some jjk characters playing guilty gear since Johnny hype got me and I'm bored at work also happy 25th anniverasy to guilty gear!
yuji: sol badguy because he's pretty rad and kyle was too boring for him. tried to play giovanna but todo kept picking her too. falls for dp baits a lot
megumi: plays zato=1. doesn't use everything right and somehow gets filtered by asukas. not happy about the nerfs to eddie and thinks it's stupid even though he can't even leave his shikigami out either. will probably be playing testament in season 3. saw the box strategy during kof grand finals and will probably do that too
nobara: likes bridget since she's cute. doesn't understand how she's doing all this with a yo yo but doesn't think about it too much. gets hit once and immediately starts mashing. does not want to admit she can't figure out how to play i-no
sukuna: the most slimey happy chaos if that is even possible. not happy about the full screen burst changes but will probably figure it out. gets happy knowing he made someone's day worse just for playing against a happy chaos. leffen fan
gojo: figured out asuka #r on day one. a lot of people dc or one and done him. played faust before asuka because he liked the idea of fucking up people and loves when the trumpet comes out for the mindgame. his asuka vs sukuna's happy chaos is the most snooze inducing match but everyone in the lobby is also shocked seeing happy chaos get bullied. you'd think gojo would play ky, but like yuji he got bored
maki: baiken fan that actually plays baiken. will pick potemkin if she fights naoya's chipp, so he gets filtered in the most disrespectful way possible and post highlights on youtube
miwa: excited to finally play ggst because Johnny is in the game and is still grinding the most ridiculous johnny combos in xrd :)
yuki: plays giovanna because she's her type. her way of playing is very straightforward but will start to do crazy rushdown pressure and lock in if she plays against kenjaku
kashimo: the only guy that stuck with sin because he's not a quitter. doesn't complain about how the character is rn but also happy for season 3 for any buffs. that one guy that follows sukuna around in the lobby and keeps getting filtered by his happy chaos
kenjaku: has played through all the other guilty gears with i-no because they really liked i-no's character and continues to play i-no. has also picked up jack-o in strive
mahito: plays may and dolphin spams
yuta: plays kyle. only person that thinks ky is not boring on this list. yes, he picked the only one in strive's roster that is married. tries to use his dragon install because of the lore importance behind but gets punished a lot for it. makes it work, though.

So Inuyasha meets Kikyou, they become mates and have two puppies, Kochou & Asuka (yes, the shikigami from the series ;D). Tragically, an accident occurs and Inuyasha is the sole survivor. Naradog may or may not have his paws in this... 👀
Inuyasha meets Kagome and the others from the Inu-Gang and slowly she starts to thaw his frozen heart. They fall in love and there will be a happy ending. Moroha is also present! 🤭♥️

Koudelka’s proposed sequels
According to Hiroki Kikuta’s blog post, had Koudelka been financially successful there were plans for direct sequels. The following is a rough (feel free to correct me if I get anything wrong) summary:
Koudelka 2 was going to feature the Paris World Expo of 1900. Visiting the basement at the event, Koudelka would soon find herself battling lost spirits once more. Similar to what Hiroki Kikuta had done in England to study how to portray Wales, he had also gone to Paris and Belgium for the task.
Koudelka 3 would be in the United States, more specifically 1973′s Chicago. Rodmell Koudelka, grandchild of Koudelka after her daughter Amelia left for America, is a teacher of cultural anthropology at the University of Chicago. The spirits of people who died during the Vietnam war are returning, resulting in mysterious murders. Rodmell receives help resolving this situation from Roger Bacon, who is now wearing a modern-day suit (Kikuta chuckled at that).
Koudelka 4 - 1984, Nara, Japan. While visiting a religious scientist from a friend, Rodmell finds himself involved with the case of someone’s life being targeted. Ying-yang masters, shikigamis, and more are the enemies in this story, while the mysteries surrounding the Asuka stones and streets of Kyoto are explored.

