♡ Summary: L/N Y/N, the 8th member of BTS, is getting married. The media was shocked with the announcement but they weren’t important to her at this moment. What was important was her seven brothers watching her make a new beginning.

Author's note: This has nothing to do with the other 8th member au story I had, this is different. I just thought this would be fun to do. Also wanted to do it for Bts’s anniversary!

Looking back on everything, L/N Y/N was always the eighth member of Bts. The little sister of the seven members and so many titles that were given to her by Army but it was always involving Bts, never herself alone. She was part of the 94’ line and the dance line, an extraordinary dancer but she always let the other members shine. She was scared. She was the only girl in this group and she had insecurities because of it. She didn’t think she was pretty enough to be with the others nor did she think she was talented enough. The guys always told her she shouldn't feel this way but words could only do so much. Taehyung even told her that without her then he wouldn’t want to become an idol but she thought he was just saying that to make her feel better.

Being older helped heal some of the insecurities but she still held back in most categories. It wasn’t until they were able to do their own photobooks and solo albums that everyone saw her as her. In her photobook, she showed off her elegance and the softness that she carried that was always covered. In a pale pink dress with flowers all around, Armies were shocked to see this side of her. She named her photobook, Heavenly Sent. Everyone could agree she looked like an angel but she named it for another reason.

Y/N was in a relationship; a long-term relationship. She was with them since the beginning of her career and they were engaged for a year. That’s ten years of being with someone and she wouldn’t change that. She remembered when she told the guys that she was seeing someone, it was a comedy skit.

Nineteen-year-old Y/N sat in the living room waiting for the rest of the guys to come home. She decided to stay home that day because she was sick but in all truth, she was scared. She was scared that she made herself sick. Jin thought that she was going to start her period and grabbed a heating pad for her. He was sweet but that's not what she needed.

She heard the door open and she jumped up in her seat. All the guys stared at her with raised eyebrows at her nervous expression. Namjoon was the first one to drop his bag, “Y/N, is everything okay?”

“Define okay....”

Yoongi let out a small chuckle as Jin sent a glare at him, “That means no. What’s wrong?”

Y/N looked down at the ground and then back at them, “Ca-Can you guys sit down...”

Jungkook's eyes widened and looked at Taehyung, “Is Noona pregnant?”

Y/N’s eyes widened and it sent her into a coughing fit, “Jungkook, I-I-I am not!”

Hoseok let out a small laugh and was the first one to sit on the floor, “Guys, just sit for her.”

The rest of them followed and stared at Y/N with wide eyes. She gave them a small smile and looked down at her feet, “I-I’m dating someone...please don’t tell the company.”

The silence in the room made her uncomfortable and she slowly looked up to see shocked faces. She nodded her head and looked away from the intense stares. Jimin was the first one to speak, “Are you happy?”

“Very...”

Namjoon let out a small sigh and looked at Y/N with a tight smile, “I want you to be happy. We won’t tell the company but don’t let this relationship hold you back when it comes to practicing or anything along those lines.”

“It won’t, don’t worry. They understand.”

“Then, go be happy.”

Jungkook tilted his head at Y/N and then looked at Jin, “So Noona isn’t pregnant?”

“Jungkook, Y/N isn’t pregnant.”

“But she has a partner?”

“Oh my god Jungkook, keep up.”

This month was a big month for everyone; she was getting married. The announcement of her being in a relationship shook the world. She was the first member of Bts to say that they were in a relationship and on top of things, getting married. She was so excited to announce it to the public because she wanted to show off her engagement ring (and wedding ring in the future). She didn’t want people questioning her ring and she just wanted to get it out of the way. She told Army that she will not be sharing any pictures or details of her partner, it will stay private.

Her members were excited for her but Jin was sad. He saw her as a little sister and seeing her getting married made his heart jump in happiness but in sadness as well. Jin was the one that taught her how to drive and was the one that let her stay over at his house when she got homesick. Yoongi couldn’t explain how he felt. He knew Y/N since he knew Namjoon, he thought Namjoon was her brother because of how close they were. She would watch Yoongi and cheer him on whenever he rapped underground and supported him to audition in Bighit. She gave him so much support at a young age and she was still doing that. Hoseok saw her as his little dancer. The two would dance for hours and would even make dances to their songs. Hoseok was happy but he also understood this was a big step in her life. Namjoon was her best friend. They went to the same school and became friends through being in the same class. As soon as they met, they clicked. Namjoon would always write his poems in middle school and high school with Y/N. It was something they shared. He had the true privilege to see her blossom into the adult that she was now.

