#Barkface kin

How does Whitewater feel about her “cursed” kits being leader and medicine cat? Does she feel like Windclan is now cursed as well? Does she feel regret? Is she upset Owlclaw never rose to power like they did?
WindClan is cursed. She begins to feel that sort of slow-burn fear that ferments into furious bigotry-- and Owlclaw is the one who suffers for it.
When she brought the two bigger kittens out into the storm that night, she left Owlkit behind out of a sense of... some kind of warmth. She didn't want the helpless thing to die. As time passes, she starts to think maybe that's what she should have done when she had the chance.
Maybe that storm was meant to kill it.
We aren't our thoughts, we are our actions, but a thought indulged is future actions taken. She thinks about that every time she squirms in discomfort from looking at him. Guilt jabs her when she thinks about how his father is Mudclaw, how she hypocritically was going to invoke Queen’s Rights which she hates so much. Going into the nursery feels like walking into a jail cell. This wouldn't be happening if that storm had killed him.
Every time she has that reflexive, negative feeling towards her kitten, she lets that thought linger a little longer. That storm should have killed you.
She doesn't realize this, but this is an excuse. If the storm was supposed to kill this kitten, now this isn't HER terrible intrusive thought. SHE isn't believing something so cruel. It was maybe fate. It was perhaps StarClan trying to help her. These feelings are natural. Justified. The reason; That Storm Should Have Killed Him.
Oh. But no one else could possibly take Owlkit. She is his Mi, she would never (admit she has a problem) force him onto someone else. This is her (punishment) responsibility.
Of COURSE he developed behavioral issues. He's known as a big bully and a bit of a loner. Owlkit learned quickly that asking for help gets him hit, and Owlpaw quickly became very distant from his mother. Whitewater didn't "chase" him-- and that hurt too.
He's definitely closer to his mentor, thankfully. Blackstar knew Owlpaw was going to need someone capable of handling a difficult apprentice, who would do a good job of integrating him properly into the Clan by establishing connections to other warriors. So he got Oakfur.
And the ones in WindClan...
Kestrelflight was put into the Cleric's den early. Barkface died in a mine collapse in BB!TNP, so as soon as it was demonstrated he had a connection to StarClan he was shoved in, too young. To Whitewater, the realization churns in her belly, making her heart race with fury (and satisfaction, her biases confirmed) that Onestar is breaking the code to train a kit before its 6th moon.
Damned WindClan! They claim to be so pious but their priest is a child! Kestrelpaw will be their downfall. This must be their punishment.
Harespring is a clumsy warrior, terrible when he fights other cats. Too gentle. Too anxious that he will hurt others. Surely useless to WindClan. Whitewater doesn't live long enough to see Harestar, but if she watches the ceremony from StarClan, she revels in her smug bitterness.
From her position, she'd be able to see that his plan to defy Onestar and rescue Kin cats wasn't entirely his own. His mate Heathertail was the organizer, the one who brought all those cats together. This must be WindClan's punishment-- that he took the lives that were surely meant for a leader as competent as her.

OLD GROWTH AU
An AU where the first six arcs are all shuffled around! I wanted to see how long I could keep the Clans in the Old Forest, and play around with a different order for the arcs while still keeping the core plot points and storylines intact. I had some help from @wsoupofpain , and I am super down to talk about this AU at any time!
The Broken Code
POVs: Spottedleaf and Redtail
Thistleclaw, after being killed by Rosetail for grooming Spottedpaw, is accepted into StarClan. He begins planting false signs and eventually possesses Raggedstar, encouraging the Clans to punish and exile codebreakers. The Clans must come together to defeat him.
Brokentail kills his father, Raggedstar, ousting Thistleclaw from his body. Redtail then kills Thistleclaw’s spirit after Spottedleaf utilizes death berries to bring her brother’s spirit out of his body. Redtail becomes deputy.
Culture changes to be more about working together, and encourages treating the Code as being up to interpretation.
The Prophecies Begin
POV: Firestar
Tigerclaw attempts to take over ThunderClan, and eventually the whole forest. Firestar works to stop him, stopping Brokenstar and saving WindClan in the process. Eventually, the Forest Clans must defeat BloodClan, a ruthless group from the Twolegplace.
Culture changes to be more inclusive in WindClan and ThunderClan; ShadowClan and RiverClan are reeling from their support of Tigerstar.
A Vision of Shadows
B1: POV Squirrelpaw and Leafpaw. Squirrelpaw is sent on a journey to rebuild SkyClan. Brambleclaw tags along, and they successfully re-establish SkyClan, saving Petalnose from her Twoleg. In the Forest, something seems to be wrong with ShadowClan…
B2: POV Brambleclaw and Tawnypelt. In SkyCan, the journeying cats must help the new Clan fight invading rats to ensure that SkyClan can survive. In the Forest, Tawnypelt details the worsening condition of ShadowClan under Kin rule, including its eventual dissolution. Some of the remaining ShadowClan cats take refuge in ThunderClan, but many remain with the Kin, and a few simply vanish altogether.
B3: POV Feathertail and Squirrelflight. The Clans band together to drive the Kin from ShadowClan. In the chaos, Tallstar and Deadfoot are killed, leaving WindClan leaderless. The remainder of the Kin retreat to Highstones.
B4: POV Crowfoot and Leaffall. WindClan goes through a Civil War, caused by Tallstar and Deadfoot’s deaths. Before Tallstar’s death, Deadfoot had considered retiring and Tallstar had publicly planned to make Mudclaw deputy. However, Barkface finds a sign of a single slash mark and believes it to indicate that Onewhisker has been chosen by StarClan. However, the Clan cats are unable to reach the Moonstone. The two sides clash, and StarClan smites Mudclaw to end the conflict. The Kin leave Highstones soon after, allowing Onestar to become WindClan’s leader. His first act is to isolate the Clan.
B5: POV Tawnypelt and Brambleclaw. Tawnypelt goes on a little journey to retrieve cats who fled ShadowClan during the Kin takeover, helping to re-establish the Clan. Feathertail comes with her and joins ShadowClan because they are in love. ThunderClan grapples with a yellow cough outbreak. The Clans argue internally about how much they are obligated to help their neighbors when struggling themselves. With all the Clans preoccupied with their own difficulties, the Kin easily take over RiverClan.
B6: POV Squirrelflight and Leaffall. The Clans begin planning the attack that will drive the Kin from RiverClan. Leaffall and Crowfoot leave and return; Cinderpelt dies in the battle; Onestar and Darktail fall over the side of the Gorge while fighting each other, but Onestar is grabbed by Leaffall and Crowfoot, who in turn are grabbed by their families, such that there is a huge group keeping Onestar from going over the edge. With Darktail dead, the remaining Kin members flee the territories for good.
Power of Three
POVs: Jayfeather, Lionblaze, Hollyleaf
The Three are born and Jayfeather and Lionblaze grow into their powers. Hollyleaf is revealed to not be one of the three. Hollyleaf reveals their parentage and kills Ashfur, then flees the territories.
Instead of visiting the Tribe, they visit SkyClan.
The Dark Forest begins recruiting, starting off with cats like Lionblaze and Hawkfrost who have familial connections to the Dark Forest.
The New Prophecy
POVs: Dovepaw and Ivypaw
Journey Crew: Lionblaze and Dovepaw; Heathertail; Goldenheart (Tigerheart); Stormfur and his apprentice, Rainpaw. They swing by SkyClan and Harrybrook joins them; on the return trip they go through the Tribe.
