The first one are these pop-it balls!! I have really bad skin picking and they tend to help immensely with that :] I honestly cannot go anywhere without them or I will explode

Second is a polaroid camera I’ve had for a couple of years!! I’ve always loved the sound it makes when you take a picture and just the general shape of it is really pretty,, it stopped working months back ago though :sobs:

Third is this robot dinosaur I found when I was antique shopping one day. It doesn’t even have a remote or batteries that’ll make it operate or anything but I still got it because it just looked way too cool to ignore,, (plus I used to have a much smaller one when I was younger so that’s another reason why I got it :])

Lastly is of course my marker plush!! (and the blanket he’s wrapped in) Marker bring me tonsss of comfort and he’s always by my side :3 The blanket is something that I’ve had for over a decade now so it’s extremely old and worn out. My family has always been persistent in trying to convince me to get rid of it but I refuse to because I genuinely cannot sleep without it 😭

Ming, It's Okay

CG! Jin Lee and Regressor! Ming Lee 🍼

Plot: Ming has a nightmare after the Pandapocalypse of 2002.

"How could you let this happen? She's out of control!" Grandma Wu berated Ming after Mei escaped her ritual.

Except Ming didn't mean for any of this to happen. She tried to stop Mei and didn't know what came of her.

Ming was on the ground, tears rolling down her face. She was tearfully catching her breath.

Jin, Ming's husband, knelt beside her and tried to comfort her while Grandma Wu and the aunties scolded her.

"How could she...? How could she do this to... her own... mother?!" Ming growled.

Ming's panda escaped from her shattered pendant. The panda then caused Ming to transform into a giant-sized red panda. After the transformation, Ming stormed to the SkyDome and almost destroyed everything while fighting with her daughter.

Right before Mei headbutted Ming...

Ming bolted awake in a cold sweat. She looked around and saw that she was a human, not a panda. She was in her bedroom. Jin was asleep in bed beside her. Her panda, sealed in Mei's Tamagotchi, was sleeping soundly on her nightstand. The clock read 4:37 AM. The calendar on the wall had the month August 2002 on it.

Ming sighed as tears began to form in her eyes. Even though she apologized to Mei and healed her relationship with her, along with her relationship with Grandma Wu... even though she was currently trying to make things right by raising money for the SkyDome... she still felt ashamed. She was ashamed at herself... ashamed at being a terrible mother in the first place, even though she vowed to never be like Grandma Wu... ashamed for pressuring Mei to be perfect... ashamed for everything.

Ming sniffled as she got up and walked over to the dresser. She then grabbed a plush Celine Dion doll her husband got her for her birthday from the top of the dresser and held it tight. Ming went to therapy after the Pandapocalypse. She remembered telling the therapist about her emotions and the trauma she encountered, along with unintentionally passing it on to her daughter. The therapist understood this and gave Ming a coping mechanism to cope with all the trauma she faced, and to help her cope with her big feelings. The coping mechanism was age regression, meaning that an individual regresses to a younger headspace to cope with anything they went through, such as mental illness, PTSD, etc.

Ming was sniffling and hugging her Celine Dion doll when her headspace started slipping. Jin then woke up.

"Ming, are you okay?" Jin asked as he rubbed his eyes and sat up.

Ming looked over, not really saying anything.

Jin saw the saddened look on Ming's face and walked over to her. He held his arms out, inviting Ming for a hug if she wanted one.

Ming accepted the hug and began sobbing softly.

"Shhh, it's okay. I'm right here," Jin whispered as he rubbed Ming's back.

"Daddy, I had a bad dream," Ming hiccuped.

"I'm sorry you had a nightmare, sweetheart. But you're awake, you're safe."

"Daddy... I shouldn't have been a monster..."

"Ming, listen to me," Jin said as he gently cupped Ming's face. "You are not a monster. You are perfect, just the way you are. You are not bad. Whatever happened happened. The important thing now is that we're making things right together."

Ming sniffled more as tears continued falling down her face.

Jin wiped Ming's tears away and kissed her forehead.

"Come on, let's get you back in bed," Jin said as he escorted Ming back to the bed. "I'll get your little stuff if you want."

"Yes, please," Ming said softly as Jin tucked her in.

Jin walked over to the closet. He pulled out a backpack, which contained a purple baby blanket, some pacifiers and paci clips, teethers, touch-and-feel books, a battery-operated nightlight, coloring books, and crayons. He returned to the bed and handed the bag to Ming.

