#BILBO W BRAID...

Text
Okay so I have a big hyper fixation right now
It’s bagginshield (Bilbo and Thorin from the hobbit)
Anyway….. I have an idea/ plot thing inspired by one of @morningnoodles drawings of them where bilbo pulls out a braid from behind his ear
Anyway here you go⬇️
After the battle was over and Thorin was laying on the ground slowly going to join his ancestors while Bilbo holds him pleading for him not to go and stay here with him and the company. Something catches Thorins eye. Something twisted. More specifically a braid. Slowly coming from behind Bilbos ear.
“What is this?” Asks Thorin in a low voice. Reaching up to touch said braid. Bilbo with tears in his eyes helps Thorin reach said braid.
“ A little something I was learning to do. To appreciate and learn some of your customs.” says bilbo in between hiccups.
“For who?” Asks Thorin. As he slowly realizes he may have lost his hobbit to another.
“For… you” says bilbo in a low voice.
This surprises Thorin. His hobbit. His Bilbo. His Love. Did this beautiful intricate braid. For him….
For a man who shammed him? Who hurt him? Who stopped believing in him?
“Why?” Asks Thorin. His breathing slowing.
“Because….. because I…. because I Love You. I love you, Thorin!” Says Bilbo in a loving voice.
His hobbit. His bilbo. His love. Loved him back. And he loved him so unconditionally he went to war and fought for him. Oh how lucky he was.
“That’s good to hear.”
“W-why?”
“Because my dear hob-. No, my dear Bilbo. I love you as well.”
Thorin reached up but could only reach up so far and yet was meet with a kiss from “his love”.
“I love you Bilbo. Thank you”
And those were the last words ever spoken to Bilbo by Thorin.
The end.
Hope you guys like this I don’t write stories this was the first one I’ve ever written.
Thank you for your time.

someone braided Keapeer's fur(hair)...👀
Tumblr media
Btw this is also DR lore lmao
My name is Keapeer [Keep-ear] in my DR and I'm a Dwobbit Dragon borne(my own vers) who Gandalf at first brought with bc I was gonna be dropped off at Rivendell but plans changed and now I'm traveling w them :3
Thorin fucking hates me but like. He has his moments where he cares I guess.
Bilbo is chill, he will usually be the one feeding me bc the other dwarves also hate me,and he shares some stashed dandelion bread occasionally!!
Fili will give me his left overs (usually ending up being bones or stale bread or the last drops of whatever liquor he took) and he will sometimes hum songs with me when on nightwatch (I'm nocturnal)
This is mostly just silly posting and background on my DR :33

welcome to part 2/2 of “the company’s reacts to starbucks” babes!
if you missed part 1, check that out here
let’s get right into it:
Tumblr media
nori: nori has a flair for the dramatic (look at his hair and beard braids and try to argue), therefore his drinks have to be ✨extravagant✨ — this mf probably orders tiktok drinks, layered fraps, you name it. he has no chill. he will also order it by how he found it - “can i get ‘the last of us’ drink?" (a venti strawberry creme frap with mocha, java chips, and layered with puree and cookie crumbles).
Tumblr media
bifur: despite his gruff exterior, bifur seems like a sleepy/chill person, so i imagine he gets various types of teas depending on whether he needs to wake up a bit or wind down. he doesn’t go to Starbucks unless he’s with dori, so dori can order for him (again, this man grunts??) he seems like a hot london fog latte kinda guy, or maybe a royal english breakfast tea type of person.
Tumblr media
bofur: if dori is the mom friend, bofur is the dad friend - he probably likes a basic coffee with cream (maybe even a flat white) for his day to day orders, but he’s absolutely a mobile order regular. he treats himself with the og “stbx secret menu” fraps, like a cinnamon roll frap, snickers frap, etc. but it’s okay bc they’re mobile-ordered🫶 probably also gets a chocolate chip cookie with his coffee, let’s be fr.
Tumblr media
bombur: bombur, this friendly man, absolutely gets frappuccinos and only frappuccinos. he’s tried every flavor, and cycles through a caramel ribbon crunch w/ extra caramel drizzle, a java chip, or a cafe vanilla frap. he also gets a ham and swiss on baguette or an eggs and cheddar protein box every damn time he makes a starbucks run.
Tumblr media
dwalin: dwalin is scary. he stresses out every barista based on his demeanor, even though he’s actually incredibly soft. he probably gets a red-eye, and then gently corrects the barista if they don’t know what a red-eye is. also gets a black cold brew with a shot of espresso during the summer months.
Tumblr media
balin: he’s SO grandpa. he secretly wants to get black coffee and seem exasperated like gandalf is, but his go-to is a raspberry white mocha, or occasionally a toffee nut white mocha. maybe a nonfat java chip frap w/ no whip if he's treating himself? a little sweet drink to reward himself after giving therapy to the entire company is usually what he needs.
Tumblr media
bilbo: and last but certainly not least, our favorite anxiety-riddled hobbit finds himself at starbucks often, mostly because of the comfort it brings him. like his nephew frodo, he prefers a nice tea to calm his nerves, switching between earl grey, royal english breakfast, and a chai latte if he’s feeling adventurous. if he’s wanting something with coffee, you can bet he’s getting a honey almondmilk flat white. you can always find him working on his book there after the events of the hobbit, probably munching on a warmed blueberry scone as he writes.

Chapter 7: Oakenshield
The room fell eerily silent. I followed the dwarves as they shuffled in the direction of the entrance. The jovial mood from moments before was gone, replaced with a quiet stillness that was unsettling.
I stood behind Kili and Fili at the back of the pack, trying to stay out of the way but still get a glimpse of who the last arrival was. Gandalf swung the front door open, and I heard a deep voice ring out.
“Gandalf. I thought you said this place would be easy to find. I lost my way, twice.”
As he stepped through the doorway I took in the sight of the final dwarf. I couldn’t be certain in comparison to Gandalf, but he appeared to also be a bit taller than the rest of the company as Fili and Kili were. He had long, dark hair streaked with white and two braids at his temples. His beard was cropped close to his chin. I also noted a remarkable resemblance to the two brothers I stood behind.
“Who is that?” I asked quietly.
“It’s our uncle, Thorin.” Fili whispered in return.
The party gathered around the dining room table again as Thorin stood in the hall, removing his cloak and conversing with Gandalf about his trip. I could overhear him begin to grill Bilbo about his experience and abilities as he picked over the leftover food and ale. I settled into a spot at the end of the table next to Fili and Kili. The dwarves remained silent, looking nervously from one to another as they waited for Thorin to enter. I grimaced when I heard him insult Bilbo from the other room.
“He seems nice.” I said sarcastically, under my breath.
Kili and Fili both stifled a laugh as Thorin entered the room.
“You get used to him.” Kili mumbled in return.
His nephew’s voice seemed to draw his attention to the end of the table where the three of us sat. His eyes finally fell on me, only for a moment. As we locked eyes he quickly looked away, turning to face Gandalf with a disgruntled frown.
“You didn’t mention anything about a hobbit or a woman on our journey.” He said disdainfully. The disappointment was evident on his face.
I scowled in return, and I could feel the brothers both fix a sympathetic gaze on me.  I’d certainly been misunderestimated on Earth before. I was young, I was small, and needless to say I was a woman. But it was remarkable how those things fell to the side quickly after you’ve saved the planet a few times. Thorin’s attitude was one I hadn’t been faced with in quite a while.
“Trust me, you will be grateful for Lilith’s presence.” Gandalf began. “I did not make my decision lightly. She is a skilled fighter. She is also remarkably quick and light on her feet, as is our hobbit. You tasked me with finding the 14th and 15th members of this company. I need you to trust my judgment.”
Thorin did not seem convinced. He took a long sip from his ale before speaking again, though he refused to meet my gaze. He kept his eyes focused on Gandalf.
“I will not be responsible for her safety. I cannot guarantee it. Or the hobbit’s.”
Gandalf opened his mouth to respond.
“I can handle myself.” I spoke up, cutting him off. I felt the eyes of the table turn to me. The room remained dead quiet, with the exception of the few words spoken between Thorin, myself, and Gandalf. I kept my attention focused on Thorin, ignoring the silent stares of the other dwarves. He wouldn’t meet my gaze. His eyes were focused on his nephews, who were both watching me.
“I’m sure you can.” He said, sarcasm dripping from every word.
I ran my fingertips over the hilt of one of the blades against my thigh, debating whether or not I felt like demonstrating. I loathed Thorin's attitude, but I also wasn’t sure how much of a wave I wanted to make before the trip even began. His refusal to look me in the eye angered me as much as his words did, and he continued to avoid my stare as he spoke to Gandalf once again.
“I thought I made it clear the kind of assistance I requested.” Thorin began, viciously eyeing the wizard as he spoke. “I don’t intend to be slowed by the likes of a damsel in distress at every turn. Or a halfling.”
He finally turned to me for the first time since he’d sat down, casting a disgusted look down the table in my direction as he turned up his mug to quickly finish the rest of his ale.
That did it.
In one smooth motion I stood and ripped the knife from its sheath. Without hesitation I flung the blade with a flick of my wrist down the table towards the rude dwarf. It whirled through the air seamlessly and lodged solidly in the bottom of the wooden mug. It found its intended target with a loud thud, planting itself dead in the center as I’d intended. Thorin froze in place, the glass still raised to his lips.
The silence was deafening. The dwarves sat motionless, half of them staring at Thorin and the other half staring at me. No one dared speak, let alone move.
Gandalf was frozen as well, still looking at Thorin as he held the mug firmly in place, unwavering. He looked from him to me and for the first time since we’d met, he appeared rattled. I didn’t know if he’d anticipated Thorin’s reluctance of my place within the group, but I was certain he didn’t expect me to heave a dagger at the dwarf’s head upon our first meeting.
Thorin slowly lowered the mug, not seeming to mind the ale that dribbled down from the hole in the base. We locked eyes and I kept my focus trained on him as I sat down, unwilling to be the first to break eye contact.
He kept his eyes locked on mine in return as he reached down and grasped the handle of the knife. He gave a sharp tug; nothing happened. He finally broke eye contact as he looked down at the mug and tugged again. Still, the dagger remained lodged in the center. He looked from his glass to Gandalf, seeming to realize how tightly it was stuck and how much strength that required; not to mention the skill required to place it dead in the center. It was a target of only about five inches, and a slight miscalculation could have been the end of the one they called Oakenshield.
A deep, rough noise came from his throat. It sounded like a cough at first, but slowly I realized it was a chuckle. The chuckle grew louder, turning into a deep belly laugh. He laughed alone for several moments, as the rest of the company were still too on edge to even crack a smile. I saw Gandalf relax out of the corner of my eye.
“I seem to stand corrected.” He said, holding the mug out towards me. Ale continued to dribble from the bottom as he nodded his head to me in respect. “I can admit when I am wrong. Welcome to the company, Lady Lilith.”
I returned his nod, grateful my gamble had paid off and not resulted in my banishment from the company. He finished his drink with the knife still stuck in the bottom of the mug, and once the glass was empty he handed it to Dwalin, gesturing for him to pass it down the line and return my blade to me.
Chatter slowly picked up around me as the dwarves began to discuss the mountain, speaking of signs and the logistics of the quest. As I tried to focus my attention on the conversation between Thorin and Balin to gain a better understanding of what our objective would be, I became aware of two stares that were still fixed on me.
Tumblr media
“Mahal.” Kili breathed, scarcely above a whisper as he took Thorin’s  mug from Fili. “I’ve never known a dwarf that even had the nerve to speak back to Thorin.” He passed me the glass and I could see a smile begin pulling against the corners of his lips. “You are endlessly fascinating, my lady.”
“What if you’d missed?” Fili asked, his eyes still wide with a hint of fear and fascination.
“I don’t miss.” I whispered, winking at the both of them as I ripped the dagger from the mug in one pull.
** Mahal – the Dwarvish version of “God” or a maker

How do you or would you headcannon Bilbo and Thorin accidentally proposing or getting engaged and how would they proceed when they find out or the other accepts the proposal? Do you think Fili would be helpful to the situation or just laugh about it?
okay okay okay so im really sorry for not answering your first message yet i havent forgotten it!!!i just cant choose an OC for it i just have way too many and that battle royale takes some time
I blacked out for half and hour and this is the result i guess (most of it under the cut cause its kinda long)
okay so accidentally im headcanoning theres some sort of betrothal braid for dwarves (which like yes it has been done to death but again accidental) and bilbo like just offers to braid thorins hair on like a lazy morning of very little to do in the shire, theyve been to the farmers market, thorin has done his social call at the bee keeper to check in on his bees (hes allergic so they cant have them in bag end so he has a bee sitter, but theyre still his bees and he is kinda obsessed w them, just as much as his veggie patch thank you very much, his zucchini won a prize recently actually)
so anyway thorin gets home (bilbo went home after the farmers market) maybe its starting to get a tad autumnal and they cozied up outside on the bench and bilbo offers to braid his hair because "oh look at that youve got a leave or two stuck in your hair, really early ones this year" so he untangles bits and strands of thorins hair and then decides why not braid it, it would look so nice braided he likes braids all the dwarves like braids in their hair, he's seen so many dwarves in his life and they all had braided hair and beard styles (more or less kili is an outlier and refuses to be counted) so he weaves his fingers through thorin's hair and voila would you look at that! he is actually kinda proud of himself
thorin only notices the braid and the specific style and nature of the braid once he wants to braid his hair for bed (for safekeeping so it doesnt get frizzled and tangled while he sleeps) and he pales and then blushes because what is this? and he tries to undo it but then - - - stops
he leaves it that way, he thinks it suits him and besides whos gonna notice anyway, it can be his secret for now. so he secures the braid
it isnt until after the harvest, and after thorin and bilbo started fretting about the weather further east, especially in the mountains, especially with them expecting company that has to cross those mountain passes that must be quite treacherous with the first snowfalls of the season, that thorin remembers the braid.
not that he ever forgot it, he makes sure its in tip top shape every morning afternoon and evening, bilbo has even commented on him becoming vain in his old age (not that Thorin is old) and everytime he does it fills him with so much warmth and giddiness that he just has to scoop up bilbo and smother him in kisses (which doesnt help with endless the teasing but thorin can tease back plenty) but he remember that even tho bilbo doesnt know what it means (or at least thorin thinks his lover doesnt, bilbo has after all never really done anything to show that he knows about dwarven customs like this one specific one) that they have enough visitors coming to fill every nook and cranny in bag end who do know the precise and very specific meaning of that braid.