The Maknae line saw Y/N as their older sister. She would iron Jimin and Taehyung's uniforms every morning for them. Making them breakfast, lunch, and dinner for them making sure they were well fed. They would also go to her whenever they had problems in school, she was always there to help. Helping Jimin when he was struggling with his body image and being his therapist when he needed it. He saw her as a guardian angel. Y/N helped Taehyung when his grandmother passed away. She understood his pain because she lost her grandparents around the same time but she helped Taehyung through his pain while she ignored her own. He helped her with her pain when he realized what she was doing and the two got closer. Jungkook saw Y/N as his second love. His first love was Namjoon but his second love was Y/N. When he first met her at Bighit, she comforted him and gave him the confidence that he was lacking. Y/N would get up early in the morning and walk him to school or drive him to school. Giving him breakfast along the way and he never forgot this. She was there for his first heartbreak and she was there when he graduated, she was always there for him and he was going to do the same for her.

She was standing in the room with her mother and maid of honor fixing her dress. She turned her head and smiled to herself in the mirror. The knock on the door took her out of her thoughts and she turned her head to the door, “Come in!”

The door opened and it revealed her members. Her mother and maid of honor left the room so they could have a moment with each other. She walked towards them and looked down at her dress, “You like it?”

Jin smiled and nodded his head, “You look beautiful.”

Her fingers gently touched the floral appliques on her skirt, “This is my dream dress. I’ve dreamed about this dress since I was little.”

Jimin let out a small chuckle and gently touched her veil, “You always had good taste.”

“I do try.”

Namjoon isn’t the type to cry but here he was, tearing up. He brought Y/N in a tight hug and she was shocked by the embrace but she returned the hug. When he went to let go, he placed a kiss on the side of her head, “I’m so happy for you.”

“Joon, don’t cry...you’ll make me cry.”

Yoongi wiped his eyes and let out a small laugh, “Yeah, we can’t ruin her make-up, Joon.”

“Shut up, I’ve known her longer than all of you. She’s my baby sister...”

“I’m older than you...”

Taehyung took something out of his pocket and smiled at Y/N, “I got something for you...well, we got you something.”

She looked between the youngest with a small smile and looked at the box, “Ohhh, a little box. Does this little box have a little gift in it?”

Jungkook let out a small laugh and nodded his head, “Just open it noona.”

She let out a small laugh opening the small box. Her smile quickly dropped and looked up at them with a shocked look, “You guys...”

Hoseok rubbed the back of his neck in a nervous manner, “We thought it would be cool to walk down the aisle with you...”

She looked down at the amethyst earrings with a matching necklace. She looked back up at them with tears coming down, “I love you guys so much...”

They had group hugs before but this one was different. They weren’t getting ready for a concert or music show, they weren’t accepting an award and they weren’t doing anything for Army. This group hug was meant for them and them only. When they let go, Jimin wiped away her tears gently and kissed her forehead, “I can’t believe you're getting married.”

“You guys are still important in my life...don’t think otherwise.”

Taehyung let out a chuckle and nodded his head, “You better think like that Noona.”

“Can you help me put the necklace on?” Taehyung nodded his head and watched her turn in her long white gown slowly. He gently placed the necklace around her neck and clasped it. Before she could turn around, she took out the pearl earrings and replaced them with the amethyst earrings. She slowly turned around and gave them a small smile, “So what do you think?”

Hoseok smiled and let a small tear escape, “Perfect.”

“Oppa, what do you think?”

She glanced at Jin who was fighting back tears, “Yo-You look beautiful. I’m so happy for you.”

“Should we do a toast before I get out there?” The group moved towards the bar and Namjoon opened the champagne bottle. He poured eight glasses and handed them out. She kissed Jimin on the cheek and looked at Namjoon, “Should the leader give a speech?”

Namjoon let out a chuckle and glanced at the bubbly drink before looking at Y/N, “After years of being together, it’s our turn to let you go and spread your wings. It’s your turn to write this part of your story with your partner and it's going to be the most beautiful story that anyone has read. My little sister is getting married to someone who was heavenly sent, in her own words. To new beginnings and so much more!”

DATES MATTER

They matter a lot. But if you're Korean, even more so.

That's one of the first things you learn when you get a bit involved in Korean culture (to understand BTS better).

First there's the language and the hyung/dongsaeng thing (although some still struggle with it LOL), and soon after, the couples' culture (anniversary calculators, wearing matching outfits, celebrating Christmas together, seeing the first snowfall, etc.).

