Uri sketch! (Header art for "The Book of Life:")
Read the full chapter on Wattpad!^^
Here's a tease from where the art is from lol vv
Act 4, scene 4: The Book of Life: LUTE: You aren’t supposed to be here.  URIEL: [Play it cool!] It’s fine, why wouldn’t I be able to go to the library? LUTE: Are you here for the book or not? I don’t have time for your shit right now, kid.  URIEL: How’d you know?  LUTE: Hahah!-Did you think me sending Lilith back to Hell, immediately after Adam’s death, was for shiggles? No–your bratty baby sister fucked up the plan for the Universe with her little Hotel shtick. So now, I’m fast-tracking the ending. By now, the guard rotation has found our little friend, I’m sure Sera will know pretty soon after that… How long do you really think you have until you are the one Sera warns the children of becoming? URIEL: What’s that supposed to mean? How’d she interfere with the plan? She’s just trying to make more room in Hell!  LUTE: Sure, yeah, but it doesn’t matter. The second that little one-eyed freak killed Adam, the book must’ve changed. He wasn’t supposed to die!  URIEL: [Beat] Lute–No one wanted Adam to go out like he did.  LUTE: Shut up–You have no idea about what he wanted.  URIEL: I  know he didn’t want to die down there! And I know you don’t want him to have died, either. [LUTE looks as if she may cry. URIEL and LUTE sit together on the large staircase of the Library.] Look, I know you miss him, Lute. But–Charlie didn’t want that to happen, she’s just trying to right a wrong, y’know? And Adam, well–he can be a huge jackass, but, that’s what I’ll miss about him. He was funny, but also like–the fucking worst. LUTE: Mmm, yeah. I know what you mean. [They sit in silence as the Library’s shelves creak, a slight breeze drifts through the marble walls.] URIEL: So why didn’t you do it?  LUTE: Do what?  URIEL: What Sera told you, why didn’t you take me as a prisoner? That’s why you were here, we both know The Exorcists aren’t the most well-read. LUTE: Mm, I don’t know. But whatever the reason, I’m sure it will get me into trouble.  URIEL: Ditto.  LUTE: [Beat.] So what’s your excuse?  URIEL: Pardon?  LUTE: Why’re you still up here? You got your story, isn’t it time for you to go?  URIEL: Ah, you’re right. [He stands, cracking his knuckles, and flapping his wings awake.] Showtime.  LUTE: See you on the other side, Uri.  [URIEL salutes LUTE. Now, with personal Grimore in hand, he soars back out of the Library. LUTE watches on as URIEL flies into the distance, eventually slowing, allowing his momentum to carry him back down into the parent’s fiery ring of Hell.]

Tips for writing characters in-character for a story:
So I've heard of a few incidents and even read stories where writers make the personality of a character so OOC that it doesn't even seem like the original character anymore. And this is something that I'd like to address to new writers as a HUGE no no. Most of your readers who are familiar with the characters will be turned off by your story if you continue writing them like this (once in a while is fine and that too don't overdo it). So what can you do to stop making this mistake?
Get to know your characters well. Whenever you are watching a show, focus on thier personality traits. If need be, you can even note it down. Do they swear alot? Are they shy? Are they outspoken? Are they aggressive? etc. You get the idea. Use those traits of theirs in your writing.
If two or more of your characters are starting to sound too much like each other in a story, try focusing on what makes them different from each other. Note down their names on top, make a line in the middle of your page (something like this: |) and then write their separate traits that you pick up on under each of their respective headings.
Character sheets are also a good way to help keep your characters in-character but I've never really tried those so I honestly don't know how effective they are.
Last but not least - try reading the stories that they are in as much as you can so that you can get a general idea of how to write them from others. Sometimes you just need a different perspective. This is especially easy in fanfics, where people are writing the same characters or pairing in HUNDREDS of different fics. Again, you will come across some fics that mischaracterize a character as well but those will be few and far in between when you consider a number in hundreds or thousands. Again because most good writers know what a turn-off mischaracterization is and generally steer clear of it.

Every Writer’s First Mistakes: Part 1
You could still be making any of these
The joy of discovering your passion for writing is exhilarating, but it’s also wise to take the time and invest in self-reflection. The process has taught me so much about myself as an individual — my strengths, my weaknesses — and how best I can use each one toward their ultimate goal: bringing stories to life.
The first time I picked up my pen with a purpose, it was messy and unorganized (but I didn’t know that then). The ideas from all sorts of different experiences queued in the back of my mind and tried to make their way out at once. And in instances like this, it’s easy to get carried away when that rush of inspiration comes flooding out.
Sometimes I wish I could go back to those first moments when everything was new and exciting, but I can’t. All I can do now is look back and appreciate how much I’ve grown (I’m still learning to give myself credit where it’s due) and the obstacles I’ve overcome to become this version of myself in my craft.
The beginning of every journey is filled with mistakes and sometimes confusion. I had several guides on my journey, some of whom helped me figure many things out on time. However, I had to figure the rest out on my own.
This article represents all the things I was told or wished someone had helped me with when I first started out. They’ve helped build my character and outlook on writing and life — so hopefully, at least one of these will be able to assist you too.
1. Seeing through rose-colored glasses
The world of a budding writer (this applies to first-time writers of all ages) is exceptionally vibrant. Imagine yourself as a fledgling vampire in transition. Everything around you has been heightened by your newfound passion for words. You can’t seem to get enough of them; they’re like succulent nectar that drowns out any sense of hunger or thirst. So you write continuously to satiate this urge.
Writing is a beautiful process that can be both freeing and intoxicating, but it’s not all about putting words on paper. You have to remind yourself of this when you’re in ‘the zone’, because otherwise your writing may veer off course and end up tangled, incoherent, and overly expressive from excitement.

Prompt: Sports ~Allison
She was a good sport
If not a little short with me but how was I supposed to know
Thought I was a good sport
Telling her I couldn’t even if I couldn’t tell her why
Not very sporting
Supposed to bare the soul bear the pain everything I can’t explain
Play the game, she says
No elaboration on the rules so how am I supposed to know
So I lose
Penalized for being too blind from her too dumb to myself
I always fucking lose

A few tips from if you want to write well from my own personal experience:
Use correct grammar. I can't stress the importance of this enough. If readers can't understand your story owing to poor grammar, they WON'T like it and what is supposed to be an enjoyable reading experience for them will become a frustrating one instead.
Use vocabulary. Where you can substitute simple words for those that have the same meaning, for e.g. replacing "very afraid" with "terrified", do it. It will have a very good impact on your writing and will give the impression that your story was written by a mature and experienced writer instead of by an elementary school kid.
Break your story up into regular paragraphs. This was a mistake that I made alot in the beginning and it not only made my story difficult to read, but also gave off the impression that it's more of a college essay than a story 😂 (someone even commented that under one of my earliest fics that's how I remember it 💀).
Last but not least and this is my own VERY personal tip: Incorporate plot twists into your story and incorporate them in the most UNEXPECTED places. Keep your readers on the edge of thier seats the whole time they are reading by being throughly unpredictable and giving them the occasional twists and turns when they least expect it. I guarantee you that it will keep readers hooked to your story the whole way :P And especially if your story is already catchy enough and you leave it on a cliffhanger, they will be dying to know what happens next 😉 It's a win win on both sides - you will enjoy writing your story more and they will be fully invested as well.
