Then after he steals his girlfriends Gin and downs it, he just lets loose and doesn’t give an F.

This one intrigued me. I dug deep into my '90s music playlist for inspo! And if you want to know something about my writing process, I often write with music in the background. It sometimes drives the tone and feel of what I'm writing.

But anyway, getting into this imagine!

Pairing: Soldier Boy x Female Reader Word Count: 1,000 Warnings: 18+ only - just to be safe.

Imagine: Taking a reluctant Ben to a ‘90s night at the club.

You love spending time with Ben, living together, sharing your lives and your space. You've been helping him catch up on TV shows and movies he missed, helping him adapt to the ways things have changed.

He really hates all the self-checkout screens and shit at the grocery stores now. (Like for fuck's sake, he's just trying to buy his beer and coffee creamer in peace. Everything's a touch screen nowadays.)

Even the damn McDonald's has an order screen. His hand once broke straight through one out of sheer frustration.

But anyway, when Annie invites you to check out this awesome club with her and Hughie and Frenchie and Kimiko, you're sold the moment she says "'90s theme night." However, you also know that convincing Ben is going to be a nearly insurmountable task.

"That sounds dumb as fuck," he tells you.

You frown at him, hands on your hips. "Come on, Ben. It'll be fun!"

Ben likes to have a good time. Lord knows. But you also want to look the part — dressing up for a decade he had no part in.

The '90s weren't exactly a fucking party for him. In fact, he tries harder than you know to block out that entire decade, as that's when the Russians started to get truly creative on that compound...

Sensing you're losing him to his memories, you grab his hand and stroke his cheek. "I promise, if after an hour you're still not having a good time, we'll leave."

You give him those eyes. You ply him with sweet and tantalizing kisses. And you show him what outfits you're considering. (One dark green dress in particular already has his dick twitching to attention in his pants).

So that's how Ben ends up caving. For you, and no one else. (As usual.)

For a while he just sits at the bar with you while you catch up with your friends. You're so damn excited, he can tell. The inside of the club is interesting, he supposes, with dim lighting and a DJ on the stage with a very sophisticated looking setup that Ben finds wholly unfamiliar.

The music, however, is ass so far. What the fuck is this, Hip Hop? Rap? R&B? He can't tell, and he doesn't know any of the songs. It sounds like a bunch of fucking whining. And don't get him started on whatever you call grunge.

The bottom line is, this entire thing is not his scene. It makes him feel out of place...it makes him feel old. In a way that he doesn't truly feel all that often, even when he's with you. So he really wants to fucking leave. But he doesn't.

He just downs his entire whiskey and then another. He sees you're still nursing a gin & tonic beside him while you watch your friends head out onto the dance floor. Hughie, that moron, actually seems to have some moves as he shakes his ass around his blonde girlfriend. Ben rolls his eyes and shakes his head.

"Poison" by Bell Biv DeVoe comes on, and you light the hell up. You're smiling and bopping to the music.

And you look beautiful tonight. The short, dark green dress is eye-catching even under the dim lights. Your hair is wrapped in a tight but messy bun. You've got some tall black boots on and a black velvet choker around your neck. You're adorable and sexy all at once.

Ben can tell you want to join your friends on the dance floor, but you're nothing if not loyal. You did promise to stay with him. And you give him a flirtatious, teasing smile, bumping your shoulder with his.

"How're you doin', babe?" you ask.

"Fine," Ben replies, with his usual stoic front. Your mouth quirks. But when "No Diggity" by Blackstreet comes on, not only are you excited, but you also get an idea.

You slowly slide out of your seat and move in time with the beat, just vibing, dancing near your boyfriend.

You give him a little show, twirling under his hand, brushing against his side and letting your fingertips slide against his neck, down his thigh. Your touch makes small zings of sensation run through Ben's body, teasing, arousing. You know exactly what you're doing.

"Shorty get down, good Lord. Baby got 'em open all over town. Strictly biz, she don't play around. Cover much grounds, got game by the pound…"

Ben watches you with rapt attention. The smooth, sensuous way your hips move to the beat. You remove the pin from your hair and shake it out in front of him, then beckon him with a hand.

"Come on. Come dance with me."

You continue to roll your hips nice and slow. Teasing him with the curve of your ass, as well as your smile.

"She's got class and style. Street knowledge by the pound. Baby never act wild, very low key on the profile..."

Ben finally realizes that you don't see him as "the old man in the club." You invited him because you want him with you.

And what, is he afraid or something? Like he cares about what the rest of these damn pantywaists think of him.

Fuck it. He takes your gin & tonic from the bar counter and downs it all, a nice burn down his throat. Then he reaches out for your hand and firmly takes it.

You lead him onto the dance floor, where you guide his hands onto your hips and he draws in behind you. You reach back, your hand gliding up the back of his neck and into his hair.

"You're blowing my mind, maybe in time. Baby, I can get you in my ride..."

Ben knows how to dance, but this is different from what he's used to. So he follows your lead at first.

"I like the way you work it. No diggity, I got to bag it up (bag it up, babe)…"

But then, he lets the smooth beat infiltrate his body and he just lets go. His feet and his hips and his hands on your body — he turns you around and pulls you in close, flush against him so he can feel every part of you where you fit just right.

Your chin tips up and your lips brush against his. "Having fun yet?"

Ben smirks. When he gets you home, he's fucking you in nothing but the boots and that little velvet choker. But for now, he's having a good time.

what if the losers did the camp councillor thing when they were teenagers... what then...

richie would be so loud about singing camp songs, everyone can always tell when his cabin is passing through because he sings so loudly. he knows camp songs no one else has ever heard of. he's always trying to get the kids to participate too, he loves the pizza man song because his campers always come up with the weirdest professions and he has to invent a verse on the spot lol

they have a themed day every week and bev has taken it upon herself to make them as wacky as possible. alice in wonderland? she's convincing the kitchen to do breakfast for dinner, dinner for breakfast. pirates? camp-wide game of capture the flag in the water with canoes. space? there are paper mache planets hanging from the dining hall ceiling and glow in the dark paint is everywhere.

ben leads survival activities and teaches all the kids how to build awesome structures, and at the end of the week theres a competition to see who can build the best one, with ben as the judge. he's at least half responsible for 99% of the structures though so he usually just defers to the other losers lol. he's like teaching these nine year old kids about complex math so they can build the weird little stick houses of their dreams

stan also leads survival activities and he loves being soooo serious with the campers and the campers take it so seriously too, he has all his boy scouts knowledge and he uses it to destroy the competition it is very funny how these little kids take it so seriously because of stan. by the end of the week its like he has an army of mini-mes.

they have two campfires with marshmallows every week and mike runs them and they have a talent show on the last day and he lets the kids "sneak" second marshmallows and he tells ghost stories that are maybe a bit scarier than they should be for a bunch of 10 year olds lol. he's so good at it too, even the other councillors are way freaked out. him and bill brainstorm for the campfires with mike contributing historical knowledge and bill helping to make it more story-like and scary

back to stan and his army of mini-mes, every week theres a capture the flag competition, and bill and stan take it way too seriously, they have a tally in the main office of whos team wins each week. stan doesn't take it as seriously as bill but he finds his little army to be one of the funniest things in the world so he always gives it his all. bill and stan are yelling out directions like drill sergeants and all the other camp leaders are just being normal about it. its great

richie always sings super loud and obnoxiously at campfires but after a summer or two of them he secretly starts to get very good at singing but still does the awful out of tune singing from the beginning

eddie is fighting for his life trying to strike a balance between not letting the kids get hurt and not being smothering it is very difficult and he keeps having to call in his friends to ask them if something is a serious injury or if he's blowing it out of proportion. they have little walkie talkies and he's like "so one of my campers just fell and twisted their ankle and its kind of puffy. do you think i should bring them to the med tent or can they walk it off?" and everyones like. DUDE WHAT THE FUCK!

richie insists on being like "roger" and "over and out" and using codenames on the walkie talkies and ben and bev and mike participate but everyone else thinks its stupid and the longer they refuse to engage the more stupid codenames richie comes up with

richie and eddie are in an ongoing prank war between their cabins. it is disastrous for everyone and everyone wants them to stop but they wont and its kind of awful but also incredibly funny

Johnny: Yeah, I don't know much about fashion, but I can work a hot glue gun like no one's business.

