To not get overwhelmed with to many projects and getting them finished as quick as possible I want to try working more time efficent.

Once you pick a slot we will discuss what you want but I won't start working on it until the pre-set date. Once your date comes up, I'll provide you with updates until your comission is done^^

hello and welcome to twinsoftheday!! this is a blog that documents sets of twins from various media for no reason other than that i thought it would be fun. inspired by blogs such as @canonlgbtcharacteroftheday, @canonlgbtcharacters, genderoftheday (rip), and @fashiondolloftheday.

complete rules and submission guidelines are under the cut, but just know if you joke about incest it’s an instant block <3

submission guidelines:

submit your characters using the ask box.

name both characters and the media they’re from (example: hallie parker and annie james from the parent trap).

state which categories apply to the characters (example: sharpay and ryan evans from high school musical, fraternal and mixed-gender twins) [note: clone/double twins do not count as identical twins unless there is a specific in-universe reason for them to (e.g. they were raised to believe they were identical twins), so please clarify that if you are submitting identical twins where one or more is also a clone/double]

only include a picture if there’s a specific one you want me to use (do not use fanart unless 1. there is no canon art of the characters and 2. the artist has given permission).

try to specify which version of the characters you're talking about if there are multiple adaptations (example: ruth and connie batten from the malory towers book series)

the honorary twins category is for characters who are not twins (they don’t even have to be related!!) but have a close, twin-like bond. when you submit characters for honorary twin consideration i’d appreciate a bit of propaganda (example: will byers and eleven/jane hopper from stranger things. they consider each other family, are both the same age, and also share many thematic parallels, so i consider them honorary twins).

ineligible for submission: triplets (or quadruplets and so on and so forth), real people/historical figures/celebrities (unless it’s funny, i’m obviously gonna post shit like the da vinki twins), characters in romantic relationships with each other (mostly applies for the honorary twins category but again no twincest shit).

eligible for submission: non-human/animal characters (just clarifying because some people asked), mythological figures (e.g. historical people who weren’t real), and your own ocs!! as long as you provide art you have drawn/comissioned/have permission to use (picrews are not eligible because i don’t want the blog to become clogged up with them).

do not submit incestuous characters. i made this blog to catalogue twins in fiction because i myself am a twin, and funnily enough i'm not interested in posting about incest. (this is not an indication of whether i believe incest can exist in fiction; obviously people can write whatever they want.)

banned characters (some of whom were submitted despite my rules being VERY CLEAR): junko and mukuro from danganronpa (incest), mcu maximoff twins (racism), and anyone from harry potter (FUCK JKR 🍅🍅🍅)

Last night I was having my video call with Nerdler, and towards the end I asked Mrs. Professor Ex if she could hang out to discuss some deets about Nerdler's birthday stuff. So she says fine and hangs out in the back on her tablet while Nerdler and I are finishing talking presents. And THEN.

Nerdler says she wants some art from HP.

*DISCLAIMER* I realize we all have very strong hate towards the author but my kid is 10 and loves the books and I am not taking that away from her. Period.

Anyway! So I ask, "what kind of art? Like a poster?"

And she says, "no, more like fanart. I want Harry and Draco together."

And I see Mrs. Professor Ex's head shoot up and we lock eyes and there's a moment of silence. Both of us, knowing Nerdler writes fics, are suddenly wondering if she's found Ao3. And we are having the exact same thought. And I see the moment Mrs. Professor Ex realizes, "I don't have to parent this one." And she grins and just waits.

And I say, "you mean you want Harry and Draco like................. kissing?"

And Mrs. Professor Ex dies laughing.

And Nerdler goes, "Ew! No! Nobody is kissing anybody! I want them like being friends with maybe Ron and Hermione like chibi style in the background looking weirded out about it! I don't ship Drarry, Draco is awful towards Harry!" (She hasn't finished the series yet because it gets a little intense for a 10 year old later on.)

So Mrs. Professor ex goes, "Where did you LEARN those terms?!"

And me, having guessed, says at the same time as Nerdler, "friends at school." Even though it is now confirmed she is not yet to the point of shipping and romance is still gross.

And just to make extra sure, I ask, "do you read HP fics online?" (I don't wanna ask directly about any sites just in case she gets curious and gets access to one of the adult computers without child protections in the house.)

And she says, "no."

And Mrs. Professor Ex and I are out of the WHAT HAS SHE FOUND ONLINE hole.

And with the very last of my dignity, I say, "okay, I'll ask around about anyone who would be willing to do some HP fanart for you for your birthday."

And Mrs. Professor Ex says, "that was such a well-navigated minefield."

And I'm like "wow, being the mom of a pre-teen is very hard."