So he tries to explain, he tries his best, he doe his best to at least try and get bilbo to understand, to prepare him for the onslaught of stares and jests and rowdy comments, he cooks a fancy meal, a four course one that would make every hobbit housewife proud (and he did have some tips from his bee sitter mind you, where to forage the best mushrooms which butcher has the best mutton, the best herbal marinades, the hobbit essential to giving your special someone a special someone, she even wishes him the best of luck with his endeavor and squeezes a few extra bottles of honeyed ale into his hand and even sends her grandson?? Thorin isnt quite sure how this young hobbit is related to her but he is, he looks like he is to get some flowers, o thorin must be  a pitiful sight, he couldve gotten the flowers himself, he knows which ones are bilbos favourite wildflowers, the bouquet filled with some ears of barley some sunflowers and some umbels of elderflower for their sweet smell) but he accepts never the less and hurries on home, his arms overflowing with baskets and flowers and bags
His only silver lining is that the company isnt supposed to arrive until later this week, that he has a few days still, a few days to make this right, to explain things and learn more about hobbit customs, especially the ones that have to do with the whole spending the rest of thor life together part, right now that seems like the most important part, the part that makes his heart hammer wildly and makes the pieces all set in place, makes him see it all clearly.
The road leading up to bag end is already jammed with carts and ponies when he arrives, most of these dwarves he knows of course and most of them are on their way to the blue mountains and only staying long enough to unload their gifts and trunks and passengers right at bilbos door. He almost wants to drop everything hes carrying, all his treasures, and hurry up the rest of the road, the last few metres to bilbos door
Bilbo has to know
he needs to know
He elbows his way through the gathering crowd, pushes past hobbits and dwarves aside alike not really caring if they moe out of the way in time or not, he wants to apologise but also this is not the time his mind is only focused on one thing and that is getting to that door and to bilbo before-
“Uncle!” comes a unison shout followed by a stern “Well if that isnt my oakhead of a brother, hello dearest, oh whats this then?”
and thorin almost trips over his own two feet.
“You two?? Engaged?? And not even a raven, my my what a great brother i have in you.”
Its bilbo that pipes in to save him “well… erm… we were going to wait until you all arrive, isnt that right, honey, thats why you bought all that food.”
“Thats not gonna feed us all after our long journey, but congrats I guess” Dis claps him on the shoulder and thorin feels his soul leaves his body, he can see mahal and mahal is facepalming and shaking his head in disappointment as if he just lost a bet with his wife.
When he comes back to himself, fili is the only other dwarf still standing outside the door of bag end, mouth agape, like he too just lost a bet.

Birthday Encounters | Legolas Greenleaf
Mainlist | Serieslist
Pairing: Legolas Greenleaf x fem!reader
-
“Aragorn!”
Strong arms wrapped around her waist as her friend of countless years lifted her and spun her in circles.
“Y/N! It has been far too long.” The King placed Y/N back on her feet in his home.
Y/N nodded. “I agree. Thank you for the invitation.”
Aragorn gave Y/N a kind smile and gestured for them to walk. “Of course. How have you been?”
Y/N smiled. “Good. I have been helping the Ents repair their land since Saruman’s destruction of Fangorn Forest. Did you get my wedding present? I heard Arwen enjoyed jewelry-making in her spare time.”
Aragorn smiled. “Yes, she loves it.” He was upset Y/N could not make their wedding and considered postponing it just so that she could attend. But being so ill, they had no idea when she would be well enough to attend. “What else have you been doing?”
Y/N shook her head. “Traveling. Relaxing. You know that fight took more out of me than I ever got back.”
Aragorn nodded. “Somehow, I always forget you fought in the Battle of the Five Armies all those years ago. Perhaps because you never speak of it.”
Y/N smiled sadly. “Well, there’s nothing good to speak of. Perhaps if there was, I would talk more of it.”
Aragorn frowned. “Sorry. I did not mean to upset you.”
Y/N looked over the balcony they had stopped at, seeing Arwen talking to two elves she did not recognize. Not that she knew many to begin with. “It’s alright.”
“Come, Lady Y/N. I am sure you’ve missed Arwen.”
As they descended the stairs, Y/N said, “I’m not a Lady. You know that.”
“You are in my eyes. But don’t let Arwen hear that.”
Y/N laughed as they reached the bottom of the stairs, catching the attention of Aragorn’s wife, Arwen.
“Y/N!” The elf exclaimed happily, reaching forward to grab her arms. The woman had become used to the customs of men and women while married to Aragorn and moved to hug Y/N, a custom most elves did not engage in. As Arwen had put it years ago, elves did not like to touch people they were not close to.
“Arwen! I have missed you, my friend.”
Arwen, who looked like she had not aged a day, smiled in agreement. “The last time I saw you-”
“I looked horrible,” Y/N laughed. “Hopefully, I look much better now.”
Arwen smiled. “Much better.”
“Arwen? Are you not going to introduce us to your friend?” The two elves waited expectantly behind the dark-haired elf. Both were fair-skinned with braided silver hair. The one who spoken was a young girl, though it was hard to tell just how old she was.
Arwen smiled. “This is Y/N. She and Aragorn met when Sauron tried to regain power. She has been a friend ever since.”
The two elves gave short bows. “And this is Selina and Legolas. Sindar elves.”
Mirkwood elves, Y/N realized. And the name Legolas rang a bell. “You are the son of Thranduil.”
Legolas nodded but displayed a slightly sour face. “And Seline is my guard. She goes wherever I go and has become quite a close companion to Arwen and Aragorn.”
Y/N smiled at Seline, who did not talk much. Both were ethereal in their elven beauty, practically glowing. Y/N felt ugly in their presence – but that was what most non-elves felt. “It’s wonderful to meet you.”
“I assume Aragorn’s birthday brings you here as well?”
Y/N nodded. “Considering I missed their wedding, it was the least I could do.”
Aragorn sighed. “For the last time, we do not blame you. You made great sacrifices on the Lonely Mountain. It is not your fault you get sick often.”
Y/N looked away in shame.
“Oh, leave her be, Aragorn. You know how stubborn she can be. More stubborn than that red-bearded friend of yours, Gimli.”
“Seline!” A small girl appeared from the west hall, reaching the she-elf’s waist. “You’re back!”
The elf smiled and bent down, whispering something in the little girl’s ear before being towed down the hall to an unknown location. The little girl barely dodged the incoming servant, dressed in purple and gold thread.
“My Lord and Lady, the advisors need to speak with you. Urgently.”
Aragorn sighed and reached for his love. “We will be right there. Y/N? Do you mind showing Legolas around? He has not visited since the attack.”
Y/N chanced a glance at the elven prince before nodding. “Of course. Does that include the wine cellar?”
Aragorn playfully flicked his friend’s nose. “You stay out of there. You drink like a dwarf.”
“I take that as a compliment!” Y/N yelled as the duo followed after the servant. Once they were out of sight and earshot, she turned to Legolas. “Shall we start at the wine cellar?”
•••
“And that’s it,” Y/N said, stopping where they had started. She hid her pain well, casually leaning against a stone pillar to relieve some of the pressure in her lungs.
“They have expanded since I was last here,” Legolas mused, taking in the almost-elvish architecture. Then again, Aragorn had spent a lot of his live in Rivendell. Legolas looked back at Y/N, who seemed to have trouble breathing. Her chest expanded roughly, stuttering as her eyes watered. “Are you alright, My Lady?”
Y/N forced a laugh. “Why does everyone call me that? I’m not a Lady.”
“You look like one.” Legolas looked an elf caught off guard, which was a rare thing to behold. His fair cheeks flushed slightly and he looked away momentarily before speaking again, this time much faster. “You seem to have trouble breathing.”
Y/N waved him off. “It’s nothing, really. It’ll pass soon enough.”
“What is ‘it’?”
Y/N sighed. “A long time ago, I used to live in Lake-town. I lived there when Thorin Oakenshield and Bilbo Baggins woke the dragon, Smaug, and he burned my home. The smoke damaged my lungs. I have struggled to breathe since but exercise makes it worse. I don’t expect an elf like you to understand. I know your kind never tires.”
Legolas squinted at Y/N. Her ears were round and her skin was not flawless but…there was something about her. The way she carried herself. “You have elven blood in you.”
Y/N was surprised. Most people didn’t notice the drop of elf in her. “Yes. One of ancestors was elvish. Though, I inherited nothing but prolonged aging and the ability to jump.”
Legolas felt himself smile at the news. There were few of his kin left in Middle-Earth. And halfling or not, she counted.
“Do you know any elvish?”
Y/N shook her head, still trying to catch her breath and stay the pain deep in her lungs. “No. Aragorn tried to teach me but it just doesn’t sound-” Y/N couldn’t finish her sentence, interrupted by a coughing fit. She bent over the railing, coughing and trying to catch her breath. Something touched her back – Legolas, she realized. She waved him off. “Just give me a moment. This damned corset makes matters so much worse.”
“Corset?”
Y/N nodded and something was brought to her lips. Legolas’ waterjug. She drank eagerly until the rough burn in her throat was soothed. “Thank you. And, yes. My mother insisted I wear a corset because it is what women do these days.” Y/N harrumphed at that and Legolas laughed.
“Is your mother here?”
“No, she stayed with my father back home to work on our farm.”
“Then why not loosen it? Or lose it entirely?”
“You make it sound like disobeying a parent’s order is easy.”
“I know for a fact that it isn’t,” Legolas said firmly. “But doing what you desire is freeing. Even if it means just losing a corset.”
“Legolas! Y/N!” Aragorn and Arwen appeared at the end of the hallway before Y/N could say anything. “Dinner is in an hour.”
Y/N smiled and Arwen moved forward. “Let’s get you changed, my friend.”
Y/N let herself be dragged off to her friend’s chambers where Arwen searched through the wardrobe, stopping on a pale blue dress with an attached cape and gold ringlets at the shoulders.
“Perfect.”
Arwen braided Y/N’s hair in a signature elvish braid, pulling it back to reveal her perfectly round ears. “I sense Aragorn and I interrupted something between you and Legolas back in the main entryway.”
Y/N shook her head softly. “He just said something, is all.”
“You’ve got the furrow in your brow you always get when you think too hard. Did his words bother you? He is from Mirkwood. They don’t have the best manners.”
“No, not at all,” Y/N assured as they moved to the door. It was almost time for the birthday feast to begin. “He just said something…eye-opening.”
“An elf? Saying something wise? How odd.”
Y/N laughed as they approached the garden. Legolas, Seline, Aragorn, and red-bearded dwarf were waiting for them. The human and two elves had changed, and Aragorn now wore his signature crown. He looked like a king. Arwen left Y/N’s side to join her husband’s.
“What’s so funny?”
“Just your wife finally grasping human humour. She’s become quite good at it.”
Aragorn rolled his eyes. “Don’t remind me. Y/N, this is Gimli. I’ve told you about him.”
Y/N curtsied. “I have heard plenty about you. Pleasure to finally meet you.”
Gimli touched his heart like an elf would. “The pleasure is all mine, Milady.”
“Why do people keep saying that?”
Gimli stuttered. He was expecting a thank you, not an argument. “W-well…you look like a princess.”
Y/N glanced at Legolas from the corner of her eye in amusement. He was already staring at her. “People keep saying that too.”
Aragorn chuckled and the two humans shared a look. The other four looked between the two humans as their eyebrows furrowed and raised and, finally, Y/N stuck out her tongue childishly.
“Something is happening that I do not understand,” Gimli finally said.
Legolas, who did not take his eyes off the two, said, “Me neither.”
“Shall we go in?” Aragorn said. “The little ones are already inside.”
“You mean the Hobbits you always talk about in your letters? Y/N asked eagerly.
Aragorn chuckled. “Yes. I will introduce you.”
“May I escort you to our table’ Milady?”
Y/N smiled at Gimli and nodded, slipping her hand around his upper bicep. Legolas and Seline followed behind them. The vines parted to reveal a garden from a fairytale. People were chatting loudly and small children ran around their parents’ feet. Ahead, four small men were already seated at the head table and turned to see them arrive.
“Legolas! Gimli!”
Y/N moved away so that the six could rejoice, looking for her place at the table. Her name was written in beautiful Elven cursive and knew Arwen had written it. Her name was between Legolas’ and Aragorn’s and she felt comfort in that. Though she wasn’t sure why Legolas’ proximity had an effect on her. Y/N moved to walk around the garden, examining all the details that had been considered for Aragorn’s ninetieth birthday.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”
Y/N turned to see Legolas had approached her. She was standing by the wall of well-wishes, where guests wrote notes for the birthday boy.
“Yes. Arwen did a wonderful job of combining both human and Elvish customs. I’m sure Aragorn will be quite overjoyed when they finally come in.”
“May I escort you back to our table?”
Y/N stared at Legolas’ outreached arm, waiting for her take it as she took Gimli’s. “I was under the impression that Elves did not touch people outside their loved ones?”