David: Thanks, I need all the help I can get! I have to admit, I'm a little nervous about being on TV. I hope people like me.

Johnny: Don't be so humble, Dad! The audience is going to love you!

Chantal: Yeah, they totally will!

Cece: I can't wait! When I finally see you on the screen, I’m going to scream as loud for you as you did for me!

Final thought on Tales of the Jedi (I hope):

When it comes to the retcons or the content overall... I think there's one more thing to keep in mind:

The description on Disney Plus defines these episodes as "parables".

And during the announcement of Tales of the Jedi, when Dave Filoni talked, about these episodes he apparently referred to them as "a series of tone poems".

Months ago, a member of the editorial staff tweeted that these are simplified versions of bigger stories, just like the story in junior novelizations "focus on small, more easily digestible moments rather than the whole story". He also added that:

The episode The Sith Lord is "not meant to be the entirety of that story" but rather a "brief glimpse at a couple of moments".

The last Ahsoka episode is also just a "simplified" 15-minute adaptation of the novel Ahsoka. It's not meant to be the FINAL and ONLY version of that story.

Like, these weren't made with the words "canon" or "BBY" in mind, beyond Matt Martin making sure that the chronology lined up, in Dooku's case (although now we gotta accept that Mace was a Master at, like, 24).

They're stories Dave Filoni came up with on a whim because he saw how awesome the Bad Batch looked, visually, and was like "I want me some of that!"

"I saw what Brad Dunn and Athena [Portillo] were doing in Bad Batch, and how good the show looked… I’m like “well, I wanted that in Clone Wars!” Why does it look like now—- NOW? Mine look like Atari 2600, when it started. Now, you got snow and trees and I’m like “so I’m gonna write something so I can play with those toys.” That’s how it happened!"

During the panel, he also added they're stories he wrote while he was in lockdown during COVID or flying back and forth while filming The Mandalorian.

These aren't meant to be replacements or retcons. They're not meant to be "the ultimate definitive version of how events transpired".

They're art.

They're the streaming equivalent of short films you'd see in a film festival. And they are fucking beautiful. The visuals, the colors, the fights, the emotions, the performances, the RHYMES... all of it. Just marvelous!

The only things that stopped me from giving the show a 10/10 is out-of-universe pet peeves that messed with my suspension of disbelief (like Filoni essentially cramming Ahsoka into everything he's involved in, or his blatantly biased stance on the Prequel Jedi, and his consequentially 2-dimensional depiction of them).

So, really, nothing to do with the quality of the actual episodes, themselves.

Hopefully in the next season, my boy Quinlan Vos gets some time in the spotlight with Asajj Ventress! Maybe Mace gets his own episodes, maybe Luminara and Luke & Ben Solo too?

He always watched all his fighters in his gym, but after sometime his attention soon started to come down to only one fighter…you. He watched with droopy lilac eyes from his perch in the gym as you worked hard everyday to gain the strength to fight. The need to want to become a champion fighter grew more and more each day, the fire in your eyes is what drew him to you and so one day he mentioned to Benkei that he would be the one to train you wanting to make sure that your dream became a reality. Benkei of course agreed to this especially since Wakasa was well known for his fighting the taller male admiring the legend called “White Leopard” mentioning this agreement to you as well. “Yes he would like to train you himself,” the male spoke excitedly seeing your expression of true excitement beaming in your eyes.

“That’s so awesome! I can’t wait!” Eventually your excitement ceased as you got lost in your thoughts before suddenly letting out a low groan. “—but I can’t…” of course this confused Benkei making him lean against the wall, a sigh leaving his lips. “May I ask why?” You nod and smile. “Well my friend who is in the MMA circuit is actually coming to train me.” You rubbed your neck and looked down feeling ashamed that you didn’t tell him. “Ah I see, well that’s ok! I’m sure Waka will understand. He just saw potential in you so that’s why he wanted to help, but it’s a relief that you’re getting trained by a professional.” Benkei chuckled, they were professional as your friend but they knew the skills needed to fight and that’s all that mattered.

When Benkei explained to Wakasa later that day about what you had said he nodded. “That’s fine,” it may have seemed like his normal answer, but that didn’t stop his chest from tightening when Benkei mentioned it was a guy who was helping you. ‘Guy? What guy? What the fuck did this guy have that he didn’t? How long have you known him? Were you two an item?’ All these questions ran through his mind all at once causing him to shake his head and sigh. “What the fuck…” he hissed, why did it matter? You were getting the help you needed and besides that he wasn’t attracted to you…or so he thought. The days that passed proved his point wrong, after watching you practice with this…guy…it was clear that you were into him and he was into you, but what made everything come to light for Wakasa was the fact he was…for the first time…Jealous.

“Damn Waka, if looks could kill,” Benkei let out a boisterous laugh as he shook his head and left the main area, leaving the three of you alone. It was closing time and they began to clean up of course the two of you deciding to take your leave but not before you stopped to say goodbye to Wakasa, “Waka!” You rushed up to him causing him to turn and smirk at you, little did you know the affect you had on him trying his best not to show his true emotions he gulped down the large lump in his throat and looked down. “What’s up kid?” He watched as your eyes brightened when he spoke causing a small chuckle to emit from him. “Did you see me? I’m getting better right? Soon I’ll be able to take you and Ben on.” You laughed while playfully hitting his shoulder. That small touch you offered set it off for him, he had to have you there was no objection in this matter that he was utterly entranced with you and that’s when the idea hit him causing another smirk to play across his lips as he shrugged.

“I mean maybe,” you frowned slightly and tilted your head to the sighed. “What do you mean maybe?” The way you looked right now it took every ounce of willpower in him to not fuck the shit out of you right here, right now. “W-well you know. I just feel he isn’t training you properly, that’s all. It seems he keeps going easy on you and that’s not truly bringing out your potential is it?” He cooed softly. This caused you to think about what he said humming in thought before he placed an arm over your shoulders and hummed in your ear, “That’s not fair now is it? Maybe because you are a woman and he feels you’re not ready to be in the boxing circuit yet? —but what do I know. What do you say?” He chuckled and held out his hand. “Let me train you into the top knotch fighter I know you can be…we can win…together.” You looked down at his hand before looking back up smiling. “Deal.” Excited about the opportunity, you shook his hand eagerly not truly realizing the deal you just made with the devil himself. “Bye Waka! See you tomorrow!” You called out seeing the male waving back. “Bright and early kid!” He hummed before a sinister smile grazed his lips, “That’s right little one…I’ll get you to the top, but first you gotta be mine.”

A boy in love…this is what Kazutora was from the first moment he laid eyes on you. He loved you, adored you, never in his life did he ever want anyone to be his more than you. The only thing that stopped him was…his best friend, sadly you were Baji’s sister and he couldn’t get himself to step over that line. At least that was before he heard of your boyfriend, Baji talked highly of the guy as if he was the best person for you but Kazutora couldn’t see that—refused to see that. How could anyone be better than him? It was impossible, he made sure to be the perfect figure for you despite his situation at home though it was overseen, when Kazutora brought up your boyfriend to you it was his way of confessing his love.

