Summer road trip with the batfam (batfam x GN!reader)

● so Bruce rented an RV for the batfam to go on a three month coast to coast road trip

● no crime fighting, just family time

● with you, Bruce, Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian, Barbara, Duke, Cass, Stephanie and of course Haley and Ace it was a bit of a tight squeeze

● Alfred was back at home taking a much needed work free staycation

● Kate was also invited but she refused to be stuck in an RV with ten other people all summer, she and Alfred are happy having breakfast together once a week

● Bruce drives the entire time with Damian as his navigator

● mostly because Damian and Jason would kill each other if they weren't separated

● Jason has purposely instigated fights with Damian by eating his snacks clearly labeled 'Damian' on them

● and sometimes Jason gets accused when it was actually Cass who took Damians snacks

● Barbara has every kind of first aid or bug repellent you can think of

● you stop to go kayaking and she pulls six different kinds of sunscreen out of her bag

● Cass is the one delegated to documenting the trip

● and she takes her job very seriously

● she never not has her camera in her hands either taking pictures or videos

● Stephanie "no Cass we do not need photos of the gas station bathroom"

● and she has photos of everyone sleeping in weird positions on the rv

● and a video of Jason snoring to prove to him that he does in fact snore

● you all take turns on where you guys sleep

● there's one queen sized bed in the back that fits three and the two couches turn into a bed that fits another three and the rest are in sleeping bags on the floor

● Ace and Haley however always sleep cuddling someone in the nice comfy queen bed

● Tim has researched every single place you guys are stopping at

● Bruce thought it would be fun to just wing it and see what happens

● but Tim would not let that happen, he has the entire trip planned out down to what towns you would need to stop in for gas

● places everyone requested to go that Tim denied

● Bruce: the world's biggest ball of yarn because it's a classic road trip must see

● Dick: the corn palace

● Jason: vegas

● Damian: probably like a sword museum in the middle of nowhere that he somehow knows has an authentic ancient sword the museum thinks is a replica

● Barbara: the mothman museum

● Stephanie: Roswell

● Duke: the first taco bell

● Cass: dinosaur world

● you do stop at multiple national parks

● going hiking and swimming in little lakes with their own waterfalls

● Jason tries to sneak a snake he finds back onto the RV

● Duke "Oh no, absolutely not, get that thing out of here"

● Damian "you afraid of a little old snake Thomas?"

● Duke "that thing is not little, it is a deadly creature and I do not want it anywhere near me!"

● the RV breaks down outside a town in Wyoming with no cell service

● you all argue about who has to walk the five miles into town to get help

● Bruce and Dick are the two that end up having to do it

● when they return Damian has Tim in a headlock and Cass is taking video of it

● the random guy with the tow truck they brought back "uhh are they okay"

● Bruce "Oh yeah this is normal for them"

● you and Stephanie ended up breaking the no crime fighting rule when you went into a convenience store for more snacks and walked right into a robbery in action

● you two kicked their asses with ease, tied them up for the cops and bought your snacks like nothing happened

● Barbara back at the RV "Y/N is that blood on your face?"

● "nope don't worry about it!"

● Dick brings lots of board games to play while on the road

● Tim and Damian go way too hard trying to win which you have to play mediator for before they try to throw each other out the moving RV

● Jason still loses even though he cheats

● and Stephanie pretends not to know the rules just to mess with Tim and Damian

● you also stop at a bunch of campgrounds, telling ghost stories and having s'mores around a fire

● Barbara "has anyone seen Jason?"

● Dick "I'm pretty sure he said something about being excited to finally cross off peeing in the woods off his bucket list"

● Duke "he has the weirdest bucket list"

● a lot of you are big readers so there's books packed everywhere

● Duke "ooh we should have a book club"

● Jason "absolutely not you're lucky I even participate in Grayson's lame board games"

● Damian "for once I actually agree with Todd"

● you guys finally make it to the west coast and you all stumble out of the RV

You and Barbara lounged around in your own apartment, which was pretty well adapted to her needs, but there were still some obstacles to overcome. You always made sure to help where you could and do things before she had to ask, because she hated asking for help, and you loved doing things for her without her asking. One of the things you really liked to do was lift her from her chair. At first, it was not her favorite. But after a while she realized that it was a bit fun to have you toss her around and take her where she preferred to go, as long as you were respectful about it. “Okay, bedtime.” You decided as she laid on your couch, glued to her laptop as she obsessively worked on a case for Batman. For four straight hours. Her food even got cold since we refused to pry her eyes off of the screen.

“Hey! I’m not finished!” She protested as you lifted her away.

“With a cold case from three years ago?” You raised a brow and walked towards the bedroom. “I’m sure it’ll still be there tomorrow, you need to get some rest.” The bags under her eyes were a tell-all sign that she was ready to go to bed. And once she was separated from her electronics, you could tell she broke out of that trance since her muscles began to relax and her eyelids began to move together.