“You are correct,” Legolas smiled humbly. “But humans do. Besides, I spent plenty of time with the Hobbits, Gimli, and Aragorn while fighting Sauron. I do not stick as strictly to Elven customs as I once did.”
Y/N smiled. “In that case,” she wrapped her arm around Legolas’ bicep. “I would love to be escorted. Perhaps…we could dance later too?”
“Mirkwood elves don’t really dance,” Legolas admitted. “But a few years back Gimli introduced me to drinking games. I’m quite good at those.”
Y/N laughed. “I’ll take your word for it and pass on that offer. I’ve heard elves cheat at them. But we could sit and talk.” They were at the table now. “Arwen and Aragorn have told me all about Rivendell but I know very little of Mirkwood.”
Legolas bowed. “You have an accord.”
The night was filled with laughter, spilt ale, and dancing. Pippin and Merry had been up on a random table for the past thirty minutes, singing as their mugs of ale were continuously filled.
Nyx’s stomach hurt from laughing so long and hard and was grateful her dress didn’t have a corset. Her lungs began to ache and she reached for a goblet of water in hopes of staying the oncoming coughing fit.
“You should try marshmallow root,” said Legolas suddenly. He and Y/N were the only two at the table, retelling stories of their past and laughing at their friends. “It will not heal your lungs, but it will soothe your throat.”
“Does nothing get past your eyes?”
“Well,” Legolas smiled. “Elves do have excellent eyesight.”
Y/N rolled her eyes. “I see you’re catching on to human humour as well. Do you know any jokes of ours?”
Legolas smiled. “Gimli once told me one. Are you ready? Okay. What hangs at a man’s thigh and wants to poke the hole it’s poked before? And I’ll give you a hint. It is not what you think it is.”
Y/N squinted. “It’s a dwarf joke? The answer must be inappropriate somehow.”
“I can assure you it is not.”
“What is it then?”
“A key.”
Y/N laughed, though she found it be less funny and more of a riddle. She did not want to hurt Legolas’ feelings.
“Now tell me something about your culture. Humans never cease to amaze me.”
“What do you want to know?”
“You commented on how elves treat loved ones. I know Aragorn is human but he was raised in Rivendell. What are your customs?”
“My father always kisses my mother on the cheek. And whenever either of them leaves the house, they tell the other they love them. And my mother often falls asleep on my father in sitting room when he reads.”
“Was he boring?”
“What?”
“She fell asleep on him when he read. Was he boring?”
Y/N laughed. “No, not at all. He was very good at telling stories, actually. And my mother always says that falling asleep on his shoulder is when she gets the best sleep. Because she’s close to him.”
“How is that comfortable? How does that even work?” Legolas laughed. Y/N could see he was trying to imagine it in his head.
“Like this.” Carefully, so as not to cross too many of Legolas’ boundaries, she moved closer to Legolas and slouched in her seat, gently resting her head on his shoulder. “And my father would read chapter after chapter. Tell story after story. And my mother would fall asleep on his shoulder and I would fall asleep in front of the fireplace.”
Legolas smiled, watching his friends dance together as a beautiful girl rested on his shoulder. “I understand now. This is nice.”
“So nice I may not move,” Y/N joked.
Legolas touched Y/N’s hand beneath the round table. “So don’t.”

birthday with the company headcanons!
☆ a birthday gift to two wonderful people, @trxblemaker and @rowandor whose birthdays are on the 13th and 14th respectively!
☆ (platonic!company/reader)
☆ takes place after BOTFA, everybody lived!!
☆ kind of angsty at the beginning but dON’T WORRY THERE IS MUCH COMFORT AND FLUFF TO MAKE UP FOR IT!!!!
☆ target audience- teen reader
☆ (y/bday)= your birthday
☆ (y/n/a)= your new age
you were slowly but surely getting settled into erebor, your new home
shortly after the battle, you found yourself adopted by EVERY MEMBER OF THE COMPANY
you now wore braids with handmade beads in your hair, one for each family
you lived in erebor, obviously
and all the other families, lived in rooms in the same hallway
you spent most of your time exploring
and the company weren’t the only ones you spent time with
dís had taken a liking to you quite fast, proving to be a much appreciated maternal figure in your life
tauriel was like a sister to you. someone you could prank kíli with, but also go to for advice and a listening ear
so basically you never had to worry about being lonely
things had been pretty quiet and uneventful for awhile
until, on one ordinary day, you made the mistake of bringing up your birthday
you were walking aimlessly around erebor, simply exploring and enjoying the view
when kíli bounded up to you, a smile lighting up his face
“company supper coming up! you will be in attendance, right (y/n)?”
“it’ll be great fun,” he continued. “we’re planning to head to the library after and tell stories while enjoying a few drinks.”
“no drinks for you though, little sister,” he added as an afterthought, ruffling your hair playfully
kíli now looked at you expectantly, waiting for your response
“oh that sounds great,” you answered after a pause. “what day is it planned for?”
“(y/bday) at 6:00!” kíli answered
you responded without thinking
“oh that’s my birthday! i’ll be turning (y/n/a). huh! with the quest and the battle and everything it must have slipped my mind! anyways, of course i’ll be coming, i can’t wait!”
you looked at kíli to see him frozen in place, a pained expression on his face
“kíli?”
you waved a hand in front of his face “earth to kíli?”
he jerked to life, flashing you a quick smile that looked more like a grimace
“terribly sorry (y/n), but i must be off! i think i heard uncle calling!”
you stared after him for a few more minutes, feeling confused
you definitely did not hear thorin calling
well that was weird
brushing it off, attributing it to kíli just being kíli, you went about the rest of your day as usual
oddly, you didn’t see much of the company that day, or in the rest of the days following
you didn’t see bilbo, dís, or tauriel either
and you usually spent time with at least one member a day
but now they were nowhere in sight
and if you did see them, they would make an excuse and quickly dash away
so by the end of the week you were feeling a little down
you didn’t know what you had done wrong
and you missed spending time with your family
you wondered if maybe dwarves didn’t celebrate birthdays? but even so, they had never avoided you like this before
some unfortunate thoughts came to you
‘maybe now that the quest is over and i can’t be of service in any way, they don’t care about me anymore? maybe i don’t fit in here in erebor?’
your sadness soon mingled with anger, and your anxiety remained
creating an uncomfortable knot in your stomach and a lump in your throat
what did you do to deserve this? they could at least tell you why
you had saved their sorry butts so many times
and when you saw them again, you planned to kick their sorry butts all the way to next tuesday for avoiding you
the day of the company supper (and your birthday) finally came
and despite your anger and confusion, you still decided to go
for multiple reasons
mostly because you wanted to confront them and ask why you had been ignored all week
and you also heard that bombur was making his famous apple tart with raspberry jam
evening came sooner than you realized
you saw that the clock read 5:45 and readied yourself as fast as possible
you quickly dressed yourself in your favorite outfit, pulled a cardigan over it, and ran a brush through your hair
you rushed down the long halls of erebor, keeping your pace quick
you finally turned the corner and came face to face with what had been dubbed as the “company room,” for all the time they spent in it
you felt your hand shake slightly as you grasped the cool metal handle
slowly, you opened the door, preparing to be met with the high, stone walls and rich velvet furniture
but you opened the door to find... nothing?
you squinted your eyes, trying to see into the pitch black room
“hello,” you called out. “thorin? fíli? kíli? is anyone here?”
all of a sudden, the candles and lanterns were lit, and people jumped out from behind furniture and under tables
“SURPRISE,” they yelled. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY (Y/N)!”
you didn’t say anything for a few seconds
you could only stare, dumbfounded, at the people in front of you
everyone was there. the whole company, including bilbo, dís, and tauriel
“w-what?” you tentatively asked. “what is going on?”
kíli piped up, a large smile on his face
“it’s your birthday party!! don’t you like it? we’ve spent all week planning it!”
you took quite a few seconds to look around the room
it was decorated with streamers made of beautiful fabric, and banners hung from the walls
a large pile of wrapped gifts lay in the corner
and in the center of the room was a huge table with a feast fit for a king
as the clocks on the wall continued to tick, you heard dís mutter “kíli if you got the date wrong i swear to mahal...”
you spoke up, “no, no. he’s right. it is my birthday. but... i don’t understand. you guys did all of this... for me?”
bilbo stepped forward, thumbing his suspenders, “why of course! it’s your birthday! we wouldn’t miss a chance to properly celebrate our girl’s birthday.”
“so you guys weren’t avoiding me all week because you think i don’t belong in erebor?” you asked
the room exploded with yells of anger, confusion, and outrage
“why in durin’s name would you think that?” thorin asked after the chaos died down, furrowing his brows in confusion.
“well you guys were avoiding me all week. i didn’t know what to think.”
dori hurried over to you, draping a blanket around your shoulders and steering you towards the couch.
“yes dear, come this way, and we will explain everything. don’t you worry, sweetling,” he soothed.
everyone gathered to find seats around you
kíli shifted uncomfortably on his feet and bit his lip. “i’m so sorry (y/n)! when i found out your birthday was coming up, i felt terrible that we didn’t know sooner, so i hurried to collect everyone and devise a plan.”
ori interjected, a worried frown on his face, “we were all so excited to plan your party, we must have forgotten to keep you distracted.”
“we meant no harm by it,” fíli added.
“aye,” said thorin. “and about that complete and utter nonsense you were spouting earlier: you belong in erebor just as much as any dwarf here. you are our family. and we wanted to celebrate you today.”
of course, you burst into tears
*cue panicked company*
“oh mahal, what did we do now?”
“i bet thorin said something wrong” “shut up dwalin”
“oh no lass, please don’t cry!”
through your sobs, you somehow found your way over to thorin, seeking cuddles
he scooped you up and sat you gently in his lap
you buried your face in his chest, clutching at his tunic with your hands, allowing his scent of smoke and pine trees to wash over you
his large hand rubbed soothing circles on your back as he mumbled assurances
bilbo held and stroked your hand gently
and you felt others reaching out with their own soothing touches
you eventually found yourself at the center of a huge group hug, not that you minded at all
group hugs did seem to be inevitable in this family
through tears, you explained that you were relieved, and so very thankful for the party
you apologized for jumping to conclusions and overreacting, but everyone insisted you had nothing to apologize for
after you eventually calmed down enough, bofur spoke up
“well i think you’ve done enough cryin’ this evenin,’ now haven’t ye’ lass? it is your birthday after all. i say we start the party!”
everyone agreed
as you all found seats at the table, you allowed yourself a moment to admire the spread
bombur had truly outdone himself this time
the table was full of food of all sorts. salted pork, mince pies, all kinds of cheeses, potatoes, biscuits, sausages, meats, and stews.
oh and don’t forget the ale- and lots of it!
you sat and ate until your stomach could handle no more
all the while listening to and telling stories, and laughing as bilbo reprimanded the dwarves’ bad manners
then came dessert
the company insisted to do by “your people’s traditions” and sing you happy birthday.
they were completely off key and didn’t know the tune at all
but it was perfect. it was more than perfect.
you dug into a few small slices of your favorite flavor of cake
fili may or may not have smashed kili’s face into his cake, leading to a wrestling match that had to be broken up by dwalin
after cake, came presents
once you saw all of the boxes, you protested vehemently, insisting you didn’t need all of this
which led into many more speeches preaching that you deserve all of this and more
so with a light blush staining your cheeks, you opened the gifts one by one
they were perfect
- forged by thorin: a sword with various gems emblazoned on the hilt (“so you can properly threaten any suitors you find yourself approached by in the coming months”)
- from bilbo: a handmade handkerchief embroidered with your initials and your favorite flowers (“well this would have come in handy earlier, now wouldn’t it?”)
- from fíli: one of his lucky knives (“see here, you can strap it on your thigh for easy access”)
- from kíli: a poorly knitted bear with one eye sewed on haphazardly (he made it himself, and he tried his best) because you had mentioned missing your stuffed animals before
- from tauriel: miruvor that she acquired from rivendell (for emergency’s- just in case)
- from dís: a quilt with the lonely mountain embroidered on it (“to keep you warm and remind you of home”)
- from balin: a collection of classic dwarven stories in a thick, leather-bound book
- from dwalin: a fluffy fur coat and a pair of gloves (“a wee lass like you will freeze in these winters without proper protection”)
- from ori: a beautiful portrait of yourself
- from nori: hair pins that also function as lock picks (“s’no harm in being careful”)
- from dori: your favorite tea (“a warm cup of tea is both the perfect way to start the day and the perfect way to end the day”)
- from bifur: a beautiful bouquet of flowers, hand picked and arranged by him
- from bofur: an intricate wooden carving of your favorite animal
- from bombur: a bountiful basket of honey cakes, carefully wrapped for future snacking
- from oin: fancy haircare and skincare supplies
- and from gloin: a necklace with a beautiful stone pendant
it was entirely too much, but, as you have come to learn, your family doesn’t do simple
especially when it comes to you
you thanked everyone many times, not knowing how to fully express your gratitude
the night, as kili had promised, followed with many stories and much laughter
and lots of ale
you tried to sneak a sip of thorin’s
AS A JOKE
a joke that he did not find very amusing
you spent the rest of the evening listening to tales of old, your head drooping to rest on tauriel’s shoulder
you recall the night getting darker, the fire slowly burning out, and the laughter becoming quieter
the gentle pressure of a coat being placed on you
and strong arms wrapped around your small frame, pulling you to a warm chest
helping you easily drift off into a peaceful sleep
you woke up in the early morning next day, before the sun had even risen
apparently everyone had become so tired and it was so late that they decided to just sleep in the “company room” for the night
no one had any sense of personal space while they slept not that you minded
you felt arms wrapped around you and draped over your stomach, hands brushing yours, feet propped up on you, and more
all were asleep, save yourself
you sat up slowly, careful not to disturb the others, and took a look around
to soak it all in
to enjoy the moment
snoring dwarves
a hobbit, curled up in a cocoon of blankets
an elf, hugging a pillow close to her chest as she slept
and you, right in the middle of it all
you gave a small smile as you eased yourself back onto the couch
this was peace
this was contentment
this was home

She looked over at Bilbo, who was stirring, and decided it would be a good idea to prepare him a cup of warm tea with some honey and milk. Y/N remembered Bilbo loved this as a child.