SkyClan joins the Clans on the Great Journey, and live with them at the Lake, taking their canon territory.
Dark Forest trainees are able to recruit other cats on the Great Journey, when the Clans are not in communication with StarClan or the Dark Forest. Ivypaw is the POV where we see this in action.
The Moonpool is “discovered” by Jayfeather via time travel.
The WindClan Coup is replaced by the RiverClan Succession Crisis. After Leopardstar dies, Mistyfoot takes control of RiverClan despite not being able to go and get her nine lives. She chooses Hawkfrost as her deputy. After Jayfeather discovers the Moonpool, Dovewing is sent to RiverClan to share the news. While speaking with Mothwing, she hears Hawkfrost trap Mistyfoot in a fox trap, and runs off to help. Mothwing follows, and the two of them arrive in time to save Mistyfoot, although Hawkfrost is killed by Mothwing in the struggle.
The RiverClan Succession Crisis occurs during the last book of the series; the various problems the Clans encounter while settling in are shuffled to be earlier.
Omen of the Stars
POVs: Jayfeather, Lionblaze, Dovewing, and Ivypool
Relatively unchanged other than most characters being older, and SkyClan being present at the Lake. The Clans must fight against the Dark Forest and their supporters.
Hollyleaf returns with a variety of Clan cats that left the Clans at one point or another, including some SkyClan warriors who chose to remain at the Gorge, some Kin members who want to join or rejoin their Clans, and some other rogues or loners who are interested in the Clan lifestyle. These additional numbers help to make a difference during the battle against the Dark Forest.
Culture changes to be a bit more open to outsiders, including a formal method for joining (or changing) a Clan. Collaboration between Clans is much more common.

Skyfall Character Bio: Littlecloud
Tumblr media
General Information:
Littlekit -> Littlepaw -> Littlecloud (warrior) -> Littlecloud (cleric)
Asexual/Panromantic, He/Him
Protector and then Cleric of Shadowclan
Mother: Newtspeck
Father: Nightwhisper (at the time of Little's birth, a rogue named Sunset)
Littermates: Mirepaw (brother) and Dewdrop (sister)
Notable Relationships:
Best Friends with Cinderpelt of Thunderclan
Adoptive son of Flintfang
Other notable friends: Mothwing, Mudfur, Runningnose, Flametail, Leafpool, Barkface, Blackstar, Russetfur, Tallpoppy
Bio:
Littlecloud was born to Newtspeck and Sunset, a rogue, during the height of Brokenstar's reign over Shadowclan. After his littermates accidentally killed Mosspaw during a training exercise, Brokenstar, seemingly apathetic to the death of an apprentice, promoted the littermates to apprentices at only 3 months old. Littlepaw, the most timid of the siblings, was apprenticed to Clawface. Clawface was one of Brokenstar's most ardent supporters, and one of the most brutal. He was a violent mentor who insisted on training with claws unsheathed, resulting in bodily harm to Littlepaw. His numerous scars are almost entirely from his time as an apprentice under Clawface. And as if to make matters worse, Littlepaw's brother Mirepaw and his mother were killed in one of Brokenstar's many battles.
After Brokenstar's defeat and Clawface's death, Littlepaw was apprenticed to Flintfang. The gentler tom was the perfect match for the nervous Littlepaw, who gradually came to trust his new mentor. The pair became inseperable, and Flintfang became a surrogate father for Littlepaw. Littlepaw leaned on the older tom for guidance and support. Even as a warrior, Littlecloud insisted on going on patrols with Flintfang.
A few short moons after becoming protector, plague came to Shadowclan. Unable to get treatment from an overwhelmed Runningnose, Littlecloud fled across the border to Thunderclan with his clanmate Whitethroat. The pair were nursed back to health by Cinderpelt, a Thunderclan cleric who was similar in age to Littlecloud. Littlecloud would be forever grateful to Cinderpelt, the pair would form of a friendship that would last both of their lifetimes.
Inspired by Cinderpelt to heal rather than harm, Littlecloud decided to train again, only this time under Runningnose. Littlecloud was a fast learner with a sharp memory and knack for inventing new healing techniques. He could frequently be found sketching out ideas in the dirt near the cleric's den, encouraged by his old mentor Flintfang.
However, between Brokenstar's brutal reign and carrion plague, Littlecloud's trust in Starclan was utterly broken. Most of his clan felt the same, but as a cleric, Littlecloud was expected to have some connection to the stars. His clan supported his choice to become a cleric, regardless of his faith, but some in other clans whispered about the issues of a cleric without faith in the ancestors above. Was a clan without faith even a clan? Littlecloud, usually softspoken, defended his clan and his choices at a gathering when provoked by the pious Windclan warrior, Mudclaw:
"Shadowclan does not need Starclan to justify our existence," Littlecloud spoke clearly into the cold night air, "We are a clan, with or without the stars. We care for one another and follow the code laid out by those warriors who preceded us. We defend one another and see each other as kin in all but blood. What more do we need? Shadowclan exists so long as we believe it exists."
From that point forward, Shadowclan had a new found gratitude for Littlecloud, the cleric who had defended the beliefs and pride of his clan. Even Yellowfang, a former Shadowclan cleric and now a cleric of Thunderclan, praised the younger tom:
"Those were good words, Littlecloud. I'm proud of you, and of Runningnose for teaching you well. Tell him, will you?"
Littlecloud kept his head down during the reign of Tigerstar, wishing to maintain his work and care for the cats of his clan. When his father, Sunset, joined the clan, Littlecloud was taken aback. He would always keep Sunset, now named Nightwhisper, at a distance. He needed to focus on his clanmates more than this estranged father. Under Tigerclan, he treated Shadowclan and Riverclan warriors alike, caring only that more lives not be lost in the battles of brutal cats like Brokenstar and Tigerstar. Runningnose, his old mentor, died during this time, his constant illness finally catching up with him.
Littlecloud served proudly under Blackstar, relishing in the peace brought by the new leader's reign. He developed a regiment of physical therapy techniques for paralyzed cats, such as his own clanmate Wildfur, and worked on making mobility aids for cats who could not walk. He waited each half moon at the fourtrees for Cinderpelt, and then the pair would continue the journey to Mothermouth together. When they moved to the lake, he would wait by the creek at the Windclan border. Cinderpelt's death shook the tom deeply. His clanmates said that he seemed far more melancholy after the death of his best friend. The spark of his younger days was gone.
Littlecloud trained Flametail and was devastated at the death of the young tom. He did not blame Jayfeather, however, unlike many of his clanmates. Accidents happen. This one was just particularly tragic. Littlecloud desperately wanted to train another apprentice so as not to leave his clan without a cleric, but he died only a couple years after the death of Flametail. He is not seen in Starclan, but it is presumed that he walks his own skies with the clanmates he came to love throughout his long life.

Another family tree in my AU. This one changes things up the most I think haha. You can check out more of my AU stuff here.
See my notes below!
Making Wrenflight a tortie for genetics reasons.
Onestar is now Quickstar. I never really liked the very specific prefixes like One, Tall, Long. So a very WindClan name for him.
Ashfoot is no longer related to Quickstar and Morningflower for avoiding incest reasons.
Morningflower and Robinwing are mates! Robinwing came to ThunderClan as a kit and never really got why having a relationship with a cat from another clan was such a big deal. Their first litter is Raven and Dust, and their second litter is Gorse, Stork, and Quail. Robin was visiting Morning too close to kitting and had the second litter in WindClan. Storkkit, Quailkit, and Robinwing are all killed in the ShadowClan raid.