“You’re too worried about me.” Barbara kissed your cheek and smiled. “Maybe you’ll scoop me some ice cream before bed?”

“Ohh, you want dessert but no dinner?” You gently set her down on the bed with a light chuckle, delighted to see her share the same smirk you had.

“I’m on a new diet, what can I say?” She joked as you left to get her everything she wanted and more.

barbara gordon x gender neutral reader. 367 words. notes: my first take on babs for @batwngs birthday (a few days late 😮‍💨). hope it was incredible and this year is a great one!! warnings: n/a, as far as i can tell!

this part was easy.

you watched barbara turn the page of her book, a calm focus evident in the way her eyes raced across it.

she was a world away, but she was relaxed. her shoulders were loose, her brow furrowed in curiosity instead of the stress that so often- too often- found a home there, and her right pointer finger trailed down the edge of the page ever so slowly, prepped and ready to flip it as soon as she finished scanning it.

you were pretty sure it was a murder mystery.

the fun kind, with fictional homicide.

you were very sure that watching her was more interesting than the story itself.

the fun kind, without the strain of oracle lingering in her features.

she handled her work well, carried it with grace, but the stakes of it all got to even the great, battle-hardened barbara gordon. who could blame you for enjoying the sight of her enjoying a morning off?

you watched as her eyes sped across the page and back again, over and over, as though the words may escape before she could get to them. as though anything could escape her pull.

you sighed quietly, happily, and she glanced up at you in that very barbara way that convinced you she was an oracle, that she could predict your next moves.

"can i help you?" she asked, fond amusement thick in her voice.

"i just love you, is all."

she chuckled. "oh, that's all. a small thing."

"you know what i mean."

"i do," she said, her smile crinkling her eyes (and sending warmth to your heart like an arrow finding a target). "i love you too."

every moment of stress and exhaustion and worry was worth it, you decided. every single one. you would relive every single stressful night her "job" had brought her, if it brought you back to this.

she hadn't dropped your gaze yet.

you wondered if she knew what you were thinking.

it must have shown on your face, because her smile softened and she set her book down. "come here."

you did, and found yourself being kissed with a warm hand on your cheek.

yeah. worth it.

One of my favorite flavors of batfam angst is when one of the batkids—competent, independent, would-fistfight-a-god-stubborn vigilantes—would look for or scream for Bruce (not Batman but Bruce, Dad) when faced with something that’s got them truly shaken and at the end of their rope. Like, these are the Bats. Everyone’s either afraid or in awe of them but at the end of the day they’re still Bruce’s children. And if they’re ever pushed to the very limit, past the fight and the grit and the bravery, they know that Dad can do something about it. Dad will know what to do. Dad can fix it for them.

(Here is the thing about fathers, however. Behind the cowl and the cape and the broad shoulders, he is still only a man.)

Batsis as Vtuber and Batfam finds out, save it for Stephanie and Alfred

When you started out

You decided to try vtubing when you notice that you don’t have to show your face online

Since your family is too busy doing their nightly activities, you stream games as a way to pass time.

You usually stream FPS, retro, fashion and RPG games since it takes the most time

Overtime, you decided to try song karaoke streams after seeing other Vtubers doing singing, since you always wanted to be a singer but was too shy

You became well known overtime due to gaming content style and singing

Stephanie found out when she was watching your streams after hearing your voice and often do collabs together

If you join an agency

Overtime, you audition for well known Vtuber agencies that focus not only on streaming, but singing and dancing.

You got accepted to be part of the first generation of agency and Steph decided to join as she is also a fan of their talents.

Your avatar is based on a fairy godmother princess and your lore is being a fairy godmother in training from another world to bring happiness to others

He is known as the fairy grand-pere and gave him an avatar with a lore that he is likely an envoy of family and was sent to help the royal family of all fairy guardians.

You two played Grand Theft Auto together and Alfred ended up getting to most shots along with many superchats from the fairies ( almost $5,000). He also answered the fans questions in a Q&A with him

You eventually had your first cover and did more favorite anime songs ( shojo anime)

You decided to work on your first original, focusing on a song that would match your image

You decided to due to 12 hour endurance stream for fun and that’s when your father found out

You were playing Hitman, when you were staying at the Mansion and he came to your door to see if you are alright, after hearing some game sounds thinking someone broke in, causing you to do an intermission break.

He asks why are still playing videos game in 1 in the morning and your told him that you must haven’t check the time only to notice your waiting load screen causing him to realize that you do streaming in secret, causing he go back to what he was doing, do to awkwardness

Tim found out after he watched Steph’s stream, when your gen-mates collaborated together, when he heard your voice and decided to be a Fairy to support you. He is amazed at your Japanese skills when you collaborate with other members in Japan.

