Luo Yunxi Appreciation Master Post: How can someone be so multi-talented?!

In case you did not already know, here are LYX's many talents. It's insane how many different things he can do at a near-professional level beyond acting!

1. Dance/Ballet

LYX graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy majoring in ballet with over 11 years of professional experience.

This is him doing 13+ pirouettes in a performance of Tchaikovsky Rhapsody (full video, he's on the right)

Interpret dance solo (燃烧的火苗) where he won the first gold ever for STA (video, news)

Swan Lake solo at the Taoli Cup Dance Competition in high school (video)

Modern dancing solo (黑白影画) at his graduation performance (video, he's the only guy in white)

He also taught at the Macao Conservatory for a year and danced in front of national leaders in Flying to the Moon (奔月) at the Macao 10th Handover Anniversary (video)

He's super flexible and has a strong core (despite being naturally thin)

In response to request from fans, he performed the Black Moonlight dance in a now viral video on Douyin.

2. Wuxia / Posture

LYX is known as one of the best actors working today for wire work - you can see him here doing 3 consecutive jumps 2-3 stories above ground (compilation videos 1, 2)

He does a lot of his own stunts and is often better (i.e. more graceful) than his stunt double, even though it's really risky and he's sustained some serious injuries from being dropped accidentally (And the Winner is Love: B roll video, actual scene, other BTS, other fight scenes)

He moves with elegance, not just in action sequences (Ashes of Love fight compilation 1, 2), but people have made video compilations of how he walks, kneels, works his sleeves and train

Of course, it's thanks to his dance foundation, but he also puts a lot of hard work into stunt training. Not something a lot of actors do because it eats up time to make more TV or go on variety shows (Ashes of Love stunt training, BTS)

3. Diving

He played a diver once in Flip in Summer (夏日心跳) and actually learned to dive... I mean he's no Tom Daley but this looks pretty good for an amateur... (full video)

4. Voice Acting

He’s always dubbed himself since circa 2018 (with the exception of And the Winner is Love due to Covid logistics issues), which is not the norm in Chinese drama (Ashes of Love dubbing BTS). In fact, he is sometimes the only person in the cast to use his original voice (e.g. in Princess Silver)

He also lends his voice to animations - he was the voice of Viktor in Arcane (BTS video), which received positive feedback (most people didn't realize he was not a professional voice actor)

He appears as a judge and live dubbing performer in Voice Monster alongside the top voice actors in China, Bian Jiang (aka voice of Yehua in Eternal Love, Nan Wangj in the Untamed) and Zhang Jie (aka voice of Donghua in Eternal Love, Sifeng in Love & Redemption). He has so much respect to those working behind the scenes, and it really shows (full video)

5. Singing

Some of you may know that he started out in a boy band called JL with Fu Longfei - these videos didn't age well, but here you go: JL (MV), 我们 (MV)

He has released a number of solo singles, including 缘起 (MV), 星星之火 (live), 不是我 (MV), 等风停 (MV). and 勇 (soundtrack), which he composed and wrote the lyrics himself (these are all mando-pop ballads if that's your jam)

He performed Big Fish 大鱼 at Tmall's 11/11 Festival (live video) - while his rendition is not as powerful as the original, he can hit really high notes with an impressive falsetto - I think it goes up to G5 (one octave above middle C)

He performed Pipa Xing (琵琶行) at the Douyin Festival (live video) - the notable part is his Peking Opera style singing at the end

He occasionally releases covers of songs on Chinese karaoke app Changba or Douyin: 要不然我们就这样一万年 (youtube), 黑月光 (youtube), 不染 (youtube), 山水又一程 (youtube)

He can also sing in other languages, including 喜欢你 in Cantonese (recording) - it's actually a very good cover and his Cantonese pronunciation is >95% accurate - there are parts where you can't tell he's not a native speaker.

6. Musical Instruments

He's an accomplished classically-trained pianist, which you can see in...

He also plays the guitar, though probably at an amateur level

7. Music Gaming

During college he was obsessed with this music game called O2Jam (劲乐团) to the point where he created new tracks (i.e. arrange/compose the music) for the company under the username Dinoroy (explained by himself here, videos of him playing).

He became well-known within the fan community as the legendary D神 (D God). There are a lot of funny comments from old players saying that they thought D God is a bitter middle-aged recluse trying to screw them over with difficult tracks (read comments here).

D God was so prolific and reliable that gaming company accepted his submissions without review. Here are some of his best tracks - game arrangement only (Lydia, Croatian Rhapsody, Digital Emotions), music & game arrangement (黑暗魅影), original composition (光之乐章)

8. League of Legends

He's an LOL super fan, commentator, and player since season 2, went to see worlds in person twice, and was a cast member in a gaming show called Beyond It! Hero (episodes here)

He played the 2018 All-Star Event in Las Vegas teaming with reigning world champion Rookie and delivered the final blow that beat the other team 2:1 (video)

He got a quadra kill at a celebrity mobile game even though his team was crap (video clip)

He co-invested 1M RMB in a team led by Misaya 若风 - you can see them playing together in a live broadcast of the mobile game (video)

Update: Our longtime fan boy has become spokesperson of League of Legends and official commentator at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou! The love is reciprocated!

9. Calligraphy/Drawing/Culture

LYX is known for his Chinese handwriting (he practices regularly) - there's even a font based on his handwriting called 汉仪罗云熙体 (download here)

He does all his own handwriting for marketing materials (e.g. Immortality below) and doesn't need a hand double for scenes where his character is practicing ancient Chinese calligraphy

He's also got amazing drawing skills - check out the Queen of the Night 昙花 he drew as Runyu while waiting around on set in between takes (video)

While he doesn't go on a lot of variety shows, he's often a guest on cultural programs, like the beauty of Chinese Calligraphy 书法之美 (video), Chinese Fans in 指尖上的非遗 (video)

His self-produced Mr. Mossie covers a lot of cultural topics (seasons 1, 2, 3), the segment on Hanfu was featured in the UNESCO Chinese Language Video Festival (video)

10. Photography

Hey crew. I've been hearing some scuttlebutt around the deck that people are starting to worry again about whether or not s3 is going to happen. The love notes section is already pretty long so I'm not gonna go too crazy up here too -- instead I'm going to just point out that David Jenkins, while not active and posting things for us right now, is sneakily poking around in Samba and Rhys' BTS comments. He's still there, he's still watching, and I think he can tell we're all feeling the high from Samba's releases. Don't give up hope, these things take time. They're gonna get there. I'm gonna add the trends to this section today because I think it's important to see what we did today:

Hey Lovelies. I know I've said it before, but it bares repeating since I know a lot of you are struggling right now.

Just a gentle reminder that if your brain is telling you that there's something wrong with you, or that you've done something wrong or embarrassing -- it's lying to you.

There's been so much dopamine from all the excitement lately with the BTS, that it has to come down at some point, and when it does, your brain will sometimes over-compensate and you start feeling maybe worse than you did before.

This is totally normal, it really is. Our brains are glorious complex pathways of unmeasurable brilliance, and yet a simple hormone change can make that same brain tell us that we're not enough, or we're not worthy.

I am here to remind you, you are so very much enough.

No matter what is happening in your life-- in your job, in your personal relationships, in your family, in your school, anywhere--

YOU ARE ENOUGH, EXACTLY HOW YOU ARE.

If you feel like you've failed, or you've let someone down, just know you are STILL enough. We all fail, it's how we learn.

We pick ourselves back up and we try again, and if we fail again--

We're STILL enough, and we are still worthy of love and comfort.

Eventually you will succeed. You will get there, and all the while while you work on it, YOU. ARE. ENOUGH.

I know it's so hard to see when you're feeling small, but I see you all every day, and I am awe-struck at your constant ability to band together and not only find love and support, but give it so freely and lovingly.

I know we all look like we're having a good time, but a lot of us are struggling silently, and yet we're finding ways to reach out to one another and spread love to help us all get through. Love isn't always positivity, it can be commiseration, or frustration on behalf of someone. You all are finding the best ways to help your crew, and I'm so very proud of you.

You all are capable, creative, gifted, beautious piles of stardust smooshed together into one wonderfully unique package, and you are so very loved.

I'm also having wine, Salud! Now that we've had some time to digest episode 6 of the Monuments doc (did you see it?) do you have any thoughts regarding the scene and set up inside Jimin’s kitchen? Did it strike you as odd that we got a scene there at all?? That JK was there? That they decided to set it up and that the scene became (or was set up to be) a moment to talk about Jimin’s depression as remarked by an unnamed 'friend'?

I love a hearty glass of wine to unwind or an Old Fashioned. I wonder if anyone else is also drinking wine right now with us (it’s always after 5 somewhere right 😊)?

I did watch it! I admit I’m one of those that shares a family members’ account and so was able to watch all the episodes when they aired.

Jimin’s Place

I don’t really know how to feel about Jimin and Jungkook having a parts of the episode together at Jimin’s place. It did feel weird because Jimin in particular had until recently not shown use even the edges of his TV! Us loosing it over his billboard number 1 live and seeing a chair?! Then the live with his house tour?? I still don’t believe that was not a dream

All I can say is it’s Jimin’s place and if he allowed the cameras in, in 2022, when this was filmed then he was comfortable enough. He had confidence in the show showing what he felt comfortable with showing. Jin, Hobi, Jungkook & Yoongi didn’t show their places, so if he didn’t want to, I’m sure he wouldn’t have to.

What was the reason 🗣️

I kinda felt like the whole point of the show was to continue the mantra of Bangtan, that they love ARMY and they love each other, among other things.

I found it crazy sus that they showed the members as a whole unit and they showed them as individuals but the only two they showed in different setting was Jikook, not just cooking, drinking, talking and eating together but also making music together, with the parts of the recording of ‘Letter’ being shown.’

It was soo hard to ignore though!! They literally had Yoongi eating chicken alone, Namjoon cleaning his place alone, Tae chilling in his place and eating alone but Jikook cooking together, eating together, laughing together, being introspective and honest in front of each other.

What does it meeaaaannnn?!

The same way it’s being drummed into our heads that BTS love performing, love ARMY, love each other and are also individuals…I feel like it was also being drummed into our heads the reality of the closeness of Jikook?

That one can call the other over and they spend time together and do thing none group/work related. BUT that they also can rely on each other in anyway work related, including solo works. That there is nothing not accessible to each other when it comes to Jikook?

Jungkook has access to Jimin’s home, kitchen and also studio sessions during their solo careers, that Jimin can call on him and give him that access, that it’s mutual?

I mean we not only have this from the Monuments show, we have their companionship enlistment and the ‘coming soon’ Jimin & Jungkook show. It’s like neon signs on the closest duo in the group, at least to me. I LIVE! I LOVE IT! I can’t wait for more of it, however Jikook want to give it to us.

The ‘Friend’

In regards to the ‘friend’ that Jimin speaks about in his story, the one he had a little fight with, that he went to help move the next day and said he thought Jimin might be depressed. I personally don’t think it was Jungkook.

For me, it’s just because I don’t see the need to think that Jikook are each other’s only friends and only people they know. We know Jimin is a very loyal and loving friend. We know that he has friends that aren’t famous as well as those that are. Him not mentioning the name of his friend and just referring to them as ‘friend’ may not have been due to him ‘hiding in plain sight’ with Jungkook but more like just protecting the privacy of a non-celeb friend OR a celeb friend.