Whitetail and Tawnyfur are littermates.
Gorsepaw lives and becomes Gorsefire! He has kits with Tawnyfur.
When flees ThunderClan, he stays with Barley until Fireheart and Graystripe go to bring WindClan back. When they return, Raven stays in WindClan with his mother and little brother. He then becomes Barkface’s apprentice and earns the name Ravencall as a medicine cat.
Ferncloud will be a little older to avoid the awful age gap between her and Dust. She is also a tortie for genetics reasons.
Breezepelt is now Breezeclaw.
The Quick and White litter is Heather, Gale, Kestrel, and Hare.
Tawny and Gorse first have Emberfoot and Sunstrike, Buzzardkit comes later and dies young.
Not too many changes to the DustFern kids except Foxleap has a relationship with a RiverClan cat, Robinfang (one of the many Robinwings), and has Shadedapple and Foxnose, both die to the Kin.
Larkwing has Brookkit and Stripekit with Slightfoot.
Crouchfoot is now one of the SedgeEmber kids.
Fernstripe is Sunstrike’s kit to an unknown cat.
As she is now much older than (and related to) Larksong, Sparkstorm has her litter with Toadstep. Ferncloud, Toadstep, and Flickerkit die in the Dark Forest battle when a cat gets into the nursery. Whitewing fosters Finch and Flame while she’s grieving.
Whitewing and Birchfall have another litter at the time Brightheart canonically has Amber, Dew, and Snow. The litter is only Snowbush.
Tigerheart is now Goldenheart, after his grandmother. He never becomes leader of ShadowClan. Blackstar dies soon after Sol is chased out and Russetstar (Russetfur) is leader when the Kin take over. Tawnyclaw (Tawnypelt) becomes leader after she dies.
Dovewing and Ivypool are older than in canon. Their first gathering is the one after Hollyshine (Hollyleaf) disappears.
For now I’m keeping Rowankit’s original gray tabby description. I might end up changing Rowan to a tortie with Dovewing also a dilute tortie, inheriting the red gene from Whitewing, which is hidden beneath a dominant white. I do like the gray better tho...
Blossomfall and Ivypool are mates. Both have litters of kittens with loners and raise them together. Bristlefrost looks up to Stemleaf as an older brother figure.

Hawkstar au notes part 3:
-Around the time of Sleekpaw’s apprenticeship, he finds a strange tunnel hidden near the border of Riverclan and Windclan, entering it and meeting an windclan apprentice, Breezepaw. At first hostile towards each other, they began to confine in each other, mostly Breezepaw about his father Crowfeather. After Sleekpaw comforts him to the best of his abilities, he offers to let Breezepaw train in the dark forest with him, to which Breezepaw agrees. After Sleekpaw returns from the tunnels, Hawkstar demands to know where he had been, but becomes intrigued to find tunnels leading from the other clans and windclan territory, congratulating his son for finding something new to use in cause of battles and raids. Sleekpaw feels slightly guilty for letting his father know of a way to get to windclan without being spotted above ground, but can’t help but feel pride from the praise he receives for his find.
-Tadpolepaw, meanwhile, has intriguing first thoughts of the other medicine cats. Littlecloud, Barkface and his apprentice were alright, nothing special, but Leafpool? She just seemed so..familiar to her. They bonded every half moon meeting at the moon pool, becoming close like daughter and sister. But Hawkstar had became increasingly more controlling over who went with his sister for collecting herbs or going outside camp at all, something that wracked Tadpolepaw’s nerves…what was her father intending to do? Mothwing’s dead body being found on windclan’s border happened before the next half-moon meeting, much to Tadpolepaw and Willowshine’s grief. Hawkstar uses it as an excuse to attack windclan, threatening further with war against them. Onestar denies anyone killed Mothwing at all, leading to constant bickering at the gathering between the two.
The War between Riverclan and Windclan is formally declared after the gathering ends.
-When Jaypaw hears of the war going on, he’s confused, glad to feel lucky it wasn’t between Thunderclan and Riverclan, but still worried nonetheless. His aunt Leafpool seemed more despondent lately too, having felt grief for Mothwing’s death. He tries to comfort, but can only do so much as it had been as if Mothwing’s death was a greater loss than that of the stars dying out. In a dream later one night, he discovers his power, as he sees his aunt having a dream about spending time with Mothwing, desperately trying to keep close to her. That night, both Jaypaw and Leafpool are given a warning by Mothwing about Hawkstar, begging them not to let him destroy the clans with death and bloodshed, and as soon as the dream ends, they both wake with fear and anxiety on their mind. Jaypaw becomes worried his ability to walk in dreams means he’ll have to become a medicine cat, but thankfully after confiding in his grandfather Firestar, he tells him in secret of the Kin of your kin prophecy he had received. Filled with determination and suprise, Jaypaw becomes determined to find the cats apart of the prophecy alongside himself, and stop whatever plans Hawkstar had. If only he noticed the way Ashfur glared at him from afar..
-Meanwhile in Shadowclan, Brambleclaw and Tawnypelt hear the news of the War between Riverclan and Windclan, and become worried. Their half-sister is dead, likely killed by her own brother, and now war might just spread from beyond River and Wind if not stopped. The two had refused to go to gatherings, knowing their brother might come looking for Brambleclaw to finish the job after ruining his reputation. Brambleclaw watches over Tawnypelt’s kits, Flamekit, Dawnkit, and Adderkit, who looks a striking lot like his grandfather Tigerclaw. Fearing the possibility of his father recruiting poor Adderkit to one day train the dark forest, he is admandant on training Adderkit and teaching him how to be a good warrior, not wanting his nephew’s fate and ambitions to be put in the wrong paws. While he and Tawnypelt search for ways to expose Hawkstar and Ashfur, he is confronted for how he had treated Squirrelflight, having mentioned so to Tawnypelt unrelatedly in conversations in camp before. He doesn’t quite understand her frustration, but begins to see it after Tawnypelt has to angrily yowl about it to him. He begins to feel guilty for his treatment of her, knowing that even if he cleared his name and went back to thunderclan, they’d never be mates no less just friends at best. Maybe that would be for best’ he thought to himself, curled in a nest…
-At the beginning of the war between windclan and Riverclan, it begins with petty things like mucking up the border scents, or stealing prey from one another’s territories. But after using the tunnel system to ambush a windclan patrol, Ashfoot and Blackclaw are left dead, having fought each other to protect one another’s clanmates. Hawkfrost is indifferent to his deputies death, but pretends to care to further hate against Windclan. Windclan is equally upset, Onestar mourning for his dead sister, same with Crowfeather as well. Crowfeather is appointed as deputy much to Breezepaw’s annoyance, and after convincing from his dark forest mentor, Brokenstar, to kidnap windclan kits and blame it on his father, kitnaps Gorsetail’s kits and flees to the tunnels, no one knowing where they are. The usual spiral happens like in the books and somehow Tadpolepaw, Sleekpaw, Jaypaw, and Breezepaw end up in the tunnels together, escaping after it almost caved then in, and Breezepaw acts like he didn’t just kidnap three children to give to Riverclan. Things are still tense, but at least now Sleekpaw and Tadpolepaw have unknowingly met their half-brother and unknowingly their litter mate as well. Sleekpaw doesn’t like Jaypaw much, thinking of him as a weak thunderclan mouse-brain, but Tadpolepaw can’t help but feel a sense of..familiarity, and same could be said by Jaypaw as well..

