For school, I spend a lot of time animating and modeling and all that jazz in a computer lab. So I constantly need shows that intrigue me, but don’t intrigue me enough that I want to stop working and actively pay attention. It’s ideal if it’s a long show (so I don’t have to keep finding new ones) and the longer the episode the better.

So anyway I’m sorry to announce that I’m knees deep in the Arrowverse in the year of our lord 2023. I’m watching the seasons in “release order” but the flash and arrow always spoil each other. And the crossovers make no sense when I’m not watching them air together weekly. But it fulfills a need

ik i critique and nitpick a lot but i do genuinely believe so much of the arrowverse is good. some bits are perfect, even. i think one of the big issues of having a tv universe as big and as generally low-budget as the arrowverse is that it's going to be inconsistent by nature, just from the sheer amount of people behind it. but that doesn't mean we're being unreasonable to expect a certain degree of understanding for a character's core traits, what makes a dynamic work, the development throughout the seasons and the real theme of the over-aching story. some people will have respect for the story they're trying to tell, and some people won't even be trying to tell the same story, so that's where the disconnect comes from, i think. but it's also just common courtesy to expect that the ones getting paid to tell a story know what the story is about, y'know?

Maybe I’m in denial over the whole Landon melting thing, but I was just thinking... instead of Landon’s body literally dissolving, what if that was just a cruel and dramatic way of showing Landon’s body being sucked into a portal, which was created inside his body from Malivore mud inside him? That would make more sense imo. I still don’t know what we’re supposed to believe about the whole situation since the writers never made anything clear, but I’d always figured the mud from the Malivore pit in the crypt went inside Landon. I have a headcanon that, once Malivore was out of Landon’s body after they were all sent to the prison world, he obviously wanted to get Landon back to possess him again. And could sense when both Landon and Hope went into the pit in the prison world. He obviously wanted to spit Hope out while keeping Landon in his dimension at the same time. But because of how tightly Hope and Landon were holding onto each other, he failed in separating them. All he managed to do was get some of his mud inside Landon (from the pit on the other side in the real world) in an attempt to try to pull Landon back into his dimension. And it was that mud that reacted to Hope’s blood, turning into a portal while still inside Landon’s body, and disappearing (with Landon) much like the portal in 1x16 did. I think that mud becoming a portal inside Landon and Landon being pulled into it would make much more sense than Landon’s body literally melting. Or if not that, then Landon’s body just reacted with the Malivore mud inside him when Hope’s blood was affecting it, if the mud was compatible with his body and bound itself to him since he was the vessel or something idk. I just will never believe that Landon’s body melted into mud, because it’s completely ridiculous and he was never made of mud, his body was like a human’s.

And I’ll also never believe that Hope was ever really toxic to Landon. I think it would make sense if Hope was toxic to just Malilandon/any Malivore mud inside Landon, but not Landon himself (though it could still obviously affect Landon’s body like in 3x04). Because Landon being partly human and having a basically human body and not being made from Malivore mud should have been enough to make it so Hope’s blood couldn’t hurt him. Malivore wanted his vessel to not have the weaknesses he did, he wanted a vessel that wasn’t like him, so that shouldn’t have been an issue. Landon on his own should’ve been safe, but maybe Landon with Malivore/Malivore mud inside him wouldn’t be. Maybe Landon having a human body wasn’t enough to protect Malivore from Hope’s blood if he was possessing Landon. Maybe he needed his phoenix powers for that to be possible, that his powers would provide that protection. (And surely one of the reasons why Malivore made him a phoenix was for extra protection from any possible threats or loopholes.) Of course the absence of Landon’s phoenix powers took that protection away, making Malivore/Malivore mud vulnerable to Hope’s blood while inside Landon’s body, and therefore Landon as well. Which is why Hope’s blood could affect Landon with Malivore mud in him in 3x04, and ultimately with Malivore in him in 4x04. But had Landon had his phoenix powers, Hope’s blood wouldn’t have had any effect. And even if Landon came back from limbo without his phoenix powers, her blood still wouldn't have any effect on just him. There would definitely be no possibility of her blood ever hurting him again with Malivore gone and no part of him ever able to get inside Landon again. This is all just my headcanon anyway, since nothing else really makes sense to me.