“I think you can find someone better, besides you never know the perfect person could be right in front of you.” He smiled softly, but he wasn’t met with a sweet response. Instead you laughed and that sound caused his chest to tighten, why were you laughing? Was it because you thought otherwise? What was the reason? As his mind flooded with questions you finally spoke. “Tora. Are you trying to tell me that YOU are better for me than him?” His throat went dry as he stared at you, even though he tried to make it sound like someone else you figured it out. “Should have known you would figure it out…you’re so smart I could never put anything past you.” He scoffed and looked down at his hands. “Actually…you made it very obvious that you liked me. I just always chose to look past it.” You shrugged.

“Tora,” you paused as if to think how you would say the next words. “—you’re a really good guy, but I don’t see you that way. We have been around each other for so long that my feelings for you have grown into something like family instead of romantically. I’m truly flattered that you like me but I know that you can find someone better, I’m sorry…” You whispered while getting up to step away and give him some space. As your footsteps faded he sat there by the river alone glaring at his reflection in the water, soon anger began to build up inside causing his suppressed voices to overtake him. ‘She’s lying. She didn't want to hurt your feelings—but she did anyways. She doesn’t want you…just like everyone else. She just tolerates you, she feels sorry for you—didn’t you see the pity in her eyes…and that pathetic apology? What the hell was that? Might as well have ripped your heart out and stomped on it just to get rid of the excess feelings. She should pay—maybe you should get rid of her boyfriend? Make her feel the same feelings you feel now—have her begging to be with you just to stop the pain—no one else will love her like you do—NO ONE! and if you can’t have her…then neither can he.’ He trembled as he held his head, “No! Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!” He choked out as he fell to his knees. Of course in the end he chose to follow this voice…and now he will have to get rid of the thing that was taking you from him.

A few days passed and there was no sign of your boyfriend, you called, texted, left voicemails, hell even went to his house but nothing. His parents listed him as a missing person with the police doing everything they could to find him all you could do was wait. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and soon a year passed, nothing turning up the police listed it as a cold case leaving you and his family to never find closure, always wondering what happened and what could have been. Along with the long hurtful days Kazutora stayed by your side comforting you whether it was bringing your favorite foods or to just take your mind off things. Soon you began to realize that he was so caring, loyal and nurturing that before you knew it—you had fallen for him.

“Tora…thank you for being here for me. I don’t know what I would have done if you weren’t here.” You sighed while laying your head on his shoulder a soft smile played across his lips as he hummed. “Of course princess. I’ll always be here for you…I’ll never leave your side—just you and me…against the world.” He smiled brightly as he kissed your forehead, snuggling up more underneath your favorite cherry blossom tree that overlooked the city with no knowledge of what lied 6ft beneath you.

hello!! I was redirected here by bronzetomatoes after inquiring about kylo ren hate (I think the hitting him with a car post is so funny and also i know so little about star wars. it adds to the comedy tbh) and i was told if i want the funny/thorough answer that you’re the place to go. so if you’d like to, go absolutely off the walls about it :)

My friend have you come to the right place.

SO BASICALLY Star Wars is a story about how 3 good movies collectively altered the course of human history by making just like, stupid amounts of money right?

So obviously, Disney was like “I need to get in on that” and bought Star Wars and then started working on their own trilogy. If you’re a Star Wars fan, this is pretty cool! New planets, new character, new lore! It was pretty awesome. The trailer for the first movie in this new trilogy came out and everyone loved it! So much interesting things!!! A female protagonist?!?!? Wow this is so awesome!!!

The problem was the movie isn’t very good.

Don’t get me wrong the force awakens is fine, definitely the best movie in the trilogy, the problem is that it wasn’t good enough, not for most audiences, and especially not for Disney. So they fired JJ Abrams, who directed the force awakens, and hired Ryan Johnson to direct the second movie: the last Jedi.

I fucking hate the last Jedi.

And so did like half the world, and what followed the release of the film was probably the worst fucking time in the history of life on earth to be a Star Wars fan, as basically the entire fanbase devolved into a civil war between last jedi haters and last jedi defenders.

But amongst all the fighting, another group was beginning to form, one that had began in the shadows of the Force Awakens, but was now bolstered by the release of the last Jedi, a shadowy and secretive threat that was about to rear it’s ugly head:

Reylo.

Now, Reylo, as a ship is like, fine? It’s literally just the most barebones enemies to lovers ship you can imagine.

But Reylo as a fanbase? That’s where things start to get interesting. Because what Reylo lacked in character and writing, it made up for in hot fucking actors (I mean it’s fucking Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver what did you expect). this in turn led to a vicious cycle where Reylo fans were extremely uh… motivated… and also had basically blank canvases to build off of. This lead to the Reylo fandom becoming almost a separate entity to the Star Wars fandom, which only further boosted their forces.

But what made Reylo infamous was the scale. These guys were loud, and were prepared to rip anyone to shreds for even the smallest injustices. It was a dog eat dog world, and one that maintained itself through a constant state of war.

But setting Reylo fans aside for a second, you may be wondering “Okay but what does any of that have to do with Kylo Ren?” Which, sure fair question. But to answer that, we have to look at Reylo not as a ship, but as characters.

Now, Rey, as far as protagonists go, is… fine? She’s definitely screwed majorly by being in a completely unplanned trilogy of movies that wasn’t interest in making her a compelling and likable character, but like even then I’d be lying if I said that she wasn’t at the very least interesting. And again like I’ll take any excuse to see Daisy Ridl- sorry what, anyways point is Rey Palpatine skywalker kenobi whatever is a perfectly mediocre protagonist and thus, while sexist assholes may try to convince you that she burned the world’s crops and poisoned the town water supply, truth be told I and many others fans became at worst indifferent, and best charmed by her.

But Kylo Ren? Kylo Motherfucking Ren? Ben SWOLO himself?

This man makes me violent.

And it’s not because he’s more well written then Rey, or even because his writing is particularly worse, as far as I’m concerned they’re both hand in unlovable in in terms of writing quality.

The problem with Kylo is that he could of been so much better, so easily, and yet people still fawned over him.

Like, this guy is Darth Vader’s Fucking Grandson, Luke Skywalker’s Nephew, Son of Han Solo and Leia Skywalker, 1 hot actor removed from self insert character, and yet these writers fucking struggle, each and every time, to figure out what to do with him. Like they are fucking racking their brains trying to make a guy with one of the sickest lightsaber designs ever and a badass outfit all being acted by ADAM FUCKING DRIVER “interesting.”

And PEOPLE FUCKING FELL FOR IT. Like if you go into almost any even slightly sad tag in ao3 I guarantee there will be at least one kylo fic. Like I can not stress to you enough how many people fucking lost their MINDS!!!

And remember, this is all ON TOP of the fawning that Reylo stans had already been doing. Which only made things worse, if you can even believe that.

And so ever since Rise of Skywalker managed to drag the sequel trilogy’s tired, burning, mangled corpse over the finish line, and all the buzz over it died down, and every YouTube video essayist/movie analyzer saw dollar signs in their eyes, we’re left here, with Adam Driver’s tits swaying in the wind. And for what? The most stock Sad Boy Villaintm of all time and his British gf? A marginally cool lightsaber design? Maybe like, 1 cool fight scene at the end of the first movie?

Like… I’m just left to stare… Stare at this man’s hot topic shopper ass hair cut and Zuko wannabe facial scar, left with nothing better to do than seethe, quietly and angrily, at a character who could have been so much, who could have done so much, but yet was doomed to only ever be himself.