Dick and Barbara found out when you were doing a karaoke stream at one point and joined your membership. You found out after seeing Dick’s super chat message

Damian found out after he overheard you during an ASMR Zatsudan, telling fairytale stories and singing lullabies, leaving him confuse why your doing this

Cass sometimes appears as a special guest in your stream and sometimes in Stephs.

Your father even sent a generous red superchat, showing he is supportive of your Vtuber activities. He is nicknamed by your fans Fairy God-daddy much to your flustered state and even got fanart based on your avatar. It didn’t help that you mention he is very popular among the ladies.

Overall they are willing to go to your concert, when you have one in person or go crazy on buying your merch. They also go to your special events as well when they have time.

Harley Quinn is also a big fan of yours and is part of your membership. She never misses a stream.

Summary: Bruce forgot a very important day and the whole family is making sure he knows it. He tries to fix the mistake before you get home

Bruce was sitting in the Batcave on the bat computer going over some files after a night of patrol. It has been a strange day for Bruce because no one is giving him the time of day today. It all started this morning when he woke up to an empty, cold bed without you. He didn’t think too much about it because you both are busy people with jobs. You own a very popular restaurant downtown.

Alfred comes down to the Batcave to give Bruce his nightly coffee. Once Alfred is next to Bruce he just throws down the tray in front of Bruce. Bruce looks at Alfred wondering why he just did that, but Alfred just has a straight face. Bruce lets out a sigh and nods his head. He picks up the coffee and spits it out.

“Alfred why is the coffee cold and bitter” Bruce grabs the napkin on the tray and cleans his mouth.

“I bet that is how Mistress Y/N feels about you today,” Alfred says under his breath then walks away. Bruce looks at him wide eye not understanding where that just came from. He ignores it now and will talk about it later with him. Right now Bruce is tired and just wants to see and cuddle his wife.

After a bit, the boys come back from patrol. They didn’t want to work with Bruce tonight. They didn’t give a good reason. They just mumbled under their breath and left.

“How was patrol tonight boys?” Bruce asked trying to make conversation since he was being ignored all day.

“Why do you care about how patrol is when there are more important things to be worried about right now,” Jason says taking off his helmet. Bruce looks at Jason with narrowed eyes trying to understand what he means by that.

“Jason is right and you need to do better or you are going to lose her,” Dick says with anger behind his tone.

“Lose her..” Bruce says to himself.

“Have you not noticed that she hasn’t been here all day because I have and miss her!” Damian yells. Bruce starts to think; are they talking about you not being here?

“Y/N isn’t here because you have forgotten your 10-year anniversary,” Tim says out loud. Bruce's heart stops for a second and he looks at the date. They were right, it was you and Bruce’s 10-year wedding anniversary and it has slipped his mind.

He stops everything that he is doing and runs out of the Batcave. He takes off the suit, gets into one of his many cars, and drives to the nearest store at this hour. He goes in and buys everything that you like and rushes back home to get everything set up for you.

After about an hour you arrive home after a very long day. You go up to your shared room with Bruce and open the door in awe. There are rose petals everywhere with lit candles and all your favorite snacks, candies, and drinks. You look at Bruce with a serious face.

“Are you cheating on me?!” you say angrily.

“Why would you think that?” Bruce says confused.

“Baby, I love you and everything but you aren’t the most romantic person in the world sometimes. You know how to treat a woman very well but you don’t really show it too much. Now I come home on a random day and this is all done. I have to think that you are cheating on me and got caught” you explain and Bruce starts to laugh.

“Oh, this is great. You also forgot” Bruce smiles and walks over to you.

“What did I forget?” you start to think about what was so important about today, and then you remember. Today is your anniversary.

“Bruce I am so sorry that I forgot. I was so busy this morning getting stuff for the kids. Dick was wearing too small of clothes, so I went shopping for him. Jason needed new guns because somehow he lost them. Tim needed new computer parts. Damian has a field trip so I had to drive to the school and drop it off. Barbara needed help getting somewhere today. Then the restaurant was understaffed tonight so I had to jump in” You ramble on but stop one Bruce pulls you into a hug and leans in to give you a deep, passionate kiss that takes your breath away.

“Happy anniversary dear. We both forgot and that’s okay” Bruce says and you both laugh at it.

“Wow we really did forget, but it has been the best 10 years of my life” You give Bruce a chaste kiss.

“Now I haven’t been able to see my wife all tonight and the boys have been giving me the cold shoulder because they think you are mad at me for not remembering,” Bruce says.

“Let me go talk to the boys and explain what really happened,” you say and try to leave Bruce’s hold but can’t get out of his strong grip on your waist.

“Now we still have a few hours left in our anniversary and I want to spend it taking care of my hard-working wife who has been on her feet all day,” Bruce says and picks you up with ease.

“I like the sound of that” You wrap your arms around Bruce’s neck and kiss him. You both spend the night remembering why you got married in the first place.