Ming pulled out her blanket, the nightlight, and a light blue pacifier.

"Thank you," Ming sniffled once more.

"You're welcome," Jin smiled as he turned on the nightlight and set it on Ming's nightstand. He then popped the pacifier in Ming's mouth and wiped more of Ming's tears. Ming slowly calmed down as she sucked her soother.

Jin set the backpack back in the closet after pulling out a touch-and-feel book about baby animals and returned to bed. He gave Ming a hug and began reading.

After the story, Jin looked to see that Ming was asleep, her blanket and Celine Dion doll still in her arms. Jin smiled and kissed Ming's forehead goodnight.

Eyes heavy from the weight of the day, you sat cozily in the corner of Eddie’s bed, dressed in one of his worn band tee shirts. The collar had holes, but the fabric was soft and perfect to sleep in. And, it smelled like him.

You yawned, trying to fight tiredness, but it was getting harder as minutes passed. ‘’Eddie, are you finished soon? I’m starting to fall asleep-’’

‘’Don’t you dare!’’ he said dramatically as he slid the bathroom door open and poked his head out, finally finished with his shower. ‘’We need to get through at least one chapter before you fall asleep.’’

‘’Then, get moving.’’ You snuggled your face against your pillow and plush blanket as another yawn came up. ‘’I’m tired.’’

‘’Let me brush my teeth and then I’m all yours, okay?’’

You nodded although he couldn’t see you. ‘’Okay.’’

Nights at the trailer were your favorite. The place might not be a five star hotel, but you loved it here - it felt like home. Falling asleep and waking next to Eddie, cooking together and teaching him simple recipes because that boy can't cook anything that doesn't come from the freezer, watching TV in the evening until one of you falls asleep on the couch, brushing your teeth at the same time in the bathroom and fighting elbows.

You could have none of that at home. Not with your strict and overbearing parents around all the time.

When he was finished, Eddie flopped on the bed and stole you a kiss. He tasted fresh of mint toothpaste. You smiled and grabbed at his shirt, pulling him in for another kiss, addicted to his freshly showered scent. Eddie laughed softly, complying and kissing you some more.

‘’Ready?’’ Eddie asked when you allowed him to pull back, his soft brown eyes looking at you.

You nodded, feeling excited despite your tiredness.

Eddie grinned at you, then reached over to the nightstand and grabbed his well-loved copy of The Hobbit. The corners were curling and he had written notes in the margins of the pages, but he would never replace it.

When you admitted to having never read it, Eddie had faked being wounded. How can you not have read the greatest children book ever written? You promised to make it up and grab the book next time you go to the library, but he made it your next bedtime story instead, claiming you needed the 'full experience' - whatever it meant.

At eighteen years old, you should be a little old to be read bedtime stories to, but according to Eddie there was no such thing as being too old for bedtime stories. So, he began reading his favorite books to you - and you loved it.

With Eddie, bedtime stories weren’t just bedtime stories. He made the stories come to life by doing all the voices and making the book sound like an image-less movie. He loved when you would ask questions about the stories and how you would get upset when he would stop in the middle of the book because it's late and you need to sleep.

He had even gotten out his old battery-operated flashlight from when he was a kid and would read under his blanket, faking being asleep. His uncle knew he wasn’t sleeping, but he never said anything. Now, the flashlight stood on the nightstand, lighting the room with a soft yellow glow, creating just enough light to read and see each other.

‘’In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit,’’ he began, feeling a sense of comfort in reading his favorite childhood book. ‘’Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.’’

Unprompted Raptor appreciation post

Showing some love for my favorite Zoid today.

Raptor is a tiny Zoid from Zoids Wild that is known for constantly losing battles, being easily distracted, and just being silly overall (except Rain, that episode made me cry). I think it looks more like a stumpy alvarezsaurid than a raptor but I'm no expert.

HMM Zoids are neat, but I prefer the windup/battery operated ones. I love how it skips along and wags its tail. When it comes to movement it's my top 5 models from charm alone.

Yes I made a plush of it. I don't know where it currently is. The arms and weapon are jointed so you can pose them... somewhat.

Raptoria (the blue one) from Zoids Wild Zero. Which, by the way, you should probably watch if you liked Chaotic Century, I'm begging you. It has cockpits if that's so important to your immersion. I'm just here for the colorful animal-shaped robots.