In the end, I suppose I am like Sisyphus, rolling my anger up a hill, knowing that it’ll only roll back down again anyway, and yet not an ounce less motivated to continue my toil. Because Kylo Ren is my enemy, my one true opposite in this great narrative we call reality.

And at least, on some nights, I can rest easy knowing that he fucking died at the end.

Your eyes scanned the bar as your friend talked your ear off about her latest work drama, unable to help feeling stuck in a rut at the fact you did this every Friday. This bar was your bar though and the familiarity of it gave you comfort. Things had happened here.

“Are you even listening to me?” She snapped, grabbing your attention again.

“Sorry.” You replied with a wince and she sighed dramatically.

“What’s up with you tonight?”

“Just distracted I guess.” You replied, shrugging as you turned to take a sip of your drink.

“Oh shit.”

“What?” You sighed, taking another long pull of your drink.

“Ben’s here.”

Your head snapped up at that. Your eyes mapped the bar until they finally fell on the man you had once thought was it for you. Breath catching in your throat when his gaze fell on you also.

“Shit.” You mumbled when he started to make his way over and you cursed your hands when they started to shake.

“Hi, stranger.” Came a soft, sweet voice and you looked over your shoulder to see him smiling sweetly at you.

“Hi, Ben.” You replied, giving him a small smile back in return.

“How have you been?” He asked as he pulled you into a friendly hug.

“So so.” You replied with a shrug “Career took off which is good I guess.”

“That's awesome.” He gushed “You seeing anyone?”

“Nah. Still the girl no one wants.” You chuckled and Ben’s brows drew together.

“That’s not true.” He said softly and you sighed.

“Agree to disagree.” You stated, desperate to move on from the subject “What are you doing here?”

“Here with friends.” He replied simply “My buddy Fish needed a night out!”

“Needed?” You pushed and he chuckled.

“Still nosey I see.” He chuffed “His girlfriend walked out on him and his baby a few months back. Baby’s with grandparents and we dragged him out to cheer him up.”

“That’s terrible.” You said, your eyes drifting to his table and studying each of its occupants.

You recognised Will instantly but the other guy was new to you. He looked sad and your heart ached for him. As if feeling your eyes on him his own drifted up and locked you in an intense gaze. He was handsome. Dark eyes and chocolate curls that poked out from beneath a well-loved cap. You smiled and he returned it, eyes softening into something a little less lost.

“Well, I should get back to my friends.” Ben piped up, pulling your attention back to him “Was good seeing you Moonshine.”

“Ugh Ben, don’t call me that.” You groaned and he chuckled.

“Sorry sweet. Always gonna be Moonshine to me.”

He gave you a peck on the cheek before making his way back to his table and Lizzie practically screeched.

“Well, that was awkward.” She chuckled and you nodded in agreement “He looked good though.”

“He always does.” You shrugged “Both those brothers are pretty blessed in that department.”

“Their friend seems interested.” She stated which pulled your gaze back over to the man Ben had referred to as ‘Fish’.

He looked away as soon as your eyes caught him looking at you and you smiled.

“I doubt it.” You replied, “It's never me they’re interested in.”

“You’re always too hard on yourself.” She groaned “Believe it or not, people do find you attractive!”

“Where are they?” You scoffed and practically growled.

“Well for one, you pulled that fucking hotty!” She said pointing at Ben “Hell you dated him for 2 years!”

“And then he decided we were better as friends.”

“I thought it was mutual?”

“It was.” You conceded “We wanted different things but still!”

“What about his friend then?” She argued, “Guy’s not stopped looking at you since Ben sat down.”

“I don’t know him!” You squeaked “If he was interested, he’d come over and talk to me.” You grumbled as you threw your hands up dramatically before grabbing your drink again.

“This a bad time?” Pipped up an unfamiliar voice and you practically fell off your chair when you saw the man in question standing behind you “I’m Frankie.” He said, holding his hand out for a handshake.

“Thought it was Fish?”

“Callsign.” He clarified “My name is Francisco… Or Frankie for short.” He finished with a shrug of his shoulders.

“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Frankie.” Lizzie piped up when you failed to speak “I’m Elizabeth but everyone calls me Lizzie or Liz.” She stated before giving your name and watching as Frankie’s eyes seemed to glow upon learning it.

“It’s nice to meet you both.” He said sweetly “Can I get you a drink?”

“I’ll move.” You said, getting up from your seat and Frank’s expression grew confused.

“Your leaving?”

“Well, you won’t want me hanging around.” You chuckled and his brows drew even closer together.

“I don’t follow.”

“Well, your here for Lizzie right?” You replied, trying hard to show how much it hurt you to say it.

“No offence Lizzie, I’m sure you’re a lovely girl but no… I came to talk to you.” He stated and your jaw dropped.

Liz gave you a wink before getting up to offer Frankie her chair.

“I’ll catch up with you later.” She said before handing the bartender enough to cover her tab and left.

You both sat there in awkward silence for a moment before Frankie finally had the guts to speak.

"Why did you think I'd come to speak to your friend?" He asked and you sighed

"Because normally when a guy comes over, it's her they're interested in." You replied simply "Most guys want the girl with the big boobs and the small waist. I'm neither."

"I think you're the most beautiful girl in here." He replied shyly and your cheeks burned at his confession "I'll confess, I feel guilty thinking that because I know your Ben's ex and you know..." He trailed off and you nodded.

"Damn bro code, eh?" You scoffed and he chortled at that "Ben and I broke up a long time ago." You sighed and he nodded.

"What happened?" He questioned, "If you don't mind me asking."

"We just wanted different things." You replied simply "I wanted to settle down, he wanted to party."

"Oh..." Frankie replied and you chuckled.

"I took him to a festival for his birthday and well, turns out he cheated on me whilst we were there."

Frank's head shot back at this and he glanced at Ben for a moment with an expression that would have frozen the blood in his veins if he had seen it.

"He felt terrible. We worked things out but that should have been my first red flag really."

"I can't believe he did that to you." Frankie growled and you smiled sweetly at him.

" I can." You scoffed "I mean look at him! To this day I have no idea what he saw in me."

Frankie didn't know how to reply to that. It saddened him that you couldn't see yourself the way he saw you. All sweetness and sunshine.

"Can I get you that drink?" He asked and you gave him a shy nod before telling him what you were drinking.

...

"Good for him." Will said as the brothers watched Frankie talk to you "They'd be good together."

"You think?" Ben asked, feeling a twinge of jealousy as he watched you and his best friend laugh together.

"Well, she wants to settle down. Have a family and all that. He's able to offer her that." Will stated simply and Ben's expression grew sour.

"And I can't?" He growled and Will looked at his brother in shock.

"Do you want to?"

"No," Ben answered but he wasn't entirely sure his brother believed him.

He didn't really believe himself.

...

"Ben told me you have a kid?" You said and Frankie tensed a moment before nodding and pulling out his phone.

"Yeah." He replied before showing you his phone "This is Isla. She's just turned one."

Your eyes grew to the size of saucers as you looked at the photo of one of the prettiest babies you'd ever seen. She had his eyes, hair and pouty bottom lip and you swooned.

"She's gorgeous."

Your reaction relaxed him and started to show you a few more pictures of her. It warmed your heart to see how proud he was of his little girl and you could help but wonder what an earth possessed his ex to leave him.

"Ben mentioned that her mum left." You said without even thinking and Frankie's shoulders sank a little "Sorry I shouldn't have said that. It's none of my business-"

"It's fine." He assured you "Yeah, she walked out around 9 months ago."

"So Isla was only-"

"Three months old... Yeah." He nodded grimly.