So, her next steps took her to the hobbit's kitchen.
Before she stepped inside, Y/N noticed one - perhaps from the older ones - dwarf, who prepared a steaming cup of tea already.
The dwarf didn't seemed to trust her - of course - but his eyes little softened, because she knew Gandalf and Bilbo.
"What tea is that?" Y/N asked instead, genuiely interested.
"Charmomile, for Master Baggins." Y/N hummed and the dwarf quickly left the little hobbit kitchen. You looked around, more concentrated this time. Then, you looked over the hall, pantry, and living room, where was Bilbo, Gandalf and some of the dwarves.
Baggins', now Bilbo's house, has never been un-practical. Maybe for Y/N by it's size, but other than that, there was everything one would need for life.
When Bilbo catched her eyes, Y/N could clearly see he was uncomfortable, upset and absolutely, absolutely done with the subject.
The dwarves.
But most importantly...
Gandalf.
You shrugged, and decided to leave him his burglar-not-burglar game. Bilbo would not be patient forever, but he was mannered and clever enough to know what to do. You were sure the hobbit would feel his Took side with desire for an adventure again.
And take his chance to escape Sackville-Baginses.
As you walked around, you noticed some of the pictures. They seemed to be new - or at least you didn't remembered them.
You walked closer, and stepped on something. You looked down, and noticed it was a dagger. You've never seen the design before, but assumed it must be one of the dwarves'. You picked it up and studied it, when you overheard a voice next to you.
"Careful with this, it's been just sharpened." You turned to see a blonde, blue-eyed dwarf, with braided moustache. He seemed to have the same twinkle in his eyes as Kili.
"I can handle sharp things," Y/N said and looked back at the knife.
"It's nice. Not too light, but not as heavy either." Y/N was thinking aloud. She completely forgot the dwarf next to her, as she studied the dagger.
"You know Master Baggins," He suddenly said. Y/N turned to him.
What the-did he just-
"I do," You nodded, and placed the dagger to his hand.
What the-no, he just didn't-
"You don't look like you are related," he continued.
"That's because we aren't." You ended the topic. Instead, it was your time to ask.
"Who are you?"
"Fili, at your service m'lady," he gently took your hand and kissed the back of your hand, his eyes not leaving yours.
"Y/N, at yours...Fili," You said.
"Oh, Y/N, can I-can I talk to you, for a second?" Bilbo came and you gladly walked aside with him, while Fili send you a wink.
"Bilbo, to answer some of your questions - no, I didn't knew-"
"I'm not talking about the, the dwarves," Bilbo looked over the room with frown on his face.
"Then what is it, my little friend?" You said quietly in attempt to brighten up the situation. Bilbo was almost adorable with frowned pouty face, hands folded on his chest, patting the floor with his foot...only if you could stand straight in his house. Your back thought the size of his house was not adorable at all.
"Well, um...did Gandalf told you to bring them along?" You looked at him with scrunched face, and rolled your eyes.
"I wouldn't be coming if I knew there were dwarves involved. So, if anything, I share your unpopular opinion." And ruffled his hair. He jumped up.
"I'm not a little hobbit anymore, you don't have to do this," Bilbo said through gritted teeth, and you grinned.
"Well, you still are kind of little," You teased him futher, until a dwarf with sharp blue eyes, long, dark hair, and the biggest grumpy and pouty face you've ever seen (not even Bilbo could do that, when he was angy little hobbit).
That dwarf shot you a glare, and also to Bilbo, who was taken aside by him and Gandalf, again.
You felt sorry for Bilbo.
When he was free, you overheard him muttering something about 'surely not going', 'not going anywhere', 'wizards', and so on. You decided to go to sleep, because all of the dwarves were asleep already, and you needed to be up early.
You woken up quickly. The first thing you've heard was the snoring. You scrunched your face, and quickly packed your things. Then, you walked out of Bag End, and decided to wait for them there.
The sunrise was nice time, especially to prepare your horse for the day.
"Shh," you cooed her quietly. It was beautiful mare, tall, and very, very clever.
"It will be okay. We will find dad, and we will go away, to live far away...everything is going to be just fine," You muttered.
"You ready?" Kili stood next to you with a grin on his face. You jumped up a little.
"I am." You said, and noticed Kili's expression as he looked at your horse. You let out a laugh.
"You've never seen a horse before?" Kili walked back a little.
"Not really," he said and you noticed his blushed cheeks.
"Kili!" You both looked over to Fili, standing between two ponies, who called him.
-
"Do you think Bilbo will come?" Kili asked you.
"That hobbit won't show up," Balin said. He was on his pony next to Kili, so he thought he talked to him.
"It's no surprise. Why would Master Baggins leave his home," Thorin (as was the grumpy dwarf named) said.
"I wouldn't understimate hobbits, and especially not Master Baggins," Gandalf said as he smoked his pipe.
"I am sure he is going to come," He said.
And that's when the bet started.
-
It wasn't even five minutes after you left Shire, when you overheard Bilbo's voice in the distance.
"Waaait!"
You looked over to Gandalf, who was hiding a laugh.
"You planned this?" You quietly asked and motioned to the hobbit, who was breathing heavily.
"Well, perhaps," he said, and you scoffed a little and shook your head, as the dwarves seated Bilbo on his pony.
-
The day was beautiful. It was actually quite warm, just warm so you could put down your cloak.
As the evening was approaching, and the sun was setting into palette of gold and velvet, and the sky was getting darker, Thorin decided it was time to set up camp. After a quick argument with Gandalf, the wizard left to seek company of himself. So, there was nothing easier, than to just finding the best place to place your bedroll.
You, Fili and Kili were on first watch. You laid down on your bedroll, and watched the stars. It was cloudless night, plus the crackling sound of fire, and smell of fresh night air was relaxing.
Bilbo was just coming back from his pony, when a sound in distance made him freeze.
"W-what was that?" He pointed to the distance, while looking at Kili.
"Orcs," he said in low, deep voice. You sat up. Bilbo had a part of Took in himself, but he was not that much of a Took.
"There is going to be plenty of those," Fili said, and, obviously, Kili continued.
"They come at night, no screams, just lots of blood," He looked at Bilbo, and the shadows in his face, along with his deep and low voice made it come out horribly scary. Him and Fili started chuckling, but you sighed.
"The way you two snore would make them run for hills, so I wouldn't be that worried," You said, and noticed Bilbo to relax by the corner of your eye.
Kili looked over at you. You pulled out book from your pack. He quickly recognized it, even in the darkness of the night. It was that book you flipped through back in Bag End.
You sat comfortably down, and looked over the illustrations on the pages, and softly touched them.
"What is the book you are reading about, lassie?" Balin asked. You didn't looked up.
"It's a book with tales and stories my...father wrote down," you answered.
"He used to read them to me," you shrugged.
"Would you read some of them-ow, what was that for?!" Kili whisper-yelled at his brother, who chuckled.
"You're a child, Kee," He muttered to himself, and Kili pouted. But Fili was curious as well, which Kili didn't needed to know.
"Well...this one," You flipped a few pages futher.
"This one is called Strange thief and the stars," Y/N comfortably sat and started reading.
"There was once a man. He wasn't very known by name, but by his eyes. His eyes, deep and dark, with sparkles, reminding of stars. Nobody has ever seen eyes like this before, and people were whispering he has stars themselves in his eyes," You slid the tips of your fingers over the drawing, remembering the precision your father has made into repairing them.
"Many women tried to grab his attention, but anytime they didn't sucsceeded, the sparks in their eyes were less visible, but in his as well. And that is why men has decided to call him 'the thief of stars', or a 'strange thief of stars'. He was wandering through the lands, until he found what, as he realized, was looking for,"
"What happened next?" Bilbo asked.
"That girl didn't want to talk to him. She was very kind and caring, but not naive. One day, however, she found a dragon. Big dragon, who seemed scary, but saved her from orcs. The beast's eyes reminded her of someone, yet she didn't knew of whom." You realized everyone was quiet, listening to you, as you spoken.
"The next day, she met the man. He runned into her, in a rush, in a fear - and asked her "Did you see the dragon too?". The young maiden nodded, and helped him to get to safety, as he was very nervous and scared. Since that day, they became closer and closer. One day, when a few years passed, her father - an old, wise and kind man - said, his daughter will marry someone, who gives her something very special. The young man came the next day in their house they lived in. He said," you flipped the page.
" 'I do not have much to offer - gold, silver, or gems - but I do have this," he took out a notebook out of his coat, and offered it. The girl's father took the notebook, and opened it. It was full of drawings of flowers, animals and people - but mainly of one special maiden, when she was laughing, collecting flowers, brushing her hair, cooking, reading...When she came there, and looked throught the book, her father looked at her, and she nodded. So, he looked deeply into the young man's eyes, and said 'She chose you.' "
You finished the story, and Kili giggled at how interested his brother was.
"Now who's the child here,"

The Light Within - (CARE FOR SERIES)
Tumblr media
Pair: Thorin Oakenshield x Healer!Reader (a pretty short one too lol)
Genre: Another majorly angsty LONGGGGGGGG chapter (I am so sorry) with little smidges of fluff again if you squint but barelyyyy any (I’m sorry! I promise it gets better!)
Warning: Very angstyy gore, violence, mentions of rape (no rape), death of character
A/N: With Y/N now far from Thorin, will he be able to regain his senses and stop the orcs from their takeover of his Kingdom? Will these lovers be divided by death? Or will something else prevent them from having their chance?
PREVIOUS (Through The Darkness)
I winced as Gandalf pressed a cold cloth to my neck, the skin now swollen, bruised from Thorin’s violent tossing. The very thought of the dwarf caused tears to rise, a small sob caught in my throat.
Since Gandalf had shepherded me and Bilbo away from the ramparts, Thorin had called on his kin from the Iron Hills, his cousin Dáin, Gandalf had told me specifically. The King turning his back on the battlefield had been the last I had seen of him before being ushered into Thranduil’s tent that had been left unattended.
I looked up at Gandalf, my tears running freely down my cheeks.
‘Oh my dear.’ He said, wiping them away with the curve of his thumb gently. ‘I am so sorry. Your commitment to breaking Thorin out of his stupor, but that sickness runs deep in his family. That dark magic that was set on his grandfather now clutches his heart. And I believe the only one who will be able to break him free now is himself.’
I pushed away the hair that had fallen in front of my face, now covered in muck and dirt from our escape from the battle briefly.
‘That dwarf ... that isn’t Thorin Oakenshield, that’s someone I’ve never seen before. And I know I shouldn’t worry now, and yet it still hurts so much.’
Gandalf’s deep chuckle made me look up, a small smile on his face.
‘That is because you love him, my dear.’
I looked up at him in shock, words faltering as his fingertips grazed the braid that was now revealed my shoulder, the silver bead holding it together glinting in the light of the lantern sitting overhead. I couldn’t help the shaky sigh that left my lips.
‘That I-I do. I do love him Gandalf! I can’t deny it anymore ...’
Gandalf smiled, taking my hands into his. ‘I knew you would find your way to one another. I knew it from the moment you both bickered when you first met. I knew it when you shared that precious moment within the walls of Beorn’s walls.’
I couldn’t stop the chuckle that fell from my lips, even as the tears glided down my cheeks. ‘I never thought you to be an eavesdropper Gandalf!’
He scoffed.
‘I am no such thing my dear! When one wants secrecy, they must do it where no one shall overhear!’
The smile faded as soon as it appeared, shaking my head, ‘Gandalf I can’t give up on him. I can’t leave him behind.’
Gandalf sighed, eyes momentarily flicking to the entrance of the tent where Bilbo stood on watch, screams and shouts of war rising and growing louder by the second. He placed a hand on my cheek gently.
‘Then don’t my dear, stay and hope that that dwarf comes to his senses. And if doesn’t we will find some way to bring him back.’ I nodded with a small smile, squeezing his hand as he got to his feet with a groan. ‘But first we must fight to live another day. Are you ready?’
Glancing down towards my sword, I gripped it, also getting to my feet.
‘More than ever.’
Tumblr media
A cry left my lips as I thrust my sword into the neck of an orc that had fallen to his knees before me, screeching wildly as I withdrew, blood spraying across ground as it collapsed.
Gasping for air, I wiped away the ichor against my pants that stained my hand, leaning against the bridge as I looked over the bloodied field where the chaos raged on between all creatures, armour shining brightly against the harsh sunlight.
The Orcs had descended upon the battle of the elves, humans and the dwarves, taking us all by surprise, their numbers far greater and far more powerful than all three parties combined.
The kingdoms would be ripped apart if they weren’t stopped, and the company that hid within the mountain of Erebor would all but be overthrown.
I turned as Bilbo stood beside me, covered in blood and muck, both of us standing in silence as we watched on. He took my hand in his, voice merely a whisper. ‘Y/N, do you think we will live to see another day?’
I looked to him at this, my eyes wide and glistening before turning away. The very thought of a new day rising after one such as this seemed unlikely, and it frightened me to even hold onto such hopes. Not when all I wanted hid within the mountain, the obsession of gold to strong for him-
Suddenly a deep rumble echoed across the plains, making me turn back towards the battlefield. There, standing upon the great dwarf statue of Erebor, was Bomber, blowing into a large horn.
