I just love Qian being the lil spoon. It's like Yuan is reminding him he'll love, care for, and protect him always.

Qian needs that protection. Both Lili and Yuan know that. He's always been protecting them and now it's their turn to take care of him and protect him so he can rest and take care of himself.

That's why Qian is the little spoon.

That's also why Yuan bit him.

Because Qian needs other people to look out for him and to help him take care of himself, to protect him, to hold him and to let him finally relax.

And Yuan has known that for a very long time. Only now does he get the chance to act on it, to love Qian and to make him love himself.

Backlash does not equal bullying. As consumers of their videos, we the audience are allowed to express our disappointment and tell them that their choices will make us no longer follow them. They deserve to be paid but they went about this in the worst way possible. If they had this new delayed model from the start, or at least didn't hype up this announcement like it was a positive thing, they wouldn't have had such a unified negative response. Anyone who threatened or insulted them is downright toxic and terrible but criticism and pointing out the huge flaws in their plan is not bullying them.

criticism is absolutely fine! but a giant number of the takes/ complaints that i've seen this weekend were NOT THAT - the bullies in question are the ones who turned their vitriol and anger towards anyone in the fandom who still supported them and/ or the people who downright attacked Steven for jesuschrist any number of shitty reasons that had nothing to do with the actual issue of how they sprung this on us (which was honestly not cool and could have been handled WAY better/ slower, i get it)

and tbh, if you didn't hurl insults and belittle your fellow fans then that post was not for you, but the ones who did should absolutely feel shame for how they acted over the last 48hrs (and we've already started seeing that they don't)

Not sure how many people are ready for this conversation but, also, we saw that super long post but also maybe, like, people should be somewhat logically consistent, which means we are going to drop a bit of a bombshell separately into your inbox to share at your discretion:

The traumagenic nature of DID or OSDD (-1 as that is the plurality OSDD) is never what we've been contesting for the most part, it's been the conflation of system origins to system disordered-ness.

Even if MOST endogenics do not claim to have DID or OSDD-1, if we, an endogenic system who simply were born plural and never fused, ran themselves into an abusive situation later on, there is nothing distinguishing us from a classically/stereotypically traumagenic system with DID, if we follow the theory of structural dissociation, except for the fact our subjective experience has been interpreted differently.

If purely-traumagenic systems can work towards functional multiplicity from a disordered state, we must give purely-endogenic systems the same kindness when they say "I'm an endogenic and have DID/OSDD" or "I am endogenic and have HC-DID" and learn to make that separation. We will always believe those people. What kind of people would we be if we didn't?

"Can you have DIDOSDD without trauma" is often a false question and a dogwhistle made by bigots hoping you will slip up.

"Most endogenics do not claim to have DID or OSDD" feels like a cop out made to appease bigots. Certainly not always, but, it's the same issue as above: often derived because of the false question and a dogwhistle made by bigots hoping you will slip up.

This is also very true and a very good point, and one that I didn't address in that post mostly for reasons of not wanting it to get so long that I lost the other person.

Asking some writers/artists I follow:

Is there anything in your fic/comic that you as the author know about, but won't end up in the actual story?

Hmmmm... I have a lot of little moments from the Grown Apart cast's individual upbringings that are kinda floating around in my head, but I have no idea yet if they'll make it into the comics. So, I'm not sure if those count. There are a few little canon details that I haven't figured out how to include in the comics just yet, though. Such as:

Donnie speaking in a posh English accent...but only some of the time - mostly when he's not with his family or if he's trying to impress someone. Reason being: Donnie doesn't naturally talk like Big Mama (though he may have adopted a tinge of her inflection with certain words or vowels), it's mostly something he puts on intentionally to sound more...closely related to her? It's become a habit, and he doesn't always realize when he's doing it anymore, unless the others point it out. But it disappears the moment he gets too worked-up/excited about something.

Because Mikey spent so much time looking for ways to occupy himself while Leo was off causing mischief with his friends, he has a wide range of obscure talents & skills, many of which I'll probably never end up showing in canon because they're not particularly relevant to the plot. For example: - Guitar playing - Card stacking - Cup stacking - Solving a rubix cube in under 3 minutes - Painting/writing with his toes - Ballet (beginner level, but he's working on it) - Making music with water glasses - Yo-yo tricks - Acrobatics - Silk flying - The ancient art of the Japanese tea ceremony - Crochet - Playing Chopsticks on his shell (with chopsticks)

That's all I've got off the top of my head right now. Unless you're referring to things like "ideas that were originally going to be part of the canon, but got scrapped somewhere along the way." There's a LOT of those, lol. Some of which I might still end up sharing at some point, because I illustrated a few of them early on when I was doing story beats, and I like the illustrations despite them not being accurate anymore.

