god i miss s1... bribing morgue attendants after mumbling violent threats, sammy's whisper soft sweet voice and absolute refusal to talk about his own emotions, "who are you, cops?" [deep meaningful look] "something like that", freak, ass shot of a woman in panties, dean actually doing research and contributing to lore (and taking sam's direction beautifully), his. fucking. freckles, finishing each other's sentences, can't see a thing except half their faces, genuine creepy monsters, episodic declarations of love and devotion

"Indeed....” He hums in agreement, gazing up at the fairy lights on the ‘ceiling’ of their fort with a content smile. “If we could always feel so comfy, and at peace like this... perhaps the usual stress in our daily lives, would not feel nearly as bad to endure, if at all. Especially if at the end of the day, we could unwind and have fun, chatting away while doing whatever!”

Just like tonight.They had watched each other’s favorite movies/documentaries, and Shuichi eagerly told her about some of his favorite books and even read some chapters of on to her; and in turn, he wanted to listen to anything classic music by famous pianists that Kaede liked. All of this, over their favorite drinks and snacks...made for the perfect night to Shuichi. Especially because he could share such a fun time, with his dear best friend...

“...Hey, Kaede.” His eyes shift to look up at her. “Would you...want to make a habit out of this? Us occasionally having a sleepover in a blanket fort like this, that is. I know we often are busy with our own things, like me with my detective work and your piano practice and recitals... but whenever we have the time... we can close off those especially busy weeks, enjoying ourselves like this. That’d be nice, right...? Our own little world of happiness, it’d be! Since spending time with you, Kaede... always assures a happy one for me!”

A soft, bright laugh leaves him as he says this, beaming even more at her. No matter how busy or stressful a week he may have, it always seemed it all melts away when he spends time with her like this. So if Kaede happily would not mind having blanket fort nights with him on occasion like this, then Shuichi would truly be happy...