The makeshift rampart was ripped apart, a magnificent golden bell ringing through the silence that had fallen upon the battlefield, all eyes watching.
Before a familiar Khuzdul battle cry came forth.
I couldn’t stop the loud gasp that had left my lips as Thorin emerged into the sunlight. Cloak and crown gone, instead a sword in hand, running onwards into the fight with the company at his side.
I smiled through the blur of tears as the dwarves began to fight against the orcs alongside the elves and Dain’s army. I looked towards Gandalf with, after so long, a large smile, tears streaming down my face.
‘They’re fighting back-Gandalf, their fighting back.’
He looked over us towards the mountain, his face instantly turning from a scowl to a small smile full of hope, almost like a child, ‘They’re rallying their king! There may be hope for us yet.’
However, that small bit of hope was stamped out when a raven flew over head, landing before me only moments later. I unclasped the note from around it’s foot, hurriedly unrolling it.
‘Gandalf.’
He turned at my firm tone, making his way towards me along with Bilbo.
‘Legolas sends word that Azog has another army attacking!’
‘From where? Where my dear?’
A chill ran down my spine as I read the messy elven handwriting, looking up towards the wizard. ‘From the North, right towards Ravenhill.’
Gandalf huffed, eyes wide in horror before looking towards the hilltop where the dwarves had headed for. ‘We must warn Fili, Kili and the others. If we don’t they’ll be in great danger once they enter the depths of Ravenhill. Bilbo, you know what to do.’
Bilbo nodded and set off immediately, disappearing into the crowd. But as I went to follow, Gandalf grabbed my shoulder, shaking his head.
‘Not you my dear! You’ll take another route, and more importantly to Thorin. If it’s anyone he needs at his side right now, it’s you’
I nod at this before following him, fighting alongside him through the oncoming hoards of orcs before he led me to a group of eagles cawed as they fought of those who dared to attack, throwing them over the ramparts.
Gandalf, leading me over to the largest of the group, gave me a boost up onto  the great creature. ‘Keep your head down and your heart full of courage. Get to Thorin and warn him of the oncoming dangers that are coming but be careful. I don’t want to lose my one good apprentice.’
I stared down at the wizard with a smile, shaking my head.
‘Oh Gandalf, didn’t you know that getting into trouble is what I’m famous for?’
With one last smile towards me along with a nod, Gandalf raised his staff towards the eagle that let out a shriek before lifting off in flight, the rushing of wind welcoming me into its arms as I clung to the eagle’s beautiful feathers.
As we rose above the clouds, I could only pray that we would make it to the hill, and hope we were not too late.
Tumblr media
The ride to Ravenhill was a lot more dangerous than I had anticipated, on our descent the frost becoming like sharp glass against my skin, the eagles shrieking as they forced themselves through the storm.
Through the fray of white, I sighted the peaks of the blackened ruins of Ravenhill, a ripped flag flailing in the winds violently, the howl of the wind echoing across the hilltop.
I gripped my sword tightly, tightening my group as the eagle flew down towards the towers, giving me time to slip down before it took off to join its pack, continuing to circle above.
Without a moments hesitation, I ran across the the length of the tower, careful of the mounds of snow that covered the path before reaching the crumbled window only to gasp in horror. Looking out over the frozen lake, I instantly recognised the dwarf that staggered across the ice, a towering one armed Orc trailing after him with a chained brick weapon, swinging it towards him.
Thorin, now holding the beautifully elven crafted sword Orchrist, shining in the light of the rising sun, standing his ground against the pale Orc who roared.
I ran down the first set of stairs I came across, down torn corridors and passages, before I slid across the frozen lake towards the duel. With Azog’s back turned to me, I easily found an open, slipping my sword across his side, slicing through the pale skin.
I scurried backwards as the ugly beast reared its head towards me, along with his brick and chain, just catching the ice where I had just moments before stood upon.
‘Y/N?!’ I glanced towards Thorin, and couldn’t stop the brief smile that broke across my face only to shriek as a brick came hauling at me, barely missing me this time. ‘Foolish girl! Leave now!’
‘I’m not leaving you! Not again!’ I screamed, dodging Azog’s sworded up, once again slashing him across the same wounded side, making him shriek, his black blood spilling out across the ice.
I ran to Thorin, the dwarf catching me in his arms as I slipped. I gripped him tightly, regaining my breath as I looked up at him.
‘W-We have to leave! Ano-Another army is set to attack from the North!’
His eyes widened in horror. ‘What?!’
‘Please, we must leave now before it’s too late-’
I gasped at the abrupt shrill high call of the Orc horn I had knew far too well, both of us turning to see the sight of a dark shadowed mass marching over the hill. Shaking my head, Thorin grasped my hand tightly as Azog dragged himself to his feet, growling.
But through all the pain he felt, the monster still smirked, swinging the chained brick high above his head before slinging it towards us, both parting instantly to avoid it.
We circled him, almost working as one as the Orc looked between us, snarling, thrashing his weapon around, all to be in vain, only to become lodged into the thick layer of ice.
It was only when Azog’s gaze became altered over our shoulders I couldn’t help but take a glance, only to shriek as a group of much larger, magnificent and proud as they flew straight towards the oncoming army. And I couldn’t help but chuckle at the small figure of Radogast that sat comfortable upon one of the eagle.
However, it was a moment that had distracted me for far too long, a unexpected sharp pain ran up my side, a scream leaving my lips as Azog swung his sworded arm across me, sending me to my knees. I bit down on my lip hard, trying to crawl away as the towering behemoth laughed aloud.
But as he raised the sworded appendage above my head, he was stopped by Thorin as it came down, who thrust his whole body weight against Orchrist, sending Azog backwards.
Dropping his sword and with all his might, Thorin threw the bricked chain back towards the Defiler, the creature tipping backwards and disappearing fast beneath the water.
It was once the silence fell over us I let out a loud sigh, tears of earnest falling. I whimpered as arms wrapped around me carefully, bringing me to my feet. I smiled up at Thorin, even as he scowled, shaking his head.
‘You foolish woman! Yo-You came back! After everything that happened-After everything I did you came back!’
I laughed softly, pressing a hand to his cheek, heart soaring as he leant into my cheek, nuzzling against my palm. ‘That wasn’t you. I knew you would come back to me, I just had to be there when you needed me.’
Tears glazed his eyes as the first real smile I had seen in months, drawing me close to press a kiss against my forehead. I leant my head against his chest, a tired but joyous smile upon my lips.
It was over, the war was over.
I peaked my eyes open, only to gasp in horror at the sight of Azog beneath our feet, that same dangerous smile painted across his features.
A scream wrenched itself from Thorin, his grip painfully tight on my waist. Looking down in horror to see the familiar blade that belonged to Azog’s arm. Only to be thrown from the warm embrace as the shriek and crackle of ice, landing on the hard frozen lake.
I looked up in time as Azog leapt up out of the ice, sending Thorin to the ground, barely pulling out his sword to stop the jagged metal from piercing his chest, arms shaking uncontrollably, barely able to hold his own against the towering Orc.
I shakily got to my feet, gripping my sword before running at him, screaming as I drove my sword deep into Azog’s chest, a guttural, bloodied gasp leaving his lips before I pulled him off of Thorin. With him staring up at me, I swung my sword down, once more pushing deep into the already gaping wound in his chest.
And as the light faltered in his eyes, I spat. ‘Burn in hell, filth.’
Without sparing a moment, I dropped to Thorin’s side, my hands clasping his face.
‘Thorin can you hear me? Are you okay?’
‘Y-Y/N ...’
I smiled as he gripped my hand, only for it to fade at the scarlet that covered his hand. Looking down I noticed the wound in his chest, the tunic he wore beneath his coat soaked in blood.
‘Oh lord Mahal-’ I whistled as loud as I could, looking up into the skies where the eagles continued to circle, their dark shadows passing amongst the cloud. Suddenly, I coughed violently, leaning away from Thorin, wiping at my mouth, only to find blood.
‘No no no-’
Again I whistled, body shaking as I looked around. A hand pressed against my cheek, gasping as Thorin looked up at me, a gentle smile on his lips.
‘It-it’s alright my dear one, it’s alright-’
I shook my head, pressing a firm kiss to his hand. ‘No no no Thorin. You are going to live! You will not die this day, you’ve just gotta stay awake for me, alright?’
‘I feel so sleepy ...’
I held back a sob, squeezing his hand. ‘I know, Thorin, I know but you have to keep your eyes open! Help is coming! Y-You made me promise you that we would try-that we would try a hand at us! You’ve gotta stay awake-’
However as the words left my lips, his eyelids slid closed, the grip faltering on my cheek as tiredness over took his entire body.
‘Thorin don’t you dare close your eyes!’ I cried, gripping his cheek while the other hand pressed down on his wound, trying to stem the blood that flowed over my fingertips. I looked around once again, screaming into the smoke that rose over the frozen peaks of the waterfall.
‘SOMEBODY HELP US! PLEASE SOMEBODY?!’
I screamed, and screamed, and screamed.
Even when my voice became hoarse, I still screamed at the top of my lungs.
Even as blood spilt down my clothes, I still cried out weakly.
And even as the shadows crept across my vision as I lay beside my unconcious lover, and the blurred outline of a figure came into view, I whimpered.
‘H-Help us ...’
Tumblr media
I groaned as I opened my eyes, blinded by the piercing light that entered through the overhead windows. Slowly I sat up, gasping in pain that filled my side, and then I remembered.
The war, Azog. And Thorin.
I rushed to get out of bed, shakily getting to my feet only to fall foward towards the stone floor. However I didn’t make impact, held up by Kili.
‘What are you doing Y/N?! I’ve known you for being an early riser but you must stay in bed! Oin has commanded it!’
I gripped his arm as he helped me sit back on the soft mattress, sighing at the pounding in my head. Once blurring in my vision had faded, I really took in the scene around me to realise we were within the halls of Erebor.
Dwarves and dwarrodams with medical pouches walked through the aisles, standing beside other injured soldiers, a calmness settled over the entire room that we hadn’t felt for months. I looked back up towards him with a small smile.
‘It’s over isn’t it?’
He was hugging me before I could even register it, a small hiccup of pain leaving me before I wrapped my arms around him, holding him close. I ran a hand through his hair, chuckling-or a sobbing-I couldn’t even tell.
‘Oh thank Mahal you’re alright!’
‘The others are too.’ I couldn’t help but relax against him at his words, pulling away to look at him up and down, inspecting him carefully.
‘And you are not hurt?’
‘A few bruises and cuts, every soldier must to be able to tell the tales of war!’
I smiled, but once again thought back to the dwarf I had gone on that desperate mission to save. I gripped Kili’s hand painfully. ‘And Thorin? Is he-’
‘Alive and healing thanks to you.’
I sighed, this time an even greater weight lifting from me. Tears of relief rose in my eyes, looking up at the young dwarf who smiled down at me.
‘May I-’
‘Of course you can. Just don’t tell Oin I’m going against his orders taking away from your time of resting!’
Once dressed in my clothes, which I found had been washed and dried, felt clean against my skin, Kili led me to Thorin’s chambers. More like carried me, taking on most of my body weight to avoid leaning on my right side. I couldn’t help but smile at other dwarves and dwarrodams we passed, earning many in return.
We all had fought for this victory, and free of the Orc’s reign of darkness. Now we could finally smile without the fear of dying on the morrow.
We reached an ornate corridor, adorned with gold and jewels across the walls from roof to the marble floors, and at the very end I could see two guards guarding a large oak door, much different to the room Thorin had taken when ill under the dragon sickness.
There were two other dwarves standing before the entrance, chatting amongst themselves, turning to us as we arrived. With the door slightly ajar, I squinted, looking past the shoulders of the dwarves to see a Thorin, cleaned, bandaged, and peacefully resting,
‘We are here to visit the King-’
The door was shut with a slam, Kili cut off by the one who looked the oldest, his pointed nose raised to us and voice firm. ‘No one is to enter these chambers besides the King’s healer or advisors!’
The Prince scoffed. ‘Do you know who you’re talking to? I am King Thorin’s nephew, I am his kin and I order you to allow us in to see the King!’
‘I know who you are laddie, and I certainly know who this woman is.’
Why did it seem that everyone knew me before I knew them?
I looked toward the dwarf with a raised eyebrow. ‘And who do you think I am?’
He smirked. ‘Word of you reached Ered Luin long before the company of Thorin Oakenshield even reached the cusp of our homeland. Must’ve been a good offer you made our King to join such a company-’
‘I offered my skills-’
‘And much more I think.’
I stared down the second dwarf, cringing inwardly at the ugly smile he sent my way as he looked me up and down, a stare I wasn’t unfamiliar with.
I pushed off of Kili, now nose to nose with him. ‘Watch your tongue-’
‘And you will watch yours missy. You are nothing than a common woman with no title, no family, and nothing to give to this King, or this kingdom. And if word gets out that the King has fallen for a human? Oof, you better run further than the hills. You wouldn’t last a day-’
‘Is that a threat?’
‘No, it’s merely a warning! Because you will be ruined either way, whether you are dead, or defiled beyond reprieve.’
My gut churned at his words, an anger I hadn’t felt in a very long time burning inside me, the memories of my time as a prisoner at the hands of the orcs sweeping through my mind. Everything they had done to me, the way they tied me down, ripped my clothes off, and did nothing but violate me.
Kili, who hadn’t noticed my state, stepped forward in a rage. ‘How dare you speak of her in such a way! You are nothing but cowards! She saved the King’s life-’
‘Then that is her job done innit? Hurry along and find someone else to travel along with, maybe you’ll find some new purpose for yourself, become someone else’s bitch-’
I didn’t remain to hear the rest of the cruel dwarf’s words. Breathing uneven, tears streaming down my face, I ran through the halls, letting the calls of my name that rang out behind me fall deaf upon me.