In Leafpool's Wish, Leafpool has some difficulty kitting. There is no one else there but Squirrelflight, who didn't know what to do. Fortunately, Yellowfang showed up to help, and Hollyleaf, Lionblaze, and Jayfeather were born safely.
But what if Yellowfang hadn't come? What if something had gone wrong, and the only one there to help was Squirrelflight, who wasn't a medicine cat, had no kits of her own, and had never witnessed a birth? Or what if Yellowfang had come, but too late?
What would have happened if Leafpool had died giving birth to Hollyleaf, Lionblaze, and Jayfeather?
"Hey everyone. I gave birth during the journey but Leafpool got mauled by a lynx and died protecting us. Here are my three kits. I named them Leafkit, Poolkit and Jaykit.”
Actually no. Apparently Lionkit is the reason why the kitting was difficult. So Lionkit stays stuck. Leafpool dies. Lionkit dies. Jaykit, born after him, dies. Only Hollykit survives.
So it’s more like “Hey everyone. I gave birth during the journey to this one kit. Named her Leafkit. Yeah no Leafpool died.”
Starclan is catastrophed. Yellowfang and Moth Flight are throwing hands at each other. Bluestar and Crookedstar are mauling each other. Deadfoot almost kills/fades Spottedleaf. Sootfur who just joined doesn’t understand what’s going on. He’s told that they need three Kin of Kin for the prophecy. He starts biting Lionheart’s tail.
No Medicine Cat in Thunderclan, and only 1 kin of Firestar’s kin.
That. is. a. Mess. With a capital M.
Littlecloud and Barkface take turns training in urgence a thunderclan kit. Guess who seems to have a great connection to starclan? Cinderkit. Cruel irony, yes, I know, it is. Anyway they train her to become a medicine cat even if she is a bit young for that (but Goosefeather came to them in a vision and told them to do it anyway).
Hollykit is raised alongside Molekit, Poppykit, Honeykit and Daisy’s kits. She is given Brightheart (because Brightheart should have an apprentice!) as a mentor. She is persuaded that she is special (and she is!) because she just so happen to have inherited Jay’s powers. Being a fine huntress (but not haunted by Tigerstar because this guy seems obsessed with his male descendants, although it can be explained by Mothwing and Tawnypelt refusing him and Hollyleaf being powerless in canon) and being able to find her way in the dreams of others, she decides to make the most of it. When her mother is wounded in Eclipse, she tries to infiltrate her coma-like dreams and discovers she is Leafpool’s daughter. Cinderheart, her best friend, accepts to go to the Moonpool to communicate with Leafpool to ask her if it’s true. Hollyleaf is confirmed that.
Fire. Ashfur threatens to kill Hollyleaf. She just jumps on him with absolutely no remorse to leaving Squirrelflight to die in the fire if she failed to kill him. Squirrelflight collapses due to her injuries and Ashfur dies. Both are now dead.
Cinderheart helps Whitewing give birth. Ivypool will be an undefeatable fighter, Dovewing will have great senses. Because of her gift if not her jealousy, Ivypool is trained by the Dark Forest. However Hollyleaf helps her out of the Dark Forest and the three find each other.
(Firestar probably guessed it partially though, because he gave Ivypool to Hollyleaf - and, unrelated, Dovewing to Berrynose - so he must have realized Whitewing’s kits were the others of the prophecy)
Briarlight is paralyzed. Blossomfall and Ivypool fall into old tunnels. They decide to split to find the exit (since they haven’t been DF trainees together, Ivypool has to reason to get her to talk). Ivypool finds it. Blossomfall doesn’t and dies despite the search parties sent after her.
No Tunnels battle because they never brought Sol back around the lake since Ashfur was not murdered like in canon.
The Last Hope. Firestar dies. Hollyleaf doesn’t. Brambleclaw becomes leader and, since Squirrelflight is dead, he choses his own daughter to become his deputy. She declines because she killed Ashfur (although she never admitted it) and thinks she’s not worth becoming deputy. Bramblestar choses Berrynose instead.
No AlderSpark. Cinderheart does receive a vision about embracing what they find in the shadows, though, and she decides to set on a journey. Bramblestar refuses because there’s only one medicine cat in Thunderclan.
Darktail is not brought around the Lake. Sky Clan dies out little by little (and Violetkit and Twigkit die too). Berrynose is apparently killed at some point during TBC?? Hollyleaf becomes the new deputy (this time she doesn’t refuse because instead of Squirrelflight’s Hope the SE was Hollyleaf’s Atonement and she found peace with killing Ashfur and abandonning Squirrelflight through a few retcons etc).
TL;DR: if Leafpool had died while kitting, Berrynose would have been Dovewing’s mentor and Hollyleaf would have become Bramblestar’s deputy.

The Cats of WindClan: Bluebellwhisker
Name: Bluebellwhisker
Meaning: Elegant and Sensitive
Identity: Cisgender Molly - She/Her
Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Sitter - Monarch
Former Rank(s): N/A
A long furred, dilute classic tabby molly with bright green eyes and long, slender legs. Bluebellwhisker has a white underside, long straight whiskers and deep set ears. Her coat is primarily blue with pale cream splotches on her rump and legs.
Bluebellwhisker is extremely focused and dedicated to her clan, always pressing forward. She became a Sitter with the intent of teaching the next generation to embody her determination to be of service to her clan. Many kits who were raised by her unanimously agreed that she was the strictest sitter who you couldn’t afford to annoy as she possessed the fury of a badger lunging at you. She always chuckled when she heard these hushed whispers and whining complaints from kits as they usually grew up to understand that she was just protecting them.
When Bluebellwhisker first started spending time with Barkface, she wasn’t sure what she would find. Though she prides herself on being rational, there was always something otherworldly about him attributed to him being a medic. The more she got to know him, the more she fell in love with him. Barkface was a kind, gentle and welcoming tom who is fond of weaving flower crowns and batting around mossballs like he’s still three moons old. Barkface turned out to be very sweet, plucking dandelions and bringing them to her every night and sharing the best portions of his prey with her.
When she first broached him about having kits, he was shy and nervous admitting to never doing anything like it before. Bluebellwhisker reassured him and allowed him to take his time and slowly become more comfortable with the concept. When she was finally confirmed to be pregnant, it was a startling shift to being pulled near the top of the totem pole but she’s also excited to be carrying the next leg of Moth Flight’s kin.
Mentor(s): Silverchime (deceased)
Apprentice(s): N/A
Parents: Bluefeather (mother/deceased), Ryethroat (father/deceased)
Sibling(s): Dapplepaw (sister/deceased)
Mate(s): Barkface
Kit(s): (Pregnant)

7. What is your deepest joy about writing?
Sharing it! I had been writing throughout my childhood, but I always use 2011 as the year I started writing stories because that's the year I fell in love with it because me and a couple of friends starting sharing stories with each and just hyping each other up. Like I very do much write for myself, but I love seeing other people love my stories too.
40. Please share a poem with me, I need it.
Choosing To have joy Is not Naively thinking Everything will be easy. It is Courageously believing That there is still hope, Even when Things get hard. Here's to living joyously And holding hope closely. Today. Tomorrow. Always.
Technically it's a greeting card message, but it's poetic and I love it. Also the card had watercolor monarch butterflies on it, which is always the best decoration choice tbh.
17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.
Time Travel Fix-it except Firestar fucks straight over to Windclan- because it's the most self-indulgent and really fun, and I should write more of it.