The main Raptoria is nicknamed Rap-chan and is actually a capable fighter. It's pilot is cute, too but this post is about Raptor.

This one from Zero is very cursed, though. I don't like it. Put the googly eyes back.

When Frankie said that it would be fine for her to sleep at his place while she worked on the film instead of her father paying for the hotel, Azalea was both relieved and anxious. It wasn’t that Frankie was going to hurt her. Just… what if he wasn’t used to her more … eccentric mannerisms?

Exhibit a. Sleeping mannerisms.

“Goodnight.” She stated as she went upstairs to the guest room. Closing the door and leaning on it, she looked at the room around her, a bed, plush and comfortable, a vanity, a TV, a desk.. a closet, thank god.

Rummaging through her luggage, she tore into the zipper of a vacuum sealed bag, the contents immediately unfolding and puffing up and out. Her father got her this floor mattress, a thin queen one she could fold in half to sleep on in any enclosed space she found comfortable. Then, the battery operated string lights that she wrapped around the empty pole where one usually hung clothes. Then, the sock monkey her grandmother made her.

Stripping the bed of its fitted sheet and duvet, taking the pillow as is, she situated herself in the small closet, closed the shuttered doors, and knocked out.

The plan was to get up before Frankie but the flight seemed to take it out of her. Hearing the door creak open in her state of light sleep she let out a low hum, her hand moving to sheild her eyes from the morning light.

“Dad… five more minutes…” she whines, half asleep azalea moving to pull the covers up over her head.

They’re fun to look at.

This thing

Isn’t this thing marvelous? The beaker in the little twig stand! The jewel on the cauldron! The spellbook! The wand holder! This thing is so hecking cute! Ok, it wouldn't be in person. In person it would be too small, and all the parts all joined together so you can’t move the spellbook or the candle, it makes bingldey electronic noises and its plastic nature would be all too obvious. But maybe if I saved some sticks and boards I could make a real one!

Magic Mixies

Are neat. They are definitely neat. Mixing potion ingredients and waving a wand to summon your own plush familiar is top tier magical toy.

The price kept me from getting my own, but then they introduced the dolls and they are such wonderful dolls. The faces are amazing, they’re just so cute.

The only problem is that if there are several you can’t resist, you accumulate several potion bottles that you don’t actually need. The website does have a section that suggests you make each pixling’s potion by filling the bottles with glitter and things which… ok, points for trying but it’s not reeeeeally a reuse option that actually works. I also thought that the bottles might look cool with battery operated candles inside. The bottles are neat items, it’s just that you end up with more than you have a use for so it becomes waste.

I emailed the company suggesting a “minimal packaging option for collectors” might be a good idea-- and I got a quite nice reply! I don’t know if they’ll listen, but you could message too if you wanted. The company really loves the magical reveal gimmick, and it is super cool, but the dolls are nice enough to stand on their own as a toy.

...I also told the company about treasure rocks, because if anybody’s going to bring them back it’ll be the company that’s big into the “magic reveal.” And I got no reply at all so I don’t think that’ll happen!

Wishcraft Toys

I thought I saw these mentioned on the livejournal post about How To make Magic, but looking back I don’t see it there. Either way, this three-toy set includes a paper foldy fortune teller, a deck of tarot cards, and a pendulum with pendulum board.

The tarot cards aren’t great, they’re black and white with pink and blue accents, the art is just not much. The cards are marked on the back so if you look closely you can do the psychic thing of looking at the back of the card and knowing which one it is. They come with a printed felt reading cloth with a spread printed on it, and there’s a booklet with extremely basic descriptions o what the cards mean.

The pendulum is two plastic ends on a satin cord, with one of the ends containing a magnet. The cardboard pendulum board has a piece of metal inside it that will make the end of the pendulum skip around and appear to point at one of the fortunes printed on it. It’s a subtle effect, not flashy, but it is kind of neat. Or you can use the magnet-free end for a natural fortune.

And the foldy thing is a foldy thing. I’m an absolute sucker for packaged magic, but this package is not really worth it. You can make your own pendulum and you should drop twenty bucks for a deck of tarot cards that really call to you.

Safari Ltd also has a line called "Wishcraft" that are, as you might guess, mystical crafty kits.
