for no other reason than i worked at an ice cream shop for eight years, here's what ice cream the mass effect characters would eat
shepard: neapolitan, strawberry for their paragon side, chocolate for their renegade, vanilla to balance
garrus: moose tracks, but will pick it apart just for the peanut butter cups and give shepard the leftovers
tali: literally any booze flavored ice cream
liara: mint chocolate chip because she secretly kind've fucks with the taste of toothpaste but will never admit it out loud
kaidan: butter pecan. it's not everyone's favorite, but it's his, and he's totally cool with it
ashley: whatever the 2183 equivalent to the tonight dough. cookie dough chunks, brownie chunks, butterscotch, chocolate chips, malt chunks, everything
wrex: this man is old as balls!!!!!! rum raisin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
joker: lemon sherbet. you cannot tell me that man is not lactose intolerant
miranda: cherries garcia, little bit sweet, little bit tart
jack: the most sickening sweet shit you can think of. cotton candy with marshmallow superman with a side of sugar
jacob: some sort of dark chocolate peanut butter ice cream that sounds good in theory but in reality you can only take like 3 bites of before you get a tummy ache
zaeed: banana splits that he likes to mash together with a spoon and eat like some deconstructed milkshake
kasumi: the weird avant gard shit you see in hipster vegan shops, like some bacon sweet potato rosebud ice cream
mordin: coffee ice cream, because he likes the taste of coffee but if he were to actually drink it he would spontaneously combust
grunt: those froyo shops that were everywhere in 2014 where you could make a bowl with like 5% froyo and 95% other toppings and it cost 14 dollars
thane: doesn't like ice cream because it reminds him of how he abandoned his child and how his wife is dead and he could never go back to the life he left behind, the life of stability, because his body is engineered for a deadly purpose and he can never atone for his sins rocky road
samara: this woman is old as balls!!!!!!!!!!!!! pistachio!!!!!!!!!!!
legion: tried vanilla ice cream. too sticky, got stuck in his wiring.
james: one of those brownie sundaes that weighs approximately 5 pounds and is majority whipped cream
steve: chocolate chip. classy, just like him ;)
traynor: something smooth and rich and velvety and inexplicably sexy, like raspberry chocolate chunk
edi: takes the idea of ice cream a little too literally and just has a bowl of heavy cream with ice cubes. is confused why everyone is disgusted.
javik: ice cream is for primitives (peaches and cream)

Crash Hot Potatoes with Spiced Bacon and Herbs Recipe
If you're looking for a side dish that's both visually stunning and bursting with flavor, look no further than Australian Crash Hot Potatoes. These crispy, creamy, and perfectly seasoned potatoes are an absolute delight to the senses. To take this dish to the next level, we'll be adding a generous sprinkle of spices, some crispy fried bacon, and a fresh herb garnish. Get ready to impress your friends and family with this mouthwatering recipe!
Ingredients
For the Crash Hot Potatoes
1.5 lbs (about 700g) baby potatoes (red or yellow work great)
2-3 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
For the Spiced Bacon
4-6 slices of bacon
1/2 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to your spice preference)
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
For the Herb Garnish
Fresh parsley or chives, finely chopped
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Boil the Potatoes:
Place the baby potatoes in a large pot of cold salted water.
Bring the water to a boil and cook the potatoes for about 15 minutes or until they are fork-tender but not falling apart.
Drain the potatoes and let them cool for a few minutes.
3. Prepare the Spiced Bacon:
While the potatoes are cooling, you can prepare the spiced bacon. In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.
Lay the bacon slices on a separate baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the bacon slices.
Place the bacon in the oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until crispy. Keep an eye on it to avoid burning.
Remove the bacon from the oven and let it cool slightly before crumbling or chopping it into smaller pieces.
4. Smash the Potatoes:
Once the potatoes have cooled slightly, place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Use a potato masher or the bottom of a glass to gently smash each potato. You want them to flatten but still hold their shape.
Drizzle olive oil over the smashed potatoes and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and dried thyme.
5. Bake the Potatoes:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the potatoes are crispy and golden brown.
6. Assemble and Garnish:
Once the potatoes are done, remove them from the oven.
Sprinkle the crispy spiced bacon over the top of the potatoes.
Finish by garnishing with finely chopped fresh parsley or chives for a burst of color and freshness.