The #1 biggest thing to know is that StarClan is spending this entire timeline pressing the Big Red Prophecy button over and over again because clearly something's broken
Other highlights are under the cut for length:
Brokenstar/Firestar rivalry because "Rusty" gunned straight for Brokenstar during the WindClan-getting-chased-out-of-their-territory Battle and took one of his lives, probably his first if I can swing it
"Rusty" also definitely snatches Badgerfang in the chaos and wow isn't this apprentice like really tiny? Almost like he's too young? Guess he's ours now :3
WindClan now yeets all the way to SkyClan's neighborhood and SkyClan descendents help them out. Firestar returns post-Brokenstar to help rebuild SkyClan, for reasons currently unknown Dustpelt and Sandstorm follow him
Timeline gets squished because there's no reason Arc 1 took 3 years
Out of the original 5 canon ThunderClan apprentices: Graystripe is in RiverClan, Dustpelt and Sandstorm end up in WindClan because Firestar has two paws, and Ravenpaw actually stays in ThunderClan I think
Redtail lives long enough to succeed Bluestar and become Redstar. Tigerstar then spends the time between that and arriving at the lake, whittling down his lives, which means both him and Firestar are brand new leaders when they reach the lake
Literally both Oakheart and Redtail live because "Rusty" took a walk through RiverClan territory and distracted the Sunningrocks patrol
Initial lake territory leaders are drastically different: Firestar of WindClan, Oakstar of RiverClan, Whitestar of ShadowClan, Tigerstar of ThunderClan
Both RiverClan and ThunderClan have lost a generation of medicine cats each, ThunderClan may have lost two Actually, scratch that, I'm kicking Leafpool out with her kits, so ThunderClan just doesn't have a confirmed medicine cat after Yellowfang because I haven't decided how the dominoes fall in regards to Cinderpelt yet
Also means Lion/Holly/Jay litter is in WindClan
Literally have no idea who's left to make up ThunderClan's ranks at this point (That's a lie, I do have some idea, but man they're loosing all the cool kids lol)
Kin of your kin prophecy not only still applies, but is actually given to Tigerstar as a threat
No idea how I'm getting Cloudtail into the clans
Smudge may end up a minor villain
My initial plan was for Tallstar to take "Rusty" under his wing, but Barkface showed up first and well now Firestar's probably going to have two dads
The more I think about this, the less the time-travel is relevant but also like the entire set-up needs the time travel. So clearly I just need to sprinkle in more future knowledge shenanigans
Also I think Warrior Cats should have a matrilineal kinship system because of the whole "Queens don't have to name their litter's father" but that also definitely throws a wrench into everything, so it's probably not going to get touched on for this AU

Tornear Becomes WindClan's Leader AU
I MESSED THIS UP AND AM REPOSTING IT FDAKHS
ANON WHO SENT THIS I LOST THE SCREENSHOT AND I'M SO SORRY BUT I HOPE YOU SEE THIS AND LIKE IT ;;
THE SUGGESTION WAS TORNEAR WAS CHOSEN BY STARCLAN TO LEADER INSTEAD OF MUDCLAW
I AM A LITTLE FOOL BOY AND I'M SO SORRY FOR LOSING YOUR REQUEST
///
Firestar and Tornear announce that Tornear is to be their new leader after Tallstar's death
Mudclaw is shocked and feels more than a little betrayed at the idea of his own brother taking his place
He goes up to Tornear, trying to reason with him
Tornear understands how Mudclaw feels, but he can't change what Tallstar had said
Mudclaw asks if it truly was Tallstar who said that and Tornear is appalled at the implications
He tells Mudclaw that Firestar had nothing to do with this
"I'm sorry, I truly am, Mudclaw, but I don't know what you expect me to do here."
Mudclaw expects his brother to step down from being leader, that's what he expects
Tornear, getting frustrated, takes a moment and walks away. He's done with this conversation, as it's clear that the former deputy is not listening
Before nightfall, Tornear calls a Clan meeting
He says he thought he knew who he wanted as deputy, but he had to give himself more time to think, thanks to some recent revelations about his Clanmates
Looking directly at Mudclaw in the crowd of cats, Tornear announces that Webfoot will be his deputy
Mudclaw is outraged at this and he glares at Tornear
Tornear feels a little guilty, but if he wants a stubborn, outspoken cat as his deputy, he's going to choose Webfoot, because at least then he has a chance to have a conversation instead of being bullied into rolling over for his brother
Webfoot is happy at first until he notices how his former mentor, Mudclaw, is reacting
Tornear says not to mind Mudclaw, as he's just being bitter
Webfoot asks if it's truly right, as Mudclaw had been deputy
Tornear assures that this is what Tallstar told him and anything Mudclaw tries to claim is coming from a place of distrust and bitter resentment
Still, he sees that Mudclaw is trying to influence Webfoot, so he goes out of his way to keep his brother and his brother's former apprentice apart
As this goes on, a coup is brewing as Hawkfrost is convincing Mudclaw that blood is less important than leading the Clans in the right direction, even lying to the former deputy of WindClan and saying he rejected his own relation to Tigerstar to prove his loyalty to RiverClan
Tornear is very polite to Leafpaw, though he does not give her or ThunderClan any extra terriory like Onestar did in canon
Mudclaw confronts Tornear, asking why he's being so nice to ThunderClan and Tornear smacks him, saying to think instead of speaking like a foxheart that she's a medicine cat apprentice before she's ever anyone's kin and to act like he should've thrown her out for trying to be helpful is idiotic and cowardly
Mudclaw is stunned and the guilt is settling in Tornear's chest, but he's getting so tired of Mudclaw wanting to step all over him and act like he's better
He does apologize later that same day
Mudclaw acknowledges the apology, but it's cut off there
When the coup takes place, Tornear is stunned
He confronts Mudclaw, asking if this is want he really wants, to destroy his own Clan just to become leader
Mudclaw states, coldly, that he's not trying to tear WindClan apart
Tornear motions to the WindClan cats all fighting around the two of them
"What do you call this then, Mudclaw? How is this not tearing our Clan apart?" He's on the verge of crying. Why is his brother doing this? What happened to the good old times?
As ThunderClan comes in, he can see Mudclaw coming to his senses, especially after Brambleclaw attacks and Hawkfrost sides with Brambleclaw
Mudclaw runs and Tornear chases after
He witnesses his brother's death and his blood runs cold
He returns to his Clan, head hanging down as he can't process what happened
He's soon comforted by his friends and family [specifically his uncle Barkface] and it does little to help, but he accepts
When he goes to get his nine lives, Mudclaw is there. The two apologize to each other and Mudclaw is the one who gets to call his brother Tornstar.