クーデルカという物語

このサイトを御覧の方には僕の制作した
RPG「クーデルカ」を未プレイの向きも多いと思う。
手短に説明すると、19世紀のイギリスはウェールズの
片田舎にある今は廃墟同然と化したある修道院を舞台に、
クーデルカという19才のジプシーが出会う様々な
怪異をテーマにした、いわゆるモダンホラーと
呼ばれるジャンルに属するゲームである。
僕はこの作品のコンセプトに始まり、キャラクター設計、
マップ構成、シナリオ、ムービーや
モーションキャプチャーイベント部分の
ディレクション等など、様々な種類の仕事をした。
基本的な部分の組み立てには約3ヶ月ほど要しただろうか。
全部で100冊以上の本に眼を通したが、
物語の発想の土台となったのは、
「幽霊狩人カーナッキ」という本であった。
短編集で、主人公である怪奇現象研究家カーナッキが、
様々な「怪異」と「怪異に見えるもの」に遭遇し、
あるものは解決し、あるものは良く分からないまま
終わる（笑）という、味わいのあるホラー小説集だ。
興味のある方は是非一読されたい。
さて、僕が物語を組み上げる段階でこだわるところは、
歴史上の事実を曲げないということである。
実際に起こったとして、記録に残っている様々な事件を、
相互に関連付け、その隙間を虚構で埋めていくという
やりかたが僕は大好きだ。
同じ嘘をつくのでも、まったく根拠も無く考えるのと、
事実に基づいてその基盤を組み上げていくのとでは、
細かい部分でのリアリティーが違ってくる。
だから、クーデルカという物語には、
プレーヤー諸氏が考えているよりも、
ずっと多くの史実が含まれている。
エドワードやロジャーが実在の人物である事など、
歴史に興味のある方は、調べてみられるの��一興かと思う。
1898年は科学と迷信がせめぎあう世紀末の、
まさに移り変わる一瞬を捉えて興味深い時代である。
明ければすぐに1900年、近代科学文明の浸透の
象徴ともいうべき、パリ万博が開催される。
そしてそれこそが、僕がクーデルカの続編と
目論んでいた物語の舞台なのである。
ウェールズを描くために、ロンドンやペンブロークに
足を運んだのと同じように、僕はパリやベルギーに
取材をするつもりだった。
（パリ万博に出展されていた建物が、当時の
ベルギー王の要望で買い取られ、
ブリュッセルに現存するのだそうだ）
会場から郊外を結んで建設された地下鉄と、
そこで起こる怪異。エースネクスト誌連載中の
漫画版のエピソードを終えたクーデルカが、
拠ん所ない事情でパリを訪れ、地下に巣喰う
亡霊どもの争いに巻き込まれていく。
実はクーデルカの続編は、僕の頭の中では4作目まで
出来ている。第一部イギリス、第二部フランス・・・
とくれば、第三部はアメリカである。
時代は大きく跳んで、1973年アメリカはシカゴ。
主人公は、シカゴ大学で教鞭を取る文化人類学者、
クーデルカ・ロードメル。
クーデルカの娘アメリアが後に渡米して産んだ子供で、
つまりは孫だ。ベトナム戦争末期とあって、
帰還兵が持ち帰ってしまった悪霊が、
様々な殺人事件を引き起こすのを、まだ生きている
ロジャーの助けを借りて解きあかしていく。
（ちなみにロジャーはスーツを着て出てくる）（笑）
そして第四部は1984年奈良。
関西大学で教える友人の宗教学者の元を訪れたクーデルカは
何者かに命を狙われ、陰陽師や式神と戦う羽目になる。
奈良の巨石墳墓や京都の町並みが、
雰囲気造りに一役買うだろう。
残念なことに、今のところ僕がそれらの
続編を作る予定はないが、
小説のようなものであれば、書いてもいいかなあと思う

I have thoughts...
That in a right universe setting maybe somehow Kikyo’s powers to commune with Shikigami could have been an indirect result of her dealings with Kururugi?
Maybe these were spirits from the Kururugi family shrine that decided to follow her on adventures after witnessing her aid Kururugi, or maybe they were spirits left behind by Kakuju and Utsugi that went to her as a means of retaining purpose...
Obs, Kikyo is a spiritual powerhouse, but her Shikigami skills were never really explored until later in the series, and closer to when she was nearly destroyed the first time. They were shown to have brought her back from the brink, so I don’t think it’d be particularly too off the mark to say maybe they were accompanying her before she began her trip to Mt. Hakurei, which would account for the general timeline where SotCM is a concern?
In any case, Asuka and Kocho would definitely be a topic of interest for Michiru, if we ever got to interact with a Kikyo muse...