Holidays Are Apple Days
Tumblr media
Photo by Aarón Blanco Tejedor on Unsplash
You’ve heard it said that an apple a day may keep the doctor away. It's a simple and easy way to take care of your health. Plus, apples are delicious, and there are so many different varieties. But it won't keep the snackers away. Not if you love apples. And who would even think of entering the holidays without apples on the menu?
With thousands of producers growing millions of bushels every year and over 200 varieties to choose from, the benefits are bountiful, and there's an apple out there for every taste preference. From tart to sweet and green to red, this versatile fruit has something for everyone to enjoy.
You could take the first step to growing your apples just in time for holiday gifting. Mention this favorite fruit, and the apple opens the door to so much creativity that you’ll wonder why you don't have an apple tree. Not that you couldn't: plenty of nurseries provide edible food; you only have to pay a visit and ask questions. And when you think of food prices these days, it makes sense to get out your shovel.
How can you use apples? Let us count the ways. Actually, the possibilities are endless. Even so, here's a starter list:
Coleslaw a la Red Delicious - Use your favorite coleslaw recipe and add diced apples and red onions. Serve with a smile since the bowl will be empty.
Fuji Chicken Salad - Diced or sliced baked chicken with a drizzle of coleslaw dressing, candied pecans, chopped celery, red onion, and diced Fuji apples (remove the peel). Serve with a cornbread muffin, then wait for the compliments.
Golden Delicious and highly nutritious - This satisfying apple makes a tasty turkey sandwich. As a real treat for sandwich lovers, here's a great recipe. Sliced turkey breast, thin sliced Golden Delicious Apples, and honey mustard with a slice of bacon served on wheatberry bread.
Granny Smith applesauce - Are you aware that most people have no idea what fresh applesauce is? Open a jar and pour it in a bowl if you have to, but growing your own Granny Smith Apple Tree will have you begging for more. Begging! More, please! Try this no-fail happiness-on-a-plate:
Core, peel, and dice some Granny Smith apples.
Add to a saucepan with water (just enough to cover the apples), bring to a hard boil, then add half a stick of butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
For an extra special treat, add a half teaspoon of allspice.
Serve with pork chops, pork loin, or pork roast. Or spoon over vanilla ice cream and top with roasted sunflower seeds or pecans.
Warning: if company's coming, you'll want to make more. You don't want to run out, which is highly likely if you try to ration this side dish.
Honeycrisp - Who needs lunch when you can have crunch? The Honeycrisp is perhaps the tastiest of the apple family, bursting with crisp, juicy yumminess. Consider this one the perfect snack with whole wheat crackers and sharp cheddar cheese. Warning: highly addictive.
Gifting - Any apples from your homegrown tree make a fantastic basket, ripe for gift-giving.
Are you still trying to decide what to give your new neighbors? It can be tough to come up with the perfect welcome gift, but plenty of options exist. Welcome them to the neighborhood with fresh apples, muffins, crackers, and cheese. They will remember you, especially if you show up while they're still unpacking boxes.
While you're at it, ask if you can have a tree delivered right to your neighbor's door, or your door. Better yet, have a tree delivered to someone you love! Of course, this is just a start; you'll develop tons of unique ideas for using your life-sustaining and edible trees in no time.