Notes; When Crowfeather runs away, Tornstar has it so that Crowfeather can never mentor and therefor never be deputy or leader, just to prove a point that he won't hesitate to punish those who break rules Still, he's not cold to Crowfeather and he does treat him like a Clanmate He also personally mentors Heatherpaw and thinks highly of the young molly, seeing promise in her He trains her to potentially become leader or at least deputy one day When she becomes a warrior, she's given the name Heathersong. Breezepaw, Crowfeather's son, is given the name Breezeclaw, as he sees hints of Mudclaw in the fighty tom, even if he bares no relation to the leader's brother When Crowfeather's secret kits are revealed, Tornstar isn't surprised, which is a bit shocking He talks to Crowfeather, saying that's why he set the tom up the way he did because he figured Crowfeather was seeing someone a ThunderClan someone a medicine cat ThunderClan someone Crowfeather apologizes but Tornstar has forgiven him He tells Crowfeather that he shouldn't worry what Tornstar thinks, instead telling the warrior to focus on those who he truly needs to ask for forgiveness from Onewhisker on the other paw when Onewhisker is revealed to have lied, Tornstar confronts the tom and Onewhisker becomes hostile at the confrontation Tornstar is disappointed, hoping the warrior had known better but that's neither here nor there also, during Darktail's first attack on WindClan, Webfoot was killed. Heathertail, who by this point had mentored Furzepelt and probably had another apprentice, is made the deputy Tornstar lives until about the end of AVoS, where he has passed away from illness after illness. Heathertail becomes Heatherstar, not allowing her title as the new leader to stop her from caring for her family. She makes Gorsetail her deputy and the two become a kind yet powerful leadership duo in WindClan They are also some of the first ones to accept changing the Code and perhaps allowing some way for cats to be with the ones they love [Heatherstar formally having loved Lionblaze and Gorsetail being secret makes with the RiverClan warrior, Beechfur]

I wanted to ask. you what your plans are for the later ShadowClan medicine cats (Puddleshine and Shadowsight). I haven't seen you mention Puddleshine at all, I'm wondering if Littlecloud is still going to die when he does in canon and have Puddleshine randomly picked to be a med? Since you already had the "surprise medcat" plot with Kestrelflight being apprenticed after Barkface dies, there might be a reason not to keep this, not to mention if Littlecloud is still alive by the end of TBC you could have him playing a part in the switch to leaders being able to be deposed/resign, because he would remember clearly how Nightstar and his brother Rowanstar died due to leaders not being able to resign or be overthrown while still alive. Maybe Puddleshine can still be Littlecloud's apprentice, but is out of the way by TBC because he joins the Kin and stays there, with Shadowsight being Littlecloud's apprentice. The "Puddleshine joining the kin" plot point would also make more sense if Littlecloud is alive because I definitely think you should change how in canon, Rowanstar is inexplicably so horrible and all of ShadowClan so politically united in being fine with outsiders that they ALL prefer Darktail to him except his immediate family, and Puddleshine wouldn't have motivation to join the kin to heal them if he was the only med and there were still lots of ShadowClan cats to take care of, but it would make sense if Littlecloud is still alive. Or you could even have him genuinely join the apprentice rebellion, I think it would be interesting to have a cleric/med apprentice who actually fully sides with Darktail.
And now Shadowsight... I haven't actually read TBC, just the plot summaries, but I've seen people be of two minds with regards to his arc's conclusion. One is that it was really good for how he feels he has to throw himself into danger and death to make up for letting Ashfur rise to power which everyone is telling him he's horrible for, and Bristlefrost's death lets him realize he doesn't really want it (though this is already what you are doing with Breezepelt in AVOS, so you might want to not go in this direction). The other is that it's anticlimactic to have him spend a whole arc being the victim who gets beaten up and needing to be rescued, and in the end he just continues to be the victim and have someone else die to save him, having accomplished nothing. So how are you planning to end his arc? Also, since you tend to, for good reason, lean towards different cats having different clearly defined politics rather than everyone having an opinion that the plot/drama says so, which cats are going to be distrustful of Shadowsight and want him punished and which ones will be sympathetic towards him?
On Littlecloud
The reason I haven't mentioned him and Puddleshine too much is because Bonefall AVoS is still very loose. I get wrapped up in how I'm going to try and keep in Twig and Alder even just a little bit and hit a wall, when the rest of my changes, like the POV shift, are soooo much more interesting.
So Littlecloud...
I want to keep the fact that Flametail's death destroyed him. Flametail was to him what he once was to Runningnose. He loved him like a son.
Thinking about it, this feels too juicy to just... never have him pick up another. Puddleshine should be a cat who's practically forced onto him, and he resents that. They both end up not liking each other as a result. Or...
Maybe I'll bring back the suggestion I offered up a while ago, where a medicine cat has a sort of dementia or alzheimers onset. Make it so Rowanstar made him take an apprentice because his mind is fading. Puddlepaw knows that Littlecloud's not all there and dreads the fact he will soon have to treat his own mentor like an elder, when he isn't even fully trained.
(and as a side note, if he gets a progressive disease of the mind, I would like him to live significantly longer than canon. He'll pass away peacefully as an elder between AVoS and TBC.)
(Tawny should also be past the age of retirement at this point and move to the elder's den after the Tawnypelt's Clan redux)
Shadowsight
I think TBC was the best arc in a looooong time, but if I have any bones to pick with it, it's how it thinks that Shadowsight needs a "redemption arc"
He didn't fucking doooo anythiiiing
They want to hold him to some kind of ridiculous narrative punishment, but he didn't DO ANYTHING. He was manipulated by a member of StarClan, that thing that medicine cats are SUPPOSED TO LISTEN TO. The "seeing into the shadows" thing doesn't even make sense, he was speaking to a StarClan cat.
So, I could have gone back and made Ashfur a Dark Forest cat and then actually have the narrative give some weight to how he should have known the difference via his training... but I like StarClan Ashfur. I like StarClan making a mistake.
So I would rather fix in a way as to point out that Shadowsight Did Nothing Wrong, and is the victim of horrible circumstances worthy of sympathy.
I don't think rage at him is justified, but, I think that cats who are angry or looking for someone to blame will target him. I also really want to preserve Lionblaze's anger in particular, he's furious, he's irrational, and he's so blinded by rage that he will blame his own grandson.
On the "Seeing The Shadows" thing, I think I would actually like it more if somehow, he was able to sacrifice his connection to StarClan in the final fight. Like...
Maybe he actually does a Reverse Uno on Angelic Abomination Ashfur to hold him in place, unable to dodge or look away, so Bristlefrost can do a comet-tackle and knock him out of Heaven. Forever severing his connection to StarClan cats, but defeating him in the process.
Because then he can still have his guilt over cousin Bristlefrost dying instead of him, AND confront his manipulator without having a miserable "dies to kill him" ending. Plus just imagine Ashfur getting more and more desperate like
"You can't hold me down, stop being an idiot. You're just a weak little apprentice at heart. Cease this-- you can't exploit your connection like this, what if it breaks? You'll be a medicine cat who can't talk to anyone in StarClan! You'll be useless! I MEAN IT, YOU'RE NOTHING WITHOUT ME, SHADOWSIGHT, I CANT MOVE, SHADOWSI-"
And then he dies

tpb-tnp era windclan sucks to think abt...particularly through tallstar and barkface both being close and mudclaw being shrewclaw’s kid. always always thinking abt barkface’s place in the rebellion and how he had to come to terms with his kin getting killed by starclan itself

warrior cats rewrite part 2: fire and ice
more of This apparently! this is a continuation of this post so go over there to get the gist of this.
with the last book i was focused on establishing characters and dynamics within thunderclan, so this one is more focused on establishing the other groups outside of thunderclan (windclan, riverclan, the rogues in shadowclan, kittypets) and the exact mechanics of the world. also assume that anything i mention little of stays the same- bluestar, yellowfang, etc
-so like in the original we open on a prologue of windclan. the prologue is from the perspective of a young apprentice, gorsepaw. he and his brother mudpaw are trying to comprehend What Is Going On while morningflower soothes them and tallstar attempts to lead. they are helped by members of the blood brothers (the city cats who try to keep things safe in the city and suburbs). little is mentioned about the blood brothers but it is mentioned they’re not as good as they once were and could use a fresh young leader to give them real direction again
- anyway back in thunderclan we hear about darkstripe’s pov of redtail’s death
- redtail was a risk taker and very fiery and passionate- much like fireheart himself. bluestar chose him because his eagerness balanced out her pragmatism. however, redtail’s impulsivity and tendency to be a bleeding-heart became more and more loathed by others- especially the elders and tigerclaw.