If Jimin wanted to say ‘Jungkookie and I were having a drink the other day and talking’ he could have, it would have been no different than him saying how Jungkook came to his hotel room several times day or night, multiple times on live and on the PTD DVDs. No different than him talking and drinking with Jungkook there in camera.

I do feel like Jungkook had heard the story before, but not because Jungkook was the friend in question, but because Jikook are close and talk to each other and Jimin would most likely have told Jungkook about this around the time it happened.

At The Concert

Jung Hoseok/Reader

Summary: Hoseok was quite insistent that you come to this show in particular...

Warnings: Female reader, established relationship, idol!au, set around 2018 during the LY tour but not that important, fluff, crying, mentions of being anxious, marriage proposal.

Word Count: 1226  M.list

BTS were about halfway through their current tour, giving maximum effort each show they did. You always tried your best to attend as many of their shows as you could, since getting to spend time with Hoseok when he was on tour was scarce enough as it was.

For this specific show, Hobi had asked you some time ago to make sure you had time

off to attend and you weren’t sure why, maybe because it was the closest show on the tour to your home town? If that were the case though, you would have been there either way so you found it quit strange how pushy he was being about you attending.

You were currently backstage, watching the boys run around the stage from the wings. A lot of the time you just watched on the TV in the dressing room or private area in the audience, since you always felt like you were in the way just standing around backstage but, due to some particularly insistent staff members, you were side stage.

The boys performance was amazing as usual. Watching them perform never failed to brighten up your day. Once they finished their current song, it was time for them to line up and talk to the audience.

One by one they spoke lovingly to ARMY before they all fell silent and turned to face Hobi. They all watched as he stepped forward once again, all sporting wide and gummy smiles.

‘I know this is strange but I hope you ARMY will indulge me.’ The audience cheered loudly as Hoseok spoke. You looked on confused, not sure what he was up to.

‘When me and Y/N went public, we were shocked by the amount of support we got from all of you. We’d been together quite a while by then so it was important to us that we had your support.’ He continued to speak. Though you couldn’t see his face from your position you knew he was nervous but still smiling, you however were shocked. Why was he bringing you up? It was at this moment that you began to notice that some of the staff around you were throwing glances in your direction, making your nerves flare up and also feel a little self conscious. Did they know what was going on?

‘I know she’s going to hate me for this...’ He chuckled to himself, ‘Jagi come out here please.’ He turned back to face where you were standing, his arm outstretched and giving you a small smile. The audience screamed at the unusual turn.

Your mouth fell open in shock. You looked around at the staff for help, only to find smiling faces looking back at you, some of them even ushering you forwards onto the stage. Surely this wasn’t for real.

When no movement came from you, both Jungkook and Jimin ran towards you in an attempt to pull you out. They were laughing as they spoke to you.

‘Come on noona!’ Jungkook grabbed onto your right arm whilst Jimin grasped your left.

‘What’s going on!?’ You stuttered, still not willing to move.

‘Just trust us Y/N! You know we would never let anything bad happen to you!’ Jimin coaxed, trying to ease your nerves a little. You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding before you nodded. You knew what he said was true so you didn’t really have any choice but to trust them right now.

They both grinned at you again before excitedly pulling you onto the stage.

Blush crept up onto your cheeks when the crowd started to scream your name upon coming into view.

The two younger boys lead you over to Hobi, who in turn wrapped his arms around you in a tight hug. He pulled back and gave you a bright smile, you keeping your hands firmly on his arms.

‘What’s happening?’ You were smiling but couldn’t help but cringe as your voice got picked up by his microphone. Causing all the boys to let out small laughs.

Speaking of...You noticed the 6 other boys lined up behind the two of you, all either grinning ear to ear or bouncing up and down with excitement.

Hobi took a step back, taking one of your hands in his before he started to speak.

‘Y/N you are the love of my life. You’ve been with me through thick and thin and you were always there for me, back when I was still training. All your support made me the man I am today.’ Oh...Was this really happening? You could feel your emotions building up in your chest as he spoke from his heart.

‘I really lucked out, getting the most amazing person in the world to date me back then. Being together all these years has made me realise I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with you....So...’

It was then that he got down on one knee, pulling out a small velvet box from his jacket pocket. You knew it was coming after his speech, but it didn’t do anything to stop the tears flowing down your face, both your hand coming up to cover your mouth as the happy tears fell. Hobi opened the box to reveal the most beautiful ring you had ever seen. He really put effort into doing the research on what kind of jewellery you liked, talking none stop with your friends and mother to make sure he got the perfect ring.

‘Will you marry me?’ He beamed up at you, crowd going even more crazy, not believing they got to witness this in person. The boys in the back all holding onto each other in anticipation, hardly able to control themselves.

Unable to speak at that moment in time you nodded vigorously, hiding your face in your hands before taking his and pulling him to a standing position. You pulled him into a kiss, hands on either side of his face, while his hands came to rest on your wrists. You were now oblivious to the crowd, deaf to their screams. Right now it was just you and Hobi.

The two of you were only pulled out of the moment when the 6 other boys ran up to you both to congratulate you. Hoseok pulled away and took your shaking hand in his once again, to slip the ring onto your finger. You admired the ring before you felt your lip start to tremble again so you pulled him in for one last hug, which he was happy to accept. Hoseok made sure to cover his mic before whispering to you. ‘We’ll all celebrate properly later ok?’ he nodded slightly before placing a final quick peck on you lips. He placed his arm around your shoulders as he lead you back to the wings, and onto a waiting chair. Good. Your legs were like jelly. He pecked your cheek before quickly running back out onto the stage.

‘Ah she said no guys. Can you believe that?’ He joked as soon as he was back out, causing his members and the audience to laugh. You lightly shook your head, smiling at his antics.

After the show that night you knew you would all be going out to celebrate like he said, and you couldn’t wait for what would come after.

Jungkook’s not supposed to be this invested in the movie.

You had put on a random film as an excuse to cuddle him since he’s been nose-deep in his music. You get it. He has a show he has to prepare for, but he’s been so focused on his performance that he’s been neglecting you.

Jungkook sits with his eyes glued to the TV, enraptured as the main character fights their enemy. His hand was rubbing your side earlier but stopped as his interest grew. You wait patiently for him to continue his light touches, but he never does.

You shift slightly in your spot in hopes to encourage him to pay attention to you. He remains still. You trace his tattoos. He doesn’t spare you a glance.

A small whine leaves your mouth.

“Kookie,” you say, peering at him to see if he looks at you. Unfortunately, he doesn’t seem to hear you over the screaming from the screen.

After your third attempt, you take matters into your own hands.

You climb into his lap and grab his handsome face.

“Please stop ignoring me, Koo,” you pout.

Jungkook’s gaze slowly moves from the TV behind you to your eyes. His eyes begin to crinkle at your expression.

“Have you been trying to get my attention, Princess?” he asks, hands coming up to massage your hips.

You huff, but it’s not from anger. More from anguish and eagerness. “Yes! For the past like… five minutes!”

Jungkook laughs. “Oh? Sorry, babe. The movie’s almost over, okay? Then I’ll give you what you want.”

Before you can reply, he pulls you closer so you’re forced to hug him. He’s quiet as he goes back to his movie, hands languidly rubbing you. However, like before, they eventually still.

You don’t want to be that needy partner who needs affection 24/7, but you’re starting to feel desperate. You’ve been deprived of his attention for weeks, and now a stupid movie has captured your boyfriend’s focus instead.

To make matters worse, he laughed at you. Laughed! As if he thought this is amusing to him, but you’re not amused.

You’re tempted to get up and leave, announcing something about how if he won’t give you interest then you don’t need to be there, but you’re tired of not getting what you want.

You’ve been wanting his attention for so long, and you’re going to get it.

Now.

You push against his chest as you sit up before cupping his face again. This time, you don’t give him time to say much before you capture his lips with yours.

“Wha-Hmph!”

You press your mouth harder against his when you feel him trying to pull away.

His lips stretch in a wide smile into the kiss, chest vibrating from his silent laughter. Finally, after a few more seconds, you pull away.

“You’re ignoring me,” you state matter-of-factly.

Jungkook laughs again, which causes your frown to deepen.

“And you’re laughing at my feelings! Do you not care that you’re in a relationship?” you whine.

Jungkook’s laughter eases as he becomes serious. “Awh, my poor baby. I’m sorry,” he says softly.

He guides you down to kiss you once more. It’s shorter this time.

“I didn’t mean to ignore you. You know how I get when I’m focused,” he explains. You’re aware it’s easy for him to zero in on whatever he’s doing.

“I know,” you sigh, “but I wish you would find some time for me, too.”

He nods in understanding. “I’ll try better.”

Your lips still linger in a pout as you stare at him.

“You’re so cute,” Jungkook chuckles. “My needy princess.”

“I’m not cute,” you argue with a huff. Sadly, you can’t argue the “needy” part.

“You’re very cute,” he insists. He brings a hand up and rubs your cheek softly.

“I just want you to stop ignoring me.” Your voice is quiet. Sad almost.

Jungkook smiles. “You have my attention. That’s all my baby wants, right? You don’t want me to look at anyone or anything else unless it’s you, hm?”

He sounds a little taunting, a little too cocky, but you don’t care. You don’t care if you’re boosting his silly ego or if you’re being selfish. You deserve to feel loved, and you know Jungkook loves you. He’s just been distracted.

You nod repeatedly.

Jungkook repositions you both on the couch, so you’re laying down. He hovers over you, strong arms resting on either side of your face. His long hair dangles down toward you.

“You can have it all, angel,” he murmurs. “You can have all of me. How does that sound?”

“Sounds like a dream,” you say, hands rising to play with his hair and earning you a cheeky smile from Jungkook.

Perseverance. Persistence. Like we always have, like it’s always been. The words that make up TOMORROW X TOGETHER member HUENINGKAI have come together to usher in a wave of change. A profound and resounding wave crafted by a boy that once simply aspired to be a rock.

​When you were all done with the promotional activities of the last album, The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION, you went on Weverse Live and said, “I think we can release this promotion as a movie.” 

HUENINGKAI: I actually wasn’t feeling entirely sure about that last album when we were making our comeback. But now it’s like, Oh, it really turned out well. (laughs) Looking back now, it’s like that lack of confidence made me even more desperate. It really made me feel like, I have to make this work, no matter what! Once I could actually feel the huge amount of buzz around our comeback, I felt more assured and it helped me to work at it harder. MOA and the general public helped me to find that confidence, in that sense. Not that I go out much (laughs) but now there’s a lot more people who recognize me. A friend of mine said they liked “Sugar Rush Ride” and a lot of people liked “Farewell, Neverland,” surprisingly. I feel like I progressively got into the flow of things just from being up on stage and naturally learning from that.

Are there certain things you have to be on stage for to get into the flow properly?

HUENINGKAI: When we’re on a music show, we do the performance there and then review it. That helps me to figure out how it should be done to  some degree. I guess I’m good at that now. I honestly didn’t really get a proper feel for “Sugar Rush Ride” until we started performing it on TV, but I could feel myself getting better the more we went around performing. When I check the first take, I see the parts I need to fix and where I should change my facial expressions. The second take is always better. It’s kind of cringey to see photos of myself and my facial expressions. (laughs) So I don’t look myself up that much, but I need to review when we’re promoting so I can improve.

Your performances of “Invitation” at Weverse Con Festival and “TEMPTED + The Devil I Know” for MIX & MAX were impressive.