"We all went on a trip to South America. Was a shit show but when I came back, my mum had Isla and she was gone."

"That's awful." You gasped and he shrugged.

"It was pretty shitty, yeah." He agreed.

"I'm sorry that happened to you Francisco." You said sweetly and his eyes grew wide at the sound of his name rolling off of your tongue.

"Well..." He paused a moment to smile at you "Hopefully my luck is changing."

"I think so." You replied, giving him a wide grin that made his heart skip a beat.

...

"Looks like they're hitting it off." Said will and Ben inwardly groaned.

"Are you still watching them?" He grumbled and Will snorted.

"I'm happy to see Frank smiling," Will stated and Ben sighed.

Fish had been so down in the nine months since his ex had left him. He'd taken it hard but hard worked ten times harder to get his licence back so that he could provide for his daughter. After proving that he was clean, they had given him his licence back without hesitation but the long hours meant little time for him to date. So Frankie had been lonely.

"You sure you're okay with Frankie talking to her?" Will pushed and Ben sighed.

"I'm not thrilled." He confessed, "She's my ex and normally guys don't date their best friend's exes but Moonshine and I broke up years ago." He said with a shrug "They both deserve to be happy."

"And if that's together?" Will pushed.

"Then I'll be happy for them." The younger Miller replied, stopping the conversation dead.

...

"Look. I know this is very forward and we've just met but do you think I could take you out sometime?" He asked, scratching the back of his neck as he nervously awaited your reply.

"As long as Ben's cool with it then I'd love to."

"I should probably check that Ben's okay with this.2 He conceded and you nodded.

"Yeah. Bro code and all." You chuckled before pulling out a card from your purse and handing it to him "This is my number. If Ben's okay then text me or something and we'll book something in!"

"Great." He replied as he beamed at you and you couldn't help but mirror him.

You spoke a little longer before you said your goodbyes. He helped you get a taxi and waved you off before heading back into the bar and resuming his place at the Miller table. Unable to stop smiling as he sipped at his beer.

"Looked like you two were hitting it off." Needled Will and Frankie nodded.

"Yeah, she;'s uh... She's really great." Frank replied, his eyes then training on Ben "I really want to see her again but I don't wanna do anything that could upset you."

"Fish it's cool." Ben replied as he plastered on his best fake smile "We're ancient history. You should take her out."

"Really?" He asked, his brown eyes wide with disbelief.

"Really." Ben confirmed, continuing to smile at his friend "We should probably head hey?" He piped up after a short pause, everyone finishing their drinks before settling the tab and leaving.

Ben couldn't help but notice Frankie grinning as he texted on his phone and a small part of him hated that it was you he was talking to. Seeing you again had brought back a few feelings he'd long since buried and he struggled to understand what they were.

In the 6 years since you'd broken up, he'd changed a lot. He'd been to war. Seen things that many people couldn't even begin to imagine. Yet he still wasn't sure he was ready to settle. he was in his early thirties. He still had time to do all the things it was that you wanted out of life. Frankie was almost forty. He had done those things. Craved to have them back again. He could offer you the life you wanted and Ben wasn't sure he could.

Yet he'd be lying if he said he'd never pictured what that life could be like.

Nice house. Big yard with a big dog and kids running around. He'd had thought about your future together many times over the years you'd been together. The first time it had crossed his mind though, he'd gone in search of beer at the festival you'd gone to together and ended up bumping into a girl from his gym. To this day, he didn't understand what drove him to go back to her tent but it was something he'd regretted every day since. He's sobbed and pleaded for you to give him and chance and you had. You'd forgiven him and taken him back yet a year and a half later he'd let you go.

He didn't deserve you.

Didn't deserve the life you'd wanted to share with him... But Frankie did.

The drive home was quiet. Will dropped Frank off at his house before making his way back to the home he shared with his younger sibling. He knew Ben wasn't being completely honest about how he felt about Frankie taking you out. He knew that you'd always been the one that got away for him but he also knew his brother wasn't ready to be the man you wanted or needed him to be.

You and Frankie would be the perfect match.

He just hoped that in time... Ben would see that too.

You used to watch love island with your family every week there was a new episode you were so excited when you got the call that you will be on love island

“Oh my godddd mir!!!!!” Your sister said excitedly

“I know I fly out there in a couple of days!!” You said it was true you had to fly out there soon because you we’re gonna be one of the new arrivals

On the plane ride you kept thinking about how awesome this was and you were excited if anything there was one boy that you did have interest in

And that was Jack

When you got off the plane you weee met with a person driver he greeted you before putting you stuff in the trunk and opening the door for you

The ride was a little long but it was also peaceful

Into the Spider-Verse: SP//dr: Edge of Spider-Verse #5 (Sponsored by WeirdKev27)

Hello all you happy webheads and welcome back to our second dose of action as your reward… for what I don't know. Maybe you petted a dog recently or something and they were a very good boy/girl. I don't know. With our main spider-trio clear, we're now into the other three spider-persons starting with our only other spider-woman SP//dr.. which is going to be annoying to type out already I can tell you that.

SP//dr is also the only spider-person in this retrosepective to not really have a lot of indivdual focus. She's mostly shown up in team up events only getting one shots in this and the edge of spider-geddon mini series, and the most she's gotten for a solo is a story arc is marvel unimited's spider-verse series. In contrast looking at the other spider-people miles is on his fifth solo series and has tons of minis, gwen has had three solo series and also tons of minis, Spider-Pig had a short lived solo we'll be visiting soon and multiple minis and while never having an ongoing, Noir has had three full mini series and a few one shots. And of course peter has had multiple runs of amazing, spectacular and adjetivelss spider-man along with marvel team up, giant size spider-man, two volumes of web of spider-man and spider-man unlimited, untolt tales of spider-man, two volumes of sensastional spider-man, webspinners tales of spiderman, spider-man's tangeled web, avenging spider-man, and spider-man/deadpool among COUNTLESS mini series. What i'm saying is while Peni has a great issue here and a great concept she really hasn't had the big character defining storyline most of her peers got, and out of the 6 chosen, she's easily the obscure pick, though it likely helped Lord and Miller switched out her origins considerably while leaning into the anime style to give them another distinct spidey to roll with. Kimiko Glenn's impecable as always performance probably didn't hurt.

So going into this.. Peni was a mystery to me, as I hadn't read this issue, spider-verse or spider-geddon. And boy howdy was this a massive fun suprise: For starters Peni was co-created by GERARD FUCKING WAY. For those who don't know him

But for those who don't, Gerard was, and maybe still is?, the lead singer and creative force of the emo band to end all emo bands My Chemical Romance. Naturally my faviorite album is their last one, an over the top and glorious punk album set in a comic style corprate wasteland and where Grand Motherfucking Morrison played the main bad guy. No joke, they showed up in two diffrent videos as the character. He rocks.

And for most people being a world famous rock star and having his own money bin only with pennies painted pink , black and red would be enough. For Gerard.. he wanted to write comics too and was damn good at it. He created Umbrella Academy out of his love for the x-men, which as far as I know he has'nt gotten to work on and i'ts a damn crime, and Doom Patrol, one of my faviorite DC Comcis teams. Thankfully he DID get to work on the latter and rescued them from a decades long limbo, crafting a run that's as batshit insane as it is damn fun and creative. It may not entirely make sense at times but like Morrison's own team defining run, it dosen't always need to to be awesome. He's also written multiple comics based on Danger Days, the album I mentioned, and the 12 issue series Cave Carson has a Cybernetic Eye. While his work is sporadic it's always memorable and this is no exception. So look alive sunshine as we plug in under the cut.