THAT BEING SAID does anyone do HP fanart for my 11 year-old's birthday I can comission? XDDDD

You know what? Fuck it. For exactly two hours, drawing requests will be opened. I cannot gaurentee that I finish your drawing or even get to it in a timely manner, but I’ll do my best to meet your request and fufill it

Here’s the rules:

I’m very open to (y/n) interacting with characters, i think it’s neat to watch someone break the Geneva Convention or whatever with their favorite blorbos

Fandom related requests only bbgs 🥺🥺🥺 (So things like Moral Orel, Spooky Month, Pokemon, YFM, MHA (i guess 🙄), cookie run, and whatever else i put in the tags)

No extreme nsfw requests, might accept anything slightly suggestive (but don’t quote me on it)

Crossovers are more than allowed!!!! I love cross overs

Ship art is fine (including selfinsert/(y/n) x char)

Nothing fucking weird like “🤓 I want princess meow meow to suck on jiggle fart’s toes” I had a weird ass request like that last time 😿

No i didnt’t trace, i did get inspiration from the same idea and there’s no 30 different angles available & efficient to show the problem of having a big fluffy tail in bed. I did get inspiration from them tho, (still differently than the way AI folks say their machine do) hence why i put the link to their work so they could get as much visibility as i would have with my work. not to say i never trace, tracing can be a good way to learn and experiment as an artist. (For example as i child i traced pokemon, or screenshot of anime i liked. As student i traced Horikoshi’s pages to learn how to ink better and do toning and i did progress a lot after those. recently I also traced one image from teen titan show, i think i shared on twitter. The one with Ling wen almost eating two gods who wanted to borrow god!MY for work as it was exactly this image i had in mind and people who can’t draw can only send the gif to say mood but i can draw it and say mood). In my opinion, tracing is not problematic as long as you dont sell the result and make profit out of this? HOWEVER It’s important to give a link or quote who you traced if you post your work as you share it.

And it wasn’t a commission so i certainly didn’t get money from this. It was a gift, I don’t do commissions bc i have a job and a work contract that doesn’t allow me a second job without my boss permission ^^• it was just fun i had with friends during a conversation, i drew it and then bc i post my drawings here, no matter how silly or unfinished they are.

Now i could have shared the drawing on their twitter’post so they would know i exist and made something inspired from the same idea. I hesitated to do that but then i did not bc the result i did was about a ship from another fandom that i didnt know if they liked or even shipped. As an artist i asked myself « would i mind people taking inspiration from my idea and do an illustration of their own with it? » maybe i would be a little bothered but if they put a link for my work and say the idea started from me i wouldn?t mind. However to have them barge into my thread showing of their work and get the attention of my followers without my permission with their art? Yeah i would be a little pissed, add to that i realized myself that if i knew they did something for a ship i don’t like i would be more bothered (silly, right? The human mind is a bit weird) but i wouldn’t feel legitimate to say « yeah you can take inspiration from my work but not to do something promoting ships i dont like » (people wouldnt listen to that one condition anyways) so i asked myself what i would prefer and my answer was « i would rather not know this art exist » it’s personal and maybe it’s not the right answer but that was my thoughts process (if you follow my blog you might have stumbled with my opinion of what an author can do with fan works)

that’s why i posted on my blog, to get the attention only from my followers and not their, so i would not to steal any fame and put a link to their work so they can gain from me and not the other way around.

And again the drawing is not traced i looked at it said HEY FOXYAO, tried to draft a pose to show the same idea (the first one on the drawing) realized that like they did, the profile view and the bird’s eyes view worked better to convey the problem of having fluffy tail, then finished the work by adding the xiyao solution to it with two other poses of my own.

This is a physical picture frame with the drawing inserted inside to mimic a bathroom mirror. kinda small like the frame goes around my hand small $25

this is on canvas in acrylic. there are fake 3d flowers sewn into the canvas, and individual glitter pieces glued on. honestly i feel like this painting could fall apart any minute because this was my first acrylic painting and the glitter falls off sometimes. also i didnt use varnish because i didnt have any at home. kinda big like a foot and a half tall and like 3/4 a foot wide. $60

acrylic on canvas still life of a candle i got for halloween. probs my fav painting. except i painted the background entirely in striaght black oof. now? i wouldnt do that but this was like years ago. i have learned my lessons. same size as the other one. $50

i grabbed the randomest thing as a canvas which was this nice deep purpleish colour folder and cut up some red envelopes from chinese new year, painted a pink snake and was like yeah. im going to submit this for an ap art assignment. i called it the universe coils. size is get a manilla folder and open it. its that size. $40

Im hesitant to post this one because I dont think its a very good painting. it's ok. again ameturish and not varnish coated or whatever it's called i still dont know what to call it. i named this one hands touching hands reaching meeeeeee in my laptop lol. it's digitally drawn, printed and cute out and taped to canvas. everything besides the hands are painted. same size as other canvas, it was a pack for cheap. $60

Oh boy if you think i felt bad about the last one i feel even worse about this one. honestly if you want it go for it but if i get no offers i would not be suprised. same size as above. $40

Sorry if I talk way too much about this ship nobody but me creates things of/cares about, I just love them so much.