HUENINGKAI: Continuing on the theme of the previous album, we worked with songs that fit in with the theme of temptation. Everything about “Invitation” was new for me, including voguing, but we all have long, slender arms, so the dance looked pretty nice. I thought MOA would really love it. “Invitation” also inspired us to vogue in the choreography for our latest single. MIX & MAX portrayed an innocent boy giving into temptation and turning to the dark side. It was key to give the impression of the boy being manipulated to match up with the sounds of a marionette at the beginning, so the acting and gestures were important for that part. The idea was to have the hand painted black represent the devil and then it devours us.

 

​Then there’s plenty of parts in the choreography for the single “Chasing That Feeling” where you convey the meaning of the lyrics more literally, like by making a fist or running. 

HUENINGKAI: Right. Choreography like that’s a lot more challenging. It’s way easier doing a song like “Good Boy Gone Bad” with a concrete theme in place, or “Back for More (TXT ver.)” where we just have to look cool. We’re very aware now what kind of facial expressions will make us look as cool as possible. I had to keep asking about the new single “Chasing That Feeling”: Is this the feeling we’re going for? Is it similar to the BTS song “RUN”? It was a continuous discussion. In the end, I figured out it’s similar to “0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You) feat. Seori” but with a little more yearning. I have to show that yearning in the verse but then express agony in the chorus to line up with the idea of determination and pursuing my desires. And I’m still trying to find the sweet spot for conveying that. A frown gives away too much, so I have to do it subtly while still holding back a bit and not showing it completely, sort of. I might be aware of the nuances, but it’s hard to express it in such a way that people watching will feel that. I’m still working on getting the hang of it. (laughs)

I can really see that you’ve given so much thought into it. (laughs)

HUENINGKAI: TOMORROW X TOGETHER, the band that tries something new every time! (laughs) It’s hard—our group’s always working to defy conventional frames and try out different genres. But every song off the new album is in a different genre, so it’s fun to listen to as a whole. I like every single song, but “Skipping Stones” is my favorite. I think this is really the first time that I’ve loved every track off an album. To be perfectly honest, I never guessed we’d be doing a hard rock song (laughs) but I love how the first track’s metal fit perfectly with the title The Name Chapter: FREEFALL.

It’s crucial that you fully understand and engross yourself in the message of the music when you’re gearing up for a comeback, isn’t it?

HUENINGKAI: Yes. Somebody help me. Please. (laughs) It’s always a tough process, but I get to understand it bit by bit as we go along—getting to know the emotions while singing, then again while dancing. I’m able to perform live once the singing and the dancing are perfect—the facial expressions, too—and at that point, I can finally grasp everything entirely.

This album seems to be an important turning point as far as the storyline goes in the sense that the boys have finally come face to face with reality.

HUENINGKAI: That’s something new in itself, actually—the fact that TOMORROW X TOGETHER has entered the real world. We started out with horns on our heads (laughs) and had a lot of comebacks with various fantasy elements in them, but this time it’s all about the boys coming square up against reality. That’s why the title of the single is so straightforward: “Chasing That Feeling”! (laughs) I have no choice but to keep learning since the concepts change every time.

As you say, you have to keep learning. I can tell that you’ve become an even better dancer lately just by looking at the “Back for More” challenge you did with the dance crew JAM REPUBLIC or when you did the challenge for “Smoke” (prod. Dynamicduo, Padi). 

HUENINGKAI: I guess I was trying to focus more on dancing this year. I think MIX & MAX was sort of the start of that. I danced with YEONJUN but he’s so good that I felt a bit of pressure about it. I talked to the instructor and took some private lessons and sort of tried to be able to dance as well as YEONJUN does. From that point on, the instructors even paid me compliments like, “You’re really getting a lot better.” And then I also had the opportunity to dance solo at our recent concerts. JAM REPUBLIC are … I mean, wow. They’re unbelievable. They really know exactly how to put their bodies to use. Now I know why people say they’re world class! (laughs) It was such an honor. I was eager to show off more of my dance ability and that’s why I said I wanted to do the “Smoke” challenge. I was actually a bit worried because of how challenging that choreography is, so I put in quite a lot of practice. I felt sorry for the performance directing team because I kept saying, “No, again, again, again, again.” We shot it 20, 25 times, but when I got back home and watched the video, I still wasn’t satisfied with it. So I said to them, “I’m really sorry, but can we shoot it tomorrow one more time?” I did it again and again the next day and we finally ended up with a good take that we could upload.

That makes me think of when you said on Weverse Live, “I always realize it whenever I practice dancing, but dance practices never betray me.”

HUENINGKAI: I think, more than anything else, the more I work at my dancing, the better it gets. I’d have to say dance is the easiest thing to get into, in a way. I think anyone can be good at dancing if they just have perseverance. Dancing isn’t just about the dancing itself—I feel like your own personal aura and your facial expressions are really important, too. Even the five members of our group all have their own unique vibe, and we’re all good at doing different facial expressions. When you dance, it’s important to understand what the music’s all about and to be able to take what you’re capable of up a notch and express yourself that way.

So what’s your personal aura like? (laugh)

HUENINGKAI: Mine? Haha—yeah, what kind of vibe do I give off? I’m not too sure myself. (laughs) Whether the single we’re doing is cheerful, or cute, or sexy, I always seem to come across as not bad … or that’s what people tell me, at least. (laughs)

​Mastering the group performances, and the four years you’ve spent together, must have been a continuous process of learning what makes each of you different. 

HUENINGKAI: Ah, the five of us are completely different in every way. (laughs) We’re so different that, when we were trainees, we used to be coached into doing team-building exercises. But we’re completely used to each other now. Time’s the important thing. We naturally got to know each other after living together for so long, and now we’re just like family. I think the quality of our teamwork really shows during concerts. If one of us has to sit out because they’re not feeling well, for example, the rest of us are able to fill in for them. It’s weird, but suddenly we become really good at communicating in situations like that. Things just happen instantly when emergencies come up. (laughs)

In the TOMORROW X TOGETHER: OUR LOST SUMMER documentary, while most of you said that your concert at Lollapalooza in Chicago was the happiest moment for you since your debut, SOOBIN opened up about how he finds it difficult to enjoy himself fully when he needs to be spontaneous. What do you do to help out when every one of the members is dealing with their own challenges?

HUENINGKAI: I sort of get that. The two of us have similar personalities, so I know how he feels. There’s times when I find performing hard too, and at times big crowds can make me scared. My MBTI tests show I’m a complete “I,” and I like being at home. SOOBIN always says he’s sorry because he worries he’s not enjoying himself properly. So nowadays, when we’re on stage, we just … we put our arms around each other’s shoulders and just jump around and have fun. I actually think that happened a number of times during our most recent concerts. When it’s soundcheck time or we want to get people hyped, we’re often glued together, putting our arms around each other and we boost each other up to pump up our energy. I’m actually not very good at empathizing or talking with people. Whenever I’m talking with someone, my first thoughts are about the best way to go about doing things and how to solve things. (laughs) I think it’s best that I quietly help them out by looking out for them and thinking about how I can be doing whatever I can for them.

​TAEHYUN and YEONJUN were on SUCHWITA, and they talked about how you all found some middle ground between your ideas so the group and its members can achieve their unified goal. 

HUENINGKAI: That was a year ago, but I can still recall how I said, “If the four of you want to make it to the top, I’ll be there with you to the very end,” and, “I’ll always be there by your side.”

Do you consider yourself to be a goal-oriented person?

HUENINGKAI: I’m actually not much of a go-getter. I’m more about wanting things to go smoothly. I don’t like to overthink things. But it’s extremely important in this field to be really ambitious. You have to be driven if you’re going to make it to the top. I think it’s thanks to the determination of the other members that I’m progressively becoming more driven myself. I actually have clearer goals now than I did a year ago.

Do you think you’ll ever all be satisfied with the way things turn out?

HUENINGKAI: Umm … It’s possible that might never happen, of course. But I think it’s only right that we keep trying our best. I’ve changed a lot during this whole time. I guess what influenced me a lot was that I want to challenge the kind of image that boy groups have. Some people say boy groups aren’t popular with the wider public, but I wanted to let the world know who we are and prove ourselves. These days, no matter what happens, we’re grown enough to realize that it could always be worse, and we cheer each other on so we can keep working hard. Looking back now, I can see we’ve always worked hard to go further and beyond—like making a new album better than the last, then the next one even better, and on and on. That’s what TOMORROW X TOGETHER is all about, you know? We have to keep on keeping on. “Like we always have, like it’s always been.” (laughs)

The lyrics to “Skipping Stones” seem to sort of reflect the attitude you have as a member of the group.

HUENINGKAI: That’s why I could fully understand the emotions behind the song as soon as I first sang it. (laughs) I feel like you’re guaranteed to be at least a little happy if you just have persistence and persevere. You can get close to accomplishing some of your goals, even if you can’t do them all. If I just work hard, I’ll end up naturally contributing to the group. I should do as much as I can and show the world everything I’ve got. What I mean is, I’m going to go the distance, even if it breaks me.

​Do you feel a sense of reward when you’re on stage? You said at your concert in Seoul that you felt like your whole life had been leading up to that moment. 

HUENINGKAI: That was the best way I could think to express myself at the time. I wanted to convey that feeling any way I could. I said things I wouldn’t normally say because I got all emotional. (laughs) Those three years working myself to the bone as a trainee and since we debuted were all leading up to that moment. (laughs) The tour kicked off in the summer, so we ended up making “Our Summer” the last song, and everyone singing along made me really emotional—because we’re all enjoying our summer now. Here’s what I want to tell MOA: This is our youth. Thank you for spending this time with us. Let’s stay together, forever and ever. I can’t just remove myself from the emotions I feel when I’m up on stage in front of a big, roaring crowd like that. It’s fine when I’m still up there, but once I get back and I’m alone in bed, I feel sort of empty. But then I go to sleep and get back up and I’m okay again, so I just want to keep performing on that stage.

It sounds like that’s what drives you to reach for the top.

HUENINGKAI: I feel like I can keep going for a long time thanks to being with the other members. And I feel really, really proud to be a member of TOMORROW X TOGETHER. I don’t think I could’ve done it if I weren’t a part of this group. I absolutely love our songs and our dances. I’m happy to be a part of the group. I want to be with them. Because I love the five of us.

Other suggestions have already been tackled and explained tactfully, such as gameplay and Career/Story Mode, so here's a list of things and ideas I would like to see in a hypothetical game:

Cover idol:

I think if it’s not BTS or Blackpink, especially for the first game, you’d cause a huge riot. They are far and away the two most popular and recognized K-pop groups of all time, and are basically most Westerners’ gateway to the genre. It makes sense why not them, they’re currently inactive (esp. since BTS are in the military), but I’d argue that you should easily make two cover versions of the game—one with BTS, the other Blackpink. If it has to be one active idol, you could go with many options: Wonyoung, Karina, An Yujin, Yeji, Chaewon, Winter, Seulgi, Sana, Miyeon. It would be cool to have a foreign idol, but it has to be a Korean first, and I’d personally go with Wonyoung. For the Legacy/Legend Editions, I’d pick IU.

MyGM:

You could go three ways with a MyGM mode. Group based, company based, and music show based. All three will have similar gameplay elements, but have different ways and strategies to go about managing a successful group, company or music show. 

