you were set on MIT, and you've been there a dozen times by now!"
"Well, we were- " Sam replied, hesitantly. "But then we got these new letters, and you see..."
She sighed. "Danny, of all places, Harvard offered us a full ride."
"I know we had everything all planned out, and we wanted to tell you sooner, but-"
Danny groaned. "But you didn’t want to bum me out while we were studying for finals, this is an amazing opportunity, and I'd have to kill you both if you didn't at least think about it?"
He couldn’t even blame them for waiting until now, because he knew he’d probably do the exact same thing in their place.
Sam smiled sadly. "Thanks Danny, love."
"And sorry, dude. Seriously." Tucker added on.
"Hey, maybe this could be a good chance for you, though?" Sam suggested.
"Maybe you can do something just for yourself?"
“I guess so.” Danny said.
The two wrapped him in a hug.
“And hey, you can still give us plenty of ghostly visits while we’re on our trip, you know? You’re our boyfriend after all!” Tucker cheered him.
So here he was, following their collective advice. Or at least, trying to. Alone in space feeding his obsession, swallowing as many stars as could fit in his eyes. The portal was locked, the ghosts knew to leave him alone, and he had all the time he could need to try figuring out what to do with his afterlife.
He’d planned to go to community college, hit the books hard to make up for his bad high school years, and then join Sam and Tucker at MIT. But, if his partners went off to a school as exclusive and Ivy League as Harvard? There’s no way he could make it into there, let alone afford it. And even if he could, he still had no idea what he’d do with himself after finishing college.
Get a job in aerospace engineering so he can at least be close, only for the inevitable trouble that follows him everywhere to steal that away too? Become a professor so he can teach everyone else how to accomplish his hopes and dreams?  No.
The human world is not built for a ghostly prince.
Him, or his space fantasies.

Hey y'all! So as some of you may have read, I recently finished re-watching SU again. While I love this show to death, I was wondering if any of you guys have other animated recommendations for me. I have seen my fair share of cartoons, So I'll try to list them but like if you know of a good one I haven't seen please share :)
(I believe these are all of the ones I have seen: Steven Universe, SU Future, Avatar: The Last Airbender, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, The Owl House, I have seen like half of The Dragon Prince, I'm working my way through Adventure Time, I watched half of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts a while ago so I may finish that soon, Dead End: Paranormal Park, Im halfway through Over the Garden Wall, I've seen a bit of Total Drama Island, and I think that's about it in terms of the stuff I've watched that was originally intended for children lol)
One of my close friends recommended I watch the youtube series version of Bee and Puppycat so that/s also something I'm looking into.
Anyways yeah let me know if you have any recommendations for me :)
Have a great day, and remember: If every porkchop were perfect, we wouldn't have hotdogs!

A list of things that inspire me:
— The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer. An extremely influential book series to me, as it was what got me into reading and eventually writing. It also sparked my fascination with fairy tales and fantasy.
— The Magic Misfits by Neil Patrick Harris. I’ve only read the first two books, but they mean a lot to me. Another one of those things that i read when i was younger and has since left a large mark on me. Probably sparked some of my love for found family lol. And queer representation.
— Nightmares by Jason Segel and Kirsten Miller. Les me into some love of all things spooky and horrifying.
— Poetry.
— The Girl with The Ghost Machine by Lauren DeStefano. Oh my gods the *angst* in this book. I found it in the library one day and decided to give it a read. It permanently changed me.
— the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen. Understandable due to my fairy tale passion.
— folklore
— Music
— Nature
— You guys 💙
— The Trifecta (Gravity Falls, The Owl House and Amphibia)
— Floriography
— The Miraculous Story of Edward Tulane by Kate Dicamello. Read this in grade two for our class’s novel study, and uh… You know, it’s okay for a seven year old to cry in the middle of reading a book with their class. That was something i did. I’m fine (genuine)
— The Night Gardener by Johnathan Auxier. Read it for a novel study also. I had actually read it before, though (only by a few weeks) and had a lovely interaction with my teacher when i saw it on the wall and went “oh my gosh, The Night Gardener? I read that book! It was great!” And she had a moment of. Shock. Anyway it was fine i just couldn’t make predictions.
— fan fiction
— fan art
— Percy Jackson
— Kipo and The Age of Wonderbeasts
— Avatar the Last Airbender
— a Series of Unfortunate Events
— and certainly more…