- tigerclaw values conservatism, duty, and tradition. he’s a man of stability. and he realized that redtail’s ways could get thunderclan in trouble- he had a point, of course, but he took it too far.
- the entire sunningrocks battle was suggested by thistleclaw, tigerclaw’s father, and quickly approved by the elders (elders are often the ones who start battles), although none of the other elders knew of the plan.  thistleclaw also suggested the time- in the dark of night, where no cat could see who was fighting who too well. thistleclaw was helping tigerclaw the entire time.
- redtail was killed by not oakheart, although it was often claimed they had killed each other (and who had no voice to speak up- oakheart was dead and was an impulsive type like redtail who would have totally killed him in defense if they had fought), but tigerclaw, who figured it was the only way to become deputy and lead thunderclan with the stability he had desired it to be led with.
- fireheart shares his findings with the others, in secret. raven, gray, and cinderpaw all believe him, although it takes them a while to come to terms with the idea of tigerclaw being a murderer, but sand and long are unconvinced- neither wants to even entertain the idea their father was murdered.
- anyway thunderclan sends a few cats to retrieve windclan now that Brokenstar Is Gone(TM), gray and fire being two of them. windclan doesn’t like how little thunderclan seems to care about them because none of the high ranking warriors were sent- especially the angry mudpaw, who is still rather traumatized from being chased down with the rest of windclan by shadowclan. meanwhile, fireheart meets onewhisker and they become fast friends. onewhisker is kind of a Cool Older Brother type but he’s also sycophantic and a little bit of a coward.
- meanwhile there’s barkface, the quiet medicine cat of windclan. on the way back starclan sends him an omen: the moon will bring unnecessary death on its back.
- on their way back they find riverclan dicking around on windclan territory and so there’s a Fight- right by the gorge. it plays out like in canon and whiteclaw dies, fire figures ‘oh that’s the death’ and moves on
- once they get back a few days pass and then The Gang Become Mentors to lionheart and frostfur’s litter: brackenkit, thornkit, brightkit, and swiftkit. (cinder meanwhile was goldenflower’s kid.) fire gets bracken, gray gets thorn, sand gets bright, and long gets swift
- while this goes down, gray falls in love with silverstream like he does in canon- further propelled by his own half-clan heritage and desire to know outsiders beyond thunderclan. fire spies on him as he does in canon, etc etc. also it’s here that fire sees princess, and he recognizes her immediately.
- also thorn doesn’t like that graystripe isn’t really paying attention to him, which makes him kind of a try-hard prick that Just Wants To Be Noticed. Patrol Guy: Origins
- meanwhile tigerclaw keeps asking bluestar to see some unusual activity at the thunderpath. he looks worried about it.
- this comes to a head when tigerclaw rushes into camp with a few other thunderclan warriors. “there was a rogue attack at the thunderpath!” everyone follows him and finds two cats being carried out, both unconscious- darkstripe and cinderpaw. cinder’s leg has been shredded by a car (the rogues pushed her out in front of one) and darkstripe’s face is clawed up to hell and back.
- fireheart immediately Suspects Shit because this is tigerclaw. nobody else does except for ravenpaw, who notes that while cinderpaw’s injury is plausible, whoever clawed darkstripe did it in a very deliberate manner and not in defense as usually is done in the midst of dispute. fire figures out that tiger probably did the same trick he did with redtail, but targeting darkstripe instead.
- (”why are you relying so hard on mystery here?” mystery is really good for setting up worldbuilding, which is the main intent of the first three books.)
- meanwhile, cinderpaw is told that even though she can be a warrior, with the loss of her leg working properly she will likely need extra time and dedication to become one, and that it won’t be an easy road. cinder however refuses to give up, even though she’s initially left shaken and hopeless
- fireheart goes to see princess, who’s much more of a homebody than he is and comfortable in her life. however, she’s so relaxed because she doesn’t leave her home into the outside kittypet world, and is concerned about smudge and her mate- who both leave and get in fights with other cats pretty often. did you ever find smudge? she asks. what do you mean? replies fireheart. oh, this moon he decided to come with you, into the forest. i haven’t seen him since...
- anyway since princess doesn’t want her first child to enter the chaotic disputes of Kittypet Borders (and the other calamities of having little established government) she hands fireheart cloudkit
- like in canon nobody initially likes cloudkit but brindleface takes him in. their main worry is that he’s a white cat with blue eyes, which could mean that he’s deaf- not that this would hurt thunderclan, but that this could leave cloudkit to have a harder time being a warrior. cinderpaw however makes the connection and tells everyone that she wants to mentor cloudkit as soon as he becomes an apprentice.
- fireheart asks darkstripe to tell him more about tigerclaw killing redtail, hoping to get the details he needs to properly accuse him. but darkstripe is... different, this time. what do you mean!?! he screeches. tigerclaw is a loyal thunderclan warrior! you would never accuse lionheart or spottedleaf of this. how dare you even think-
- fireheart realizes that barkface’s ‘the moon will bring unnecessary death on its back’ omen was not referring to only whiteclaw, but also, perhaps, darkstripe in a way. whatever tigerclaw did to darkstripe, whatever he told him, it changed the tabby tom forever. as fireheart continues to think about the omen, his mind flickers to smudge for a moment, and then it returns to thunderclan.
- the gathering goes down like it does in canon. thunderclan slowly realizes that the rogues nightstar mentions are the same ones that tigerclaw had to fight at the border. ohhh shittt, they collectively go
- they get back to see rogues everywhere in thunderclan camp. the usually-bellicose thistleclaw isn’t fighting them, and darkstripe is half-hearting it. those who are There however are doing an okay job of fending them off, and their asses are collectively kicked when the ThunderClan Gang gets to them. they also manage to capture brokenstar after yellowfang blinds him (and fire hears that she was his mother- honestly i’m not changing a lot abt yellowfang)
- in the midst of this, fireheart accidentally kills clawface. he’s wracked with horror at it, and wonders if this is how graystripe felt when he killed whiteclaw.
- anyway there’s like 2 days of peace and then mudpaw rushes into gathering like ‘HOLY SHIT GUYS WE ARE BEING FUCKING ATTACKED BY THOSE SHADOWCLAN RIVERCLAN MFS’ and everyone is like ‘god DAMMIT we JUST PUT you guys back there’ and they all go in, ally with windclan, and have a Big Ass Fight like in canon. we get a good idea of everyone’s loyalties to who- graystripe is only fighting shadowclan, darkstripe only attacks whoever is around tigerclaw, sandstorm and longtail tagteam fight against river and shadow, onewhisker is just running around doing nothing but Look Cool,
- barkface dies in the battle, leaving windclan to wonder if he had predicted his own death in the omen from about a moon before. fireheart doesn’t have the heart to tell them that it meant much more than they could know. spottedleaf joins windclan in barkface’s stead as he left behind no apprentice. ‘wait you can just Leave Clans like that?’ says graystripe. he is Thinkin
- the book’s end is uncertain as fireheart is still reeling from clawface’s death and the big battle between all the clans. he wonders if this is how the rest of his life will be- and then, as he falls asleep, he gets a nightmarish vision of hell and heaven, life and death, and an odd peace afterwards, all narrated by a voice he swears he knows but not from where. it almost becomes... oddly soothing, like a long-forgotten childhood memory.