MyIdol could be you as a singular group’s manager, scheduling comebacks, concerts, days-off, and so on during a calendar year. There’s a stamina/morale system to balance between working them for profit/popularity and resting them so that none of the members get disgruntled and leave or be sidelined. You’d also have to make decisions for the members’ solo opportunities, line distribution, and more.

MyCompany is larger in scale—you now run an entire company or sublabel (good luck if you’re running Cube or SM lmao). You have to manage every artist’s comebacks and schedules, or else they leave or demand a contract termination. An addition from MyIdol is the ability to sign other idols/artists/trainees on the free agent market and you can add them to existing groups or create new groups with your current roster. 

MyMusicShow would basically be WWE 2K’s MyGM. You’re in charge of a music show/Korean TV station like KBS’ Music Bank or SBS’ Inkigayo and you have to compete with other networks for the best ratings of the week throughout a calendar year. You can negotiate exclusive contracts with other agencies so that their groups can only appear on your programs, as well as managing set designs/TV booking (who wins on your show)/screentime for the artists on your show. 

Universe Mode:

What it says on the tin: you have control over the entire industry and decide who are the top dogs, create special collaborations, send groups on international stages, etc.

Showcase Mode:

Depends on who’s the cover idol: you basically replay some of their most iconic/legendary stages throughout their career. If it were someone like Wonyoung for example, it would include her Very Very Very performance from PD48, that one Love Dive baseball stage, K-Pop Flex 2022, her 2022 Melon Music Awards performance, and so on. You could also do one for whoever’s on the Legend/Legacy Edition cover.

Roster:

Depending on which companies are down for it, I expect all the current 4th/5th gen guys to be available from the start, while 3rd/2nd gen groups are labeled as Legends/Legacy and require some grinding to unlock (with few exceptions). Newer groups would probably be DLC or groups from prominent eras/releases (like 2018 TWICE or 2010 SNSD for example). TheLibrarian’s suggestion of having boy group/girl group only versions is also a possible option, but c’mon, if the NBA and WWE 2K games can include both their men and women’s rosters, I see no reason for the K-pop game not to do the same.

I put so much unnecessary thought into it for some reason, I even tried making concept covers of my own using my ideas and others (they're kinda bad XD). Sorry you had to read through all that.

Jikook Week 12 Complete ✔️(27/02/2024 - 05/03/2024)

Their twelfth week in the military is now complete and Jikook have been just been promoted to Private First Class. It's time to celebrate this milestone with a look back at this week in 2014.

BTS were in the middle of the School Luv Affair comeback. The album was released on 12/02/2014 with Boy in Luv as the lead single.

On the 27/02 BTS appeared on Mnet Countdown.

Also that week they appeared on KBS Music Bank, Music Core, Inkiagayo, MTV Show and MBC Show Championship.

They were working extra hard with back to back performances, radio interviews and fan signs but......

......perhaps the most memorable event of this week wasn't related to work at all. On the 03/03 Jungkook entered high school and all his members turned out to see him off.

It was a big day for everyone. You can feel how nervous, excited and proud not only Jungkook is but also all of his hyungs.

They had just enough time to eat together before they had to move on to the next TV recording.

Jimin also posted a message on Fan Cafe.

Finally on 05/03 Jimin posted two tweets

"The Show Champion pre-record is over.. what should I do now..? -Tae Tae: Food..? Go..?"

so i've been seeing a lot of people ask "what streaming service would want to pick up a show that only has one season left?" and i think that's a really valid question

now i'm not by any means a media analyst nor do i know the inner workings of the streaming industry but maybe my logic could help alleviate some of that anxiety

ofmd has a solid and very loyal viewer base. the ratings of both s1 and s2 have proven that, especially s2. s1 already outperformed in every way by running circles around MCU projects like Moon Knight and Loki, left both SW shows The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett in the dust, and did exceptionally well for a freshman series when going up against existing IPs. now we know that that alone was what got us s2 with max, but even then max/WBD went and slashed the budget by 40% 😬. BUT, even with this limitation and the pacing getting fucked up by rewrites/cut downs for the last three episodes, s2 still came through and delivered record breaking numbers, rave reviews across the board with major media outlets, and outdid their s1 performance that max officially listed ofmd as their max original flagship show. the unfortunate thing however is that none of this made a difference, we still got dropped last minute when the bts crew was already gearing up for pre-production

just because WBD/Zaslav doesn't respect or see the value of the show, doesn't mean other networks/streamers don't. a huge reason why i pushed for apple tv is bc they're a service that i've noticed cares about letting a show do their thing and not as much about viewership. apple tv did get a lot of attention and money from Ted Lasso though, and it was their flagship show for the three seasons it aired. i'm sure their 45 minute per episode season 3 was granted to them mainly because the show brought so much attention to their platform, so i think they'd absolutely do that for ofmd too what with it also being a feel good rom com with positive messages

ofmd also has a huge social media presence. the most recent and very successful example DJenks could use within his pitch is the astroglide incident. within an hour of astroglide tweeting about ofmd, fans are already photoshopping their product into screencaps, editing them into clips, and drawing fan art-- free advertisement delivered to them just because they gave us some attention. the fan tweets with astroglide reached thousands of eyes and astroglide was trending. any service that chooses to pick ofmd up isn't just getting a fanbase that would save them some budget in terms of marketing, but also help them market their lesser known shows too. and Casey Bloys said so himself, albeit very tone deaf and for all the wrong reasons, the twitter gays are the ones who have the power to bring attention to a show (queer word of mouth is no joke)

sometimes all a streaming service needs is a show to push people to subscribe, and i think a lot of these services have good shows but no one is looking for them. ofmd fans are pretty good at browsing through what a service has to offer but you need to give them an incentive, as would any business, that makes them want to spend money. i just think that picking ofmd up is only ever a win for a streamer and it would be stupid of them not to

The Bangtan Gal Chapter 87- Wild N Out

Chapter Summary: Jennie guest stars on the show Wild N' Out with Angelina. Matt Rife tries to shoot his shot with Jennie while he has been in her DMs for weeks.

Author's Note: Wild N Out is one of my favorite shows! If you aren't familiar with it, I highly recommend watching YouTube videos about the show. They have their own channel and have tons of videos for you to get an idea of the different games and banter they have.

This is one of my favorite chapters! It was so fun to write and edit!

If you are easily offended or aren't that into jokes, perhaps this show and chapter are not for you and you are welcome to skip it.

I used some of the lines from the Wild N Out YouTube videos I've been watching to add to the chapter. So I hope you like it! I liked the build up for this. It started tame and then got crazier.

-------- "Your hair~! Finally, she has dyed her hair! You give Justina Valentine a run for her money," Angelina giggled and pulled Jennie in for a tight embrace.

Jennie flew to LA to join Angelina and stay with her for a little while before they flew to Georgia for their Wild N Out recording.

"Haha, thanks sis! I still need to hide my hair from the public. So human hair wigs it is,"

"I'll help you put it on,"

"Jennie! You're here! I've missed you!" Angelina's little brother, Tyrone, pushed Angelina away and went to hug her.

"Rude!" Angelina complained.

Jen laughed. "I'm happy to see you. You're getting taller,"

"I know! I'll be taller than you one day," he grinned.

"I see it,"

"And for the record, she has a boyfriend. So stop drooling," Angelina called him out.

"Still? Aw, when are you gonna break up with him?" he whined, causing Jennie to giggle.

"Dummy, she is not breaking up with him! Nobody is ruining our OTP! Now if you don't mind, we need to catch up, so leave us be,"

"Can you play video games with me later, Jennie?" he ignored his sister who looked offended by that.

"Sure," she beamed. "I'll play some games with you, later on,"

"It's a date!"

"Oh Lord..." Angelina rolled her eyes and grabbed Jennie to drag her to her room.

She shut the door and locked it so her brother wouldn't barge in. Laying on the bed, Jennie joined her and they began to catch up.

"Soooooo, how are the boys? They surviving well without you?" Angelina asked.

"From what I heard, not really. They're struggling a bit," Jen laughed. "But they're doing all right. Just working on the comeback. With Yoongi, Agust D is a huge success. I'm so proud of him,"

"I heard! He has BARS! A to the G to the U to the STD! That song is hot! I heard you played the guitar for a couple of his songs,"

Jen stared at her in surprise. "You noticed?"

"You have a unique sound. It's easy to tell it's you because of how you play. I think it's amazing you're doing that. The boy always has such a soft spot for you. It's so cute,"

"That is true. Namjoon is working pretty hard on the album. A lot is on his plate,"

"Yeah, he told me and kept apologizing for not having much time to talk with me. But it's cool. I get that way when I'm working on new music,"

"To tell you the truth, he's pretty stressed. And so am I. I keep thinking about my song. I just don't think it's going to be well received. Part of me wants to change it but they're not going to do that, everything is set in stone,"

Angelina playfully nudged her shoulder. "I'm sure you'll be fine. You'll be singing your truth and how you feel. Don't even worry about it or pay attention to any negativity. Focus on performing it when you guys go on tour,"

"Speaking of our tour when it's announced, I hope we get to go to more American dates. Big Hit is underestimating how many people around the world want to see us. K-Pop is getting more attention as the years go by. We need a real-world tour this time. Not just Asia, a few places in Europe, and so on. I want to go everywhere and perform with BTS. So, how is life with you?"

"I've been just doing more shows on TV as a guest star and doing collaborations. Also working on the new music. Things are getting there."

"You excited for Wild N' Out, soon?"

"Oh, you know it! I am always~ on that show! Are you excited? You get to have a chance of getting a belt! I'll have you know I won the belt quite a few times,"

"I expect nothing less from you. And yeah, I am excited, too. I'm not much of a rapper although I'm still learning from Yoongi but I hope I can spit a few bars to win some points,"

"You'll do fine. It'll come naturally. I hope they don't roast you too much. Expect them to come after the boys, though,"

"Mentally preparing. I will defend Bangtan's honor. It'll be a fun experience,"

"I really wish I was a part of the cast," Angelina sighed at the idea.

She had been a fan for years and always felt like she could be a great cast member of the show. She nailed it when it came to the games with her quick wit.

"To be a part of the show, ugh that would be awesome. I love the show so much. I feel so...at home there," she went on.

"Have you thought about asking Nick?" Jennie asked as she pondered about Nick Cannon.

"What? No way. I feel like that'll be too...forward. I mean I like being a guest on the show, so it's all right. And like Justina, she is so damn good at what she does on the show. I feel like I can't compare."

"Angelina, you'd be a great addition. Talk to him,"

"Ah...you flatter me. It's all right, just forget about it, okay? Anyway, let's watch a movie. I'm feeling Waiting To Exhale. What do you think?"

"Yeah, let's watch it. I'll make the popcorn,"

Jennie made a mental note to talk with Nick. Maybe she can help her. Angelina was stubborn and too modest about these things. But Jen could give her that extra push.

As Jennie and Angelina watched the movie, they laughed at the awkward sex scene.

"Grr?" Jen laughed. "Oh my gosh..."

"I hate men who do that. It's so weird. Why you so extra with it?" Angelina cringed. "And what's even more embarrassing is that she ain't even enjoying it,"

"Have you had a bad lay?"

"Oh hell yeah! Oh my God, there's this one guy I met at an after-party of an award show, right? Way before Namjoon. He was flirting it up, saying all the right things. He was talking all this mad shit about him having girls not walk the next day, right? This man lasted like 30 seconds and fell asleep. I was so mad. I pushed him off the bed and cussed his ass out for tryna play me,"

"Yikes~! That's uh..."