Do you know any animated show who have good or great diversity that is not performative or tokenism
"There is no such thing as perfect diversity, only diversity"- oogway or some shit
Even the shows I list aren't perfect but you know what? THEY DON'T NEED TO BE! I rather have shaky sincere diversity than checking all the boxes to fit the nonexistent idea of perfection. ANYWAYS HERE WE GOOOOO!!
Kipo and the age of wonderbeasts
Wendell and wild
Moon girl and devil dinosaur
The Hollow
Rescue Heroes (the old version)
Transformers Earthspark
Molly of Denali
Darby and the Dead
Fillmore
Lloyd in Space
Dead End Paranormal Park
Static Shock
The Secret Saturdays
Generator Rex
The cgi He-Man
Early seasons of VLD
That one show about Romeo and Juliet
Elena of Avalor
KND
American Dragon
Hey Arnold
A couple of CW shows like Black Lightning and the one with the football players (i think it's called All Star)
Power Rangers
GI Joe Renegades
Victor and Valentino
A lot of british soaps have Seasian and African characters like Eastenders and Coronation Street
Sleepy Hollow at least before the giant shitstorm that was fridging Abbie
Voltron and She Ra has decent rep once you pick out the rotten areas (again NOTHIN IS PERFECT)
The new Predator movie had an indigenous american woman in the main role
Final Space & Star Trek Lower Decks
Centaurworld
Nnngnn there's a lot more i should remember!!

Ooo we just saw your ask on our dash (we're up early!!) and maybe you already answered this but, what kinds of stories do you like?
When we started to we reas for real we tended to like Warrior Cats and Watership Down. We had a small interest in Tokyo Mew Mew that never got anywhere and when we ran into Shugo Chara! it seemed dangerous and still piqued our curiosity somehow (we don't like everything about how they portray it but it's the closest we ever got to how we've seen our systemhood if we hadn't gotten fucked up psychologically around that time period anyways). We think we also may have been interested in Witchcraft Works because of the art or something. There was also this encyclopedia if cat breeds we always checked out? We can't remember anything specific about it besides the fact we learned about the snowshoe, exotic, munchkin, american curl, and scottish fold from it.
We're pretty sure it was Silva that used to frontnfor school and honwwork-related stuff and Hailey was front for mostly everything else which...explains why we guess.
I haven't found much I'm into in the way of books.
But one thing I appreciate a lot is modern Western Animation and its ability to tell complex, emotional stories with fun and whimsical characters who manage to be surprisingly deep.
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Steven Universe, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Infinity Train, Bee and Puppycat. Not to mention a lot of animated movies like Inside Out, Soul, The Mitchells ve The Machines, and Frozen. (I also just realized that my host likes Anna better than Elsa... now I want to do a rewatch this winter and then argue about who the best character is! 😁)
And of course, there's The Owl House, which I've insisted on fronting to watch every episode of!
Speaking of which, Eda turned out to be a surprisingly solid system rep! Sure, the Owl Beast starts off as aggressive and dangerous, but Eda learns to build communication with it, and they ultimately learn to co-exist as a team. And they have an inner world to boot!
Host: for myself, any story needs good characters, obviously, but I read to be taken away to another place and so the author can convince me it's real. This is why I love so much of Brandon Sanderson's works. No one does a better job at building complex, intertwined worlds and magic systems.
Worldbuilding is also why I prefer animated fantasy series over live-action. Unless your live-action property is based on books that had consistent worldbuilding already, expect the worldbuilding in most live-action shows to be shit with rare exceptions.
Did anyone here watch Once Upon A Time? It was a show that would establish new rules for how magic worked every episode, and then break those rules a few episodes later. For every rule, there was an equal and contradictory rule. It wasn’t that the writers made exceptions to the rules either. They just seemingly refused to read the scripts other people wrote, and didn't care if there was any consistency. This is true of most live-action magic systems.
The only fantasy shows that respect their audiences are animated, based on other properties, or Motherland: Fort Salem. That last one came as a complete shock because Freeform. The show itself isn't that great, but the world building is incredible and you can tell they put a lot of heart into it.
Back to books... The Discworld books are fantastic. I liked the first Shannara books I read, but then realized several into it that Brooks was just retelling slightly different versions of the same story over and over again in a stagnant world.
As a kid, I loved the Percy Jackson series and related book series like The Kane Chronicles. TKC is the only series I have read that was written from a 1st person perspective while alternating between multiple viewpoint characters, which is an interesting concept enough on a technical level for me to give it my seal of approval.
And Soph mentioned that I read The Hunger Games but what she didn't mention is that I knew the author before she was famous, from a little-known series called Gregor The Overlander. Both of these stories are great at giving you the classic narrative of the child forced to become a kid hero... and then pulling the rug out from under you at the end, telling the audience, "now these child soldiers are traumatized for life, don't you feel bad for cheering this on, you sick fuck?"
(Steven Universe did this pretty well too.)
And I unironically think that's fantastic. The Hunger Games is a criticism of humanity drawing pleasure from watching violence while you're doing just that. The villain in The Hunger Games was never President Snow, but a society that watches children hurt each other for sport. You, the reader, who was drawn to this story by the idea of seeing kids forced to kill each other, are the villain of the story.
The Hunger Games isn't the type of thing I normally read but I'm very glad that I did.