- lion and tiger will meet in battle, and fire alone will herald it. there will be three, kin of his kin, and they will hold the power of starlight in their paws; yet peace will only arrive on the gentle wings of the fourth. out of the darkness of blood-spilling-blood will come a new dawn, and the four oaks will live beyond the memories of its memories. nothing is as it was, yet this is how it always has been, and this is how it always will be...

My CrowSquirrel AU Because Why Not
[Long Post]
Crowpaw is a medicine cat apprentice with Barkface as his mentor because why not (Inspired by @/swampyfwoggo’s AU)?
Squirrelpaw and Shrewpaw are the best friends, the unstoppable trouble-making duo. No one can stop them.
Crowpaw doesn’t look forward to the journey at all. He’s terrible at socializing and doesn’t want to leave behind his med cat duties.
Meanwhile, Squirrelpaw absolutely wants to go, and it takes a lot of arguing with Brambleflower (Brambleclaw) until he finally gives up.
Pretty no one gets along with each other during the journey at first (aside from Feathertail and Stormfur sticking next to each other and Brambleflower and Tawnypelt being like “hey it’s been a while”). Crowpaw and Squirrelpaw bicker all the time, that is until they tag team in annoying Brambleflower.
HOWEVER, eventually they all become the bestest of friends.
Feathertail decides to talk to Crowpaw one night after he exploded in an argument, and Crowpaw realizes that this is the first time someone actually showed genuine kindness to him that wasn’t his mother.
Crowpaw sticks with Feathertail a lot and develops a crush on her, but it is one-sided (because Crowpaw is an apprentice).
As with everyone becoming best friends, Squirrelpaw and Crowpaw also become really good friends, being the two apprentices on the journey.
When Feathertail dies, Crowpaw is especially broken, and the remaining cats stay pretty much quiet the trip back.
Shrewpaw gets the name Shrewfoot and is like “Where were you?” But then he dies saving Crowpaw.
Barkface dies before all of the Clans leave to the new territories, and he decides that Crowpaw will become a full medicine cat. Crowpaw names himself Crowfeather after Feathertail, and Squirrelpaw gains the name Squirrelflight.
Stormfur stays in the tribe as normal.
Once the cats arrive, Tallstar dies and makes Onewhisker the new deputy.
Of course, since Onewhisker and Firestar are the only cats to know this, Mudclaw becomes mad and WindClan splits in two. The other cats name them Mudclaw’s Group and Onewhisker’s group as both call themselves WindClan. Mudclaw names Nightcloud as his deputy while Onewhisker names Ashfoot as his.
Crowfeather being the only WindClan medicine cat is confused on which side to be on, but Ashfoot tells Crowfeather to go help Mudclaw’s Group as Ashfoot knows a bit about medicine.
Of course this makes meeting up with his other friends harder, especially since he really wants to meet up with Squirrelflight. But Mudclaw is like “No ThunderClan is allied with Onewhisker they are bad.”
Crowfeather and Nightcloud become good friends during this time.
Mudclaw makes Crowfeather take him to the Moonpool right after Leafpool discovered it, who then meet up with Ashfoot and Onewhisker. After some arguing, Mudclaw attacks Onewhisker and then the big Civil War fight happens.
The tree to the island falls on both Onewhisker and Mudclaw, leaving them both dead. All of WindClan then discusses whether Nightcloud or Ashfoot would be leader, but Nightcloud steps down, leaving Ashfoot to become Ashstar.
A lot of moons pass and Crowfeather and Squirrelfight meet up a lot more, and eventually fall in love with each other. They continue to sneak out at night to meet up with each other.
Leafpool eventually discovers this and is like “Uh... you can’t be in a relationship with a WindClan cat and a medicine cat much less Crowfeather he’s stinky.”
After Leafpool and Squirrelflight argue more, they eventually go back to ThunderClan only to discover badgers. Crowfeather runs off to WindClan to be like “Our bros are in trouble!” and they fight off the badgers.
However! There’s still one in the nursery and Cinderpelt dies like she did in canon. Leafpool gets angry and blames Squirrelflight, and tells her to stop meeting up with Crowfeather.
Leafpool and Squirrelflight barely talk to each other, and Squirrelflight talks to Brambleflower and Ashfur.
Ashfur is like “You gotta stop hanging out with Brambleflower did you know his father is Tigerstar” and Squirrelflight is like “okay?” But then Ashfur keeps talking about how Tigerstar killed his mother and also that Brambleflower is being really suspicious. Squirrelflight ignores him.
Ashfur and Brambleflower get in a lot of fights, with Brambleflower almost killing him one time. Squirrelflight is mad at this.
The whole Bramble and Hawk thing happens you know the story. Squirrelflight then gets more mad at Ashfur because “He’s not a bad cat stop judging him because of his father.”
Firestar is like “Wow Brambleflower you saved me wanna be deputy” and Brambleflower is like “Nah I don’t deserve to be deputy yet.” Squirrelflight is chosen as deputy.
Squirrelflight finds out she’s pregnant and tells Leafpool who is like “wow good job Squirrelflight.” Squirrelflight thinks of either asking Bramble or Ash to pretend to be the father, but then decides on Bramble because she was still kinda mad at Ash.
Brambleflower and Squirrelflight pretend to be mates and she has Hollykit, Lionkit, and Jaykit.
Breezepaw, Nightcloud’s son becomes Crowfeather’s apprentice and the two, while they argue a lot, have a good relationship. Breezepaw looks up to his mentor.
Lionpaw becomes Ashfur’s apprentice. Ashfur tries to get along with his apprentice but Lionpaw is too powerful and doesn’t know his own strength. Lionpaw then almost kills Ashfur, and Shrewfoot becomes afraid of him. Lionpaw feels really bad and hates his power.
During the journey in Outcast, Hollypaw notices that Squirrelflight and Crowfeather talk especially a lot together. She’s like “Huh, must be friends.”
The fire scene happens with Ashfur, who insists that the three are a danger because they are Tigerstar’s kin. He talks about how he gets reminded of Brindleface’s death whenever he saw Bramble, and that all of Tigerstar’s kin is bad. He tries to kill the three but then Squirrelflight is like “They are not his kits.”
Lionblaze kills his former mentor out of rage, but then regrets his decision. He then decides if no one found out, it would at least be worth it.
Hollyleaf tells everyone, and then Lionblaze runs away. Crowfeather is demoted to a warrior as Squirrelflight resigns her deputy position to stand with Crowfeather. Breezeflight (Breezepelt) loses all of his respect for his mentor. Brambleflower becomes deputy.
Hollyleaf later realizes that she has no powers, and that Dovepaw might be the third. However, they’re still confused on Lionblaze.
Breezeflight trains in the Dark Forest and tries to get Jayfeather on his side, as they went through similar things. Jayfeather declines and he gets attacked by Breeze.
Same thing as canon happens basically.
Lionblaze comes back to fufil the prophecy.
After the battle, Crowfeather gets his position back as a medicine cat. He and Breezeflight forgive each other.
Squirrelflight decides to let Brambleflower be leader as she becomes deputy.
Alternate Ending: Squirrelflight becomes Squirrelstar as Brambleflower is her deputy.