Dumb rant under the cut. Don't pity me, I hate that (?)

I know my IRL friends (who knows nothing about FN) would listen to me but they wouldn't understand, my one (1) online friend knows less than nothing about FN and she doesn't understand a thing, people in the fandom doesn't understand, either because they prefer other ships or because they simply don't see them as couple. I get it, I also find hard seeing certain characters as couple, that's totally valid. Posting here is what I feel is the best, despite being like talking to a wall (?) but it's my Diamondchance place. I've tried to make more self indulgent things about this ship, but at the same time I'm not really inspired. I know, I could comission artists, I know because I've been doing so (not much, like 8 times, including some nasties (?)) , but it getting way too expensive, and that's no problem, but I don't even know what to ask them for. I have zero ideas because I'm not very creative, neither good at drawing. Right now I'm just expecting a piece I comiisioned, the "poster" I posted last week, but well made with the models. I wasn't sure about comision that particular piece, I wanted it to be something bigger, something more special and related with the fic, but I couldn't came up with anything good. I know it will be great, not because my idea is great, but because the artist is great and they know what they're doing (I love their art work, they're the best. I wish I could throw money at them just because).

I just feel like to vent from time to time (like three times per day (?)). I just wish I had someone who loved them as much as I do, but I guess it's a pretty common thing in this fandom, since there are SOOOOO many characters, the possibilities are endless! And you know I'm aware Nolan is not the best for Monty (he looks way better with Mydas, with Baleria, with Lorenso, even Ozcar, Nolan is at the end of the line when it comes to pick someone to pair Monty with (?). And yes, I'm misspelling their names for a reason) .

Despite all my love for this ship I don't really feel like to finish the fic. I know I'm always saying I'm getting there, that I'm excited about it and all that but, as I'm getting to the closure, I'm not feeling like that anymore. Sometimes I wish I could simply post what I have as I have it (In Spanish without checking grammar) and call it a day. I mean, nothing would be lost, except for the one person reading it. But I'd give you a summary of I do that, don't worry, is not even that good after all (?).

I've been thinking about some scenarios, but of course, I can't write, I'm so bad at it, and despite me encouraging people to "write it bad but write it", I know it doesn't applies to me because I KNOW what I write is bad bad (?). Yes I have fun thinking about that, but I think it's for the best not making the same mistake I did with the fic, which wasn't supposed to be posted. It was supposed to be a silly little thing for me to me, and it should've stayed that way.

Anyway. I'm wonder what's gonna be left for my soul once DiamondChance is over for good (?)

Journal Eight

For the past month, my mom has been actively trying to clear out unwanted material possessions that take up space in our home. Granted, it is a nice idea as a means to get rid of clutter but it peeves me that included MY personal clutter as well. I can't say that I can condemn her efforts though, at least she's helping with clean up and would asked if I wanted to keep some things or not.

During the process, my mom stumbled across not only old dolls I used to collect (which are probably really pricey now due to them being discontinued) but also my old drawings from primary and secondary school. It was both a cringey and heart-warming experience seeing how much I've grown in terms of my art skills. I just wish that half of it wasn't so cryptic and edgy but alas that is simple apart of youth that you can never escape from. In way, I'm also quite envious of my past self for having a really strong drive for taking the time to draw that much when in comparison to now, I only wish I could have half as much of that energy. I won't get rid of these regardless because I'm someone who clings to past momentos a lot. I should really keep them away somewhere else though.

In terms of entering the second week of Ramadan, I'm glad I can actually fast this year without it being disrupted by my health complications. I couldn't fast at all last year due to me dealing with my PCOS so at least there's more progression this year. However, I still need to take some pills and lose weight; which is something I've been neglecting for a few months now. My hospital check-ups used to be every other month or so but I felt bad going just because the funds add up and I don't really want to burden my parents financially anymore than I already do. It's difficult since they're both retired so I try to make do where I can and do art commissions where I am able.

Speaking of art commissions, I wish I could give more details of a specific client but I hope they don't comission me ever again. They left a rather distasteful comment that made me regret accepting their money in the first place. I'm still grateful for my other clients who have been patient and kind to me for my work delays however. I really hope they don't request more of my work anytime soon because working on their piece definitely more of a chore than it was enjoyable (ironic how that was the exact reason why I dropped out of art school huh).

Asides from that, my new doll is finally in Malaysia! It's still at my friend's place and I'm a bit broke to deal with shipping at the moment (I'm sorry to say that is like the third entry I preface how broke I am) and I still don't quite have clothes for her yet. It's been hard to find cute clothes that aren't too expensive and my shopee cart looks like a whole catalogue for doll clothes now reaching the 100s. I definitely need to clear out my cart here and there.

Well, it's safe to say that week is tiring and I spent most of my weekend sleeping in my hermit hole. Maybe I'll have more to note in my next entry. Maybe I won't but I hope not truly.