Voice Ideas for Amy Rose
Its finally here!! Here are the top five voice ideas for Amy Rose for the third Sonic film. I swear i will freak the FREaK OUT if she doesn’t come and she has to come! She helps Shadow become a hero at the end!! But anyway, here are my ideas for who should take on the role of our favorite pink hedgehog heroine!!
1) Cristina Vee-
She plays Ladybug, also as Marinette and she has provided a lot of vos for anime games. Also, its impressive how she can change from Shantae to Verosika Mayday!!! She’s also an amazing drummer and singer so if she gets a song, her and Ben Schwartz will sing off the charts.
2) Anna Kendrick-
Amy is a fun character because her primary traits are set, but the sliders of her personality are always in flux. Kendrick is a gifted performer who could bring out both her empathetic team therapist side and her unhinged aggressive side. And this would be the second pink character for her to play.
3) Karen Fukuhara-
Starring in The Boys, and first being noticed of her star power in Suicide Squad as Katana, Fukuhara is another perfect choice for Amy. From voicing Glimmer in She Ra and the title character in Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, she has portrayed characters with bubbly and giggly
4) Alison Brie-
Her role as Annie Edison in Community was as hilarious as it was powerful, commanding a very complex character and standing out amongst many great performers. Her performance in GLOW was a dynamic lead that sold real pathos throughout the show. She is an accomplished comedic actor, and her natural charm makes her a fantastic choice for the role of Amy Rose. Also, Unikitty.
5) Lacey Chabert-
Best known for Gretchen Weiners and Eliza Thornberry. But if y’all remember the infamous game Sonic 06, you’ll know she voiced Princess Elise. If would be a great comeback for her to be in the Sonic Movie Universe and return to the Sonic franchise.
This is all for now

I never watched adventure time because it never appealed to me. Something about the art style is... Gross?? Idk how to describe it man but i don't think looking at animated butt cheeks is fun?? Idk stuff like that. So i never put the effort in to find the episodes, not like i did with su. And even a friend had to convince me to stick with su until the plot came. Now i can watch AT easily and I've heard plenty of good things about it but *shrug*
There are other recent cartoons i never finished. Kipo was one. Idk man I couldn't stand another high energy protagonist and it just wasn't... Compelling?? Like if wolf had been the main character maybe i would have been more interested. Maybe it was genre too. Idk, the giant monsters just didn't grab me. I fast forwarded and was just like "monster hybrids? Great..." I really don't know! Also afterward was there some kind of hubub in the fandom where they were excited to have a Black Asian protag and the creator went "lol no not Asian just test tube" and the fandom went ????? Lol idk I wasn't there
The other one i couldn't finish was centaur world. My mutuals raved about it but like adventure time something about the animation was off putting. I also. Really didn't care for the songs. Like. Every time there was a song the story came to a screeching halt. Hhhhhhhhh. Id blame adhd but i enjoy musicals generally?? From the YouTube analyses i watched, season 2 had a ton of loose ends anyway
I also tried to watch dead end, but my anxiety said "haha nope" >:( so that didn't even get a chance
Infinity train was ok, watched the first 2 seasons and then got tired keeping up with it and just figured I'd watch it once it was streaming and then you know what happened. It's not streaming no more lmao. I'd yo ho but man the amount of work it takes to yo ho when i can easily watch a bunch of other cartoons i also haven't seen on my streaming service? Yeah. Rip infinity train.