I'm not going to say I don't believe the boys when they say something. I tend to believe them all the time...I promise!🙄😂 .... But I know they also have to omit certain information and can't be totally honest.

If Jimin says he doesn't attach importance to dates like his birthday, or Valentine's Day, or White Day.... I won't say it's not true. But I can't help but contextualise this statement, given that he is talking to Army. No one will expect him to say... "oh yes! I love celebrating Valentine's Day!"

Excuse me Sir, with whom? (would be the next question).

I also can't take his words as "giving a shit" about those dates, because looking back, I think we all know for a fact that birthdays and milestones do matter in Jimin's life... and Jungkook's.

We have seen them in a video on February 14, 2017 wearing matching jackets (something very Korean).

We've seen Jimin come back sooner from a trip to Japan in 2018 on February 14, and later going out to dinner with JK.

Jimin has not skipped even one of JK's birthdays.

Nor JK's Jimin's... because even in 2020, when JK didn't post on his bday on twitter (to anyone all the year indeed), rumors of them were heard during those days (in the break they had after MOTS online).

On White day 2022, Jimin posted his famous pic on Instagram. The first one with a member.

Days later we all saw the leak pic on Najujib.😎

Curious that on White day 2018, JK dedicated a song to “Army”

A cover that, soon after, he would hum at the MMA 2018, while massaging Jimin, telling him lil secrets and so on.... (I won't describe them because those scenes are from the first grade on Jikook issues, hehehehe..)

I don't go into recounting the times jikook has dropped that 11.08 is a landmark date, because there are so many wonderful posts about it on Tumblr. But I can't resist giving some examples

Summer 2017, Seoul

That evening's awful weather was working in their favor. Odd to say, but true.

The darkness was deep and pressing in on them, the storm clouds casting a dark shadow over the city, giving them the opportunity to be able to sneak out of their dormitory without the fear of running into too many people along the way. In that season, thunderstorms were not so common, so people tended to stay indoors rather than go out, safe in the knowledge that they could do it the next day without too much trouble.

Holy summer.

The clock on the boy's wrist struck eleven pm when they arrived to repair themselves to a cafe quite far from the middle of the city.

Soaked but giggling, they shrugged off their drenched jackets but left masks and hats to cover their faces.

The bar was empty, except for one employee who was cleaning up the counter. He looked annoyed as he saw customers walking in.

The bartender glanced at the glowing clock above the cash register, wiped a beer mug with a dingy rag, and then looked back to them "We'll be closing soon"

"Define 'soon' " Chaeri took the floor to speak

He raised one bushy eyebrow "In an hour"

"We'll be gone in an hour" Jungkook reassured

One hour would have been sufficient, they had been planning that date for weeks now.

Besides being an objectively nice cafe, the special feature of that place was having the chance to write a letter to their future self. The employees in charge mailed it on your behalf on the anniversary of the date chosen.

Jungkook's hand was shaking when he intertwined his fingers with Chaeri's. It gave him chills to be able to do this outdoors.

The bartender certainly didn't recognize them just from their voices; he was pretty sure he could be comfortable.

Chaeri looked up at him and he could see just how her eyes narrowed as she smiled despite the fact that the mask concealed her face.

"Let's take a seat"

They went to the back corner of the room, the smell of coffee and chocolates making their stomachs rumble but they would not have risked taking off their masks.

"What can I get you!?" the bartender shouted from the back of the bar.

"Just a pen and a blank letter, please."

The employee walked over to the counter, picked up two pens, and paper and came back over to them.

"Okay," she says, "let's find a way to write both of us in a neat way"

If an adjective were to be given to the sheet of paper that came out, it would probably be chaotic.

Blue and black had slightly merged; several scribbles had been made on the sides of the page as they tried to figure out how much ink they had left; and several words had been lightly blurred together in a rough letter.

Very neat.

The storm outside had not diminished; it seemed to be getting louder and heavier by the second.

The building they were in was shaking; lamps hanging from the ceiling swung back and forth.

But Chaeri and Jungkook were too focused on re-reading what they wrote

"Sorry, it came out a mess because all I did was write over you" Jungkook's guilty smirk was visible from his eyes, which made Chaeri feel butterflies in her stomach

"No, actually...I find it prettier this way. More personal, more like ours. You know?"

"I think you're right"

"We should decide now on a date to have it sent to us" the bar's closing time was approaching, and although they were done with the letter, they still hadn't agreed on a date to have it mailed

"It should be in a very long time" Jungkook nodded both to himself and to her, not wavering even a second.

