In honor of Batman Day what are some of your favorite Batman moments🦇

Answering this belatedly but some of them for me are

World's Finest

Never did my little child brain ever stop to think "What if they crossed over?" because things like that just didn't seem like an option and now here we are in a world where people do nothing but crossover. One could argue perhaps a little too much in the genre these days but this moment is always going to be a special one.

The "Faith" scene from Zack Snyder's Justice League

I always loved how this moment was in a way the culmination of Batman's arc in regaining his hope for people and for the world after the events of Batman V Superman. Going from having no faith left of his own to believing Superman will show up for them in the world's time of need. A habitual cynic finally stopping to believe in something will always be beautiful to me. People were robbed of a true Batman/Bruce run with Affleck and there's a lot of them that will never know it. However, this also leads into a another favorite moment of mine.

Bruce realizing he could be more than just "Vengeance" in The Batman.

Part of me wants to refer to The Batman as a masterpiece in it's storytelling but I feel like in this day and age that word has been thrown around so much to the point where it undersells and simplifies what that movie did. I loved what this movie did with the character and as much as I wanted to forever stay mad that Affleck never got his fair shot Pattinson came in and played the hell out of the role. It was visceral and vulnerable which was exactly what this movie needed. You could feel and see this Batman growing before your very eyes and to see that growth leading all the way to this scene felt special.

Terry VS Joker

Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker really was one of those movies that felt like all roads always led to it. With the series Terry proved night in and night out that he more than earned the mantle of Batman but this film felt like the final graduation test. To say he passed that test would be an understatement. Terry had this man out here about to start rage crying. He Joker'd Joker and fucked up his whole night. I'm never going to stop saying that the world needs more Batman Beyond.

The whole I Can't Stop Laughing musical number from Batman: Arkham Knight.

Honestly it was kind of hard to not just say the entire game. I really liked the "Joker in Batman's head" aspect of it that made everything feel like a fucked up buddy cop adventure. As someone who played Arkahm Asylum and Arkham City I think this was my favorite play experience of the 3 personally. I was immersed and legit did not stop playing it until I finished the story.

Batman Arkham VR

The Batman Arkham games are some of my favorite games of all time. I have played every single one of them to death and enjoyed all of them and yes that includes Arkham Knight (even if it is buggy as hell.). That being said I was extremely excited to play Batman Arkham VR so as soon as I could I dropped the £15.99, waited for it to install then promptly didn't play it for a few months. Oh but when I did I sure was disappointed. This game took me a grand total of 45 minutes to beat!! but first, we will talk about the good stuff. The game looks spectacular I will say looking around the Batcave in VR is one of the best things and most surreal I have ever done everything looks just as dark, dingy and wet as you think it should and putting the suit on is just insane you even have to fill your own utility belt which is the way the game teaches you how to use all the gadgets you have at your disposal even if one of them is mainly just your way of getting around. Hell even just having a model viewer is cool to see all the characters you have seen across some of the games as if they are standing right in front of you is crazy but this is where the good seems to end. One of the things that the Arkham games are known best for is the free flow combat system. Arkham Asylum brought about a combat system that's so good it has been copied in hundreds of action games since and for good reason it feels great to do! It makes every fight seem like a game in itself when you have to press the button at the right time to do extra damage or throw a guy across the room for crowd control making every fight worth it and exciting. However, Batman Arkham VR has no combat what so ever and is either puzzle solving or cutscenes don't get me wrong this isn't too big of an issue but the game is so short and none of the puzzles even made me think they are all either watch the thing, get the thing or press a button! This game barely even has any stealth sections which were another huge part of the games. The predator sections in all the other games are some of the most tense parts of the game sneaking from every vantage point or crawling around in air vents waiting to pick off armed guards one by one so the hostage or yourself don't die just feels good you feel like a superhero, you feel like Batman!! But here from what I can remember there is one, I won't say what happens in case any of you do want to play this game but what I will say is it's over before it starts. the only thing I would say truly is amazing is the ending, obviously, I won't tell you what it is but that's where the game really shines and it honestly did scare the life out of me. Batman Arkham VR had so much promise and so so so much potential but it fell flat on its face at almost every hurdle. I don't think I can recommend this game at least not at full price, if you manage to find it for a couple of pounds then sure pick it up but don't expect a lot.
