I would have quite liked to have seen that asshole beaten bloody for a bit longer but I'm glad Rain got a couple of kicks in, the bastard deserves everything he gets after kidnapping, assault and threatened disfigurement and rape.
Anyway we had a nice bit of public claiming - Sig's repeated 'oh my god, oh my god, oh my god' was gold. And I liked the post-credits confession - it hadn't even occurred to me (but then I can be a bit dense).
It's interesting because all the way through I've been thinking that Mame's soundtrack choices have been rather good only for aninstrumental of Itsy Bitsy Spider to pop up over Sky in his bit. Weird.
I'm enjoying this so much more than Mame's last - maybe because Leo and Fiat just didn't seem as compatible as Payu and Rain do. Plus 90% of their problems could have been solved by using their words - Payu and Rain have good communication and vastly superior chemistry.
SPOILER ALERT
I have a feeling that Prapai and Sky is going to be a rougher journey - I've heard that Sky's ex is a bastard along the lines of Dr Bright in TWM. *shudder*

BL Boi
BL Boi! Savior of the tsundere and bane of the faen fatal everywhere!
With the powers of cuddling, acts of service, and overprotective instincts BL Boi is here to save the day... and relationships! Speaks all possible love languages. Has a romance trope ready for every occasion. Defaults to a forehead kiss in cases of extreme emergency. Or a sponge bath. Take your pick.
Key components:
Tight white t-shirt with rolled sleeves and red top stitching, of course*
Blue engineering smock, red dotted line** on one sleeve that says - - - cut here - - -
Black pants/leggings or dark wash distressed jeans (cuffed is acceptable)
Stompy boots with red thread laces (of course)
Black utility belt
Utility belt includes but is not limited to:
grenade deployment version of those tiny white camping towels that expand in water
throwing stars shaped like gears
red thread Lasso of Destiny
unmarked water bottle
pink milk
warning stickers (or badge ribbons) that say Raikentopeni
clear umbrella (also a bulletproof shield)
a series of disguise hats that, frankly, kinda suck
BL Boi rides a moped.
In REAL LIFE, of course, BL Boi is a mild mannered university student forced to participate in freshy games against his will, who also belongs to the photography club, and regularly gets caught out in the rain.
* red top stitching and laces = reference to “red thread” trope
** “cut here” sleeve is a reference to the Chinese homosexual short story Cut Sleeve from 1740, referenced several times in Word of Honor, among others.
(This post inspired by @heretherebedork like years ago, and their post on BL inspired Ren Faire garb. I had to find my sketchbook and then remember how.)

this show will be the death of me I EVEN CRIED and i never cry !!!!! the last part of episode 10 was something i can't even begin to describe it
the pain in pat's eyes when he realises how bad of a person his father always has been and how he could have been friends with pran since his childhood if it wasn't for his father's bad decisions and selfishness is something that won't leave my mind for a very long time i can't honestly i just can't
you take away the scolarship from what is supposed to be your friend without even talk it out with her and without even needing it that much then you make your son's life a living hell since birth because you feel guilty and you want to justify a feud you started by being selfish wow what a nice man very mature of him
we hated pran's mom for all this time thinking she was the one who originated the feud when it was pat's dad all along that 4ss of a man i hate him so much he managed to be a bad friend, a bad husband and the worst of fathers all in one life nice job dude
i don't want to justify pran's mom because what she did was wrong too but come to think of it she simply wanted to protect his son from facing the same sh1t she went trough she probably was scared about pat growing up like his father considering it was indeed his father who was raising him THANK GOD pat grew up differently and pa too !!! she transferred him because when he saw them together she saw herself with pat's dad when she was younger and she tried to stop /things/ from happening little did she know pat wasn't even a bit just like his father
i also get pran's frustration towards his mom because nonetheless she raised him with hatred and sense of competition and of he is tired and at the end of the episode he still doesn't know what really happened between the parents
i'm so so happy about how all the story unfolded tho it was so original and well made i loved it so much the fact they didn't make it all about a bad relationship gone wrong the titular bad buddy is indeed that 4ass of a father pat and pa have poor things and also i'm so happy about how they're defending their love 'till the end they didn't even flinch they're protecting their love with all they have without being scared even for a second

Seems like that time of month again because Anglo fans are ranting about the use of seme and uke in series, again. In ASIAN BL!
What is it about being American that even marginalised groups will cling onto the worst 🇺🇸 values and drag them into BL fandom spaces which they feel entitled to colonise in their own image?
Its useful to know the history and meaning of these terms to avoid frustration or the word heteronormative getting thrown around in an attempt to evaluate them from an irrelevant Anglo context. Relax: uke and seme express non-normative masculine aesthetics not that one's a woman
Credit for the image of the classic ōdō, BL’s “noble road” celebrating difference and variety in masculinity, belongs to yamada_mkra on Twitter