The guy's optimistic attitude was one of the traits she fell in love with, but she couldn't help but be slightly concerned by his words. Their future was unsure because of their profession. They both were aware of that.

"In a very, very long time. And I assure you we will read it together. I'm sure we will" Jungkook remarked, his thumb rubbing the back of her hand in reassurance.

Chaeri flipped the lettersheet over and did not hesitate more to write on it 'In a very long time' in big, bold letters

April 2023, Seoul

"Yoongi-ssi, this is for you. It came this morning" A young girl with large glasses resting on her nose, the same one who handled his correspondence every morning in the BigHit building, handed him a somewhat crumpled letter. It had coffee-stained edges and the sealing wax that held it closed was half crumbled, leaving only a single piece that ensured the letter's safety and closure.

"Uh? I thought we didn't take fan letters like this anymore" The boy settled back composedly on the sofa on which he was sprawled at the moment, awaiting Namjoon's arrival, who, because of heavy traffic, seemed to have been tremendously late that day "Yes, sir. This letter is … from you. I mean the sender is Min Yoongi and the addressee is .. always Min Yoongi. It seems like it was written in 2017"

He scratched the back of his head. It was true he was getting old, but not so old he couldn't remember writing a letter to himself. Right?

"Oh.. okay, thank you for bringing it to me"

The girl bowed quickly before exiting the lounge, leaving him alone with the odd piece of paper.

He found it so funny that he picked up his cellphone and texted the rest of the members on the group chat they had: Apparently I wrote a letter to myself and I don't remember doing it. Does anyone recall me doing such a thing? Aish, I'm getting old

He thought that perhaps he could have waited for Namjoon to open it together, but boredom and curiosity got the better of him, so he cracked the wax seal to read its contents.

Hi to me and hi to you..Okay, I don't know how to write the start of a letter

Hi jagi, hi future me, I hope this letter finds you well

And also hi to you Yoongi Oppa, sorry we put you into this, but it would be risky to address this letter in our names, so we will use yours. Thank you for the non-consensual favour and..stop here! What we are going to write below is none of your business.

The Mystery of 1108

When I first became a Jikooker, I started to watch and read different theories on Jikook channels and blogs, and the 1108 theory was one of those theories that all Jikookers collectively agreed on. Based on this theory, the 8th day of November is a special anniversary for Jikook because they started dating on that day. We know Jikook care so much about special days and anniversaries, because they have posted several times on Valentine's days, and Korean romantic dates, and they never miss spending a birthday together. So, after learning this theory, I started to expect them to do something on this special day, but it never happened. In 2018, the Jimin t-shirt thing happened, and no one expected him or the other members to do anything anytime soon. One year later, JK had a car accident at the beginning of November, and again, appearing on social media or going out was too much to ask for. Then in 2020 and the years after that, when Jikook didn't post or do anything special, I started to question this theory. Of course, this theory was fully based on facts. JK had released GCF in Tokyo on this very day after all, but could all this be just a coincidence? I mean, he might have finished the editing that day, or maybe he was just matching the numbers with the hotel room as a special message for Jimin? It's not impossible. What was the truth?

To see things more clearly, let's review all the facts; Where the 1108 theory comes from? The truth is, the 1108 theory never existed until JK posted the GCF in Tokyo on the Bangtan TV channel on November 8th, 2017. This was definitely a turning point in the history of Jikookers, and they started to dig into the numbers and dates to find some links and connections that could help them to know more about Jikook:

The first ever jikook video on Twitter was posted on November 8th, 2015, right after the Melon awards.

100 days later, on February 15th, JK posted the cover of "Nothing like us" by Justin Bieber.

On November 8th, 2016, BTS was leaving for Japan, and Jimin posted a Jikook video on the plane.

1000 days later, JK posted a selca at Malta at 10:13 local time, which is Jimin hour.

If you ask me, there is a high possibility for these four incidents to be just coincidences, and Jikook might never mean to share any secrets by posting them. Don't get me wrong, I'm only looking at this theory in a different way and not denying it because first, several other theories indicate Jikook started dating around the same era (late 2015), and second, the evidence is not limited to those four incidents I mentioned.

Let's look at the second part of evidence; Jimin approved the 1108 theory by using the number 2315 at the Soul concert ment when exactly 2315 days had passed from 151108, or by posting a selca with glasses at 1:50 AM when 1500 days had passed. And JK also made it clear several times that 1108 has a special meaning for him by using 1:18 as the timestamp or posting at 23:08. If you look at the second part of the evidence, you will see that they are more recent and started at the end of 2018. But why? We will come back to this later.