It felt like everything was spinning, blurred as I fell against a wall, catching my breath, the taste of iron on my tongue. I gripped the marble beneath my nails, as if it would ground myself to reality, distract me from the images of the laughing orcs who had held me down, to dissolve the ugly smiles and laughter that erupted from them once they were finished.
‘Y/N? You silly woman, why are you out of bed? You should be resting! Your wound is bleeding again!’
My eyes shot open at the sight of Gandalf, standing tall over me. Almost instantly, the sternness in his features creased into worry, taking my face into his hands carefully, wiping away the tears.
‘Breathe my dear, breathe.’
I gasped, inhaling as much air as I could, gripping the wizards arms as sobs left me. With the shaking not ceasing, I looked back up towards Gandalf, tears still trekking down my face.
‘Please take me away from here Gandalf-’
‘Why? What has happened?’
I shook my head. ‘I can’t stay here, I-I can’t be here when Thorin wakes up. Please! Take me away from here!’

Bofur x reader | Reciprocation
Summary: Bofur teaches the reader how to whittle and begins to flirt with her. She, however, doesn't know how to respond so Bofur thinks she isn't interested.
"So, lass, that's how ye do it." Bofur said after showing you how to whittle a bird out of wood.
"Alright then," You said while trying to whittle your own bird, but it just looked like a misshapen wooden block you could find out in the nature. "Ah, lass, don't ye worry about, practice makes perfect."
"I guess that's true," you said while still staring at the mutated wooden block, "well we got enough time to practice, don't we?"
"Aye that we have."
~~~
After Bofur taught you the basics of whittling you kept yourself busy by whittling whenever you had free time. You wanted to make something for Bofur as a token of appreciation, but everything you made wasn't good enough for a gift.
"So beautiful, I see your practicing," Bofur said as he plopped down next to you (lmao I almost wrote plooped).
"Ah yes, it keeps me busy," you answered with a light blush.
The flirting started after that night, Bofur complimenting you and making you blush and shy.
The sun could never outshine your smile.
You are more beautiful than Mahal's jewels.
The compliments were endless, but you were too shy to say anything in return so you ducked your head and blushed.
But one day Bofur's behaviour changed, as in, he didn't say anything to you and he avoided you. It hurt you so much your heart clenched. You had gotten attached to the sweet and friendly dwarf.
The Company looked disappointed and acted a bit gruffer and colder towards you. Bombur wasn't as friendly anymore and looked a bit sad towards you and you began to suspect it might be something with Bofur. Did you do something wrong? Probably...
While you were getting stressed by the Company's behaviour towards you, your whittling skills bettered and you thought it would be enough to finally make a gift. Unbeknownst to you, in dwarven culture it is seen as a courting ritual.
While walking you stayed in the back hoping to find good wood for your gift, hoping the dwarves in front of you wouldn't notice. The hobbit however noticed and knew what you were planning because you confided in him. Bilbo explained it might have been your lack in reaction whenever Bofur complimented you. After a while you find a good piece of wood and keep it in your pocket.
In the evening you sat away from everyone so you had privacy. You whittle a little wooden pickaxe (he told you of his mining days) and made it a necklace by tying it on a leather strip.
The next day you wanted to corner Bofur so when he went to gather wood you silently sneak after him. Trying to avoid any twigs or pointy branches you followed him deeper in the forest.
A twig snaps beneath you and he turns around, his eyes widened as he saw you. Bofur avoided your eyes and tried to walk away from you.
"Wait, Bofur", you run to catch up with him.
As you make eye contact, your heart breaks when you see the cold look in his eyes. You immediately grab the necklace out of your pocket and present it to him. You were scared he was going to avoid you and you weren't going to get another chance anytime soon.
"I do not know what I did to make you avoid me, so I wanted to make something for you to show that I-I'm sorry for w-whatever I-I did," you said as your emotions got the best of you, you felt like a part of you died the first time Bofur just sidestepped you and the rest of the Company glared at you when they thought you couldn't see them.
You looked at your feet and picked on the ends of your coat, too afraid of his reaction. Warmth filled your face from embarrassment and tears began to burn in your eyes. You just wanted things to go back to normal.
"Lass...," Bofur began, "do ye know what ye just did?"
You looked up to see a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Uhh, I- uh no?" You said extremely confused, tears brimming the corners of your eyes.
"Well, ye just asked me to court ye, lass, it's a dwarven courting custom," Bofur said chuckling a bit.
"A-ah uhm..." You were at a loss for words and beyond embarrassed.
"Don't worry, ye didn't know, so it won't mean what ye don't want it to mean," the hatted dwarf said after seeing you struggle to find the words, "I know ye don't want to court this ol' dwarf." He added that while looking a bit sorrowful, you noted.
"N-no, that's not it, I want to court you-, "you stuttered out before you could stop yourself, "A-ah uh I mean uh-"
As your face felt hot from embarrassment you dropped your head and covered your eyes. Tears threatened to pour down your face as you felt your arm being pulled away from your face.
The toy-maker gazed adoringly in your eyes as he put a hand on your cheek. "Then what is it?" He asked with a soft voice and a mildly teasing grin as he figured out your secret.
Tears began to form in the corner of your eyes. "I missed you..." You muttered while looking in his hazel eyes. The dwarf smiled brightly as he wiped away some stray tears on your face.
"Did my flirting make ye uncomfortable, lass?" The sweet dwarf asked with concern, "I thought ye didn't like me 'cause..."
Knowing exactly what he was talking about you cut him off.
"Bofur... I just didn't know how to react to your flirty comments. I was really flattered and all but please don't let my social ineptitude stop you from flirting with me...," you said desperately while grabbing his hands.
"Alright, my beautiful gem," Bofur said with his gaze full of adoration and love which made you blush, "so... I know how I feel about ye so I'll just say it now. I love ye more than there are stars in the skies and I wan' to properly court ye so that I can wake up with ye in my arms tonight. Will ye let this old dwarf court ye, lass?"
"Yes," you said with the brightest smile you could muster, "I love you too Bofur, with my whole heart."
"Will you let me braid your hair?"
Remembering Balin's words as he once explained Dwarven braids, you were elated to hear thos words from Bofur.
"Of course, Bofur," you said as you thought nothing could destroy the happiness you felt in that moment.
Hello there.
Kili x reader x obi-wan(slightly)
Tumblr media
(Not my image)
Summary: Annoying the company with your 'sword'  pretending it's not a metal sword, being unladylike. When in fact it wasn't a sword...it was a lightsaber.
Word count:6036
Warnings: Obi-wan , language, food stealing, dwarf nudity, put some clothes on!
Y/h/c= Your home country.
It was no secret, that you weren't from middle earth, with your strange speech, strange references, oh and the simple fact that you had fallen from the sky knocking Kili right out. Not just Kili but yourself before. You would've been quite embarrassing; if you were awake. Lucky you.
When you eventually you did awake, you were surrounded by below average height men , and man with a grey hair and wizards hat. One of the smaller men? Or dwarf you weren't sure if this was even real, it was strange to see such shorter men. His hair dark, shoulder length, not styled well compared to all the others, as for his beard..it was just stubble. The other men had long braided beards.
Yet there sat this man, very different to the others , barely with it, like he had hit his head, there you felt it , your head felt like your brain was going to pop out. You noticed , a smaller fellow jumping behind the small man to see, his curly blond her upon his head, was all to be seen.
The man that looked right out of a wrestling ring, glared at you , judging you, as did the one with ocean eyes and majestic hair. You hands behind you in the dry dirt, your heart beating heavily, shaking almost. "Uhm, w-what is h-" you didn't even get a sentence out before you were interrupted by the beardless short man.
"Well you fell out of the sky and fell on me, knocking me straight out." The man was not quite happy, "uhm, I guess I'm sorry? I didn't plan from falling from the sky, I'll try next time to see where I'm falling, but oh right, I never consented to be thrown from the sky, last time I was conscious I was- actually I do not remember." Blabbering on, even though really you should be terrified.
In the end , Gandalf and Thorin questioned you, as if they were Holt and Terry, Gandalf being Terry.
"Where do you come from, human?" The mans face frowning, the same as he had as you awoke, he spoke with sternly, as if you were a threat. Extremely intimidating. Now the others had left ,as you now sat in front of the two men.
"Uh, y/h/c." Their clothing didn't sit right with you, nor did you ever see anyone with such extreme hair styles. Maybe it was a cult?  The old man , and the slightly younger man looked at each other , then back to you , clearly confused, well the younger one anyways.
"Tell me dear, have you ever heard of Erebor?"
Thus, for whatever reason you were apart of this dwarven company, as it were.  No one was sure what in gods earth caused you to be here, well there's no 'God' in middle earth, not called God anyways.
Honestly, you didn't know what to do with yourself: no blankets, no spare clothes, no nothing except you , your thin graphic t-shirt, jeans and shoes.  Thorin was definitely no help, oh yes and no money. Who would accept plastic notes as currency here? Nor were coins from where you lived were made from gold.
Oh wait you did actually have something other than you and your clothes , you had tiny little sword, which was in fact just an letter opener, you must've been opening the post before you fell out of the sky.
Not only was it awkward between you and all the dwarves, you did not fit in. Oh yes, Gandalf explained to you that elves and wizards existed, basically explained everything. Thorin had decided this was the place they would rest for the night, so you didn't have to do any travelling... except from falling out of the sky.
You could only think, it must suck to shit squatting, oh yes you'd have to face shitting the forest soon enough... without toilet paper too. It is not even like you can be certain that no one is going to walk into the forest and find you shitting or even worse no pads bleeding out.
You were definitely not looking forward to that,  since there was no confirmation that you'd be getting home anytime soon.
So, now as the day grew dark, you sat against a large rough pine tree, the cold from the ground rising up your body. Knees pulled right up to your chest, your arms tight around, as goose bumps covered you like paint covers a wall. Hair dropping down your face as you leaned forward head on top of your knees.Staring at your feet, and the ground.
You thought on what your family must think, maybe it was like the labyrinth and they had forgotten that you had even existed. Bloody hell, Jareth, you didn't even wish for this to happen.
Not breaking out of thought when three pairs of boots, and a pair of overly large hair feet, were stood in front of you.  "Lass?"  Even then, you didn't realise, only noticing their presence when a hand was placed onto your shoulder.
Only then did you realise, looking up to see the the beardless man that you knocked out, somehow, another man with a hat , the other below average height man that looked like lion cross Seth rogen , and the jumping small fellow. "O-oh hi?"   Strange that's the only way you could put it, the two brunettes grinning largely down at you.
"Excuse their bad manners, my lady. That is Kili, my brother , Bofur, and this little fellow is Bilbo Baggins... Oh right, and I am Fili at your service." Each of them doing a little bow, Bilbo's face redden a little , being called little. What did he expect, 'Oh yes, this giant fellow with the fat ass is Bilbo.'  Them staring at you waiting for you to introduce yourself.
"Uh, I'm y/n."  Standing up , daring to do a small curtsey, with a small blush, surprised really that anyone had even approached you.
"Beautiful name, perfect, I guess I'm falling for you already, miss y/n , you know since you knocked me out."
You almost blushed at the m-Kili's words, now blushing in embarrassment. "I didn't me-" "he's only messin' with yer, lass, don't yer worry," The hatted dwarf know as Bofur had smiled at you, only to get a jab in the side by kili, only for him to return it twice as hard.
"I'm sorry, miss y/n? I'm just wondering about your clothing-" Bilbo had began to questions your clothing choice, only to be interrupted, bad manners? Definitely. "Yes, those pants are very lovely, can you do a spin-" "OI," A big muscly man, the one that had glared at you earlier had smacked the beardless dwarf on the back of his head, letting out a Yelp of pain.
"What I was going to say, before I was rudely interrupted was, are you not cold? You are barely dressed!" You had choked out a snort, at the hobbit , who had glared at Kili, he really did not like dwarves interrupting, well anyone, he's not racist.
"I'm not dressed? You've got no socks on! My mum would have scolded me, even if I just got out of the bath. 'Y/n, where's your socks! You are going to get ill! Y/n, I don't care if you have just sat down, go get your bloody socks on.' "  Starring back at you feet, now stretched across the mud, it was incredibly awkward, well until they had started laughing.
"That's just like our Amad, right, fee?" Kili had called to his brother, before sitting down on the mud near you. "Oh yes, remember when Amad told you not eat all that cake-" Looking over to Kili who's face flushed red, interrupting his brother.
"Don't you dare."  Bofur , Fili and Bilbo sat down,  you sat in a circle, Fili trying to hold back from laughing. "Well ye gotta tell us now,Fili." Bofurs hand supported his head eager for Fili to continue. Bilbo the same, he loved stories.  Kili's pleading eyes, were no match for his brother.
"Alright, so he ate all the cake, this stuff was heavily creamed, sweets covered it, it could feed 12 dwarves, that's saying a lot. Our Amad strictly told us, mostly Kili, not to eat it."
Fili's moustache braids jiggled as he talked, very distracting, letting out a small chuckle while talking a breath.  "Anyways, Amad woke up in the morning, she was not happy at all, she had yelled so loud, that me, Kili, and Thorin were awoken from upstairs. All three of us rushed down the stairs, to see the table with no cake, just the plate. Amad  stood there with her face redder than a smacked bosom, hands on her hips."
Kili face now in his hands, Fili grinning larger and larger by the second. " She had looked all three of us done, before calling Kili towards him, and it was dreadfully obviously his hair had cake crumps throughout it, he got scolded so bad."