Currently, the Dairy Queen brand is owned by the large conglomerate, Berkshire Hathaway. Arby’s Menu Prices There are 5 main types of Dairy Queen restaurants: - Standard – primarily offer DQ frozen treats. - DQ / Orange Julius – Original DQ restaurant that features foods and drinks from the Orange Julius menu. - Dairy Queen Brazier – DQ restaurants that serve similar foods to the new Grill & Chill restaurants. - DQ Grill & Chill – New larger DQ restaurants that serve everything including their frozen treats as well as the new GrillBurger menu. - Texas Country Foods – DQ restaurants that are similar to the Brazier or Grill & Chill, except they are in Texas and have a custom-branded menu. Dairy Queen sells many different foods including Blizzards, soft serve ice cream, Smoothies, Shakes & Malts, GrillBurgers, and more. Family lunch @frenchiecoventgarden where we had the prix-fixe lunch menu (£33 for 2 courses and £38 for 3 courses). • @aangara and I had the chilled tomato panzanella with gooseberries and pickled shallots to start while A and @krisnolan had the pickled mackerel, dill grapes and crispy shallots. We all different white wines by the glass to accompany our lunch. • The kids had sourdough and butter plus some bacon maple scones while we enjoyed our starters. • For our main courses, the three ladies chose the @elwyvalleyshepherdshut lamb belly with roasted carrots, barley and ras el hanout while A had the barbecued pollock with bouillabaisse, pickled mussels and glazed fennel. • Again, the three ladies had the dessert, while A abstained. We had two strawberry frangipane tarts with basil sorbet, and a banoffee, nutmeg and caramelized pecan, finishing with a couple of espressos which came with some delicious freshly-baked madeleines. Everything was as good as the last time - seasonal ingredients presented beautifully and a balance of flavors and textures in every dish. • The only snafu came at the end of the meal as they had charged one prix-fixe too many. When we asked them to remove the 5th prix-fixe menu from the bill, the manager didn’t seem convinced we were correct and we said: 4 adults = 4 prix fixe (3 three-courses, 1 two-course), some sourdough, scones and a pasta for the kids, wine and espressos. Not quite sure what the issue was but we managed to convince them of the correct order and the appropriate bill in the end. Remember, even in the best restaurants, always check your bill. • #TravelswithaGourmet #TWAGLondon #Frenchie #foodie #foodiegram (at Frenchie Covent Garden) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf7PSN0qh2A/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Headcannon: Harley can cook
Okay, he’s not a professional or anything, but he used to help his mom make food for the diner sometimes when they were behind and through that went through a baking phase.
He can’t make anything fancy, but he’s pretty good at comfort food and desserts
His Grilled cheese? Heavenly. He can cook bacon just perfect because his mom showed him how. He knows just the perfect ratio of peanut butter vs jelly. He knows a good recipe for chip dip and fruit dip. He knows how to make bread, and likes his bread covered in butter, as any good southern.
Of course there is dessert. He can make tarts and cake and cookies, just fine. Of course his favorite to make is pie, but that’s because that means he gets a piece. Apple is time consuming but usually delicious. You can add cinnamon and Carmel and granola and it’s heavenly but pecan is his favorite.
Anyway, If someone needs some comfort food, Harley can whip something up real quick. Want some classic homemade dessert? Yeah he can do that too.

Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus Recipe
When it comes to appetizers or side dishes, there's something truly magical about the combination of smoky bacon and fresh asparagus. This Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus recipe is a crowd-pleaser that's perfect for any occasion, whether you're hosting a dinner party or just looking for a delightful snack. With its crispy bacon exterior and tender asparagus interior, this dish strikes the perfect balance between savory and indulgent. Let's dive into this easy and delicious recipe!
Ingredients
Note: Adjust quantities based on the number of servings you need.
1 bunch of fresh asparagus spears (about 1 pound)
8-10 slices of bacon (thin or thick cut, depending on your preference)
Olive oil for drizzling
Freshly ground black pepper
Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish
Toothpicks (soaked in water for 15 minutes)
Instructions
1. Preheat Your Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This will ensure that your bacon-wrapped asparagus cooks evenly and becomes wonderfully crispy.
2. Prepare the Asparagus:
Start by washing the asparagus thoroughly. Then, trim off the tough woody ends (usually about 1-2 inches from the bottom). You can do this by gently bending each spear; it will naturally snap where the tender part begins.
3. Wrap the Asparagus:
Take a slice of bacon and wrap it around an asparagus spear from the bottom to the top, ensuring the bacon overlaps itself slightly. Secure the bacon in place with a toothpick, piercing it through the ends of the bacon and the asparagus. Repeat this step for all the asparagus spears.
4. Arrange on a Baking Sheet:
Place the bacon-wrapped asparagus on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure to leave a little space between each one to allow for even cooking.
5. Drizzle with Olive Oil:
Drizzle a bit of olive oil over the bacon-wrapped asparagus. This will help the bacon crisp up nicely while roasting.
6. Season with Black Pepper:
Sprinkle freshly ground black pepper over the asparagus for a burst of flavor.
7. Roast in the Oven:
Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and roast for 20-25 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and the asparagus is tender. You can check for doneness by inserting a fork into the asparagus; it should easily pierce the stalk.
8. Optional Parmesan Topping:
If you'd like to take your bacon-wrapped asparagus to the next level, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese over the top during the last 5 minutes of cooking. This adds a delightful cheesy touch.

Serve and Enjoy
Once your bacon-wrapped asparagus is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Carefully remove the toothpicks before serving. Arrange the bacon-wrapped asparagus on a platter and watch them disappear as your guests enjoy this delectable treat.
This Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus recipe is a fantastic way to elevate your appetizer game. With its irresistible combination of smoky bacon and tender asparagus, it's sure to be a hit at your next gathering. Whether you serve it as an appetizer, side dish, or even as a party snack, it's bound to be a crowd-pleaser.
