It's so surprising to me when people talk like Andrew genuinely hates Aaron. When like. He loves him. Fiercely. Until Neil, there wasn't anyone he cared more for.

He gave up the life he wanted for Aaron before they even met. Moved halfway across the country just for him. He killed for him. Spent years attached to a teenage promise and hyper protective to a fault.

Yeah, he hates him a little. Dislikes him most of the time. But there is so much love bleeding from each interaction, in Andrew's own weird and fucked up way, that I don't know how so many people (both in the story and in the fandom) miss it.

Thinking about Neil and Andrew's house again and getting emo. Like they had their own places when they were on different teams. I think they'd be the type to take one another shopping for those apartments wanting to make sure they're good for one another. Andrew's apartment was near a running trail, Neil made sure that there was roof access on his. Stuff like that.

Then they finally get on the same team and they're getting a place together. Neil wanting a fenced in backyard, Andrew wanting something with a porch, Neil wanting a walkout basement, Andrew wanting a lot of natural light, and they both want at least a 2-car garage.

They never intentionally decorate but they've just accumulated stuff. Gifts from friends, things they saw and grabbed on road trips, gifts to one another, and now it is all in one place. Rearranging their furniture over and over again until they like it. Doing DIY on a lot to make it exactly how they like it.

Kevin keeps mentioning how their backyard would be perfect for a vegetable garden and they both make faces and never do that. Getting a couch that's perfect for sitting close or far apart depending on the day. Guest rooms for when friends visit that they decorate utterly annoyingly just because Aaron said something one time about it being so boring so now there's a cross stitch hung above the guest bed that Andrew did himself that says 'Home is where the heart is' with two little knives underneath.

Just space to do with what they want that is completely theirs.

thinking about andreil in one of those soulmate aus where the first words your soulmate says to you are written on your body, because their first words to each other are "better luck next time" and "fuck you."

and like, it's messing me up thinking about their lives and how they'd be impacted by having those words written on them.

neil's words "better luck next time" written across his chest becoming another way for his father to hurt him, because neil isn't good enough and apparently he never will be, even for his soulmate.

andrew's words "fuck you" written on his wrist, causing the adults around him to treat him differently even before he's old enough to understand what the words mean. (and then, when he's old enough, knowing that they're the reason.)

on the run, neil's mother being so adamant that he never meets or socializes with girls because she's convinced that his soulmate will betray them.

andrew growing to hate the words on his arm and deciding to get rid of them, and feeling more and more resentment for his soulmate every time the words come back through the scars.

neil keeping a bandage over the words on his chest even when he doesn't keep the rest of his scars covered because he can't stand to see the words taunting him when he catches a glimpse in a mirror.

andrew hearing people tell him the words so often that they lose their meaning as a soul mark, until he starts to think he doesn't even have a soulmate and instead they're just how the whole world feels about him.

so the first time neil tells him, "fuck you," he doesn't even notice how the words burn under his skin.

but the first time andrew tells him, "better luck next time," neil feels that icy chill searing the words across his chest, and the thing that gets him to agree to come to palmetto is a morbid curiosity, a sick need to find out exactly how andrew is going to stab him in the back.

shiv's motivations for voting to pass the gojo deal are so layered and i don't think they should be dismissed in favour of any one interpretation. shiv desperately grabbed on to a lifeline for her relationship with tom. shiv was the deciding vote and she couldn't bear to hold the crown only for a moment just to place it atop her brother's head. shiv knew she would have more influence as wife of CEO rather than sister of CEO. shiv absolutely hated seeing kendall crystallize into logan before her eyes, especially when he made roman bleed ("and if we did kill him we get to go to bed") -- succession has always been about siblings so of course she tried to free her brothers before her child. shiv still thinks she can raise her child with all the material benefits of being the daughter of waystar CEO while doing better by her, whatever that means. and all of those things are true

"Baltimore reunion scene" this "shower scene" that you know what the actual best, most underrated andreil scene is? The scene on the bus in the kings men where Neil and Andrew sit together and spend three hours just talking. Neil, the pathological liar, spent three hours giving Andrew truthful information for free. Andrew, who's so withdrawn he quit taking for days and no one noticed, gave out details of his life, for free, for three hours. No games or trades involved.

Just a reminder that listening to Hozier and not caring about politics is not something you can do. You can't listen to his music and not care about the world. You can't just ignore the political messages in his music. A big part of Hozier as an artist, and as a person, is bringing awareness to different issues and standing up for human rights. You can make jokes about him being otherworldly and a tree man because yes, a lot of his romance and morbid songs surround the physical earth it self but you cannot take away the years he's spent discussing human rights issues. He didn't spend 10 fucking years creating incredible albums riddled with songs like Take Me To Church, Nina Cried Power, Foreigner's God, Cherry Wine, and Eat Your Young just to have the political context, a.k.a the heart and soul of those songs, to he ignored. His "aesthetic" is not fairies and forests and skinny white girls in pretty dresses, his "aesthetic" is confronting the government and its corruption to shine light on issues that have been ignored for decades. You can't listen to Hozier and claim to love his music while not paying attention to the world around you.