"Is that it ," Bilbo was disappointed with the outcome, he had thought it would've been more suspenseful. "No master Baggins, Thorin later took us for training with Dwalin as well as many other viewers. Basically what happened was Dwalin threw him over his head and he landed on the floor, when he finally tried to stand up he let loose the loudest wet fart.  Then, he stood up and the back of his pants were covered, and out the ends of his trousers... he had to walk home like that."
Bursts of laughter had erupted through the circle, Kili just looked horrified with his brother, placing your hand on his shoulder, causing him to look up to you, with a sad smile.
"Don't feel bad, someone I knew yawned up to the sky and a bird shat in her mouth, to make matters worse she was afraid to tell anyone so she spat it out, and stood there with bird shit taste."
Looking at you wide eye,  "T-they did what?"
"A bird shat in their mouth."
"Such crude language, yet suddenly I feel much better." Kili smiling up to you, the other three still laughing about Kili's shitty pants.
A friendship between you and the dwarf ,you knocked out, began. Over the months you had gotten more comfortable with the company.
Soon enough you were all captured by trolls, but you were sleeping so, you woke up and everyone was packing to leave. You were very confused indeed, Thorin had announced that you all were leaving for a troll cave.
Gandalf had merged after Thorin with two swords , calling you and Bilbo over. Wow, free stuff.
What Gandalf had not expected was your behaviour later on at Rivendell... Bathing and changing at Rivendell, eating some rabbit food, it was soon time for second dinner and after that bed.
Roaming the grounds of Rivendell the next month, you had bumped into Bilbo. That's when it started, you had already been messing with your sword. When Bilbo had approached you, seeing your cheeky grin he didn't know whether to run.
"M-morning ,miss y/n?" Speaking uncertain of himself, partly nervous,  you had been pretty unpredictable, you know falling out the sky?
"Morning ,Bilbo!  How are you feeling?"  Swinging your sword in like it was baton or baseball bat, almost dropping flat on your face.
"I'm fine , thank you. Uh..." The sword now between your legs, swinging it around. "Bilbo look, it's my cock." Bilbos face now red, your crude language tended to fluster the poor hobbit, sorry the rich hobbit.
"Miss y/n, I do not think that's quite appropriate.."   You head snapping towards the hobbit, your face dropped, instantly Bilbos mouth is gapped. "Oh- I didn't mean any offence." Taking a step forward, Bilbo had stepped back , another and another.
Bilbo had ended up sprinting , you chasing him, well until an elf had offered you pastry's. Continuing your walk around the grounds, munching on your pastry, distracted by your breakfast you didn't notice the dwarf in front of you until the last second.
"Where's your trousers?!"  You had made eye contact with something other than his eyes, it was painfully obvious. Meeting his actual eyes, the smirk on his face, concluded that he had seen you check him out, flushed pink cheeks.
"Fili took my clothes."
"Why would he want to see you running around naked,-cover up gosh!" Your voice getting higher by the second.
"Well, my lady with what?" You had thrown your pastry at the dwarf, now quite put off; even though his size was quite large. Instead covering himself he began to eat the remaining amount of the pastry.
You had scoffed, walking around the dwarf, away from his naked body.
What did catch you off guard again was a  man popping out from a pillar , his longish hair blond, his eyes ocean blue, his beard trimmed, his shirt beige , with a brown leather belt around his waist. You didn't know how to describe it, you jumped when he spoke.
"Hello there,"
How could be here? In a land of dwarves, elves and wizards? It was Obi-wan Kenobi, surely he should've been in the high ground? I mean, chopping some legs...so Anakin is leg a less, because his legs Aragorn.
"General Kenobi!" Kili had to turned around, to see you running at a strange man, who was General Kenobi, turning back round he had stomped off back to the company... to gossip.
"What are you doing here, Obi-wan?" His arms held behind his back as you two walked through Rivendell together, the truth was that you had never met before.
"I'm here because of you, y/n...the Council has sent me to help you. The universe is in great danger, again."
Then, you found out your real purpose was in middle earth; to save the line of Durin, With Obi-wan Kenobi as your master you as the pad awan. However, of course you did not have the force, he was just going to teach you how not to be damsel in distress.
You didn't know how this would bring you so close to the Jedi knight..
Obi-wan, had hid until half a day from Rivendell, when you had gestured him to come out, Kili had let out the most over dramatic gasp possible. "I told you he was real!"
That definitely caught the attention of the whole company, stopping, turning , drawing there weapons, Fili pulling you out the way.
"Why are you following us?" Thorins voice boomed over the winds, you couldn't imagine how your eardrums would certainly burst if he had a microphone. Getting of the grips of the dwarves again, standing between Obi-wan and the axes of the company.
Little Bilbo just watched the slope of the mountain with amusement. "What are you doing, y/n?!"
"You stubborn dwarves, if I was walking with him with no fuse, you'd think that he was with me, he's here to help me." Kili had scoffed, nor did any of other dwarves look convinced, Obi-wans hands on his hips, puffing his chest, revealing his lightsaber.
"I've had enough, I don't care what you say Thorin, he is my protection, he's not taking any of the reward, now let's go, he is not the enemy." Maybe you told a small lie, it would not go down well if Thorin knew Obi-wan was there to protect him and his nephews.
"At the front, both of you, now." And you were walking again, you and Obi-wan at the front.
Though, all together you were from three different universes, you from one which starwars was just a set of films, and series. It felt weird. Knowing he died, old, and he didn't look himself.
"Wait, so, Qui-Gon basically died of STDs, because he so many that it slowed him down? I thought it was a rule not have attachments; but he could sleep around?" I mean, if that's the case... you are very handsome, I'm not the best looking, nor have I ever.."
Your face felt hot, that was more than light flirting, really you had only known him for 27 hours, your crush on him though, that developed from watching him on screen.
Now concentrating on where you were going, surprised when Obi-wan had let out a laugh.
"My lady, you must be mistaken, you are absolutely beautiful." Your face flushed pink, wrapping your arm around Obi-wan's arm, his eyes watched you as you did, not hilding hands or anything just his arm. There are times in life when words are not needed.
Soon enough it was time to stop, when the company approached a large path on the mountain, so big that the company could sit in a circle if they desired. Along the way many of the dwarves had collected sticks and branches for a fire.
Right against the mountain wall you had set up your bed roll, and dropped your cloak from the elves on it as a blanket, you were sure to remember to share with Obi-wan later.  Obi one had copied you, dropping his cloak neck to yours, as you both stood next to each other, the sky now dark, the smell of dinner lingered in the air.
The glow of the fire lit up Obi-wan's face, his beard now more orange, his blue eyes focused on you.
"Hey, um, Obi-wan...can I hold your lightsaber?"  His hands on his beige tunic, eyeing you down, one of a second, before handing you the weapon.
The lightsaber, heavy in your hands, yet still you were swinging it like you were playing tennis on the wii. "Um, Obi, can I please..?"  Turning to face the Jedi with pleading eyes, he just shrugged his shoulders casually nodding.
With that you had pressed the button, there stood the blue blade in front of your very eyes. Bilbo had noticed almost immediately spitting out his food, who in their right mind would give her a weapon?
Noticing Bilbos sudden uncomfortableness, grinning at him, as the saber made its way between your legs. "Hey Bilbo,Check out how big my dick is!" Bilbo had put his bowl of food down, and his behind Thorin, brooding.
"Uhm, lass? What is that?" Bofur wearily, spoke, eyeing the saber not blinking,like many other dwarves. Balin flinching as you waved it between your legs.
"It's a lightsaber, the weapon of Jedi's. Hey, Kili, sorta looks like your dick ,if it was a hundred times smaller. " Not that you were looking at Kili, his face flushed as he chocked out his stew, Thorins eyes burning into the back of the head, he would speak to him later.
"Oi, when did you get a look at Kees , lad?" Fili wan most  amused at the situation, Kili knocking him in the ribs.
"Well , what happened was I got a pastry at Rivendell, and Kili almost whacks into me. Yeah, and he was naked, so, not that I like to give away food, I throw the pastry at him and Obi-wan appears and saves me. End of story."
Now swinging the lightsaber like it was a golf club, you wondered if Obi-wan had to charge his lightsaber.  Kili now standing up , walking over to you as the dwarves forget about the story, simply because it wasn't rare that they went around naked.
"Oi, Kili , throw that stick at me, so I can hit it."
Kili had planned on telling you a piece of his mind, how his dick was not small, but there you were not a care in the world, waiting for him to pick up the stick.
His eyes searched the stone floor when his eyes catch, a thick stick not a twig. Without a thought he threw it, your eyes waiting, standing like you were going to play baseball or rounders. Swinging your arm slicing through the stick, causing it to slam to the floor in two separate pieces.
"I'm sorry, but what in middle earth is a Jedi and why do they have that, what even is that!"
Obi-wan just stood by you chest puffed, huge smirk on his face, as Kili ranted slightly , fear embedded in his eyes as he stood back as you swung the weapon around more, it was not surprising that the company were also in slight shock.
"This man is a Jedi." Pointing at Obi-wan before turning fully towards him, ignoring the others questions. "Okay, now teach me, master..." A grin across your face, as Obi-wan took the saber from your hands, turning it off, before standing behind you.
Turning your back into place, your feet in the correct stance, his back against yours as ushered you take your sword from his hands.  His hot breath briefly against your neck. Once you had done, his back peeled from yours, and he had done the same.
Throughout the next months, Obi-wan had continued to teach you how to defend yourself
, Kili always disagreeing on Obi-wand methods, suggesting he would be better to teacher you.
That was until you were all captured at Mirkwood. Of course, Obi-wan tried to use the force on the elves, however , due to being immortal they weren't easily controlled.  Somehow he did it still, only allowing you and him to escape, due to being human. What you didn't understand though, why was Obi-wan such a flirt.
The blond elf, the one that looked straight off like a princess, had stared at you and Obi-wan with his eyebrows raised. His light foot steps, couldn't be heard as he glided towards you both, standing close to Obi-wan, as the dwarves were search. Legolas excluding you two from it, using the side of your body to hide the lightsaber at Obi-wan's belt.
"Why are two humans travelling with dwarves?"   Was this elf wearing tights? David Bowie could get away with it because that ass and overall god looks, but the colour scheme on this blond elf was not it. Wondering if his dick could even breathe, maybe it shrank.
Looking at Obi-wan, who was smouldering at the elf, his lips slightly pushed out his blue eyes sharp, his long hair flowing. But..there was no wind. His hand doing a weird gesture like waving.
"We are not, we are trying to get lake town, as I have finally decided to meet my darlings parents. You will let us go." You were surprised when Obi-wan had wrapped his arm around your waist pulling you close to him. Your eyes wide, you really didn't think you were going to get out of this, how many times had you all been captured? Too many times.
"Go, follow the path, goodbye." Obi-wan had quickly let go of your waist , talking your hand, pulling you away, false smiles on your faces as you left. Trying not raise suspicion, Kili had watched the whole thing, scoffing in disgust, watching you and Obi-wan walking away.
You wanted to help the dwarves you really did;but Obi-wan had assured you they didn't need your help. You both waiting in the safe forest outside of the woodland realm, waiting for the dwarves.
Not only had Obi-wan had taught you basic defensive skills, but you had became extremely close. Here you were, stuck in a forest, no bedrolls no nothing, due to Azog. Nights were cold, so cold, as Obi-wan's duty to protect you, you both decided for your survivals there was only one way.
The fire low, so that you would not be detected by Orcs, Obi-wan and you snuggling up together, his arms around your waist, knees tucked under yours. Body heat being the only thing from stopping you both freezing to death.
During this week, what disturbed you the most, was Obi-wan's french accent...Considering there was no earth in the star-wars universe. If that matter you weren't sure. He'd pop the accent out at random moments, going to bathe in a stream?
"Do you need a chaperone, mon amour?" No, he did not go in the water with you, he just stood guard, holding his arm out to walk you to the stream and even back. Though you did have to wait by the stream while he was bathing , with his lightsaber in your hand, just in case.
However,one day when you you were bathing Obi-wan had almost had a heart attack when you let a gasp, running out of the hair all across your face, running smack into him. Your bare body against his robes, soon as he made eye contact with you he knew it was nothing life threatening.
"When I said 'You don't have time to be timid, you must be bold and daring' this was not what I mean." Obi-wan's stuck to yours , reassuring your privacy, even though his back was against the mud , your whole body pressed against him. Again with the accent, Obi-wan's smile small, your hands against his chest, as laugh erupted from your mouth.
"What is, Ma Cherie?"
"Only reason I'm laying on you butt naked is because a fish brushed against my leg." Obi-wan's once sincere face replaced with a grin you snuffled your laughter against his neck. Your cold skin against his , as vibrations travelled through his body, a laugh from his lips travelling to your ears. A few minutes passed, with you just against Obi-wan as you laughed together.
"This would be very embarrassing ,if the company found us now."
"I'll close my eyes, and you can go get dressed,"
That was it with that, Obi wan would never disrespect your modesty, it is not like when Kili had shown off on purpose.
The next day, you had caught up with the company and an injured Kili. However, the french accent was not lost...
Kili's faced laced with sweat, as you and Obi-wan made your way to the compan, his eyes met yours. He felt relieved that you had came back, yet anger still bubbled down in inside.
"I thought ye had left us." Bofur popping up infront of you two, his eyebrow raise.
"No, figured from I heard about that king , it was not the best if he had got a hold of Y/n, it is my mission to protect y/n." Bofur , along with Gloin, Dori and few others nodded in agreement.
Your eyes drifting from Obi-wan's face, back to Kili, his thigh seeping with blood,you had grabbed Obi-wan by the hand pulling him over with you towards Kili. Obi-wan meeting your eyes once again, confused with your actions. "Obi.. help him."