"I know! I feel like the guys who don't talk much about their skills are the best ones because they know how to put it down. And a lot of these guys I've encountered like to brag about their size but don't know what the heck to do with it. All talk, no action. It's annoying,"

"Damn..."

"But don't you worry. You have nothing to worry about when it comes to that,"

"You have a favorite part when it comes to that?"

"If anything, I would say that pillow talk is the best part for me after everything is done. You'll love it." Angelina said enthusiastically. "I feel like you and Jungkook will just be vibing and enjoying each other's company after that special moment. Watch you two be talking about video games and then end up playing some video games afterward,"

"I mean, it could happen. I see it," she giggled.

"Is Jungkook a cuddler with you?"

"Yeah, all the time,"

"That'll be the best, having you in his arms. You'll see. I usually leave after doing it but with Namjoon, it's so different. I like listening to him. I can listen to him talk for hours. We go into some deep conversations, too. He's so smart,"

"That he is, sis,"

As they continued to watch the film, they watched as Angela Bassett's character put all of her husband's items on fire. Jen was shocked at how real the scene looked as her character yelled and cussed about him.

She shook her head. "He took all the money and left her with the kids. Ridiculous. Divorcing her for that white woman,"

"I know, ain't it screwed up? Men really ain't shit. Wasted all those years of marriage to end up like this? I'd be so mad." Angelina added.

"You and I both,"

And once the office scene between Angela's character and her husband came about, Jen continued to be speechless at how they shouted at each other.

"Man, I'm amazed at how much rage you can have when someone cheats on you,"

"Can you imagine?"

"I can't even imagine it. And I never want to."

As the movie went on, Angelina chuckled after thinking about Matt Rife, "So...Matt really all in your DMs?"

"Yes! Oh my gosh. And he comments on a lot of my stuff, too. I replied to tell him I wasn't interested but he's still trying to spit game and I've been ignoring the messages. Did you see he's following some of my fan accounts?"

"Wow~! How do you think it'll be on the show?"

"I'm hoping it won't be too bad and that he learned his mistakes from Zendaya,"

"We'll see, sis. He wants you bad,"

"I'll let him down gently,"

"Well, if he gets too much, then make sure you embarrass his ass on TV,"

When the movie was over, Jennie spoke, "Hey, you know how I have occasionally talked about wanting a tattoo? I want to get one before I go back to Korea. Big Hit gave me the okay. I want to get the friendship tattoos with you,"

"Oooh! Let's do it. You still have the idea you showed me on your phone, right?"

"Uh huh. We just need to figure out where we want to get the tats,"

Angelina took out her laptop. "Let's research!"

For the Wild N' Out taping, Nick Cannon had excitedly opened up the show and shouted out DJ D-Wrek and the Wild N' Out girls.

"There are two teams battling head to head to see whose the funniest. And usually, it's my team cause I be cheating. I'm just gonna put it out there like that," Nick joked. "And I changed it up this season. We doing it bigger and better. I want y'all to make some noise for my new squad! It's the Gold squad!"

For this episode, the Gold Squad consisted of DC Young Fly, Becky Robinson, Darren Brand, Emmanuel, Karlous Miller, and Matt Rife.

"And we have a very special guest. She is the reoccurring champion here on Wild N' Out, one of the youngest and most successful up and coming rappers today, and can kick your ass if you cross her, give it up for my girl, Angelina~!"

Angelina walked out excitedly, wearing a Gold Squad hoodie, and gave Nick a big hug.

"How you feel!?" he asked.

"Elated man, elated! This my happy place, I love it here!" she beamed, earning loud cheers.

"It's good to have you back. You ready to get down, today?"

"Hell yeah, always,"

"All right, that's what I like to hear!" he replied as she went over to her team. "I can't even front, we got a little bit of competition this episode. It goes down. Y'all make some noise for the team with the dream, it's Platinum!"

The Platinum Squad walked out consisting of Timothy DeLaGhetto, Justina Valentine, Chico Bean, Hitman Holla, Conceited, and Charlie Chips. Nick then proceeded to announce Desiigner as one of the co-captains of the team. 

After shouting him out, he went to announce Jennie. "Now we have another special guest here to represent the Platinum Squad as the co-captain. Someone here to try to take my belt. Not only is she singing in Korean but she is also sticking to her roots and bringing it down in the K-Pop scene! Y'all make some noise for my girl Jennie~!"

Jennie walked out with a big smile, waving at the crowd as everyone cheered. She had on a curly human haired wig that resembled her natural hair to hide the comeback color. Along with ripped jeans, she wore a cropped Wild N' Out platinum hoodie.

"Jennie, today you get a chance to take my belt, how you feeling? You ready?" Nick asked after embracing her.

"Born ready. Let's do this!" she said happily.

"Confident! I like that! Let's get to it then! Platinum squad y'all make some noise for your team captains over here!"

As things settled down, Nick went on to announce the first game. "This is a classic game we like to call Let Me Holla. It's real simple. We bring a Wild N Out girl to the stage, and each cast member gets the opportunity to holla at her. Now if it's funny, it gets a bell. If it's not funny, it gets a buzzer. The team with the most bells wins. Y'all know how we do. Y'all ready? Let's wil' out,"

Once the Wild N Out girl arrived on the stage, Darren Brand suddenly made a dive over to her, sliding on the floor. He then got back to his feet.

"I just slid in yo' DMs," he said, making everyone laugh.

Gold Team- 1 Point

Platinum Team- 0 Points

Next up was Conceited and Hitman Holla to represent the Platinum team as they approached the Wild N Out girl.

"'ight watch this. What's up, baby?" Hitman Holla greeted her with a charming smile, making her giggle. "You remind me of the 20 letters of the alphabet,"

"There's fuckin' 26 letters of the alphabet," Conceited called him out, making everyone laugh.

"Silly me. How could I forget that U, R, A, C, T," he flirted as everyone cheered.

"Okay, that was smooth," Jennie said, impressed with his game.

"No, no, hell no, that's only 25!" Conceited brought up to DJ D-Wrek. "He still missing one! He can't count!"

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Silly me," Hitman Holla apologized before moving in close to the girl. "You can get that D later,"

That statement caused the crowd to go wild along with the cast members who were shooked.

Platinum Team- 1 Point

DC YoungFly strolled over to the girl next.

"Come here shawty," he called out but she didn't budge. "Oh, she tryna play hard to get. Come here shawty. Bring that ass here, girl!"

Platinum Team- 1 Point

Chico Bean pretended that he was ordering something. "Let me get a number two...one three and the rest of them digits,"

The girl didn't seem too impressed and neither did the crowd and he was met with a buzzer.

Angelina casually wandered over to the girl with a smile. "What's up, baby?"

"What's up?" she smiled.

"Now, if I wasn't buying this drink, would you still check me out?" she revealed a can of lime-a-rita which made the girl laugh.

DING

Gold Team- 3 Points

Platinum Team- 1 Point

'Okay, I think I got one,' Jennie thought and stood up, walking over to the girl.

For this, she pretended to look disappointed. She let out a sigh and rubbed the back of her neck.

"Man...I'm so bummed," she said.

"Why is that?" the Wild N Out girl asked.

"I wish we could go to the movies together. But they don't allow snacks in," she replied as she was met with giggles and cheers from the crowd.

Platinum Team- 2 Points

Matt Rife chuckled softly at her pickup line as he gazed at her.

'Man, you are cute...' he thought to himself.

Ever since she walked on the stage, his eyes were on her. He was definitely getting distracted.

With Jennie, she felt that someone was watching her and glanced over to catch Matt staring. He quickly looked away, trying not to make it obvious but she knew what he was doing.

And so it begins.

The question on her mind was, what was he going to do?

As the game progressed, the teams went on to give out the smoothest pickup lines, with Platinum and Gold being tied at five points. Matt Rife approached the stage and the crowd cheered for him, anticipating what he was going to say.

"Wow. You are beautiful," he complimented the girl. "Now, as much as I would like to shoot my shot at you, there is someone else in this room that I've had my eye on for a while now and I want to holla at her instead,"

The crowd and cast got hyped up, anticipating his plan once Matt turned around and put his attention on Jennie.

"Ohhh shit!" Desiigner yelled as Jen's stomach dropped.

"Oh, word!?" Nick shouted.

"Wait! Wait! This is against the rules!" Conceited complained. "It's supposed to be the Wild N' Out girl! Not our co-captain! Leave her alone!"

"Give him a chance!" DC Young Fly defended him.

"He gon' embarrass himself! Zendaya 2.0" Hitman Holla claimed as that made the crowd laugh more.

"No, he not!" Darren Brand spoke.

"Yeah, so chill! I want to see this!" Emmanuel replied, hushing everybody.

Matt had made it very clear ever since Jen was announced to be on the show, that he was quite fond of her and wanted to shoot his shot. He had to at least try to flirt with her. He also wanted to redeem himself from the whole Zendaya fiasco.

"Um, are you serious?" Angelina complained. "She is wayyy out of your league,"

"Aye! You're supposed to be on his side, we're a team," Nick pointed out.

"Here he go," Justina Valentine chuckled while Matt's team cheered him on.

Jen felt her face flush at the commotion. She wasn't expecting to be put on the spot this soon. It was only the first game!

After the commotion died down, Matt went up to Jennie and gently grabbed her hand. He watched as she stood up to face him. His gaze on her grew more intense as he gave her a charming smile.

Yeah, Matt is a handsome guy. But in Jennie's eyes, no one could compare to her man, Jungkook.

"Jennifer Walker...wow..." he checked her out. "Damn, you look so beautiful today,"

She smiled politely as he released her hand. "Thank you,"

"I watched American Hustle Life. I heard you're into older guys,"

Ah, he must have watched the clips of her gushing over Tony.

"I have said that, yes,"

"Now, I'm single and I'm a few years older than you so that's a check off your list. And I hear you have this thing called an ideal type...you talked about what you want in a man,"

"I have," she agreed, surprised at how much research he put into this.

"All your reasons are valid. And I fit the description. But I couldn't help but wonder about your ideal type in a more physical way. I bet you want a man that has experience. Somebody that knows exactly..." he leaned in close. "...what he's doing and how to take care of a queen like you. Somebody that can handle all that. I'm that man,"

His statement caused the crowd and both teams to go wild. So much commotion surrounded Jennie as she processed what he had said. She became amused at his bold statement and maintained eye contact. He was not going to fluster her. No way. 

Oh, how she wanted so badly to say she had a boyfriend on National Television. But she refrained and decided for this game to let Matt have his fun. She'll think of something to embarrass and shut him down in one of the next games. This won't be the last of the flirting.

'Ooooooo he about to die~,' Angelina thought with amusement, thinking about what Jungkook and the rest of Bangtan were going to think of this when this aired.

This was getting juicy. She thought about Jungkook's reaction, how Jennie was going to handle Matt during the show, and if Matt was going to flirt more later on. She decided to let nature take its course and not get involved. Since the Amity days, Angelina would always come to her aid in situations. But over the years, she has seen Jennie hold her own and was interested to see how she was going to handle this Matt situation during the recording. If she could have some popcorn to go with this entertainment, she would as she watched Jennie laugh softly and gently push Matt away since he got a little too close.

He took a few steps back from her light push and asked, "You don't have a boyfriend, do you?"