We open with the death of a spider-man: Peni Parker's dad peter dies horribly. How?

But there are two key points from this striking two page spread: SP//dr the man is dead.. btu the actual spider somehow bonded with him is alive

We then cut to young peni parker, age 10, who talks to her uncle ben and aunt mei who break the news which she takes with chilling calm… and then ask her to bond with SP//dr to help defend japan… and also prove their GREAT new caretakers by revealing they released the genetically altered spider her dad died with into the room to bite her without making sure she was okay with it. It bites her and a new spider is added to the web. As you can tell… they changed the tone a LOT with Peni. In the movie she's mostly just "LOOK ANIME'. Here.. it's more cyberpunk, with SP//dr likewise having a more mechanical design. I get Why they did it.. but wish they'd still kept peni unique while making her look anime instead of being generic anime school girl with robot buddy. Especially since SP//dr's armor is fucking sick looking as you could see on the cover

5 years later, she's on duty as this universe's mysterio is attacking.. and also really weird. While the guy inside we'll find out is some nerd in a cool suit and weird globe as usual… his way of attacking the populace is this cool ominous floating doom orb

It's honestly a hell of an interpretation and makes me mad we didn't get to see MORE of way's takes on various spidey rogues, as he naturally goes all out with it while still keeping the core: mysterio is still a showman, but more as a mad artist than a hollywood schster, and his hallucinations gas is stil la thing now just poored onto the street> The art is also incredible, fitting Way's pop punk astetic like a glove, being both colorful while also fitting the mildly gritty tone: this work is cyberpunk but more the anime brand with lots of flash and sound, aka the better version. Aunt May serves as Peni's mission contorla s she prepares to get in, admits sh'es a vegetarian and crashes in on mysterio while playing the song Love is a Weapon by Cult Summer Feat Gloss.. which is a song i'm not even sure actually exists.

What we get is an awesome sequence as our mechanized heroine busts in.. sadly she dosen't say this

But I think she DOES meet this guy eventually so it balances out. It's awesome especially once the hallucinogens kick in and our hero has to punch the guy out. We also find out he's a looney fan who sent her a mix cd.

We then cut to.. school as we see peni's id is public: SP//dr which is both the suit and the spider, and is confusing as you would imagine is there, and when Daredevil shows up to pick her up for superhero stuff she's excused. There's also what looks like anime mj looking at her. Neat.

I like this unvierse's daredevil too: he seems to work as SP//dr's handler, ;ally and a friend of her dad's, has a nice look to him (lookiing like armored daredevil but less 90's and more badass), and ikt's again why I wish we knew more or got a series, even a mini as this universe really ISN'T that explored. I mean granted given how way's work can go we could get more questions than answers, but we'd also get some real neat shit along the way.

We also get a really nice bit where the two break for lunch… where Peni both admits she's tired and asks about her dad. While we don't see MUCH of her here.. we get plenty of character as it's clear Peni feels lost, coming off stoic.. but it's clear there's a real sadness to her: She lost her dad, there's a job she was forced into and didn't ask for and she can never really have a normal life, something Peter, Miles and Gwen all struggle with, but it's magnified here: all of them at least can TRY thanks to the mask. Peni.. is stuck with everyone knowing she's the spider-person and we see that not having to hide.. doesn't make her feel any less alone.

The ending… is a bit more tied into the event than Gwen's.. I mean granted anything's better than

Btu the last few pages are Peni being greeted by Spider-Ham, does whatever a spider-pig does and Old Man Spider. Old Man Spider, who I hadn't seen before this is Ezikiel. He's a LOT to explain and I could just brush over it.. but i'm a wordy bastard so instead here's

JAKE EXPLAINS AN OLD SPIDER-MAN MOST OF YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD OF AND DON'T CARE EXISTS

During the early good parts of J. Micheal Strazenski's long run on spider-man, we found out spider-man was tied into the "web of life and death" and picked as the spider-totem for his universe, with the reason he has so many animal foes being their drawn to him via destiny and stuff. I think it's fine: it's not a necessary explanation but I don't mind adding some magic to peter's science based world. He soon met Ezikel, a successful businessman who also had spider-powers and used them for personal gain, but showed up to help Peter against morlun, a mystical vampire man who hunts spider-people who was cool at the time but sadly got a bunch of generic siblings who are the main reason i'm not super into reading spider-verse and were wisely replaced with kingpin for the movie. Point is he's a cool old guy and in this universe peter died fighting morlun, so Eziekl became spider-man.

Anyways our heroes go to get the suit, and we get Peni stating she's a weapon to keep going till termination, seeing her once again brush her emotions aside… because the reality is too terrifying. All that matters is the job. So with that our spider-'s swing off and we get Spider-Ham's classic catchphrase.

I mean i'ts no crackers and milk... oh who am I kidding it's SO crackers and milk. That'll do pig. That'll do. INto The Spider-Verse #5 is amazing, a ncie short story. If I have any complaint it's that it feels fragmented, with three diffrent stories: peni fighting mysterio, peni and daredevil fighting thgs mysterio told them about, and spider-verse spider-verse. But the energetic tone, art and great characterization for peni means it comes quick, hits hard and leaves a hell of an impression. Hopefully we'll see Peni again in al lher death metal glory. For now.. this is a nice single tha tstands on it's own

Next Time: Just say Noir as a very different Peter Parker must avenge his uncle's murder and dawn a spiffy fedora.

Childhood TV shows? (cartoons, disney/nick sitcoms, etc.)

THAT WILL LIKE GIANT POST BECAUSE I WATCHED THOUSENDS OF CARTOONS, SITCOMS AND MUCH MORE XDDD

Long story short, I didn't have any friends in my childhood and usually I was bullied physically and mentally at elementary school so yeee- That is why I spend 50% of the time in my home looking non stop at the TV screen and watching whatever i found (rest of the time i was playing with my littlest pet shops and monster high dolls making cults, apocalypse, and cities. I LOVED making city for my pet shops and rule them all >:D)

So I will tell about the most important ones for me, because this post would never end if I start talking about EVERYTHING (and won't talk about movies, because it's about what children channels was showing.)

In my kindergarten era my favorite cartoons was mainly on one channel BBC for kids. It was my gold, everything i needed after long day in kindergarten where children were beating shit out of me. And lately I rewatched Numberjacks, Charlie and Lola (funfact my 20y/o dog is named after her older bro XDD), Big coock and Little cook, Teletubbies, The Koala Brothers, etc. (i watched everything what was showned at that time on BBC) This shithead from Numberjack still makes me scared.

He is a demon from my past.

But my parents because they doesn't gave a shit what i was watching my top 1 kindergarden cartoon was original Ben 10 and Lady Gaga music videos (And I'm not even fucking kidding, my family has videos that i could sit for an hours and just watch poker face over and over again.)

