Calvin appeared in Sunday's Hi and Lois strip:
So now we have two possibilities:
Calvin and Hobbes shares a universe with Hi and Lois, and as such, with Beetle Bailey as well
The Hi and Lois/Beetle Bailey universe exists in Calvin's imagination, St. Elsewhere-style, because as we all know, Calvin has no human friends except maybe Susie

A thing that calls my attention is this: When people talk of comic book fans, its usually thinking that comic book is a genre, and they automatically think of super hero fans.
Like this:
When comic books are a medium that can tell stories for several genres, including superheros.
And for me, when i tell i am a comic book fan, i am talking of this:
Reading comic books in search of cartoony, light hearted, sometimes extrange mixtures of slice of life to fantastic action adventures.
I think of characters like Little Lulu, Beetle Bailey, Scrooge McDuck !
And there are people who are fans of those comics. Who speak fondly of learning to read with them.
But for some reason, those of us who are fans of the cartoony adventure gag slice of life comics are rarely tought of when it comes to portrayals of geekdom.
Its always all resumed to the superhero genre.
And i have to ask: WHY is this?!