"And if I do?" Jennie replied smoothly.

"If you do?" he ran a hand through his hair, "Well, I can confidently say that he won't be your boyfriend for long,"

'HA! He is so thirsty! How delusional can you be!?' Angelina thought as she snorted at his response.

Jen couldn't help but chuckle at that. He really thought he had a chance? If he thought she was going to leave Jungkook for him, he was sadly mistaken.

"And what makes you so confident?" she asked.

"You may not hear a lot about the girls I've had and I may not have as many as some of these guys on stage but just know my satisfaction rate is higher. And you can find all that out later if you let me have your number," he offered with a soft smirk.

The crowd hollered at his words and a series of dings were heard.

"Yes! That is what I'm talking about!" Darren Brand praised with Nick.

Once Matt heard the bell for his team, he smiled victoriously and grabbed her hand to give it a soft kiss. Releasing her hand, he sent her a wink and went back to his team, high fiving Nick and some of the other cast members.

'Celebrate while you can Matt. This is far from over,' Angelina thought to herself as she anticipated what Jennie was going to do.

"DJ D-Wrek! Who won that?" Nick asked.

"Gold team got the most bells," he announced as the Gold team celebrated.

"For this next one is a classic game I like to call talking spit. You know how it go. We gon' have some Wild N' Out girls bring out chairs, some water, and some buckets out here. Myself and Miss Jennie are gonna sit down in chairs, fill our mouths with water and each team member is going to get the opportunity to make us laugh so hard that we spit our water out. The team that makes you spit the most, wins the game! Real easy! Y'all ready? Jennie, come on up here, please,"

Jennie smiled and got up from sitting with her team. Taking a seat across Nick, she sipped some water, holding it in her mouth. All she had to do was try not to laugh that much. Hopefully, she can win for her team this time. She wanted that belt.

"Gold squad wil' out!" DJ D-Wrek announced.

Angelina decided to go first, smiling mischievously at her best friend. Jen knew what was up and narrowed her eyes.

"Yo, Jen, I ain't even gonna hold you...I may need to steal a few of them smart-"

Quickly spitting out her water, she shouted, "Hell no!" which made everyone laugh.

"...yeah you know what it is. No, I ain't gonna stunt, mine big in the back, hers big in the front," he went on as Nick was struggling to keep the water in. "Hey, uh, water wet wet and when we put our shirt on we make the neck stretch. I say uh, hey, the water wet wet and when we put the shirt on we make the neck stretch!"

Once DC Young Fly jumped in to do the shoot dance, Nick couldn't help but spit out his water and laugh. Jennie high fived Chico Bean for getting the team the point.

He took out a printed photo of the BTS members and their "coconut" haircuts. "I don't know how you do it, Jennie. Do you ever just stare at BTS and be like, damn! What is with them and that yee yee coconut ass haircuts they got on?" he said, causing her to immediately spit out her water, turning to the side.

Nick spat out his too while she covered her mouth, laughing wholeheartedly.

The audience laughed while Nick spat out the water.

The two battled in a stare down for a moment as everyone watched in anticipation.

As she heard him sing Bangtan's song, she struggled to keep the water in her mouth.

"You didn't spit, yet? Man! That's the only lyric I know. It seemed to be working so FI-RRRRRRREEEEEEEEE~!"

Thinking on his feet, he thought of the other English that he heard from the song. "Everybody say LA-LA-LA-LA-LA! Say LA-LA-LA-LA-LA! I do-ont know the rest of thee-ee woor-oor-oor-ords!" he said on beat for Jimin's part.

Nick pointed at Jennie and it looked like she was about to spit as she covered her mouth, leaning forward. He stomped his feet at a rapid rate while pointing as he stood up. But in the end, they both kept the water in their mouths.

Charlie Chips stood behind her next.

"Keep the water in your mouth if you think Angelina is real..." he said to Nick as Nick nodded and kept the water in his mouth. "Keep the water in your mouth if you think Justina is real...Okay, come over here," he asked for the Wild N' Out girl, Teresa Top Notch, to join him on stage.

"Keep the water in your mouth if you think everything about this is real." he went on, gesturing to Teresa, as Nick continued to do so.

Jennie watched as Teresa spun around and posed, looking as beautiful as ever.

"You see Nick? This is my whole thing," Charlie ended up snatching the wig off Teresa once she began walking away.

She was left in her wig cap which caused Nick to spit out his water and run out of his seat while loud laughter and screams surrounded Jennie.

"Wow...I was not expecting that," Nick said on the mic once he got back in his seat.

As the game continued, both teams were tied up yet again, and this time with Gold catching up to the Platinum team, 4 to 4. 

Matt Rife took the stage and stood behind Nick. Everybody was wondering what he was going to do after the stunt he pulled on Let Me Holla. Anything could happen.

"Now this is a win/win situation for me. So, it's all up to you on how you want to do this, baby girl," he announced, making her confused.

PAUSE!

One, did he call her the nickname Jungkook likes to call her?

And two, what the hell did he mean by win/win situation?

Jennie raised an eyebrow while Angelina began freaking out in her head that Matt called her baby girl.

"If you want me to kiss you, keep that water in your mouth," Matt requested.

Jennie snorted in amusement while making an effort to keep the water in her mouth. Meanwhile, the audience and cast were shooked at his boldness and started freaking out.

"Kiss who?!" Conceited shouted.

"Kiss where!?" Chico Bean added.

"Not this again!" Karlous Miller laughed.

"Matt really got some balls today, huh?" Desiigner laughed.

"She has a choice! If she keeps the water in her mouth, that'll let me know she wants me to kiss her and I'll kiss her," Matt explained. "Spit it out, well then that's one extra point for my team. Like I said. Win. Win,"

Angelina covered her mouth. She mentally saw Matt's grave get dug deeper. She already thought about Jungkook wanting to beat his ass when he watches this episode. Oh gosh, Jungkook. When this episode dropped, she wanted to get all the tea on Bangtan's reactions.

Jennie continued to process what was happening. She felt like Matt was bluffing. There was no way in the world. Not after Zendaya. Another thing was she wanted to win. She did not want to lose this game. Her eyes were on that belt. To take it back to Big Hit and place it in her studio. 

She watched him as he began to walk over to her while the crowd was cheering in anticipation.

"Jennie, spit out that water!" DC Young Fly shouted. "Spit it out, now!"

"Spit it out!" Becky Robinson joined in.

"No~! Hold that water in! We need the point!" Charlie Chips said.

"You sure you want to kiss him, baby?" Justina asked her.

The constant yelling of the teams made the pressure in the situation rise as she continued to keep her water in.

"Don't do it! Resist!" Hitman Holla shouted. "This white boy is not going to win this game! Keep it in the mouth!"

Matt kneeled in front of Jennie. "Make a move, quickly. You gonna accept my kiss or spit that water out?" he teased, raising an eyebrow.

'So, this the game you playing? Bring it. Come closer...I dare you,' Jen thought, narrowing her eyes.

Angelina bit her lip in anxiousness as she watched the scene unfold.

'Girl, what are you about to do?' she thought.

As Matt inched closer to her face, puckering his lips, Jennie ended up slapping him in the face to block his advances. That caused Nick to spit out his water and laugh with the rest of the studio. 

When he got slapped, Matt stumbled to the floor and held his cheek in surprise.

"GIRL!" Angelina laughed out loud, holding her stomach. 

Miss Bangtan never ceased to surprise her. This was hilarious and a perfect reaction.

"REJECTED~!" Platinum squad hollered and jumped up and down in excitement and laughter.

"Damn, can you slap me again? That was hot. Playing hard to get, I see," Matt laughed and got back up on his feet, rubbing the side of his face. 

Jennie looked taken aback by his reaction.

He...liked the slap?

She swallowed the water and spoke in Korean with a smile, saying that he was an idiot for trying that cheap stunt and she was going to punch him if he ever did that again.

"I dunno what she just said but it was hot," he replied with a chuckle.

"Y'all make some noise for our girl, Jennie! Thanks for being such a good sport!" Nick praised and went to high five her once the Platinum team won the game.

"Y'all ready for the next game? It's a fun one, it's called Now You Wild Out. We gon' drop the beat, we gon' bring both teams up and DJ D-Wrek is gon' give us some topics and we wild out and improv about it right on the spot. The team with the most bells wins the game. Y'all ready? Gold team step up. Platinum step up. DJ D-Wrek drop the beat!" Nick announced as an instrumental of 50 Cent's In Da Club came on. "Uh! Come on y'all, uh! Now you wild out!"

"Your topic is going to court," DJ D-Wrek announced.

"Now you wild out!" everyone chanted.

In a whiny voice, Nick started, "I don't wanna go to jail, I don't wanna go to jail, I don't wanna go to jail, now you wild out!"

Pretending to get handcuffed, Chico Bean shouted, "You goin' to jail! You goin to jail! You goin' to jail! Now you wild out!"

"My lawyer's white! My lawyer's white! My lawyer's white! Now you wild out!"

"You bout to be in the cell! You bout to be in the cell! You bout to be in the cell! Now you wild out!"

Scared by his statement, Nick covered his butt and shouted, "Not with you! Not with you! Not with you! Now you wild out!"

"Pause! I'm going out!" Chico Bean quickly walked away, making everyone laugh.

Hitman hesitated and that allowed the Gold team to get another point.

Thinking about Namjoon, Angelina replied, "And I'm beatin' your ass, beatin' your ass, beatin' your ass, now you wild out!"

Her statement made everyone laugh and she got the point for her team.

"Oh, then it's my turn, now!" Matt stepped up.

"Oh, here he goes, about to get embarrassed again," Hitman Holla said, making everyone laugh. 

"I got this. I got this," Matt reassured everyone.

"Would you leave my girl, alone? She's not interested!" Angelina called out.

"Chill~. Don't be a cockblock,"

"She don't want you, dumbass,"

"Your topic is relationships," DJ D-Wrek announced.

"Now you wild out," the audience said while both teams danced to the beat again. "Now you wild out!"

Matt looked directly at Jennie with a flirty smile. "You into white boys? You into white boys? You into white boys? Now you wild out!"

Shrugging, Jen waved him away. "I am but not you, I am but not you, I am but not you, now you wild out!"

Her comment made everyone laugh wholeheartedly while Matt continued to remain persistent.

Dancing to the beat, she remained unbothered. "No way, no way, no way, now you wild out!"

Looking around confused with her team, she stated, "Who lied!? Who lied!? Who lied!? Now you wild out!" she pointed at him.

"I still smashed," he shrugged and jumped to the beat, causing the Gold team to look at him in surprise and get hyped. "...I still smashed, I still smashed, now you wild out!"

Thinking quickly on her feet, determined to not stutter, Jennie dropped it down low, balancing nicely as she moved her hips, knees, and ass up and down to the beat of the song, distracting him as both teams yelled. Laughter around the studio rose in volume when she spoke. "Was it in though? Was it in though? Was it in though? Now you wild out!"

"HEYYYYY, MISS WALKER!" Angelina shouted, loving her performance as she watched Jennie get back up, awaiting Matt's response.

Almost fumbling with his words, Matt managed to say, "M-my dick can definitely hit it right! And my tongue is better, my tongue is better, my tongue is better, now you wild out!"

Putting him out of his misery, Jennie grabbed onto Desiigner, letting him wrap an arm around her while she rocked to the beat with him. With Jungkook on her mind, she replied, "I've had better head, I've had better head, I've had better head, now you wild out!" 