And i also rewatched it lately and found out that most of the talking roles are shared between Ratchet and Optimus polish VAs (Jarosław Boberek and Dariusz Odija)

Later we got more channels on our old TV so I started watching channels like Nick, Disney channel and Disney XD (we had cartoon network, etc. before so yeah). And for that time Hannah Montana was perfect for me i truly love it. I loved this show. The same with ICarly (fuck Dan Schneider, fuck paramount and nick that was hiding him and other p3does for years, they are acting like disney but worse) BUT there were also sitcoms for boys, and if you know me I LOVE MEDIA FOR TEEN BOYS. After Hannah Montana stopped showing up, I really felt in love in I’m in the Band, Zeke and Luther, Kickin’ It, ESPACIALLY Crash & Bernstein, because it was mupped show but cooler for me at the time XD

And after it my golden era begin, because we got even more channels and I could watch for first time show that will change my life forever, thanks to this show I'm with you guys rn and start to draw:

My first ever episode of lego ninjago was the episode where 1ep of 3 season, and it got me so hard XDD and at the time I cried me when I was 10 I cried like little baby when Zane died and was this show-don't-tell ending with Pixal. It was everything I needed... and it made me nerd also XDDD At the time i start to watching Teletoon+ like crazy!!! I watched MLP there and LPS too! And I'm so pissed of on myself, because TFP was shown there to but I didin't want to watched, because since i was youngling I hated Bayverse and was scared of their faces, so fuck you Micheal Bay, I almost missed the best TF show ever because of you :))

But also worth to talk about is The Amazing world of Gumball, oh boy I love it the same as Lego Ninjago and Nexo Knights!!! It was spiderman universum for me, when i was young, I watched since it premiered to the very end and even as a young teen I appreciated the animation and creativity that Gumball was showing us. Since today I think that animation and ideas are just pure genius and I can not even tell one thing bad about it like about Total Drama (1-3 season lives rent free in my head still, that is why I'm danganronpa fan) XDD

And now we are getting to second most necessary canon even in my life. The March 16th of 2015 first episode of polish Transformers robots in disguise was showed and it was fun for me! Fun enough that I recommended it to my friend that I created this au with, and she told me that it was cool too! And then years has passed and in 2022 she rewatched because she was bored and discovered Transformers Prime, she was so amazed of it that she begged me for MOUNTH to watch it! And guess how she convinced me to watch it??? XD she showed me that one ep that Starscream was running with KO, because zombie Silas was hunting them XDD (I'm spoiler proof, so I wasn't angry that she showed me ep from 3 season). AAAAnd that is how it started and that is why I'm with you rn and drawing transformers stuff for more than 2 years

So Rid15 literally get me into this awesome fandom!!!

And then I started using internet to the state, that I stopped watching TV at all so yeah... (i mean i was using internet since 2010 when I was 6, and using school computer to play dress up games, but yk what i mean) AND ofc there was much much much more cartoons and shows i watched BUT like I told you there is too much of it XDD

As a funfact my sister forced me to watch naruto and sailor moon in very young age, so I never watched fully and to the age of 13, because of her I HATED anime XDDD

Sitting on the sidelines, she watched the Firstborn Followers of the Fallen hand out pamphlets. Her eyesight noted how their eyes held no real life, and only dark malice. Possessed walking the streets and acting like Jehovah Witness'. This isn't good. VERY BAD! Saoirse crept along the edge of the alley, her eyes firm on the men as they disappeared into a strange temple. Opening her phone she snapped a picture, the strange bladed cross of Adriel sat atop it. "These fucks just moved into my home, is anyone dealing with them?" --- SPOILERS AHEAD! YES, Warrior Nun Season 2 came out and I binged it like the basic thirsty bitch I AM! Please note, I have a lot of solid criticism for this series and a lot of love for it. Please be aware, this TV Series is a strict departure from the kind of hypersexualized work of Ben Dunn, "Warrior Nun Areala". In that world, the Halo doesn't exist in the same way that the Nun in question (Shannon) is a reincarnation of the original Nun, Areala. In this story, Arela is a former pagan Valkyrie comes to serve the church. There's a lot more magick and devils in this story and not as much multiplanar science. First, I want to say that as we enter this season, Ava was her usual irritating self. I mean the girl was basically abused and killed for being disable as an orphan. Remember, she was treated as completely useless and was poisoned to death via an overdose. So when she got the Halo she went hogwild with all the power and ability to you know -walk.-. By now she's still being her reckless self, and starts to actually mature. The breakout of this particular season to me were Beatric, Superion and Camila. Yeah, when we finally get Yasmine into the mix I like how we have a Coptic Nun (who decided to drop a few drags on the British Colonization of Egypt) join the crew. The Ugly Adriel is one of the MOST abhorrently plot armor-filled villain I've seen since I watched WIthout a Trace. Seriously, that godkin should have been killed so many times and the fact he could figure shit out was just stupid. Near the end we got a good example of his power, but honestly these fights felt more like needless tension raising rather than threats. This is where seeing him doing more than offhanded plagues would have been kind of great. As you know, maybe a scene where he stares down a tank, or I dunno ends a war. Like seriously, I mean I get the catholic influences in this show. But there is far too much plot armor propping up the Firstborn, especially with how they treated Lillith. Oh, gods don't get me started on FUCKING LILLITH! Second, Lillith literally murders an entire crowd of the Firstborn fucks and then turns to the man later on. She breaks away after hearing of Mary's death and just -gives- up? Like I get that her mother is shitty and that we're trying to tie her to the demon in the comics (who is a villain daughter of the OG Lillith), but wasted arc. Seeing her as more of a neutral party rather than a simp for Adriel would have been awesome. Since she was already a pretty solid anti-heroine backstory since Season 1. So basically, the story here is just kind of filled with a lot of stakes and at times needless extension. Adriel spends most of the time being a fucking mouthpiece of his own rhetoric and his followers are mooks. The few who reveal themselves at the Conclave was nice touch. Finally, god Miguel was kind of cool, but he was basically a bomb sent by a god. That was his story, sure he introduce the anti-Adriel resistance, but his entire arc was just kind of blah. The Good Fuck, Beatrice is filled with such fucking useless lesbian energy. The entire build up is done in such a way, that I was honestly angry with Ava a lot. But, honestly, Ava is nice to have as a bi/pan figure as well. I had a lot of gay thoughts popping away, but I like Avatrice as a couple. Yeah, in the original season it seemed there was more chemistry with Mary. How she appeared to love Shannon though build up this relationship which seems to coalesce out of the Halo-Bearers with their sisters. Now, there is something to be said for how well acted Beatrice as a big sister is to Camila. What we see here though is the need to protect and care for someone in a supporting and romantic manner. Mary and Beatrice have a strong bond with the Warrior Nun. As Warrior Sisters they stand as a sort of right-hand and as a defender. Yes, the Halo Bearer's have vast supernatural powers, but they need someone to watch their back. This is made even more evident as it was Beatrice in Season 1 who conducted Ava's training. Being together in isolation after the awakening of Adriel and the bombing at the Vatican likely increased their dependence on one another. Her frustration and how she expresses it with Miguel's appearance and joining the team was well acted. Hell, I was so fucking happy when they kissed by the end! The End This series is not nearly as bad as Cursed, which was a -very fucking bad- fantasy series. One that had a bit of potential which ended up wasted! Because, we can't have Arthurian stuff that is kind of okay these days! Now that said, the CGI in this series is still pretty janky. Like, I feel like if Shadow & Bone or even Witcher can get an upgraded so can Warrior Nun. Now this was a series I wasn't sure was going to get renewed. I watched it when Summer 2020 came before I made my big watch of the first Saga's of One Piece. So when I saw a new season I was pleasantly surprised. I do find it really funny that netflix seems intent on placating the Queers with tossing us a bone of a few solid LGBT filled series. While still supporting trash human beings like I dunno, David Chapelle? Who the fuck knows in this case. I was happy to watch this series, and when Adriel was torn apart all I could say was "Took way too damn long!" Hottakes: I watched this series at the end of a long day and in between assistance my sibling with her baby. Plus, I had my teeth drilled because of a cavity so I was pretty damn high as balls. I spent more time analyzing the series and think it over the night after I watched it. So sadly unlike the rest of my reviews I don't have any really hottakes for this one. I will say I want to see some good fics using this verse for you know, better writing!