Let me ask another question first: Do Jikook celebrate the anniversary of GCF in Tokyo?

Imagine you got married, and your partner is making a video of your wedding/honeymoon footage to publish on social media. Will you celebrate the actual trip/ceremony anniversary or the anniversary of the day you posted the video? The answer is clear. I know Jikook are not common people, and this comparison might not be 100% accurate, but at least it gives us a pretty good insight into how Jikook might see these dates and anniversaries. Jikook celebrate their Tokyo trip anniversary, and they have been loud about it several times, here are some examples:

1. They were super loud at Soul SYS concerts on October 29th.

2. Exactly 1000 days after 171031, JK covered "10000 hours" by Justin Bieber.

3. On the 4th anniversary of their trip, JK covered "Falling" by Harry Styles.

Let's make the post short and have the conclusion already. In my opinion, 1108 is not an anniversary for Jikook, it is a code.

We know JK loves to use codes to convey his hidden messages, and he tried it with 123 or 13 before, but other shippers and OT7s sabotaged the message (you know how). So he chose something with more clear meaning for his target audience. This code (whether it refers to a special date or not) is directly connected to Jikook, and they both have been using it since 2019.

So I have a question that requires an open mind and perhaps a “tin hat”. I was reading about Jimin referencing 2315 during PTD so I looked at dates. This is a reach.., but.. well here goes, lol.

If you calculate the number of days between Nov 8, 2015 and Feb 1, 2023 -excluding both Nov 8th and Feb 1st, it equals 2641 which added together is 13 :) Not sure if that is how date the calculations are done? Do you omit the starting and ending dates when calculating anniversaries etc?

First off, let me start by being very honest and saying I don't personally entertain this type of narrative no matter who it is done by and who it is about. Seeing some meaning in a set of numbers and then proceeding to throw random ones into the mix just so that they fit into your own presumed context is hitting QAnon level of conspiracy thinking. Alas you admit it yourself, yet proceed to pull strings from all possible corners to arrive at any satisfying (to you) conclusion. That being said if it makes sense to you and makes you happy, go ahead and enjoy it. But from my point of view, you just wrote a bunch of numbers and dates and drew connections that are void of reason.

Anyways to add a bit more cultural context, yes numbers and dates are important in Korean culture, esp when it comes to dating life, fortune etc. Korean couples celebrate their 100/×00th day anniversary, their yearly anniversary, their 1000th day anniversary; Peppero day, Valentines day, White day etc those are also all important in dating culture. So, yes counting days from when the couple officially got together is also a thing. To add, it is typically a young people thing, as they are prone to follow trends and show off their couple looks and gifts etc.

In context of BTS or specifically now Jimin and Jungkook, 13 has been mentioned a lot and yes there is a signifance for this number that is justified and logical, as they themselves referred to it on multiple occasions and emphasized its significance. It is also justified and logical to ascribe meaning to different dates that were pronounced and even mentioned by them, such as "Jimin day" or "Jungkook day." Similarly, we also have 지민+시 = 지민시 (Jimin+si) as 10:13 Jimin o'clock. However, anything beyond that is just fanmade narratives. And yes, I am fully aware a lot of those narratives come from Korean fans. But it is important to emphasize they are also just fans. Meanwhile the fandom might feel like their cultural background gives legitimacy to whatever they say and whatever patterns they see, they are no less prone to cognitive dissonance and logical fallacies as any other group of fans or group of people really.

This is now a whole meta discourse that could be dissected in pages and pages. But to sum up, I don't look for hidden meanings in the dates of their posts, and especially not the hour and the minute they post at, or try to analyze numbers they mention (in my opinion) pretty randomly (and even if not by random, anything that is not given context by them is just pure speculation, fantasy)

Once again, this egregiously long reply might feel like sort of an attack so let me reiterate: if these types of posts, theories, coincidences bring you joy, go ahead and indulge in them (I myself do sometimes as well)!! but please don't get too lost in the sauce. I understand, many jikookers are set out to *always* find some kind of connection or link in between Jimin and Jungkook even in completely unrelated scenarios, but make sure to be aware of this echo chamber and think critically.

(sidenote: I apologize if I am missing some obvious connotation that has sprung up on Twitter or some other corner of the Internet recently, I am not so active within the fandom anymore)

Jin's Chinese fan base 'ArmyJin_J1' said, "Local residents are suffering a lot from the storms and floods that hit Zhuozho, Hubei Province, China recently." Anticipating shortages of essential products, we donated 2,886 feminine hygiene products to support women in the region in need.”