As soon as she pulled that stunt, everyone freaked out, while Matt couldn't think of a comeback for it.

Angelina smiled proudly at her. 'That's my girl!'

"Your topic is graduation," DJ D-Wrek announced as the energy in the room heightened with them both dancing.

"You didn't make it!" DC pointed at him with his team. "You didn't make it! You didn't make it! Now you wild out!"

Yelling and moving his body wildly, DC answered, "A KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KA! A KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KA! A KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KA-KA! Now you wild out!"

Jennie laughed along with the entire studio. What the hell was going on?

Getting hyped like he was in the studio when making music, Desiigner began to do his one of signature adlibs with his team backing him up.

"EEEEEEYAAAA! KI KI AH! EEEEEEYAAAA! Now you wild out!"

Jennie loved that no one questioned it and went along with what those two were doing.

Moving his body vigorously with his team following him, DC shouted, "BOOP-BOP-BOP-BOP! BOOP-BOP-BOP-BOP! BOOP-BOP-BOP-BOP! Now you wild out!"

Determined, Desiigner crossed his arms. DC was speaking his language and he was not having it. He was going to win this battle.

Moving in rhythm, he responded, "Whoop-de-scoop, whoop-de-scoop, whoop-de-boop! Now you wild out!"

"You stupid! You stupid!" DC walked away, allowing the Platinum team to get the point although Gold had won the game.

Their time on Wild N Out began to come to an end as they went on to the final round. Wildstyle. Jen had a blast and hoped that one day she could come back with better rhymes and play different games.

"We got Jennie and Desiigner holding it down for the Platinum squad while we got Angelina on the Gold squad, give it up! It's time for the bonus round and it's called the?" Nick announced.

"Wild-Style!" the audience shouted.

"Yep. Freestyle rapping here at Wild N' Out. We focus on them jokes so each punchline is one point added to your total score. So, the game can go either way. It's anybody's game, right now. Gold squad step up. Platinum squad step up. DJ D-Wrek, drop the beat!"

Once the beat started with both teams on stage, everyone moved to the beat while Nick encouraged the crowd to clap their hands.

"Uh. Clap your hands, y'all. Clap your hands, y'all. Yo, Miss Jennifer Walker, you a real big talker. After you left Amity, we forgot who you are. But don't worry, I'm sure Angelina can still make you a star,"

Jennie turned to Tim and smiled in reassurance, telling him she got this, and turned back to Becky. "Bitch, I'll go back to my amazing Asian boys after I win this belt. You got three seconds to get the hell out of my face before you get a welt. Trashier noise? Girl, be for real. Compared to you, our music brings more appeal. You wouldn't last a day in Bangtan's shoes, let's make that clear. Bangtan is selling out venues faster than your career."

Everyone cheered loudly at her response while Becky broke out in laughter and nodded. Jennie high fived Tim as he cheered her on.

"Outrageous? You know you want a demonstration! After that, you'll be asking for a bae-cation," he smiled confidently.

"Cute. DJ D-Wrek, can you cut the beat, real quick?" she requested as a series of oohs were heard. 

Angelina placed a hand over her heart, in surprise. "Nani!?" she exclaimed.

Oh, he was done for. Jennie was getting mad. She could tell by the annoyance on her face.

"Hm. Okay..." Jen prepared her thoughts and looked directly at him. "Matt, get it through your thick skull that I don't want you. I am not Zendaya from Disney, I can punch the shit out of you," 

Angelina continued to have her hand placed over her heart as she stared at her best friend in astonishment. She had leaned back as her reaction was priceless and was about to become a new meme.

Out of nowhere, Jennie began to speak in Korean, which made Matt look at her in confusion. She had talked about what a joke he was and turned to the camera to give Bangtan a shoutout and that she would be back in Korea soon.

Switching back to her native tongue, she put him out of his misery once and for all. "You ain't the first, you ain't the last but just know you will not be the one to smash. You might as well give up just like the others. All hot and bothered cause you can't get me under the covers. You only think with your second head so think of a new plan. But let's face it, Jennie don't want you, one minute man,"

After she finished, she dropped the mic. The studio was filled with loud hollers and laughter while Matt's face became flushed as he chuckled.

DJ D-Wrek repeatedly pressed the bell, indicating that it was all over.

DING DING DING DING DING DING DING

Angelina had cheered with the cast and she ended up falling dramatically on the floor during the commotion. Meanwhile, Desiigner got excited and patted Jennie on the back, praising her.

"Yo! DJ D-Wrek! Who won that!?" Nick shouted after everyone calmed down a bit and Angelina got back on her feet.

"I got to give it to the platinum squad! Make some noise for the platinum squad, yo!" he announced over everyone's cheers.

"Woo!" Jennie jumped up and down, excitedly as she celebrated with her team.

A Wild N Out girl came on stage with the belt and presented it to Jennie after she went to hug Nick.

"She came through and took my comedy championship!" Nick announced as she happily accepted the belt and raised it up in the air in victory. He then shouted out Desiigner and Angelina.

Jen let out a content sigh. This was awesome. She was glad she was able to do this, today. And now she got to take this title home. Another award for BTS.

"What do you want to say?" Nick asked her as he gave her the mic.

"This has been such a fun experience, thank you so much for having me! And shout out to BTS and BTS ARMY, I love y'all! Thank you!" she said.

She then switched to saying thank you in Korean for the boys and reiterated that she missed them and would be back very soon. After bowing, she was then hugged by Angelina and had her hand raised in victory.

"That's what we talkin' about! Everybody on they feet! And make some noise for Desiigner~!" Nick announced as he closed the show with a performance.

After recording, Jennie hung out with the cast to take pictures and discuss the show. The vibe was full of high energy as they laughed about their favorite moments and roasted Matt for being rejected. What Jen loved about it was that there were no hard feelings and people didn't take any of the disses seriously. If only more people could vibe like this.

"You did well! Great job, today!" Nick Cannon praised her.

"Aw, thank you! It's harder than it looks to think quickly on your feet. You guys got that," Jen grinned.

"It is but you held your own. Especially on wild style," he laughed at the memory of her calling Matt a one minute man. 

That was the utmost disrespect and a huge blow to his ego.

"Ha! Had to hit him where it hurts. Can we take a selfie?"

"Yeah, let's do it,"

Taking out her phone, she gave it to him so he could raise it in the air for a quick photo of them smiling happily. She'll make sure to post it after her little social media break is over.

"Thanks so much for having me. This was a fun time," she beamed.

"Anytime! We hope to see you and Angelina back on the show sometime,"

"Most definitely. And speaking of Angelina, she really is in her element on your show, huh?"

"Got that right. In the last episode, she was in she went off on everybody. It was one of the highest-rated episodes to date. She a real gem,"

"That's Ang for you. One of the best. Have you thought about adding her as a cast member? She'd be a great addition!" she suggested excitedly.

She watched as Nick smiled at the idea and he discussed how well she would hold her own in the games with clever clapbacks and rhymes.

"She really would be a great addition, wouldn't she? I'ma talk to her. You think she'll want to?" 

"Absolutely! She will accept with no hesitation,"

Jen felt pleased that it seemed like he was highly considering having Angelina join the cast. She hoped it went well when he talked with her. She knew how much it would mean to her if she got to be a permanent cast member.

Following some photos and mingling with other cast members, Jen went to hang out with Desiigner who still had a large grin on his face. What she loved the most about him was how positive he was and how happy he looked. His energy was infectious.

"Mama, you funny as shit. You a savage,"

She laughed. "Thanks. It was so fun teaming with you,"

"Likewise, mama,"

"I also think it is so dope and inspiring with what you accomplished. We're nearly the same age and you out here making moves ever since Panda dropped. I hope I can make an impact like that with my music,"

"I 'preciate that. It's all about the music and what we love to do. We both young and hungry in this industry. We gon' make it big,"

"Got that right. Heck, we could even make a few songs together,"

"Oh, hell yeah. For sure,"

The two took photos together and then with Angelina. Desiigner then took out his phone to take an Instagram video.

"Yoooo! With my girls! Beautiful black queens! Jennie and Angelina! You know what time it is! Wild N Out! Stay tuned, it's comin' out real soon! Ya-a-a!" he laughed.

"Platinum squad~! All day!" Jennie stuck her tongue out.

"Err-day!"

"Gold squad!" Angelina repped her team.

"Boooooo!" Jennie and Desiigner playfully said before they all laughed.

"Y'all some haters," Angelina playfully rolled her eyes and walked away from them as the video ended.

Once Desiigner went off to goof around with DC Young Fly, Matt approached her with a nervous smile.

"All right, I got the hint. I apologize for coming all over you like that," he chuckled nervously.

He did look pretty apologetic with his face looking a little pink.

"It's okay," she responded.

"B-but just know I'll still wait for you if you ever change your mind,"

She laughed. "Well, you'll have to wait forever,"

"Damn..." he sighed in defeat and nodded.

"I have a boyfriend, that's why," she proudly told him. "After rejecting you quite a few times as well as in the DMs, I thought you'd got the hint,"

"Wishful thinking,"

"Regarding my man and I, we're keeping things private until we are ready to announce it,"

"Okay, I respect it. Damn, whoever he is he's lucky,"

"Nah, I'm the lucky one," she smiled as she thought of how much she missed Jungkook.

"Man...your boys, especially your boyfriend and fanbase gon' kill me, huh?" he chuckled nervously at the thought, rubbing the back of his neck.

BTS MOMENTS: OT8 - CHRISTMAS COOKIES

It was difficult to plan Christmas around being a member of BTS. Their diaries were planned to the last second, December being the worst month with performances and award shows, two members’ birthdays in between and barely getting to see your family. In the early days, there was no money to do anything, now there was no time. 

Christmas was important as well. Grace had grown up in a mixed household in England where Christmas was all about spending time together, eating food, Christmas shopping and presents, and decorating the tree. Koreans did things a little differently but her mother made sure that was Christmas still the same until Grace entered the idol world.

And from there Grace had to take what time she could.

The dorm always had a tree, stuck in the corner near the large windows, decorated in a mix of red and gold. There would be a hint of Christmas in every room including the bathroom where she swapped out the towels for Christmas themed ones. Every bedroom door had a wreath hanging from it, decorated and designed to match who it belonged to. 

Dinner and presents were never an option as they didn’t have time so it was always done at the company where they could spend time with staff who had given up their own Christmas’ for whatever BTS was doing. 

This year, Grace was determined it was going to be different. 

They had three days off where they could enjoy Christmas, albeit a little early. 

She had gone into full Christmas mode - starting with her mother’s famous gingerbread cookies. 

“Oh it’s started,” Jimin grinned as he came out of his bedroom, still looking half asleep as he wandered into the kitchen. “Ooh gingerbread.”

“Don’t even think about it,” Grace gently slapped his hands away from where some gingerbread cookies, shaped like stars, were chilling on the counter after being in the oven. “I’ve got plenty to make and I’ve got some decorating things if you wanna decorate them.”

“Let me call in the reinforcements then,” Jimin spun around and headed back down the hallway. 

Taehyung was first, already awake and showered with a Christmas jumper on then Hobi followed soon after, pulling a ridiculous Christmas hat. They turned on the music speaker that was near the TV, putting on the classic Christmas playlist they found on Spotify. 

The two of them soon cleared off the dining room table, Jimin joining them after taking a quick shower himself. 