Letting go of your hand, Obi-wan had brought his hand over the wound, Kili tried to protest, only to be shut down by Fili. Kili felt tugging on his skin, the pain slowly disappearing, a few seconds late Obi-wan had remove his hand, stood up, made his way back to you. "W-what? H-how did you?"
This is what you and Obi-wan were sent here to do, save the line of Durin. After that, not even seconds Bard had arrived, the company was on their way again, no delays, except being caught by the master, which kind of annoyed
Obi-wan, getting to be called that without being a Jedi , disgraceful.
After that, it was one more boat ride away, and climbing more mountains. Within three hours , you feet began to blister, the knocks harsh, you wondered how Bilbo could do it, he was a happy chappy. Obi-wan next to you, had immediately picked up on you change. His eyes caught onto yours like a magnet, within seconds you were on his shoulders, hanging. Just like Anakin had carried him unconscious, he could've carried you anyway way but he decided on potato sack really?
"B-Ben!" The little shriek had erupted from your mouth in surprise, in reality it sounded like he had just made you orgasm. Your face flushed, as Obi-wan grip tightened around your thigh. "Yes, Ma Cherie?" Again with Obi-wan doing the french accent, letting out a groan.
"Never mind." For the next three hours you are carried on Obi-wan's shoulders, you couldn't imagine how his back feels. There's no negotiating with the negotiator. Your stomach ached from just being on his back. You did get to sleep for a while, which was great.
“Obi, I can walk now." Your face next the side of his face, softly speaking to him. "Are you sure?"
"Yes." With that you were back on the ground, walking with the rest of the company, though you didn't speak to many of the other dwarves much, you found yourself away from Obi-wan and in the company of Fili, who had left the company of his brother. Your conversation had started out normal, Fili telling you about the Elves, and Bilbo saving them.
"Are you courting the man?" Eyes widening at the dwarves words, it was no doubt that you had liked him watching him on screen, but no way he had made advances, had he? He could not, it's not the Jedi way. Why did he flirt with you all the time.  As you two grew close, you felt you chest tightening, you could feel that way. Just months ago you had felt the same for Kili, but then Obi-wan had appeared.
"No, why do you ask?"  Your face felt hot, unbearably hot, embarrassed that you had been clearly flirting back to Obi-wan.
"It's just that my brother... don't know if you have noticed he has been not himself, and well I think it's because of you and Obi-wan."  Fili whispered to you, you could barely hear him, but when you did make out what he was saying, why would Kili not himself because you and Obi-wan, had you offended him some how?
"What do you mean? Why would it be our fault?" It was not appropriate but a chuckle still left his lips, Fili could not understand how you could be so blind.
"You and Obi-wan flirt publicly a lot..." Then it hit you, the reason Kili could barely look at you anymore, you had not really ever have someone like you let alone possibly two.  Blush upon your cheeks, "Oh.."
"Now, you must understand, y/n , if you don't feel for him, you must put him down, do you love Obi-wan?"  Turning you face back to look at Obi-wan, who had been watching his steps, as he talked to Bilbo, who seemed to be deep into conversation. When Obi-wan's blue eyes had finally caught yours, his lips had turned up in a smile, before you turned back to the blond haired dwarf.
Fili's moustache braids jigging, as you all walked, waiting for your response.
"Jedi's aren't allowed attachments; it would never work out."
“Do you love him?” Repeating the same question, how could you know if you loved him, why would it matter it would never work out, Fili clearly didn’t want his brother heartbroken because you couldn’t decide.
“I d-don’t know, Fee,”
“Do you love Kili?”
“Really, Fili, I don’t know.”
Fili, had suggested to speak to Kili later, what if you only loved Obi-wan platonically?
Once Thorin had stopped the company for the night, and when the sky was dark. Only the glow of the fire upon your faces, Fili had left his brother on a log, making eye contact with you, gesturing for you to swap with him. Sitting upon the rough log, thighs touching, Kili had turned slightly jumping when realising it was you, his brown eyes now looking to yours with the flame of the fire reflected into them. His face with no expression at all, he didn’t even say anything to you. A string of pain, flowed through your heart, you hadn’t realised how you hadn’t spoken to Kili in months, properly anyways.
You had wrapped your arms around Kili neck, your cold flesh against Kili’s neck, as you pulled him into a tight hug, slowly he had accepted it. Wrapping his arms around your waist tightly, his head in the crook of your neck, breathing in deeply, his dark hair, tickling your neck.
“I’m sorry, Kili.” Pulling away, Kili brows scrunched together, his dark eyes searching your face, he thought he had done something wrong, and was going you space, also think mostly that you and Obi-wan were courting. However, Fili had informed him that you were not courting, he wished he could scold his older brother, for being nosy.
“W-why?” He had been jealous of your behaviour towards Obi-wan no doubt about that, but you shouldn’t have to apologise for his feelings, you could like anyone you wanted, you are beautiful, bodaciously so.
“Because I haven’t spoken to you for months, it’s not because I don’t like you, it’s just...you promise not to repeat this to anyone, especially your uncle?” Kili knew it, you didn’t like him, but his uncle? Yuck, he couldn’t be mean to you though, you were nothing but nice to him. Instead he just nodded, with a small smile.
“Thank you..the real reason why Obi-wan and I were sent here, well is to keep the line of Durin alive, must have a big effect on all the universes otherwise, two people from separate universes would not have been sent. So, we’ve been keeping this secret, it’s been hard, that’s why I spend so much time with Obi-wan.”
Kili’s eyes never left yours, as you spoke, taking a deep breath before you continued on, you were scared for the safety of your friends, Thorin didn’t care what you were doing , because you and Obi-wan were quiet and kept to yourselves, he saw how effective in battle Obi-wan was and didn’t complain. He needed the man power, there was no doubt about that.
“If I am totally honest, I do love Ben, and if he was allowed to be with me, I wouldn’t be with him, it’s not the way of the Jedi. He is my best friend, that is a gentleman, I’m sorry, but his back must’ve killed carrying me like a sack of potatoes. Plus, when we were waiting for you... I was having a bath, he was on guard and fish brush against me, I went running, fell flat on him, that was definitely not a pretty sight for hi-“
“You what?” Kili was scared to know what you were getting and frankly disturbed that Obi-wan had seen you vulnerable. You had reached and gripped his, large dwarven hand, tightly, rough, yet so warm...
“ Doesn’t matter, he was very respectful. Anyways, what I was getting at Kili, is that.. I c-can’t live within you...I love you, not platonically either, I understand if you don’t feel the same for me. I wouldn’t if I was you.” Before you could blink , his soft lips upon your, your hands in you his hair pulling him close, his hands back around his waist.
You finally felt certain of something.
Bonus:
Kili was not the slightest happy when you accidentally cut a lock of his hair off with the saber.
“Hey, Ben, can I cut your hair too?”
“Fuck off, I’m the only Jedi left with good hair, you touch it you’ll become a baked potato.”
“Okay I’m sorry!”
“mon Cherie , I could never harm you, for I love you like a dog.”
“Oi, stop flirting.” Kili had interrupted, petting his burnt detached hair.
“He just called me a dog, that’s not flirting,”
You: *after a moment of silence* “Motherf-” *smacks his hand away and hisses like a cat*
Kili: *backs off in fear, holding his hands up*
*later*
Fili: “Okay, let’s say: you’re stranded on an island. What’s the one thing you’d brig with you?”
You: “That’d never happen to me.” *doesn’t look up from your book*
*at Rivendell*
You: *slouching at the dining table w/ your arms crossed and a monotone expression*
Thorin: “(Y/n), please sit up straight.”
You: *slouches deeper into your chair*
Thorin: “(Y/n)...”
You: *keeps going*
Thorin: “(Y/n).“
You: *has slouched so low that you’re almost at the bottom of the chair but your expression hasn’t changed*
Thorin: *facepalms realizing the attempt was fruitless* “Mahal child.”
*later*
Elrond: “If I may ask, how can you stand to travel with 13 dwarves?”
You: *keeps a straight face* “I learned how to give less fucks at the age of 14.”
Bilbo: “(Y/n)! Language!”
☾ ☆ ✿ ■ ♦ ☯ ♒ - for Glorfindel, Elrond, Maedhros and Fili (feel free to skip the ones you have already done for Elrond)
Glorfindel:
☾ - sleep headcanon: he is team haha what is sleep? blinking counts as sleep right? ☆ - happy headcanon: each morning he gets up and preps for the day ahead and braids his horse's hair and then puts a bunch of bells on his horse and they ride out with the first light and often dont come back before like 5pm, he used to do that in Gondolin as well, even tho back then he had Ecthelion w him ✿ - Sex headcanon: yeah so i mentioned those rides with ecthelion didnt i?? plus there are always secret spots around gondolin yknow ■ - Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon: his living situation kinda looks like that of a frat boi but like it is his chaos and he knows where everything is al all times and it drives the other elves crazy ♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon: loves sitting by the fountain's in rivendell, there was decade where he even tried to teach himself how to play the flute, he loves horse riding ☯ - likes/dislikes headcanon: likes: being a morning person and telling everyone about it, he also goes around and says stuff like back when i was your age i had already killed a balrog and died to people, also has a sweet tooth dislikes: rainy days and silence ♒ - cooking/food headcanon: oh boi does he have a sweet tooth he basically only eats desserts and sweets and pastries
putting the rest under a read more cause there are 3 more left and the last 2 are kinda long
Elrond:
☾ - sleep headcanon: he is a half elf so every evening he gets into his soft pjs puts in his hair routine to keep his hair nice and fresh for the next day and then goes to bed and closes his eyes and dreams of happier days, he's also a bit of blanket hog ☆ - happy headcanon: dude is so sad and tragic he needs some happy headcanons asap but sadly i can only give him angst T^T like that halfelf can sadly fit so much angst but one happy headcanon is that he and bilbo get into poetry battles ✿ - Sex headcanon: a praise kink, like the biggest praise kink also gets pegged lbr ■ - Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon: tidy and neat. Everything has his spot. He also keep another library in his bedroom, with all the books and scrolls he has, most of them are healing or history tomes ♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon: (done) ☯ - likes/dislikes headcanon: (done) ♒ - cooking/food headcanon: tried to cook mole stew once and it actually wasnt that bad, at least that's what durin and disa told him over and over again
Maedhros:
☾ - sleep headcanon: Dude hasn't slept in years, not since Angband and even before that every time he tries to sleep he hears his brother's screams as he gets burned alive and then it's his father's death. So he just stays up and broods or does accounting or practices swordfighting or writes long letters to Fingon and after Fingon's death he still writes those letters he just never sends them. Sometimes he goes to the rampart of Himling and looks west and thinks about his mother ☆ - happy headcanon: he used to be happy once right? he must have  been, he remembers hours spend laughing at Caranthir's antics or helping Ambarussa with their calligraphy or festivals he spends dancing with Fingon and Aredhel and his mother's kin. Catching things for his younger brothers and cousins they couldn't reach, playing hide and seek with them ✿ - Sex headcanon: he can be ace as a treat ■ - Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon: it's all very sparse and he doesn't have much stuff anyway most of his things are still in Valinor and he didn't get to bring anything and he also doesn't really get attached to any item be it decorative or practical plus he doesnt sleep so why would heed a bed, if he rests he does it leaned against a wall or smth ♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon: he loved dancing and singing and playing the Middle-earth version of volleyball ☯ - likes/dislikes headcanon:  likes: taking walks at night with only the stars and moon above, he plays long distance chess against caranthir, he also likes wine. dislikes: actually can't stand maglor like at all and its all rather silly cause they entered a music competition as kids and he was unprepared so he asked Maglor to write him smth and then maglor played both his and Maedhro's song, and well.. Maedhros is still his father's son and even nerdanel couldnt smooth things over. ♒ - cooking/food headcanon: he was a bit of a picky eater as a kid and hated everything yellow, so no apples, potatoes, yellow bell peppers, quinces, cheese, or yellow sewets etc but he's not a picky eater anymore and wolves down everything he can get his hands on
Fili:
☾ - sleep headcanon: fili sleeps like  a  rock and he hates sleeping aloe cause when he was little he used to share a bed with both his mother and his younger brother, so he can't really fall asleep unless he knows someone is at least in the  same room as him. ☆ - happy headcanon: his father taught him how to braid and he was often allowed to braid his father's, Dis' and Thorin's beard and he felt very honoured doing that and ofc he taught Kili how to do his own hair ✿ - Sex headcanon: sadly he died a virgin even though he had been pining after Nori for the entire trip to Erebor, they werent even stuck in a cell together in Mirkwood, round of Fs in the chat pls ■ - Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon: he shares everything with Kili actually and sometimes Kili uses up all the soap and then there's no soap left for Fili, or sometimes Fili uses up all the flour and butter and milk and Kili just wants to have some cereal but alas no milk. And no Dis did not kick them out she would never she loves her sons too much for that, it's just that thorin thought it would be best if they lived closer to the smithies, especially since they both have a knack for oversleeping ♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon: he has a 12 step hair care and skin care routine, everyone always thinks Ili is the vain one but no it's him, he is the one that takes ages in the bathroom and looks into every mirror or window he passes ☯ - likes/dislikes headcanon:  likes: baking he actually tried to convince thorin once that he much rather wanted to be baker (an equally important and well respected jobs among the dwarves) but thorin told him it would be better if he knew his way around a proper weapon ; he also likes a good prank, and o boi did he use to prank Balin and Dwalin cause he and Kili knew they could get away with it (Balin) and could fit into hidey holes they couldn't reach (Dwalin) dislikes: he hates rain and humidity, again he's quite vain. He also dislikes being late but his bed is just too comfy ♒ - cooking/food headcanon: he secretly loves baking.