Others, I don't necessarily want to expose just yet, because they might still end up getting used somewhere? Maybe in this story or maybe in a different one entirely, who knows. I like to keep "scrapped" ideas in my back pocket just in case I decide to come back to them later down the line.

type of ian or anthony content we get is their scripted persona and their interviewer persona. I'm not a member so I was really happy to see ian in the new love is blind video. but still for an iconic duo (like rhett & link, supermega) they don't post much duo content

I'm so, so craving some duo content. I think Ian and Anthony's passion lies in the sketches so that's what they are focusing on but like you said, the channel was centered around their friendship and them doing silly things so I want that at times. I would kill for just some silly Smosh is bored type nonsense!

God I love Yuan. Mad at Qian and not talking to him, but he comes down and makes sure he's not drinking or eating anything unhealthy, then he goes back upstairs to continue ignoring him. lol

Yuan loves Qian even when he's angry and that's important to both of them. Especially when you consider Qian's childhood abuse and trauma and the questionable love of his mother and how she treated him... it makes it even more important that Yuan never stops loving Qian and never stops showing him that he loves him. Because this is the love that heals them and grows with them and it is love that is there for them to help them. It's important. It matters.

Sorry to complain but I could cry! I went to three blogs in a row to read and 2 are on writing hiatus and one on tumblr hiatus 😭.

I can't understand the damage some people have done to this fandom that has some very talented writers. 😔

I hope all 3 come back and any others that may be on hiatus that I haven't seen yet.

I hate that this is the state that fandom has come to. I am genuinely devastated by all of it. I have logged back on this evening to see that two people I considered close friends have soft blocked me without a word. I am gutted.

I don’t want to add to your upset, but I am going to be taking a step back for a little while too. I’ve been on holiday with my husband for the last week, and have had two ED lapses in a span of four days due to the stress this situation has caused me. For my own safety, I need to take a break before I relapse fully. The state I’ve been in caused Max to break down into tears this evening, because of my refusal to eat. I can’t continue to do that to him. I cannot let social media ruin my life offline.

I will come back, but I need to do so when I feel mentally stable enough to do so. I owe it to the people who have stuck by me through all of this to not fill their dashes with posts and asks alluding to drama and upset.

I hope you understand. Sending you so much love, and a promise that when I return it will be with something much more positive 💕 Stay safe!

How do you think Will and Emory would/could have started talking again after their split. (During high school) also how they would have acted.

Hmm, not really sure. I haven't thought about this one. But it would have to start with honesty. Both were being stubborn, and their cold front was a battle of wills - especially on Will's side. Maybe I've got it backwards, but I think Will probably had to try a lot harder to avoid Emory than she did with him.

That being said, Emory was the only one keeping a secrets during that time. So she would have to be the one to reach out first. It could come after a bad bout with Martin, when she finally reaches out for help. I think if she took the first step, Will would jump back in wholehearted. He was never really out, after all. He wouldn't be so stupid this time, because Martin wouldn't have the material to bait him with. His anger would be in his control.

Or maybe they end up alone somehow, by accident. Will could snap first, bitter and sarcastic, hoping she feels a shred of the pain he's in. And in a moment of weakness, Emory might agree with him; confirm his suspicions. But she would emphasize that this doesn't change anything. She's still not going to leave her grandmother or give up her limited freedom, or plans for the future.

I think if at this point, in either scenario, Will gave up needing her to depend on him - to be her only "man" - he might actually become the person she can confide in. But at that time, he didn't have the maturity to know that. The more he pulled on her, the more she'd resist. If he just let her come to her to him, just by keeping that smile and patience of his, he'd get what he wanted. The more he let her take steps towards him, the closer they'd get. But that's the ideal scenario.

In actuality, Will figured out the truth at some point before he graduated and did nothing with that information. They both got to keep their pride, but their happiness, the years apart, and silence was the cost of neither reaching out.

I'm not sure how they would begin talking again, or a way for it to turn out good, though I think I would have loved more high school moments between them.