Namjoon clambered out of his room at the sound of the noise coming from the kitchen, taking one look at the chaos before grinning and soon returning dressed and ready to go. 

And finally, the last three slowly crawled out of their pits to join in on the Christmas cookies. Most of the cookies went into six mouths while Seokjin and Grace took over the kitchen, getting more cookies out and starting to organise their Bangtan dinner.

It wasn’t much in terms of a Christmas weekend but it was enough for them to spend time together, Christmas cookies, dinner and movies and do nothing for three days until their manager came knocking.

Ch.01 < Series Masterlist > Ch.02

As usual whenever the award season started you barely had any time to breathe, you would wake up at 4am and get home at midnight and that’s if you were lucky and had some help from the otherwise useless people you found yourself calling colleagues.

You had just sat down at your desk for the first time on your 8 hour shift when your attention was already being called away.

“I need the speeches subtitled within the next 30 minuets otherwise you’ll have to stay late today.” You turn towards your manager who was staring at you blankly, her demands confusing you.

“I sent them in last night, Min confirmed she rece..” Before you could even finish your sentence your manager had begun walking away, her attention refocused on something far less important.

You sighed as you leaned back in your chair, your mind wandering for a few precious moments. You hadn’t always wanted to work in this industry but when the opportunity presented it to yourself two years ago you was elated. It was your dream then, to be around high class people, with an exciting job, the opportunity to use your language degree for something other than journalism.

However. you soon realised it wasn’t all that it was made out to be.

You had lived in America for some years before, it was where you finished getting your English degree. Your mother had been ecstatic, her only daughter having such a high degree and studying abroad. Although, coming home, back to South Korea, it felt different.

You realised you wasn’t the same person you was before but out of fear of facing disappointment you continued translating, you still remember the way your parents faces lit up when you told them about being hired by a small tourist firm, you stayed there for six months but the company eventually went bankrupt.

You hated being jobless, the thought of having no income scared you, your parents assured you they would be able to help with your costs, they wasn’t rich but they was comfortable enough to make sure you didn’t starve but even so you denied and thankfully found another job in journalism.

You loved it, you mostly spent your days writing about the greatest things in South Korea, you had grown to love writing and eventually you got promoted, reporting on random K-pop groups, you would have been happy to stay at the publishing company but the pay wasn’t great and slowly your bills grew higher and higher, you know you’d had to find another job and that’s how you ended up here.

The great world of translating awards and TV shows.

A light thud hit the back of your chair, forcing your eyes awake. “Are you actually sleeping right now?”

You groaned at the sight of your best friend. “I’m resting okay Na-rae, Ji-sung has been on my back all day.”

“When isn’t she.” You watch as she sat beside you, spinning around in the desk chair as she spilled her daily gossip, you tried your best to focus but every day there was a new drama and slowly you became uninterested.

“So I heard there’s been a change to the line up.” She wiggles her eyebrows.

You laugh at the way her face moved. “Great so that means I’ll have to change the subtitles again.”

She rolls her eyes, offering you gum which you decline. “Are you not even interested in who it is?”

“Not really.” You admit, for you the glamour had worn off but you could see her excitement so you did what any good friend would do. “Tell me before you explode, you look like a tomato.”

“It’s BTS.” She screams in a hushed voice.

It takes you a second to digest the newest addition, you would be lying to say you wasn’t shocked, everyone know who they are, they are not just popular in South Korea the same way others are, they are global.

“Are you sure?” You ask a little cautious of the news.

She nods excitedly, “We had a call today from their manager confirming they would be attending, they sent in their speeches for you to translate them.”

She hands you a wad of paper, it’s much thinner than you’d think considering it was 7 people, and for 7 awards. “Wow, well I hope this doesn’t stop people working, you know how it gets anytime someone even remotely popular comes.”

“Do you remember when Ji-sung wanted to give Jin her number when she helped record that one interview?” You both giggled at the thought of your manager hounding a man who wasn’t interested.

You looked around before continuing to whisper. “You know she still talks about that right.”

Na-rae snorts “She says it was her chance at love.”

“More like Sugar Daddy” You comment, your laughter dying down as you listen to the daily announcements.

You’re surprised when you hear your name being called to the front desk. You said a quick goodbye to Rae before rushing down the stairs, not wanting to keep whoever it was waiting.

You look around the small waiting room but don’t see anyone, you walk back to the main desk, leaning over to get the receptionists attention. “Jae-ssi I was called down do you know anything about it?”

“In the first room, take this.” He hands you a folder and you give him a small bow before walking towards the room. None of your questions being answered.

You walk in and close the door behind you, turning to the few people waiting in the room. You pause momentarily as you recognise the faces in front of you but you remember your professionalism before quickly introducing yourself.

“Please sit. We’ve only come to discuss the performance, we was told you could be of help.” You nodded, he looked so much different in person.

“Im Kim Namjoon, this is Jung Hoseok and that’s our manager” He introduces himself and the others in the room although it wasn’t necessary, you bow to them all quickly before taking a seat.

“I’m not sure why I was asked to take this meeting, in all honesty I’m sure the technical team would be best.” You explain quickly flicking through the folder you had been handed.

You smile at both Namjoon and Hoseok, although the excitement of the job has lessened the fact that Grammy nominated artists were in the same room as you was still amazing.

“They said that you do the subtitles and we wanted to check and make sure our speech was received well.” Hoseok explained, his voice was smooth, much calmer than you had heard before, although that wasn’t uncommon with idols.

“Ah yes, I deal with translations here, I haven’t actually had a chance to review your speeches yet I only received them about 20 minuets ago.” You felt a little embarrassed, maybe they had expected you to be finished already.

They both nodded and their manager stepped up to explain. “The members would like to discuss the speeches with you directly, we wouldn’t want anything to be twisted or subtitled out of context.”

You didn’t need to be an idol to know that it was common for translators to edit the words of the artists. Usually to fit their narrative.

“I understand completely. I was nearly finished for the day but I’d be happy to talk with you about each acceptance, let me just step out and get my laptop.” You waited for their agreement before leaving the room, the last thing you wanted to do was appear as rude.

You didn’t waste any time in rushing back to your desk, grabbing your laptop and notepad before returning to the meeting room.

You quickly took your seat and set your laptop up, silently hoping someone would break the silence.

“Did you fly there.” Your hands paused as you looked up, Hoseok was smiling at you and you laughed at his attempt to make a joke.

You shook your head. “I wasn’t that fast.” You waved your hands and grabbed your pen ready to take notes.

“So what do we do?” Namjoon asked, his head turning towards his manager.

You would have thought they would have done this hundreds of times by now. “Well you tell me what you want to say, I write it down and ask for any clarification or explanations if I need any and then I’ll go off and translate it.” You explain before their manager can get a word out.

“Exactly. I’m Sejin.” You smile at their manager who name had a name.

You started taking notes of everything Namjoon and Hoseok said, you could tell they was speaking slowly and you wasn’t sure if it was to give you a chance to write or to make sure you didn’t misconstrue anything.

Either way you was grateful, usually idols would talk faster than you could even comprehend what they was saying. You only realised an hour had passed when your laptop alarm went off, informing you the staff meeting was about to start, thankfully you knew Ji-sung would kill you if you left members of bts to attend.

“Do you have to go?” Hoseok asked, his eyes looking towards the clock.

You shook your head following his gaze. “No, if anything I’m happy to be in here.”

“Yeah that’s normal.” Namjoon sighed earning a sharp look from their manager. You was taken back by his tone, you had silently began questioning if you had done something wrong but it was always best to just ignore things like that.

“So is there anything else you’d like to add to any of the speeches? Any captions you’d like?” You ask, your eyes scanning your notepad.

Your attention was drawn back to the men in front of you when you heard Namjoon cleaning his through “I’m sorry.” He apologised.

You shook your head giving him a soft smile. “It’s okay, I can imagine people are usually thrilled to be in a room with you.”

“Usually it’s that and then some.” He says in English, you can’t help but laugh at the sudden change in language.

“Well I promise that I’m more excited about going home than I am about being in this room.” You respond back to him in English.

“You know not all of us are fluent.” Hoseok sighs hitting Namjoons arm.

“I’m sorry Hoseok-ssi.” You apologise a little afraid you had upset the man.

Namjoon exaggeratedly rolled his eyes. “Don’t worry about him.”

You nodded at both of them before standing. “If that’s all then I guess I’ll be going. I wouldn’t want to hold up your day unnecessarily.”

“Well we are also here to do a soundcheck so I wouldn’t worry too much.” Hoseok explains and suddenly your worry dies down a little.

Namjoon holds the door open for you and you bow to him. “Thank you for giving this so much attention.”

You wave your hands at him. “It’s no problem, I’m happy to give you some peace of mind. If there’s anything else you need please let me know”

You watched as he looked around, his face confused. “You could show us to the stage, this is a new building and we are lost, the woman from before disappeared when she showed us the room.”

Of course, you was also now apart of a welcoming committee “It’s this way.” You pointed ahead of you and began walking, the idols close behind.

“So have you worked here long, it must be fun.” Hoseok asks, you could tell he was just trying to make small talk but you indulged him.

“It’s okay, good days and bad days just like everything.” You explain honestly.

He Hums at your response before asking his next question. “Don’t you get excited being around the idols all day?”

You didn’t have to think too long before responding. “At first it was fun but just like when you got a new toy as a child the excitement wears off, having to translate so many times because speeches get changed often becomes tiring. What about you, is the idol life really that great?”

You open the door and lead them down the entrance to the stage as Hoseok replies. “Good days and bad days just like everything.”

You raise your eyebrows at the way he used your earlier words but you give out and laugh at the way he was grinning.

“Well here you are.” You turn to Namjoon, Hoseok and Sejin as you opened the last door to the stage for them.

It was unusual for idols to come in and check their speeches or to practice on stage beforehand, you could see they cared for their jobs and that was refreshing to you.

“Thank you for all of your help.” Hoseok smiles at you, Namjoon and Sejin walking off, you guessed to find the other members, if they was recording they all had to be there.

“Its my Job.” You explain, not wanting him to feel like you took extra time to be with them.

He presses his lips together, a silence grows between you for a few moments before he responds. “Can I ask you something else?”

You give him a small smile. “Sure.”

“Was English hard for you to learn? I’ve been trying to learn for Army but it’s not going well, the teachers our management team get for us are always far too advanced.” He rubs his neck before adjusting his sweatshirt.

No one had ever asked you about your degree so his question was something you considered for a moment. “I think it’s more about the reason you want to learn, at the time my reason was strong, it was my passion and i wanted to use it for something good, I pushed myself to study every day. Exposure helps too. I’m sure your fans love you wether or not you know English.” You give him some reassurance, no one should ever feel less for not knowing a language.

“Thank you. I should go.” He looked behind him momentarily before tuning back to you, you could see more figures moving around but you didn’t pry.

“Of course, I’m sorry if I distracted you.” You smiled, walking towards the exit door.

“You didn’t, it was nice talking to you, have a good day.” He nods towards you before turning around, you rush out of the door not wanting to intrude any longer.

It isn’t until you sit back at your desk that your brain processes the last two hours, everything feeling more real.

You wanted to focus on your work but Na-Rae had other ideas. “Where was you?”

“Okay so you won’t believe this.” You pull her down into the seat beside you.

“What?” She tuts, turning the chair to face you.

“I just met Namjoon and Hoseok.”