So on Sunday night, we took up all of the water and cat food in the house because Squeaktoy Sassafras Silky-Shorts, the runt of Parker Peridot's litter and the only surviving female kitten (I still miss you, my little Kipo Pixie-Paws) had an appointment to finally get spayed on Monday morning. The other cats apparently took this to be a declaration of war, because during the night one of them knocked my laptop to the floor, destroying the hard drive in the process. I didn't have time to deal with it yesterday, because the closest low-cost spay/neuter clinic is in Mobile, AL, which is more than an hour away from my house, and my mom and I decided to just spend the day there rather than make two full round-trips. We didn't think Squeaky would be ready to go home until 4:30, but luckily she ended up being released at 1:30 (and is doing great, by the way).
Even so, we didn't get home until after 3, and by that time both mom and I were so tired that we basically just collapsed. We did get the laptop to the repair shop this morning, though, and although my hard drive is completely destroyed and they weren't able to recover* anything from it, they were at least able to replace it and repair some of the other issues. I'm going to pick it up in the morning and I plan to wait until I see how much of my irreplaceable data was backed up on the Cloud before I decide just how big my mental breakdown needs to be.
Anyway, I really hate 2022.
*There is a process they can try to recover my data, but it would take 6-8 weeks and cost at least $1,050. Because of course it would.

Crossover Idea
Had a thought for a Kipo/Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy au. Like Kipo's friends, there's a group of mutes and humans, only instead of just Las Vistas, they journey all over the globe in a tricked out zeppelin. This 'crew' came together out of a mutual curiosity of what exactly caused human civilization to collapse, as none of them believe that animals suddenly gaining sentience was the only reason for nations falling. They want to find the source or ground zero of the apocalypse, and the search leads to escapades that range from existential to downright absurd. Guiding them is a book written by an unknown author, detailing the history and culture of all the animal and burrow societies across the planet, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Surface.
I also wrote an example excerpt to get this discussion going, as can be seen below:
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Surface, is a wholly remarkable book. Perhaps the most remarkable, certainly the most successful book, ever to come out of the great publishing houses of Owlbania. More popular than The Burrow Homecare Omnibus, better selling than 53 More Things To Do In Crumbling Ruins, and more controversial than Ragnar Badgerson's trilogy of philosophical blockbusters, Where Humans Went Wrong, Some More Of Humanity's Greatest Mistakes, and What Are Humans Anyway. It's already supplanted The Encyclopedia Terranica, as the standard repository of all knowledge and wisdom for two important reasons. First: It's slightly cheaper, and Second: It has the words, "Don't Panic", printed in large, friendly letters on it's cover. -The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Surface excerpt
(I originally posted this on Spacebattles, but no one was interested in discussing it. Thought it might garner more favor here.)

Interesting. And I’m very glad you’re doing okay. I haven’t seen the new Puss in Boots movie but I’ve heard it’s VERY good and surprisingly profound in places. Plus the main villain is basically Death himself in the form of a Brazilian wolf. I plan on seeing it as soon as I can. Dreamworks have been doing pretty well so far, first with The Bad Guys (which I think you’ll LOVE) and now Puss in Boots 2. I’m glad we’re both doing okay anyway.
It definitely is, yeah! As I said yesterday, I loved the themes, plus the way it kinda builds on Puss to make him a less arrogant and more compelling character is great and Perrito and the Three Bears are probably some of my new favourite Shrek characters. I still need to see The Bad Guys but I've heard good things, and thinking about it between those, She-Ra and Kipo they definitely are!

