I’ve talked about this before but the scene where Eddie comes home to Buck after a date w Ana is actually so fucking special to me,,, like the way they act like a married couple talking about their kid. If you erase from your memory what he was doing before, you could eaaaasily think he’s coming back from work and asking his husband if their kid is asleep and if there’s any dinner left bc he’s hungry
Casually telling him “you’re a miracle worker” while rolling his sleeves, and Buck smiling fondly, leaning on the corner, going “I’m just a good negotiator.” It’s insANE actually, like properly crazy.
Mind you they’re supposed to be best friends & Buck’s allegedly doing him a favor watching Chris, yet I’d be willing to bet he had been cooking, and watching tv barefoot in cute lil socks before putting his child to bed and tucking him in with the promise that his other dad would come home soon enough to read him a story
Married, coparenting– it’s all insane behavior for the directions I’m assuming they gave them. Like what did the director say to Ryan and Oliver????? HOW WAS IT SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE IF NOT IN LOVE ???
So, how long was it between Buddie meeting, and "not a guest"?
probably like under a week to be honest. within a fucking day Eddie was dropping hints about being single and after like a month or two he was inviting buck with him and Chris to see santa so like...somewhere in between I would say
still trying to wrap my head around the fact that the couch metaphor all stemmed from a seemingly throw away comment in 5x13 i am so deeply obsessed with the writers of this show
"i think you mean your last 2 girlfriends came with couches" HMMM I WONDER WHO ELSE HAS A COUCH WHO'S IN A POSITION TO ENTER A RELATIONSHIP WITH BUCK. THAT COUCH, MIGHT I ADD, THE ONE HE FEELS COMFORTABLE ENOUGH TO SLEEP ON WHENEVER. WHAT A MISTERY HOW EXCITING I CANT WAIT FOR THE REVEAL
Tonight's episode was amazing...Buck running away from everyone to go hide at Eddie's place and then finally fall asleep there in a matter of seconds??!! After all, it's Eddie's house and he's not really a guest!
As seen through interactions with May and Linda, Eddie is well liked in the Dispatch office.
Buck to Eddie: "You’re my problem. Your comfort level. You’re – you’re not supposed to just walk in here like you’ve been here for years. There’s supposed to be a getting-to-know-you period. You’re meant to respect your elders.”
Eddie to Buck: "I in no way meant to, uh, be too familiar or step on anybody’s toes."
So Eddie's friends at Dispatch are both girls and he's made the gay dispatcher feel displaced/threatened. HMMM.
How's therapy, Eddie Diaz?
My cousin is watching 911 and I told her about buddie and she's only at the episode where Maddie says "so does this boy crush on Eddie mean you're finally ready to move on from Abby?" And she was like idk he just brushed it off maybe it's just a fan thing, and I'm like well first of all, the fans are correct. But 2. Oh honey you've got a big storm coming
eddie, who made buck his son’s legal guardian, who allowed himself to be vulnerable in front of buck in ways he’s never been in front of anyone else, who gave buck a place, a home for the first time in his life (“it’s eddie’s house, i’m not really a guest”), who coparents his child with buck, who loves buck unconditionally, with everything in him, despite it all, because of it all: i’m a nester. i want to build a life with someone i love. a slow burn. i don’t want a ready made family. i want it with my best friend.
buck: :((( he’s gonna raise a family with tommy in the sky in their helicopter house :(((
"I'm a nester, I nest" Eddie Diaz says. The Eddie Diaz who was taking Buck to family outing months into knowing him. The Eddie Diaz who handed his kid over to his best friend and stated his trust on him even after a situation where no one would blame him for being cautious. The Eddie Diaz who had abandonment issues incarnated laughing and saying "this is Eddie's house, I'm not really a guest". The Eddie Diaz who signed a document offering his child to someone he knew for 2 years at best over because of how much he loves him. The Eddie Diaz who's extremely careful about who he lets in his house but somehow gave Buck a key. The Eddie Diaz who leaves Buck with Chris without a worry in his mind. "I'm a nester, I nest" Eddie Diaz says as he invites Buck into the nest to help him. Who you trying to fool, man????