1. What is the biggest headcanon deviation from the canon material that you have incorporated into the way you write your muse? Why did you come up with it?
Probably the incubus thing. I think most writers in this fandom have gone a far more humanized route with Tsuzuki save for what’s explicitly stated in canon – and most people leave it open to interpretation or vague enough that it doesn’t matter. I put a lot of focus on Tsuzuki’s biology and the non-human DNA and how that affects his interactions with other people. I took a very Watsonian approach to canon this way. Where I saw inconsistencies or maybe a weirdly specific focus on Tsuzuki’s looks (ever notice how like EVERYONE is in love with him????), I took the weird kinda Mary Sue ish aspects and molded them to make sense. I gave him a reason for all of the unwanted sexual attention he gets instead of just writing it off as a gross comedy trope. I like to think it’s working well for me, but I don’t get a ton of feedback so I’m not actually sure if other people like it or not – but it makes me feel better, so :P
3. What is something that was never addressed at all in the canon material that you have independently developed for your muse?
His first partner. Tsuzuki died in the mid-1920s, it’s been said he’s the oldest person at the office except the Chief, so naturally he would have had different friends and partners back then. I came up with an entire plot surrounding his very first partnership when he was still a rookie, a romance between them, and a reason it disintegrated. I also used it as a way to highlight Tsuzuki’s fear of abandonment, since his partner was the first to abandon him by choice. Tsuzuki’s long string of failed partnerships began here, in my portrayal – while in canon, we only know of four of his partners (Hisoka, Tatsumi, “Asuka” who only lasted a chapter, and Kobayashi who was only mentioned in a one-off line).
4. Have you made any outright changes to the canon material in order to write your muse the way you wanted (entire scenes you chose to omit, chapters you say never existed, things you assume were never said, etc.)?
The implied inc*st between him and Ruka is completely gone, but other than that, I can’t think of anything. I guess I ignore most of the Gensoukai arc but that’s mostly because I don’t understand it rather than actively disliking it. (I’m not a fan at all of the humanized shikigami, but I think I could get used to it if I understood wtf was going on in that storyline lmfao.) I’m sure there are some lines that I’ve completely written off as being too out of character, but I can’t think of any in particular right now. I’m more in the habit of bending canon to make sense than discarding it entirely.
14. What is your ideal AU for your muse?
My favorite AU is the security detail universe that @ask-secretary-tatsumi started as sort of a fluffy fun art project and I took it to like level fifty LMAO. It’s fun because I can take aspects of Tsuzuki’s character that are deeply important to him – the suicide, the feeling of ‘otherness’ and like he doesn’t belong/isn’t supposed to exist – and tweak it so that it suits a modern day, non-fantasy setting. For instance, in any humanized verse, he’s a trans man, which keeps his feeling of not belonging with “””normal””” people (his perspective) but removes all magic and supernatural elements from the trait. Instead of the weird 8-year hospitalization, I’ve had Tsuzuki just in and out of hospitals constantly for repeated failed attempts at suicide.
It’s also my favorite AU because I can keep Ruka alive with the help of modern medicine! So even before he meets Hisoka, he doesn’t have to be completely alone in the world.
15. What plots/interactions leave you feeling protective of your muse?
Uhhhhh all of them tbh, but especially any thread involving Kyoto recovery. My entire verse with @monstricidal is also painful as hell and makes me want to hold him lmao.

Manga the Week of 5/15/19
SEAN: This is… a relatively light week, at least compared to the rest of May.
Dark Horse has the 3rd Gantz Omnibus.
J-Novel Club has another debut, with The Greatest Magicmaster’s Retirement Plan. A teen prodigy retires from the military, but is still the greatest magician in the land, so winds up teaching his gorgeous young successors at a magic school. I’m getting Bastard Magical Instructor vibes here.
They also have Amagi Brilliant Park 5 and In Another World with My Smartphone 14.
Kodansha has, believe it or not, no debuts. They have Sailor Moon Eternal Edition 4 (which has been on this list before, it keeps getting delayed) and The Seven Deadly Sins 32 in print.
And in digital, we have Kira-kun Today 7, Love Massage: Melting Beauty Treatment 3, Ran the Peerless Beauty 3, and Tokyo Revengers 7. Definitely getting more Ran.
MICHELLE: Me, too!
SEAN: Seven Seas debuts the Sorcerous Stabber Orphen manga, based on the recently licensed light novels. No, this isn’t the manga ADV put out eons ago. It’s a 2016 version that runs in Famitsu Comic Clear.
They’ve also got Classroom of the Elite’s 2nd novel digitally, How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord’s 4th manga volume, Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka 6, and the 5th Toradora! novel.
Sol Press has a 3rd volume of Battle Divas, reassuring readers it will not be a full year between each book.
SuBLime has a debut with Love in Limbo, about an ex-soldier who’s not a shikigami in limbo. It runs in Frontier Works’ Daria, which may be the most unintentionally hilarious title for a BL magazine I’ve ever seen.
And there’s also Vol. 7 of A Strange and Mystifying Story.
MICHELLE: It’s also the final volume.
ASH: I’m still happy that the license for this series was rescued, though I am a couple volumes behind in my reading.
SEAN: Vertical has a 2nd manga volume of Kino’s Journey.

MICHELLE: I’m definitely reading this one.
SEAN: Viz has no debuts, but who cares, because Requiem of the Rose King 10, baby. There’s also the 5th Fullmetal Edition of Fullmetal Alchemist, Radiant 5, Record of Grancest War 3, and YO-KAI WATCH 11, whose title doesn’t know not to use all caps.
MELINDA: REQUIEM OF THE ROSE KING FOREVER because I apparently also have an all caps problem. Also, totally into any edition of Fullmetal Alchemist, anytime, so there’s that.
MICHELLE: I haven’t read volume nine yet so now I get to have a fun little mini-marathon.
ANNA: Me too, it is such a great series!
ASH: I’m always happy to see more Requiem of the Rose King!