Amphibia's folly and the stereotypical archives [Part 4]
Continued from part 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, to get out of the archives, they break down a wall, destroying a part of the structure. Sprig crawls through the pipes, arriving in the nearby town, and then runs back, saving Anne. While she is glad to be saved, Anne is angry, noting that the trip out of the valley is how she will get home, saying that they can't mess it up. However, when attempting to save her, he and Anne fall back inside, trapped there. Hilariously, Anne says they are ok because they landed on books, with Sprig adding that "knowledge hurts," reminding me of Finn hitting Jake with a book in one of the episodes of Adventure Time. That's it for the episode. It was more positive than I thought. But it does traffic in some stereotypes about archives.
Reprinted from my Wading Through the Cultural Stacks WordPress blog. Originally posted on July 30, 2020.
Perhaps, we should take Schmuland's recommendation that archivists should start "popularizing their own images of the profession to replace inaccurate or negative images," but also must educate themselves on the stereotypes, then "clearly define how reality differs from the stereotype." [6] I believe my friend fulfilled this in some of their fictional writings, like a recent story entitled "The Universe Runs Through It: Cheering Gargantians, Snotty Peridots, Calm Etherians, and a Perplexed Kipo." It features some great scenes within an archives, especially one where characters watch an oral history interview of another character, and a chief archivist. I am proud of my friend for having such characters and centering archives within their story.
One may ask if the archives in Amphibia is truly an archives. If we define an archives as an institution or organization, whether physical or online, which preserves first-hand documentary heritage (deemed to not only be inactive, irreplaceable, and unique but have permanent or long-term value) or long-term memory of a particular group, whether a business, government, or otherwise non-governmental organizational, or an individual, then this would be more of a repository. Although perhaps you could go to the archive in Amphibia to gather first-hand data, facts, and evidence about the past from various records. The fact that there is no archivist is, again, unfortunate. This is because archivists work to help users find the information they are working for, run the archive, care for, and control records. Such records are not seen as the truth but only a contemporaneous record from a specific organization or individual, with the archives having the authenticity, reliability, integrity, and usability in order to be a trusted resource by society. The latter is the case in this instance.
The Society of American Archivists (SAA) defines a library as a "collection of published materials, including books, magazines, sound and video recordings, and other formats." This archives would fulfill that. However, it is more accurately a "place where things can be stored and maintained; a storehouse," the SAA's definition of a repository. Their definition also notes that this can refer to "any type of organization that holds documents...including manuscripts, photographs, moving image and sound materials, and their electronic equivalents." The fact that these materials seem to have enduring value leans toward this being an archives, so I'm going to stand by that in this case. Although, it is not known if this archives is organized "using the principles of provenance, original order, and collective control" and it appears that all the records are permanent. Even so, we can say with complete certainty that this is not a records center.

ASKS ARE OPEN
Hi !
I'm The Blue Thude and I want to contribute to my various fandoms in some way. That's why I'm happy to say I'm open to requests, in French or in English !
- First and before anything. Respect is a primordial rule of mine. Respect me and I’ll respect you, it’s a two way street.
- Do not spam. While it's okay to ask where I am on your request or question if the ask wasn't drowned with the other asks, do not spam. Any spam will result in a cancellation of your ask.
- Do not ask anything discriminatory toward any community. Those requests will be ignored or deleted without a question.
- I won't write NSFW content. I don't want to trigger myself nor those who'll read.
- I won't write anything related or about toxic relationships/characters (it can be lightly mentioned but for yandere!characters, I will kindly ask you to go to someone else).
- I won't write anything romantic with kids too young (in case of love between two kids/teens) or a kid with an adult (the age ref is 18 years old)
- While I like angst, I have troubles writing it so please, do not ask for something too angsty as I want to enjoy my time here and not add more stuff to be depressed about
- To not overwhelm me, I'll take a maximum of 20 writing requests, as for random questions, there's no limit, but try to not ask too much. My inbox will be always open, but not the writing requests.
- Do not degrade my work in any way, shape or form. Even if you don’t like what I’m writing, just calmly and politely say what you dislike about it and maybe it’ll be a fun and constructive conversation to have ! But of course, if you don’t like my work, don’t read it.
- Be patient with me, as English is my third language and I often make mistakes with orthograph or grammar when writing. If so, just tell me, I’ll correct it and do better next time !
I don't have anything else in my mind to add, but otherwise, feel free to write/ask me about anything, requests or questions ! Please remember that’s my first blog and while I got help to do it, it’s normal if there’s some strange things or mistakes in its conception. Like everything, it’ll get better overtime !
Anyway, here are the works I can write on :
ANIME/MANGA : Assassination Classroom Blue Exorcist Blue Period Dead Mount Death Play deep sea aquarium MagMell Edens Zero Heart Gear I am Sherlock Im : Great Priest Imhotep Kemono Incidents Lonely World Mashle Rising of the Shield Hero Shy Skull Dragon’s precious daughter Spy x Family Terrarium That Time I got reincarnated as a slime/Tensura (+ The Ways of the Monster Nation) The Apothecary Diaries The Cave King The Elf and the Hunter Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun Why nobody remembers my world