ALRIGHT ILL GIVE YOU THE WHOLE TLDR this started when my friends moved to mornings. The two people I am closest to at work are my friends Sophia and Rachel and they are both directors at my store while I am just a manager. So ALREADY I'm jealous because they get to go to all these director's meetings together, and then they both move to mornings and not only does that suck because they get to see each other all the time and I see them maybe twice a week BUT THEY LEFT ME WITH ALL THE GUY MANAGERS So one of the guy managers I have spoken of before is Ben. And he is the one that I now work with the most. I used to be kinda close with him while he was dating one of the other managers but we kinda waned out of friendship after something happened on one of my leading shifts (it was not deep.)

We will remember Ben as the Capricorn I work with who broke up with his girlfriend because of a conversation he had with our boss about how she is not the kind of girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with (as she had been going to parties a lot???) and then he broke up with her at work right after her shift and as he started his and then he had sexual relations with a FRESHLY 18-year-old girl that he had been doing one-on-ones with for work while he was still sleeping with his now ex-girlfriend and she found out because she went through his watch text messages at work

mhm. So. he is a pretty good friend to have. He is very funny, and is easy to make fun of and he's actually pretty supportive. Working with him all of the time I have gotten closer to him. I used to go to the gym with him and my other coworker Blake but when all the aforementioned stuff happened I stopped. Anyways we all started seeing each other at the gym again and THEN my coworkers Nam and Blake moved to the same apartment 'neighborhood' as me. I joked with them that I would be at their apartment all the time cause we live so close

I've always been kinda friends with Nam since we both like anime and we're the same age, but we aren't actually that close. Anyways Blake was having his birthday party at Nam's apartment and I got myself invited because I am annoying :) And the people there are Daniel, Blake, Nam, and Ben. Somehow, that turned into this group of people hanging out EVERY tuesday. I left my sweatshirt and Nam's apartment on Blake's birthday and so everytime Nam saw me he would loudly be like WHEN ARE YOU COMING BACK TO GET YOUR SWEATSHIRT (as if we had fucked and I like it there... humiliating) so I start getting invited to hang out with the group which has extended to adding Minnie, Cassidy, my friend Justin, my coworker Aaron and his friend Kellen.

This is a WEIRD group of people and my friend Rachel does get jealous pretty easily. They both HEAVILY judge me for my friendship with Ben (fair) and they really judged me when I told them about the hangout so I didn't show up like two weeks in a row but for some reason they always text me and call me if I don't show up so I've started going anyways

So Rachel had taken over the schedule and on the very few times that I got to see her I would joke that she purposely moved herself to mornings cause she doesn't want to work with me. Anyways I am mean when I joke. I know this. I tell people this because I'm really insecure about it because I'm so "nice" all the time no one believes me and then I hurt someone's feelings and I want to cry. So anyways she started crying because of these jokes and she said she felt like I was mad at her.

I wasn't but I also was a little because also we were supposed to hang out with some other friends Emilee, and Chelsea and my friend Dawn and Emilee said she couldn't hangout that day and they planned to hang out then anyways without even trying to find a different day that would work. That's shitty. And then she said that she just really wanted to hammer down a day because she had been trying to plan this since august but like that was just bullshit it was the ONE day Emilee couldn't hang out she just didn't try hard enough and didn't even care that she was leaving Emilee out of it.

SO I was really stressed cause I didn't know how to tell them I thought that was really shitty. And also during ALL of this I am really really depressed. I don't want to talk to anyone, every single shift I worked I would cry because it was so hard and then I ran out of my anxiety meds so I was having panic attacks every single shift.

Anyways Rachel tells me I'm mean, she cries, I cry and then try to ice them out because I don't want to cry and make it all about myself. I have a cute breakdown.

It's really confusing to have this weird group of friends who really want to hang out with me and then Rachel and Sophia who want to hang out with me but also know that Rachel is mad at me. And it's really stressful to remember that if I talk about the people I am hanging out with the most and who seem to want to talk to me the most then my other friends will be mad at me. But if I don't hang out with that weird group of friends I will be so lonely because the only other person that I want to talk to all the time is busy and I am definitely smothering them cause I'm so fucking annoying

So, also I have no one to talk to about work. Rachel and Sophia don't work with the people I work with. I complain about everything if I can and also when I complain about things that Ben do they immediately get him in trouble for it by dragging our store operator into things when they aren't that serious and I am already dogging on him for it so now it's like if I complain about ben it gets back to him and one of these days he is going to be mad at me for it

I always say I can't complain about things because there are always consequences so I stopped complaining about things at work and Rachel and Sophia get mad at me for not talking about work things because we basically don't talk like at all.

However case and point, I told them ages ago that I wanted to learn interviews and they pretended to be excited about it and I mentioned it to them more than once and then a month later they are training James. Not me. So I ask Rachel oh is James learning interviews as if I didn't want to immediately start sobbing upon seeing it. And she immediately said some shit about brittni (our bosses wife) wanting to make sure I wasn't too stressed with school. I ASKED TO LEARN INTERVIEWS. WHY WOULD I ASK IF I WOULD BE TOO STRESSED ABOUT IT BECAUSE OF SCHOOL.

so I complain about it in passing to Blake and my boss over hears that I am upset about something but I don't tell him because I am being a baby right. Well my boss follows up with blake and blake tells him the truth and then my boss thinks that I am upset at him over it. Which I'm not. my boss didn't know I wanted to do interviews. So after our cute little "you should have asked me" chat I cried and then because of that I think rachel got in trouble because I immediately got scheduled to learn interviews.

I DONT WANT TO DO IT NOW. I complained and now everyone things I'm a fucking cry baby. which I am.

and i just. am so greatful for the friends I have but I'm miserable everyday and people are mad at me cause I don't talk about my feelings anymore and I don't even know what they think I just can;t do anything without upsetting anyone.

I don't know. I just really need a therapist but no one will get back to me so I'm just stuck with a dumb psychiatrist who things higher doses of sedative medicine will cure my anxiety and thus minimalize my depression. Whatever. I just hate being a cry baby and being so mad at myself for being a cry baby and then having people tell me how nice and great I am, like I'm not you know what i mean? AND YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN narcissist. Oh boohoo a bunch of people want your attention and want to hang out with you that's so hard. And then on top of that I have to reject a 32-year-old anime coworker who hasn't even asked me out yet.

AND THAT IS WHY IT IS FAIR THEY ARE MAD AT ME and why I should choose not to be friends with my weird group of friends and why I am stressed about it every day sigh

ahhhhh the lord huron concert was amazing from start to finish!! the whole show was vibrant, energetic, and also very emotional, full of longing. ben is one of those artists that sounds exactly like his recording, and even better, live. the instrumentation was particularly exceptional!!! i will never listen to ancient names (part i) the same way again, i will always want the sitar like i heard it live!!!

i think my favorite performance was wait by the river — earlier in the set, ben had joked about the previous night’s performance and how the band was pleasantly surprised that it was not raining like it had the night before. but then they strike up wait by the river, and the rain comes pouring down as he sings “I will cry out to heaven / As it rains down on me / I will beg for forgiveness / Get down on my knees / If I can't change the weather / I can change your mind / If we can't be together / What's the point of life” HOLY FUCK it was a perfect moment. i have a video of it but it just doesn’t capture it the same way.

at one point, ben left the stage in the dark as the band vamped, and he came back in a skull mask for a rollicking performance of back from the dead.

the staging was gorgeous, there were these awesome desert rock/dead tree/tombstone set pieces, and the rocks had illuminated strips across the top that changed throughout each song. there was a literal emerald in the sky!!!!

misty boyce (pianist/keyboardist) sang “i lord” with ben and it was TRANSCENDANT, her vocals were stunning and they paired so well together!!
